Singer Doomed
Fëanáro, Elemmírë recalled, had a sweet voice. He could have made a passable singer and surely a quick-fingered harper, if he had been inclined to exert himself to music beyond the most rudimentary, toddling lessons. His second son was something else altogether.
“Makalaurë,” the instructor said, “play Mingling Light for our visitor.”
Elemmírë would have picked out the boy from the other students even without this blunt introduction: a small creature with Fëanáro’s bright-dark eyes and curls he tugged quickly into a knot with ink-blotted hands. He settled at a harp that was bigger than he was with precise care and only then looked back to his teacher and to Elemmírë, upon which his big eyes widened.
Elemmírë supposed he had been in attendance at one of her performances. She gave him a smile the way one might extend a nosegay of flowers. Makalaurë blushed darkly and sat a little straighter.
“Shall I begin?”
Maglor & Elemmírë over the years, background messy Maedhros/Maglor and other feelings for day 1 of @maedhrosmaglorweek, Treelight! Or, Maglor gains his reputation in Valinor. | Read here on AO3

❅ Prompt: Songs & Carols & workplace rivals (rare pair bingo) | Maglor x Elemmírë ❅ Synopsis: While Elemmírë is waiting for perform at a feast, she watches Maglor ❅ Warnings: / ❅ Drabble
» AN: I blame @elanna-elrondiel and @merilles for this (lovingly).
Tumblr media
A great feast has been ordained, and Elemmírë will sing for her people.
She prepared and practised for months, proud of her progress and certain of her success. This moment no one will take from her.
Prince Makalaurë performs as well, and Elemmírë watches and listens. His voice is lovely, his fingers gracefully pluck the strings of his harp.
When he's done, she claps.
When it's her turn, she walks past him with a smile.
Makalaurë's eyes are on her, and Elemmírë relishes in it, though she doesn't look back.
Not yet. Not before she has proven herself as well.

Same Name, Different Ages.
Two Aredhels in different stories.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aredhel Ar-Feiniel (Irissë)
"...she was fearless and hardy of heart, as were all the children of Finwë" ― Quenta Silmarillion, "Of Maeglin"
Aredhel, also called Ar-Feiniel or the White Lady of the Noldor, was the third child and only daughter of Fingolfin, High King of the Noldor, and Anairë who herself was also a Noldo. Her elder brothers were Fingon and Turgon, and her youngest brother was Argon. Much later in Beleriand, she became the mother of Maeglin, whose father was Eöl, "the Dark Elf".
Aredhel was tall and strong, fond of hunting and riding in the forests. Her skin was pale and her hair dark; she always wore silver and white. She was fond of the sons of Fëanor, especially Celegorm and Curufin.
Arelle Ar-Luinuen (Aredhel The Noble Blue Maiden; Aiarmaiue)
"...And Arelle Ar-Luinuen, a hushed awe fell over the gathered family members. Dressed in a beautiful robe with the hues of the morning sky. Dark brown with the silver highlights were her wavy braided hair, and her eyes sparkled like the seawater reflected under the sun." —The Elemmírion, Sinyatuilë (Draft)
Arelle Ar-Luinuen, named after the renowned Aredhel Ar-Feiniel, emerges as one of the characterd appeared in "The Elemmírion". Born on either 27 March 1991, her heritage weaves together the noble lineage of Elves and the mortal roots of humanity—25/32 Elf (Falmarin) and 7/32 Human.
She was proficient as a young markswoman by wielding a rifle, also her calling extends beyond the Seventh Age as she embraces the role of a healer. Her compassionate nature and innate understanding of both Elven and human anatomy make her a formidable force in mending wounds and ailments.
Brief Background: Arelle is the eldest daughter of Aiardil Alatarāto Oiolótë, a prominent Lord of the Valinorean Teleri and the current scion of the Great House of Olwë via the Off-branch House of Oiolótë, and Alcaro Tomislav Brković, son of a Peredhel Elanor II Artanárë who was sorted into Slytherin.
Etymology: The name "Arelle Ar-Luinuen" is a Telerin cognate of the Sindarin name meaning "Aredhel, the Noble Blue Maiden."

