The way everything catches up to Luke when he hears Annabeth's voice, you can see his heart breaking in his eyes. His kid sister, the girl whose team he's always on, who idolizes him and adores him completely is looking at him like he's a monster. And that might the be most heartbreaking thing yet.

A thought
Okay last post of the night, then i'm finally going to bed.
Spoilers
A wounded and unraveling Alastor in his radio tower...
Tumblr media
I don't think this bodes well. Partially, his line of "Great Alastor, altruist, nearly died for his friends." Because he was rather collective before then he sing that line and he started to unravel. The sheer concept of that line is ludicrous to him, yet it nearly happen.
One: He walks around like hes untouchable but he cruelly force to realize his own mortality.
Two: I think he realized that he actually starting to care beyond superficial. That the people at the hotel became his friends. Its unbecoming to a demon like him. He doesn't want to care or befriend them meaningfully. He nearly fucken died, and for what? Them? Their friendship made him weak and I think that's what making him distraught.
In the next part of his song about wanting freedom and trying to find a loophole in his contract. So, I think he is in fact, commanded to watchover the hotel. A command that nearly got him killed. a command Alastor cant get away of the things that's making him go soft.
This man barely keeping it together at this point.
I have to rewatch it to see solidify this opinion but that was my first take.

every look troy baker (as james) sent david was so incredibly well acted. you knew exactly what he was thinking as soon as he saw david lay his eyes on ellie for the first time. you saw it again when he left him with her in the battered cabin, and when he carried her off back to their resort. he knew exactly what was going to happen but he didn’t know how to get out of it without him being murdered for it. we saw james go to shoot ellie, and i doubt it was for vengeance, he would’ve been saving her. and he knew that david didn’t care for him, we saw that once ellie murdered him, david didn’t give james a second thought because ellie was his priority. just phenomenal.

I’m tired of some people spitting shit about the Adam v. Alastor fight
Yes, Alastor got cocky and had his ass handed to him.
HOWEVER: WE REALIZE HE TOOK AN ANGELIC WEAPON TO THE CHEST AND SURVIVED????
Demons die to Vaggie’s SPEAR, simply because of the nature of the weapon. We see angels and demons dying throughout episode 8 to these badass weapons.
And Alastor TOOK it. He got nailed directly in the chest, and yeah, suffered at very least a punctured lung or something (he was bleeding a LOT), and while he couldn’t physically get up, he got away.
Tumblr media
Like, I’m sorry he wasn’t perfect in that battle??? It was super satisfying at first to see him go to town on Adam, but after the fuck up, he LIVED. He got AWAY.
I don’t know a single demon else that was hit by the axe that episode that lived. Alastor is not infallible, yes, I know this, but Jesus Christ y’all, give him credit for probably being the first demon EVER to survive that.

Thinking about colin's misogynistic comment and how homophobia and misogyny fuel each other and feed off each other and how they're so intrinsically connected and how a gay man crossed a line and made what he thought was a throwaway joke as a way to deflect from his queerness but still participated in the harmful culture that most greatly affected a queer woman who has been a victim of said culture since she was 15 and how it directly lead to him being discovered by his best friend who has made homophobic jokes in the past and ughghghhhhh

OK to the heartless demons who have asked why the “baby girl” scene in The Last of Us has destroyed me. (I’m being cheeky about heartless demons, but seriously, I’m flummoxed over this.)
This is the first time in Ellie’s life that she has someone who truly loves her. Someone who cares enough to risk their own life, they will gladly kill to protect her. And not because she is the potential golden child who holds the cure to the cordyceps infection, but because they LOVE HER. She means that much to them. They know that being forced to endure life without her would be a torture they’re not willing to accept.
The look in her eyes when David told her she has no father… the pain was palpable (God bless Bella Ramsey). We know she’s terrified of ending up alone. We know that everyone she has ever cared for has left her one way or another. She’s been alone her whole life and it’s the one thing she does not want to be.
She loves Joel, and he is one-hundred percent her father figure, but they’re both so guarded in protection of themselves. The pain and loss each has endured too profound to allow them to be vulnerable. But where Ellie has built an outer-layer to protect herself, Joel has built a fortress and fortified that fucker so no one can get in. We’ve been watching their defenses fall each week, but the last two episodes has shown us just how much they’re willing to do to save the other.
David’s sadistic words and demonic actions have put poor Ellie through living hell. Then she emerges into a cold, unfamiliar wilderness… alone. She’s lost and traumatized. This BADASS girl is as close to broken as we have ever seen her. Then, Joel appears, and until she realizes it is him, she is horrified.
Now, the look in Joel’s eyes (God bless Pedro Pascal). The horror, the pain, the guilt that he couldn’t protect her. Seeing her broken breaks him, but the relief at finding her. The man is overwhelmed, but instead of retreating, he gives in. He holds her, comforts her, he lets the feelings wash over him and she feels SAFE.
“It’s OK, baby girl. I got you.”
She’s loved and protected for the first time in her life. Joel has not uttered the words baby girl, nor experienced that level of affection since he lost Sarah twenty years before. He has surrendered. He loves her. She has surrendered, she’s accepting his love. Then, both wounded in every way, they stumble off to face the unknown together.
HOW ISN’T EVERYONE IN THE FETAL POSITION BAWLING? I should have had my therapist on speed dial.
