hiii hello hiiiii i'm back with some more writing :3
writing for: Arven, Drayton, and Kieran
genre: selfship (x reader)
here are my general character interpretations of these three!
Arven:
loyal to a fault, because he's got abandonment issues. he never had anyone there for him besides his mabostiff, so he wants to be there for you.
his love languages are words of affirmation and acts of service. he'd visit you even if you were on the other side of the world.
he's an early bird. wakes up fairly early in the morning (~6 AM to 7 AM) to do meal preps and feed mabostiff. this comes with its perks though! you get to hear his deep morning voice and see his hair messy. :>
he secretly loves stargazing. to him, there's nothing better than sitting under the stars, hearing the outdoor ambience of the night.
he's super caring towards his pokemon! he feeds them on time and gives them extra love and treats.
speaking of food, he's got tons of recipes to share. he can make a KILLER mac and cheese. also, he absolutely wears aprons that have cute pokemon designs on them.
unironically describes his mood with food flavors. says he's feeling "sour" when he's upset, or "sweet" when he's excited.
he's like.... a puppy..,, he'll follow you anywhere and guard you when others try to steal you away..... (can you tell he's my favorite)
Drayton:
lowkey possessive. not just of you, but of things he's attached to. everything from his pokemon to the comfortable school life he's grown so fond of. he wouldnt trade them for the world.
his love languages are quality time and physical touch. he's a guy who loves cuddling and hanging out. he'd probably fall asleep with you while watching an hour-long youtube video about obscure 3ds game lore.
can't cook for shit!! he will literally just buy instant noodles and microwaveable meals because its easy and convenient LMAO
he doesn't like going out since he's lazy, but he's absolutely down to go shopping if its for snacks. he knows all the best ones.
he loves to battle! partly because he likes showing off how strong he is, but also because he thinks of it as a way to destress.
you'd think for being so lazy he wouldn't practice self-care, and this is mostly true-- but he definitely takes good care of his pokemon. that duraldon he traded you? make sure to keep it clean, it likes being polished every now and then. his flygon? it loves spicy foods. oh, and make sure to trim the scales on his dragonite every week. it gets a little moody otherwise.
he's the king of "this image/video is really funny but why do you have so many of them" over texting. he has a whole stash of silly images.
Kieran:
he gets anxious pretty easily, but he's usually more relaxed around you. he's also not used to receiving compliments, and will absolutely get shy and embarassed if you compliment him.
his love languages are words of affirmation and giving gifts! he gifted you an applin that one time, but he also shares his candy with you. what a sweetheart 🥺
speaking of sweets, he likes hard candies and chocolate! his fav chocolate is white chocolate. (conversely, carmine likes dark chocolate the most.)
gets both nervous and excited when he battles you. he hopes to win, but he also just wants to have fun!
he likes to listen to music when he needs to concentrate. it's good background noise, and more importantly, he is absolutely bopping his head to those tunes.
he likes alternative and indie rock music, plus edm and lofi. his playlist may or may not have a few "edgier" songs too, like "Gasoline" by Halsey and "Sarcasm" by Get Scared.
he absolutely had a nightcore phase.
regarding cooking, he prefers to get food from restaurants rather than cooking at home. he's not super confident in his cooking skills, but he isn't the worst at it either. (looking at you, drayton...)
he doesn't really understand internet culture since he doesn't have a phone. you might have to teach him about it yourself out of pity, because he gets so confused when people start saying they're getting "rizzed up" or something...
bro is absolutely autism-coded (speaking as someone with autism) and he hyperfixates sooo easily. he'll get obsessed with something for weeks and infodump to you constantly, and he definitely loses sleep over his interests. he's so shy about doing this with anyone else, so please lend an ear when you can. 🥹

Can we get poly submas x DILF reader who has triplets from a previous marriage? Can you also make the triplets identical I just think that would be funny lol.
Poly Submas x Dilf Reader with Triplets
It's pretty obvious that people know who the twins are by this point. They're battle masters, train conductors, and are considered Unova's most sought after bachelors. You know them well actually, considering that they're your boyfriends.
You're a father of identical triplets, all girls. Every year you all dress up as Professor Utonium and the Powerpuff Girls. You always tell the girls that they can ask for a different themed costume but they insist on dressing up as Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup.
The girls are candy sweet, you love them so much! People often times have their own little nicknames for them. Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, or Eenie, Miney, Mo, sort of names.
The girls from oldest to youngest are named: Momoka, Hana, and Akari. The girls are adopted and you all immigrated over to the Unova region after you were able to secure a better job for a life for all four of you.
The girls are a handful at times but you're quite thankful to have the twins as your boyfriends. When you first immigrated, you were showing the girls on how to ride the subways safely. They all attended the same private school. The four of you would ride together in the morning and then the girls would walk over to where you worked at the Nimbasa Library. You'd all get lunch and when you went back to work, the girls would do their homework and play on the computers until it was time to go home.
There was a time though, the girls wanted to go hang out with some classmates. You were obviously very worried about them going on their own so you insisted that they take one of your Pokemons with you. But at some point, the girls got lost in the subway station, at three separate locations, and were crying for your help in the group chat.
You immediately went to look for them, asking for help. You found one of your girls but then when you found Hana and Akari, they were with one of the twins. Hana had found Emmet, and somehow charmed her way into getting him to buy her a lollipop. Akari was with Ingo, the two holding hands together as her other hand held a toy he had given her. You thanked the twins profusely for their assistance.
Since that day forward, the twins became almost an integral part of your life. Somehow the three of you have similar work schedules and train routes. In the morning, you'd see the twins on the same train to Nimbasa from Anville Town. The girls were happy to see the twins, but after learning that Hana got candy, the other two girls often ask when they'd get their share. It was here that you explained to the twins that the girls learned the concept of sharing. On the occasion you don't buy singular treats, you buy them a big candy bar and tell them to share it evenly.
On the train rides back home, the girls are often talking to the twins about their day. Talking about their school subjects and what not. At least until they found out that Ingo and Emmet are among Unova's best trainers and then they get excited and ask many questions, including wanting to see their pokemon.
When you all arrive at the same destination for home, the girls insist that the twins come over for dinner. The twins at first are apprehensive, but the girls insist and beg for you to let them join. Thankfully you have enough food in the fridge to prepare a large meal for them.
What started off as a coincidence, then intentions, easily became domestic. You at first tried to keep your romantic life with the twins a secret from the girls, at least until you gave them an explanation on gay people. When they saw Emmet and Ingo give you a kiss on the cheek, they all screamed in delight.
Birthdays and holidays became bigger with them in your lives. You wouldn't have it any other way.

Hello Favorite Author,
I hope this ask finds you well.
Will you ever grace us with the story of how Demon Dream took an innocent and virginal Priest and turned him into a cock hungry whore that likes to get bred on an altar?
It's no problem if you would prefer to keep that piece of fine literature to yourself but I respectfully implore upon your most generous grace.
Warmest Regards,
Some Rando That Keeps Refreshing Your Tumblr Every 5 Minutes
Aww 🖤 This ask is so sweet 🥺 I'm actually not feeling very well rn, but your words cheered me up! 😊
I don't know if I will ever like, write an entire 50k of that actual story (because I think that's what we're looking at here 😂) but I can certainly tell you some stuff that I want to write, from the time we see Dream and Hob get married in Kyrie Eleison, to when we see them again in Offertory.
(I say this now but no one knows what Dream is planning for me when NaNoWriMo comes around 👀)
CW: mildly spicy, plus a sprinkle of blasphemy 👀
Hob arrives with Dream in Hell, right at the gates of Dream's territory. Jessamy and Matthew are excitedly welcoming Dream back, but then--
--Oh? Who is this? A new friend? A new parent?! 🐶🐶 They're very excited, especially Matthew, but Hob is like, literally afraid of everything because God have mercy on him, he's in actual Hell now. 😭🙏 He is overwhelmed af. He is highkey praying the rosary in his mind and does like 20 Hail Mary's instead of just 10 per mystery. He clings to Dream who happily bridal carries him over all the thresholds until they get to the master bedroom.
And after the sweetness of their first night, I want to have some slow burn of Hob like, actually falling in love with Dream. (side note: Dream has been pointy horns over clawed feet in love with Hob since before they got married 😂) Like, yeah, he's totally hot, but there's so much more to him?? And he's actually nicer than some religious people Hob knows on Earth?? And he makes his heart flutter when he's near???
The situation escalates to where Hob is the one coming to Dream for sex (because Dream will never force him. No, no, no. Dream is willing to wait and have Hob be comfortable first 🥰).
They have schmoopy staring-into-each-other's eyes sex, with Dream always telling Hob how he's so beautiful and divine, and Hob just often looking away with tears in his eyes because he's never felt this good before. Like yeah, Dream makes him cum and that feels so good, but his heart also feels so full?
Menwhile Dream is worrying that Hob wants to go back. (And he will worry endlessly. He never tells Hob because man's got enough on his plate being in Hell and married to one of its lords after being a priest on Earth. And not just a priest, but a good Catholic one. It's the rarest of the rare pokemons. So Dream understands. It's a huge adjustment.)
Something something until Hob becomes comfortable enough to seek Dream out outside their bedroom in order to have something in his hole because nothing else would do.
Not his fingers, not his plugs, not the dildo Dream left him that is shaped exactly like Dream's cock... Nothing would do!
And at first maybe he's teary eyed and feeling so ashamed, asking for what he wants, what he's been needing since Dream left him like an hour ago to attend to his duties, but Dream is always so very patient with him. 🖤 He always gives Hob his cock, no questions asked, and kisses him sweetly while he works to take Dream's entire length inside himself. 🥰
Hob loves sinking onto Dream's cock just so satisfied and full, rubbing his lower stomach where Dream's outline is showing, cuddling up to him and not clocking anything else in the room. Like, literally, Dream's other siblings could be in the room and Hob wouldn't notice them until he has taken Dream to the hilt because he's such a horny little mess.
There will be large sections of the (hypothetical? 👀) 50k devoted to me showing how Hob spends his first few days or weeks in Hell being highkey afraid, him slowly getting used to life in the castle, and of course, the entire honeymoon month(s) that's just Dream taking very good care of him 24/7 and teaching him all the ways he could be pleasured. 😏
Hob definitely learns a lot of things about himself. 💯 He arrives in Hell so naive, not even knowing what a plug is for, or that he can orgasm when his prostate is massaged. But once his and Dream's honeymoon month is over (and okay, technically, their honeymoon month will last maybe like...idk, 90 days instead of 30), Hob is just. An entire different person, almost.
He still has his little religious habits that he's trying to stop doing (like saying grace before he eats or singing Christmas songs), but he's very willing to unlearn all the stuff he learned as a priest, and learn the truth straight from Dream's mouth.
(Examples: God can be whatever gender they want to be, that entire thing with Mary and Gabriel, how the phrase 'turn the other cheek' doesn't mean accept abuse, etc.)*
And then I want to end the (hypothetical?? 👀) 50k just before December 24 in the story, when Hob is happy as a clam, living his life with his loving husband and their two hellhounds, with all of Dream's subjects now believing in miracles, because Hob has brought life and laughter and happiness to Dream's territory that it almost feels like stepping in pleasantly warm summer sunshine again.
(And then of course Dream worries like an idiot because he mistakes Hob's happy humming to him wanting to go back to his old life. 👀 But thankfully that gets resolved in Offertory, so yay? 😊)
--
Notes:
'the entire thing with Mary and Gabriel' is based from a short story I read a long time ago on an actual published (fiction) book. 👀 It was dark, but I liked it anyway 👀
turning the other cheek - When Jesus is still alive and the Romans are still in power, this means that the person turning their cheek demands equality from the person who slapped them. It's an entire socio-economic thing. 🤷‍♀️ So when someone tells you otherwise, expecting you to simply accept more abuse because God/Jesus/the Bible says so and martyrdom is what gets you to heaven, it's not true at all. If there is a God, and if they are good, then they would want you to be happy and to be treated well. 🖤

Ahhhhhhh I love your blog so much your writing is just *chefs kiss* anyways I was wondering if I could perhaps get some HCs for Hassel and Larry (together or separate it doesn’t really matter) with an enthusiastic S/O that loves Fairy types 👀
Hiiii! I did them separate, hope thats okay! It was just what ended up happening at the time. I hope you enjoy! :D
Larry & Hassel With An Enthusiastic S/O Who Likes Fairy-Types
Larry
- The two of you make quite the pair. Dull Larry and his cheerful partner. You match well with his Oricorio. You, your Ribombee, and his Oricorio never fail to put a little smile on Larry’s face after a hard day at work. You’re always excited about every little thing. It’s different from his pessimistic outlook and a breath of fresh air if he’s being honest. As you talk, you can see him watching you with a soft expression.