I just made this edit and...I really like them together. They could've been a cute couple had Fëanor and his shenanigans not gotten in the way. Alas, it was not to be. I'll definitely write one-shots about them though. Someday. Don't expect them to drop them anytime soon. 😂😊
I was thinking of a ship name for them...Eömírë?

Ok so I’m rotating ideas about elves and mythology and decided to drop some ramblings in your ask box because of all the wonderful theatre-related thoughts you’ve been sharing!! The thing is that the silm is a mythology right. Like it’s written in that style, and the heroes of LoTR and the later Ages in general are always explicitly looking back to the stories of the First Age (see: Aragorn wanting to cosplay Beren and Lúthien with Arwen). But what were the myths, the cultural stories, of the Elves of the First Age? In Tirion what were the stories that Maglor might write a play retelling or subverting, that Elemmírë might make a new song about, that Míriel might have woven into a tapestry? All cultures have ancient myths – but these characters are a) living at the very dawn of the world, and b) are all going to become mythological figures themselves! It makes me a bit insane. My thoughts are that they told a lot of stories about the war the Valar made on Melkor, and also about Cuivienen and the awakening of the elves, but honestly I don’t KNOW. What do you think? (No pressure to answer this is very random I realise) ❤️❤️
NO I love these thoughts!!! My thoughts generally go along the same vein as yours in terms of the general themes of elven myths. Here are some possibilities I imagine:
Whichever continent the elves in question are not seeing is often the center of the stories. The Sindar and Avari in middle-earth myth-make a lot about the lands in the west; the Eldar in Valinor myth-make about middle-earth. Since we're talking about Elemmírë, Míriel, and Maglor I'll stick to the latter.
I imagine there's aways the pervasive idea of secret Ainur no one has discovered yet. No matter how many times the Valar go "no we promise we're all here in Valinor, there's no other Valar left" there's 100% an elf somewhere going "have you heard about the Vala of bogs? yeah they live in middle earth and they're in charge of all the bogs there and if you aren't careful you'll be stuck serving in their bog court"
Not to mention elves who know Aulë and have heard that his people sleep under the earth, waiting for their time to awake. I'm sure for some elves tell it as simply that, but over time another pervasive myth develops -- stories of great dwarven kingdoms under the earth, kingdoms they're barred from seeing, stories of seven great dwarven kings, each much like Aule in face, each possessing a specific sort of magic.
Imin, Tata, Enel, etc! Not only do we canonically get them as a counting story, I imagine their fates are also something that ends up being talked about? They do not seem like they ever ended up in Valinor -- what happened to them? I feel like elven stories can tend to go along the lines of "and then he turned into a tree" or "he still dwells by the sea where he was born" or "he fell into the cracks of the mountains during the war and became one with the earth."
Myth as a way to explore cultural taboos! Elves coming to Valinor, a land with no pain or crime, with the shadows of war and suffering behind them -- I imagine they must explore taboo and pain through storytelling. What happens to an elf that leaves his wife for another? What happens to an elf who poisons her sister? I imagine there's some gruesome/creepy stories that come out there, but are told with a naïveté to the actual truth of what violence looks like. Something along the lines of "and then the servants of Melkor hacked the elven king into bits, so his wife had to go looking for each piece of him in every corner of the world and sew them back together"
The sea!! Must I say more. The elves emerged from the sea, and they long for it -- yet they cannot go too far into the waves without drowning, and they do not know what lurks under the waves. I imagine myths centering around sea-creatures, around the souls of the drowned, around elves (mer-elves?) who never left the sea and make their kingdoms underneath the waters, etc.
Just some ideas!! If anyone else wants to contribute headcanons for early elf myths to his post, please do!

