A container filled with Tulipa ‘Brown Sugar’ (tulip). The flowers are sturdy and sweetly scented. It really feels like spring when the tulips bloom.

Springtime Colours - Purple
Had a short walk around and spotted signs of springtime. Some pretty grape hyacinths or muscari flowers.
The cherry blossoms are out too, will have to try and grab my camera for them, but it is also raining so....will wait for dry weather, hopefully they'll wait for me :)

I am waiting for you in the grasslands
and meadows
In the rivers and waterfalls
I am waiting for you in the gardens
and forests
because our love blossomed into something
so pure and beautiful
that earth adorned herself with it

Plant of the Day
Friday 29 March 2024
The flowers of Stachyurus praecox are looking smart this year as the display is often damaged by frost. This spreading, deciduous shrub produces bell-shaped, pale yellow-green flowers on purple stems before the leaves emerge.

400 [hundred: typo that I need to leave as a sign of shame and the necessity of proof reading--maze is just 400 years old and not 40000] year old (not) abandoned maze in Spain. Edit: As pointed out, the hedges are not in fact abandoned, but carefully maintained by expert hedgers.
