Hi, Erica! I was wondering if I may request a Dick Grayson imagine where the Reader and him know each other from school, and while the Reader is at a soda shop or something Batman and Robin show up. They recognize his voice but is confused when they see Robin instead and Robin gets nervous because he can see them figuring it out. So maybe Batman has to intervene?
(A/N: Hehehehe. But also: gosh darn, time to put the pen to work because I don't shut up about fandom ideas. Hi!
Also: Ah, crap. It was supposed to be an imagine??? Uh, for now this imagine is complete. Might add a part 2 or something.)

"Soda For Your Thoughts" Dick Grayson x Reader
Tumblr media
On a weekday, the best time of day was after school. No question about it. The brain finally had a break from the hours worth of information intake.
The time between school's last bell and the start of homework was sacred. Short and full of possibilities. Anything could happen in Gotham City.
°.•*
Speeding down the open road into the city was more than business, it was important to the citizens. Arriving to a local soda shop for clues was top priority. The Penguin was up to his foul deeds again.
Without knowing what the tricky bird was up to, the dynamic duo were on their way to find out just that.
Time was ticking, but Robin always had faith that he and Batman could figure it out.
°.•*
You were due for free time. It was only fair. Most of your mornings were spent leaning over a desk with a pencil in hand. Not much choice in that.
Sipping a cold soda did just the trick. It also gave you moments to process your day. The sweetness seeming to light up your day.
"Looks like there are plenty of eyes here." A familiar voice grasped your attention.
Dick Grayson, you thought. A smile pulled at your lips before you fully looked towards the entrance in search of the well-dressed student.
Your excitement upon expecting the boy from class dropped. Who you saw instead was the famed Batman and Robin. The pair stepped with purpose.
What? But I heard him.
How could it be? Were you mistaken?
Your shoulders slumped.
The owner of the soda shop met the caped heroes in a poorly hushed tone. Not that you could blame him. The Penguin had visited not too long ago, but not for a tasty beverage.
Good thing there was no ill intent given to any of the customers, you included.
"Hmm." You grabbed for your drink again, but his voice interrupted.
"Excuse me." Robin walked up to you. "Did you see the Penguin when...he...." He swallowed.
Curiosity had struck you. Not only was the young hero's voice familiar, but his masked face was strikingly like someone you knew. Not a face one passed in the halls. Not brown hair combed just so by anyone.
"Uh." Robin stood still. Watching you study him unabashed.
Blue eyes decorated by black. Intelligent eyes you'd seen before. Ones you would never forget in a hundred years.
"Batman." He said and nothing more. Pivoting on the floor, yellow cape swishing.
The called caped crusader turned and walked over to the younger man. "What is it, Robin?"
You blinked, head tilted sightly.
His eyes, you thought. Those were the same wide eyes looking at me when I said I aced the pop quiz last week.
°.•*
Holy flipping stomachs, Robin thought. His eyes trying to focus on anything else in the shop as he pretended not to notice. Trying his best to act professional. To be Robin not Richard Grayson.
What such luck did he have?
Rotten luck.
Your gaze burned into the side of his cranium even as Batman asked you for any useful information. No doubt you had some.
In school you were always attentive and observant. That surely meant you would be helpful with the new case, but the way you looked at him...as if his mask was barely on his face.
You talked, but Robin couldn't make out your words between the sounds in the shop and his mind. White noise of panic.
Holy multitasker, he thought as he chanced a quick glance over his shoulder. Rubbing his gloved fist, he couldn't help his anxiety.
What if you knew?
A light clap to his shoulder and Robin flinched.
"Easy there, old chum." Batman chuckled. "We might just have our next clue."
"That's great." His words closer to a murmur.
"Everything alright?"
Blinking and hitting his opened palm with his fist, Robin bounced back. "We have a lead. Let's go." Without delay, the young man scurried out of the shop.
Relief hit him as soon as he was in open air. Making a quick jump into the Batmobile was easy. The look Batman set him with, not so much.
"What is it, Batman?"
"You couldn't talk to your schoolmate. How come? You've done it before."
"Not with them," Robin said much too quickly. "I--they just... I felt like they saw me. No mask--no anything!"
"Easy, Robin. I saw it too. We'll have to come up with something if they question you."
Groaning, Robin slouched in his seat.
"But for now." He buckled his seatbelt. "We have a Penguin to capture."
"Right!"