Findis headcanons
Looks like a female version of Finwë
Tallest of her siblings (Fëanor non withstanding), she’s nearly as tall as Finwë
AutismTM
Semi verbal, she mostly uses ósanwë to communicate with her family and friends
She’s a very good painter and specialised in Vanyarin illuminated manuscrits. She can paint an incredibly detailed and lifelike scene in a centimetre square.
Likes dancing but only with her father as a partner. Never dances again after the Darkening.
Findis is the only one of her siblings to actually go along with Fëanor, even as an adult. He understands her in a way the others can’t bc he’s autistic too.
Arospec and Pan
Best friend with her mother
She has a service cat called Yaulë (cat in Quenya) for when she has meltdowns or shutdowns. It’s the cat equivalent of Huan in terms of intelligence (and size).
Wears lots of white and light colours, especially pink
She really like all her sisters-in-law and niblings but struggles to express her feelings so she comes out as stiff and formal. The ones she connects the best with are Caranthir and Turgon.
Married to Elemmírë (gender is up to the reader), they live in a cottage just outside of Valmar
Has depressive episodes and generalised anxiety after Finwë’s death and the departure of her family.
She’s very good at chess and plays a lot with Indis
As a small child, she once plucked feathers from Eonwë’s wings during a formal reception. The Herald never held another child in his arms after that and Finds still keeps the feathers in her treasure box as a trophy of her greatest deed.

It is told that even as Fëanor and Fingolfin stood before Manwë there came the mingling of the lights, when both Trees were shining, and the silent city of Valmar was filled with a radiance of silver and gold. And in that very hour Melkor and Ungoliant came hastening over the fields of Valinor, as the shadow of a black cloud upon the wind fleets over the sunlit earth; and they came before the green mound Ezellohar. Then the Unlight of Ungoliant rose up even to the roots of the Trees, and Melkor sprang upon the mound; and with his black spear he smote each Tree to its core, wounded them deep, and their sap poured forth as it were their blood, and was spilled upon the ground. But Ungoliant sucked it up, and going then from Tree to Tree she set her black beak to their wounds, till they were drained; and the poison of Death that was in her went into their tissues and withered them, root, branch, and leaf; and they died. And still she thirsted, and going to the Wells of Varda she drank them dry; but Ungoliant belched forth black vapours as she drank, and swelled to a shape so vast and hideous that Melkor was afraid.
So the great darkness fell upon Valinor. Of the deeds of that day much is told in the Aldudénië, that Elemmírë of the Vanyar made and is known to all the Eldar. Yet no song or tale could contain all the grief and terror that then befell. The Light failed; but the Darkness that followed was more than loss of light. In that hour was made a Darkness that seemed not lack but a thing with being of its own: for it was indeed made by malice out of Light, and it had power to pierce the eye, and to enter heart and mind, and strangle the very will.

Findekáno could see him writing this letter as clearly as if Maitimo were before him. Sitting with his back straight, head tilted a little, the fingers of his left hand drumming on the table as he pondered over the words. Findekáno could see him opening one of Elemmírë’s poetry books that he always kept on his desk to make sure he had not quoted her poem erroneously, even though he knew all of her works by heart. Findekáno could see Maitimo’s meticulously and richly embroidered sleeve smearing the ink on the sheet. Maitimo would huff in annoyance and roll his sleeves back, then start writing the letter anew. His letters had to be perfect without mistakes or marks.

