how did floyd meet his ex band mates?? what did he think of them?

It was actually completely on accident. Les was getting firewood for their campfire when he heard a barely audible distressed sound nearby and found Floyd wrapped up in a spider's cocoon. Poor guy was fighting for his last breath when Les rescued him.

Les invited him back to the camp to check over his injuries, which then became a meal and overnight stay (they live in a bug RV), and then a longer stay to mend, and then Floyd was invited to join their band and just stayed for good (mostly because Les was worried what could happen to the kid if he was left alone again (Floyd was pretty malnourished when they found him, after about a year since he left the troll tree, and pretty touch starved too.))

As for what Floyd thought. It was pitch dark in the woods when Les pulled him out of that cocoon so he couldn't get a good look at the guy. The only thing he could tell was that he was insanely huge. But he thought that he must have been just a really big rock troll in a fluffy sweater. When they finally got to the fire he had quite a shock. He was disturbed and intimidated by everyone for sure, since in this AU he'd only met rock trolls so far and hadn't even heard of other types. Add the fact that he had been sure he was going to die not long ago, I'm positive he was in shock for most of that night.

floyd is like a wet shivering kitten left out in the rain, who wouldn't want to take him in??

When the controversial film My Own Private Idaho began production, word in Hollywood was that Phoenix had convinced the recalcitrant Keanu Reeves to take the risk of also playing a gay character in the film. Phoenix disagrees. "Did it convince him? No. He was excited from the start," he recalls. "Keanu supported me and I supported him. But we had a sort of thing where if one didn't do it, the other wouldn't, as we impulsively decided at the same time to do it. So the only way I could follow up on such an impulsive idea it would be if we both did it.

During filming in Idaho in the fall of 1990, nine cast and crew members, including Phoenix and Keanu Reeves, slept on futons spread out in Van Sant's home. It was a college dorm, a tribe, a family. Van Sant showed me his garage, where a bona fide garage band consisting of Phoenix and Reeves and other Idaho actors, as well as Flea, the bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, often played late into the night.

They played the sweet, out-of-order lyrics Phoenix had written for himself and his band, Aleka's Attic ��� "Run to the rescue with love / and peace will follow" or "Hey, hey, where's your halo gone? " They played Beatles and Led Zeppelin, balancing ashtrays in Van Sant's black BMW and drinking wine, smoking pot. Sometimes they ended up crying with Phoenix as he talked about disappearing rainforests.

So in the second movie we see poppy and branch get, basically drugged by smooth jazz. Do you think different kinds of music can be like drugs to trolls who aren't off that genre? I'm just thinking about floyd & his ex band mates just getting high after putting on a funky record

I can't explain to you how much i love this ask, Sapphire! Like it made me obsessed sljhfdjd I was focusing so much on that ringpop pacifier from the third movie and thinking of other troll drugs I could come up with (like sour worms lol) that I completely forgot about smooth jazz!!

Eventually Floyd got up like in a trance, started dancing hippie-style, tripped over his own feet, and never got up

Floyd is still 14 here and they are all morons. Also I think Floyd would in general be much more affected by this genre because he doesn't have any Rock Troll blood like the rest of them. Slowly they will learn through morally dubious trial and error... Pray for them.
