today i spent the day creating a great one form for my hunter lenore.... here's the process and result:

my first decision is that i wanted her to have a centauresque form, inspired by the mussushu babylonian dragon and egyptian sphynxes, since she has a strong sun thematic running. i also wanted her fighting to look as gracious and swift as a GOW valkyrie, which is something that i am not sure i nailed much JFJFISAJFJ but she still has her scythe (burial blade remnant)!! the last sketch with the three tails is the most similar to the final version (although i've decided she can divide her big tail into three smaller ones to be easier for me lmfao)

and the result:

i was also inspired by mother kos and her uncanny resemblance to our planet's creatures, contrary to cosmos great ones who are much more alienesque and slug like. since lenore is an earthly being i wanted her form to be an amalgamation of desert animals and having feathers as a defining feature instead of scales (like mother kos) or tentacles (like cosmos great ones)

her appearence was also inspired by accurate biblical angels but perhaps its very obvious

edit: i still wanna refine it and make some changes to make her look more bloodbornish but i am already pleased that i have a base of sorts now

dp idea (im not sure if this idea existed before)

What if the position of the ghost king never existed.

By ancients beings, who existed before Pariah Darka he wasn't a tiranic ghost king, they know him as titles like "The usurper", "The creator of chaos", "The false heart", and others like these

The infinity realms are a living being but by their inmensity they can't control themselves and mantain the balance between the life and dead. So they choose a champion, who held their power, a god. This champion have to show their power defeating the one in the position and having a heart that understand the importance of the duty.

Pariah Dark deafeated the old heir of the position but he wanted more. The zone rejected Pariah but he didn't wanted to let the power, he force the zone and he become more and more inestable with the time. He declared himself as the ruler of the infinity realms, the king, and the relics that came with the position changed their forms and became in the crown of fire and the ring of rage.

The crown of fire was the conection with the life and the ring of rage was the conection with the death, together help the champion, the heart of the zone, to keep the balance. Their original names were The key of the End and The Key of the Beggining. These change their forms according each champion and the reason why it was said that they give 'infinity power' was because the infinity extension of the zone trought the multiverse. You can born in any universe and how the life and the death works could change, but the zone will exist, even if their forms change or if become in some sort of heaven or hell, the heart will be the same and their power will remain forever and ever.

But by Pariah, the zone was inestable. The balance it was breaking and the the zone corrupting. New beings were being create, these were corrupt, inestables, in constant change or in agony. The zone was desesperate to get rid of Pariah and with the little concious they could keep, called strong ancients beings of different places of the multiverse and give they some of their power to deafeat Pariah Dark.

These were named The Ancients, and after sucessful sealing "The false heart" disapeared back to their homes. The chaos created by Pariah was still there and a group obsessed with the order tried to fix this, they called themselves "The observants". They tied one of the ancients to their plans, clockwork, but they never knew that who were moving the trings in their backs was the same they thought their slave.

Clockwork knew about a possibility, about someone who could be the perfect heir for the position of the heart of the zone. He planned and wait for centuries, then the time come.

When Danny defeat Pariah Dark he felt a change, like have someone observing him. It was the zone, insecure after what happened with Pariah, who would fall in love easily by their new champion.

They learn quick that Phantom was perfect for the position, he was the middle, both and neither, life and death, end and rebirth, like they.

The zone welxome Danny and he felt like he gain a new home, a new family. He isn't a king or a ruler, he have power but it wasn't his but at the same it was his, he was the heart, the core of something bigger than him but love him like he was much more.

Notes: this idea can connect Danny with various universes, corrupt places or people could have born from the chaos created by Pariah and he could be traveling through the multiverse to heal and repair this. Danny can't explain how is his position, its like feel the bigest happines and the deepest sadnnes, and anger and death and life and more.

I've got headcanons for The Saint, one of your Great One characters, and for Father Crow.

If The Saint's blood really is capable of curing the plague, the Healing Church would never reveal such knowledge because they want to keep their monopoly on power secure.

Korbin faces some prejudice for his Pthumerian heritage. Not out of fear, but envy, because he has a unique resistance to disease.

For the first one, that is a definite 10 out 10! Once again, hitting the nail on the head right there on that guessing, haha!

While it isn't confirmed if the Saint herself can truly heal the scourge/plague with her blood, the Healing Church themselves will NOT allow it be known if true. When rumors spread of her blood's healing properties, the Church was first to dismiss it as that. Just rumors as it means loss of power and control in whatever it is they are doing. They'd be willing to lock her up in old ruins so she can never be seen or found, letting hundreds fall ill, including their own, to the plague and still not bother to find the truth.

Yet, even if rumors are just rumors, doesn't mean some will try to seek her out and test the waters.

And for the second headcanon, I give this one a 7 out of 10 as it is mostly true for Korbin! However, he also does earn a lot of racial ire from humans because of his mixing as well; which usually makes him an outcast in their eyes.

Superstition about Pthumerians is pretty strong where he was from and never seen in a good light. They're usually seen as harbingers of death and those who steal blood much like a vampire would while also somehow not getting sick from said blood they take. And while the envy of being able to stave off the plague longer then regular people is a big factor to their constant ire and mistreatment, its also from these superstitions that mark him for a lifetime of distance and social isolation.

Constant rumors and gossip alike have usually plagued him throughout his life because of this. Therefore, he keeps to himself almost always even if he does the job they all need to survive.

The Great Ones are unkillable, they are immortal. We can kill their physical bodies, but they can't actually die. Said physical bodies are nothing but avatars they use to interact with humans. What do you think?

I agree with you. Oedon is proof that the Great Ones don’t need a physical form to exist. If he can live that way, why shouldn’t this also apply to other Great Ones?

Also, you can still use the Augur of Ebrietas after killing her. Since they partially summon her, there must still be a connection. Otherwise, it should stop working once she is dead.

And Mergo was stillborn, but you still hear a baby crying in the Nightmare of Mensis. It looks like even though s/he was never truly alive, Mergo still existed in some form.

I'm having a difficult time drawing right now thanks to the messed up finger, so have some art from the limited archive of works I have from the past couple years.

This is the Queen of Yharnam, post-Bloodborne in timeline. I initially created her as a quest giver for a Bloodborne D&D I ran. The story behind her is a complicated one, but I fucking love this piece I did and I'm happy that this was something I really sought to do more with in the case of lighting and color.