Some March fic recs!
For Tolkien Fanfic Reading Month! Limiting myself to stories I read in March (but posted anytime). (header by Anna Zakharova on Unsplash)
Tumblr media
picnic by @swanmaids - A bored and reckless Aredhel goes to Vána's orchards seeking adventure and has an experience. This lush and sexy fic feels like a warm summer afternoon. I love how seductive and eerie Vána is here!
Kiss and Marry by @thecoolblackwaves - Have you ever looked at Celegorm and Curufin and thought, "They should be the stars of a romcom"? No? This fic is here to reveal that wonder to you.
弄假成真 by Divano_Messiah - Maglor has been telling people at school that he has a boyfriend. Maedhros is jealous until he learns who it is. (I admit I read this via google translate, you can too...)
Envy by @polutrope - In Tirion, Maglor and Elemmírë struggle to handle each other's reputations with equanimity. The people around them try to respond. This fic is so funny and sweet--I love this take on Elemmírë and Fëanor's guest appearance is hilariously him.
Youthful Regrets by kitkatkaylie - Turgon and Maglor fall in love in Valinor before Turgon's engagement to Elenwë. I really like the personality contrasts of this ship, with Turgon opening up to Maglor, and how this story sketches out their relationship through the whole arc of Silm to its bitter separation.
I risk my life to make my name by @maironsbigboobs - The brave knight Galadriel goes on a journey to meet the Green Woman Melian and her fate, ft. adventures along the way. I love how Tolkien is blended with Arthurian conventions here--it works so well and brings out the myth vibes of Silm that I love so much!
Strange Currencies chapter 12 by @jouissants - This is such a beautifully-crafted tale in every regard, but I want to especially mention this flashback chapter I read in March, covering Maedhros' and Maglor's voyage on the swan ships up to just before Fëanor's death. The horror of the Fëanorian Noldor arriving in the dark with their distrust, inflated ego, and total lack of knowledge of Middle-earth comes through here so, so vividly--this part can be read by itself, go check it out!!
Oubliette by Stramonium - Horrifying and so vividly written scene of Maedhros in Angband, isolation, and monstrosity. Poetic and awful, I can't do it justice in summarizing it.
arrangement for flute and harp by @jouissants - Maedhros is determined to work late, so Maglor and Fingon decide to entertain each other. The Himring atmosphere and incredible character dynamics make this also really sexy smut such a wonderful story.
whatever you would crave by @eight-pointed-star - Sooo sexy ficlet in which Fingon and Maedhros attend to Maglor's Needs. Short but immensely powerful.
scherzo for ink and parchment by @dovewifes - Charming and comedic missives exchanged between Maedhros and Maglor during the Long Peace, ft. romantic endearments and the invention of emojis. Maedhros' so-apparent love for Maglor is something I especially cherish about this fun fic.
Star-kissed by @aipilosse - Celeborn of Doriath rescues recently-of-Gondolin (and silver-haired!) Celebrimbor from a predicament in Nan Dungortheb. Incredibly clever, funny, and hot!
Purification by @zealouswerewolfcollector - Thingol is curious about Maedhros: throne sex ensues. A favorite ship of mine in a flavor I'd never considered. Incredibly intense and super well-written.
