Yellow Brick Ramble is far enough along that I decided it was time to order bookmarks, which are what I use as business cards at conventions and appearances.
It's got spot gloss too! How fun! All nine members of Jinjur's army of revolt (who you'll meet in the next few chapters) are here as well as an ordinary non-magnified wogglebug.
I gave the speaking role to Juni Jump because someone has to say "dot com" and she has such a lovely speaking voice.
Also featured on the back are Dorothy and her friends from the first page:

I ordered them from the same place I did Gastrophobia's bookmarks, which had a similar characters-walking-in-a-row design:

A fan art of @gastrophobia’s Ozma and Dorothy doing that lesbian pose from last year. I couldn’t resist.

I discovered this awesome webcomic at the beginning of the year. I was reading the TV Tropes article, “The Unpronounceable” when I saw the image of characters struggling to say her real name.

Dorothy contemplates Eternity. A companion piece to my fic "The Heretic."
So, I wrote this out of spite in response to a troll who reviewed my previous fic and told me to find God, that God hates the sin but not the sinner when it comes to homosexuality, to flee sexual immorality, etc.
Please review. I know it's a personal, raw hybrid of mostly the books, a touch of the 1939 film, a little Return to Oz in there as well, and more than a little influence from Salman Rushdie's essay on the 1939 film (the last paragraphs of which changed me) but I hope the heart shines through in my writing.
Thank you.

Yellow Brick Wander is a deliberately trans retelling of Ozma of Oz! The author's given About Page on this one is, for the FIRST time in my entire decade in webcomics, too powerful for me to share here in its entirety; the website as a whole is extremely cute and intentional and you should take some time to poke around.

Daisy can be found here on tumblr at @gastrophobia, and it seems she's written many other comics you can find links to on the Yellow Brick Ramble site.

Gastrophobia (2008)
as of March 2022
⭐️⭐️⭐️
There are lots of things I really like about Gastrophobia. I wish I enjoyed reading it more.
I find the art style constantly charming and nice to look at. The chibi characters with simple shapes are really up my alley. I really like the crass, anticlimactic humor and I have quite a bit of affection for the cast of shitty people.
I love Phobia as a sexy meathead and a sassy mom who has no real skills but charges straight through every obstacle. I want to see more of Gastro/Pepsia as a sensitive black sheep baby bard. I find Klepto extremely charming as a grumpy, intelligent guy with the edge of male privilege palpably absent due to his utterly subordinate caste. Mania is a delightful unkempt, uncanny woman who feels like an extremely kind disaster waiting to happen. And I love Philia cause she's such a pain.
My favorite moment for Mania as trans representation was when she gave Philia a big hug and offered to be her mommy. Seeing her as a comfortable presence and a physically approachable provider of affection made me feel good.
I think when I am reading the comic I just don't get very much of what I like.
I think the core premise of Gastrophobia is weird comedy and maybe drama about these oddball characters in an exaggerated, morbid greek myth playground. As I read the archives, I kept feeling like the stories about this premise were in danger of being outnumbered by stories that veered off into a gimmicky, self-aware tangent. Sometimes it's AU episodes, sometimes it's video game or cartoon references, sometimes it's finicky lore explanations, sometimes it feels like the writing needs to make fun of its own tropes every other line. These are great as sideshows, but by the end I felt as though I'd read lots of self-referential paratext and very little of the "main comic" Gastrophobia.
More important than any of that, though, is how much I love Trivia the Sphinx. She is so cute and smart. I would marry her. It's funny that Trivia's lectures on dreams are the only pages Daisy says she doesn't like in her caption, because the line "Okay, now see how I dropped my original thesis and went off on some vaguely-related tangent? Dreams are kinda like that." is my most funny and memorable line of the comic. She makes some of my favorite expressions there too.

Hi! I'm just putting cute stuff in my comic instead of trying to be funny.

Today's Friday Fan-Art stars (older) Gastro from the webcomic, Gastrophobia! This one's a comedy comic that takes place in ancient Greece. I was surprised at how strongly the story developed as it went on; the interactions between young Gastro and his mom were plenty funny on their own, but the whole comic builds into something even stronger. The rest of the cast help make @gastrophobia into something amazing. Gastro is usually much more level-headed than his mother, so he'd be the first to come up with better solutions to various issues besides killing things.

Missing scenes from The Lost Princess of Oz. Abducted by the felonious Ugu the Shoemaker, Ozma finds herself in a magical prison that forces her to confront her own insecurities... and her feelings for Dorothy. Dorzma.
Hi, everyone! I've written another Dorzma fic. I hope you enjoy and, if you do, please leave a review. Reviews and comments keep us writers thriving.
