Just the Demon Dean stuff alone is interesting because it explores so many things that could have been. And now that I've binged this series, I'm so sad that I have to wait for the next episode like everyone else!

shjfdsfgdhf don't worry about it. i remember writing this fic in like insomnia fueled sadness so i am soooo sorry if the commentary is lacking but a big part of writing this was just. they are in love. they are DYING. but they have EACH OTHER. isn't it INSANEEE. so, you know! normal stuff! 😭😭😭

Dean watches him as he wheezes, moans. Quiets a little. His eyes grow slightly unfocused. It hurts to look at him. Dean keeps looking anyway.

like this first line is entirely about that. dean's seeing the love of his life die and HE KNOWS IT. and he knows there's nothing he can do to stop it. it hurts because there are the signs that cas is in pain. it hurts because cas can't save him, and cas tried to once, and he failed, and despite everything dean is still mad about that too. he's mad at himself for being cruel and he's mad at cas for failing and watching cas like this is both heart breaking and infuriating and he's DYING but he's not dead yet. he's still here and he keeps looking at cas, and he keeps poking at this hurt that's inside him, that's more than all these wounds that are killing him. ( dont ask me why he has wounds killing him in endverse idk.)

but the thing about dean is like. he cannot look away from cas. that's like the thesis statement of endverse destiel to me. there are so many terrible, intense, and powerful emotions these two feel for each other, and they are bad often, and they would be better off without each other but they just. they can't let go. they cannot stop touching each other. they can't stop poking at the other's wounds. they can't stop looking at each other. you know?

An angel who smote demons with a thought, reduced to the indignities of mortality by his calloused, human hands. Dean's done a lot of fucked up shit in his life but this — this takes the cake. When he's back on the racks in Hell this time, and for good, he'll deserve ever fucking second of it.

because im me, and because i cannot make dean really mean fr, and also im just bad at doing that, the anger that dean carries kind of distills into this heavy guilt and regret. which is also like a very real thing dean feels tbf. it's just that it usually manifests in anger for him. but he's dying. he's physically motionless. and he's looking at cas dying. and we're in his head and he's all about that self-flagellation in there.

There on his lashes is a tear. Dean looks at it — a little universe on the edge of Cas' lashes. It's silver and blue, and Dean wishes he was in it.

you're gonna find cas tears/dean looking at cas tears in all of my fics because i came out of the womb with something wrong in my brain fr. it's just that. i love it when i get to describe tears because they're basically so beautiful to imagine as a singular thing? they're like dewdrops, but they are from your person. and they come from your eyes. which are also super fun to decribe. you have the lip of your eyelids. you have your eyelashes. the skin at the corner of your eyes. crow's feet. the way the tears change the way your eyes look. the colour of them. the EMOTION. so you know. that. also. i just love that dean pays enough attention to cas' eyes that he catches these things. in this fic specifically, EVEN WHEN HE'S LITERALLY FADING OUT OF LIFE, he's looking at cas' eyes. looking at them as they close. looking at the little tear that's inconsequential bc he's bloody and it's probably just an involuntary physical response anyway. looking at it and seeing a world there and he wants to live there, in this little world on cas' eyelashes YOU UNDERSTAND?????

He wonders if it would matter. Once, when things hadn't been so bad, Cas would talk to him about these things — Timelines and multiverses and the effect of the flapping of a single butterfly's wings. He bets Cas would know what would happen if the other Dean made a different choice this time around. He bets he would know if it would matter. Then, the tear rolls down Cas' cheek, across his nose. Falls to the ground in a bloody splash. It's all — it's too much. It's overhwhelming.

again, like ik sam isn't here but discounting the things he said to dean before he killed him and the effect they might have on dean in his last moments is kind of not right. i know i don't really dwell on it too much here, but it is essentially the regrets of a lifetime catching up to dean in this moment, and he's not sure if there was another way, he's not sure what he could have done differently, and he's not sure if it would matter at all because lucifer just told him that no matter what choices he makes he would end up where he did.

and like. okay. this is a little fun thing to think about. but i do think cas is something of a safe space for dean. like when bad thinks happen, his thoughts inadvertently just turn towards cas. i do think this just made things worse in endverse proper because there's too much resentment there but in THIS VERSION of it, i think dean still draws some semblance of comfort from his presence and their shared past, and that's really all this moment is about. dean's looking at cas and he's thinking, the angel he once was, when things were simple, that angel could have given him answers but that angel is not here, and his little lovely world sitting on his lashes is falling into a bloody puddle of that ex-angel's blood and what is DEAN SUPPOSED TO DO????

"Lo—look at me, man."

but ask for this.

"Pl—Ple-ase, Cas," he begs.

beg for it, even.

"Hey there, Cas," Dean says. Tries to smile. The skin across his bones stretches painfully. Cas' face softens, then. Something that mirrors Dean's own smile carves itself into his bloody cheeks. There's something old, and quiet and familiar about the shift. "Hello, Dean," he says, and Dean's heart lurches. There you are, he thinks. There's my Cas.

LIKE. like. they're. they're still them you know??????? they've done things to each other that they can't come back from. but it's STILL THEM. and cas is dean's. and dean is his. and he just. and this is just a moment where everything is over, and it's still true. and dean's not sure if it's a blessing or a curse because atleast there is this. but also. there's everything else and he hasn't forgotten it. it's this push and pull between this burst of joy and this weight of regret, and the well of grief. it's just. a sad, loaded moment.

"Do what you wa-nt, ass-hole," he says. "For-Forgive me for try-ing, I guess." "No," Cas says. Heaves himself closer, still. "I won't. It's all too late." Yeah, okay. It is. It really is too damn late.

ngl i dont like the way i formatted this lmao. like i could've just said his voice was breaking??? idiot behaviour. i do that a lot. also not a fan of how the next couple of paragraphs go. like action-wise. i don't really know how i'd edit them yet, so i haven't. i've just sort of left them like that. but yeah.

ANYWAY. REGRET BOY.

also just getting into the cas side of it a little bit. i didn't spend nearly enough time on this fic to get into cas' brain a lot. (but also i do think it was for the best because i do do my best when im going off vibes and feelings my feelings rather than when i intellectualize what im writing and then i start getting bogged down by the details and i kill myself creatively.) but there are these parts of cas that do come through. and it's essentially kind of a mirror to dean's feelings. a lot of what cas feels is shame and it comes out as anger, and even in his last moments, he's not entirely able to let it go. which. he's valid for it like would YOU? i dont even know dean winchester and i still wanna kill him on the daily lol. but he also can't let dean go right. so there's all this shame about it. but also all these emotionally potent feelings of love and whatnot. and this is him drawing the line in the sand kind of. i love you. i can't forgive you. i hate you for it. i need you anyway. i hate myself for it. i should leave you. im pulling myself closer to you. etc.,

"I hate you," Cas says. Wheezes, really. "But I—," and Dean thinks Don't. Don't say the word. " I guess— Guess I needed you, too."

when they love each other so much they are literally using their dying breaths to be near each other but there is too much bad blood between them and that word is a curse now really because what the fuck does it mean that they love each other but chose to do the things they did to each other anyway. what does it mean that that love was not enough, even if it was the reason behind their every breath. how do you say it, knowing it doomed you, but feeling that guilty shameful joy that it atleast doomed you together???

the destiel answer: YOU DON'T.

literally my favorite thing is when they can't say it. lol stupid. insane. idiots. amazing i am obsessed with them.

