First Line Game
Tagged by @lexa-griffins and @talktomeinclexa
rules: don't reblog the first one, make a new post! look at the first lines of the last ten (10) stories you published. look to see any patterns you notice yourself, and see if anyone else notices any!
Whims/Winds of Fate/Destiny
"Fate is a funny thing. Just when you think you have your life planned out, destiny sweeps in and fucks it up. And the worst part? You're helpless to stop it."
hearts aren't always red, they're black and blue
"Here she comes, Heda. Just like Nate said," Bellamy offered with a bright smile as he nodded at the approaching railroad.
City of Light and Shadow
Copper eyes spanned the horizon, taking in the city below. From her perch atop a skyscraper, Anya could see everything. It was beautiful.
Wicked Game
There was a time when Clarke believed the ground was a magical place, full of beauty and wonder. From the Ark, it seemed so quiet and peaceful.
A Tale of Two Queens
"Alexandria, are you even listening to me?" Her mother's voice was annoyed when she pulled the brunette's focus from the two adults and blonde girl in the courtyard.
Wolfy-shit
"Thanks for walking with me," Clarke offered as they turned the corner leading to Howl and the brunette smiled.
Into the Woods
"Leksa? What happened?" Indra's brown eyes were wide with astonishment when she opened her door, and Lexa could only imagine how it might look to the Mage.
Skaikrasha
"Why the hell hasn't the Sky Princess been executed yet?!" Costia demanded as she entered the apartment, tossing her purse and jacket at her assistant, Raja, then waving her off. The assistant hurried away, knowing this was a conversation she didn't wish to hear.
Echoes of You (Within me)
"Klark…" Lexa's words came out as barely a murmur as the blonde alpha pulled her body flush against her own and grazed her teeth over the omega's pulse point.
Lost in Translation
"Please, don't do this!!" Clarke begged. This wasn't happening. There had to be a mistake, he wouldn't abandon her. Not like this.

YOU ARE GOING TO HATE THIS | @flamefallen, Finn Collins
Tumblr media
It stinks.
This world stinks; he stinks, and the goddamn citizens of the arc stunk the most. Fuck this Earth. Fuck every one of the brats tucked under Bellamy's thumb and fuck every single adult who kept him confined and caged within the camp. A newly formed prison designed specifically for him and him alone based on testimony provided eloquently by each and every single individual who watched as the camp hoarded him and tied the leash they hung him by.
They can all go float themselves.
Finn especially, even if he did advocated for a job of sorts for him. Farming unit, right? The fuck as if he remembers. The animals they had were small and limited. Only what was absolutely necessary was kept and the rest was studied in theory.
Chickens? Sure. Cows? No big deal. Goats? Tried to eat his hair once. Not a fan. Would always try to square up with her whenever his father had her down for milking. Needless to say, the goat would knock him down every time he had his back turn.
Fucker.
Little grains was rationed for his section. If he wanted more to tend to the hens that survived the landing, Murphy was advised to get it himself.
So he did.
Out here; in the thicket of the forest where he was bound to for days, left to survive on his own with a reputation on his head he owed all his thanks to. This planet is hardly inhabitable in his opinion. Every thing he came in contact with is imbued with radiation and they've been eating it; breathing and living in it. A few handful of herbs were found and it would simply have to do. Some mint, some parsley. In moderation it would be fine. It'll allow him to stretch what feed they had left and a chance to prolong their longevity.
Or kill it. Not like it fucking mattered. They're going to die whether he fed it the herbs or not.
A cool breeze swept the canopy. Branches swayed and leaves fell to coat the ground in their ever changing color. Winter grows close and the chill in the air couldn't be ignored any long, both hands cupped together as he breathed into them, rubbing what little heat he had to keep feelings in his fingers. The sun was starting to set and with it it took what heat it had to offer. His cue to turn back around before he's trapped in the clutches of another grounder and their stank as breath.
Or froze to death. Who was he is to say which one would be worse?
The trek back is longer than the journey in. The noise of their people ---the fuck as if they were his--- is faint but enough to guide. Halted only when the cry of something small and fluctuating in pitch caught his attention. It echoed. It rung against the trees and then through every inch of his cranium. Nearly deafening but it's crying out in pain so loud is all it's got. Murphy knew the cry of a wounded beast better than that of a human being and even with his heart beating a drum all of it's own, he ventured forth.
Pivots from the path that guaranteed him a safe return to make a hard left in the direction of distress that rung like a desperate plea he knew all too well.
It's fucking ugly, what he found. Fucked up from the radiation so bad that it's mother would abandoned it for the cold to feast upon. Grey-blue eyes watched with rising interest. Eyes of a greener pasture could barely focus back in return.
Let it die.
Who? Me?
He should have. Years ago. Shit would be better in death than it ever would be where the flow of time dragged him about kicking and screaming.
He could hear the exact voice of the one individual Murphy is positive would have killed this kitten on sight like how he kicked the crate from right under his feet.
And it is that reason; that reason alone that he bends down to scoop it up in what scraps of rags made up it's nest and tucked it inside of his jacket, close to this chest.
"Sssh."
It mewled.
"Yeah. I know. Shit sucks out here."
And it stinks.
The walk back is quiet. His muscles ached and his bones rattled with the winds. No one spares him a glance and it is with confidence Murphy walks into his humble little corner. Who's going to check on him?
Nobody likes him.

Bounty Hunter - When The Time Is Right
Tumblr media
Warnings: swearing, mentions of death, violence, injuries.
Pairing: Bellamy Blake x Grounder!reader.
Word count: 4718
Main Masterlist.
Series Masterlist.
She’s dying. She’s dying. She’s dying. She’s dying.
Reven’s words were echoing in his head since the moment he heard them, his thoughts running wild. He saw you, laying outside Mount Weather, dead. He was too late. “We’re close.” Kane said, pulling him slightly away from his thoughts, now focused on the view from the tiny window in front of him. The truth was, he couldn’t imagine what he would do if you were gone. He didn’t know how he felt about you, you weren’t a permanent person in his life, but you weren’t a stranger, too. You were the girl who risked her life for him, without even knowing him. And now, sitting in the rover, waiting and hoping to get there in time, he knew he would lose his mind if they were too late.
“We’re here.” Kane announced. The moment the river stopped, he jumped out of it, running straight to you. You were laying between Raven and Sinclair, your mouth was slightly opened and blood was dripping for it. Your whole front was covered in blood. “No, no, no.” He said as he crouched down next to you, taking your hand in one hand and brushing your hair from your face with the other.
