Star Wars: Revelations One-Shot Favorite Moments!
Spider on a baby head! Eternal sparks! A droid messiah! And threats long dead! Sal talks about Star Wars: Revelations! #StarWarsComics
Darth Vader is called by the Eye of Webbish Bog. They share visions of the future and specters of the past and glimpse a future well in motion. Spider on a baby head! Eternal sparks! A droid messiah! And threats long dead! Just another day in the life of a Sith lord… Marc Guggenheim weaves a tale of warning to Lord Vader but can he defy his fate? Or is he simply a tool? As the visions come and…

My most incoherent theory yet: the Eye of Webbish Bog and the Eye of the Albino Cyclops are the same creature. Both of them parasitize larger beings and grant visions of the future. Wat Tambor smuggled the larval Eye in his vacant eye socket to Mustafar where a gigantic host organism would allow it to grow to full size. I’m not sure if Wat imparted anything upon the Eye while he hosted it, but the Eye does seem to gleefully and deliberately torment Darth Vader whenever he tries to ask it anything, and many years later it confuses and pisses off Kylo Ren in the same way.

I love the current Darth Vader comic run atm because he literally has a magical shield and staff so he's already at like, Peak Dark Wizard™ aesthetic and then, after a long day of attempted assassination by his own people, he grouchily returns home to Mustafar to speak with the fucked up lil bog creature that gives him fun Force visions/memories that piss him off. Love that for him.

A little commission I did recently for David Server of a character from an early draft of a Star Wars movie. Behold the Eye of Webbish Bog! It was pretty fun working with physical media for a change. #commissionedart #StarWars #webbishbog #starwarsalien #starwarscreature #creaturedesign #scifiart #scifi https://www.instagram.com/p/CpdsF07OH1r/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

BEHOLD! The Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker we SHOULD have gotten!
This is taken from the novelization and other sources. We would have had a different opening crawl that doesn’t involve a broadcast from Palpatine that was only heard on Fortnite, and then the film would open with the flashback to Leia’s training by Luke before segueing into Rey’s training by Leia. Kylo Ren receives a vision to go to Mustafar from Vader’s helmet, which also triggers a vision in Rey at the same time. At Mustafar, Kylo kills his way through security and reaches the Eye of the Webbish Bog, who grants him Vader’s Sith Wayfinder, which takes him to Exegol where he discovers Palpatine and the Final Order fleet. Then we cut to Rey discussing her vision with Leia and others at the Resistance Base, which is followed by Poe, Finn, Chewie and Klaud’s mission where they receive spy information from Boolio and go Lightspeed Skipping. Then it’s Kylo’s helmet being repaired as he rejoins the Knights of Ren and attends a mafia-style meeting with all leading officers in the First Order.
Poe and the others return to base and we have the big “somehow Palpatine returned” meeting, which is followed by Rey using the Sacred Jedi Texts and Luke’s personal writings to initiate a mission that Leia reluctantly approves. We do not just rush out of the base right away, as we have scenes of Rey speaking with Maz, Rose and Beaumont first, and a new scene between Hux and Pryde after departure. At Pasaana, the scene with Lando is longer and includes the information about his kidnapped daughter and Finn’s angry reaction to the First Order’s kidnapping tactics. Things then progress as they do in the version we have, except that showing Chewie’s survival so soon after his fake-out death is justified by an interrogation scene between him and Kylo (which was cut for being “too intense” instead of...y’know, just toning it down?) After the escape from Kylo Ren’s ship, we then get a new scene with the Resistance, particularly Connix, Rose and Beaumont, then Rey’s reflection on her lineage and how Palpatine had her parents killed, then Hux being executed by Pryde. Finally, Leia leaving for her quarters and Maz telling R2-D2 that she knows what must be done occurs before Kylo shows up at the ruins of the Second Death Star rather than as he and Rey are fighting, showing that she is sensing his imminent arrival through the Force and can also sense ahead of time that he will be killed and left unredeemed unless she does something.
The third act remains the same as we have it, minus the flashback to Luke training Leia since that was at the beginning of the movie here, and more of what was filmed for the final battle (particularly the ground-based stuff) can be present. This is the best version of the story, and I hope that someday people get ahold of deleted scenes so that an edit like this can be made.

The artist behind many of the concept designs for the sequel trilogy delves into the mystery of the Eye of Webbish Bog over on Instagram, as Jake Lunt Davies gives us a bit more detail regarding this fascinating - and pretty creepy - character that ultimately wound up featuring not in The Rise of Skywalker but the Marvel run of Darth Vader.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Jake Lunt Davies (@jakeluntdavies) You can hear Jake discuss his incredible career alongside fellow artist Paul Bateman on our LIVE episode of Start Your Engines, recorded at Celebration Europe 2023. Hello Bob Iger I'd like to see an alternate cut of Rise of the Skywalker where the shots can breathe and is slightly different from the original cut. It doesn't matter if it's much longer because we're used to marathoning series in one go. It doesn't matter if it changes the story slightly because we're also used to it (differences books-adaptations, f. e.). Thank you very much. (Bonus if the eye of the webbish bog appears because I love those things).
