So I started looking into ways to get my fictional war kitty cats tweaked! :D

EDIT: If y’all enjoy this research, take a look at my rewrite!! I tend to dip down deep into a lot of various aspects, and end up including a lot of it into the story itself!! ^^

This guide is merely an attempt to share some fun knowledge and additional world building for a FICTIONAL society of cats. You should never try to give your real life animals things described in books or writhing unless they’ve come from people who actively know what they’re doing and have something to prove it.

LIQUIDS

SYRUPS

With the easy access that these cats have to multiple trees, the syrups that they have the ability to make aren’t just limited to maple! Various nut producing trees (walnut, heartnut, butternut, etc) boxelder, alder, birch, and pine (amongst others) are all notable for their sap, which can, of course, be turned into syrup.

Though these sorts of syrups are primarily for flavor. The syrup that these guys would mostly be looking to for some fun times would come from other sources…

Namely valerian root syrup! If catnip can be compared to marijuana, then valerian root specifically might be a bit more like phencyclidine in terms of behavior, or isobutyl nitrite (rush) via chemical effects. It is commonly used in small doses by veterinarians to treat stress and anxiety in animals.

This is probably the only thing on the liquid list that might actually be safe for cats to ingest. But I want to stress again: Do Not give your pets anything from this list; I am NOT an expert in this field.

MEADS

Mead is probably the easiest for these cats to make, should they have any sort of access to honey.

Rather than adding yeast, which can be harmful to cats alongside being quite difficult for them to get their paws on, mead is to be fermented! Natural, less harmful yeast comes from the air (room-temperature water and honey is the ideal for fermentation) or it can be added via fruits or spices.

This is not safe for irl cats, however in small amounts, or fictional feline friends can enjoy some ol’ fermented honey-and-water fun.

CIDERS

Since the cats have used the prefix “Apple-”several times, we can clearly see that they know of apples. Which in turn, I’m sure, means they have access to them.

A natural, non-harmful yeast lives on the surface of apples straight from the stem, and as soon as it’s pressed into juice, it will ferment and become alcoholic on its own when left in a contained space and at a steady temperature.

Depending on the time it’s left to it’s own devices, that will affect the taste.

Keep in mind that all of these liquids are pretty high in both natural sugars, as well as containing sugars purposefully added; excessive sugar isn’t healthy for cats, so should they be able to make these, the danger of overindulgence should be stressed.

HERBS

CATNIP

Also known as Nepeta cataria, catswort/catwort, and catmint, catnip is an herb that is most well-known for its affects on felines.

It is most commonly used as a recreational substance and has been observed to have many different effects on various cats. One-third of cats have been noted to not be affected by catnip, and it seems that the behavior is linked to genes and age, and is usually hereditary.

The herb can improve relaxation, which may reduce anxiety, restlessness, and nervousness, making it a prime option in terms of medicinal uses. For recreational uses, however, it may cause cats to act in a number of different fashions, however the most common are as follows: excessive rubbing, rolling around, pawing, licking, and chewing when exposed solely to the scent, while consumption is followed by sleepiness, anxiety, bursts of energy, drooling, purring, biting, growling or meowing loudly.

MATATABI (Silver Vine)

While catnip is the most well-known, matatabi is reportedly more potent and effective. Silver vine contains more and different compounds that cats like and respond to, and, unlike catnip, silver vine’s effects are nearly immediate and last for a much shorter amount of time.

Also unlike in catnip, matatabi is most effective outright consumed, especially in the forms of sticks! Chewing on matatabi sticks, twigs, and shoots is not only a good way for cats to still feel the effects (which are the same as catnip’s, though with a more prominent lean into relaxation and stress-relief), but also an excellent way to keep up with dental hygiene!

Alongside being a a recreational substance, matatabi also has medicinal uses! It contains a significant amount of vitamin C, and is known to lower high blood pressure and provide relief from arthritis pains. In especially large quantities, its leaves may also have a mildly hallucinogenic effect.

TATARIAN HONEYSUCKLE

Honeysuckle berries, flowers, and leaves are toxic to cats and should not be given to them under any circumstances. It is exclusively the wood part of the plant that is safe, and is most often used via scent sprays and toys.

Unlike catnip and matatabi, tatarian honeysuckle specifically has been reported to not possess the same age effective limits that it’s counterparts have. As such, it is a prime choice to stuff into toys (for our cats in question: at the center of moss balls, inside of fabric toys, stuffed into woven mats, etc), especially for younger cats.