- Larry has little to no experience with Fairy-types. One trainers Hattrem, attempted to “silence him violently once” though, which he brings up as an anecdote when you explain your fondness to him. He can see the resemblance you have with your Pokemon. Sweet and excitable, but packing a mean punch when it comes down to the wire. I think out of all Fairy-types, he would like the Snubbull line. Not only does he think they’re cute, but he can also relate to people not wanting to be around him because of his outward demeanor. Though, he’s more dull than scary.
Hassel
- As a dragon trainer, Hassel knows better than anyone that Fairy-types are not to be underestimated. That sentiment extends to you. He loves your enthusiasm and the optimism that accompanies it. Seeing you smile makes his day all the more bright. It’s a talent to be able to see the beauty in the world around you, one you have mastered. It’s one of his (many) favorite qualities about you. The two of you can get loud when you talk about something you both enjoy. The excitement steadily raises the volume of your voice until it's at a fever pitch, and you both get told to stop shouting in the hall.
- Hassel likes that you have an opposing type to his team. It makes him feel romantic. When you ask about it, he confesses that he can imagine you both as Romeo and Juliet, minus the tragedy, of course. If there is a Fairy-type Hassel's particularly fond of, it’s Klefki. His family owned one. It was passed down through the generations and was the holder of many vault keys. Hassel has fond memories of playing with the little Pokemon when he was younger. The jingling of keys is nostalgic to him.

Building off of the bento story there are things called husbento which is pretty much just 'bento for my husband'. If Ingo ever hears his s/o call it that the man would melt from pure joy. Think it would be kind of cute if his s/o had like space online where they post pics of the bento they made, or maybe they make videos showing people how to cook the stuff that they put into Ingo's bento. Maybe every Friday they make the cute special bento for him. Sort of to give him something to look forward to at the end of each week. The same could happen for Emmet, but he gets the bonus of getting a cute Pokémon themed sweet every Friday. One Friday it's cookies that look like Archen. Another Friday it is a Durant dirt pie pudding dessert. If they can branch off from the twins Pokémon (and their Pokémon) they could probably make Applin apple dumpling, or Poke Ball Cake Pops. The possibilities are endless. Bonus thought. If Ingo's s/o does make videos of the bento making process maybe sometimes Erin appears in the videos to help. His s/o makes sure that no one ever sees their faces, but you can hear Erin's enthusiasm at the idea of helping to make his dad a special lunch. Ingo's heart would melt at that as well. Heck, he would probably save a few of those videos onto his phone.
Ingo finally encouraged to always take his lunch break to enjoy the lovely food his beloved made for him and stop overworking himself. The special Friday bento always has him excited for his break, and he actually rushes off to enjoy it. Everyone's happy Ingo is finally taking better care of himself.
Emmet is literally vibrating with excitement for his special Friday bento. He needs with cute dessert his darling made for him. He's literally rushing through people to get to it. His smile is terrifyingly large as he indulges in whatever cute sweet he was given.
The video idea... Just getting tons of views as people wonder who your husband is. There's so, so many theories from the shape of the pokemon dishes. They've determined he's Unovan but nothing else. It's a popular pass time to try to guess which possible Unovan figure receives such a cute lunch (or if it's some random business man).
Erin popping up to help on his little step stool and going on and on about how he wants to make something Litwick themed for his daddy. His face is definitely obscured, but sadly, his constant blabbing about trains and battling makes it very obvious who his father is. Ingo does tear up and let out a soft bravo as he watches his son make him a small Litwick cake or some kind of jelly to look like a Litwick flame. (The viewers find it adorable the mysterious husband has such a sweet son.)
Oh, and Emma and Inka getting in on making lunches with their parent for Emmet. Emma tries to sneak in sweets for her papa while Inka tries to sneak them away for herself. They both do try to make something some cute for their dad. Inka accidentally gives him food poisoning, but Emmet still thanks her for her hard work.

Submas Reacts to drawings you made (And one of them!)
Ingo
He finds the act of sketching to be such a soothing hobby, and he loves to watch you work, bent over and concentrating, watching as you make something come alive on the page. Landscapes, pokemon, people, he loves to see it. He’s not the best at drawing, and he never has the time to do so, so he loves to see others work.
He’ll cheer you on and break your concentration by accident if he spots you sketching something out. After that he’ll do the best he can to be quiet while you work. It’s a nice feeling, to be with you while you work.
He’s the sort to keep all of your sketches, even the thrown away ones.  Quietly though. You might find them while cleaning his desk and not even remember most of them. He blushes and mutters an apology when you present them to him. He just loves your work, you know?
If you draw him, and he finds out, he blushes heavily. He really wants to see the finished product. If he finds out while you’re drawing, he gets so nervous and stiff. How should he react now that he knows you’re recording his movements? He’s never felt so self conscious, even when the paparazzi came over to film the opening of the battle train. Yet he feels imbued with power, somehow, confidence, because his s/o deems him a worthy subject to draw.
No matter how good or bad the sketch turns out, he loves it.
You make him seem so strong yet gentle. Is that what he looks like to you? He hugs you tenderly in his arms and whispers a thank you.
That gets put in the folder, definitely. He really wishes for a copy to frame in his house.
Emmet
Emmet is a very active person, but even he can enjoy the beauty and art of drawing, the ability and effort to take in every detail? Veerry important for battling.
Emmet, being the little cryptid he is, will hover over you while you draw, big ole smile on his face. He will do this for however long it takes. It’s both creepy and kind of sweet. He just likes to be with you. Also he likes the squeaks you make when you realise he’s been looming over you like a goddamn vampire.
Emmet also keeps your sketches, but he’s the sort to show them off to people despite your embarrassment. Everyone! Come see my s/o’s work! Look how wonderful they are. Aren’t they great?! If you’re seriously too embarrassed he won’t show them, but he might keep them in his pocket. It’s a good luck charm!
If he realises he’s being drawn, he is excited. And good luck trying to get a natural pose for him because this dude is definitely showing off. And glancing at you every two seconds. His back is straight, his pose is perfect, and he is also probably going to challenge the nearest person so that you can get a cool action pose. (Good for gestures not much else)
When he sees the final sketch he’s the sort to point out little errors to make it as perfect as possible, then compliment you on a job well done. He looks so cool and stylish, yet cute! You get swept up in so many kisses.
Then he is definitely running off with it to boast to everybody. Good luck getting it back.

Series: Pokemon Horizons
Characters: Main plot: Friede, Murdock, Rockruff / Side plot: Diana, Liko, Roy, Mollie (Very minor part)
Summary:
Murdock getting sick, but doesn't want to be a burden, so he tries to hide it. When everyone else finds out they get worried, resulting in Murdock having a panic attack, but Friede and Rockruff help him through it <3
----------------------------------------
Like every morning, Murdock wakes up at 5am so he can prepare breakfast. He doesn't mind getting up that early day by day if it means he will once again be blessed with the brightest smiles of everyone happily eating a good meal. What more could he ask for? However today he felt a bit more tired than usual and his body felt heavier "Am i getting old or what?" the cook jokingly asked himself trying to put those feelings and thought aside and focusing at the task beforehand. Murdock now went to the bathroom to do his morning routine and dressing up. He doesn't wear the most fancy clothes, but he still thinks a neat appearance is important. Concentrated and skilled he perfectly tied his deep red neckerchief in no time. One last glance into the mirror and he is ready to go...at least he thought he was until he noticed the dark circles under his eyes "I look like I haven't slept in days..." the chef goes a little closer to the mirror to have a better view about this whole situation and then let out a annoyed sigh. "Can't be helped...sure hope no one gonna see them" Right at this moment Rockruff rubbed it's head against the cooks leg to say good morning, still half asleep, trying to softly bark but failing and yawning instead. Murdock couldn't help but chuckle at this cute sight. He promptly went to scoop up the little puppy, gently petting its head "You know you don't have to get up with me" that ironic question earned the chef only another yawn. Knowing Rockruff wouldn't stay in bed even if he tugged the puppy back into it, he decided to grab Rockruffs favourite pillow and take it with them. Murdock silently opend the kitchen door and walked directly to the small stool, put the pillow on top of it and then gently layed Rockruff down on it, who gladly took the chance to make itself comfortable and with another yawn the little puppy curled up into a ball of fluff and doozed of again. The cook snagged a quick photo of this adorable sight. Pleased with the result Murdock put away his phone and then finally started what he was coming here for in the first place. He already knew what to prepare, because yesterday Roy convinced everyone to have pancakes today. Murdock agreed excited, already thinking about what toppings would be fitting. To satisfy the taste of everyone he decided to make different toppings, while also offering the tradional one with just a knob of butter and syrup. Berries came to his mind at first, they can be sweet, spicy or sour, making them perfect to suit everyone's taste. Knowing certain people would love something more hearty, he also added fried bacon on his To-Do-List. Now having everything figured out he wasted no time to make the pancake batter, humming a little tune. Some time passed and the kitchen was now filled with the scent of freshly made pancakes, mixed with freshly fried bacon. When Murdock was about to make the last pancake, he suddenly felt dizzy and his vision went blurry. Shortly after the smell of a slightly burnt pancake pulled him out of this state and he hastely took the pan of the stove. Luckily the pancake was still good to eat so the cook added it to the already existing stack and heaved out a relived sigh to clear his mind "Pweh that almost went wrong..." He closed his eyes inhaling deeply serveral times. His hands resting on the kitchen counter, supporting his weight. "Calm down and pull yourself together or you gonna make everyone worry..." Murdock then softly slapped his own face with both hands "YOSH!! Let's go! Everyone surley already waiting to get their stomaches filled" With that out of the way he proceeded to set up the dining table and with a joyully "BREAKFAST IS READY!" everyone was gathered around it in no time.
While Murodock was filling up the plates of everyone witha delicious pancake, Friede eyed his friend preciesly, feeling something was off. Immediatly noticing the dark circles underneath the cooks eyes. He knew Murdock well enough to know it would be a bad idea to ask him what's wrong in front of everyone so he decided it's best to wait until he can talk to him in private.
After a "Bon Appetit!" everyone started to stuff their faces, except Diana. Liko noticing her grandma not touching the food. "Are you feeling unwell?" she asked worried. Diana shaking her head "No I'm fine!" she replied to her granddaughter with a smile, what vanished promptly when she continued to speak "But I think someone else should be in bed rather than staying in the kitchen." After a short pause everyone now were staring at Murdock. Who, to his misfortune didn't realized that at first and kept eaiting, looking unfocused and absent-minding did just reinforce Dianas statement. The unusual and aprupt silence snapped the brown-haired man back from his thoughts and he nervously looked at everyone "I..is something wrong...?!" he truly had no idea why everyone was staring at him like that...Oh no did he fuck up the pancakes after all? Was the first thing that come to his mind "Is...is something wrong with the food or...?" but everyone kept silently staring and that made him so unbelieveable uncomfortable that he felt the urge to just leave the room.
"Are you okay?" Friede finally asks breaking the silence. Looking at Murdock with a soft but worried face. "Huh? Why are you asking?" Murdock countered with a question, like he had to defend himself. "You weren't responding to us until a minute ago" the professor didn't liked to pressure his best friend like that, but he thought it's best if he is the one asking further, after Diana already brought this up. The cook now starts to sweat a little and his heart beating a bit faster. "Well I'm....just a little bit under the weather I guess Ahaha" He awkwardly was rubbing the back of his head. "You should really rest if you arent feeling well" Liko said with a worried look on her face. "Liko is right! My grandpa always got mad at me when I didn't stayed in bed when I was sick" Roy agreed. Murdock started to sllightly panic now, his pulse rising, his breath getting unsteady. "I can't enjoy the delicious food you prepared without feeling guilty, knowing you made it while feeling unwell" Diana then added. Friede noticed that this was to much for Murdock, but before he could say anything, the cook suddenly stood up, not daring to look at anyone "S...Sorry I didn't want to worry you all, but I'm fine...it's probably just a mild cold thats all..." He then wanted to grab Rockruff to hug it, but the little puppy had other plans, instantly barking at him and biting his right hand pretty hard.