Comfort from a Heavy Hand by @undercat-overdog - After the Bragollach, Mablung tends to an injured Beleg, and they seek comfort together. The wreckage and destruction of the battle feels so vivid in this one, and the dynamic of Beleg/Mablung as past teacher and student (and current battle companions) is wonderful.
Thou knowest to-night, and wilt know to-morrow by @welcomingdisaster - A brilliant installment in an ongoing Children of Húrin AU series that has the most beautiful, unsettling, and dreamlike atmosphere. In this fic Maedhros teaches "Cáno" about pleasure in preparation for their marriage bed. Catnip to me personally!!
Proxy by @aipilosse - Celebrimbor comes to reproach Celegorm in Nargothrond after Finrod's departure. They fuck. Gender, tension, messy and complicated emotional dynamics all around. The dirty talk is so so good.
Star of the Nevrast Shore by joanofarcstan - Silmarillion filk of one of my favorite folk songs! What more is there to say!! A sweet tale of Gondolin told from Voronwë's point of view, recounting the love between him, Tuor (the star of the Nevrast shore), Idril, and Maeglin.
A Light Burns in the Forest by fictional_hr_department - Thranduil and Oropher escape Menegroth with child Elwing. The title and art by @lycheesodas give me chills and the atmosphere of the fic as they make their disorienting journey to Sirion really brings to life the terrible aftermath of the second kinslaying.
By Your Side by HiyoriTomioka - fem!Eärendil and Elwing support each other in this ficlet... such a good vision of this ship, and the way Eärendil thinks about Tuor and Idril here with longing uncertainty makes me think of a trans!Eärendil even though that is not explicit.
Something Sleepless in Mirkwood by @imakemywings - Thranduil sickens as the Greenwood does. Elrond tries to heal him, but can't understand at first what's happening. Brilliant and canon-compliant (To Me) wry, proud, and eerie woodland king Thranduil--go give this a read!
A boat, my boat, out upon the River by Tethys_resort - Sméagol is trying to craft his own boat to take fishing. His family keeps getting in the way. This sweet fic paints such an idyllic picture of proto-Hobbit life and made me really feel the tragedy of Gollum.
The Fortress by TheLegendCreator - Brief and haunting fic in which a Dwarf visits the ruins of Himring and they have a conversation. I love the view this offers of Maedhros and the fierce loyalty Himring and its folk had for him.
one whole with my other by @i-am-a-lonely-visitor - Indis' marriage to Finwë is transferred to bind her instead to reembodied Míriel. This turns out to be a good thing. An incredibly touching, beautifully wrought and worldbuilt story. I just love it so much.
The Number One Exercise for Relieving Work-Related Stress (Click to Find Out!) by @imakemywings - Date night in Mirkwood. Maglor (Noldorin princess, ex-kinslayer) adorns herself for the benefit of Thranduil (the Elvenqueen)--or that's her plan, anyway. This story is so sexy, so funny, and honestly so touching. I just adore this ship as a happy ending for Maglor and their relationship is gorgeously fleshed out here.
Cousin, Sister, Lover, Queen by broken_pencils - Lesbian Éowyn discovers desire... through Éomer's betrothed Lothíriel. Lothíriel is a stealth fav for me from the Éomer fics I used to read as a kid and I really enjoyed her here, and the lush atmosphere of this story.
His Return by @danmeiljie - Beautiful, tender scene of Maedhros and Maglor reuniting as per @tari-cua's art. Such lovely descriptions in this one and so cozy.