Tartarian honeysuckle also has an extended growing season: producing leaves, flowers and berries very early on during spring, and shutting down only late into the autumnal months. It grows quickly and tall, however it is invasive and can very quickly choke out other plants should it be left to its own devices.

FOODS

MUSHROOMS

Raw mushrooms are difficult for cats to digest, so any mushrooms eaten by this guys should only be done so if they have been thoroughly cooked and softened up.

Psilocybin mushroom specifically can be used for this purpose. Some psychedelic mushrooms can also be used for medicinal purposes via treating some forms of treatment-resistant depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and other mental health disorders.

Most hallucinogenic mushrooms used for recreational purposes are toxic to pets, however. Look HERE for various listings of mushroom poisoning and toxicity, alongside any potential symptoms found in some pets for some of these mushroom poisonings.

SEEDS

Various seeds can be used and are safe in moderation for cats.

Raw, unwashed poppy seeds specifically are some of the most popular - and some we see used even in Warriors canon as medicine! The seeds are most commonly boiled and made into teas that supposedly relieve pain, while other teas are simply used in an attempt to wring out the “high” and relaxation from said poppy seeds.

BERRIES

Mulberries specifically are the only berries I’ve found that are safe for cats to ingest while also providing some sort of recreational reaction.

Ripe fruit is a nice snack for cats on occasion! The hallucinogenics come from unripened berries, mature leaves, and the white sap that they produce.

Unripe fruit may (and probably will) cause stomach discomfort, neurological system hyperactivity, and hallucinations when consumed.

I went down the youtube dog training rabbithole and I hate what I saw. why are all of these macho idiots abusing their dogs based on 0 science or evidence and saying that anyone who doesn't do the same is a cuck/wuss/will never be able to train a dog. why are people so obsessed with the idea that you should be able to train a dog not to do x behaviour in 10 minutes, when any technique working on such a short timeframe likely doesn't address the underlying causes of the behaviour. anyway as a result now I know what LIMA training is - which tbqh my family largely followed with my our dog by accident, before any of us had ever heard of it, because... yeah obviously?

With the understanding that I haven't played Three Hopes yet, it's my understanding that there's a point in each of the three routes where, depending on how you play it, you can recruit Jeralt and Byleth to Shez' side; this will eventually lead to Arval going Evil Mode just before the final chapter and needing to be defeated. Now, logically, if Byleth and Jeralt's recruitment depends on how you play, that means you can miss that opportunity, too...

...and that's where this Fallen Byleth comes in. It seems like if you don't fulfill the optional objectives that would lead to Jeralt's recruitment, you end up having to kill him -- and that breaks Byleth completely, to the point that they allow Sothis to possess them. So this Byleth isn't really Byleth: it's Sothis using Byleth as a vessel, rather like what Rhea wanted all along.

What can you tell us a little on Atlantis or the history of it, Shaska?

"There is quite a bit that can be shared, I'd be happy to do so. But most of it shouldn't be replicated or shared too deeply." Such as the dangers such an ancient technology posed, right down to a point that some may call it magic. With how Atlantis had used crystals and song to resonate and control, for power sources, and the like. But she could at least give a gentle history lesson.

"Long ago, there were many ancient civilizations of which eventually fell into obscurity or simply collapsed. Many have been found and studied extensively! However, that of Atlantis has mostly stayed in Obscurity, especially with the age of such an ancient place, and how we only have texts and rough translations or references of that place from other bright minds of the ancient ages. Even by then, Atlantis had been aged. In fact, Atlantis has been called 'Antediluvian' which essentially means that it is a civilization that existed before most other designations of writing, out right older than the great flood of biblical telling. This suggests it is probably just outside of the strait that made up the entry way of the Mediterranean, and thus suggesting that the entire island sank somewhere along the Mariana trench, or even closer inland than that! Hell, some believe that while the Sahara desert had been plentiful and green, not dry, Atlantis had been a major location within it. At a place known as 'The Eye Of The Sahara'. It shows signs of something being there, and having once suffered a great flood or tsunami. Ancient maps also label Atlantis like locations at the edge of the continent. Thus suggesting something happened to drag an entire city and land chunk straight off the earth and pulled into the ocean."

"I apologize for rambling, but these are just various colorful legends that I can share off the top of my head. The reality is, that Atlantis was a very real place, and their advancements are what kept this world safe long ago, until war with a higher power, that they used to protect earth, both destroyed themselves and their enemies... And that is all I can share, for it is not wise nor safe to share the true locations or weaponry discoveries."

