Watch NRL Live Penrith Panthers vs Brisbane Broncos On 03 March 2023
Penrith Panthers, the champions of the 2022 National Rugby Championship, will begin their 2023 season against the Brisbane Broncos at BlueBet Stadium. In the World Club Challenge Cup, the Penrith Panthers were defeated by the St. Helens team, while the Brisbane Broncos triumphed over the NQ Cowboys team.Watch Live
Tumblr media
Penrith Panthers - favorite to win The incredible work that the Penrith Panthers put in over the previous season resulted in them finishing first on the table in the regular season with 42 points from a possible 24. The home team in the 2022 season scored 636 points, the most points of any club in the league, and allowed 330 points, the fewest points allowed in that season. The Penrith Panthers, on the other hand, went further in the playoffs and won the final game. Before this, they had prevailed against the Parramatta Eels in the 1/8 round, the Canberra Raiders in the quarterfinal stages, and the North Queensland Cowboys in the semis. Prior to the start of this season, the Penrith Panthers had a winning record of four out of their previous five matches.
Brisbane Broncos - will hope for an good start The Brisbane Broncos beat the North Queensland Cowboys in their last preseason game, so they are coming into this game with a bit of momentum. On the other hand, this will be a different matchup for them, with more stringent requirements and demands. The Brisbane Broncos had 28 points at the end of the regular season last year, which put them ninth in the National Rugby League standings. However, they did not make the playoffs. The away team's record in their last five games was one win, one tie, and three losses. This means that they will start the new season with the same record.
Expert Betting Tips After a quick examination, it appears that the team playing at home has the advantage and is best positioned to come out on top. As a result, we are pulling for them to launch the defense of their championship with a performance that is completely dominant. As a result, I am hoping that they will prevail in both halves of the match. In addition, taking into account the players they have available and how well they played during the preseason, I feel that they will be able to cover the spread.
THE TEAM NEWS
PENRITH PANTHERS
Penrith Panthers made it back-to-back Premierships as they defended their crown with a comfortable win over Parramatta Eels in last season's Grand Final with Ivan Cleary’s men harbouring hopes of a three-peat. The Panthers fell short in the World Club Challenge against St. Helens but will be in much better shape for this, although they will have to deal with the loss of Taylan May for the entire campaign after he suffered an ACL injury against the English outfit. Starting 13: Edwards, Turuva, Tago, Crichton, To’o, Luai, Cleary, Leota, Kenny, Fisher-Harris, Garner, Martin, Yeo – Interchanges: Luke, Sorensen, Leniu, Salmon – Reserves: Hosking, Eisenhuth, Peachey, Cogger, Smith
Unavailable: Taylan May (Injured)
BRISBANE BRONCOS
Brisbane Broncos somehow missed out on a spot in the finals in 2022 as they lost five of their final six games to finish the regular season in what was a hugely disappointing end to what had been a promising campaign. The Broncos will view a top eight spot as the bare minimum this season but they have been forced into a re-jig for this opening contest with new signing Reece Walsh out with a facial fracture so Selwyn Cobbo will slot in at fullback. Starting 13: Cobbo, Oates, Staggs, Farnworth, Arthars, Mam, Reynolds, Jensen, Walters, Haas, Capewell, Riki, Carrigan – Interchanges: Paix, Palasia, Flagler, Taupau – Reserves: Mariner, Piakura, Willison, Madden, Hoeter
Unavailable: Kobe Hetherington (Injured), Reece Walsh (Injured)

