the dark artifices has so many moments that just floor me. when diana opens up to gwyn and he tells her she’s the bravest woman he’s ever met and gently asks, Can I hold you? when kieran feels betrayed and mark kneels in front of him to ask for forgiveness and tells him I love you, I wish you could believe me. when julian says to emma “I’ll love you if I never touch you” and emma thinks, I love you more than starlight. kieran telling mark “you are all that exists on the earth and under the sky that I do love.” julian telling dru that “you’re the heart of this family”. ty and kit being each other’s reasons to stay. livvy’s protectiveness over ty; livvy telling julian she wants to be like him. kierarktina dancing together and all being stunned after. there is just such fierce and fragile love in this series in so many different forms, i’m so soft for all of them

𓃶 What Is The Wild Hunt?
The Wild Hunt is a common belief among many Northern European cultures. In short, the hunt is a cavalcade of ghosts, spirits, fairies, elves, and other spiritual beings that is said to sweep across our world every year. Depending on where your beliefs come from, when it happens will differ.
It is commonly believed that the leader of The Wild Hunt is a deity or figure of importance of some kind, such as Odin/Woden in Norse and Saxon traditions, or King Arthur in British lore. Other leaders of the hunt include but are not limited to:
𖤓 Arawn or Gwyn ap Nudd, commonly seen as the Welsh lords of Annwn
𖤓 Danish king Valdemar Atterdag
𖤓 The Norse dragon slayer Sigurd
𖤓 Biblical figures like Cain, Gabriel, Herod and the devil
𖤓 Gothic king Theodoric the Great
☾༺♰༻☽
𓃶 What Did People Do For The Wild Hunt?
The Wild Hunt was generally seen as a bad omen; one for destruction, famine, war, plague, or the death of the one who saw it. In many traditions, witnessing the hunt would result in the viewer being abducted to Otherworld or Underworld. Other times, those who were not protected would have their souls pulled from their bodies while they sleep, and they would join the menagerie of the dead.
To avoid this fate, people in Wales, for example, began the tradition of carving pumpkins as a way to avoid being taken by the fae. In Scandinavia, offerings like bread were put outside the home as an offering to the spirits joining Odin for the hunt.
☾༺♰༻☽
𓃶 When is The Wild Hunt?
Depending on where your beliefs stem from, there are various answers to this question.
In Britain, The Wild Hunt is associated with the autumn season, specifically around and on Samhain/The Autumn Equinox.
Scandinavian tradition tells us that they prepared for the hunt around December, specifically Yule/The Winter Equinox.
☾༺♰༻☽
𓃶 What Entities Are A Part of the Wild Hunt?
Many entities are associated with the Wild Hunt in different areas. These entities include but are not limited to:
𖤓 The Fae (The Sidhe, The Tlywyth Teg, etc)
𖤓 Spirits of the Dead
𖤓 Demons
𖤓 Valkyries
𖤓 The Spirits of Huntsmen or Nobles
𖤓 Horses (sometimes with an abnormal amount of legs)
𖤓 Wolves and dogs (sometimes spiritual in nature, i.e. the Cwn Annwn)

For Dogust. The Cŵn Annwn, the red-eared white hounds of the Wild Hunt in Welsh mythology. Annwn, the Welsh Otherworld, is said to be either ruled by King Arawn (as cited in the Mabinogion, the earliest Welsh prose stories) or Gwyn ap Nudd (king of the Fair Folk in later medieval lore). Some say the hunt rides through the sky, chasing wandering spirits, others that their hunting grounds include the mountain of Cadair Idris, where hearing the baying of the hounds is a foretelling of death. "Cŵn" is plural for "hounds", the singular form is "Ci".
I'm sure they're good doggies who like ear skritches just like any other.

