In moments of self-doubt, when uncertainty clouds my mind, I remind myself of the way you look at me. In your eyes, I find a reflection of my true worth. In your gaze, I discover a truth that surpasses any doubt, With every glance, your eyes convey a deep belief in my worth, making me ask myself:
how could I question my worth when, in this vast world teeming with billions, you singled me out from the crowd?
How can I ever believe myself to be an ordinary soul, when out of billions of hearts, it was my heart that resonated with yours?

I’m a person with depth!
Not a shallow feeling that a cigarette gives,I can stand still in a storm,I can drink lava instead of water to live.My eyes are empty well, heart in blues,It’s the reason you see rain,But never see me lose,I ain’t running anymore, I ain’t hiding my sins,I ain’t dying anymore, Neither I’m living a bit.My heart doesn’t beat anymore, My eyes do not cry,My lips do not speak…
And again, another poem in English about Greek Muses. This time, I praise Urania, Muse of Astronomy and my preferred Muse. I love studying Astronomy in general (didn't go to college because I needed to work and it's a full-time course in Brazil), and I just can't simply not writing about Her. #lucavalheiro #authorialpoetry #englishpoetry #lgbtauthor #greekmythology #ancientgreece #muses #urania Image credit: Jean Louis Tocqué, "Allegoric portrait of Urania, Muse of Astronomy", 18th century, public domain. --- Urania Lu Cavalheiro (@lu.cicerone.cavalheiro) Licença CC-BY-SA 4.0 Internacional How wonderful are those stars of yours Ethereal souls shining from true past None of them meant to for eternity last Painting the dark void with many colours No words can describe the magic hours I have spent babbling about that cast Although they were gone way too fast Leaving in my memory their celestial tours Urania, my majestic Muse of Astronomy Hear my call on all those dark nights Teach me your secrets about authonomy For Yours truly is a beautiful, rare sight You share to us mortals with parcimony Making our petty lives a little more bright (em Olavo Bilac, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp7wioJrhLh/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
trapped in a cycle, soul without title
floating in space, missing its face.
piles of papers, windows of neighbors,
rooms of unopen drapes, mind of (un)spoken mistakes.
darkness filling you whole, lost in the eyes of black charcoal.
staring eyes into eyes, face to face,
getting lost in that unknown maze.
lips on the lips, kiss - kiss! - on thy skin,
breath marked with tonic and gin.
dirt behind nails, ten fingers - red-stained,
mouth with cherry-red lipstick obtained.
the unspoken love, intimate, beloved,
memories stay blurry, but the letter says “yours, truly”.
the cold statues - dark, beautiful, yet still,
candle flickers with the movement of the quill.
the light dies with a single drop of rain,
the vision blackens as rose petals in vain.
suddenly - that rotten feeling, all strong and consuming,
how obsessed you are (not) to keep it all in.
the cold prickles, even pinches the porcelain silk
caused by pure snowflakes coloured with milk.
mask hides the truth, gloves possible warmth,
though there is charm, we cannot ignore the harm.
they danced with words, got close with records,
but now, the black swan has fallen as its heart has been stolen.