“Stay with me, Nokeryon. You’re okay, we’re here, we’re gonna help you.” He whispered as tears formed in his eyes.
“Y/N.” Raven mumbled from beside him.
He turned to her. “What?”
“Her name is Y/N. She told me because she knew she was gonna die.” She whispered, her eyes focused on something in front of her.
“Don’t worry, when the time is right, you’ll know my name.”
Your words echoed through his mind, but he ignored it. “Well, she’s not going to.” He said sternly before turning back to look at you. “Stay with me, Y/N. You have to keep fighting.”
“Clear the way.” Abby said as she took Sinclair’s spot next to you. She placed two fingers on your neck, nodding. “She has a pulse, but it’s weak. I need to stitch her up and get her to Arkadia as fast as possible.” She said and pulled out her med kit. Bellamy watched her, his hand still in yours and his other one cupping your cheek. She took a needle and a surgical suture. “Open her jacket.” She ordered. He immediately opened your jacket and lifted up your shirt, cringing at the sight of your stab wound. Abby poured water and alcohol on your wound and cleaned the area, wiping all of the dry and new blood off and started to stitch you up. He moved his gaze to your face, seeing your busted lip and the bruises that were starting to form in your eye and right cheek. He looked around, finding the assassin’s body not too far from them. You saved them.
“Okay. Help me get her on the stretcher.” Abby said, pulling back his attention to her. He helped her lift you up onto the stretcher and carried you to the rover.
“She’s not coming.” Pike said, stepping into their way.
“Like hell she is,” Raven said, steeping forward, “she saved my life, killed the assassin. We owe her our lives.”
“She’s a Grounder, she’s not one of us. We need the medical equipment for our people.” He argued. Bellamy felt himself getting angry, his emotions out of control. However, before he could say something, Abby stepped forward. “Well, you’re not in charge here, I am. And as acting Chancellor, I approve her treatment in Arkadia. She saved their lives, Charles.”
“You’re making a mistake, Abby.” Was all he said before moving away. Ballamy and Abby wasted no time in carrying you in the rover, placing you on the floor. Just like before, it felt like the longest drive he’d even took, but now you were with him, safe. He knew you were on borrowed time, but held your hand tightly in his, reminding him that you were here. And not dead.
“I can’t find a pulse.” Abby said, his eyes widening. She sat on her knees and started performing CPR on you. Bellamy felt as if he was falling deep, begging for something to hold on to. He kept holding your hand, silently begging you to fight. Abby lowered her mouth to yours before moving back and continuing her chest compressions. She suddenly stopped, checking your pulse. Bellamy looked at her with a hopeful look, but that look was gone when she shook her head, leaning away from you.
“No.” He said, refusing to believe what was right in front of him. “No, you have to continue, she’s not dead.”
“I’m sorry, Bellamy. But there’s nothing I can do.” She said, her face turning of pity. He shook his head, dropping to his knees. He brought his hand to your cheek, caressing it. “Come on, Y/N.” He whispered, and if you were awake you’d be the only one who could hear him. “I need you to keep fighting, you need to keep fighting. I need you, please. You can’t die on me.” He begged, a sob breaking through him. “Please..”
He cried silently, feeling a hand on his back, he turned to see Octavia, tears in her eyes as well. “She can’t be dead, O. There has to be something we can do..” he trailed off, his mind running through possibilities. He remembered Lincoln, laying still until Abby hit him with the shock baton. He reached back with his free hand, feeling the baton that was still attached to his belt.
“Hit her.” He said, pulling out the baton and handing it to Abby. “Like you did with Lincoln.”
She looked at him for a few seconds before nodding, telling him to step away from you. She activated it, pushing it to your chest. Nothing happened.
“Hit her again.” Bellamy said, his eyes trained on your face, waiting for some response. Abby hit you again, nothing happened.
“Again.” He ordered, feeling fouls hope.
“Bellamy-“ Octavia started but he was quick to cut her off.
“Hit her again.”
Abby sighed but hit you again, nothing happened. He couldn’t breath, couldn’t see, couldn’t feel the comforting hand on his back or hear the sorrys of the people around him. And he refused to believe you were dead. Not now, not ever. There are so many things he didn’t say to you, things that he might never get to say. He wanted to see your eyes open, to hear your voice when you teased him or hear your laughter. “No.” He sobbed, shanking his head in denial. “Hit her again.”
“Bellamy, we’d be just hitting a dead body.” Abby said, her voice soft but her words cut through him like a knife.
“Hit her again.” He raised his voice. She looked at Kane, he nodded. With clear disapproval, she leaned forward, hitting you again. He pressed his fingers against your neck, feeling a small pulse, but he wasn’t sure if it was his own racing heart, or your dying one. “I-I don’t..” he couldn’t finish his sentence. Abby nodded, understanding. She pressed her own fingers, her head lifting up in shock.
“She has a pulse.”
Ballamy couldn’t help the smile that rose to his face. He leaned closer to you. “You hear that? You’re going to be okay. You’re okay. You’re alive.”
________
You gasped for air, sitting you and groaning as you felt an agonizing pain in your side. Hands on your shoulders pushing you back down to the bed, making you turn your head. You saw Jackson, the same man who treated you after Mount Weather.
“Relax, you’re okay.” He reassured you. You nodded but was still not convinced. You looked around the room, metal. There was grey metal all over the place, putting you in a discomfort. You felt a hand squeeze yours, making you turned to your right. You saw Bellamy, his head leaned on your hand on the bed, his curls spreading on the white sheet. The sight itself brought you to comfort.
“I’m not dead?” You asked, turning to Jackson, speaking in a low voice to not wake Bellamy.
“You almost were, but luckily for you, this guy here refused to let you die.” He said, making your gaze fall back on Bellamy, a small smile on your face. “Of course he wouldn’t, the guy isn’t connected to reality even if it hit him in the face.”
Jackson chuckled, turning to leave. “I’ll leave you two alone.”
“Wait.” You stopped him. “Thank you.”
“Just don’t get stabbed again.” He said and walked out of the room.
You leaned back on the bed and moved your hand to play with Bellamy’s curls, your smile spreading as he moved his head, allowing you to keep going. Your heart raced, but this time it wasn’t from running away or getting stabbed, this time, it was from the guy sitting next to you, the guy who didn’t let you die. The guy who made you feel more than a bounty hunter, he made you feel like your life mattered. He stirred awake, head lifting and eyes squinting, widening when they fell on you.
“You’re awake.” He said and placed his hand on your cheek. “How are you feeling? Are you okay? Do you need something? Water? You must be-“
“I need you to shut up.” You cut him off, placing you hand on top of his, running your thumb over his knuckles. “I’m fine, Bellamy, thanks to you, so I’ve heard.”