Dean's relieved when Cas borrows his words. His arm's pinned between their bodies but he wiggles his fingers until he's got a fistful of Cas' shirt in his hands.

and this last line. is just. it's that desperate need to be with each other despite everything. like cas has likely broken dean's ribs in the moment before this. dean is actively dying. cas is making it worse and more painful. he could easily roll off dean tho and dean can't let it happen so he's wringgling the fingers of his trapped hand and fisting cas' shirt in it because he is sane and normal and i am okay i did not cry writing this no i did not this is just what healthy people think about.

like the thing with a lot of my writing is it is straight fluff, even when it's angsty. im not very good at conceptualizing conflict or writing it because im like. just talk about it like damn. and endverse is usually just a very tense and high conflict setting for these characters. i didn't plan on ever writing endverse honestly. but i think id just watched eeaao, and i was thinking about alt universes, and i decided to just do something that was more in my wheelhouse wrt to character interactions? for the longest time i did fully dislike this fic but i recently reread it and i think it 's pretty decent all things considered. especially because it does manage to channel a good chunk of canon characterization into my softer versions of these men .

Amelia Novak + the wreckage of my family

Sometimes I think about Amelia Novak's 10x20 line of trying to put her family back together.

Amelia Novak, trying valiantly to protect Jimmy, after realizing he wasn't lying about the demonic world he'd gotten mixed up in. Although it was ultimately Jimmy who invited the Devil in, she perhaps thinks she'd failed to support him when he needed her the most. This guilt propels her into further ruin. In SPN 10x20, Angel Heart, we get this:

AMELIA (tearfully): I was dreaming. This whole time, I was dreaming... of finding Jimmy, of putting my family back together. You're not him anymore. I can tell. CASTIEL: No. AMELIA: Where's Jimmy? CASTIEL: Your husband is in heaven. Amelia, I promised to protect your family, and I failed. AMELIA: Not if Claire's alive. She's all that matters. CASTIEL: Claire is alive. She's grown up to be a very strong-willed young woman. AMELIA: Oh, that's my girl. I just ... I shouldn't have ever left her. I-I thought if I could find Jimmy, I would make everything right. But I should've never left her. I shouldn't ... I shouldn't... (Amelia breaks down crying and Castiel embraces her)

You see Amelia...never stopped wanting to fix it. Like as it is with Dean (the symbolic mechanic), her devotion is marked by coming back together even after you've unimaginably failed one other. Like in SPN 7x17 The Born-again Identity:

CASTIEL: We didn't part friends, Dean. DEAN: So what? CASTIEL: I deserved to die. Now, I can't possibly fix it... So why did I even walk out of that river? DEAN: Maybe to fix it. Wait.

Sometimes, you are granted second chances, and sometimes, you are not.

Ultimately, both Jimmy AND Amelia fall prey to angels, and there is no second chance for them. It isn’t fair. It sucks. Faith can be a double-edged sword. Lo, faith in angels can be a triple-bladed dagger. It's a tragic thing.

And like when Dean touches a winged pony and sings along to Air Supply's "All Out of Love," and like Dean when searches desperately for Cas in Purgatory, Amelia is looking for Jimmy, desperately wanting to find him. Because she is consumed by regret and guilt. She feels like she did not support him when he needed her the most.

And what would you say if I called on you now And said that I can't hold on? There's no easy way, it gets harder each day Please love me or I'll be gone I'll be gone <Dean starts mouthing along> … I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without youI know you were right believing for so long I'm all out of love, what am I without you?I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong… Oh, what are you thinking of? <Sam, witnessing something unbearably private for his brother, awkwardly cuts the radio off>

In SPN 10x20, Angel Heart, we see that Amelia falls prey to Grigori.

This Grigori lures her with the illusion of the repair of her family. Just as Jimmy fell prey to the Heavenly warrior-class of Angel, who lured him with the promise of glory of purpose and the promise of protection for his family from the Apocalypse. (That's why we pray to gods, isn't it? To become under their holy protection?) But Grigori are a disturbing revelation about the truth of not just Grigori themselves, but the symbolic truth of angels as a whole, as well as their place in the predatory rank of the cosmic hierarchy, (at least in comparison to humans).

DEAN: Grigori. (Scene changes back to Sam walking through the house gun drawn and ready walking away from the kitchen doorway. We hear Dean say ‘The watcher angels’ as Holloway appears in the shadows of the open doorway. Scene changes back to Dean and Claire at the hotel) CLAIRE: So are they good or bad? DEAN: Well, some of the lore says that they, uh, they help people, and some says that they prey on people.

HOLLOWAY: I'm a Grigori. A watcher angel. SAM: Since when do angels feed on humans? HOLLOWAY: Since the dawn of man. SAM: What are you talking about? HOLLOWAY: Your souls... (Holloway walks behind Sam and Sam hides the nail in his hands) Are little slices of heaven that are, if properly kept, delicious meals that can last for years, decades even. SAM: You're not an angel. You're a monster. (Holloway laughs and reaches out to lightly punch Sam on the shoulder) HOLLOWAY: Ahh. (Holloway turns around quickly and draws his sword on Sam so that it is pointing directly at Sam’s face) HOLLOWAY: There were hundreds of us, but now... (Holloway raises the sword up to show an inscription on the blade) Each of our names inscribed on our swords. A brotherhood of perfectly crafted, engineered beings sent to protect you pathetic, bottom-feeding disasters.

Amelia cannot repair the ghostly specter of her perfect family. But she can save what's left of it.

HOLLOWAY: You know there's no fixing her, right? (Claire drops Amelia and aims her gun at Holloway. She shoots him four times in the chest. On the fifth shot the gun clicks, as if it’s empty. Claire shoots several more times with the same result. Holloway shakes his head and walks towards Claire, Angel sword in hand) HOLLOWAY: You really think that's gonna hurt an angel of the Lord? (Holloway moves to strike Claire and Amelia jumps in between them) AMELIA: No! Aah! (Holloway stabs Amelia straight through the chest and then pulls out the sword. Amelia falls to the ground and Claire kneels behind her, holding her up. Holloway looks on, smirking) CLAIRE (crying): Mom! Mom! Mom!

