But would it even feel like a library conference if I didn't get the nearly-overwhelming urge to comment "causal inference????" at half the sessions?

I ended up with the exact same number of books read, more pages read, a higher proportion of Agatha Christies somehow, and no books by white male authors, compared to last year.

#FridayFlea, anyone? This is the splendid flea from Robert Hooke's Micrographia, one of the most famous images from his book on microscopes and the observations he made with them. Micrographia introduced people to the idea of an invisible, microscopic world for the first time, and it was profoundly influential in both science and culture. We got this out for a class on science and society yesterday, and of course we had to take a photo to share. ⠀ ⠀ Rare Vault QH271 .H79 1667 ⠀ ⠀ #flea #hooke #micrographia #microscopic #histsci #histsciart #sciart #art #history #illustration #rarebooks #universityofmissouri #mizzou #ellislibrary (at Ellis Library)

Happy Froggy Friday with Toadlets!
The European common toad (Bufo bufo) in two variations with bonus toadlets! SciArt from Getreue Abbildungen Naturhistorischer, Bd. 1 (1793), edited by Johann Matthäus Bechstein.
But it's a toad! How can it be part of Froggy Friday?! All toads are frogs, but not all frogs are toads. Learn more about the differences, or should I say similarities.
