The Game Reserve Sign
What's this? Not a costume or creature?! Nay! 'Tis a sign! (With a creature on it) Surprise, we are both experienced sign makers as well! We made this hanging, tavern-style sign for our local game store, The Game Reserve, featuring their existing artwork!

I had a Mac 512K and I’m guessing that’s what the Ludus game store in Paris used to make their own ad, first appearing in late 1984 and seen here from Casus Belli 32, April 1986

Obelisk the Tormentor
Tumblr media
I have been buying used Yu-Gi-Oh! cards from my local game and comic shop for a few months now. There is always one or two foil or special cards. I have gotten some pretty good cards from buying them this way, but I had never gotten a Monster card that was so special. I watched all of Duel Monsters, so for me an Egyptian God Card is so special. It’s not actually very valuable, not in the best condition, but it made me so happy. I was going through the pack I just bought, expecting that the first card (a Fusion monster) would be the most valuable/powerful card, and then I saw this. Obelisk isn’t my favorite card, or even my favorite of the Egyptian God Cards, Slifer the Sky Dragon is my favorite God and Blue-Eyes White Dragon is my favorite card. I don’t have either of those, but I was still happy to get this.
Seto Kaiba is my favorite character

Trying to open my own LGS
Quick clarification, what kind of LGS I'm talking about trading cards (Magic: the Gathering, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh), table top RPGs (Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu), board games (not your father's board games, stuff that gets a start on Kickstarter), and Miniatures (stuff like Warhammer 40,000)
So ever since I picked up card games in my teens and set foot in a Game Store. I knew that I wanted to do something like it. But for me it's not about making money (though being my own boss and such is a plus) what I want to do is create a space for people of all ages to gather and bond and have a great time. Because I never had that growing up. I had two or three friends that we sometimes had a sleepover and stayed up playing video games. Never did I go out and make friends, it was hard for me.
I wanna change the fact that there isn't a place for people like me and kids growing up like I did. I want a place for a community of people to be able to buy what they want exactly, and then play with their friends or make new ones. I know me personally I hate giving my money to places like Walmart for these kinds of products cause it almost feels a little hollow. Cause I'm just getting product with no interaction with a store owner or other customers saying "Oh hey you like that game too!"
I am at square zero, I've just been digging around online like a dog trying to find that bone he buried last spring. I'm taking notes on what I can and trying to figure out what I need to do and the steps to get there. I have read many posts all over the place, but I figured it was time to go in and ask myself to get the specific answers I've been looking for.

Grown Ups, an adult game store, was launched just under a month ago. The premise of the site is that they pick through games so you dont have to. Also to be more developer friendly and give a larger cut to developers.
They have someone playing through the games and making sure that there's no underaged content, no rape, no incest, and no abuse. If there is anything, it's either entirely axed or warned on the page before you ever buy the game.
There's a personalized review on every page that tells you what to expect out of the games, along with photos, videos, and even developer interviews. Treating adult gaming with respect instead of as a taboo.
They are looking to build a userbase and build a community among people who are into adult gaming.
The current available games are based on the main team's preferences (which are a bit straighter than most of tumblr) but will grow with the community and growth of the company.
Im hoping that it's as well recieved as I think it should be in the adult content community.