Dean, too, tried to save what was left of his family. With John gone, he followed in his father's footsteps, reaching for the protection of the child at his own expense.

"I was dreaming... of finding Jimmy, of putting my family back together."

And that's sort of what Sam & Dean are doing the whole time, and why he and Sam both hang in this terrible ghost of arrested development. They're reaching for this broken, idealized childhood that they were denied. They crave that lost, nebulous ghost of stability and trust.

“Fixing” is admirable; it's a sign of devotion. But it can also foolhardy when carried to extremes. Sometimes, you get second chances, and sometimes you do not.

There's no perfect answer. Only...

...that hope is so very, very human.

CASTIEL: So no one made a deal? ZACK: No one's making deals. Like, at all. Uh, Rowena has a hard "people will end up where they belong" philosophy. It can be nice, less quotas. But, like, look at me, uh, a crossroads demon who can't bring in a deal? Like, what, uh, what even am I?

Again the notion of people going where they deserve, with Rowena getting rid of crossroads deals.

The Se7en homage is fun, if only for the horror, except I can’t quite imagine Sylvia actually doing it - killing people, sure, but setting up these elaborate traps for them is a bit much. She’s an interesting contrast for both Jack and Dean: a young woman who lost her mother and is now lost in her grief, blaming her father for “making fun of” of her mother’s trust in God and upset that his flock seems to trust him more than they trust God, deciding to take matters into her own hands.

PASTOR: Jesus. Allah. Yahweh. Buddha. Krishna. Gaeia. The Four Winds. Castiel enters the building. God, you go by so many names. But it doesn't matter what we call you. It matters how we live. Come be among us as we provide for those less fortunate. And please help us in welcoming our newest friend, Jack. ... CASTIEL: My name is, um well, my name's not important. I do know what blind faith is. I used to just follow orders without question, and I did some pretty terrible things. I would never look beyond the plan. And then, of course, when it all came crashing down, I found myself lost. I didn't know what my purpose was anymore. And then one day, something changed, something amazing. I... I guess I found a family, and I became a father. And in that, I rediscovered my faith. I rediscovered who I am.

It’s the Dadstiel ep!! It’s sweet, I wish I cared more for Cas as a character so I could enjoy it more, but here’s one for you, Casgirls. (I do like how this ep sort of re-frames Cas’s faith in Jack as him caring about Jack as a person, as his kid, rather than the promise of Jack bringing to life a magical paradise. Also, of course, that following orders from on-high isn’t the right thing; making your own choices is.)

There’s also Jack learning how to be a “good” God from Pastor Joe. It’s not about the specific God you believe in, but about the goodness in human hearts and people’s willingness to take care of each other. Jack is one who ultimately stops Valerie with his powers; his human-angelic goodness against her dark faith in God and punishing those she sees as wicked for their sins.

DEAN: No, no. No. Why did you bring her back? You said that you wanted to show me something, that you wanted to, uh to teach me something. I don't know if you were following along, but your little experiment, it came to a not-so-happy ending. My mom is dead. So what exactly did you want to show me? What was the point? AMARA: I wanted two things for you, Dean. I wanted you to see that your mother was just a person, that the myth you'd held onto for so long of a better life, a life where she lived, was just that, a myth. I wanted you to see that the real, complicated Mary was better than your childhood dream because she was real. That now is always better than then. That you could finally start to accept your life. [DEAN looks away then.] DEAN: And the second thing? AMARA: I thought having her back would release you, put that fire out. Your anger. But I guess we both know I failed at that.

This whole exchange explains A LOT about the Dabb era, huh. Particularly how the writers understood / framed Dean & his characterization.

I reblogged it to this blog specifically to make sure it was spn related and not something else lol

favorite character: Michael!!! He has barely any time on screen but there are so many things that happened to him off screen that I would like to explore. I kind of wish they did in the show but first off: they would ruin it and I would do it better and second off: there wasn't a way to fit anything more about him and Adam in because they only really joined for the second to last episode and what happened before his introduction wouldn't fit in well because we aren't given a lot of information on the angels so it would be weird to give him a full backstory. Jack and Belphegor are contenders though :) I love pretty much every non human character so it is hard to pick.

least favorite character: Dean? Sam? I think Sam is my least favourite because he is so boring and doesn't change and just stays boring and annoying. Dean is a close second though, but I can appreciate the fact that he actually has a personality (as horrible as it is) .

brOTP: Sam and Rowena!! Lots of people ship them but I personally just think they are besties. Also!! Cas and Meg! I think they are sweethearts i think people take their relationship as being either more complicated or as being romantic (as romantic as it can be) but I get reminded of us when I think about them!! Meg is squishing on Cas. Cas is also squishing on her but he has zero fucking clue what that means or would feel like. Simply an oblivious puppy.

OTP: midam(?) Michael and Adam, I think they work really well together and I love the idea of how they managed to come together and like each other. They started off in a really horrible situation, changed each other for the better, and found solace. It's sweet. I like it both platonically and romantically but I lean more towards the romantic aspect.

OT3: I can't think of any, but if I had to pick maybe like, Dean, Benny, and Cas. But not as a throuple, more like Benny just has two boyfriends. I do genuinely ship Dean and Benny, and I think Benny and Cas would get along if they actually got to really know each other.

NOTP: Destiel. Cas deserves so much better than that abusive man whore (derogatory). Enough said.

favorite storyline: Kelly's pregnancy and Jack's birth. They managed to show off Jack's power and how scared everyone is of him, whilst also confirming he isn't a bad person. They used Cars to confirm that though, which is something I like, because as trustworthy as Cas is, he does have a tendency to mess things up while he's trying to help, or to not fully understand situations he is in. I also think Jack was a good way to give Cas a personal sense of purpose.

least favorite storyline: Bobby's time in the after life.

what I wish had happened but didn't: apart from Cas breaking up with Dean? I would have loved for there to be a little bit more subversive experiences with the supernatural beings! They established all Angels (besides a few) are dicks so why not have some more demons that aren't only in it for their own gain? Vampires that only do consensual blood sucking!! More "good" witches. Etc. Etc. I don't want an in depth monster revolution because that would fit in, but if more mentioned how they get treated in passing I think that could be nice. Some vampire said something like "they think they're so much better than us for not drinking blood" (paraphrasal) and I want there to be more of that energy. Some ghoul should criticize Dean's eating habits or something. "Oh? You eat processed meat... Atleast I scavenge" something like that.

what happened that I wish hadn't: for the finale they killed Dean and then had a weird montage with Sam and his son, as well as a montage of Dean driving through heaven, and then it ends with Sam coming back to heaven. I kind of wish they just ended it with Dean dying so that what Jack did wouldn't be confirmed, and neither would Sam's life. I think what they showed is good, Sam has always wanted to leave hunting, Jack would fix things, but I think it would have been nice to have that all be inference based on what we know about the characters instead of having it as a fact. It might have been nice if they still showed Dean meeting Bobby in heaven and then just ended it there, because that would show the type of change Jack did to heaven without telling us you know?