“You have no idea how worried I was. Your heart stopped and I couldn’t-“
You placed your hand on his cheek, shutting him up. “I’m fine now, Bell.” His eyebrows lifting in surprise of the nickname. “I’m alive and I’m okay.”
It took him a few seconds, but he nodded, leaning in to your touch. You shoved down all of your doubts, you almost died and you didn’t want to before getting to do this. You scooted away, petting the space beside you. “Come on.”
He didn’t move, doubt clear on his face, but you didn’t care. You need to feel his touch, you needed the reminded that you were alive. “I’ll hurt you.” He said in a quiet voice, making you smile. “No, you won’t. I’m tough. Now come on.” You waved him over. Even though the look of doubt never left his face, he laid next to you. You turned to him, holding him close to you, your head on his chest. You felt his arms wrap around you and his lips touching your hairline. You looked up and saw him with his eyes closed, all doubts gone. You relaxed against him, breathing in his scent. His hand started to run up and down your back, making you aware that a thin shirt was the only thing you wore to cover your torso. You drew circles on his chest, closing your eyes. You stayed there for what felt like hours, but still, it wasn’t enough. You wanted to hold him for an eternity, to feel his unending touch and to breath nothing but his scent. All the things you wanted to say, all the things you wanted to do and thought you were going to die without getting to do them, you knew what you needed to do.
The door opened, making your moment of peace go away. You opened your eyes and felt Bellamy move away from you. You looked up and saw Lincoln and Octavia stepping into the room. Lincoln immediately went to you, pulling you into him.
“Hello to you too.” You said, but hugged him back close. You didn’t see Lincoln in over a month and you have missed him. “Glad you’re not dead.” He said, pulling away. “You know me, it’ll take a powerhouse to take me down.”
“Mostly because you are a powerhouse.” Octavia said from beside Lincoln. You chuckled and pulled her into a hug as best aa you could from your sitting position. “I’m flattered, Little Blake.”
“You need to lay down, rest.” Lincoln said and placed his hand on your shoulder. You rolled your eyes but laid down, already feeling your side starting to burn. The door opened again, revealing Kane and Abby.
“Nokeryon.” Kane greeted. “I’m glad to see you’re awake.”
“Glad to be alive.” You said, sitting back up, ignoring the look Bellamy sent you.
“We need to talk to you and Lincoln, but before we do, I have a question for Bellamy.” Abby said, turning to look at him.
“I already told you, Kane, I’m not returning.” Bellamy said, making you frown. “What are you talking about?”
“He quit his guard post.” Kane answered for him. “Returned his jacket.”
“What?” You turned back to Bellamy. “Why would you do that?” You asked but his gaze stayed on Kane.
“He thinks what happened in the mountain was his fault.” Kane said.
“What? That’s insane, Ballamy. You couldn’t have known.”
“But you did.” He finally turned to you. “You told me something was off but I didn’t listen.”
“Yes, you did. You told me to stay there and it was the right call. If I wasn’t there, Raven and Sinclair would be dead and that assassin would be free.” You said, moving your hand to his forearm. “What happened wasn’t your fault, it was Azgeda’s.”
You could tell you reached to him, but he closed up, pushing you away. “I’ll go get you some food.” He muttered and walked out of the room, leaving you with a confused face.
“Pike wants to avenge the lives we lost in the mountain.” Kane started, making your attention go to him. “He wants to attack.”
“He can’t.” Lincoln said. “You are finally on good terms with Lexa, you can’t let Pike ruin that.”
“He’s right, if he does this then Lexa will have you wiped out.” You said and turned your body to the edge of the bed. “Now, help me up and get me some clothes. I need to get out of here.”
“No, what you need is rest.” Lincoln said and stepped in front of you.
“I’ve rested enough.” You two looked at each other, a silent battle between your eyes. He sighed and helped you. You winced as you stood, but clenched your jaw and pushed back the pain.
“Here.” Octavia handed you a pile of clothing.
“Thanks, you mind helping me?” You asked her and she nodded offering you her hand. You took it and slowly made your way out of the room. She walked you to an unfamiliar room, there was a bed and a small closet. “Is this your room?” You asked her as you sat down.
“No, it’s yours.” She said and helped you out of your shirt.
“What? Why?” You asked and winced as she helped you pull another shirt on.
“I think it’s their way of saying, ‘thank you for almost dying for us, here’s a room.’ Stand up.” She instructed.
You chuckled and said, “there’s no way I’m staying here, I need to go back.”
She pulled your pants up and grabbed your boots, helping you put them on. “I think you should stay here for just a little longer.” She said before adding. “Bellamy needs you.”
“What’s up with him?” You asked as she sat down next to you.
“He blames himself. For the attack, for you almost dying. He thinks it’s his fault.” She explained.
“Well, it’s not.” You simply said before standing up.
“And you’re the only person who can get that through to him, which is why you need to stay here. And because you need to rest.”
You grabbed your jacket, pulling it on. Something caught your eyes, your belt and all your attachments you always had on you were laying on the table.
“I figured you would want this back.” Octavia said and moved to grab them, handing them to you. “I have no idea how you put this together.”
You chuckled and took them from her, organizing them. “It took me some time to figure it out too, but Nyko is the true master.”
“Nyko?”
“Lincoln didn’t tell you?”
“No.” She shook her head.
“After my parents died I ran. Nyko found me, took me under his wing.”
She nodded. “Let’s go.”
You walked out of the room, heading outside. Your mouth was gaped as you stared at everything. There were kids, people working, if almost looked like another village if not for all the metal.
“Come on.” Octavia said and pulled you with her. You walked as best as you could, but you knew you would need to lay down in not too long. You saw Jasper and Monty up ahead.
“Glad to see you’re alive.” Jasper said as you got closer.
“The fuck happened to your neck?” You asked, seeing the scar on the left side of his neck.
“Some thing that happened to you, Ice Nation.” He said.
“All unstationed security personnel report to the main gate.” Was heard from the speakers.
You looked at Octavia before something near the gate caught your eyes. “Nyko.” You said before taking off, Octavia following after you.
“Hey, she’s hurt.” You yelled as you saw one guard push a young woman you recognized as Denea from the village you stayed in after Mount Weather, she barely caught herself.
“Hey, hey, hey, that’s enough!” Octavia yelled as you got to them. “Stop it!”