To the anon who said it's not Bobby and Athena... the promo poster of the emergency includes a hand, actually it's Athena's hand (someone has already done the comparison and if pics could be added to this ask, it would be included).
Anyway, as far as the other anon who commented the cruise disaster is ridiculous, please consider the reality of where the show ended last season. Let's be real here, it didn't end well, everything was rushed and none of it was as good as it should have been. Especially after the crap emergencies that were included during the season, a cruise disaster is needed to make the show interesting again. Also, the promos have heavily featured AB which hasn't happened in a while.
ABC is trying to get people to watch the show because they're competing against a sitcom on CBS that draws 7 million viewers per episode and Law & Order Thursdays on NBC that has a strong following with two of the three shows (the reboot of the original and SVU) carrying 4.5 to 5 million viewers per episode (these are live numbers and they don't include streaming). 9-1-1's live numbers in season 6 tittered around 4.7 million (except for Tomorrow and Cursed that exceeded 5 million) in the beginning but dropped to 4.2 or lower by the end of the season.
While Buck being struck by lightning was interesting, reminder, it was shoved into the end of the episode after the audience was forced to watch more than 20 minutes of the Buckley parents, Chimney's dad and Albert's mom🙄. IMHO, it was not on the same scale as the opening earthquake from season 2, the Tsunami from season 3 or even some of the one episode emergencies that were included like the train wreck at the end of season 3 or the multi car pileup in season 4.
If the show doesn't do something interesting, why would people in the general audience tune in to watch it? 🤔 Contrary to popular belief, most viewers watch the show for the emergencies not the ships (no pun intended).
9-1-1 is different because they take risks with disasters so a cruise ship emergency is not only needed, it will be interesting if it involves Athena and Bobby because that BS from season 5 with the animals and the hackers and that ridiculous blimp emergency from season 6 was even worse.
At the end of the day, ABC is a business and they're about making money so they added an expensive show to their roster and they plan to make a profit off it so they can pay their shareholders.
Thanks for your introspective of the season 7 promo and what it’s likely to be about.

So I just finished Demonology!! That was the most intense and at times scariest fic I’ve ever read! I definitely enjoyed it. Left a huge comment on it.
OMG yay!!!!
I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. I read your review while I was at work and nearly teared up. I liked how you broke it down by chapter in one long review. I felt as though I was on that journey with you!

hi!! i really love your bsd fics on ao3. ive been rereading the fireflies in the dark series and i was curious if it’ll even venture into kyouka’s time in the armed detective agency? mostly bc the image of her defending chuuya against the ada members warms my heart haha + dazai’s reaction to it is intriguing.
Hello!!
Thank you! That means a lot because that series is near and dear to my heart.
I plan to get to Kyouka in the ADA at some point, however I write linearly and I'm currently stuck :(
I will get to it! I'm just slow

Thank you for writing Growing Strong. It's been a while since I've been so invested in a story! When you outline your stories, do you see the plot easily in your mind or do you need to brainstorm a lot? I ask because I need to write down so many ideas before one really click.
Of course!!! I am glad to hear that people are enjoying it. Growing Strong and the series I plan for it (I have outlines for Petyr being a member of each Nobel house) is something I very much am enjoying crafting.
When I outline my stories, I typically know how it begins and how it ends. The outlining process to basically to get me to that end game. There is a good amount of brain storming that goes into it but once I am working on the outline, I've passed that stage. I basically go through four "stages" of creating a story.
I. Plot bunny: the general idea forming about a story
II. Brainstorm: coming up with ideas and the plot of what the fic would include.
III. Writing and working on the outline.
IIII. Actually writing said fic.
I hope this helps?