There are a lot of hounarable mentions for the ships and favourite character questions haha.

Y’all (Mary (hi)), guess who has two thumbs and is forgoing the like four day break I had allowed myself because after last week, I can no longer fathom ever doing two episodes in one day. So. I AM still taking Christmas off, but every day other than that, I will be watching ONE episode (with the exception of NYE of course when I will watch over three hours of tv which will take me a stupid amount of time to talk about)

Plot Description: Chuck returns to Earth and debates with Amara about whether the world is worth preserving. As Jack faces a big test, Sam and Dean do not see eye to eye

Would I Survive the First Five Minutes??: I suppose no one died. All other universes were already killed off, and Chuck just returned to this one

How many times has there only been one way to do something on this show and then they found another at the eleventh hour??

Dean. Dean, you know I love you, but for someone who’s hated living in another person’s story for so long, blindly following the orders in the death book Billie has on Chuck feels a lot like the same. It doesn’t MATTER how you feel, you say?? Boy…

You are one of his three dads, Dean. What, he’s not family because he came here later?? Come on…oooof, he heard you say he’s not family like Sam and Cas are (you’d think after however many months, my phone would have learned not to automatically capitalize the a in Cas)

Oh Amara. Oh sweet Amara (never thought I’d say that but here we are). You gave your brother so many outs, you brought him to a place where you could hold him captive til (I presume) Dean and Jack get there and then you’ll be betrayed for all your efforts. You deserve better

You know what would have been better than the entire British Men of Letters plot? Those twins where at least one was a witch, and one died and the other used necromancy to bring her back? What if something had happened with them after that??

Dean, you’ve met Eve. You think she’d still be hanging around Adam all these years if he’s like this?

while i’m tempted to think that setting up 3-4 opposing sides (Chuck, Empty, Billie, TFW) in s15 was cool, but ultimately with the Empty and Billie plots being unfounded, it kind of fell apart (God’s book, ‘you made it loud’, etc).

like Death’s Library as a concept becomes an instant fucking enemy to a series of characters known as Team Free Will. like of COURSE that’s not going to work out. i get where Billie was coming from with wanting to put the pieces back where they came from— and considering how much i hate Apocalypse World versions of people being treated as Our World’s versions... like fucking you go good!!! but then that makes her a villain against Sam and Dean and Cas who constantly choose each other and the power to make that choice OVER Death.

like i can’t even wrap my head around what they were TRYING to do bc if Cas gets kicked from the empty bc he made it loud and annoying, why would the Empty want him back? even in a deal? even to support billie? something about Cas being in the empty makes the whole thing fall apart. is he too human at that point? is the fabric of the afterlife falling apart?

maybe i’m just thinking out loud bc i would LOVE to write a 14.18 onward fix it (cause that’s the point where i think the ship steers into an iceberg) but the mechanics of the supernatural universe and motivations of the Big Player Characters are so flimsy (which is why i haven’t even mentioned Amara in this post bc i fucking hate her ending).

i understand that the original Death kind of stood for fate (remember the Fates? My Heart Will Go On? that was fucking insane why didn’t we continue that), but wouldn’t it be sooooo interesting if Billie didn’t? if once Billie became Death, she was like... actually i think people should have Good Afterlifes. i think angels and demons deserve something better than the Empty and i think heaven is fucked up and that’s her motivation. she doesn’t care what’s happening on earth— who cares if the Empty tries to kill TFW or Chuck tries to destroy the world if they have nowhere good to go?

i don’t know how i would fix the Empty/The Deal bc again i have no idea why the hell the Empty wants the thing that broke it. i also think i would set fire to Death’s Library. and i think Billie holds the match.

10x04: Paper Moon

Durham, Washington

The music right away clues us in that we’re dealing with a werewolf episode. And while we don’t see all of her, we watch as a woman with pretty lipstick and half a heart charm wanders through a biker bar. She’s THE werewolf, and she takes her unsuspecting prey to the alley and enjoys a late night snack.

Sam and Dean Winchester are wearing sunglasses, drinking beer, and enjoying what will probably be the closest thing they’ll ever get to a beach day. Dean ribs Sam about a broken elbow (and I love how Jared’s numerous real-life injuries had to be worked into the show --what’s your reasoning for this Chuck!?)

(Oh, I’m watching this out of order and just realized that Sam and Cas saved Dean from being a demon in the last episode. Cas should be on this trip too, damnit.)

Sam asks Dean how he’s doing. Dean says he’s doing fine. Dean asks Sam if he saw the paper that morning. Sam agrees to put some guys on it. Dean suggests that they take this milkrun. Sam agrees. So much for no hunting.

Game Wardens’ Sam and Dean learn that bodies are showing up with no hearts.

The brothers head to the bar to check out the story about a woman bringing the vic behind the bar before he died. They interview the witness, but he’s not talking about any girl now --he’s no snitch. Dean reassures the guy that he can tell them anything and they’ll believe it.

The guy thinks the girl was a ghost.

The brothers head out to the farm where he saw the ghost. Dean finds lots of headless chickens and scratches on the barn door. He also finds a woman on the phone. She smells Dean and runs --right into Sam.

It’s Kate! (#TeamBitten)

They tie her up and make her tell her story. She tells them it was too hard in the life. She just wants them to do what they plan on doing. Dean pulls his gun, but hesitates, and Sam pulls him aside to talk. Sam suggests that he take care of her, but then gets a call that there’s been another attack. WHERPS. Kate escapes while the brothers debate her innocence.

Dean gets a lead from Kate’s phone and they head to the Lincoln Motel. While driving they check in with each other again about how ready they both are to hunt again. They don’t really say anything and just skirt around their problems.

(They talk A LONG time about Lester, a character that I haven’t thought about much in the Sam mosaic of this show conversation, tbh.)

They track --who they think is Kate-- through the woods. It’s not Kate, and she’s so confused why two men with guns are confronting her on her walk. Dean walks up to her to test her, and she acts innocent until BOOM teeth time! She throws them both to the ground and almost makes Sam a snack before Kate hauls her off him. The girl runs away and Kate reveals that she’s her sister! (OH so the heavy handed conversation about Lester was to drive home the story of two siblings and their cycle of what makes a man/monster good.)

She made her sister a werewolf. And her sister is the one killing all these people.

They head to a nautical-themed cafe for answers. Kate makes it clear that she will never hurt anyone that doesn’t deserve it. She’s never eaten a human heart. Dean wants to know her sister’s story. They hold a tense hidden-weapon-filled conversation. Kate reveals that she carries a silver knife in case she ever flips off the werewolf deep end. She eats wild game hearts and does yoga to stay sane. (Come on, Dean. Get bendy!)