“Y/N.” Nyko said before walking to you. You jumped forward, wrapping your arms around him. You would have told him to not call you by your name but at that moment, all that mattered to you was that he was safe. He had always refused to call you Nokeryon, and you guessed it wouldn’t change anytime soon. “Ai strik gona.” My little warrior. He whispered, holding you close.
“Chit ste wrong?” What’s wrong? You asked.
“Emo ste haken.” They’re sick.
“The Chancellor told Nyko that we would that we would help.” Octavia said to the guard.
“You’re one of them, you take them in.” The guard said.
“Gladly.” You shot back before moving to help Denea up. “Yu are klir nau, kom op kom ai.” You’re safe now, come with me. You told her. Suddenly, the guard leaped forward and grabbed you aggressively, making her fall and you to wince, your shoulder wasn’t healed yet.
“You will speak English when you are here.” He yelled at you. You pulled out your knife and pressed it to his throat. “Touch me again and I will gut you like a fish.” You said and shook him off, moving back to Denea. You began walking back, Nyko falling into step with you. “I heard about Mount Weather.” He said to Octavia. “I’m very sorry.”
You walked into the medical station, helping them tend the sick. You left to go grab some water but stopped when you saw Lincoln leaning against the wall, blood dripping down his face.
“Lincoln.” You called and walked over to him. “Chit happened?” What happened? You asked him, inspecting the wound on his head.
“Oso dula op nou belong hir, Y/N. Emo made sure ai don get in dei de.” We don’t belong here, Y/N. They just made sure I knew that. He said as he turned to look at you. You shook your head. “Chit don dula emo dula op gon yu?” What did they do to you?
He didn’t answer, just stared at you. “Ku, den dula op nou tell ai. Ba let ai hon daun yu gon Abi.” Fine, then don’t tell me. But at least let me take you to Abby. He nodded, letting you help him.
“Abby.” You said as you walked in. “Help him.”
She took him to one of the beds and started working. She turned to you for a second. “You should be resting.”
“And let injustice happen like this? Yeah, right.” You scoffed, crossing your arms over your chest, glaring at Pike who, for some reason, was there.
“Do you want to press charges?” Kane asked Lincoln.
“No.” He said. “No charges.”
“Lincoln, you need to set an example.” Kane argued.
“Yeah, we do.”
“The man just lost his son, Marcus.” Pike said to Kane, making you roll your eyes.
“He’s a grown ass man, he should be able to control his anger.” You said, making him turn to you. “Was I talking to you, Grounder?”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing.”
“It is, you are a part of the enemy, there should be no place for you here.” He said, taking a step closer to you.
“I don’t want to be a part of you little ‘Fuck The Grounders’ club, but you owe me and you know it. Your ego just won’t let you admit it.” You said, preparing yourself in case you needed to punch the man. However before you could, Octavia walked into the room.
“What happened?” She asked and hurried to Lincoln’s side.
“I said no charges.” Lincoln said.
“Thank you.” Pike said and walked away, ignoring Nyko who was glaring at him.
“He’ll be fine.” Abby said and walked away as well.
“I’ll leave too, have fun.” You said and walked to Nyko. “How can I help?”
“You can help by resting. You were stabbed four times, your body isn’t healed yet.” Abby answered, making you roll your eyes.
“She’s right, I’ll be okay.” Nyko said.
“Seriously?”
Both of them didn’t say a thing. “Fine, I’m out of here.” You said and walked out.
You decided to stay in, wanting to see Bellamy. You saw him sitting in a table with Pike, making you frown. You started walking towards them, Pike spotting you. He said something to Bellamy before getting up and leaving.
“What was that about?” You asked, making Bellamy turn around.
“Nothing.” He said too fast. You sighed and sat down next to him, each leg on different side of the bench.
“I know you blame yourself for what happened, but you have to stop. What happened was not your fault. Yes, you could’ve prevented it, but so could I and so could anyone, but none of us knew. There are some things that we can’t control and that’s the way it’s supposed to be. You’re not God, Bellamy, you can’t control everything. As soon as you realize that, the heavy weight you carry on your shoulders will begin to loosen up.” You placed your hand on his cheek, finally making him turn to you. “It’s not your fault.”
“I told you to stay there, it’s my fault you almost died.” He said, clenching his jaw. You knew he was trying to hold himself together. You wrapped your arms around him, feeling him hug you back. “Don’t you ever blame yourself for what happened to me, I’m responsible for my own actions, not you.”
He pulled you close, mumbling something you couldn’t quite hear. You lifted your head, running your hand through his hair. “You’re okay. You’re safe now.” You whispered. He nodded.
“I have to go, I’m sorry.” He said, taking his jacket.
“Go where?” You asked and stood up with him.
“Clear my head.” He said and walked away, stopping for a second. “Thank you, for being here. You have no idea how much I appreciate this, and you.”
“I’ll always be here for you, Bell.” You said and took his hand in yours.
“I really hope you will.” He said and with a last squeeze to your hand, turned around and left. You were confused by his words, but didn’t say anything, not wanting to drive him away. You knew how vulnerable he felt, you needed to take it slow with him.
You stepped outside, walking to Octavia’s horse. You pet him, missing your own horse. You knew you needed to stay here but it didn’t change the fact that you missed your time in Polis. It was sort of peaceful, without all the drama that accrued to you. You heard shouting from behind you, you turned around the corner and saw a group of people, Bellamy and Pike in front of them and Lincoln, holding on of them with a knife to his throat. You frowned and ran to him.
“What’s happening?” You asked, standing beside Lincoln. You looked at Bellamy, his face showed clear surprise. “Lincoln, let him go.”
“They want to go and attack the army that was sent here to protect us. I’m not going anywhere.” He said, holding the man tighter.
“What?” You turned to Pike, not looking at Bellamy. “What the fuck is wrong with you? Lexa sent that army to protect you from Azgeda, so that what happened in Mount Weather won’t repeat itself.”
“Move away, Grounder.” He snarled at you.
“No, you move away. If you’re really that dumb to do this than you need to know that if you will attack this army, those Grounders that you hate so much, will wipe you out.” You said and stepped closer to him.
“Let them try.” A woman said from behind him.
“Whose people are you defending here, Lincoln?” Pike asked.
“Lincoln, put down the knife. No one has to get hurt here.” Bellamy said, making you look at him with confusion.
“I can’t let you start a war.” He said in a law voice, keeping his anger in check.
“We’re already at war.” Pike said.
“Are you even listening? We are at peace, it’s Azgeda that attacked us, it’s Azgeda that you need to hate. Not all Grounders are the same.” You said, trying for the tenth time to try and reason with him, but you should’ve known there was no reasoning with this man.
“Step away, Grounder, you can’t stop this.” He said.