That one part in the pop version (JUMP 5?) of Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride when it builds up and it's the drums or whatever. That. That sound.
Finishing a project (writing or art) that I'm actually proud of and like.
The sound of dalmatian puppies' little bark that's like: yeaAahp yuhhp (think live action 101 Dalmatians from the 90s) So cute! 🥰

Do you think Sue Sinclair got Erica Queen Latifah's 1989 album "All Hail the Queen" and do you think Erica and Tina spent a week listening to it non stop and memorizing the words to Ladies First and do you think they used hair brushes for mics and danced around Erica's room and do you think Erica got to still be a silly kid despite what she's been through

In you opinion, what would have happened if dustin and erica were captured by the russians alongside steve and robin?
To begin with, I think Steve essentially offers himself up immediately, trying to claim that the other three don’t know anything. Thing is, Dustin would also immediately start loudly protesting, so it would just be a mix of shouting until they’re separated.
They’re interrogated separately at first. Erica is a kid, so they’re not too interested in her — mainly, they’re trying to get answers by talking to her like she’s five, which… doesn’t work. Erica’s loud and cocky, talks back to them like they’re dumb, but she doesn’t really realise the extent of the situation until the screaming starts.
Dustin is in a similar boat, but old enough for them to not treat him like he’s stupid. He’s being loud and uncooperative too, and he intends to stay that way, until…
Well, until he hears what’s happening to Steve and Robin.
Because when Steve and Robin were captured, alone, they were hopeful that Dustin and Erica got out. That was enough for them. They figured they’d die down there, but at least Erica and Dustin would be safe.
In a scenario where Erica and Dustin got captured with them, though? That’s out the window. They’re not cooperative. They don’t care what happens to themselves, all they care about is ensuring Erica and Dustin’s safeties.
Steve is tortured, same as in the show, and the Russians don’t believe him when he says it was just him, that it was an accident. He hangs on as long as he can, trying to convince them that the other three were just dragged along for the ride.
Robin’s doing the exact same thing. So, there are conflicting stories already. Because Robin’s trying to bring the blame onto herself, saying she was bored at work and cracked their code, it was her, the other three are just her coworker and some kids he babysits who got stuck with her. Remember in the show how she was uncooperative with them, calling them bastards and spitting at them, up until the point where they start trying to pull Steve’s fingernails? If Dustin and Erica are involved, she’s in that mentality from the beginning.
Dustin and Erica are mainly left alone, all in all, but their captors have made it so that they’re able to hear both Steve and Robin getting tortured. That’s the catch for them. If they tell the truth, their friends don’t need to get hurt, yes?
(It’s also at this point that both Dustin and Erica realise they’re in over their heads. Neither will admit it, but they’re both terrified.)
Robin and Steve, I think, would then be interrogated together, because their stories aren’t aligning and both have taken blame, and the intent is that if they see how beaten up the other is then maybe they’ll crack. They kinda do, they kinda don’t. Steve once again tries to pull the blame to him, and I think Robin would get desperate and start shouting that it was obviously her, he’s just her stupid coworker, he wouldn’t understand a code at all, let alone crack it.
Because in both their respective minds, they’re at fault. Robin cracked the code, so she thinks she dragged them all into this. Steve let Dustin try and crack the code to begin with instead of brushing it off, so he thinks he dragged them all into this. And I think there’s this mutual understanding of let me take this, let me save you. Steve knows that Robin doesn’t know anything about the Upside Down, so she has no idea of that danger, but Robin not knowing about that is half the reason she’s so desperate to take the blame. She has no idea that there’s more to it than the cracking of the code.
Ultimately, I think they’d believe Robin. She’s a convincing liar, for one, and for two, Steve hadn’t mentioned the code once. He’d stuck to the ice cream job, where Robin had stuck to being bored and deciphering a code for fun.
So Steve gets shut up in a room with Dustin and Erica, who have had no idea what’s been happening for hours, and Dustin sees the state of his face and freaks. Steve’s frantic because he needs to get them out of there and save Robin, and he’s terrified because he knew what they did to him already, and he knew she’d already been hurt.
I think Steve, Dustin and Erica would manage to break out of their room and make a run for it, starting the subplot of Dustin and Erica’s rescue from the show. Dustin and Steve fill Erica in on things and find the cattle prod and green goo etc etc.
The three of them use it as a distraction and are able to break out Robin, same way Dustin and Erica do in the show. I think Robin would’ve been drugged, but she’d have been alone instead of drugged with Steve. Steve would’ve gotten into a fight with the doctor and Dustin would’ve still jabbed the doctor with the cattle prod (and killed him).
From there, things would mostly play out the same way except it’s only Robin that’s loopy on drugs, with Steve taking charge of the situation. I also think Steve would’ve scooped up Robin to run rather than tug her along by her wrist (since he’s obviously stronger than Dustin and Erica) which would’ve made Robin complain but she wouldn’t fight it. I do think she’d make some comment about “Tammy would be soooo mad at me… she might TALK to me…” while giggling, but the other three aren’t really paying attention to what she’s saying because she’s clearly out of it.
Steve would refute them hiding in the cinema, so I think the four of them would go with Dustin to try and get the radio to work. Robin keeps complaining that she’s thirsty so Steve takes her to get some water while Dustin and Erica try to reach the others.
The bathroom confession wouldn’t happen right then (because Steve hasn’t been drugged) so I think Robin would still dash to the bathroom to throw up and Steve would wait outside the stall (doesn’t want to leave her unattended).
Everything after that would play out the same as the show, minus Steve giving away Dustin’s name etc.
In this scenario I think Robin would come out to him after everything, either that night or sometime over the next few days, because Steve wouldn’t have confessed to being in love with her in the bathroom. Maybe they get drunk together after Starcourt, maybe they have a bathroom confession in the Harrington house. She’d come out to him before the s3 epilogue for sure though.
Sorry, this is probably a much longer answer than you were expecting, but this was fun to think about!