Kate explains that she avoided going home for many years to protect her family - until she learned that her sister was in danger of dying after a car accident. She turned her sister to save her life. Unfortunately, her sister didn’t take to the yoga lifestyle…and started eating people instead. “She’s family,” Kate explains - and the Winchesters share a loaded look. She tried to save her sister, but she’ll “take care of her” in the BAD WAY if it comes to it. Dean tells her earnestly that both she and Tasha can be cured.

Outside, Sam confronts Dean on his plan, which fully involves lying to Kate about the cure. There’s one cure - and it’s STABBY STABBY. In the car later, while Kate sleeps, Sam reveals that he actually threw more people under the bus in his search for demon Dean than just Lester. In a softer moment, Dean thanks him for rescuing him. Uh. Good talk, boys.

They arrive at the cabin where Tasha is hiding out, but before Kate can see her sister, Dean cuffs her to the steering wheel.

She realizes there’s no cure. Dean tells her there’s no hope for Tasha now - she’s in too deep! He’s definitely not talking about himself here AT ALL! Inside the cabin, Sam frowns down at the happy family pictures of Tasha and Kate before finding Tasha in her old room. He pulls a gun on her, only to find that Tasha has turned a few werewolves of her own…and her buddy has a gun trained on Dean Bean.

The brothers get disarmed, and Tasha introduces Kate to her two new were-boy-toys. She tells Kate that she can stay with her if she eats Sam’s heart. Ah, yes! Pit the two narrative parallels against each other! Classic.

Side note alert! This exchange:

Werewolf Stooge: On your knees!

Dean: Wow. I’m awfully flattered.

File under: Things that make me chew glass. Anyway, the Winchesters get subdued by the two stooge werewolves in another room, Kate and Tasha argue. Tasha LOVES being a werewolf - she’s like a superhero! (But without the hero part.)

The two stooge werewolves (one long haired, one short haired, smh) attack, only to get stabbed in short order by the Winchesters.

Kate and Tasha express their love for each other and embrace, and then Kate stabs her sister with her break-glass-in-case-of-emergency-blade. When the Winchesters arrive in the room, they find Tasha dead on the floor and Kate long gone.

In the car later, they talk about whether they should hunt Kate. Sam’s glad they didn’t kill Kate because she stopped her sister. But he’s concerned that they’re not ready to hunt. He ALSO wants to hold emotional discussions about the Mark. Dean’s not into that, and gets saved from more emotionally constipated discussion by Kate calling Tasha’s phone. They tell her they’ll see her around. “I sure as hell hope not,” she replies. Hashtag relatable!

Back in the car, Dean admits that he may not be ready to hunt. But “I’m just trying to do the right thing, man. ‘Cause I’m so sick and tired of doing the wrong one.”

And with that plaintive remark we exit, having faded to black.

SURELY somebody has written meta comparing this episode with Season 15’s Proverbs 17:3, right? Proverbs 17:3 elevates this episode by mere association. The werewolf siblings! The death! The bonk you on the nose parallels! The hunting cabin complete with antlers! I need to read it while I nibble delicately on this entree of season 15 appreciation (as always, garnished with finale regret and rage). Please send!!!

Plot: When you made a deal with a crossroad demon, you offered your human life to save the boys. When you finally return from Hell, you fear to go back home.

You never wanted to end up this way, you were human at one point in time. You were a friend of the Winchesters and dated their friend and angel Castiel, but once you ended up in Hell it was over. It was all because you made a deal with a crossroads demon to save your friends and yourself in the long run, but it came with a price like any other demon deal.

After being stuck in Hell for three years, you were allowed to leave, but you didn't go back home. You knew that if Sam, Dean, and Cas found out then there would be a likely chance of them hurting or maybe even killing you, so you didn't go back and you probably won't.

You rolled over in the motel bed, wondering where to go next. You didn't have the money for food (even though you didn't need it anymore, you ate it to not raise suspicion) and barely had enough to pay for the room. You just wanted to be back home doing research with Sam or eating pie with Dean or just cuddling with Cas in your room. You missed all of it and it was your fault that can't go back. It was your decisions and your thoughts that refused you to let you go back to them.

You got out of the bed and walked over to the little kitchenette area and pulled the switchblade from your pocket and grabbed the little salt shaker. You poured water on the end of the blade and put salt on it, making it stick. You aimed your knife at your heart and went for it, but never made contact with your skin. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw the beige trenchcoat, and the tears you didn't know you were holding back began to fall.

Castiel didn't say anything as your knees buckled and you fell to the floor. He heard the news from both the angels and the demons but he wasn't sure if he believed it when he saw the tears roll down your face.

"(Y/N)?"

"Get away from me!" You sobbed. "Please, just go away."

"Come back home," Cas said softly while kneeling beside you, "we won't do anything to harm you."

"No, no," you whimpered while shaking your head in denial. "You're gonna say that and then I'm gonna show up and you're gonna hurt me."

"(Y/N)," Cas repeated while putting his hand on your shoulder, making you flinch back, "we won't hurt you. We know you haven't done anything to hurt anyone. I won't let anyone hurt you."

Cas seemed to be reading your mind. You knew all the Winchester's plans and schemes and you knew that they probably followed Cas and had their salt guns and exorcisms ready. You saw Cas shake his head, "No, they're not with me, they're at Bobby's. I haven't told them anything."

"Bobby's place is laced with traps and you know that. It'll hurt me if I even go near there so that's why I'm not going back. I don't deserve to go back and I don't deserve to be loved either. Demons can't be loved or feel love, what makes me so different from the rest of the demons? Is it because I was a human before? Is that what makes me so different?"

Cas grabbed your hand and it hurt you, not physically, but mentally. "You think you being a demon makes any difference? I tried everything to get you back even knowing the consequences of your deal. I tried breaking it, I tried to offer myself instead, I tried going after you, but nothing worked. Sam and Dean tried everything too, we've all been worrying for the past three years. We all want you home with us. I still love you, (Y/N).”

It was funny to you. You watched him smite demons without hesitation but he wouldn't dare hurt you and that just made you so mad. You wanted him to do the right thing, something a hunter would naturally do. He's an angel and you're a demon and it wasn't right!

He pulled you into and held you. You felt yourself begin to cry again as you held onto his coat to the point where your fists shook and your knuckles turned white. Only Castiel could see the humanity left in you and you wanted to yell at him for it. Only he can be so naïve.

He placed a kiss on your head and you felt yourself relax. For once in weeks you've finally relaxed. You did want to go home, get out of this dirty motel room, and into some new clothes.

"Maybe we can go home," you told Cas quietly. "But how are we going to tell Sam, Dean, and Bobby?"