Everyone was shocked. Murdock got caught so off-guard that he fell backwards and landed on the floor, now sitting on his butt while holding the hand that just got bitten. He now fully started to panic. He tried to steadily breath in and out but to no avail, he was slighty hypervetilating instead, the blood pressure getting so strong that his vison and every sound was dimmed. He noticed Friede was talking to him, looking very worried, but he couldn't hear a word. The chef felt like drowning right now...He need to get out of here immediatly "S....So...Sorry I didn't wanted to cause you any trouble..I'm fine...I...just need some sleep so please excuse me" He avoids eye-contact and stood up so fast that he got dizzy, almost tripped, but still managed to leave the room on wonky feet. It all happend so fast that everyone else just stared at the closed door. Rockruff tried to run after his dad, but wasn't fast enough so it now stood before the closed door scratching at it desperately, pleading to get out. Friede promptly picked up the Puppy "You feel sorry biting him right?" He asked while gently petting its head to calm it down. A whimpering bark said it all and also the sad expression on its face. "He knows you didn't meant it...You just wanted him to rest, didn't you?" Rockruff sadly nodded. Liko and Roy then simultaneously ask "Did we say something wrong?! Is he now mad at us?" Friede looked at both kids. They had teary eyes and most likely felt guilty so he beamed a soft smile at them "Don't worry he absolutely isn't mad at you two or anyone else" his expression changed, now looking concerned "The only one he is mad at is himself" "Hmm? Why would he be mad at himself"' Roy is confused and so was Liko. Friede heaved out a sigh, thinking about how to best describe it shortly "It's a long story, but he easily feels like a burden if he can't be of service and it gets even worse when he realized that he made others worry about him" The professor paused for a second making a thinking face "Well it's complicated...but to make it short, he had to take care of his little sister like an adult while still being a child himself. Not being allowed to act like a child and having to deal with responsibilities not being appropriate for the age, traumatized him to the point that he is still is struggeling with it to this point. I gonna explain this more in detail at another time" the kids just nodded, still being worried "Ruff..." the Puppy let out sadly "Now excuse me I need to deliver his fave emotional support puppy to him"
"He most likely is having a panic attack right now, so try to calm him down, try to talk to him without pressuring him, just being by his side is already helping" the nurse instructed and Friede nodded in response "I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that in front of everyone, but I thought it was necessary" Diana apologized. Friede softly smiled at her "It's okay, you coudn't know that this would be hard for him" The white-haired man than stared at the food and added "But I'm sure Murdock would be really sad if all this food would go to waste, so please continue eating" with a rather said smile he left the room and shorty after you could heard some running footsteps fading in the distance. Murdock somehow made it to his room, closing the door behind him he now was leaning against it. He felt lightheaded, his heart still racing, his mouth was completely dry and his chest hurted with every breath he tried to take in. Making his muscles tensing up even further. He manage to walk to his bed and then let himself fall to the floor, resting his back against it while gripping his chest tightly, trying to ease the pain. He felt so overwhelmingly anxious, the inabilty to breath properly made him hyperventilating, sweat poured down his face. He started to shiver and tremble more with every second that was passing. He didn't realized when he began to cry, he just wanted this terrible feeling to go away...Why can't he take in a breath without it feeling like his chest is burning up? He now sat there hugging his legs so hard that his hands started to feel numb. He was scared, the tears won't stop, the pain won't stop PLEASE JUST MAKE IT STOP he silently pleaded, his whole body trembling. Suddenly a warm and gently hand was slightly squeezing his, making him tense up at fist. At the same time he felt something fluffy pressing against his chest. His vision was still blurry so he coulnd't tell who was comforting him, but knowing someone was there made him feel safer. He now was able to slow down his breathing, getting it steadier with every breath, the unbeareable pain in his chest finally vanished, for the most part at least. Severeal minutes past before he could lift his head to actually check who was holding his hand. He was met with a warm smile from Friede. "Can you hear me again now?" he softly asked. "Yes" Murdock answered slowly, still feeling dizzy and also very exhausted. It took him a moment to realize what just happend "I'm sorry...I...I didn't wanted to cause any trouble...I'm" he tried to apologize but got interupted by Friede "You are not a burden you know?" Murdock froze for a moment before he kept apologizing "But...I made everyone worry just because I couldn't admit to myself that I'm feeling unwell..." tears started to form in his eyes again. The next thing he knew was that Friede pulled him into his embrance, gently stroking the back of his head "Shhh...it's okay to get sick and need to rest. No one is gonna hate you for that or thinks you causing problems. We all just want you to take it easy and get well again." The cook couldn't hold back his tears and now was clinging to his best friend, heavely sobbing. Friede kept stroking the other mans head until Murdock seemed to have calmed down again. He then helped the bigger man to properly sit on his bed instead of the floor, who was now hugging Rockruff. The little puppy still felt bad about biting Murdock, so it kept licking his hand. But the cook was stopping it, petting Rockruffs head gently "I'm not mad at you. It was your way of telling me I should take care of myself, wasn't it?" the chef softly stated, getting licked at his face now as respond. "Stop that's tickling." Murdock let out a small chuckle before silently glaring at Friede several times until words finally left his mouth "Thank you." the cook hastely averted his gaze, still feeling a bit guilty
"I'm glad I could help you." a brightly smile formed on Friedes lips, motivating Murdock to smile himself, even if it came off a bit uncertain. "So now that that's done you probabaly should lay down and sleep." while the professor was saying this he already guided his friend to lay down and tugged him under the sheets. Rockruff also making itself comfortable right next to Murdocks chest. Friede lightly squeezed the other mans hand once more before getting ready to leave the room, but was stopped by a hand clasping his wrist. "P...please don't go" Friede could tell that Murdock sounded scared, no wonder after such an emotional dragging situation he went through. "Don't worry I will keep you company until you fell asleep." sitting down at the side of Murdocks bed, holding his hand again, feeling a soft squeeze in return. It didn't take long until he heared a soft snore. "He must have been really exhausted" Friede softly whispered to himself, while cherishing the now peaceful smile on Murdocks face.

teal mask fixit-fic on the fly: END!!
(Prev Chapters: Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 -
Part 5 - Part 6 - Part 7 - Part 8 - Part 9 - Part 10)
Ogerpon had a very, vey busy day that day.
It started early in the morning, when two of the humans came to her den at the crack of dawn. They were the humans that reminded her of sunshine when they smiled. The two girls were the most energetic humans Ogerpon had ever seen, and their laughter was so contageous. She followed them on a hike and together they traveled far beyond the Oni Mountains, to a beautiful forest Ogerpon had not visited since she'd been with her previous friend. The woods looked just as they had in the past, their beauty perfectly preserved. The three of them basked in the glow of the morning sun and breathed the soft, sweet air. They waded and played in the lake under the waterfall, ate berries, and the humans even invited Ogerpon to spar against some of their pokemon friends. She could tell that their pokemon friends loved them very, very much. And she could tell the humans loved their pokemon friends and each other very, very much, too. Ogerpon had so much fun.
When Ogerpon returned from the forest, the human with the enormous bag full of rare, delicious berries came by. This was the human who reminded her a little of her previous friend; both men had a quiet sadness in their eyes but also a deep kindness, behind it all. He had been nothing but gentle and patient with Ogerpon, and he had been the one to soothe her when she was at her worst-- when her darkest nightmares had returned in the flesh to haunt her. Together they walked to the apple orchard, wandering among the trees and picking out only the best of the best fruits. Then the human took her to the town and showed Ogerpon how to make candied apples. The human was endlessly attentive and patient, teaching Ogerpon every step, making sure she knew how to do it and that she was careful not to get burned on the sticky, hot candy as it cooled. When they were done, they tasted even better then the ones at the festival, and they filled her with such a happy, warm feeling.
Ogerpon came across another one of the humans while she was in town, the one with a soft voice and the big shimmering eyes that looked like Hoothoot. She reminded Ogerpon of a fairy type; very sweet and mellow, but also very strong if someone tried to hurt her friends. The human was holding a little box that flashed bright colors, and she stared hard at it as she pushed buttons on it. Ogerpon had seen boxes like these sometimes, but only from a distance-- the other humans liked to keep them in their pockets. She did not really understand why they found them so exciting, though. But this human gave her the little box so she could see for herself. The little box had lots of shapes inside it in different colors, and the human liked to push the shapes around until all the same ones were together. It reminded Ogerpon of sorting berries into piles. The human let her try, and she was so proud of how good Ogerpon was at the game! She also showed Ogerpon that the little box could play music. Ogerpon was glad the human showed her the little box, because she was the first human to bother doing it.
Ogerpon explored more of the village after that, because she had really only seen it from a distance, in the past. Lots of humans saw her and waved, and some of them brought her nice food or toys. She followed the path made of black rocks until she reached the end, and then she saw another human she recognized. It was the human with a very loud voice. She reminded Ogerpon of a Mightyena, with her dark fur and her angry eyes and the way she'd growl and bark. But she didn't always growl, and sometimes she was very nice. It looked like she was digging in the dirt, and Ogerpon wondered if she was trying to bury a bone. Ogerpon inched closer and the human saw her; Ogerpon flinched, hoping the human wouldn't bark at her, but she didn't. She showed Ogerpon the hole in the dirt, and it looked like she was planting berries so they would grow!
There was an older human there too. It looked like the older human had a hard time crouching down and digging, so the girl was helping him. Ogerpon decided to help the humans, so she used her vines to dig into the dirt and plant the berries. The humans were so happy to have her help! The girl spent a very long time pulling out other plants so just the berry bushes were left, and trimming the bushes, and watering them, so Ogerpon helped her do those things, too. Ogerpon realized how nice the girl was, because she spent so much time helping the older human. Ogerpon thought about it, and she decided the girl probably just growled and barked because she wanted to protect her home or her friends. That's why Mightyena did that too, so it made sense.
When they were all done gardening, the humans invited Ogerpon inside their den. There was another older human in there, and she was cooking food. The girl helped her prepare the food, and then all three humans ate it, but they gave Ogerpon some of the food, too. It tasted very, very good. When they were done eating, another human appeared. Ogerpon recognized this human, too.
This was the boy that reminded Ogerpon of the face on her Wellspring Mask.
It used to be that the humans in the village stayed far, far away from Ogerpon. Sometimes if they saw her, they threw rocks at her and yelled. Usually they would just run away, though. They stopped going to the mountains very much, and they stopped leaving the village at all when it got dark. But this boy was not like the other villagers. He would go into the mountains a lot, even when it was dark. He would walk right into Ogerpon's den and look around, and Ogerpon realized he was looking for her. She was scared of the boy. She thought maybe the villagers sent him to hunt her down and hurt her. She would hide whenever he appeared, but sometimes he would wait a very long time in her den. Sometimes he would appear at very unexpected times. Sometimes he would search over all the places Ogerpon usually walked and the places where she got her food. It made Ogerpon scared, knowing the boy could always appear, always looking for her.
Ogerpon was never really sure if he would hurt her. He did not look like a mean boy. Mostly he just looked sad. But she was too scared to risk approaching him. Until one day, the boy appeared with another human in her den. The other human was not a villager. Ogerpon could tell just by looking at her. It was very, very rare for humans outside of the village to come here. So Ogerpon got curious. And she got hopeful. She knew good humans existed, like her old friend. Maybe . . . maybe this new human was a nice human? Maybe the boy wasn't so bad, either?
Ogerpon finally dared to do something she hadn't done in a very, very long time. She went to the village festival. Some of the humans seemed nice to her, but she got scared and dropped her mask before running away. A few days later, the boy appeared at her den, holding her mask. Ogerpon decided to be brave and approach him. It looked like he wanted to give it back.
When she came out of her den, though, her worst nightmares suddenly appeared-- like her darkest demons, back from the dead. Ogerpon was terrified. She thought maybe the humans had brought them here. She thought maybe she had been foolish to ever hope that a human would be nice to her again. She hid in her den and cried.
But she had been wrong. The humans were not mean after all. Instead, they made the nightmares go away. They gave her mask back. And then, they even gave her back the other three masks, which she thought had been lost forever. The group of humans did all these nice things and then they kept being nice to her. Ogerpon slowly realized things were finally different.
Even the boy that reminded her of the Wellspring mask was nice. During the festival, he talked to all the other humans in the village. Somehow, he convinced all the other humans to be nice to her, too! Ogerpon was so glad that she had been wrong about the boy, and that he never wanted to hurt her.
There was still something about him, though, that made Ogerpon hesitate. Usually, when she looked at him, she was reminded of her Wellspring Mask. Other times, when she looked at him, she was reminded of her Teal Mask.
Every once in a while, though, she was reminded of her Hearthflame mask. When the boy appeared after they had eaten, she had that uneasy feeling again.
"Wh-what? Ogerpon is here, why didn't you tell me?!"
The other humans looked to the boy.
"We did try to tell you, honey, but you said you wanted to be left alone in your room."
The boy stared and stammered.
"Yeah but-- but-- obviously something like that is an exception! How long has she been here?"
"Oh, a few hours now, I suppose. She was helping Carmine with the gardening and then with the cooking--"
"Seriously? I can't believe this . . ."
"Don't worry, honey, you can join us now. We kept your dinner warm, we weren't sure when you wanted to eat."
"I'm not hungry. I'll eat later, I want to go do something with Ogerpon now."
The boy came around the table and approached Ogerpon.