“All unstationed security personnel report to the main gate.” A voice said from the speakers, followed by an alarm. You saw Octavia running towards you, stopping in front of Bellamy. “What’s wrong with you?”
Kane and Abby, followed by a few guards walked towards you. “Calm down, people.” Pike called. “Farm Station. Guns on the ground. On the ground.”
“Lincoln, it’s alright. Let him go.” Kane said, Lincoln let him go and pushed him forward.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Abby snapped at Pike.
“What you didn’t have the guts to.” He said, glaring at her.
“Did you arm these people?” Kane asked Bellamy. He didn’t say anything, providing the answer to both Kane and you. You refused to believe it.
“Guards, take them to lockup. Now.” Abby ordered. The guards stepped forward, arresting all the people the stood with Pike, including Bellamy. “Everybody, back to your quarters.” She yelled. “It’s over.”
“Nothing is over.” Pike yelled.
“Come the fuck on.” You sighed.
“We are surrounded by warriors who want us dead. One of them is already here, dressed like them.” He pointed at you. “And we provide her shelter and food? She is the enemy, alongside those people out there.”
“That’s enough!” Kane stepped forward.
“No, it isn’t. Not even close.” He yelled. “Why don’t you show us what you let the Grounders do to you yesterday?” He asked, cocking his head to the side. “Come on, Kane. I think that the people who are about to vote for you have a right to know.”
Kane rolled up his sleeve, showing the mark on his forearm. “It’s the mark of the Commander’s coalition.” He explained. “It means we are the 13th clan. It means we are in this fight together.”
“No.” Pike interrupted him. “It’s what farmers used to do to their livestock.”
“Right before the slaughterhouse!” A woman yelled from the crowd. People started to yell in agreement, you heard some of them saying that Pike should be the Chancellor.
“Sir,” a man said to Pike, “you should be on the ballot tomorrow.”
“Yeah, we’re with you, Pike.” A woman said.
“I vote for Pike.” Another man said.
“That’s enough.” Abby said, stepping forward, but the yelling continued. “Take him away.”
The guards did as they were told and took him away. You turned to look at Bellamy, but he wasn’t looking at you. “Pike! Pike! Pike!” The crown started chanting, and to your surprise, Bellamy joined. You looked at Octavia and Lincoln, both of their faces matching yours.
“We are officially fucked.”

Imagine a S5 canon divergent scenario where:
A. Clarke records her radio calls to Bellamy that she stores on a drive she intends to give to him when he returns to her.
B. Clarke hides the drive when she learns he's with Echo, believing that nothing she said is now of any importance.
C. Octavia and Diyoza never go to war. Although tensions are high among the factions, they reach an accord wherein they choose to share the valley.
D. Clarke and Bellamy resume their leadership roles in shepherding the errant factions to peace and cooperation. On the surface, Clarke is warm and kind but reserved and business-like with Bellamy. She never stays in the same room with him for long. Clarke keeps their conversations mostly limited to political affairs despite his attempts to know her again. She never makes any of the reassuring eye contact she used to partake with him. She never seeks him out. When they speak, it's up to him to find her. She moves away from him when he gets too close. Once, she flinched when he reached out to gently touch her arm. It's as if the soul of their connection ripped itself out. Something vital in their partnership is missing. He hates it. Bellamy is increasingly frustrated how Clarke can exist in the same room as him and still feel a million miles away. He misses her.
Yet, he remains passive on the diminished state of them. A part of him hopes these are the customary growing pains of a six-year separation that will work itself out in time. He wants to believe their situation will sort out on its own once they've reacclimated themselves to each other's presence. He doesn't want to tear open the Pandora's Box that is his personal affairs. Namely, his relationships with Clarke and Echo. Doesn't want to think about how they intersect more than he's comfortable with admitting.
E. Raven unearths the drive, scouring for any useful technology she can repurpose for building their new colony. She presents it to Bellamy, proud of herself for finding the tiny device so carefully squirreled away from sight and curious as hell as to why someone went to such lengths to hide it. Bellamy reminds Raven of her more pertinent matters to attend to, to which the mechanic acquiesces with an eye roll. "Fine," she says, "But as soon as I get some free time, I'm cracking it open...so to speak," a wide grin at the prospect.
F. Clarke lands herself in danger, which she doesn't tell Bellamy about. She gets injured, which she also does not tell Bellamy. She explicitly instructs Jackson how her latest excursion is to remain their secret, i.e., don't tell Bellamy. He wants to disagree, an argument loaded on the tip of his tongue and disapproval in his frown. Clarke isn't to be trifled with when she's at her most stubborn- this they all know.
G. Of course, Bellamy finds out anyway. He happens to be the foremost expert in all matters, Clarke Griffin.
H. He goes ashen at the thought that he could have lost her - again - then bloody furious. That's it. That's his last straw. He thunders out of the room, a cacophony of heavy footfalls hunting his wayward co-leader.
I. He finds her in their makeshift lab. It's late, and she looks exhausted. Bellamy takes in her fatigue and softens, his anger abating. Until he notices she's not wearing her jacket. With her tank top showing off her arms, he can see the bandage on her shoulder where the gunshot nearly missed its lethal target. She's caught off guard by his sudden appearance. She isn't quick enough to hide what he's already seen. His fury incites once more.
Of course, Clarke being Clarke, she wouldn't give in without a fight. They chase each other in circles with her sarcastic dismissals and his jabbing rejoinders, the two of them dueling with words until Bellamy can't take it anymore.
"I want the truth." What's happened to us? He gulps. Tries to aim for a less intricate follow-up question. "Why are you pushing me away?"
"You want the truth," Clarke states, skeptical.
"Yes," he replies emphatically.
She stays silent for so long he thinks she'll never answer him. But he isn't backing down. She must come to the same conclusion, because she finally speaks.
"See, I don't think you want the truth of me. I don't think you want to have a choice."
He gapes, bewilderment clear across his features. "What the hell does that mean, Clarke?"
She continues despite the interruption as if she hadn't heard him. Clarke looked lost in her thoughts, contemplative and loose-tongued from the pain medication she'd consumed.
"When you dreamt of the idyllic life you thought you'd have back on Earth, I was supposed to be dead." Bellamy's breath stuttered in his lungs. He wasn't expecting this. "You weren't supposed to have a choice."
Her voice becomes hollow, defeated. Her shoulders slump as she braces backward against the table, so unlike her usual confident stance. She looks away from Bellamy as she says, "But I'm alive. And you still don't want to have to choose. You want easy. You want all the broken pieces of your life and the people in it to slot into place. Seamless. Perfect. Simple. I don't blame you. It's what I hoped would happen, too. And if I were made of stone, like I've pretended when I needed to, I would give that to you. Happiness is what you deserve and nothing less. But I can't do it. I can't switch off what I feel for you."
