full moon in taurus lunar eclipse: 11/8/22
It is apparent that on full moons, energy is almost always heightened in some way. However, this particular one intensifies emotional layers. Since this full moon is in Taurus (its exaltation), the change is going to come in a slow and purposeful way. Emotions are destabilized but ready for release and inspired by new outcomes due to the North Node eclipse. With Mercury and Venus in Scorpio also in the mix, deep relationships and deep conversations/communications are valued right now. Scorpio rules our deepest layers, so thoughts and values bring intense transformation. Looking into new ways of connecting into ourselves is another possibility. There will be a lot of uneasy change as well as unexpected surprises.
There is an uneasy cosmic energy right now as this Taurean energy and Saturn delays the impulsive nature that generally happens on full moons. Because of this, frustrations arise. Feeling trapped and/or stuck in a rut will also occur. It's important to go with the flow of Uranus' need for bringing radical change and be gentle with yourself as you take on new challenges or periods of growth. Keep in mind, it might challenging. Lunar/Uranian Taurus energy as well as retrograde Mars are slowing things down. Mars in retrograde slows down momentum and can cause creative blocks. This full moon, it's best to center your manifestation around money, relationships, and self-worth. This is the last full moon eclipse until 2025. Make it count.

This is a must read article if one wants to feel some hope regarding democracy in the U.S.
I live in New England, one of the bluest regions in the US in terms of politics. I’ve been wondering what has been happening in the northern part of the region in New Hampshire lately because it seems to be embracing more and more right-wing politics. Well, now I know. The Free State Project has invaded NH.
To understand what happened — and is happening — in Croydon, you should remember the New Hampshire motto: “Live Free or Die.” [...]
You also should know that New Hampshire’s individual-rights vibe, along with its small population (1.38 million) and large legislature (400 representatives and 24 senators), has drawn libertarians like colonists to a tea party.
This includes the Free State Project, a movement that for years has promoted a mass migration of “liberty activists” to the state so as to seed a kind of limited-government Shangri-La. The group espouses “radical personal responsibility,” “constitutional federalism” and “peaceful resistance to shine the light on the force that is the state,” its website says. [emphasis added]
In many New England towns budgets and policies are decided directly by residents at town meetings. This is the story of what happened at one eventful town meeting in March 2022 in Croydon (population 800) to approve
“the proposed $1.7 million school budget, which covers the colonial-era schoolhouse (kindergarten to fourth grade) and the cost of sending older students to nearby schools of their choice, public or private.” [emphasis added]
Tumblr media
At the last minute, 60 year-old Ian Underwood, a town selectman spoke up “and threw a sucker punch to the body politic.“
Calling the proposed budget a “ransom,” he moved to cut it by more than half — to $800,000. He argued that taxes for education had climbed while student achievement had not, and that based in part on the much lower tuition for some local private schools, about $10,000 for each of the town’s 80 or so students was sufficient — though well short of, say, the nearly $18,000 that public schools in nearby Newport charged for pupils from Croydon.
In pamphlets he brought to the meeting, Mr. Underwood asserted that sports, music instruction and other typical school activities were not necessary to participate intelligently in a free government, and that using taxes to pay for them “crosses the boundary between ‘public benefit’ and ‘private charity’.” [emphasis added]
At the low attendance town meeting, Underwood’s budget proposal passed by a vote of 20 to 14. Underwood’s wife, the school board chair, Dr. Jody Underwood, “a learning scientist with a doctorate in education,” had supported her husband’s proposal at the meeting.
The shocking budget cut meant that the school board suddenly had to craft a new financial plan, while many parents suddenly had to come up with thousands of dollars to keep their children in public schools.
“I would have to put in an extra thousand hours of work a year,” said Ed Spiker, 38, a painting contractor whose two sons attend Newport public schools. [...] Dr. Underwood, meanwhile, smiled as she recalled the amendment’s passage. She also noted that “people were pissed.” [...] But they were also chastened. They hadn’t attended the town meeting. They hadn’t fulfilled their democratic obligation. They hadn’t kept informed about the Free State movement. To some observers, they had gotten what they deserved. [...] “As citizens we have many rights, but we also have obligations,” said Wayne Lesperance, a political science professor at New England College, in Henniker, N.H. “And when we don’t fulfill our obligations, we often end up with results we don’t like.” [emphasis added]
Read the article to see how residents of the town got together and formed a nonpartisan group called We Stand Up for Croydon Students, and got the school budget decision reversed by a vote of 377 to 2.
The group originally known as We Stand Up for Croydon Students is now called We Stand Up for Croydon. Its members met in a living room a couple of weeks ago to discuss future plans, including how to confront that central threat to democracy, complacency. [emphasis added]

Please watch this! We in the US are about to lose the right to free and fair elections.
This means we will lose the ability to actually elect anyone. The republicans are going to install whoever the fuck they want to.