Warriors Rewrite- The Tribe Rewritten: The Lunar Feles

So I’ve recently stumbled across a post addressing exactly why a lot of people consider The Tribe of Rushing Water to be a collection of racist stereotypes. Knowing what I’ve learned from that post now, I cannot keep the Tribe in my story as it’s presented in canon. And since this is sort of my “fix things the Erins did wrong” rewrite, I want to change it to be less offensively stereotypical towards indigenous people.

However.

I myself am not an indigenous person and I do not believe that I would be able to correctly and accurately portray an indigenous culture. So therefore I have changed it to be something closer to what I believe I can pull off without falling into offensive stereotypes. If any of this still falls into any offensive stereotypes please tell me.

The name Lunar Feles essentially just means “Moon Cats” in Latin because I’m uncreative. The reason behind this name change will be explained below.

Stoneteller      Druid

The Celtic religion was led by spiritual leaders known as druids. Since the Lunar Feles define themselves by their worship of the moon as the bringer of life and their general leader is also a spiritual one, I thought Druid was the best option to name it after.

Unlike Stonetellers in canon, Druids don’t change their name when they become Druid.

The Druid gains an incredibly strong power from Lady Half Moon when they ascend to their position. Specifically, they gain the ability to see the future. This is in contrast to the nine lives StarClan grants their Leaders. Druids are mentally and spiritually tethered to their goddess and constantly receive visions. They live nearly their entire lives in a special cave with a hole above showing the sky to better pick up on these visions.

Other Changed Roles

Not much has really changed here besides the addition of a Healer role (called Cleric) and that Prey-Hunters are renamed Rangers, Cave-Guards are now just Guards, Kit-Mothers are Guardians, and To-Bes are Squires.

Naming Conventions

Since the Lunar Feles are the remnants of the precursor Tribe (called the Caelestia Feles in this AU) that led to the Clan cats, why not keep the Ancient Clan-adjacent name conventions and style?

Here are some examples of some changed canon names:

Brook Where Small Fish Swim = Small Brook

Rain That Rattles on Stones = Rattling Rain

Night of No Stars = Sightless Night

Dark Shadow on Water = Dark Shadow

Territory and Lifestyle

The Lunar Feles make their home in an expansive cave system near the top of a mountain. While the cave system provides them with water and safety, it has little to nothing in the way of food. Therefore a class of hunters leave the caves each day to catch prey. While their main sources of food are either scavenged carcasses from kills made by larger predators or small rodents and birds, the Lunar Feles have adapted a method of hunting large birds of prey as well. While they rarely use it as the method is incredibly dangerous for the cats involved, it is sometimes necessary (mostly in times of famine). 

Rangers (the hunters) are the only Tribe cats who ever leave the caves. Guards will spend their entire lives in the caves.

Spirituality

The Lunar Feles worship a goddess known as “Lady Half Moon”. Half Moon was the first Leader of the Tribe of Rushing Water as appointed by Jay’s Wing in the books, but here she is an all-powerful entity that takes the form of a black cat with stars in her pelt and half a moon for a face. She is an eldritch goddess of death and rebirth in a cycle, something that I imagine that cats who live in such a dangerous place as the mountains are very familiar with. While StarClan and the Dark Forest are held together by large groups of cat spirits, Lady Half Moon is capable of holding her own pocket of space-time open for her loyal worshippers to contact her and go when they die.

Once upon a time, though, there were two gods worshipped by the then-called Caelestia Feles. In addition to the Lady Half Moon, there was also the god of fate, whose name has been lost to time. But who knows, he may be still around...

how do u feel about people shipping alters in moon knight? ik it’s become quite popular, but what are ur feelings about it? just curious, not hating on it, im supportive of all ships and just want to hear ur thoughts!

So. When I first got into MK comics a while ago I did a lot of research into DID and it's cousin OSDD and the general consensus was that every alter is their own complete person. Obviously there's a bunch of nuance there, on the psychological side, and since they're essentially different parts of the same consciousness, and also since the goal of a lot of people who go to therapy for DID is to kind of merge all their alters eventually (there's a different term for it that escapes me atm, I think it's considered more like fusing? Idk I'm not an expert) but generally, particularly as they exist in MK, they are completely separate individuals.

Basically I have zero problems with it. Marc and Steven (and Jake!) are different people that just so happen to share a body, in a sense, so while the logistics get tricky I say go live your wildest dreams lol. Not really my thing, necessarily, but I can totally see the appeal.