His ears ring, his hearing muffles as if he's drowning. He's unsure if he's even in his body anymore. Is he a spectral illusion, watching this play out before him? His gut churns with understanding as he reads between the lines of what Clarke is trying to tell him. All the air sucks out from his lungs, and his knees are a short second away from giving out under him.
"Clarke--" he chokes, unsure of what else to say.
She angles her body away from him, turning toward the adjacent wall. Slowly, she says, "If you truly want answers..." quietly, now, "If you truly want to know all the pieces of me that I've hidden from you, you'll find them on the drive Raven found."
His jaw drops. The drive belongs to Clarke? A hundred thoughts flit through his mind in rapid succession, too quick for him to grasp any of it. The pieces of me I've hidden from you, his mind locks onto her words. His chest burns. As fearful as he is of what he'd find, he needs to know. Needs it more than anything. The chance to have answers to every question he'd ever had about the mystery of the woman before him. The woman he---Stop, he chides himself. He can't think about that right now. It seems he can't think at all.
Still, he can't get his legs to move. He's frozen to the spot, unwilling to leave Clarke's presence. A part of him yearns to hold her. Gather her in his arms and chase away the stormcast clouds swirling above her head. He longs to tell her she's not alone in how she feels. Whatever love she has ever held in her heart for him, she has never been alone in it.
Before he can open his mouth, she says, "I'd cordon off a few days if you choose to hear them, if you decide you want to get to the end," a dark chuckle escapes her that Bellamy could swear sounds self-deprecating. With that, she turns and makes her way through the door. He watches her go, lingers long after she's gone, mind racing once more with all that transpired.
He gathers himself, renewed purpose reinvigorating his muscles. This isn't over, not by a long shot. But before he seeks Clarke out again, he needs to know the drive's contents that she clearly poured herself into. He bounds out of the door in search of Raven.

Day Eleven - Christmas dialogue prompts 14 "It's snowing!" & 18 "The snow in your hair... it's so pretty." with Bellamy Blake
masterlist | christmas drabble event (closed) | event masterlist
Tumblr media
You’d never experienced a real winter before. Up on the Ark, the idea of Christmas was still relevant, but it was rare for families to exchange gifts or decorate their homes. Of course, when you looked down at the Earth from your window, you could see one of the areas of ground constantly covered in white, whereas the ground below it, where the United States and Canada used to be, only showed white occasionally.
Now that you were on the ground, safe in the progressing walls of Arkadia, the snow began to fall, leaving everyone astounded at the flakes in the sky. You had been eating in the dining hall with Harper when Monty shouted it out, looking toward the giant window. “It’s snowing!”
The patrons all turned their heads toward the window, a collective gasp echoing through the room. Both you and Harper followed a small group of excited people outside, where a slightly thick layer of snow gathered on the ground. With a smile adorning your face, you reached your arms out to meet the snowflakes, laughing at the chill they left behind as they melted against the warmth of your skin.
You’d forgotten your jacket in the dining hall, but you didn’t care. The snow was something you’ve always wanted to see for yourself, and even if you got sick, you were sure it was worth it.
Turning your face up to the sky, you closed your eyes and embraced the small flakes, standing solitary for what felt like a long time, until warm arms wrapped around your waist, a body pressing against your back. When you opened your eyes and spun around, you smiled at Bellamy, who smiled back and said, “You’re gonna get sick if you’re out here without a jacket,”
“I don’t care,” you smiled, “I love how the snow feels on my skin,”
“Well, regardless,” he said, pulling away to shrug his guard jacket off and draping it around your shoulder, “I don’t want you to catch something. You’re whiny when you’re sick.”
You laughed, placing your hands on your boyfriend’s chest. For a few moments, you simply admired each other in the grey light of the snowy sky, watching the blurry flakes fall around you both in your peripheral vision, smiles adorning your faces.
Bellamy moved his hands, which were resting on your waist, to pull the jacket closer. You took the moment to slip your arms through the sleeves, secretly thankful for the jacket, as the residual heat from Bellamy’s body warmed your cold arms.
“You know,” you started, “this kinda makes you a hypocrite. You gave me your jacket to keep me warm, but now you don’t have one, which means you’re gonna get cold and sick instead of me.”
“Whatever,” Bellamy said, a playful smile twitching on his lips. “It doesn’t matter. As long as you don’t get sick, I’ll be fine.” He brushed your hair out from under the jacket, playing with some of the strands resting on your shoulder. His eyes raked over your frame, soft and admiring, before he muttered, “The snow in your hair… it’s so pretty.”
You couldn’t help the way your cheeks burned at the compliment, happy that you were able to experience snow for the first time alongside the love of your life.

Fighting For... Shifting Sands pt. 2
Tumblr media
Summary: We survived. Though we’re no longer together, separated by space, we survived the end of the human race. There were losses, but in the end, we survived. Six years is a long time. We’re no longer the same, hardened by our time in the unforgiving ground. We’ve managed to survive everything thrown at us so far, but this time, this time, this might be what breaks us. And we might not be able to come back from it.
Warnings: The 100 Themes so blood and gore I guess
Pairings: Bellamy Blake x Reader, Clarke Griffin x Twin!Fem!Reader, Bellamy Blake x Echo

“You chose the shortest route, which makes sense, but the dry seabed is hit by almost constant sandstorms.” “We have the tents from the second dawn. Sand won’t be a problem.” “It’s not just sand. Some of it crystallized in Praimfaya. I’m talking shards of glass like razor blades. Your tents will be torn to shreds and so will you.”
“Find Nyxlana. Tell her the plan.” “She won’t agree to this.” “She hasn’t agreed to anything for four years. It doesn’t matter what she thinks. She’s not Wonkru.”
“The Dokwokru are now our allies. They are no longer the enemy.”
“What happened between YN and Octavia?” “Six years is a long time. It- it wasn’t easy and things happen.”
“YN leads her own clan.” “Nyxlana.” “Shadow queen. YN has a say in what we do. I have to believe that if she knew the dangers of taking the pass, she wouldn’t take it.”
“Today Dokwokru and Wonkru work together. From this moment, we are no longer enemies, but allies. Working together towards one common goal, the valley.”
“Octavia used to be your best friend, your sister, and then she hurt you. She took a part of you, and she became the enemy. And now you’re trusting her? She’s done nothing but hurt you since we brought you back to the bunker.” “You’re right, she’s done everything to lose any ounce of trust I may have held for her. Which is why I’m not trusting her.”