"Hi, Ogerpon! Sorry I wasn't here sooner, but we can make up for that now. What do you wanna do, huh? We could do anything you'd like, maybe go exploring somewhere, maybe go have some fun in town? I have so much to show you."
Ogerpon sighed a weary little noise.
"Um, I think she's a bit worn out, Kiki. She kinda did a lot today. . ."
The boy turned sharply.
"Well that's not fair! I've been waiting all day for my chance to do something with her. First Juliana and Nemona took her somewhere, then Arven did something with her, and then Penny, and now you guys all did-- what about me?"
"Dear, I don't think anyone meant to make you feel excluded."
"Relax, Kiki, it's not like she's going anywhere. You can always do something with her tomorrow."
"No, it has to be now!"
"Why?"
"B-because! If . . . if she keeps doing fun stuff with everyone else like this, she'll start liking them more. You saw how much more she liked Arven just because he talked to her first. I gotta have my turn or she'll forget about me."
"Oh, Kiki . . . you worry way too much."
The boy pulled the chair out that Ogerpon was sitting on and crouched down on her level.
"C'mon, Ogerpon. Let's go for a little walk, that should be nice, right? It doesn't have to be far. Just a short walk to the park. I'm sure you'll love it."
Ogerpon hopped down from her chair and made a quiet, tired chirp. He looked like he really wanted her to go with him, so she decided she would do it.
They left the human's den and walked through the village, then past the apple orchard. The sun was setting, the skies turning shades of pink and orange. Eventually they came to a little park, planted with lots of flowers. Ogerpon's feet were sore, but she still followed the boy.
"This is nice, isn't it? Just the two of us. It's a really pretty evening, too."
They came to the far edge of the park. There was a pile of dirt and rubble that was surrounded by a fence. Ogerpon sniffed at it.
"Oh, that's the old Loyal Three monument. I'll bet you're glad to see it all torn up. Don't worry, those guys won't bother you anymore. I'll make sure they don't come back and hurt you."
Ogerpon sat down on the ground, slumping a little and giving a sleepy sigh.
"You know what's really silly? The Caretaker has been talking about rennovating it. He wants to collect money and repair it and everything! I think that's a terrible idea. We should just level the spot. Those guys don't deserve a monument."
He looked to Ogerpon, so Ogerpon squeaked in reply.
"Actually, I have an even better idea. They should replace it with a statue of you! That would be way better. I bet you'd make a great statue, people would love to see it."
He fell quiet for a while, gazing out at the sunset. Yanma darted through the darkening sky, the trees turning to black silhouettes. Eventually he spoke again, his voice softened.
"It's nice to finally meet you, you know. I spent a long time trying to imagine what it would be like. And I'm . . . so glad it finally happened. And that I get to spend time with you like this now. You probably don't know this, but sometimes I would visit your den and look for you, and when I couldn't find you, I would wait and . . . talk outloud. I liked to imagine you could hear me."
The boy laughed self-consciously.
"Kinda silly, I guess. But I felt like I could be honest with you. Like you could . . . understand me in a way nobody else could."
He trailed off. Then he turned, asking quietly,
"Did you ever hear--"
He stopped, realizing Ogerpon had fallen asleep, slumped on the ground.
"O-oh . . . um. I guess you were more tired than I realized."
He frowned, running a hand through his hair and pushing back the guilty look on his face.
"Okay, that's fine, we'll go home now."
He picked Ogerpon up very gently and carried her back to his house. He couldn't open the door easily with his arms full, so he knocked instead. Carmine answered.
"She fell asleep."
"Ah . . ."
She stepped aside, letting them in. As Kieran headed up the stairs, she asked,
"Where are you going?"
"My room."
"Shouldn't we take her back to her den?"
Kieran shook his head.
"It's too late to go back there now. Besides, I'm sure she'd be way more comfortable in my room with me, instead of out there in the cold."
Carmine sighed. She sounded hesitant and concerned, but she didn't voice it.
"I guess so."
Kieran continued up the stairs, assuming that was the end of the discussion. When he got to his room, he carefully set Ogerpon on his bed, and then tucked her under the covers. The little pokemon sighed and mumbled sleepily, snuggling into the blankets. Kieran smiled, feeling at peace when he looked at her.
Finally, Ogerpon was safe and happy, right where she belonged.
When Kieran woke that morning and saw that Ogerpon was gone, he immediately felt his anxiety spike. He rushed down the stairs.
"Oh, good morning, dear--"
"Where's Ogerpon??" His grandmother gave him a patient smile.
"Don't worry, sweetheart, she's with Carmine. She wanted me to let you know when you woke that there's been a change of plans."
Kieran frowned, puzzled.
"Change of plans?"
"Yes. Mrs. Briar needs to return to Unova, so unfortunately you and Carmine will be ending your field trip a little early to return to the academy with her."
Kieran felt his stomach tighten at the news.
"So soon? I've hardly had the chance to spend time with Ogerpon . . ."
His grandmother patted him in comfort.
"I know, dear, but I'm sure you'll have plenty of chances to visit again soon. Carmine is going to take Ogerpon back to her den for now. She knew you might feel a little . . . uncomfortable if your new friends from Paldea spent any more time with Ogerpon during the rest of their field trip." Kieran glanced away, sighing. It was bad news, for sure, but at least Carmine was trying to look out for him. She could be really mean sometimes, but she really did care about him.
"W-wait! I still need to say goodbye to Ogerpon," Kieran said suddenly, running for the door.
He found Carmine a little ways into town, talking to the Naranja kids, apparently informing them of the situation. They seemed genuinely bummed out by the news, and Kieran felt a stab of guilt for being so focused on Ogerpon that he hadn't spent more time with his human friends. He justified it to himself by thinking there still would be plenty of chances to see them next time. He'd been wanting to meet Ogerpon for years, after all, so it wasn't really his fault that he was a little focused on that. They'd understand, right?
The Paldean students wanted to join them on the hike into the mountains to say goodbye to Ogerpon, so after breakfast, they all set out together. The others were very chatty but Kieran kept quiet on the hike, his mind lost in rumination.
They reached Ogerpon's den all too quickly. Carmine nudged the little pokemon forward, saying,
"Okay, Ogerpon, it's time for you to go home for now. But remember, you're always welcome in the village now, so you can visit it whenever you want."
Arven leaned down and handed Ogerpon a Liechi berry. She chirped happily and ate it. He patted her head, saying,
"See you around, bud. Take it easy."
Juliana draped a fluffy little blanket over Ogerpon, and Nemona crouched and gave Ogerpon a hug.
"You are the cutest, sweetest little thing and I love you to bits," she said, Ogerpon squirming happily and trilling.
"That blankie is for you to keep warm at night. Stay safe," Juliana said, patting her head. When they were done, Penny crouched down too.
"I don't have any presents for you, but I'm really glad I met you. And I'm really glad everything worked out for you. Remember, if anyone tries to bother you anymore, just show 'em who's boss, okay?"
She booped the little pokemon, and Ogerpon giggled. When she stood back up, it was now down to Kieran.
Kieran didn't know what to even say. He approached Ogerpon, his eyes reflecting great sorrow. She looked up at him, curious.
"Ogerpon, I-I . . ."
He felt a lump form in his throat and he fell quiet. Carmine sighed. Gently, she said,
"It's okay, Ogerpon. Kiki and I will see you again real soon, so we don't have to say goodbye."
She'd aimed it at the pokemon, but Kieran knew it was meant to comfort him.
"Y-yeah . . . that's right," he muttered, agreeing with her.
"I'll . . . I'll see you real soon, okay? Wait for me. I'll be back as soon as I can, I promise."
The group chimed in with some final goodbyes and they all started to leave. Kieran didn't want to go, but Carmine tugged on his arm, pulling him along.
As they began to leave, Ogerpon made a distressed squeak. She looked around, confused. The others turned back to her. When they did, she gave another cry.
"It's okay, Ogerpon, we're just going bye-bye for now, not forever," Carmine said. Ogerpon took a few steps forward. Juliana suggested,
"She looks like she doesn't want to stay here?"
Carmine frowned.
"Eh, let's try to leave again, maybe she'll get the idea, you know?"
"Okay . . ."
Carmine waved,
"Ogerpon stay! We go, Ogerpon stay!"
They tried again to leave, but Ogerpon cried out again and followed after the group. Carmine said,
"Okay, maybe you're right. I kinda thought she'd want to go home since it's the only thing she's known for so long, but . . ."
Ogerpon looked at each of the humans in turn, her little face scrunched up in thought. She looked like she was trying to decide something.
She looked at Arven, then glanced at Penny, then to Juliana and Nemona; she looked to Carmine and then at Kieran. Everyone was quiet, waiting.
Then Ogerpon ran to Juliana, grabbing hold of her leg and chirping hopefully. Juliana smiled down at her.
Carmine said,
"It looks like she wants to go with you, Juliana."
Juliana nodded as the pokemon waved her little arms and chirped cheerfully.
A few feet away, Kieran's eyes narrowed.
"Her? Why her?" he muttered, drawing everyone's gaze.
"Why . . . why? She already has a legendary pokemon she rides around on. She spent her summer conqouring the League challenge, defeating Titan pokemon and some weird trainer syndicate all at once. She gets to do everything."
"Kiki . . ."
His hands began to shake, and he balled them into fists. He shouted,
"If Ogerpon wants to go with someone, it should be me!"
There was a very awkward silence among the group. Carmine crossed her arms and heaved a sigh.
"Kiki, don't you think we should consider what Ogerpon wants?"
His resolve faltered a moment, but then he pointed, demanding,
"I'll battle you for Ogerpon, Juliana! Whoever wins gets to be her partner! Okay?"
Juliana looked very hesitant. She answered,
"Kieran, I don't really want to fight over it . . ."
Carmine glared at her brother, saying,
"Kiki, don't. You know this isn't fair to Ogerpon, and it isn't fair to Juliana either."
Kieran's shoulders slumped and he looked away, scowling. He muttered,
"Fine, but . . . I still want a battle."
Carmine glanced to Juliana warily. He continued,
"Please. Just give me a chance. I've been training, I'm stronger now."
Juliana nodded.
"If it's just a friendly battle, of course."
The two trainers got into position, everyone else watching in tense silence.
Kieran took his first pokeball out. Quietly, to himself, he muttered--
"Okay. Whoever wins gets to be Ogerpon's partner. I can do this. I can do this."
The battle was a short one. It wasn't as lopsided as his previous attempts; in the very least, Kieran managed to knock out three of Juliana's pokemon, so overall it was slightly less humilating. But he still lost, and Juliana didn't even break out in a sweat.
He was genuinely shocked. He'd trained so hard the past few days and gotten so much stronger, but it still wasn't enough. They were still leagues apart.
He'd collapsed to the ground, feeling all hope crushed to dust. It had been his last chance, and he'd lost. He'd lost Ogerpon for good.
He couldn't bear the thought of it. He couldn't stay here any longer, not with all their pitying gazes, especially not Ogerpon's.
He ran.
"Kieran, wait!" Carmine shouted after him. Juliana and the others looked very concerned. Carmine groaned and said,
"I'm gonna go after him, make sure he's okay."
"Should we go with you?"
She shook her head.
"No, it's fine. Ogerpon chose you, Juliana. Go ahead and enjoy your time with her. We'll be fine, I'll catch you later in town."
Juliana nodded and Carmine took the path down the mountain. When Juliana turned back, she saw that fortunately Ogerpon hadn't picked up on the awkward situation with Kieran; she just looked very excited about watching the pokemon battle. In fact, she was so excited she was hopping about, chattering away.
"I think she's a fan of your battling," Nemona commented, laughing.
Juliana smiled. Ogerpon pulled her cudgel from inside her little leaf-costume, crying and hopping up and down.
"Oh, does she want to battle?"
"I think so, it looks like it."
Ogerpon looked around at everyone and then rushed up to Nemona, hopping up and down and chirping. Nemona looked to Juliana, confused.
"Oh, uh-- she wants to fight with me?"
Nemona looked as though she were asking permission, but Juliana laughed,
"Looks like it! Go ahead, let's see her in action!"
Confused but excited, Nemona said,
"Okay!"
Not wasting any time, she got a safe distance away and tossed a pokeball. She yelled,
"Okay Pawmot, Ice Punch!"
Ogerpon chirped and pulled a mask out, putting it on. Her colors rapidly shifted into red and orange, and the gems on her mask glinted and shined bright.
And then brighter . . . and brighter . . .
Suddenly, crystals erupted from her mask, growing in a flash of light, transforming before their eyes: a massive, looming face made of crystals, floating in the air before Ogerpon. Juliana had seen pokemon terastalize plenty of times, but this . . . this was the biggest spectacle of them all. Everyone stared in awe at the intimidating sight, speechless.
