We are unable to see God's truth until He opens our eyes. You cannot will yourself into true salvific faith. We cannot make someone believe. We cannot transform a heart of stone into a heart of flesh. Only God can. We may scatter the seeds, but God provides the growth that will endure throughout one's life. Some people will reject the gospel right away, others will embrace the gospel for a while before walking away, and only a few will bear good fruits until the end (Matthew 13:3-8; Matthew 13:18-23). It's hard not knowing who will remain faithful until the end or not. It's hard knowing so many people will reject Him. And it is because we don't know whose hearts will be transformed or not, we must evangelize to all. As Charles Spurgeon said, "Rowland Hill, when he was asked to preach only to the elect, said that he would do so if somebody would chalk them on the back." Do keep in mind that not all who walk away will remain lost forever. As Martyn Lloyd-Jones said, "What is backsliding? A child of God being disobedient... He may do it to such an extent that if you just look at him at that point you'd say this man is not a Christian... How do you know if they are Christian? A backslider always comes back [to Christ]." Although we don't know who will or will not be saved, we must share His Word with everyone (Romans 10:14). In the end, whether people are used for “honor [or] dishonor” (Romans 9:21), may His name be glorified through it all.

Should we evangelize to the Jews first?
COMMENT: I’ve been asked about whether Paul was giving the church its instructions for evangelism in Romans 1:16, “to the Jew first…” Would it be right to purposely reach the Jewish community before going to Gentiles, or is this a misunderstanding of what this verse teaches? From your teaching, the Jerusalem-Judea-Samaria process of the Great Commission applies to the Gospel of the Kingdom. But…

I cannot express how jarring it was after being raised by a "Porn Addiction Coach" to get into a relationship with a woman and come face to face with the fact that she did actually want me to sexually desire her.
Like, in Evangelical Purity Culture, male desire was basically poison. It was a threat. It was this constant temptation that would destroy everything. And even after leaving, in the sort of queer, feminist spaces i spend most of my time in that wasn't something that pretty much anyone was spending time actively dissuading me from feeling.
But my desire is good. It's not something that I'm being accepted in spite of. It's a positive thing. It's a bonus. Not even just vanilla stuff, all the stuff I'd convinced myself were these weird terrible desires that were shameful to have.
It honestly took me over a decade to fully accept that. To stop dissociating during sex and confront that I was, in fact, being a massive perv and that was fantastic and preferable and that I could accept that into my self-image without shame or self hatred.
But it's important to do. It's important to leave relationships that don't welcome that part of you. To know that your sexuality is valuable and valid and worth owning and celebrating. Because the alternative is just...not being. Either existing as yourself and repressing the part of your identity that is sexual or allowing that sexuality to exist but turning off your self while it does.

just to be completely clear, the amount of military power and political influence Israel has has NOTHING to do with its settlers being Jewish. Israel is a force for American & European interests in the region and they're just doing what America does and allows/encourages its close allies to do.
war crimes aren't considered war crimes when someone America finds useful is doing them. european and american pushback against anyone criticizing Israeli apartheid & genocide is 100% because these crimes are useful to American & European hegemony.
Governments that are deeply antisemitic, like France, aren't suddenly caring about Jewish people. Jewish people, persecuted the world over, don't hold some kind of hegemonic power outside of Israel.
The state of Israel and its attendant brutal treatment of the locals are both incredibly useful to the US, and American hegemony means we're expected to celebrate both.
not bc they're Jewish. this isn't a break in the pattern of western antisemitism and it's not evidence that antisemitism doesn't exist.
it's just like how you could get fired for saying shit against the US war in Afghanistan when i was growing up. it is 100% about US military and political interests (ok slightly western europe too but lbr)

The Why Of CMCS Online
By Frank J Casella
Tumblr media
It has been a while since I wrote to you about the story of CMCS. So, as an installment to that, I'd like to take a short but important moment to share the why, or reason, behind CMCS being online as a supplement to our annual live Men's Forum events.
Because when we started out back in 2004, there was no plans or Internet to consider beyond the several events we did each year. However, once the digital world took off we saw the need to start our first blog in 2009 as a way to connect with men, and serve as a resource, between events.
Fast forward to 2023, today people don't access blogs or website's as much as they prefer information served to them through social media and email list newsletters. In fact, the two avenues of CMCS online is the email list as a distribution, and then social media as reciprocity.
In other words, similar to real life, communication is a two-way street when it comes to distributing information online, and reciprocity is the eternal principle at work in the digital world.
Most of you reading this subscribe by email to our distribution list, and are not following our social media channels. As with social media you might follow our posting content distributed on different platforms that you might be on, however with email you find in your inbox the information we send out distributed to whatever email provider you use. This is why it is said that email is the original social media.
If you're keeping our blog posts together in a folder, then you have your own personal resource inside your inbox - especially if you can use your search tool with your email folders! For those of you who don't, you can bookmark the email archive, as well as check the latest blog posts on the email service community page (though it glitches).
This way, you can follow blog posts as though you were subscribing to our social media channels.
On social media we share not only our blog posts, but content from around the web for the purpose of outreach, dialog and discussion among Catholic men. And we post mostly on the efficient alternative channels for anyone who attaches great importance to data integrity and the protection of privacy. Also, tech platforms evolve rapidly, as they change owners or business models, so we keep all our content in a storage archive to be flexible in case transition is needed.
As long as we have your email address then you will be able to (be notified where to) follow us wherever CMCS is online.
Presently we blog on Tumblr and a Tumblr side blog for sharing content. Likewise, a page on MeWe for blog posts, and a MeWe group for sharing content. And we post our videos on Brighteon because again for their privacy and welcoming content policies.
If you like my weekly Catholic Manhood Nuggets videos, one thing I am doing personally is posting them on CloutHub, which is an alternative to LinkedIn and more. The direct link to my video channel is - clouthub.com/c/fjcvideo
To bring this all full circle, the one place where you'll find what you might need is - cmcsmen.net - this is the point of entry for sharing CMCS with other men, that they in turn might discover what we all know as 'Living the Goodness of a Catholic Man'.
However, as we increasingly interact with others through technology, it is also important to be mindful of our digital footprint and the consequences our online activities may have. For Catholics, it is vitally important to develop a personal theology of the Internet, as well as to understand the Internet as a place where technology can be used to evangelize and minister to people. It is also important to be mindful of the ways technology can be used to harm and divide people.
As we become more connected online, we are able to support one another in our faith, and learn more about the Catholic Church and its teachings. However, while online resources can be helpful, there is no substitute for the real presence of the Holy Eucharist, for example, and there is no substitute for the connections made together at our Men's Forum experience.

