Buck rounded the table slowly, coming to stand on Eddie’s side. He looked down at him, his eyes turning a delicious shade of black. “Why would you,” he mumbled, snatching the dagger from Eddie’s hands and putting it behind his right ear. “When I can buy you such pretty things.” Eddie clenched his jaw, inhaling softly. The dagger ran down across his skin, cutting into it. A fine line of blood started going down his jaw, tracing it. Buck had applied more force than he’d realize. He shivered, glancing to his side, searching for Buck’s gaze. The man seemed distracted, so Eddie twisted in his seat swiftly, taking the dagger back and pushing Buck against the table – which took a lot more strength than he initially thought. “You don’t have a quarter of the talent I have,” he breathed, twirling the blade in his fingers before putting it to his neck.

Whenever people ask me "What is evil then?" I always give a very objective answer:

Evil is like thermodynamics.

Coldness doesnt exist in itself, is just the absence of heat

Or like optical theory

Darkness doesnt exist in itself, is just absence of light

Evil is a rebellion against the good, good exist outside of evil but evil NEEDS the reference of what's good and sacred and true and holy and right to exist and act, like a parasite

There is no virus without a carrier

Therefore, evil is the absence of God. Evil wasn't meant to be here, like a disease is not meant to be in your organism forever.

Man I just.... I really really do not like NHS. I remember when I was trying to evaluate FJ's characterization of him, flipping through his scenes. I don't think we ever see him express any moral sentiments. One of his earliest moments is being all gee, wouldn't demonic cultivation be cool! And I feel like this is actually kind of a red flag, here! (And inconsistent with his FJ characterization but I mean, lol, obviously.) Like, I think CQL really does soften him up, in ways that aren't always obvious because they're less contradicting what we see and more adding to it. But when you really just look at what we see of him in the novel...

And I mean—I don't actually begrudge him revenge? Like, yeah, JGY killed his brother, obviously he's going to go for revenge. That checks out. I do think JGY was in the right, but I also get why that doesn't matter. But—you know, in the present day, Chifeng-zun's reputation is doing just fine. The brotherhood oath is on one of JGY's murals on the path to Carp Tower, for heaven's sake. The Qinghe Nie aren't in as great condition, but that's because NHS is whatever combination of incompetent and lazy and faking incompetence and laziness, and JGY provides NHS with a huge amount of support!

And JGY doted on NHS. If NHS had wanted to kill him, he could have. But that wasn't enough: he wanted to destroy as much as he could everything JGY had ever loved. It's horrible.

#I am honestly disgusted by the defenses I've seen of what he does with MS' corpse #'it's what JGY did with NMJ's corpse!' #I mean a) so NMJ's corpse didn't/reassemble itself and kill him/ there was a serious fucking pragmatic purpose here #but b) even assuming that there wasn't and that JGY had done this for shits and giggles #that would be a reason to do the same to /JGY's/ corpse #not this last fundamental abuse and humiliation and horror to his mother #god almighty

God alone is Almighty, not the devil.

We are told in Psalm 24:1: “The earth is the LORD’S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it.” We belong to the Lord.

Scripture also tells us the devil is the “ruler of this world” (John 12:31) and that he is the “god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4). The devil has no power over the children of God, but only over the “children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3) — the ones who are not born-again Christians. He is the ruler and the god of those who opposes Christ and His kingdom.

The devil will not rule over hell. As a matter of fact, he’ll be “thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 20:10). Such a destiny isn’t only fated for the devil, but all who follow him. All who are not in Christ are His enemies. You are either with Christ or you are against Him. Remember Christ’s own words: “He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters” (Matthew 12:30).

There is only One whom you should fear: God. As Ecclesiastes 12:13 tells us: “The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.” Worth noting this is a fear to be encouraged, for it is a reverential awe of God.

Another important point to make is that Satan not only knows Scripture inside and out but he also knows God. Beware of being a great theologian like the devil — knowing God without having a heart for Him.

Ultimately, the devil, along with all who oppose God, will kneel before the King of kings (Philippians 2:10-11).
