The Marvels "Introducing The Marvels" Featurette
The cast and crew of The Marvels give a behind-the-scenes peek at the upcoming film.
“Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as ‘The Marvels.’“ (Marvel Comics)
The Marvels stars Brie Larson (Captain Marvel / Carol Danvers), Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau), Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel / Kamala Khan), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-joon. Nia DaCosta directs from a screenplay by Megan McDonnell, Nia DaCosta, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells.
The Marvels releases to theaters on November 10, 2023.

People keep saying that Marvel fell off, but we personally don’t agree. There are plenty of great things to find in The Marvels, the latest addition to the MCU. We would love to be invited to the Carol/Monica/Kamala sleepover! Check out our review to hear our thoughts on The Marvels as well as the current state of the MCU and its fandom.

Movies watched in 2024
The Marvels (2023, USA)
Director: Nia DaCosta
Writers: Nia DaCosta, Megan McDonnell & Elissa Karasik (based on the Marvel comics)
Mini-review:
I'm honestly surprised this movie received so much hate, cause it's fun in a way MCU films haven't been in years. Like, it's genuinely laugh-out-loud funny. The three leads have fantastic chemistry, and the story packs some of the most original and riotous things I've seen in a Marvel movie (like the Aladna scenes or the cats). On top of that, the film is only 100-minute long, so it gets straight to the point, and it never feels the need to include filler content. My biggest complaint is that the CGI is pretty mediocre, and even downright ugly at times (although I know the VFX team did their best to comply with the studio's crazy demands). But yeah, I enjoyed The Marvels way more than I expected. While it's flawed for sure, it also brought me back to when Marvel movies were just pure fun.

The Marvels (12): A Marvel that cat-lovers in particular will enjoy.
#onemannsmovies #filmreview of "The Marvels". #TheMarvels. Frenetic, funny Marvel film that sometimes loses the plot. 3.5/5.
A One Mann’s Movies review of “The Marvels” (2023). “The Marvels” seems to have crept into cinemas with relatively little fanfare for a $250 million film. As if Marvel seem a bit embarrassed about it and have already filed it in the “failure” bucket. But this feels more than premature, since the characters here have a lot of appeal, particularly with the proportion of the audience that can…

No matter the state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this particular movie would have had to face a particular kind of hate – if not an uphill battle – that started with Captain Marvel and was sustained by the MCU TV Series: Ms. Marvel that was bashed online or She-Hulk. Let’s not forget the unfortunate movie outings like Quantumania, or the even worse Love & Thunder. Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris…

Stephen, a movie made for women, with a mostly female cast, with a very female slant, you know like musical interludes and space kittens fails its because of adolescent fanboy hate. You know, 'Yuck! GIRLS!'" It is because, the movies target demographic is in the Taylor Swift Eras Tour Experience. It's about your target demographic not wanting to see it because they are not sold on the fantasy. Not boys and men fanboy hating. If the story is compelling, the acting great, and the action off the charts boys and men will watch paint dry. This movie makes re-runs of paint drying better viewing. Let's not forget that Marvel/Disney is more concerned with slinging out movies and shows one after another OVER compelling stories. This is movie two and we still know shit about Captain Marvel. Most people who have seen the movies don't even know that Carol Danvers is the 7th Captain Marvel, the Kree Captain Mar-Vel being the first. There has never been any character development, no real back story, she just is and the audience is expected to buy into that blunt character arc. That horrendous Ghost Busters movie did much the same thing, the exception there is they hoped on fans extrapolating the back story from the previous male portrayals and applying that to the female cast, that failed also. Movies like Hanna (2011), Daughter of the Wolf 2019), The Quick and The Dead (1995), and most of the Alien franchise comes to mind when I think of good female movies. I know there are many more that I love but just can't think of. Ultraviolet (2006) The point is, blaming men for the failure of Nia DaCosta, Megan McDonnell and Elissa Karasik writing, Nin DaCosta's directing and honestly the flat acting of Brie Larson just isn't good enough to drive anyone to the theaters. And yes I have seen it, No I did not pay for it, thank you 123mivies for saving me from paying for it. You know, my fanboy hating and all.