Can I ask for the super skilled fighter Reader from the last request to invite Eragon for a sparing match after they defeated everyone? Almost like an end-boss situation XD.
Ooo if you need song inspiration you could go with super massive black hole by muse!
“Sparring Fool” Eragon x Reader
(A/N: Hi! The way I practically shrieked while reading Super Massive Black Hole was hilarious. That song takes me back…closer to when I was reading Brisingr, maybe earlier. So thank you. Also…I did not specify this being Modern! Reader. Plus at this point, I don’t know if this is an Eragon insert reader or an Eragon Reaction. Warnings: Me writing to that song! Lol Mentions of fighting. Ancient Language for Dragon Rider and friend used. Word Count: 972 words)
Eragon had learned much in his life, especially after leaving home. What he had witnessed between you and the warriors on Mount Arngor gave him a fast course in learning your opponent while fighting. Sure, he had only visuals to rely on, but he was still greatly impressed.
They bested everyone they sparred with. Eragon watched as you sipped from a cup of water. Who trained them?
Steady in an oncoming stream of thoughts and images of your movements, the leader of the mountain forgotten where his gaze landed. Deep in analysis and questions kept even his sight preoccupied for the better part of your rest period.
“Thinking of a puzzle?” You asked with a small smirk.
Eragon composed himself. “In a way, yes.”
Humming in acknowledgement, you nodded.
“You’ve very skilled in your fighting.”
“I do my best.”
“Your best is impressive,” he added.
“Thank you, but there are others more skilled than I.”
He smiled.
Your attitude only made Eragon more interested, curious.
“Would you like to spar with me?” You asked, stretching.
Straightening his back, he paused for only a moment. Long enough for Saphira to encourage the activity.
“I would.”
Standing up, you inquired, “Weapons or no weapons, Shur’tugal? Your choice.”
An easy decision for the Dragon Rider. One he was most confident in succeeding.
“Sword.”
Your smile mirrored his own and his stomach fluttered for a second.
Let us see how this turns out. He thought as he felt Saphira’s amusement.
You picked up two swords, ones already magically altered to prevent severe damage to oneself and the swords themselves.
Have fun, little one.
Eragon met you in the middle of a clear area. He took the weapon you offered graciously before taking a few paces backwards. A preferred distance for the start of the spar.
Taking a ready stance gave Eragon a sense of calm confidence.
There was no danger.
There were no enemies.
It was another practice in skill.
You made the first move.
If only Eragon hadn’t let his confidence in a sword-fight and his observation of your skills lead him into a false sense of victory. For when his confidence hit a peak, you used it against him.
Retreating to the left, the Dragon Rider let out a soft groan.
That kick hurt, Eragon thought in some attempt to warn himself of any more light damage. They are good. He repositioned the sword.
Years ago he was changed by the dragons. He had greater speed and senses. He knew this.
Yet Eragon very well could had been taking his first few lessons of fighting all over again.
He had been anticipating specific moves from you. All that time spent watching and you had the advantage.
“Are you watching, Shur’tugal?” Your voice snickered towards the end of your question.
Warmth coated his skin to which he hoped was unnoticeable.
They are playing with you.
I know, Eragon replied to Saphira.
It came time to change tactics. To be as unpredictable as possible or almost unlike himself became his strategy.
Eragon charged forward. If he could no longer land a hit then he desperately needed to disarm you. Anything before you bested him completely.
How would it look if you won against everyone and him?