Then Ogerpon reeled back with her cudgel and charged at Pawmot, striking him with an incredibly strong blow, sparkling flames roaring the air in the wake of the attack.
Pawmot fainted immediately, returning to his pokeball. Nemona's eyes were wide and she just stared in shock for a few moments.
Then she balled her hands into fists and bounced,
"That was so cool, oh my god, did you guys see that?! She can terastalize her masks and, and-- good Arceus she's strong, that was incredible!!"
"No wonder she wanted those masks back," Arven commented. Penny nodded,
"Yeah. Kinda glad I'm not fighting her, she's beastly!"
Nemona wasn't discouraged, though. She just grinned and tossed out another ball.
"All right, Ogerpon, let's do this for real! Lycanroc, Stone Edge!"
The canine managed to deal Ogerpon a hit first, which did heavy damage. Soon after, thick vines immerged from behind Ogerpon's enormous mask, winding back and crashing violently into Lycanroc, fainting it on impact. She sent out Goodra next.
"Go for Hydro Pump, Goodra!"
Nemona played very aggressively, several of her pokemon fainting in the process, but she quickly tired Ogerpon out, and the enormous, looming mask shattered-- the terastalization broken.
"Yeah! Good work, Ogerpon, that was awesome!"
Ogerpon took some time to catch her breath, but once she did, she hopped up again and donned a new mask. Her colors shifted to shades of blue.
"Wait, she wants to keep going? Dang, that's some stamina," Arven said, amazed. Ogerpon chirped excitedly and rushed over to Arven, waving her cudgel. He stammered,
"U-uh, me?"
Nemona laughed.
"Looks like she's giving us turns! Go ahead, Arven, you can do it!"
Arven looked a little unsure, but he nodded anyway.
"Okay, if that's what you want, little buddy."
He sent out Greedent while Ogerpon's mask terastalized, the enormous face once again dwarfing the little pokemon that hid behind it. Trying to disguise his nervousness, Arven crossed his arms and said,
"Okay, well, this should be fine! You know why? 'Cause my pokemon have items now! Nemona gave me suggestions and my whole crew has 'em. So we've got this clinched for sure."
Greedent didn't look entirely convinced, but still listened when Arven commanded,
"Bullet Seed!"
Unfortunately for Arven, the battle did not go well for him. His Greedent's Sitrus Berry certainly helped it tank a hit and heal up almost back to full. However, Greedent's Bullet Seed did a dismal amount of damage. His Cloyster with Focus Sash was able to Shell Smash, but Ogerpon's first hit didn't bring it down to the sash (despite it being a Superpower), so the sash really didn't even come into play. What made it worse was Cloyster still didn't outspeed the second turn, so it went down without doing anything.
Scovillian had a Big Root and Arven ordered it to Leech Seed, but a single swing from Ogerpon's cudgel knocked it out before it could even move. Still, Arven had confidance when he sent his Garganacl out. He knew it would be outsped but it was tanky enough to take a hit even from Ogerpon's supereffective cudgel. Garganacl did manage to take the hit, and its Weakness Policy activated, to Arven's great excitement.
Then it missed its Stone Edge. When it fell to another swing of Ogerpon's weapon, Arven started to lose hope. He sent out his Toedscruel, intent on using Spore, but it turned out he'd equipped his Toedscruel with an Assault Vest without realizing that it prevented the use of Spore. He used Leaf Storm instead, which thankfully did a good chunk of damage-- finally. It was just too bad Assault Vest helped special defense, not physical defense, because Toedscruel fainted the next turn. So it was down to Mabosstiff.
Thankfully, Mabosstiff was wearing Dark Glasses, and his Crunch did clinch the match. So in the end, Arven finally got his victory. Ogerpon seemed very proud of both him and Mabosstiff.
She was still eager to fight, however; after she caught her breath, she jumped up again, trilling and putting on her Cornerstone Mask. She bounced up to Penny, waving her arms. Penny laughed and said,
"My turn, huh? Okay, Ogerpon. I'll give it my best shot."
Ogerpon excitedly took her place again, her mask terastalizing into massive proportions. Arven called,
"Good luck, Penny! She'll give you a run for your money but you can do it."
Penny paused to consider her pokeballs for a moment.
"Hmmm."
She then sent out her choice.
"Okay, Leafeon. Leaf Blade!"
The wispy little Eeveelution darted forwards; Ogerpon was as spry as ever and struck her foe immediately with her cudgel. However, Leafeon easily took the hit and struck back with a powerful swipe of her tail. Penny called for Leafeon to go again.
All it took was a second Leaf Blade and Ogerpon's mask shattered; she fell to the ground once more.
"What?! That's it? I was down to the wire but Penny gets it in two moves?!"
Penny cast Arven a look and shrugged.
"Get good, scrub."
"You little--"
"Arven, easy. She had the advantage of watching us both battle first, you know."
"I guess . . ."
Ogerpon looked pretty worn out by now. Penny leaned down and asked,
"You okay, Ogerpon?"
The little pokemon gave a tired chirp. Juliana came forward a little.
"You can rest if you want, Ogerpon," she said gently, smiling down at her. The pokemon looked up at her.
Then she jumped up again, gathering her strength one last time. She swapped masks, then looked to Juliana, tugging on her pantleg and chirping hopefully.
Juliana chuckled.
"Okay, okay. One more battle. Haha, you're like Nemona."
"Definitely a pokemon after my own heart!"
They got into position. Ogerpon's Teal Mask grew larger than life, its huge grin sparkling in the morning sun.
Juliana sent her Armarouge out, settling her hands in her hips.
"Let's finish this. Armarouge, use Will-o-Wisp!"
When the dust settled on the last battle and the terastalized mask broke for the last time, Ogerpon dropped to the ground truly exhausted. And yet she looked incredibly happy.
Juliana knew what came next, but she felt a little hesitant, wondering if it truly was her place to do this. She tentaively approached Ogerpon, looking down at her.
Ogerpon tilted her little head up and chirped softly, an expectant look in her bright yellow eyes and a smile on her face.
Juliana smiled back. She pulled a ball from her bag.
"Okay . . . here goes."
She threw the ball gently, and it opened and pulled Ogerpon inside. It was bright green with yellow and red petals, a very special ball that Juliana felt suited her best.
The ball clicked shut after a single shake.
Nemona cheered after that and rushed up to hug Juliana, the others smiling. Juliana picked the Friend Ball up and held onto it like something cherished.
Nemona said,
"I'm so glad you're her trainer. She's such a little sweetheart. And that was so cool. In a way it felt like she was testing all of us . . . and we're her little family now."
Arven laughed.
"That's so cheesy."
Penny said,
"Kinda true, though."
The others looked at Arven and he relented,
"Ehhh, I guess you're right. It's a shame Carmine and Kieran weren't here for it, though. I think Ogerpon would have liked battling them, too."
Juliana nodded.
"I agree. They still might have the chance to, though. Let's head back into town."
When the gang returned to Mossui, they learned that Carmine was busy packing her bags, getting ready for her return flight to Unova. Apparently Mrs. Briar had booked a flight for later that afternoon and she didn't have much time to waste. Carmine met them in the front yard and they told her all about Ogerpon's battles. She seemed happy to hear how much fun Ogerpon had. Then Juliana asked how Kieran was.
"He's fine. Just moping in his room. He'll be all right, he's just like this sometimes. Give it a few days and he'll be over it."
Juliana sighed.
"Okay . . . I just don't want there to be any hard feelings, you know? Maybe you could tell him . . . tell him he and Ogerpon can visit as much as they want when we meet up again."
Carmine nodded.
"I'll be sure to tell him. Thank you, Juliana."
"Of course."
Carmine looked at the rest of them and sighed.
"Well, we gotta leave in a half an hour, so I guess I better make sure Kiki's got his stuff packed too."
Juliana blinked,
"Half an hour? Jeez."
She responded immediately,
"I know! I'm kinda pissed at Mrs. Briar, to be honest. I mean, it's apparently some emergency, but still. I didn't want stuff to end like this."
She looked genuinely downcast.
"Well, hey, this isn't goodbye for good! We'll see each other again soon, you can count on it!" Nemona said, her certainty hard to argue with.
"Yeah, you can't get away from us that easiy," Juliana agreed. Carmine snorted.
"Plus, we all have each other's numbers, right? We can stay in touch 'til then," Arven pointed out.
"I guess that's true."
"Actually, I have an idea. I'm gonna add us all into the same group chat, one sec," Penny said. She took a few minutes to add everyone, including Kieran. When she was done, Carmine thanked her, then checked the time again, cursing.
"Okay, I should hurry up. Ugh, I hate rushing like this. Before I go, I just wanted to say some stuff. Um . . . to everyone."
She looked between them, looking a little uncertain, but she continued anyway.
"When you all first got here, I was, uh . . . not very nice. I felt like everyone was trying to turn Mossui into some kind of tourist trap, and you all were just a bunch of stuckup city kids. But when I actually took the time to talk to you all, I realized how nice you were."
She paused awkwardly, then turned.
"Juliana, I was probably meanest to you. So thanks for giving me a chance even after all that. I know you're gonna be an amazing partner for Ogerpon."
Juliana gave her a warm smile and a nod. Carmine moved to Nemona and said quietly,
"And, uh, I've been thinking about that stuff you said to me before. About finding a rival and stuff? And . . . I realized maybe it's not a stupid idea after all. What you and Juliana have going on seems pretty cool. So. Maybe I'll . . . try something like that sometime. Maybe."
Nemona pulled her into a hug, saying,
"I'm sure you'll make for an amazing rival!"
Carmine was a little thrown off by the hug but Nemona released her before it got too awkward. She cleared her throat.
"T-thanks." She turned.
"Arven, I thought you were a huge loser."
Arven's face fell.
"I-I mean, I used to! I don't now."
"Oh."
"Yeah, uh . . . it's actually kinda neat how passionate you are about stuff. You're a little weird but . . . I . . . I like that."
She glanced away shyly and Arven's brows quirked up.
". . . thanks?"
"Oh, um. Shoot. Where'd I put that--"
She searched about until pulling a scrap of paper from one of her pockets.
"Here. This is grandpa's mochi recipe. Sorry it's just on paper, he's a little low-tech. I thought you might like it though."
Arven took the offered scrap of paper, glancing it over in surprise.
"That's . . . actually really thoughtful. Thank you, Carmine."
"Yeah. Treat it with respect though. It's a family recipe. Don't upload it to the internet or anything like that."
He nodded, answering solemnly,
"I promise." Carmine came to Penny.
"Penny, I'm sorry I ignored you for so long. I didn't even remember your name for most of this trip."
Wearily, Penny answered,
"Yeah . . . I get that a lot."
Carmine frowned at this news. She said,
"Well, their loss. When I actually spent time with you I realized how wrong I was. Also, I mean, that play you wrote in under an hour basically saved the day? That's pretty nuts."
Penny shrugged,
"Your grandpa and Kieran did most of the work, but thanks."
Carmine noticed Penny's deflection but didn't fight her on it. Instead, she added,
"Kieran's been talking a lot about you, too. I think you helped him a lot when he needed it. So, thanks. I mean it."
Penny nodded, smiling. Carmine checked the time again on her phone and sighed,
"Okay, okay, enough of this mushy crap, I really do gotta go now."
"Okay. 'Bye, Carmine!"
"See you later."
"If we don't see Kieran before you leave, tell him we said bye."
"Yep, okay."
"Keep in touch."
"See you soon!!"
In just a short time later, Carmine and Kieran were on their plane, waiting for people to finish boarding so they could take off. Kieran had been a total grump the entire time and had hardly said more than two words to Carmine-- currently he had his headphones in and was staring down at his phone. Carmine knew she just had to give him some time. He'd come around eventually.
She sighed, setting her head against the seat. Thoughts swirled around in her head in a big mess. The past several days had been a lot. It was so weird to be heading back to school now, as if none of it had even happened.
She felt a sudden sense of insecurity. Everyone had been super nice to her, yeah, and they all said they'd stay friends but . . . she wondered if that would really hold true. She knew how easy it was to get caught up in work and just in life, in general. Once a little time had passed and the memories of events faded, would people . . . still bother?
Carmine's thoughts were interrupted by a text from her phone. She checked it; it was from Penny.
Just sending this pic to the group bc it turned out good
Carmine scrolled down to see. The picture was from the last night of the Festival of Masks. It had been really late at night, after most of the booths and activities had already shut down; they were out in the fields near the Mossfell Confluence, watching the fireworks show. Everyone was spread out on the grass: Juliana's head rested against Nemona as they gazed skyward, Arven's armed tucked behind his head as he said something to Carmine, Kieran laying near Ogerpon and smiling, Penny angling her phone for the picture, leaning against a snoozing Koraidon. The faint reflection of the fireworks washed over them in red, orange and purple.
Carmine smiled softly.