“I’m doing what’s best for my people. They have always been my priority.”
“Even though they have their differences, they’re strong. They’re unified in their people, and in their beliefs.”
“There’s something inside of him.”
Tumblr media
“Get him in the tent!”
Miller and Bellamy picked Obika up as Octavia and Indra rushed to the tent closest to us. I looked over at Kara, shaking my head.
“Nobody else comes inside.”
She nodded, turning and walking out of the tent, closing the tarp behind her.
“Right here. Put him on the table.”
Miller and Bellamy laid Obika onto the table, Clarke rushing to his side.
“Help me get his jacket off.”
I helped Clarke take his shirt and jacket off, Indra stepping forward, looking over at Clarke as Kara walked back into the tent.
“Clarke, what is this?”
Clarke shook her head, glancing at Miller.
“I don’t know. Miller, tell us exactly what happened.”
Miller shook his head, his eyes wide.
“Nothing happened. We stopped to eat. Then we separated again. Next thing I knew, he was screaming.”
“Your rations. Show me.”
Kara scoffed, shaking her head.
“Nothing’s wrong with our rations.”
Clarke huffed, glaring at Kara.
“He was eating when it happened.”
I sighed, shaking my head as I looked over at Clarke.
“Cooper’s right, Clarke. If it was the rations, Miller would have it too. We share everything.”
Clarke huffed, shooting me a look.
“Well, it got in him somehow.”
Bellamy walked forward, shaking his head.
“Wait.”
We watched as he pressed his hand to Obika’s leg, his hand coming back red. He lifted Obika’s pants leg, my eyes widening when I saw the hole in his leg, blood dripping from it.
“Look.”
“It came from the sand.”
Clarke’s eyes widened when she looked over at me, turning towards Octavia.
“We have to go back.”
Octavia scoffed, shaking her head.
“What? No.”
Clarke shook her head, taking a deep breath.
“Octavia, he told Miller that they were everywhere.”
“Yes, but Miller just said he saw nothing.”
Kara nodded, glancing at Clarke.
“Everywhere could mean everywhere inside him. I agree with Blodreina.”
Indra scoffed, rolling her eyes as she glared at Kara.
“What a surprise.”
Octavia shook her head, turning as she walked towards the entrance of the tent.
“We march on at first light.”
I made a face, looking over at Octavia.
“What about Obika?”
“If he’s not better by then, I’ll end his pain myself.”
My eyes widened as Octavia turned, walking out of the tent, Kara following behind her. I looked down at Obika as he slightly thrashed, his face scrunched up in pain. I shook my head, turning.
“YN?”
I walked towards the entrance of the tent, clenching my jaw.
“YN!”
I took a deep breath, turning back around, looking over at Clarke as she slightly shook her head.
“Where are you going?”
“To talk to Blodreina.”
Bellamy’s eyes widened, Clarke calling my name as I turned, walking out of the tent. Clarke made a face, shaking her head as she went to follow. Indra shook her head, calling out to Clarke, causing her to turn towards her.
“What?”
“You should stay here, help Obika if you can.”
“But YN is-”
Indra nodded slightly, sighing softly.
“Knows what she is doing. If anyone can convince Octavia, it’s YN.”
Tumblr media
“Something’s coming!”
Clarke’s eyes widened as she looked at the dark clouds, muttering.
“Sandstorm.”
Bellamy turned, looking up at the clouds, shaking his head.
“It’s blocking the way back.”
“Can we outrun it?”
Clarke nodded slightly, shrugging as she looked over at Indra.
“As long as it keeps moving laterally from east to west, we shouldn’t have to, but if the wind shifts-”
Octavia shook her head, huffing.
“The wind hasn’t met Wonkru and Dokwokru. Now there’s no choice. Keep moving.”
Bellamy made a face, turning towards Octavia.
“Keep moving? Thanks to you, we’re stuck between razor-blade winds and burrowing, parasitic bugs.”
Octavia scoffed, glaring up at Bellamy.
“Thanks to you, we’re at war, Bellamy.”
Bellamy shook his head, glancing at where YN was standing, watching as she waved her hand around, yelling at the man standing in front of her, the two standing toe to toe.
“Only if you insist on fighting it.”
“Fight or die. That’s all there is. You don’t understand.”
Octavia nodded, taking a deep breath.
“I get it. Because you’re not one of us.”
“Is Obika one of you? Because you’re about to end his life like he means nothing. I understand that.”
Bellamy nodded towards YN, scoffing.
“At least YN showed emotion when her friend died.”
Octavia huffed a laugh, shaking her head as she looked up at Bellamy.
“YN isn’t the little girl you remember Bellamy, and neither am I.”
Bellamy stepped forward, glaring down at her when Kara stepped forward, unsheathing her sword.
“Cooper, no.”
Clarke grabbed Bellamy’s arm, trying to pull him back.
“Bellamy.”
Octavia glared up at Bellamy, tilting her head to the side.
“Easy. I’d stop if I were you.”
Bellamy looked over Octavia’s shoulder when he heard heavy footsteps, his eyes widening as he watched as YN walked towards them, a scowl on her face as her guards followed behind her. YN moved between him and Octavia, glaring at Octavia as he guards lifted their guns, aiming at Octavia’s guards when they turned their weapons to her.
“Grow up. We have more important things to wor-”
She turned her head to the side when Obika screamed, turning and running towards the tent. Bellamy glanced over at Octavia before he took off, following after YN. Clarke entered the tent not long after he did, yelling.
“Hold him down!”
Everyone grabbed onto Obika as he thrashed around. Obika’s skin started to move before it burst, sending the worms everywhere. Everyone jumped back when Bellamy yelled.
“Everyone out! Now! Go!”
He grabbed YN when she was just standing there, pulling her out of the tent. He kept her close to him as they ran towards the others, YN falling to the ground as Octavia yelled at Indra.
“Indra! Burn it down! Kill them all!”
Indra grabbed a torch, throwing it into the tent and zipping it up as the fire spread. Bellamy went to kneel next to YN when Delani ran forward, falling to his knees in front of YN, placing his hand on YN’s face, drawing her attention to him when Octavia screamed, falling to the ground.
Tumblr media
“I can’t feel my legs.”
“It must be venom.”
Clarke looked around as Octavia was brought into the tent, nodding to herself.
“Put her arm on the table. We can’t let it get into her torso. I need you to make a tourniquet out of whatever you can find. And get me a med kit!”
