Hi!! I’m having trouble with trying to keep myself up. I start to stress myself out with keeping up with my hygiene and keeping myself up. I just want to smell delicious, and keep my body healthy inside and out , do you have any tips?
My Health & Wellness Routine - AUG 2023
Hello! I’m sorry to hear you’re having such difficulty. I am glad you reached out to me because this is a struggle of my own.
A Former Funky Bitch’s Guide for Remaining Fresh - a resource for staying fresh and delicious on the outside.
I have to stay intentional when it comes to my health, including my hygiene. If not, it’s neglected.
The first tip I have for you (all) is to make the choice to commit to keeping up your physical, mental and spiritual hygiene. All three need to be regularly cleaned and maintained.
Next, it’s important for you to have a go-to in the moments you find yourself stressed. It can be an immediate breathing and meditating session. Or grabbing a stress ball.
Whatever it is, you must find a way for you to remove yourself from the stressed environment physically and mentally.
THE ROUTINE
Diet
Water water water. Super cliche, but I forget to drink anything water particularly when I’m stressed. I put ACV in my water or in the ice cubes for my water bottle.
Mainly seafood, chicken and Turkey.
Herbs in my meals (I like adding cumin and ginger to my rice, stews, etc.)
Body
Yin Yoga
Walking and Breathing on Beat
Religiously Time Block Shower and Beauty Maintenance Time
Mental
Journaling
Verbally Venting to my Imaginary Therapist
Consoling Myself with Affirmations
Intentionally Having a Thought Free Mind
My best tip is to protect yourself, even if it’s protecting yourself from yourself.
From yourself in stress, anger or deep in anxiety.
Your hygiene is affected by your diet and stress levels. I certainly sweat more (and smell more) when I’m more stressed and feeling under pressure.
Protect yourself by investing in yourself. Hope this helped!

i've decided to get healthier this year by actively choosing to eat better food and move more and take better (micro and macro-level) care of myself and, most importantly, i am not telling my family about it at all
my family have a tendency, as i have mentioned in the past, to want to "help" and their help and support ends up being fatphobic or condescending or worse, and tends to derail my plans really fast because i lean towards wanting to do worse by myself just to spite them. so i've figured out the solution: tell them. nothing.
there is a very small crossover on here of people who know my family irl so if you see me talking about any of this at any point please do NOT mention it to them thx

People say it takes a few months to notice the differences in your body, whether in weight or visible muscle, when you start working out. It may take less time to notice improvements in strength, how many reps you can do, how much you can lift, etc., but that also takes a while. But flexibility when you start stretching? If you do it right, you start noticing improvements in only a few weeks. Realizing how much deeper I can go and how flexible I'm becoming is one of my biggest motivators, if I'm honest.

welcome to my series, self compassion and love, where I list low cost, low consumption ideas to look after myself (and you, if you choose to join)
our first subtopic is digital consumption and emotional wellbeing
at this point we all know an overuse or misuse of media consumption can have poor negative emotional outcomes for every one of us (have you ever seen an ipad baby without an ipad?)
but we also know we enjoy consuming digital media whether for entertainment or education so while most people could abstain from social media completely (only use internet for work/studying/household tasks) many of use would choose not to miss out on its benefits
here are a few options to consume media on your terms in ways that make you happy:
first, audit: think through an average school/work/life week and when you consume media and what media (tv, youtube, social media)
next, plan: you can choose to cut the volume, type or both depending on which is causing you problems
to reduce the volume: you have too much time (which is actually a good thing!)
no need to delete or unfollow anything, just decide when+how much is acceptable
then for all the other parts of your day, find alternatives
ex. morning commute=reading a library book, kids sport practice=crochet time, waiting for facemask=calling a friend, folding laundry=open window and people/bird watch, gym=music
then when it comes to evening time on the sofa, enjoy those tiktoks!
to reduce the type:
obvi if one app is ruining your life don’t hesitate to delete
barring that try an unfollowing spree
remove the app from portable device (phone, tablet) so you go for other entertainment when out an about, limiting your use of it
give yourself alternative entertainment options on your phone: download libby for books (or google books or kindle app etc), try a spotify podcast, find a meditation you like, write the steps in your notes so you can set a timer and meditate

Listening to this episode reminded me why it’s best to disengage with narcissistic people. They will wear you down into submission with their lies, lack of reality, and other verbal abuse.

Introduction
Hello there, My name is Anna, and I'm a pathological procrastinator. To put it bluntly, if I want to see a significant change in my behaviour, I need to build a system that will support me on my way up. Of course, I'm not starting from scratch (almost nobody is), but there's still plenty to learn.
In addition, I intend on working more with my identity than with bare results, as I know it's the best way to make a change last. However, the process is equally important, so today I'm embarking on a journey to build that productivity habit.
First, I shall articulate who I want to be:
A healthy person. In and out, emotionally and physically. It's someone who has a healthy diet and exercise regime but also cares about her mental state and is mindful of the narrative she participates in.
A certified specialist. The one who complies with the high standards of her industry, hard and soft skills included.
A financially stable person. No debts, but savings and investments.
A writer. I already am, but my goal is to be published and have a good writing routine. This one requires time to unlock, as my priorities are different now.
Second, what I'm going to do:
Workout 3+ times per week, count my macronutrients, eat more whole foods, take supplements that were prescribed to me. Practise stoicism, stay mindful.
Study my target language five or more times per week (passive input doesn't count). Work in my field, read related literature once a week or more, and thus stay up-to-date in my knowledge.
Document my income, save at least 1/3 every month, pay off debts, and reduce impulsive purchases.
Write from 200 to 500 words every day (if it's a novel) or publish two new chapters a month (if it's the fanfic), read special literature, and plan my stories out. Of course, it's not ultimate. I'll add any nessesary items later.
Thus, I decided to participate in 100 days of productivity challenge.

Eyebright (Euphrasia officinalis)
Eyebright is astringent, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory and can be used to treat conjunctivitis. It's also helpful for runny noses and brilliant as an extract in an eye cream.
Spotted in the Valley of Rocks in Lynton in August. First time I’ve ever found eyebright!
