As everyone knows, 2022 was a really good year for sexy wolves. However, there are a couple of wolves that came out this year which you may not know about, unless you're familiar with the hotel/indoor water park known as Great Wolf Lodge.

These are Wiley and Violet Wolf (no relation). They are two of the mascots of Great Wolf Lodge and a couple of the stars of the recent The Great Wolf Pack: A Call to Adventure. They didn't always look like this, of course, but lately, they've been aged up. They don't look too bad for promotional characters, now do they?

Oh, and just in case you were wondering, here's the movie itself. They also made some shorts, but they haven't put them on YouTube yet.

The Great Wolf Pack: A Call To Adventure Trailer By Great Wolf Pack on YouTube

I just got done watching a little movie by the name of The Great Wolf Pack: A Call To Adventure.  It's probably pretty obviously what drew me in, just from looking at the trailer.  The cute cartoon animals.  Hee hee.

So, a group of kids find each other and go on a grand adventure which leads them to some problem-solving, and they learn a lot about each other and about life, along the way. 

Anyway, it's a movie that's in the style of old, Saturday morning cartoons like Silverwing or Toad Patrol.  The pacing is a little rushed – probably because they had a lot to pack into 48 minutes – but the movie definitely gives me the warm fuzzies.  All of the characters are really good and each has a unique personality and traits, the art is lovely, some of the writing is really clever, and I just generally enjoyed watching this.  I'd love to see it turned into an actual weekly series, but alas… I'm not sure it's ever going to be popular enough for the parent company, Great Wolf Lodge, to fund that sort of thing.

Regardless, I definitely recommend giving it a watch.  I'm very glad that I finally did!

Thing is it's got to be about equality- if you add the fs dungeon to Legend's story you gotta add the realm of memory to Four's, which would actually mean he's previously time traveled to two other eras- and would thus recognize the downfall duo's worlds

This is a pretty good movie

Full disclosure: I didn’t grow up going to the Great Wolf Lodge. Never been there even once. They didn’t advertise in my area until the 2010s, well after it had been established as a franchise. Besides that, my family wouldn’t have been able to afford it, especially since the California locations didn’t exist then. In other words, I never formed an attachment or nostalgia for these characters.

Despite that, though, when I first heard of this movie, I was looking forward to seeing it. As somebody who knew next to nothing about the Great Wolf Lodge mascots and had no prior bias, I thought these new designs were really nice.

As I mentioned on my Twitter, I was kind of astonished to see a well-animated, old school “funny animal” cartoon in this day and age that wasn’t Looney Tunes. Classical style cartoon designs for animal characters have been an extremely rare breed ever since the late 1990s...

The movie isn’t perfect, but I hope it does well and continues as a series. The lip sync is often off, especially earlier in the movie. I think the animators should’ve had a couple more months to polish it. The pacing seems kind of rushed too, like we just jump from one plot point to another. I’d like there to be more humor as well. It needs a tiny bit more edge to it, like MLP:FiM style jokes. As it is it’s a little mild.

I think this has a lot of potential, though. I look forward to seeing more of this version of the cast, should they decide to keep at it.

I just discovered something interesting for me to watch in youtube. The movie is called The Great Wolf Pack: A Call to Adventure. I first saw the trailer of the movie and honestly for me those character designs of the packare absolutely cute!

Although the movie is not very perfect in the story. But I am hoping that this movie deserves more love including The Great Wolf Pack franchise

So please give this movie a chance and hopefully this can be popular.

The Entertaining World of New Fiddleham

I will never get tired of William Ritter's vision of the magical world of R. F. Jackaby and Abigail Rook. William Ritter’s magical way with words and world building is very compelling and his masterful story telling keeps me wanting more. Never have I been so relieved to get a follow-up book to a series. Rook was an instant pre-order for me. The description states that it can standalone, but I would recommend reading the Jackaby series first for a richer experience. Rook is a fast-paced dive into the consequences that unfolded in The Dire King. The books centers on Abigail Rook former assistant to R. F. Jackaby. Despite Abigail’s new abilities and her changing role in the household, she must solve a mystery in New Fiddleham. Abigail must put aside her personal issues and move forward with the support and sometimes dubious assistance of a menagerie of characters found in The Jackaby series.

Nicola Barber's wonderful voice delivers a multilayered performance as the varied inhabitants of New Fiddleham, and the experience is like listening to a full cast recording.

Rook is a magical book. Three generations in my household have read and loved all The Jackaby stories and Rook is a welcome addition to the series. Step through the portal, my friend, a magical world awaits.

I was asked to tell more about the holidays in my legacy gameplay, so here is a super long and detailed post on the subject! 😊

How I use holidays in my game

I used to hate the holidays, cos I saw them as something my sims had to participate in and there was always so much pressure to complete all the traditions! But then I cracked it...

Holidays are a great way to add objectives to gameplay! When every day is some kind of a holiday with its own theme, there's always something for my sims to do.

I tick the "day off" box only if the holiday is a major one or the traditions would feel too rushed if my sim worked on the same day.