Maybe things would turn out all right.

ITS POKEBOB DAY!!!! GIMME SOME POKEBOB HEADCANONS!! >:3
SDNCJDBBDSISL LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO
So of course Doc Roe runs his own pokemon center
He and his poison-type team use their poison/venom to make antidotes and potions and stuff to help the pokemon that come in
He’s known as the best PokeDoctor in the region because not only is his care/treatment effective but he’s also so GENTLE and SWEET
Like I have this image in my head of a wounded Pichu or another Baby Pokemon coming in and being super scared
But then he uses his adorable cajun accent and just
“Hey darling you’re okay. See? Good as new! You did such a good job!” pats the baby on the head
Sometimes when people come to him after being at the gym in town it can be a lot but when he see’s all the pokemon leaving with their trainer happy and healthy he can’t help but feel warm and fuzzy knowing he helped make them feel better
At the end of the day he’ll go out for drinks with the gym leader and gym trainers before heading home with his Seviper
SPEAKING OF GYM LEADERS
IT’S BUCK COMPTON BABEY
My boy has a rock-type gym and loves every minute of it
The gym trainers - Malarkey, Muck, and Penkala - all have a blast battling with the challengers before they get to Buck
The gym challenge involves strategy and thinking ahead, so the challengers need to be really mindful with the order in which they challenge the trainers
I picture Buck being like so friggin proud of a challenger when they beat him
Like he’s SO happy to give them his gym badge it’s so sweet
Then they meet up with Roe and go have a game of darts
Speaking of a game of Darts… what would we do…
WITHOUT GEORGE LUZ
I have a very vivid image of the sweet baby being an electrician and using his team to help him make repairs and do his job
And he’s fucking amazing at it and just a shining light all around
Like he’ll be up on the electricity pole with his Pawmot on his back and someone will yell hi up to him and he’d be excited to see a friend and almost fall but it’s ok cuz he has a safety line
Will 100% use his voice acting skill to prank people when he’s on the job
W H A T IS THE HOLDUP MR SOBEL
He’s working on the circuits and shit in the crawl space (idk i don’t know electricity) at wherever Sobel works in the PokeBoB AU when suddenly Sobel just hears
And the man has the PTSD Chihuahua face and Luz has to use every muscle in his body not to laugh
Of course he’ll meet up with the Lads at the end of the day to remind Buck that he is in fact right handed
Thank you for the ask Pretz!! These were so much fun to make 😝💖

Otakon 2023 Wrap-Up Post!
Otakon 2023 was this past weekend, and I gotta say I had a great time! (if that wasn’t obvious. From the deluge of posts about the digimon movie redubs). That was the main reason I went this year, and the screening took up a significant portion of my time there (WORTH. EVERY. MILLISECOND.), but during my one day I was able to blitz through the main halls as well. And I met @ahiddenpath ! That was AWESOME!!! She’s incredibly sweet, and we got to walk through Artist Alley together and talk (irl!!!) about Digimon, fandom, and life ☺️
Tumblr media
My con haul!! I was like, “eh, it’s not that much” but some might beg to differ, including me, now that I look at it all together 😅 Most of it came from the Dealer’s Hall. There is one vendor who is a huge Digimon fan herself and sells a TON of amazing digi-merch, and that’s where most of my money went, ahahaha. She not only had some amazing hard-to-get figures and blind boxes (the Adv. kigurumi figures and Piedmon keychain set), but some Frontier 20th Anniversary merch as well! HOW CAN I SAY NO TO THAT??? That is a GIANT TAKUYA ACRYLIC STAND (which I would prefer to be a bit smaller), but aaah!!!! 🤩 I randomly got Sora from a blind box (💖), as well as Koji-in-pajamas (!!), and spent a little extra to get Takeru unwrapped. Unwrapped Jyou was the same price as a random blind box, because she said no one wants him and she always has extras! Can you believe it?? JYOU! 😭 Hidden and I agree that she’s not reaching enough of this audience on Tumblr, because HOW DO YOU NOT LOVE JYOU? Look at his face! He HAD to come home with me 😤
Ahem. Anyway, I found those oldschool Fox Kids-looking vinyl clings at a separate stall that sold a lot of vintage 90s stuff. Dub merch!! I do have a small collection of that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The pencil-board… folder… thing… is two-sided and I believe it was originally an extra with a specific issue of Animedia that covered both tri and Appmon! I had to. Because APPMON (also I do love that tri art) 🥺
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some close-ups of the small stuff! The resin statue of the mountains came from Artist Alley (actually, a friend of Hidden!) because it reminds me of home. I also really liked the moon-shaped pendant. And a citrus pin! MY BRAND!! I have a shirt with Togemon on it (the cactus), but I have a hard time finding citrus merch, so YES, I can now rep my full screen name in an outfit 👍👍👍 One lone Goomy pin is my sole Pokemon purchase this year. “Hen with a Tie” cracked me up (if you’re an anime dinosaur like me, you know), and the Mimi button was actually a gift from Hidden! 😭
Tumblr media
Finally, Takeru and Jyou side-by-side, where they belong ☺️ The contrast of their poses/expressions cracks me up!
Takeru: I think I’ll cause problems on purpose.
Jyou: NOOOOO PLS MY BLOOD PRESSURE!!!!
So there you have it: the results of an intense and incredibly exciting digi-day! I’m still so shocked that my local con got this amazing premiere, and I got to watch the whole thing (er… when I wasn’t live-texting information to certain people who couldn’t be there in person, lol!). I’m SO incredibly grateful to the Discord group for notifying me about it, because otherwise I probably wouldn’t have even gone to the con at all this year!
Really hoping I can see my OG con buddy either at Otakon 2024 or her local con, so she can take a well-earned break from being a new mom and join in on the fun! 🤞🤞🤞

Can’t stop thinking bout the point where peach finally, after years, returns to her timeline.
Details not yet set in stone, but that sprint back to the house, back to the labs, heart pounding, it’s all she can hear, slams into the building like a wrecking ball, staggers for a moment, sees the house mons, bundles them all up, she’s missed them all so much. Feint footsteps can be heard, and she gets to finally lay eyes on the annoying, irritating, infuriating, utterly gorgeous little ranger she loves to hate and hates to love. Everything gets forgotten, she’s gotta kiss that stupid dumb face of hers. It’s been literal years for her, how many nights had she sat up I wishing she could hear the feint sound of trumpet somewhere on the island while plum practiced, or to hear the smoke alarm go off again because she burnt eggs. Her snappy sarcastic tone when peach got forms wrong, or the mess her hair was in the morning. She missed every stupid thing.
Finally after managing to pull herself away from one companion, she refuses to let her go, carries her all the way to the labs, despite her laughing/pleading to be put down, she was in pyjamas this was embarrassing, but not enough to make her truly not want the attention. And there suddenly he is, she gets to the labs, and sees grey running a scan on the Nidoqueen from the very start of the whole mess. He smiles as he sees the pair, but his eyes are pulled to new scars, weird clothes, hair different, not how he left her no more than a few minutes ago. Peach didn’t think it’d hit her so hard, but she finally got to him, near enough tackled the guy, plum in her arms, her in his. She complete crumbles, missed them both so much, buries herself in the pile. Grey and plum just look at each other like this is crazy, they don’t get it, silently using gestures and looks to express what to do about this.
Peach refuses to leave them alone after this, almost alway in eyeshot for like, a good couple days, is so pleased to see Pari, excited when Theo starts to prod, compliments the outfit she’s wearing, stops in at all the facilities, pleased to see everyone she passes by, spends time with every Pokemon who wants the attention, which of course is all them.
Booker, sweet grumpy Booker, who she missed so much, and Minerva, who totally revels in the time peach has for her outfits, for a fashion show, she bundles up as many mons and loved ones as possible and humours every little thing.
Peach can’t sleep at all once she gets back, part of her thinks if she shuts her eyes, it’d be one of those dreams she kept having, back in hisui, where it felt like she was home some nights. But it’s real, and she can finally curl up in her own bed, with the people she holds most dear to her, and rest, actually relax for the first time in two solid years. Just cannot get enough of her duo, spends hours doting on them, taking in every little detail like it’s all new again, memorising things she feared she’d forgotten while gone.

Elevated Railways - Ch 4
Ingo has been in Hisui for two years when two children fall from the sky - with wings like his. Did they come from the same place he did?
Word Count: ~3100
Ingo busied himself as night fell. He was finally going to give Gliscor that race he had promised three days ago. It was upset he had not held up his end of the deal yet. Once he was sure that the moon was overhead, he exited his tent, stretching his arms. Excitement filled his veins. He did not get to fly as often as he'd like to. He adjusted his cap as he breathed the crisp air into his lungs. He went to take off his coat-
Footsteps approached. Ingo immediately shrugged it back on, whirling around.
"Hello, Mr. Ingo!" He breathed a sigh of relief. It was the twins.
"Hello, young Akari and Rei. How might I help you this evening?" He relaxed into his coat. They had been showing up every night since Lord Electrode’s quelling to ask for advice on how to create preening oil and other wing care advice.
"We wanted to see if you could teach us how to fly." Rei elbowed Akari for being so forward, but his eyes shone like hers did. Ingo blinked.
"I suppose I could try… though I should warn you, I nearly broke several bones learning. I do not wish for you two to become injured."
"We'll be okay, Mr. Ingo!" Akari said excitedly.
Ingo hummed, dropping his coat and tying it securely around his neck. "First I will give Gliscor the race I promised. Then I will teach you how to hold your wings. Before we begin, I wish to check them over and ensure that your feathers are prepared for flight and that you have been preening them properly. Does that sound reasonable?"
Both kids nodded eagerly. Gliscor streaked down from the sky, screeching in delight when it saw Ingo with his coat tied like a cape. It yanked at his cap. Ingo swatted it away. "Yes, passenger, I understand. Give me a moment and we will begin." Ingo flapped his wings, preparing them for the upcoming workout. He removed his cap and handed it off to Rei, asking if he could hold it. "We will return in a few moments. Please keep an eye on this for me." As he did, he released Machoke and Tangela. They liked to watch, too. The four of them settled down, sitting in anticipation.
"Machoke, the countdown please?" Ingo stood a few paces from the edge, getting into a starting position, willing his wings to expand and grow with a snap.
"Ma… Ma… Ma… choke!" With the cry of starting, Gliscor and Ingo propelled themselves forward, Gliscor immediately taking to the air as Ingo ran and jumped off the rock, falling a short distance before he beat his large silver wings, rising into the sky. Once he hit the sweet spot in the draft, he changed their shape, making them sleeker, more available for gliding. He covered his ears with his facial wings.
Gliscor was still ahead of him. Ingo narrowed his eyes, giving a single flap as he shot forward like a freight train. He slightly angled himself downward. He was catching up. They were almost at the halfway point, the one they often used for these small races in the night. Gliscor tapped it with one claw, the tree they used as a marker, whirling and shooting off. Ingo was right behind it, gripping the trunk and making his wings smaller, sharper, and able to withstand fast turns. He  tucked in one wing as he whipped around the tree, expanding his wings into a gliding apparatus once again as he shot off towards Gliscor. He flapped again. He was on Gliscor's tail now, he was by its head-
The cliff face was in sight. He could see the outlines of the Pokemon, Machoke and Tangela forming a finish line with one of Tangela's vines. Ingo tucked his wings in, going in for a dive. Gliscor did the same thing. They were neck and neck, approaching rapidly, the wind was stinging Ingos eyes and making him blink as he shot past the Pokemon and he snapped his wings out to glide along the ground, allowing his speed to falter only after he crossed the line. He flapped his wings to slow himself, gracefully touching his feet down as he willed his wings to shrink down to a more manageable size. He tucked them neatly against his back, strolling back to the Pokemon.
"Machoke? The final winner?" he asked. The fighting Pokemon pointed at Gliscor and huffed. Ingo began to clap. "Bravo, Gliscor! Excellent! Wonderful flying if I do say so myself." Gliscor trilled happily, flying to Ingo and wrapping him in a hug. Ingo patted its head, laughing. "Please come back to challenge me again!" His normal line, the one he always said. Gliscor screeched its pleasure out to the world.
“Oh my Sinnoh-”
“THAT WAS SO COOL!” Akari squealed. She had hopped up and bounded forward, watching the Pokemon and its trainer. “You said you could fly but I never imagined that! And were you changing your wing shape in midair? You can just do that? You have to teach us how to do that, I want to be able to do stuff like that-”
“Slow down, passenger,” Ingo chuckled. “It will take time. I have had two years of practice. I want to ensure you know how to properly use your wings, first. And that they are prepared for departure.” Ingo motioned the children forward. “Is it alright if I feel some of the feathers?” he asked Akari first. She nodded, turning around and spreading her wings without a hint of fear. Ingo gently carded his hands through her wings, feeling around and looking for any signs of brittleness and breakage. “Rei, you are doing a wonderful job of keeping up with her wings. Now, Rei, it is your turn. Is it alright if I touch them?” Ingo asked the boy as well, who also nodded. Ingo felt around some of the worse patches he remembered from a few days prior.