Protestant missionary in Japan, shared with his predecessors an interest in the development and decline of the first Japanese mission during the preceding three and a half centuries. His history of Christianity in Japan6 is worth citing because its discussion of missionary failure considered also the changing political and economic environment of European- Japanese diplomatic relations. Like his ecclesiastical contemporaries, however, Cary was unable to revise the written observations of early modern Roman Catholic correspondents. In the same decade as the monographs of Haas and Cary, a more comprehensive history appeared in print. A History of Japan during the Early Foreign Intercourse is the second volume of James Murdoch’s three-volume history.7 In an attempt to revise the ecclesiastical approach that had been dominant since Charlevoix, Murdoch consulted not only European documents but also Japanese sources. For this demanding endeavour, he sought help from his Japanese colleague Isoo Yamagata. Murdoch’s secular background also escaped glorification of the Christian converts. To a considerable extent, he examined non-religious incidents in politics and international relations when discussing the mission. Consequently his monograph placed greater emphasis on political relations between missionaries and the Japanese authorities.
Specialists in Ecclesiastical Archives in the Twentieth Century It was only after the 1920s that German historians began to investigate the Japanese mission. These historians, who never visited Japan, let alone lived there, formed part of a third group. They uncovered new archival missionary sources. Among this group is the Franciscan Father Dorotheus Schilling (1886–ca.1960s) and two Jesuits, Georg Schurhammer (1882–1971) and Josef Franz Schütte. While sharing Christentum (Leipzig: J. C. Hinrichs, 1922), Buddha in der abendländlichen Legende (Leipzig: J. C. Hinrichs, 1923). His interest in Japan grew to include the Ainu in his Die Ainu und ihre Religion (Leipzig: A. Deichert, 1925). 6 Otis Cary, A History of Christianity in Japan: Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, and Protestant Missions (2 vols., New York: Fleming H. Revell, 1909; reprint in 1976 as one volume by Tuttle in Ruthland, Vermont, & Tokyo, Japan). 7 James Murdoch and Isoh (sic) Yamagata, A History of Japan during the Century of Early Foreign Intercourse (1542–1651) (Kobe: Kobe Chronicle, 1903). He first published this work as an independent monograph. He later expanded his work into three volumes. He published a book on the previous period of Japan as the first volume of A History of Japan in 1910. Although he passed away before seeing a printed copy of the third volume which dealt with the years 16

Since we last spoke, the following things have happened:
I had surgery and I’ve been recovering. That’s why I’ve been gone.
The INTJ was accepted to NYU Law and Columbia Law ending a very successful admissions cycle. She ultimately decided to stay here in California and attend her top choice law program that best fits her post-graduation goals of entering tech. I’m so proud of her hard work and being one step closer to achieving one of her major life goals.
Tumblr media
In parallel, I was accepted to Columbia Business School, Yale School of Management, and UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. I applied before I switched jobs because I wanted to do an executive or part-time program to round out my professional toolkit but I’ve decided to put this plan on pause because my career is too intense at the moment. That’s a bit of a disappointment, but on the bright side, I’m on the verge of becoming a Senior Manager/Associate Director in Big Tech, I save $250,000 in tuition, and I can revisit this plan in a year or two.
Tumblr media
We’re all vaccinated.
It’s my mom’s birthday next week, my brother and I will be traveling to Nevada to personally deliver a huge surprise birthday gift to her-- we bought her a brand new SUV.
Tumblr media
Kobe is still growing fast (now 20 weeks old), still adorable, and still exhausting because he’s a puppy. He’s also somewhat clingy and demands that I hold his paw whenever we watch TV together:
Tumblr media
I’ll work through some asks in my inbox and my messages later this week. Hope you’re all doing well.

Teams: Manly's axing after show-stopping game
Tumblr media
The NRL's form player of the year, Tom Trbojevic, is set to make his return for the Sea Eagles after missing round 23 with a facial injury.Last week, Trbojevic was ruled out as a precaution amid conflicting reports the superstar fullback had damaged a pre-existing facial fracture.
Tumblr media
Tom Trbojevic (Getty)While serious injury concerns were put to bed, the Sea Eagles took no chance, resting their talisman who is set to make an emphatic return against the Bulldogs this week.Meanwhile, star teammate Moses Suli has been dropped from Des Hasler's squad despite putting up a stellar man of the match performance last week. Suli has been dropped to reserves, replaced by Brad Parker who slots straight into the centres.

(Getty)Elsewhere, it's tough luck for the Tigers who have the unfortunate task of taking on the Panthers without standout star Adam Doueihi who has been sidelined with a knee injury. To make matters harder for Michael Maguire's men, star winger Brian To'o has made an early return from injury and will line up on Sunday evening.Meanwhile, the Raiders have dumped halfback Sam Williams after back-to-back critical losses to the Storm and Manly.

Eri-!
Evennnig
Its Ishida Ayumi
Did you see my Eri!?
Eri--
Seriously cute......
You grew up so big......
At first they grew slowly,
I was a bit worried about it but
As they grew they changed a little,
an from there it was like whooaaa!
a child full of the potential for growth...
They were really worth growing
(talking about king trumpet (eringi) mushrooms)
Okamura Homare-chan,
gave me the king trumpet mushroom farm kit for my birthday,
January 22nd is Eri's birthday
Sometimes on my instastory,
I'd show their growth process but,
(I summarized it in my highlights so I'd be glad if you looked)
From there it was 22 days!
the 22 year old (1 day is 1 year of growth) was harvested safely
I really wanted to wait till we would be the same age but,
With the method of raising them in the bathroom,
they grew really fast
I left them unattended today or tomorrow,
it seems like the king trumpet mushrooms would have gotten too big so,
Right away they're 22 years old
I tasted these king trumpet mushrooms,
for the first time in my memory.....
They were super duper delicious its the best......
I haven't picked the smaller ones yet,
I'm look forward to harvest them!
In the past, although I was bad with mushrooms~
Delicious food,
the feeling of eating something delicious,
it makes me very happy
Eri-! Thank you-! lol