Are you an American adult, unhappy with what's going on, and determined to vote about it this November?
Yes? That's awesome! You absolutely should vote in every election -- and there's more you can do, on top of that.
I've decided this year to really try and ward off the apathy that's common with my age group and younger. It's part of fighting for my rights - I'm not staying quiet while people around me apathetically let racist and mysoginistic extremists take over. Here's some ideas I've had:
Try the "yes, and" approach. I'm sure we all know people who will post about things on social media, but then stay home on election day. It's really frustrating, I will agree wholeheartedly with that. What I've tried to do is approach it from the assumption of care, and provide resources for them to get further involved: "Hey, I see you're passionate about this -- that's great, and there are some things you can do to help change this! Keep talking about it and raising awareness, please let me know if I can help you in any way."
Be curious about why people aren't voting or registered to vote. I've found some of it is due to myths (they don't want to get thrown in the pool for jury duty, not realizing some places pull from license databases too). Sometimes people think it's harder than it is (in my state, it takes just a few minutes online with information you have in your wallet). Some people are disenfranchised by accessibility issues (whether this is physical, mental, situational, or systemic), but would register or vote if they had someone to encourage, guide, or even provide material support (like offering a ride or childcare). Others just don't see the point, which brings me to my next one...
Show the tangible benefits. My state passed a significant paid parental leave program, which allowed my husband and I to take ours consecutively and stay home for eight months once all was said and done. I try to find city programs people benefit from. If I come across exciting initiatives our citizens or legislators are trying to pass, I share those too. If there's anything you know someone supports, and you find a candidate who supports these things, let them know.
Show the tangible risks. I once thought that there wasn't too much to worry about - I'm in a blue state in what I thought was a fairly blue city. Turns out, my city is actually pretty freaking purple. Not only that, but the local (official) GOP establishment is actively cheering defunding our city libraries because they are "liberal brainwashing facilities". Two Republicans on my LOCAL COUNTY COUNCIL were trying to dissolve the health department partnership at the height of the pandemic when people were DYING. Every one of my friends was shocked to find this out, especially when I had screenshots and videos where these people said these things with their own words. People like this are everywhere and they can and they WILL fight to take away your rights if you don't ACTIVELY stand up and defend them. Make this loud and clear.
Engage your social circle. I am fortunate that we have mail-in voting by default that is so easy, you don't even need a stamp to mail it in. All you have to do is fill it out and return it to any drop box or secure mailbox. I'm having a pizza party, and voting is the price of admission. Show that you voted already, or bring your ballot and I've got fun pens for you to fill it out with! When we're done, they go straight in the mail, and then we party and play games.
The biggest thing I've found is that people are tired and feel hopeless. There's a lot of news to keep track of all the time, and it's easy to become complacent. It's easy to forget things if you don't know what the stakes are. Sometimes all people need is a friend to encourage and help them, and it's something you can do to amplify your voice and empower others.
If you have it within you at all, I encourage you not to just vote. Vote, and help the people around you vote too.
There is some really scary shit going on out there, I cannot state this emphatically enough. People in positions of power are trying to erase the atrocities that have happened in our past, and prevent people from learning about it -- why would they want to do that? What motives would someone have to make slavery sound more palatable, to make Nazis sound more sympathetic? There's a reason, and it isn't a good one.
I refuse to accept there is nothing we can do. People are trying to make it that way and make it feel that way, but I'm not accepting that, so I've made it my mission to meet people where they're at so they are empowered to stand with me.

"Well, as a Republican, I'm sure you DO feel differently about other people starving to death than I do." -- my wife, to some old white guy running for mayor of our city.
And on that note, time to vote, America! Local and state elections matter so much more than you realize, don't just save it for the presidential election. Midterms set the tone, get your ass out there.

With Roe v. Wade probably getting overturned tomorrow, please remember, we HAVE to get out and vote in November. Everyone is fucked with all of the SCOTUS decisions coming out. Our ONLY chance is voting in more Blue. And taking a CHANCE with one party is better than giving up entirely to the other. A CHANCE is better than certain annihilation. At least Blue won't make things worse for the majority of the people in this country. And I'd take that well over things continuing to take us back in time. Because that's exactly what the corrupt SCOTUS is doing.