Occupy
“…He called His ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” Luke 19:13KJV
Our text is cut from the center of a parable. How could I do such a thing? Because, I don’t believe this is ‘just’ a parable. I believe this is Jesus telling what He expects in the lives of His disciples, (if we’re born-again believers, we’re His disciples), until He returns.
The NKJV— “Do business till I come.” I also believe this has direct reference to people living in the “end times.” Let us consider the fact — it’s always been the “end times” since Jesus ascended into heaven until now. “This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11NLT
My parents drilled into, myself and siblings: — live your life as sinless as possible, fired up for Christ, exactly as if Jesus will be here in the next breath. (I didn’t try to heed their advice though). — do business, plan for the future, buy homes, have families, etc. just as if His return won’t be in this century — work for, make disciples as if Jesus will return here tomorrow… because no one is guaranteed tomorrow whether by death or Christ’s return.
Occupy has multiple meanings: Verb— to take or fill up (space, time, etc.): to engage or employ the mind, energy, or attention of: to be a resident or tenant of; dwell in: to take or hold possession: the act of possessing, or settling. ——(I believe the last meaning comes close to Jesus’s meaning in ‘doing business’) —— taking over, possessing, and settling. —— (Our military occupied Japan after WWII. They settled in Japan, represented Japan’s military, helped rebuild their economy. Too bad we didn’t teach them about Jesus.
Incorporating all the meanings of ‘occupy’ together, I believe Jesus told the servants in our text— Do business with the money given you; make more; take over the economy in your area. Teach unbelievers how to live, do business God’s way, and be righteous. Live in the land in such a way that the citizens around you will imitate you.
There’s another part to this parable. Luke 19:20-27 Jesus spoke about the servant who did nothing. He didn’t respect what the nobleman had told him to do. In the end, the nobleman, Verse22KJV “…He saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant…” V27NKJV “But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me.’” The servant was killed because of his refusal to do the work assigned him.
How many of us are working for our King, Jesus Christ? Are we getting so wrapped up in the end time teachings that we have stopped doing Kingdom work? I almost did. Yes, I almost became like the wicked servant. Teachings in churches were doing a lullaby Debbie on me. ‘You don’t need to do anything, because Jesus is coming soon.’
We must be careful. LORD God is instructing us to tell everyone who’s sitting down and waiting, and doing nothing— this is a satanic virus hitting the church especially hard right now; sent to keep us from God’s blessings. The Jesus Revolution of the 1960-1970’s was to many believers in those days, the end time move of God. Wrong, that was fifty plus years ago. Last days were being heralded in the 1980’s. Boy were they off.
Are we off? You better believe we are! If we’re not occupying, building the Kingdom of God and being about our Father’s business, we risk being cast out into utter darkness. Killed for being unfaithful. What will you do with the days we’re living in? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: LORD God, help us to work like we’re supposed to do, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

The call to evangelize
Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Even though He already separated those who will be saved from before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4), we don't know who they are. We are not exempt from the responsibility to preach to people (Romans 10:14).
We will try to win souls for Christ, it's our nature. Why should we want people to perish? Why would we want to be alone in heaven? As Charles Spurgeon said, "Do you want to go to heaven alone? I fear you will never go there. Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you are not saved yourself. Be sure of that.” The apostle Paul would often try to "win" souls for Christ (1 Corinthians 9:19-22), and we should too.
Although we tell of the Good News to others, remember this: we don't save anyone, God alone does. We cannot "force" someone to believe, no matter how hard we try, for God only draws those whom He wants to Himself (John 6:44). The elect (and that's how we're called in Scripture [Matthew 24:24; Luke 18:7; Titus 1:1; Romans 8:33; etc.]) will find their way to God if they are meant to be saved; not when we want to, but when He has appointed them to.
If everyone who would be saved was born with a big, visible, letter X somewhere on their body, then we could preach only to those and ignore everyone else. However, we don't know who the elect are, therefore, we must preach to everyone all the same and hope at least a few seeds land on good soil as we hear in the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:1-23; Mark 4:1-20; Luke 8:4-15).
God's election doesn't diminish our evangelistic role. Charles Spurgeon talked about how "Rowland Hill, when he was asked to preach only to the elect, said that he would do so if somebody would chalk them on the back." Since we cannot know who is saved or not, we must preach all the same to everyone.
Don’t hide your faith. Don’t keep the Good News only to you. As He told His disciples, so should we “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).