“Akari is doing beautifully with your wings, too. I have some concerns that they will not be able to carry you quite yet, but let us get the basics down first.” Ingo stepped back, allowing the moonlight to glint off his own feathers. “First, we will practice how to hold your wings properly and how to change them. Have you been able to do this?”
“We haven’t tried much,” Akari said. “We’ve been busy.”
“That is quite alright. Consider this your first lesson. I would like you to focus your mind on the wings, make sure you can feel the wind through the feathers, and focus on them. Once you do that, imagine them changing size. Imagine them growing until they are about double what they are now. Mentally picture it.” Ingo did as he was saying, demonstrating as his own wings grew in size.
Rei closed his eyes and Ingo watched as the boy’s wings began expanding, flapping with the effort the boy was using up. Akari’s were a little more slow-going, but she managed to get them there. Rei opened his eyes and looked around, spying his wings. His eyes widened. “Akari, I did it!” He looked over and saw her wings, too. “So did you! We did it!” Akari looked over at him, grinning wildly as her wings flapped in delight.
Ingo clapped his hands loudly. “Bravo! Excellent, you two! This is wonderful. For the time being, I would prefer you both get more accustomed to playing with the size and shape of your wings before we do anything in the air.” The children wilted slightly at this. “I promise you we will get there, but I would prefer not to get you two hurt. I will be taking every safety precaution I possibly can.” Akari looked like she wanted to argue, but something in Ingo’s gaze made her decide against it.
Ingo practiced a bit more with them before tucking in for the night. He offered his tent as lodgings for the children for the night, but they declined. Rei mentioned they wanted to try to find Clefairy. Ingo made them promise him they would not try to fly without him around, to which both begrudgingly agreed. He just hoped they kept that promise.
—-------------
“But, Ingo, we started two weeks ago! We can change our wings like pros now! Can’t we at least practice getting into the air? I have a Chansey if we need to be healed!” To demonstrate, Akari tossed out a Chansey. It mewled at them.
Ingo pitched the bridge of his nose. He was not sure he was comfortable with the next part of flying practice.
“I have an alpha Staraptor I’ve been training up,” Rei said quietly. He tossed it out. It was easily double his height.
Ingo had an idea. “That might help, actually. I will have Machoke hold you up as I demonstrate how to catch lift with your wings. Once I feel you are good at that, you may fly above Staraptor, in case you happen to fall or lose the lift you have. Gliscor and I will be around as well. I want nothing but safe driving, understand?” Both of the children nodded obediently, grinning wildly.
“I call dibs on going first,” Rei called. Akari huffed in annoyance, but let her brother go. The rules of dibs were not to be trifled with. Rei trotted up to Machoke, who patted the boy’s head. Then it lifted him above its head with ease, holding him horizontally by the torso. Ingo came around to the boy’s head to begin to instruct him.
“Expand your wings first. Good, now you want to flap them as hard as you can a couple times. You do not want to expend all your energy on getting into the air and then be too tired to actually fly. It takes some time for you to build up the muscles that are required for flight, and that is alright. Flight is difficult.” Ingo gave pointers and more instructions at Rei as he flapped his wings, learning how to use them for the first time. Once, he managed to lift off Machoke’s hands and get a few inches into the air. Ingo applauded him and gave him many praises for that.
By the time he was let down, Rei was panting. “You weren’t kidding. This is hard. I feel tired now.”
Ingo chuckled and ruffled his hair as he motioned for Akari to come forward. She bounded into Machoke’s arms, being lifted and being subjected to the same speeches by Ingo. With a couple well-times flaps, she lifted off enough that she was able to get an inch higher than Rei. Once she was finished, she would not stop teasing her brother about this. Ingo had to goad them into his tent to sleep. Rei insisted they all sleep on the floor together since Ingo’s bed could not accommodate all of them. The twins laid out their bedrolls and Ingo laid out some blankets. The twins cuddled up to Ingo and drifted off first that night. Ingo laid on his stomach, as he often did now with the wings, expanding them enough to cover the children with them lightly as he, too, slipped into unconsciousness.
—----------
Since Staraptor had now learned Aerial Ace, Ingo felt more comfortable using her in flying lessons. The twins still needed to work on their flight muscles, there was no doubt there, but Rei had posed an idea to Ingo (though he still did not love it). Rei would ride on the back of Staraptor and lift his wings until he was able to take off. Then she flew underneath him, Ingo above him, as he found the currents and learned how to navigate updrafts.
It was working surprisingly well, Ingo begrudgingly admitted. It had only been four days and already they were learning how to fly themselves. Ingo figured next they would work on landings. To ease his mind, Ingo had gone out and captured an Alakazam who, if bad came to worse, could catch them with Psychic at a moment’s notice. Tangela had evolved as well, leading to a Tangrowth with increased vine range.
Ingo was still on edge as he had two fletchlings soaring around, unable to take off or land on their own quite yet. Ingo figured maybe this was a good time to practice landing. He demonstrated for them, as they were in the air, learning to control themselves in the currents and updrafts, how to land safely. Then, he had Alakazam and Tangrowth at the ready as he instructed each one to do exactly as he had. Rei got it down within a couple tries. Akari needed four tries to understand how to do it without accidentally scraping a knee, but Ingo was glad it was the only injury sustained.
“Ingo!” Akari ran up to him, her large wings trailing behind her. “Could you race Gliscor again? We wanna see you fly!” Rei bobbed his head, his eyes shining.
Ingo chuckled. “I suppose I have gotten enough warming up. Staraptor, would you care to join? I have a feeling you might win with your speed, but it would be fun with company.” Staraptor squawked and nodded at him. Gliscor screeched in excitement.
The three challengers approached the starting line at the edge of the cliff. Ingo spread his wings in preparation to fly, Staraptor and Gliscor mirroring him. Akari and Rei began to count down together.
“Five… four… three… two… one…-”
“What are you two doing?”
Ingo whirled at the sound of another voice. It was not Irida. Who was out here at this time of night? He shrunk his wings, hoping they had not seen him.
It was Melli, yawning as he stood in the path. “Can’t you two see some of us are trying to get their beauty sleep?” He gestured to himself. “And you, Warden, I know you’re teaching them to fly or something but do you need to yell so loudly in the middle of the night? It’s bad enough I hear your Pokemon screaming because you’re flying around but-”
“You know he can fly?” Akari blurted out. Rei elbowed her in the side.
Melli rolled his eyes. “Duh. It’s a wonder that other people don’t know, with how much he wanders at night. No, I haven’t told anyone, it’s not the Great Melli’s business to meddle in the affairs of others. Just keep it down. You are disturbing my Skuntank.” Ingo stood, watching like a Deerling in the headlights (what was a Deerling? What are headlights?), as Melli turned to leave.
“How long?” His voice sounded strained.
Melli turned back around, his brow knitted. “What?”
“How long have you known?” Ingo must have looked particularly distressed, because Melli looked taken aback and almost… guilty.
“Within a month of you becoming Warden. I heard you one night and I watched you learning how to take off. I never questioned it because it wasn’t my business. You seemed harmless, so I never felt the need to tell anyone.” He stopped talking, looking around awkwardly. Then he turned around and left without another word.
Ingo stared around at the children, who just stared at him. They went to bed early that night.
—----------
“Uncle Ingo, what do you think of this?” Akari flipped her notebook to show Ingo the picture that she’d drawn for her latest dex entry. It was for Kirlia. The Pokemon itself was doing twirls by her side, looking over her shoulder at the drawing.
“I think it is lovely, Akari! Bravo!” Ingo clapped his hands for her, making her giggle. She went back to writing about Kirlia, her tongue poking out of her mouth. It trilled at her as it danced.
Ingo leaned his head back against the trunk of the tree, enjoying the shade in the afternoon. Wind rustled through the leaves softly as Pokemon went about their days not too far from them. Rei was curled up, asleep between Ingo and Akari, using his Typhlosion as a pillow. It did not seem to mind. In fact, it was asleep, too. Ingo slung an arm over the fire/ghost, using it like a big furry armrest. Akari was laying against it as well as she drew.
“Make sure to check your posture, Akari. Back pain is a big problem.”
She groaned dramatically before straightening up. Ingo felt a soft grin pull at his face. It was so peaceful here. He tugged his hat down just enough to shade his eyes and closed them, feeling the breeze on his face wings…
—-----------
Ingo held Rei’s hand as he flew across the sky. The boy was getting better! He was able to land properly now and he could even hold himself up in the air for some time, he just needed to work on taking off! Same with Akari! Ingo felt a rush of pride as Rei looked at him and grinned. His kids were doing so well.
Ingo gestured to Machamp, who tossed up Akari. Ingo caught her hand and helped stabilize her and the three carried on as a unit, meandering slowly across the sky, Ingo sometimes giving them commands to practice playing with the shape of their wings. He was in the middle of showing them where to find better updrafts in the Highlands.
A massive crash and a flash of light. Ingo whirled, making sure to keep an arm on both of the children in case they were startled and fell. Thankfully, neither of them did. They just let him hold their arms as they watched as a massive thunderbolt descended somewhere over the Icelands and struck…
Ingo felt his blood run cold. He knew what this meant. “Another Noble has been frenzied. You two must return to Jubilife immediately. Prepare for your assignment tomorrow.” The twins looked at each other sadly and nodded. They had been spending a lot of time with Ingo most nights the last three weeks. Ingo had an idea. “If you would like, I can accompany you two to the edge of the Highlands by air. Then I will return back home. If you need anything at all, send Staraptor with a message. Or call for Lady Sneasler by flute, she can receive me.”
Ingo allowed the kids to get their things before taking off. He launched himself first, falling just below the cliffside. “Rei, you first. Get a running start and allow the wind to carry you!” He heard footsteps as Rei vaulted off the cliff edge, keeping his wings straight and flapping them as Ingo had instructed. He wobbled in the air until he hit his stride. Akari followed quickly after. Ingo showed them how to glide quickly as he led them away from the Highlands and towards Jubilife. He tried not to let his concern get in the way of their mission, but he knew how rough these Lords left them when they were finished.

‘When I was young, I was a serious pokemon trainer.
But now, in my old age, I have only these three left.’
Old hand gestures toward three different pokeballs, rested neatly on the laboratory countertop beside Professor Oak; generous smile angled toward the young child, Red looks on hopefully with a curious gasp, fiddling with his fingers as brown irises look on with wonder beneath his hat.
He’d meant to go play with the pidgeys on Route 1 that morning, birdseed in hand. Yet, the professor had stopped him just prior to his trek, old man providing a lecture about Red’s own safety before motioning him to the pokemon lab, providing the promise of his very own, very first pokemon.
He’d seen many children leave town before him--escaping the quaint tiny town of Pallet to forego their own adventures, starter pokemon in hand. So the thought of receiving his own made his imagination explode with endless possibilities.
Some were lucky enough to catch one in the wild, some raised their pokemon from an egg, and others, like Red, were entrusted with one of the many in Professor Oak’s collection. Oak’s library of pokemon had been sizeable; being that he was friends with Green--even if he’d become more of a nuisance these days--Red was favored enough to see the many ancient pictures of the scientist in his younger days, gathered by different species in almost every photograph including ones Red didn’t even know the name of.
So he looks back at the now-old man, adjusting his short-sleeve windbreaker cautiously as if to ask for permission. He offers a brief nod, before returning to quelling his own grandson’s impatient impudence.
The brunette tunes out any background noise, eyes glazing over as their focus hones in on the three spheres containing these fabled creatures.
It was his turn to have one.
After all of these years, it was finally his turn.
A miniature screen sat beneath each individual pokeball, displaying various information about each one.
Bulbasaur--the seed pokemon. At birth, a strange seed is planted on their backside.
‘It looks cute.’ Red thinks, quietly cooing to himself before looking between the screen and its respective capsule. Not what he’s looking for, though. He wanders to the one on the outermost right, choosing to save the middle for last.
Squirtle--the tiny turtle pokemon. When it retracts its long neck inside its shell, it squirts out water with an unstoppable, vigorous force.
‘This one looks cute too.’ Of course he thinks that! Squirtle has big, adorable eyes coupled with that sweet little rounded tail. It’s adorable…but then he thinks about accidentally getting soaked with water, and loses interest.
“Hurry up and pick already!” Green jeers while standing off to the side, obviously filled with just as much joy and excitement as Red had been. It makes the young boy jump, being knocked out of his thoughts.  “Wait your turn, Green!” The professor scolds, “Red, take as much time as you need.”