"They all assumed this would happen, I don't think they would be very upset."

You gave a soft nod as you finally let go of him and wiped your tears away. "Will you take me home?"

"Of course, (Y/N)."

{BONUS}

You and Cas looked at each other before walking into Bobby's. You forgot what the house looked like. You stepped onto the rug and stopped because of the devil's trap.

"(Y/N)?" Sam asked, making sure it was you. You nodded and his smile grew. "Dean! Bobby! (Y/N)'s back!"

The first scripted I love you! Cas looks to Dean, as if hearing him for the first time. They’re chased by Heaven, pushed to an abandoned warehouse, a basement, a crypt. (Symbolically, they should both be dead…and yet here they are, trying to connect and understand one another despite their different povs and their work and family obligations… Cas’s loyalty is devoted to Heaven; Dean’s to Hunting).

This truly is the mated scene to the 15x18 one: chased by death, pushed below an abandoned power station, the bunker, the dungeon. (Symbolically, losing each other is torture.)

birthday meta for the birthday boy <3

[this version of the meta is behind a cut. if you’d prefer the no-cut version, it’s here.]

a fun little fanon from Ye Olde Days of spn (when seasons 1-5 were airing) was that sam always had the absolute worst birthdays. a big part of this is because sam’s birthday is in may. supernatural tends to align itself with “real time,” meaning that they like to use either the date the episode was filmed or the date it aired as the in-universe date, even when two canon dates conflict each other. (they’re so intent on doing this that they pretended the gap years between s5 & s6 and s7 & s8 right out of existence - season openers also usually tend to pick up right after season finales in-universe but still somehow be set several months later.) that means sam’s birthday tends to line up with the airdates on either season finales or episodes right before the finales, which means that every time sam gets a year old, shit hits the fan.

here’s a list of things that did happen or could have happened on some of sam's birthdays:

0-22: we don’t have much in the way as far as concrete dates go for preseries stuff, but it’s perfectly possible sam walked out all that bullshit the day he turned 18, even if i prefer to think he left at age 19 as that aligns rather tragically with some adam-related canon.

23: we don’t have any dates for the end of s1/opening of s2 either, but it’s likely that sam’s birthday took place between 1.20 (dead man’s blood) and 2.01 (in my time of dying). he could have been doing anything from hunting vampires to saving one of YED’s special children to almost shooting his possessed father to getting hit by a semi to using a ouija board to talk to his not-quite-dead brother.

24: here’s where the real fun starts >:) sam died in cold oak in 2.21 (all breaks loose pt 1) and in the episode he says he’s 23. but according to the lore (extra-canonical material), dean made the deal to bring him back on his 24th birthday...

25: ...which means that on his 25th birthday, he was forced to watch dean get dragged to hell...

25b: ...except that sam had TWO 25th birthdays, because mystery spot took place in february, and sam lived in an alternate timeline where dean stayed dead for 6 months, putting him well past may 2nd. which meant that the first time he turned 25, he was actually getting tortured by gabriel. while his brother was getting tortured (or torturing someone else) in hell.

26: 4.20 (the rapture) took place in very late april/very early may (the wiki says may 3, but that’s just a guess), and 4.21 (when the levee breaks) picks up immediately where it left off. so it’s not only plausible but EXTREMELY LIKELY that sam was locked up in the panic room suffering withdrawals when he turned 26, dude

26b: ...except that in 11.17 (safe house), bobby and rufus’s half of the episode presumably takes place at the same time during season 4, and he mentions sam and dean are in reno?? so you know they could have been doing that instead.

27: we have no hard and fast dates for the end of season 5, but it’s my personal headcanon that sam’s birthday took place during 5.22 (swan song), and he beat the devil and leapt into hell on the day he turned 27 - because at this point, why not. however, his birthday could also have taken place during either 5.20 (the devil you know) or 5.21 (two minutes to midnight), meaning he was reconfronting his old college pal who turned out to be a demon brady, or helping bobby and a human cas destroy the factory with the croatoan virus.

28: there’s a gap year between s5 and s6, so sam’s 28th birthday took place while he was soulless, hunting with the campbell family...

28b: ...except spn likes to say “a year passed” without adding one to the calendar, so sam ALSO had a 28th birthday during the airing of s6. there’s some conflicting information about s6′s timeline, so this could have happened anywhere from 6.18 (frontierland) to 6.21 (let it bleed). sam could have been doing anything from time traveling to fighting eve to grappling with cas going dark side to rescuing lisa and ben.

29: sam’s 29th birthday almost definitely took place during 7.20 (the girl with the dungeons and dragons tattoo), during which he met charlie. in case you’ve forgotten, that was actually a great day for him - in a moment of true little brother antics and justifiable homophobia, he got to laugh at dean gay flirting with the security guard.

30: there was another gap year between s7 and s8, which means that sam spent the big three-oh with amelia richardson while dean and cas were in purgatory. he got to have a picnic!

30b: ...but since spn ignores gap years, sam ALSO had a 30th birthday during s8 (a big season for him). there isn’t an exact date for the episodes leading up to the finale, which takes place in late may, after sam’s birthday, so his birthday could have taken place in either 8.21 (the great escapist), where he nearly died of his trial-induced fever and confessed to dean that he always felt unclean, or during 8.22 (clip show), where he met sarah blake again after nearly a decade, only to have her die right in front of him.

31: the s9 timeline is pretty vague, but the best guess for this one is 9.18 (meta fiction), in which sam finally gets to confront gadreel, the angel who possessed him and killed kevin with his hands

32: the s10 timeline is also short on dates, so sam’s birthday could have taken place anywhere between 10.16 (paint it black) and 10.21 (dark dynasty). a few possible things sam could have been doing: dealing with a hunt involving soulless people, helping cas and bobby break metatron out of heaven’s prison, catching up with charlie and giving rowena the book of the damned, battling the cursed werther house (don’t click that unless you’ve seen the episode, the twist is TOO good), reuniting claire with her mom, or building charlie’s pyre.

33: the last quarter or so of s11 happens really quickly sequentially, every episode picking up soon after the last one left off, which means that sam’s birthday either took place at the very end of the season or the beginning of s12. it’s most likely he turned 33 either the day dean saved the sun and sam himself got shot and kidnapped by toni bevell, or a few days later when he was being held captive and tortured in her basement.

34: unfortunately, sam’s 34th birthday almost definitely took place during 12.21 (there’s something about mary). i was really hoping it’d be 12.22 so he could be kicking the bmol’s asses, learning lucifer was back, and hugging mary, but no...instead he was mostly likely learning that ketch had had eileen killed.

