Read chapter 1 on AO3
The Duel of the Heirs, a competition held to decide who is going to be the next ruler of the kingdom, is near. Jack, a lonely magic-user, manages to find the long-Lost Princess Rapunzel, which means that the duel everyone has been expecting since her disappearance won't take place, and his troubles will finally end. However, he soon stumbles upon Merida and Hiccup, those who are supposed to fight in the duel, and has to keep his secret from them but also from Rapunzel herself, as they travel all across the kingdom towards its capital. Lies, forming bonds, family drama, (mis)adventure and mysteries will make their journey truly magical.
The first chapter of the fic I can't stop blabbering about is up!

I still find it difficult to believe how many lords and houses supported Rhaenyra during the Dance. Not in an anti Team Black kind of way but like even in the asoiaf so many fans don't like the thought of Sansa inheriting Winterfell because there is Bran and Rickon and Jon, the supposed male heirs. So, to think of the dance almost 250 years before game of thrones and so many lords supporting Rhaenyra while Aegon is the eldest son of the King seems kind of unrealistic to me. No offence but Rhaenyra was named heir before Aegon was born and Aegon is the son of the King, a son Viserys and everyone in the realm longed for, waited for years for a prince. The smallfolk definitely sees Aegon as the rightful King and Heir.
Also Viserys became King for the exact same reason that He was a man and Rhaenys a woman. The lords of the realm chose him as their King because he was a man and to believe the same lords and/or their heirs chose Viserys' daughter and not his son as their King/Queen is not so easy to digest for me at least. Did the realm change their views on patriarchy so quickly in the span of a few years?????

Of course I cry over fictional characters. They are the only people I let close enough to hurt me.

Heirs with Christ
You haven’t received the spirit of slaves that leads you into fear again. Instead, you have received the spirit of God’s adopted children by which we call out, “Abba! Sometimes I wonder what Dorne would have become if Rhaenys Targaryen was able to make princes meria Martell kneel to her. Would have aegon the conqueror made it like the rest on Westeros and change the dornish laws and traditions.
Because the majority of Westeros preferred male heirs over female heirs. Up until dance if the dragons but even after it was still preferred males.
Would have the dornish law of allowing women becoming successors over their younger brothers be abolished?
Because that was one of the major differences between dorne and the other six kingdoms. Women were more powerful in dorne and would have they have lost that by kneeling to the Targaryens?

When you responded to one of my tags I believe you wished for a link to any fic written that was inspired by your ideas from the Galvadad au! Mine's got an entirely different tone and central idea but I figured I'd send a link anyway. https://archiveofourown.org/works/44211040
Oh what? Oh hells yeah! I love this. I love what you did with the Heir premise and how you used it for Decepticon hierarchy.
Love how it is as an exploration of Decepticon politics. How Megs uses it to keep Starscream in line, getting to see Galvatron as part of the main crew and him interacting with the others. Him being an absolute powerhouse, and ngl it's fun to see then getting on as brothers after they ended up being fairly antagonistic in my au.
So delighted this managed to inspire you and thank you for writing! Everyone gives it a go.

The way out—new life in Christ
Tumblr media
1-2 No condemnation now hangs over the head of those who are “in” Jesus Christ. For the new spiritual principle of life “in” Christ lifts me out of the old vicious circle of sin and death.
3-4 The Law never succeeded in producing righteousness—the failure was always the weakness of human nature. But God has met this by sending his own Son Jesus Christ to live in that human nature which causes the trouble. And, while Christ was actually taking upon himself the sins of men, God condemned that sinful nature. So that we are able to meet the Law’s requirements, so long as we are living no longer by the dictates of our sinful nature, but in obedience to the promptings of the Spirit.
5-8 The carnal attitude sees no further than natural things. But the spiritual attitude reaches out after the things of the spirit. The former attitude means, bluntly, death: the latter means life and inward peace. And this is only to be expected, for the carnal attitude is inevitably opposed to the purpose of God, and neither can nor will follow his laws for living. Men who hold this attitude cannot possibly please God.
What the presence of Christ within means
9-11 But you are not carnal but spiritual if the Spirit of God finds a home within you. You cannot, indeed, be a Christian at all unless you have something of his Spirit in you. Now if Christ does live within you his presence means that your sinful nature is dead, but your spirit becomes alive because of the righteousness he brings with him. I said that our nature is “dead” in the presence of Christ, and so it is, because of its sin. Nevertheless once the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives within you he will, by that same Spirit, bring to your whole being new strength and vitality.
12-13 So then, my brothers, you can see that we have no particular reason to feel grateful to our sensual nature, or to live life on the level of the instincts. Indeed that way of living leads to certain spiritual death. But if on the other hand you cut the nerve of your instinctive actions by obeying the Spirit, you are on the way to real living.
Christ is within—follow the lead of his Spirit
14-17 All who follow the leading of God’s Spirit are God’s own sons. Nor are you meant to relapse into the old slavish attitude of fear—you have been adopted into the very family circle of God and you can say with a full heart, “Father, my Father”. The Spirit himself endorses our inward conviction that we really are the children of God. Think what that means. If we are his children we share his treasures, and all that Christ claims as his will belong to all of us as well! Yes, if we share in his suffering we shall certainly share in his glory. — Romans 8:1-17 | J.B. I gotta hand it to The Heirs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've never watched a show where I went from instantly hating so many characters in the first episode to fully loving them in the last. Choi Young-do, Han Ki-ae, and Lee Bo-na were flawed, obviously, but watching them was more enjoyable than the romance bits sometimes.

Yay! I just got my tenth lover. I've now got Ian, Darren, Jocelyn, Kristen, Anne, Cordelia, Bonnie, Cyril, Juliet, and my newest, Caroline. 😊 I'm looking forward to seeing who I get next. Fingers crossed for Oliver or Lady Godiva. 🤭 And I've now got 32 heirs, 23 of which are titled. 8 of the heirs come from Ian. Poor thing must be exhausted. 😣Just 405 more gold and I can open a tenth heir spot.

And to think I tried my best to stay true to my first partner. Sorry Ian, I'll be sure to get you to the singular soulmate spot. It wasn't on purpose, the game just gives you more as you progress.
I've just been so hooked on this game lately.