Tumblr media
Heavy with grief and sorrow was the heart of Findis when she went to dwell with her mother's kin after her father's death.
Yet when she entered her new home, she found a bouquet of snowdrops and a beautiful veil waiting for her.
"Welcoming gifts are an old tradition here," she heard a voice behind her and turned to see Elemmírë smiling at her. "And you, my favourite princess, have been dearly missed."
"I missed you too," Findis breathed, remembering many joyful hours they had shared whenever her family had visited Taniquetil. "Despite everything, it's good to see you again."

Third OC (Original Character): Marko Stjepan Mitrović/Aiarnāro Elnethīnye
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Red Flames danced upon the sea, Where lies an unyielding and fierce soul, Aearnor, his mother-name many knew by.
His eyes were the fury of a thousand suns, Burning brighter with passion and desire, Strides through the cities of the deathless darkness.
He was as more seductive as the harlots, Cunning as the tyrants, fierce as the warriors, And more handsome as many of mortal men.
Black tresses with silvery white streaks, Pale skin he has, adorned with the golden hues Clad in robes of the blood red and pure black.
A Peredhel born with the vampire blood, Light and shadows he belonged in both, He's clever with a mind sharp as a blade.
Fairest of all men, his beauty matched Ganymede's Admired by many, feared by some, His old soul was burned by the fires of resuscitation.
The Shrewdness of ages in his eyes, The passion of man in his heart, And the wholeness of a being in his spirit.
Overview:
Marko Stjepan Mitrović was the youngest twin son of Halatirnë II (Previous OC) by a Human-Vampire Count Šimun Mitrović of Vinkovci and twin brother of Aiardil Alatarāto (Aeardil Galadrod—First OC), the biological son of Lord Hrávahyalmo Altaluimë (Next OC). [Note: Their birth was the result of the real-life rare occurrence called Heteropaternal Superfecundation, which involved the fertilization of two eggs by two sperms from different fathers.] He was the only Peredhel (if not) who had his vampire lineage and the last scion of the last generation of the Mitrović Family since 1999. Marko now appeared in the Elemmírion Series on Wattpad. (Still ongoing)
Description of the artwork: The original form of Aiarnāro/Marko was described as waist-length, raven-haired with silver streaks (Same as his mother Halatirnë II), clad in blood-red robes, his skin was as pale as either alabaster or porcelain. He holds the Elder wand, which was wielded by Albus Dumbledore (Formerly), Lord Voldemort (briefly), and Harry Potter (after the Battle of Hogwarts). The background was supposed to be black and red gradient and a giant red fires/flames behind him.
Names: His name "Marko Stjepan" was the common Ataressë (Father-name) given by his father Šimun. Aiarnāro (Aearnor/Eärnáro) was his rare Amilessë (Mother-name) means "Sea of Fires/Flames" given by Halatirnë II herself, while his epessë (Aftername) was Undómielo "Evenstar", Elnethīnye "Star of the Evening" or Hesperus "Evening Star".
Bloodline: ½ Elda (Telerin);¼ Human; ¼ Vampire

Vanyarin Portraits: Ingwë, Indis, Elemmírë, Elenwë, Amarië, and Idril.
Alrighty, it’s time for the Vanyar! Their designs are inspired by old tea gowns, with the frills and poofy, flowing sleeves and occasional frilly collar. The colours can range from pastel to dark, but I went with more pastel-y here XDD
As far as I know, Elemmírë’s gender is unknown, so I’ve decided to go with the headcanon that they’re bigender, both male and female! Also, I know Idril isn’t a full Vanya, but I wanted to keep the portraits at an even number, so I added her in to keep Elenwë company loll Her dress is a mix of frilly Vanyarin and streamlined Noldorin fashion, and I imagine she’s the type to stay moderate on the fancy embroidery XDD

curious about golden son!
Ohhhhh my favourite one! Thank you for the ask! *rubs hands in anticipation*
So, this one is my longest-standing wip, begun back in December, and from a throwaway idea it has shaped itself into a medium/longfic set in the Noontide of Valinor about falling in love, coming of age, friends to lovers, and family drama, where the central relationship is Curufin/Finrod. It started out because of me wanting to write smut, but when I got to it I had to create a backstory and it just... grew out of my hands. It is bittersweet with a rather sad ending, it tackles some topics like insecurities and the relationships between fathers and sons, growing up as yourself vs having to perform/to obey your parents' expectations of you, friendship vs love vs family. The other main romantic relationship is between Turgon and Elenwe, serving as a foil for Curufin and Finrod, as Finrod evaluates his own feelings and juggles between what he wants and what's expected of him. As for vibes, think of long summers, flowers in bloom, cold lakes, laughing and arguing, kisses stolen in gardens, the nervousness and giddiness of first love.
And now, a longer snipper - the beginning of it.
Curufinwë, Findaráto knows, looks too much like his father. It has been laid out from the beginning in his name: Curufinwë Atarinkë. Little father. Little Fëanáro. All of his half-cousins are named after the whims of their sire, who used them as a means for subtle insults in place of open dissent, and the fifth one, the youngest, bears the greatest expectation: that he needs to measure up to his namesake. Findaráto is not really close to that side of the family; they do not live in Tirion, but travel across Valinórë with their extended household; every now and then, his father receives a trinket from the last place they visited: a gold bracelet decked with opals and mother of pearl, a particularly smooth stone picked up from the heights of the Pelóri.  He grew up with the loud Ñolofinwëans, whose brashness is, if irritating, at least not duplicitous. Findaráto prefers serious Turukáno to his wild siblings; in fact, he spends almost all his free time strumming his lyre while Turukáno is perched on a cushioned armchair close to the west-facing windows, with a historical scroll of some kind.  As of late, the documents have undergone an intriguing transition to poetry books; and that would not have been such a bizarre choice — after all, it is the custom for elder myths to be told in verse — if not for the content: where Findaráto expected to read, whenever he peeked over his cousin’s shoulder, legends of ancient deeds of valour sung in trochaic metre, he discovered with a certain wonder that Turukáno secretly enjoyed the romantic art of Elemmírë with all its verbose lyricism. “Snooping is a poor look on you, Ingo,” Turukáno admonishes him when he takes notice of his meddling with the pile of to-read saccharine pamphlets he stored under the said armchair. “Anyway, you cannot understand the longing for a most beloved soul.”  He punctuates his statement with a sigh, then shakes his head and buries himself in the newest collection of love ballads, all the while Findaráto watches unhappily.