If he set aside his pride, it would look amazing. A skilled warrior who could adapt to their opponent and win was a great addition to have amongst others.
For the most part, you twisted away from Eragon’s swing. Keeping some momentum allowed him to hit your leg. Enough to cause you to stumble.
The surprise in your eyes added to his confidence of his altered strategy. He would need to be careful.
“Are you watching, fricai?” Asked Eragon with a smirk. His bent his knees and looked for another opportunity.
Rolling back your shoulders, you answered, “Closer than you think.”
Swings, dodges, hits, and words were exchanged for a while longer. Limbs aching and sweat noticeable. You both continued.
Close, he thought as he used his blade to push yours further away.
You were left open.
He swung down, however before impact you kneed his side. A little too close to his rear.
Sending you a disapproving frown lasted a second.
Swords locked between the pair of you.
Eragon had never been that close to you before.
“Pouting again, Shur’tugal?” You panted.
“No. Tired, fricai?”
“Not yet.”
Muscles flexing, Eragon added weight to the point of contact. He watched the two blades lean towards you. There was no need for enhanced hearing for him to know you were trying to even out your breathing.
If he could tire you, perhaps he could win the sparring match. There were no tricks to truly fend off exhaustion.
“Do you always…stare at someone’s lips when fighting?” You huffed.
Eragon’s eyebrows rose.
What? I don’t—
A flicker of change, a thought, in your eyes and you kicked one of his legs out from under him. With his weight focused foward, the Dragon Rider knew his mistake.
Pivoting to his side, you gave a shove onto his back.
Down Eragon went. Catching himself on one knee saved some of his dignity.
Not much could be said about his pride as a while as he felt the cold blade of the sword across the back of his neck. Nor did the Dragon Rider know what to say while your fingers pressed down on one of his shoulder blades.
Eragon Shadeslayer had lost.
After aiding him in standing and Eragon complimenting you, tension died away.
“Best two out of three?” You smiled playfully.
Laughing, Eragon replied, “Perhaps another time.”
“I think I owe you a drink.”
“It would be very appreciated.” He smiled and added. “Then perhaps you could tell me how you beat me?”
It was your turn to laugh, “Perhaps, Shur’tugal, perhaps.”

I'm going to be honest when S7 comes out and rating are low like the final I'm going to be pissed why can't we just enjoy the show? Do I want buddie to happen? Yes but that doesn't mean I rate the show so dangerously low where we don't get a season 8 also it hurts the cast they will lose their jobs oliver already struggles with being an actor if it wasn't for 9-1-1 he would have listened to his manager and gone back to England people in this fandom need to think before they act
Thanks anon for your ask. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. I’m not sure if renewing comes only down to ratings (then yes). I wonder if there’s other things that come into play? Either way I’m super excited for Season 7 and whatever we get from this point on. I have faith in ABC.
I’m still on the BuddieIsGoingCanon2023 clown Train.
Anyone want to jump in with me for the most fun ride of your life…
I can still win if it happens by mid season 7.

I've read the first chapter and loved it! :D This is so creative and the first encounter between P & S was *chef kiss*. Like in Boden's Mate all the political intrigue happening in the background and coming to the surface to raise the stakes is fascinating. So excited to read more :D
Yay!!! Thank you. I am so happy that you enjoyed it.
Yes there is a ton of political intrigues happening and it will follow the show/books to a certain degree. I hope you continue to read and enjoy it!