(Fukumura-san was fighting sleepiness
its like that when being late to update my blog and such... lol)

Odeko
We had our concert in Fukuoka
Its Ikuta Erina-san's hometown,
but the performances were different than Ikuta-san's team,
With a big dressing room, we were all together so,
I heard various conversations
"Its Eri's hometown"
with that power word,
Everyone in Ikuta-san's team,
for one song came out in twin tails
Kaedy looked very reluctant←
But, pushed by 'its Eri's hometown',
she did the twin tails
Ikuta-san also looked like she was really having fun
That figure,
was laughing together in the dressing room~
It was funny, really~
Yokoyama and Kitagawa were quick to react
to Kaedy's twin tails lol
Also!! yesterdays blog on the owner of the hat,
It was Asakura Kiki-chan after all <3
Ah! This is mine! while saying that,
I was wearing it today!
Kiki-chan I'm sorry~
It was a big mistake......
Thank you very much towards your support for the Fukuoka performance!
Tomorrow is a concert in Kobe!
Tonight
11:00PM~
Youngtown Saturday
12:00AM~

Also, please get a good nights rest
Everyone do your best!
Thanks for your hard work!
While thinking, haa...

Cal overcomes 11-point deficit, stuns Stanford
Late Surge Seals The Win
BERKELEY - Cal had trailed Stanford by 11 midway through the second half, but the game at Haas Pavilion was tied 50-50 when the Bears’ Joel Brown stole the ball from Daejon Davis with 26 seconds left.
The Bears then called timeout with 17 ticks left to set up what they hoped would be a winning play.
“Everybody thought Matt Bradley was going to be the guy,” Cal head coach Mark Fox said, referring to his team’s leading scorer who entered the day averaging 17.4 points per game.
Instead, Fox let point guard Paris Austin try to make a play. Austin drove the right side of the lane, was tripped by Davis and drained both foul shots with 3.2 seconds remaining to give the Bears a 52-50 upset.
“Thanks to coach for trusting me,” Austin said, “but I just wanted to make a play — whether it was for myself or my teammates — and it worked.”
Austin, a senior from Bishop O’Dowd-Oakland who began his college career at Boise State, had game highs of 15 points and four assists.
“I’m really happy for Paris. He’s a great kid who’s been through a lot,” Fox said. “He’s a little stubborn at times, but that stubbornness can be an advantage in the middle of a game. He just wasn’t going to get beat today, and I was really happy for him to play as well as he did.”
Stanford (15-4, 4-2 Pac-12) was favored to win by 5. It was the second straight blown game for the Cardinal: on January 18, they squandered a 21-point second-half lead at USC and fell 82-78 in overtime.  This despite coming in ranked and fresh off a victory over UCLA - their first at Pauley Pavilion in 15 years.  Cal is now only one  game behind them in the standings.
The Golden Bears - now 3-3 in conference - thought an engaged, enthusiastic crowd announced at 9,168 was key to their victory. It was by far their largest home attendance of the season (previous: 5,734 against St. Mary’s on Dec. 14).
“Having such huge support behind you is great for anybody,” said Cal guard Kareem South, who finished with 13 points. “The energy was just super contagious. We felt that. We felt that throughout the whole game.”
Before the game, Cal held a moment of silence because of the deaths of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, in a helicopter crash.
Fox talked to their players about Bryant’s death before they took the floor.
“I knew that Kobe was maybe the reason they fell in love with basketball,” Fox said.
Fox recalled that a few years ago, he had to decide whether or not to coach a game soon after his father died.
“I chose to coach because that’s what my dad would have expected me to do,” Fox said. “So, I just sat (the players) down and I talked about how I know they must be hurting, but Kobe was a great competitor, and he would expect you to compete, and you should honor him with your effort — and I think they did just that.”
Briefly: The Golden Bears continue to lead the overall series vs Stanford, with 151 wins to 126 … Haas had a football feel in two first-half timeouts. In the first, Cal acknowledged Raiders head coach Jon Gruden at the game. In the second, members of the Cal football team came on the floor with the Axe, emblematic of the Bears’ 24-20 win at Stanford in the Big Game in November.