35: because of some weird canon, the timeline for season 13 is actually batshit insane and makes no sense whatsoever, which means sam’s birthday is really early this season - either during 13.17 (the thing) where he rescues his brother from a frisky tentacle monster or 13.18 (bring ‘em back alive) where he hangs out with gabriel and cas in the bunker. since that’s garbage, you’d be forgiven for ignoring canon and pretending sam’s birthday fell on one of the following episodes - 13.19 (funeralia) is very touching, as he and rowena clash and then make up with each other; 13.21 (beat the devil) has sam capturing lucifer, then dying and getting revived and captured by him; 13.22 has sam getting a little revenge by leaving lucifer for dead; 13.23, of course, has lucifer finally dying for good.

36: there’s no dates whatsoever on the back half of s14, so theoretically sam’s birthday could take place in any episode after 14.13 (lebanon). the likeliest and COOLEST candidate is for sam to turn 36 during 14.20, in which he shoots god himself point blank. other admittedly inferior scenarios include his stint as justin the 50s househusband, mary’s death, or putting jack in the ma’lak box.

37: we saw this birthday happen onscreen during 15.14 (last holiday) at a party thrown by mrs. butters. unfortunately, not too long after that, she wound up torturing him by pulling out his fingernails.

38: that’s this year! because the timeline of s15 is also so weird and vague, partially fucked up by covid changing the shooting/airing times, and because sam’s birthday is SO early in s15, it’s possible that he has another one this season, right at the end, or maybe post-canon, which means............................................

...................................................that he’s spending it with dean and jack and the newly revived eileen and cas, in the bunker or somewhere else he feels safe and loved :)

When it happens, Dean’s so hyped up by the adrenaline still coursing through his system that he almost doesn’t notice. It’s not until Sam dispatches the last vamp and Dean sags a little in relief, only to realize he can’t move. He’s pinned, like a butterfly in a display case, like he’s back on the rack.

It’s almost funny. That he could battle every sort of evil creature out there—demons, monsters, even God for fuck’s sake, only to be taken down by a bit of unfinished carpentry. He ponders the cosmic significance. Maybe there’s the start of a Jesus metaphor here, with that single nail between his flesh and the wooden post, like he’s only up to C-R-U in a fucked up game of H-O-R-S-E.

Then he remembers there is no God, no universe sending him signs or trying to teach him a lesson. Just his own free will and, apparently, shitty fucking luck that’s brought him to this inglorious moment.

Sam doesn’t get it, not at first, promising he’ll run and call for help, do what he can to patch him up but Dean stops him, asks him to stay. Yeah, they could probably do all that but Dean realizes something: he’s tired. And not only that, he’s ready.

Each night since Cas has been gone, Dean lies in bed and turns his name around and around in his mind, like a rock in a tumbler, smoothing all sides of it with his thoughts. It’s not praying, not quite, the intention isn’t there, but if Cas can still sense his longing, well, he's got that in spades. Cas gave his life for Dean, professing his love in a way that couldn’t have been more clear and Dean…he just stood there processing it all.

Dean tried to do what he always does and tucked the stunned grief he felt at losing him deep inside where the jagged edges couldn’t harm him. He rededicated himself to powering Jack up, to killing God, like finishing that would somehow make Cas’s sacrifice worth it. And when Jack became whatever it was that he became, Dean didn’t ask about Cas, even though the question was right there, trying to force its way out of his throat. Instead, he swallowed it back down. Cas had said that moment was the purest happiness he’d ever known and Dean didn’t know what to say next without defiling it.

It’s the shittiest version of waiting too long to text back until so much time has passed that it’s become awkward.

But now, with this piece of metal jabbed into what sure as fuck feels like some important organs, he finds he has some time to think. He’s got nothing left to lose, so he lets Cas’s name become an honest prayer.

The whoosh is nearly instantaneous, somehow closer than even the rushing of his pulse in his ears. It seems fitting that they’re back in a barn, although this time Dean’s the one being impaled. He hears a crackling, but it isn’t the lights showering him in sparks, just the anger flickering off of him, electricity as blue as his eyes.

He doesn’t even say it, no Hello, Dean, and yeah, Cas is pissed and Dean deserves that.

As Cas approaches, Dean realizes Sam doesn’t seem to notice him, in fact he’s faded out into the background so it’s just the two of them.

“You called?” His tone is cold, much closer to the first time they met in a barn than the last time they were together. Cas had been so human, then, emotion choking his words and filling his eyes with tears.

“I, uh, find myself in a bit of a pickle,” Dean says, and already that’s wrong.

Cas raises an eyebrow. “More like a piece of art hung on the wall.”

Dean’s mouth opens, then closes, then opens again. “Was that a joke?”

“What is it you need from me, Dean?”

It should be obvious, but Dean can’t seem to say it.

“The stories they will tell,” Cas begins, “of Dean Winchester, the greatest hunter of his time, brought down by a lowly nail.” He sighs, and holds out two fingers. “I can do this but it would’ve been nice if you’d at least kept up to date on your tetanus shots.”

Dean feels a grinding in his teeth that he probably can’t yet blame on lockjaw. He tries to duck out of Cas’s reach. “Okay, stop.”

With a look of surprise, Cas does.

“Listen, I know I should’ve contacted you earlier. I get you’re mad, I do, but all those things you said…I didn’t want you to come back and realize how wrong you were.”

“So you’ve been looking for a way to ‘let me down easy’,” he says, air quotes and all, and goddammit Dean loves him. He loves his cranky angel ass and his wild hair and stupidly blue eyes the way he’s insisted on leaving Dean affixed to this pole while they talk.

“I love you, too. I have for so long. I never dreamed you could feel the same way, not like that.” Dean can barely breathe now that he's said the words out loud.

“You’re a hard man to pin down, Dean Winchester.” There’s a small smile playing around Cas's mouth now, and the relief has Dean laughing much harder than he would at the terrible pun. It hurts and his laughter turns to a grimace. Cas touches his arm. “Let me heal you.”

But Dean shakes his head, reaching to take his hand instead. “I’m ready, Cas. Ready for what’s next. If you heal me, Sam’s going to stay and keep hunting and maybe that’s what he wants but maybe it isn’t. Either way, he’s never going to decide for himself while I’m still here.”

Cas’s face is as serious as Dean’s ever seen it, but he sees a flicker of hope in his eyes. “And you?”

“Thought maybe you could escort me upstairs and we could spend eternity making up for all we missed down here.” Cas’s face goes soft and Dean bring their joined hands to his mouth, kissing his knuckles gently. “I wish it would’ve been you,” Dean says softly. “Nailing me from behind like this.”

At that, Sam suddenly zooms back into focus, his face anguished. “Cas! Oh, thank God you’re here. Dean’s—“

“Sammy, stop. I’m okay. We got a change in plans, though.”

Confused, Sam looks between them, finally noticing their joined hands.

