Apparently Freydis makes an appearance on that Vikings show, so I made this thing.
Haven't seen the show, to be clear-- this is my impression of her character in "The Saga of the Greenlanders". Television!Freydis may be very different.

there are so very many reasons to hope hell is real and marion zimmer bradley will burn in it for eternity but i think one that often goes unappreciated is how every other fucking piece of period media set somewhere between late antiquity and the renaissance feels the need to shove in a hammy, black-and-white mists-of-avalon-like unnecessary conflict between the Noble-Hearted Freedom-Loving Not To Mention Sexually Liberated Pagans and the Brutish & Comically Evil Rape-Happy Christians

Ever since I finished VIkings: Valhalla I've been wondering something. All of the greenlanders seem to be well trained in battle, Leif specially. Freydis it's an excelent fighter too, however. It seems to me that before kattegat she wasn't trained, and I wonder: why? Leif has hinted that his dad can be an ass, was he sexist too? He didn't train Freydis as well?

Where {Open}
"Where have you been?" Freydis asked, her voice laced partly with fear and partly with annoyance. She stood and marched towards the person who had come into the hall quickly, hitting their shoulder when she got close enough, "you were supposed to be here hours ago. I've been worried."