He looks toward Green with an embarrassed pout as if to offer a silent apology, before turning back to the sturdy countertop with interest. The other boy only squints, putting on his best I-Need-To-Be-Intimidating face a child could muster.
‘What about this one?’
Red shuffles toward the middle, staring down at the final ball. This was his last chance; well, he knew he’d have to pick one anyway, but the brunette was hoping to find exactly what he’d been looking for. He looks down at the teeny screen, big eyes tracing over the information carefully. He looks at the picture coupled with data about the pokemon, and eyelids widen like he’d just seen the night sky for the very first time.
Charmander--the lizard pokemon. From the time it’s born, a flame burns at the tip of its tail. Its life would end, should the flame go out.
It looks brilliant, the way its flame flutters at the tip of that scaly tail. It has tiny fangs, even in such a small form it wasn't to be trifled with. Red wants to swipe through its provided evolution line out of eagerness, he was just a kid after all--but falters, holding his ground and refusing to spoil himself. With a hungry swipe, the boy picks up the pokeball, looking at Professor Oak with a serious expression as if to say, ‘I want this one.’
Of course, that newfound fire in Red’s eyes earns a well-respecting smile from their mentor, making the boy grin in return. He’s confident in his decision now, knowing somebody supported him.
Suddenly, Green pushes past his friend, “Okay, I made up my mind then! I want this one if you’re taking that one!” the redhead scooping up squirtle’s pokeball. “I did my studying already. This one will be stronger than yours cos’ it’s a water-type!”
Perhaps Red should’ve studied himself, lips pressing into a thin line as the boy nearly retracts into his own shadow as Green metaphorically towers over him.
“And that means we’re rivals now.” Green snickers, leaning into Red’s personal space to try and rile him up. Red holds his pokeball close, shoulders tightening as to brace himself and eyes squeezing shut; and then he realizes--
He isn’t alone anymore.
Red huffs defiantly, stepping away from Green and tossing his pokeball up into the air. A bright, almost laser-like light shoots into the air as the capsule ball flutters open, revealing the silhouette of his newfound friend. Holding his arms out, his heart stammers uncontrollably as a toothy smile is made present between rounded, rosy cheeks. The lizard dives into his arms, letting out its famous ‘Charrr!’ as Red spins the creature around joyously.
Char?
Was that her name?
Okay! Char!
Nice to meet you, Char!

.•★|Veevee Report|★•.
Umbreon ♂
Name: Oscar (like Oscuro aka Dark in Spanish)
Personality: Protective, Guarded, Nocturnal
Other: Oscar is very protective of Penny. If he ever senses that Penny is in danger or distressed, he'll actively guard her and glare at whoever is causing her distress. He responds to her emotions rather acutely. And when he's not on guard duty, if it's daytime, he most often can be found napping in the shade somewhere.
Vaporeon ♂
Name: Spray (from the constant need for the Spray bottle as a baby {he loved it})
Personality: Mischievous, Playful, Quick to Run
Other: Spray loves to cause trouble. You know how cats like knocking things off tables? That's Spray. Even when he's not causing trouble, he'll flee if Penny looks at him with a certain expression for too long. He thinks it's Playing.
Jolteon ♂
Name: Fizz (Like Fizzle, which his energy never does)
Personality: Excitable, Full of Energy, Very Friendly
Other: Fizz will actively run up to people and pokemon to say hi, especially if they are/have electric types. He won't zap you on purpose, but if he gets Too excited, he becomes very staticy.
Flareon ♂
Name: Winnie (because he's a Weenie [affectionate])
Personality: Mildly Aggressive, Kinda Dumb, A Lap Veevee
Other: Winnie is a yappy boy. He will yell at things he sees as threats, which is most things. Even his own reflection. He's mainly just calm around Penny and the other Veevees. If he stops yelling and instead makes his way onto your lap, you know he likes you and considers you a friend. The best way to get him to stop yelling, Penny has found, is to hold him in her lap and cover his eyes until he settles down.
Leafeon ♀
Name: Bean (short for Vanilla Bean, a Sweet but difficult crop)
Personality: Aloof, Loner, Charming
Other: Bean likes to be on her own. She won't complain if someone sits by her when she's loafing, but given the choice, she'll be by herself. At least most of the time. Whenever she wants attention, she's very good at charming anyone around her to give her praise and pets with her Baby-Doll Eyes and her pitiful cries. She knows what she's doing.
Sylveon ♀
Name: Veenus (like Veevees)
Personality: Calm, Patient, Huggable
Other: Veenus was the first Eevee Penny ever had. She's been with her for a very long time, since even before she started her transition. She was always there as emotional support and would snuggle up to her whenever Penny needed. While Oscar is in tune with Penny's emotions, it's nowhere near the level of Veenus, simply from experience.
Eevee ♀
Name: Gracia (Like Gracias because thankful little girl)
Personality: Curious, Adventurous, Sweetie
Other: Gracia is the newest addition to the family. She loves exploring everything around her which can and has gotten her stuck in places she shouldn't be. And every time she's rescued, she's so very grateful, she will give licks and nuzzles and show her gratitude with affection.

There was an anon that requested Brandy trying and failing to catch an invasive species for the shenanigans. Tumblr ate that anon (idk how it was just suddenly gone??) but I think I got the gist of it.
Tagtree Thicket always looked best, in Brandy’s opinion, on overcast days. It was a forest that housed mostly dark, poison, and ghost pokemon. Direct sunlight just didn’t fit the moody vibe that its inhabitants preferred. Overcast days, however, gave the thick canopy a chance to really blanket the forest in a perfect, sullen darkness. It was easy to see how much the pokemon residents of the forest preferred this - they skulked around with much more pizazz on days where the sun left them alone. So she was thrilled to find that the day she was to guide a team of researchers through the forest the sky was blanketed in clouds. She always preferred to show off the forest’s best side when company was coming over.
Which was part of the reason Brandy was trying to be extra thorough in her patrol that day. Sure, two of her team members at the ranger base had already completed their rounds of the thicket, but if we’re all being honest here they just weren’t as good at it as Brandy was. It wasn’t their fault, neither of them had more than a year of experience under their belt. But Brandy would be damned if she let herself get embarrassed because a couple of newbies couldn’t remember fletchling did not belong in her forest.
Besides, she just had a better system when it came to patrol. Her and Michael would split up, with one walking in a spiral towards the centre of the forest and the other walking in a spiral outwards. This way they were able to pretty thoroughly check every nook and cranny. And, as it turned out about a half hour into Brandy’s spiral, they were correct to have not entirely trusted her team. An excited yipping from Michael informed her that there was something that needed her attention, using a tone she recognized as standing for ‘this is non urgent’.
When she located her partner pokemon he was still yipping, circling around the base of a tree and excitedly looking up at something in the branches. Brandy followed his gaze and had to resist the urge to squeal in delight.
Glaring down at her and looking like the very image of cranky arrogance, was an itty bitty baby vullaby. It was, in Brandy’s eyes, the cutest baby pokemon on the planet. She couldn’t stop herself from flapping her fists around in delight, just for a quick moment. This was, of course a pokemon that was very, incredibly, extremely not native to Tagtree Thicket. Or Paldea as a whole. But really, that just gave Brandy an excuse to buddy up to the little bird so she could escort it out of her forest.
“Hey there, sweet little baby dough ball.” Brandy crooned, slowly approaching the tree in an attempt to climb up to the baby bird without frightening it away. “Poor little thing. You’re not supposed to be in a forest at all. You must be so scared. Did your mean ol’ trainer let you wander off?”
Brandy started slowly climbing up the tree towards the vullaby, crooning the entire time in the hopes of keeping it calm. They climbed the tree with swift confidence, and even at their slow pace Brandy was able to reach the branch the vullaby was occupying rather quickly. As they put their foot down on the vullaby’s tree branch however, the small bird gave an indignant squawk and hopped a little further away.
“Hey, hey. Shhhh, it’s okay. I’m gonna get you out of this scary tree and we’re gonna be friends, okay?” Brandy’s typical method for using her capture styler on wild pokemon who were feeling a little antsy was to launch the disk and then just hold it at her feet or in her hand for a second to give the pokemon a chance to get used to the sight and sound. They found that an anxious pokemon that had a weird, whirring disk suddenly launched at them were a lot more likely to startle and either run or attack than one who was given a second to look at the capture disk.
This method did not work for vullaby. The moment the disk was launched from Brandy’s styler the bird gave what could only be described as a ‘battle squawk’ and proceeded to jump up and ground pound the tree branch they were both on, super mario style. The branch, of course, immediately broke and sent the both of them tumbling towards the ground.
“Ow, fuck, are you fucking kidding me?” Brandy hit the ground hard, managing to roll to disperse most of the impact. The vullaby hit the ground not far from Brandy, and was immediately toddling off and away from them and Michael with startling speed. “Oh goddam- Michael, track!”
Michael tore off in hot pursuit of the waddling baby bird, yipping and howling to communicate his location to Brandy as he ran. Brandy got up, brushed themselves off, and then took off after the commotion.
It didn’t take the two of them long to corner the baby bird again. It was fast, but it was still just a tiny baby bird. This time Brandy didn’t waste any time in whipping out their styler to start drawing loops around the vullaby. Surely it wouldn’t take too many circles to complete the capture, Brandy couldn’t imagine it would be more than five and then she could-
“SQUAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”
Rather than launching an attack that Brandy could easily dodge, the vullaby opted instead for screaming at the top of its apparently very powerful longs. It was so loud and so sudden that Brandy instinctively covered their ears, which interrupted the capture.
The vullaby immediately took the opportunity to run again. However, she had to run right by Brandy to escape. And Brandy’s reflexes were nothing to sneeze at.
“Gotcha, ya little punk.” Brandy snatched the baby by its little skull diaper. The vullaby kicked her little legs furiously. “Yeah, I know, this is really so mean of me. But ya can’t - eugh!”
Brandy jumped backwards, shooting her arms out to hold the vullaby as far away from herself as possible. She was forcibly reminded of an excerpt from an article she had read on mandibuzz a while back;
‘Their method of self-defense is to vomit their food, which they can send sailing 10 feet. If a mandibuzz is disturbed or harassed, it will throw up on the pokemon who is bothering it. Even the baby vullabies will vomit on other pokemon. Though these behaviors might distress people, they serve the mandibuzz line well. Vullaby vomit is an effective predator repellent.’
It became immediately apparent why this method of defense was so effective. Every instinct in Brandy’s body was screaming at her to drop the disgusting baby bird as fast as possible, and maybe even punt it away for good measure. But she had guests coming to the forest. Scientific guests, who would be able to tell immediately that this vullaby was wildly invasive to the forest that Brandy was responsible for. And so with a righteousness that would make arceus themself tremble, Brandy held on to the disgusting, wriggling vullaby.
Eventually, blessedly, the vullaby stilled. It glared at Brandy. Brandy glared back. Like hell was she gonna let this stupid idiot baby beat her in a staring contest. Brandy would stand there all day if they needed-
The stupid idiot baby blinked first. Probably because the stupid idiot baby wasn’t aware that it was in a staring contest, but Brandy took it as a surrender nonetheless.
“You are an evil little bastard bird, and you ruined my uniform.” Brandy informed the vullaby. She took a deep breath, which she immediately regretted. The smell from vullaby’s onslaught was going to linger, it seemed. “But you are an adorable evil little bastard. C’mon, stinky baby. Let’s get you back to the base.”
Brandy, Michael, and the vullaby made their way through the forest. Vullaby spend the entire time squawking away, though Brandy liked to imagine the vullaby was making conversation and not cussing Brandy out. Brandy was wrong about this, but it was still a nice thought.
When they finally reached the base they found a team of strangers - the researchers, Brandy assumed - talking excitedly with Brandy’s base leader, Joel.
“Hey, hey. Anyone lose a vullaby?”Brandy called out to them, mentally wincing at the fact that she wouldn’t have a chance to at least change her shirt before taking the group out.
The group looked over at Brandy’s shout. One of the researchers, a lady in a skirt that was not at all well suited to a day in the outdoors, immediately began checking her pokeballs.
“Oh, my sweet baby Chanel! Oh, you are such a little prankster, when did you leave your pokeball? Silly little baby, come here.”
Brandy walked the baby vullaby, Chanel, over to the woman. She handed the bird over, mustering a smile that she hoped was charming enough to distract from her vomit-covered shirt. “She’s quite the little runner. You know you should definitely try to keep an eye on her, at this age they can really-”
The moment that Chanel was out of Brandy’s hands and back with the woman, it gave another ‘battle squawk’. And with a swift bite to the woman’s hand and a strategic wiggle, she was once again free. Brandy could not hold back the dirty look she shot to the researcher as Chanel once again disappeared into the treeline.