“We’re free now. Free to make our own choices and for once in my life I’m going to be selfish. I choose Cas. I dragged you back into this life and now I’m shoving you out of it again. You want to keep hunting? That’s up to you. But if you want to go find Eileen and settle down, that’s up to you, too.”

Sam blinks, clearly caught off guard. “Dean, are you sure?”

Dean catches Cas’s eye and they share a smile. “As sure as I’ve ever been.” Dean tries to reach for his brother to hug him, but he’s brought up short. “Cas, could you…”

“Of course, Dean.” With a wave of his hand, Dean’s free and he steps forward to embrace Sam. “Go have the life you always wanted. Have a bunch of fat babies and name one of them after me.”

Cas furrows his brow like maybe he’s seeing the future. “But don’t plaster his name on his clothing. That’s just basic child safety.”

It hurts him to see his little brother cry, but Dean knows this isn’t the end for them. “Tell them how I was the coolest and better looking brother.”

Sam nods. “I will definitely not do that.”

They hug one last time and Dean murmurs in his ear. “I love you and I’m proud of you. I’ll see you on the other side.”

Sam gives him one last bone-crushing squeeze before releasing him. “Take good care of him, Cas.”

“I will,” Cas promises.

Dean gives Cas his best blue steel. “Oh, he will.”

With that, Sam leaves and Dean knows he could never bear to watch him walk away without Cas strong and steady at his side.

Cas must sense the hesitation. “Are you sure this is what you want?”

Dean answers him with a kiss.

S5 EP18: when cas locks dean in the panic room to stop him from saying yes to michael and “well cas not for nothing but the last person who looked at me like that I got laid” I hate this show. wait I think the blow me cas line is in this episode too what the fuck were they on here

S6 EP5: the scene where dean gets turned into a vampire. between the old dude who I think calls dean a pretty boy (??) and soulless sam....watching??? no ******* but there were just some absolutely foul energies in that scene and I still do not understand WHAT they were thinking

S6 EP20: cas doing a double smite on two demons by slamming them to the ground and then shoving another demon back in its vessel and then smiting him in the same motion. TOP. ENERGY.

S6 EP22: season 6 is possibly cas’ horniest season because he’s like, going through angel puberty after getting his first boner for dean, but the final cas eps are. whoof. cas eats a bunch of souls and proclaims himself to be a new god in order to handle said boner, and then the season ends with cas telling them to bow down and profess their love to him, their new lord, or he will destroy them. note: the way this is framed makes it look like cas is only staring at dean while he says this, even though sam and bobby are also there. the season ends with dramatic zooms on both cas and dean’s faces respectively. this made me actively regret ditching this show after s5 lol

S8 EP??: literally EVERY SINGLE PURGATORY FLASHBACK. cas dean and benny are all purgatory hot in the “pop 10 cranberry pills and risk the UTI” kind of way but also. dean being the hot girl bottom between two tops who hate each other. I really. whew. I need to go take a shower.

S8 EP17: if I get canceled for including the crypt scene on this list I blame you bud. but dean on his knees begging a brainwashed cas to stop killing him WAS sexy. how many times has dean been on his knees in this list wait there’s another one coming up next jsldjfsldkjf

S9 EP2: abaddon getting dean on his knees (YEAH) and pulling his hair and praising him for always coming when called HELLO???? the only thing that ruins this is dean says “I can’t tell if we’re gonna fight or make out” because this is the CW and they won’t let him say fuck

S9 EP6: ah. this entire episode is Emotionally Horny but the horny horny part is when they’re in the car and dean is telling cas to unbutton his shirt and. watches. I know this was on my destiel manifesto but I need it here too

S9 EP9: cas, covered in blood, slitting another angel’s throat and eating his grace after getting tortured. that shot alone made me understand why this website was so goddamn horny for misha collins for nearly a damn decade

S9 EP11: MARK OF CAIN BABEY. cain watching dean beat up a bunch of demons as an audition for taking on the mark, while crowley also is a fucking voyeur to the whole thing. cain is also a hot silver fox with daddy energies. I said what I said

S9 EP 16: dean getting the first blade. he’s chained to a pillar and being menaced by a foppish dandy who wants to add him to his “collection” (WOW). dean then kills him with the blade and whew. murder is sexy sometimes

S9 EP21: dean being pinned against a wall by abaddon’s power, then using the mark of cain to break her hold, calling the first blade to him psychically and then killing her. god the mark of cain is hot

S9 EP23: dean waking up with the demon eyes NUT

S10 EP2: demon dean beating up that dude with the boring backstory and kicking his ass. really was a go on baby I got your flower moment because I hated that dude and I love demon dean

S10 EP3: demon dean being chained up and taunting sam about how his brother is gone, then hunting sam through the bunker. demon dean in general was VERY fun for me, someone who loves trash

S10 EP9: dean going berserk and killing a bunch of pedophile rapists/child abusers. I’m sorry I know this show is trying to preach morality at me about monsters and unnecessary murder and humanity or whatever but we blew past that like 8 SEASONS AGO. also the mark of cain is sexy

S10 EP14: the rest of this list is really gonna be mark of cain stuff isn’t it look I’m here to have fun. cain and dean’s fight. cain continuously tossing his mane of hair back and taunting dean with the picture of what he’s going to become, who he’s going to kill. dean begging cain to tell him that he can stop, and then ultimately killing him. rip daddy.

S11 EP4: again I have not watched this however. every shot of this episode is PRESTIGE TELEVISION because driving a muscle car is sexy. and especially the shot of dean all beat to hell and begging his car to start and giving her a little kiss from his fingers to her dash. ugh. masculinity.

S12 EP10: the bearded salt-and-pepper daddy look returns, only it’s an angel this time and he’s wearing a vest and shirtsleeves and he swordfights with a hot redheaded lady in a suit and an eyepatch. this show is good sometimes!!! and oh fuck lol I just realized this is the same guy who played krissy’s hot hunter dad in s7 probably the first guy who’s hotter as an angel than a hunter. huh.

S12 EP 11: dean riding larry the mechanical bull to “broomstick cowboy.” I have no idea where this factors into the ep but I have seen. the youtube clip

S13 EP23: from what I can tell s13 is way more emotionally horny than boner horny, although dean burning cas’ body was sexy. but the horniest part was dean saying yes to michael and then michael taking over and saying “thanks for the suit.” we are going to ignore the silliest fight scene in existence as well as the final shot ending on a FREEZE FRAME like a goddamn tiktok

S14: not gonna pick a specific moment because I have not watched yet!!! but michael dean is hot. idk why michael is weirdly hot and I cannot stand any iteration of lucifer on this television programme. it should be the reverse but I’m forever an older sibling stan apparently. someone who is catholic could probably explain this better.

S15 EP13: genevieve padalecki and danneel ackles fight flirting as ruby and anael I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY HELD OUT ON THIS TILL THE LAST SEASON