Thule Kit thoughts
He was 10 when Sebastian won and he knew things were off by the way the Shadow Market was emptier, fae being carted off back to Faerie, Warlocks becoming more and more sick. His dad was more openly scared while also trying to get on Sebastian's good side. Sebastian knew he was a conman and didn't listen, he had more important things to worry about.
Then the warlocks turn to demons, all warlock magic stops and demons, now more prevalent than ever, eat Johnny alive.
Kit's so terrified that his powers explode earlier than usual. He ends up in faerie, scared and alone, when they shut it off. As the Unseelie King goes to kill the Seelie Queen, the Rider's of Mannan see Kit and go after him. He's only saved when the Wild Hunt, with Kieran and Mark, protect him.
They take him in, train him as war kicks off in Faerie. Kit gets closer to Kieran and Mark, he gets hardened by war. The Unseelie King kills the Seelie Queen, Kit learns of his heritage and thinks he should have a say.
Gwyn tells Kit that they don't pick sides in the courts. He tells him that there won't be any sides if he's successful. He gets kicked out but Kieran and Mark follow him.
He works his way through the Unseelie Court. Kieran uses his status where he can and they kill where they can't. Mark tells Kit of his family, Kit's jealous because his only reference is them and the wild hunt. He promises him that when he takes over, he'll open the gates to faerie and reunite him with his family.
After years of fighting, of gathering rogue fae who were never in courts, those who believe in the first heir, Seelie who want Arawn out, and those just interested in what will happen. When they get to the Unseelie King, they have an Army. The war is long and brutal bit eventually Kit wins
He's a just ruler at first, learning more and more about his powers as he harnesses those that he has naturally and ones from combining both crowns. But this is thule, and years of pain, blood and anguish, make Faerie fall under shadow just like in the myth.
They work on breaking through the gates. Kit's ready to face Sebastian, ready to take the shadow realm too, he is the lost herondale after all. When a portal opens up, he wonders what it is when he sees the Seelie Queen. Huh, he thought she was dead?

Arthur, the Wizard-king
Since King Arthur is a bard (albeit a frivolous one) in Welsh Myth, that technically means Arthur is a magician in some capacity.
Bards/Poets in Celtic Culture and Myth are combo of newscaster, historian, genealogist, prophet and entertainer. They are essentially lore keepers - Walking libraries for a mostly illiterate society. Which is why they are placed in an esteemed social status. They not only entertain but can prophesize the future, rouse one's companions to action and curse people with satires, on top of preserving knowledge through poetic forms.
Taliesin and Myrddin Wyllt are examples of from welsh lore. In Irish myth, there's Laidcenn, Niall (of the nine hostages)'s poet, and I remember some poet-warrior threatened to lampoon Cu Chulainn.
I think evidence that points to Arthur's magic is in the story Gwyn, Gwythyr and Creiddylad:
If you interpret Gwyn and Gwythyr as mortal men, Arthur magically oath-bound two men to fight each other until judgement day, granting them immortality in the process.
If you interpret Gwyn and Gwythyr are divine beings, then Arthur cursed two gods to fight each other annually and organized the seasons.
No matter how you cut it, Arthur is pretty magically strong. Other magical facts about Arthur include:
Welsh Triads saying Arthur had the ability to render the land infertile for seven years wherever he walks.
Arthur having an invisibility cloak, like Harry Potter. It was called "Gwenn", apparently.
Oral Folklore that says that Arthur can shapeshift into a raven or chough. Which is why it's bad luck to kill one.
Uther, Arthur's dad, being the creator of one of the "Three great enchantments of Britain", which was then taught to Menw ap Teirgwaedd, an enchanter knight of Arthur's. In his death-song, Uther even boasts about being a "great enchanter". (unless I'm mistaken)

Hello lovelies.
I’m currently going through a near complete rebuild of my practice right now. Currently, i’m doing this for the benefit of my practice and mental health, and i’m proud of the steps i’m taking! however, i wanted to share this with you all.
I’ve never been particularly good at keeping my altars clean. Whether it was one for my ancestors, my deities, or myself. This made me feel guilty, and that guilt made me sink deeper into poor mental health. Eventually, there will be times where I not only forget to take care of the altars, but I also forget to give offerings, clean the space I live in, etc.
This piles for me. But something I was told, that I remember, and that I want to share with you is that it’s ok to fall in and out of your practice.
The Gods are patient. You don’t need to give daily or weekly offerings if that’s unmanageable for you. You don’t need to devote every waking moment to your deities.
They want you to take care of yourself first and foremost. Then you can take care of acts for them.
So, I cleaned my altar for the first time in months and I reorganized it. And i hope this blog inspires you to do the same, or at least reminds you that it’s ok to not be ok sometimes ❤️ remember that your practice is YOURS. no one else’s. personalize it, mold it, make it accessible and enjoyable for YOU.
stay safe!