Now, here’s the history of Kazuchika Okada tying the record Hiroshi Tanahashi set on January 4, 2012 though his took longer due to the schedule being different than the one from 2011.

Kazuchika Okada defeats Tetsuya Naito at Dominion 6.19 in Osaka-Jo Hall to become the 65th IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

Third Title Defense (February 5, 2017) defeats the returning Minoru Suzuki at The New Beginning in Sapporo
Fourth Title Defense (April 9, 2017) defeats New Japan Cup 2017 winner Katsuyori Shibata in what could still be Shibata’s last match for New Japan at Sakura Genesis 2017

Seventh Title Defense (July 1, 2017) defeats “The American Nightmare” Cody at New Japan’s first trip to the entitled G1 Special in the US

Eleventh Title Defense (April 1, 2018) defeats New Japan Cup 2018 winner Zack Sabre Jr at Sakaura Genesis 2018.
Each video then leads to the ending of Sakura Genesis 2018 where in Tanahashi’s video journey, Tanahashi claims that he’s the only one that Okada will never surpass.  At the end of Okada’s video journey, however, Okada claims that Hiroshi Tanahashi is no longer the Tanahashi we once know and love and from now on, will refer to him as only a has-been.
Enjoy the journey of their title defenses as they’ll be facing each other 1-on-1 for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship as part of Wrestling Dontaku 2018.  Down below is the match card for that second day, enjoy it only on NJPW World with English commentary provided by Kevin Kelly and Don Callis.

Tumblr media
2017 is one of many first for the Philippines National Rugby League (PNRL) and it all begins in the opening months of January and February.
The Inaugural local Rugby League competition in the Philippines, the Erick Paul Estepa Elefante Cup is in its final rounds in January with the Albay Vulcans, Central Luzon Crusaders and Manila Storm in contention to reach the local tournaments first Grand Final!
On January 28 after missing the 2016 tournament the PNRL return to the Cabramatta International 9s with a host of new and veteran players, with TWO International teams, coached by Mark de Ubago, with over half a dozen coming from New Zealand to represent their country of birth or heritage:

The PNRL are inviting the Filipino-Australian community to come and support your International Rugby League players on the 28th of January at the Cabramatta Rugby League Club, 24 Sussex St, Cabramatta with games starting at 9:30am
The week after the Cabramatta International 9s on the 4th of February, the PNRL will be making history by playing its first TEST match against the Malta Rugby League. All previous games, played by the PNRL Tamaraws, were International matches. The Test against Malta will be a first for the PNRL.
The 4th of February will also be historical because it will be the first time that all 4 of the PNRL’s representative teams will appear together. With our U17 Juniors the future of the Philippines Rugby League with the locally based players, our International/Test Reserves in the Admiral team also making an appearance.
And proudly representing Filipina Womanhood the PERLAS the PNRL International Women’s team. Which is Coached/Managed/Captained by Tammy Fletcher who is not just making history by leading the Philippines first national Women’s team, she also plays for the St George Dragons Women’s team. So is multitasking to break all stereotypes and boundaries regarding Filipinas.
Tammy said that:
“With the rise in numbers of women playing Rugby League and identifying those of Filipino heritage, the PNRL has presented Pinays an opportunity to represent their country on the field, in a history making appearance, in a curtain raiser match ahead of the Philippine Tamaraws test match on 4th February 2017.
The newly formed Philippine Perlas (Pearls) will create history in their debut appearance in a 9's match against Latin Heat's Women's side.
'I've always dreamed of being able to represent my heritage and country in the game I am so passionate about and in less than a months’ time, my dreams will come true when I am able to run out onto the field in my nations colours in the first ever formed Philippines National Women's Rugby League team.'
'Hopefully with the exposure of our women's debut appearance, we can create a strong pathway for more Pinay rugby league players to represent their country and grow into a equally competitive side, competing alongside our fellow men's sides.'
'Personally, I cannot be more humbled with being given this opportunity. I hope to encourage more Filipina women to play rugby league. We have amazing support from the PNRL board backing our Women's team every step of the way and we aim to do them proud as well as our fellow country men and women.”
Tammy would welcome more support from the Pinay-Australian community especially Pinay-heritage Rugby League, Union, OZ tag and Touch players, as she builds the PERLAS side, to represent the Philippines in the Greatest game of all. Tammy can be contacted on the PNRL Facebook page!