I try to have a lot of outdoor/traveling holidays in the spring and summer, and more home lot based holidays in the autumn and winter.

For some holidays, I add a diverse set of traditions and then choose only one or two to complete every sim year.

Sometimes my sims are just too busy with other things in life to participate at all. The No more "awful holiday" sad moodlet mod (linked below) is super useful because it completely takes the pressure off of completing holiday traditions!

It's very refreshing to use custom icons for the holidays, it matters more than you'd think! I use the More selectable icons mod (linked below) for this feature.

If you want to create your own holidays, but struggle with coming up with ideas, here are some things I always consider when I create holidays.

Can you match a world with a season? Summer holidays in Sulani, winter holidays in Mt. Komorebi, etc.

Alternatively, have a summer holiday in Sulani when it's winter elsewhere, a winter holiday in Mt. Komorebi when it's summer elsewhere, etc.

What if you took the default holidays and placed them in a different season? Celebrate Winterfest on the beach in the summer!

Can you match a world with a theme? Nature holidays in Granite Falls, city holidays in San Myshuno, etc.

Think of a simple theme for your holiday (games, sports, food, animals, books, etc.) and choose traditions based on that.

Create a holiday that requires your sim to travel from world to world to complete all the traditions.

Have a 3 day holiday for a vacation trip, with different traditions to complete each day.

Create holidays for specific life stages. What would a teen or an elder sim do for their holiday?

Create a holiday for each occult type. How would a Spellcaster spend their holiday?

Can you think of a way to combine holidays and clubs?

Put two really different holidays right next to each other so you have lots of variety in gameplay.

If you're playing a legacy, create a holiday for each heir sim based on their personality, and have their offspring celebrate these holidays to honor them.

Research real life holidays that are celebrated around the world to find new ideas.

In the Gojo household, chaos was just another member of the family. Amidst the battles and the trials, there was a slice of normalcy: your child.

Little Yuki was the light of your life. She looked like the carbon copy of Gojo, but somehow inherited your calmer personality. Like any child of her age, she had her moments of defiance. And today was one of those days.

"Mommy, Daddy!" Yuki's voice pierced through the silence of the household like a tiny arrow. You and Gojo exchanged a glance, accustomed to such interruptions.

"What's up, kiddo?" Gojo asked, a grin already spreading across his face.

"I want ice cream for dinner!" Yuki declared, crossing her arms over her chest, her pout matching her father's all too well.

You exchanged a look with your husband, silently communicating that it was a battle neither of you were going to win. "Sorry, sweetheart," you began, "but ice cream isn't really a dinner food."

Yuki's face fell, her disappointment evident. But instead of the expected protest, she surprised you both with a declaration. "Well, if I can't have ice cream for dinner, then I'm running away!"

Gojo's laughter echoed through the room, and you couldn't help but chuckle at your daughter's dramatics. "Running away, huh? Where to?" he teased, kneeling down to her eye level.

Yuki's tiny brows furrowed in concentration as she pondered her escape plan. "To the park! I'll live on the swings and under the huge elephant slide!"

You exchanged another glance with Gojo, both of you struggling to contain your laughter. "Well, we'll miss you, little adventurer," you said, trying to keep a straight face. "But don't forget to pack your teddy bear!"

Yuki's resolve wavered for a moment as she considered the logistics of bringing her favorite plush companion on her great journey. "Okay!" she exclaimed, dashing off to her room to fetch her teddy.

As she disappeared down the hallway, Gojo turned to you with a amusement in his eyes. "Should we let her go through with it?"

You shook your head, a smile tugging at your lips. "Of course not. But let's play along for a bit. It'll be good for a laugh."

Agreeing to the plan, you and Gojo followed Yuki to her room, where she was diligently stuffing her teddy bear into a tiny backpack. "All packed and ready to go?" Gojo asked, leaning against the doorframe.

Yuki nodded solemnly, her expression a mix of determination and excitement. "Yep! I'm gonna live at the park forever and ever! And I'll have a lot of fun!"

As she made her way towards the front door, backpack bouncing with each step, you exchanged a knowing look with Gojo. This was going to be one for the family scrapbook.

With exaggerated solemnity, you and Gojo followed Yuki out the door, watching as she marched purposefully down the sidewalk, her tiny frame filled with determination.

But as she reached the end of the block, her resolve began to waver. The park seemed much farther away than she had anticipated, and the weight of her decision started to sink in.

You and Gojo watched from a distance, hidden behind a tree, as Yuki paused at the corner, her bottom lip trembling ever so slightly.

"I don't think I want to run away anymore," she finally admitted, her voice barely audible from your vantage point.

With a silent nod, you and Gojo emerged from your hiding spot, unable to contain your laughter any longer. Yuki's face lit up at the sight of you both, her momentary distress forgotten.

"I'm sorry for trying to run away," she said, her eyes brimming with tears.

Gojo scooped her up into his arms, planting a kiss on her forehead. "It's okay, sweetheart. We know you were just upset. But next time you want something, just ask nicely, okay?"

Yuki nodded, her tears replaced with a wide smile. "Okay, Daddy."