Reference: Named Constellations and Stars in Tolkien
I had an anon ask about elves and stars headcanons so I wanted to make a reference post first about what constellations are named
Two notes: one, obviously, constellations are an area in which a lot of creative license must be allowed. This generally applies to most astronomy topics in Tolkien. For example some of these lights are not stars but planets however it is unclear just how much Middle Earth represents real earth and whether they are truly planets in universe.
Second note: not all of these are considered canon as some are from BoLT and other earlier texts. However with the exception of some lore associated with Menelmacar, none of these are explicitly contradicted or in opposition to canon.
Constellations were created in canon lore by Varda
Alcarinquë was a bright light placed in the sky by Varda. It was believed to correspond with the planet Jupiter in real life however its identity in the text is somewhat unclear. It means Glorious in Quenya.
Anarríma is a constellation of un described form. Its name means Sun edge or Sun border in Quenya.
Borgil was the red star of the winter skies that appeared alongside Menelmacar. It means Red star in Sindarin
Carnil was another red star created by Varda early on. Christopher Tolkien however speculated that it might actually correspond with the planet Mars. Carnil means red star in Quenya.
Elemmírë was a bright green light created by Varda. The name means elven jewel or star jewel in Quenya. It is somewhat unclear of its nature and is speculated to correspond with the planet Mercury.
Helluin was the brightest of Varda's stars and one of the most important in the lore. It was a brilliant blue and appeared in the sky during the Awakening of the Elves. Fëanor's jewels were also compared to the bright light of Helluin. Helluin means icy or sky blue in Quenya.
Lumbar was a star or other figure made by Varda. It was speculated to correspond with the planet Saturn. The name means gloomy in Quenya.
Lunil was a blue star created by Varda. Its exact correspondence to real life if it has one is unclear. The name is also unclear but lun is a root for blue.
Menelmacar was a constellation taking the form of a warrior. It was said to be the constellation often called Orion in real life. This figure has a complicated history in the Legedarium. In some versions, he was said to represent Túrin in his final battle with Melkor. In others, he was a son of Tulkas (though this is not from canon texts). The name means Swordsman of the sky in Quenya.
Nénar was a star created by Varda. The element nen is often associated with water in Quenya
Remmirath: called the netted stars, these were a collection of stars located near the Swordsman and speculated to correspond to the Pleiades cluster in real life. They were connected by a nebulous blue substance. Remmirath means netted jewels in Sindarin
Soronúmë, the Eagle of the West, was a constellation created by Varda with the dew of the tree Telperion.
Telumendil, meaning friend of the dome of the heavens, was a constellation created by Varda for the awakening of the elves. Its form is unclear.
Valacirca, the sickle of the Valar, was a constellation created by Varda as a warning to Melkor. It is speculated to be similar to the big dipper in real life. The name means sickle of the Valar
Wilwarin is the butterfly. Christopher Tolkien speculated that it might correspond to the constellation of Cassiopeia in real life. The name means butterfly in Quenya.