Everyone rushed to get Clarke what she needed as I helped hold Octavia in place. I looked down when something brushed against my hand, seeing Octavia’s hand trying to grab mine. I looked over at Octavia, seeing the pleading look in her eyes as Miller grabbed the tourniquet.
“There were dozens of those worms. They must lay their eggs-”
I shook my head as I placed my hand in Octavia’s, glaring at Kara as I pointed towards the entrance.
“Get out!”
Kara nodded as she walked out of the tent, Clarke tying the tourniquet to Octavia’s arm, causing Octavia to wince as I looked over at Clarke.
“Will that stop it?”
Clarke glanced up at me, shaking her head.
“It’s not for the worm. It’s for the blood. I need a knife, now!”
I reached for my hip, unsheathing my knife and handing it to her.
“Whatever you’re going to do, do it.”
Clarke nodded, taking the knife from me, glancing at Octavia.
“This is gonna hurt.”
“Just pull it out.”
Clarke dug the knife into Octavia’s arm, her grip on my hand tightening as she gasped.
“Please, if you can hear me, this is an emergency.”
I jumped slightly, looking over at Bellamy as he grabbed the radio at his side. Clarke turned towards Bellamy, nodding.
“Go, I got this.”
Bellamy nodded, pressing the button on the side of the radio as Clarke dug deeper into Octavia’s arm.
“Monty it’s me. Something tells me we got your emergency beat.”
“I doubt that. The prisoners have an eye in the sky on the mothership. And a missile system on their transport ship. They’re on the way to you right now, you have to move. Hide somewhere. Take cover.”
“Hide from an eye in the sky? How are we supposed to do that?”
“Murphy says we have friends inside. If he’s right, the eye won’t be watching. You have a window, but you have to move now.”
Clarke pulled the worm free, placing it in the jar Miller held as Indra scoffed, shaking her head.
“Where do we find cover from missiles in the middle of a wasteland?”
“If they see us retreat, they’ll stand down.”
“You still don’t understand.”
Octavia coughed, shaking her head.
“Wonkru does not retreat.”
She looked up at me, nodding slightly as she squeezed my hand.
“Neither does Dokwokru.”
I sighed, nodding as I looked over at Bellamy.
“She’s right. Everyone here will not retreat.”
Bellamy looked at me, shaking his head.
“You do if you want to live.”
Indra shook her head, looking between me and Bellamy.
“Now is not the time for a debate. Even if we did retreat, the path home puts us in the middle of a sandstorm.”
Octavia sat up, holding onto me as she stood, glaring at Bellamy.
“Those ruines are not our home. That valley is, and we’re taking it back.”
Clarke shook her head, reaching for Octavia.
“Octavia, easy. The venom’s still in your system.”
Octavia held onto my arm as she leaned into me, limping towards the entrance. She nodded up at me, shooting me a look before she glanced at the others.
“Get ready to understand.”
Tumblr media
“Are you sure about this?”
I looked up at Delani, shaking my head as he looked around us.
“No. Not even a little bit. But the storms coming, no matter what we do.”
Delani nodded as we joined Octavia at the front, Octavia nodding at me as I fell into step beside her. The further we went, the more I felt like my skin was being cut off before Octavia grabbed my arm. I helped Octavia onto the ground, seeing Bellamy and Clarke being forced to the ground near Octavia’s legs. I looked over at Indra, sharing a look with her as we were surrounded by our people, forming a barrier between us and the storm, Indra’s voice carrying as she yelled.
“Hold! Hold!”
Tumblr media
When the sandstorm cleared, everyone moved to check on those who were injured from the storm. I was helping my people when I heard someone scream, turning and looking around, spotting Indra on the ground. I got up, rushing to her side as Octavia knelt down beside her, blood dripping from her mouth.
“What’s wrong with her? Is it a worm?”
Clarke shook her head, kneeling beside me, checking Indra over.
“I don’t think so. I’m guessing there’s glass in her lungs.”
Clarke looked up, looking between me and Octavia.
“We gotta get her back to Polis.”
“Blodreina.”
Octavia stood, watching as Miller walked towards us.
“There’s eleven dead. Twelve including Obika.”
Octavia turned towards me, tilting her head to the side.
“How many have you lost?”
“Including Rex, fifteen.”
Octavia nodded, turning back towards Miller.
“Take their weapons and their armor. Leave the bodies.”
I made a face, turning to look over at Octavia.
“Leave them?”
Octavia nodded, looking over at Kara.
“There’s no time. The enemy can see us. Sound the retreat.”
Kara nodded, moving to walk off when I stood up, grabbing Octavia’s arm, turning her towards me. Kara unsheathed her sword, Octavia’s remaining guard doing the same as mine came running towards us, surrounding Octavia’s guards, their weapons trained on them. Octavia looked down at my hand on her arm before she slowly looked up at me, glaring at me.
“Let me go.”
I scoffed, letting her arm go, shaking my head.
“I’m not leaving my people behind.”
Octavia huffed, stepping closer to me.
“You don’t have a choice.”
“There’s always a choice.”
“Tell your people to stand down.”
I shook my head, taking a deep breath.
“Tell yours.”
Octavia lifted her hand, her guards lowering their weapons, taking a small step back.
“We’re on the same side, YN.”
I shook my head, stepping back.
“No. No we’re not. I never should’ve allowed you to talk me into something I didn’t believe in. When we return to Polis, Wonkru and Dokwokru are no longer allies.”
I looked up when there was a horn, everyone going on the defensive when they stopped, my eyes widening when I saw the rover. Everyone aimed their guns at the rover when the driver door swung open, a little girl jumping out. I watched as she looked around before her eyes lit up in recognition, watching as she ran forward. I turned when I saw Clarke take off, watching as they both met in the middle, Clarke hugging the girl close to her as she lifted her off the ground. I looked back over at the rover when I saw more movement, watching as the others climbed out of the rover, looking around. Monty and Harper waved slightly at me, causing me to slowly lift my hand as I waved back. Echo was the last to climb out of the rover, Bellamy running past me and towards her. They wrapped their arms around each other, Bellamy leaning down slightly and kissing her. My eyes widened when someone placed their hand on my shoulder, causing me to jump slightly as I turned, seeing Delani standing behind me.
“Come on.”
I nodded slowly, letting Delani lead me away from the group, the image of Bellamy and Echo kissing flashing before me as Octavia watched me walk off.
Tumblr media
Clarke set Madi back down onto the ground, smiling at her.
“There’s someone I want you to meet.”
Madi made a slight face, tilting her head to the side.
“Who?”
Clarke stood up, holding Madi’s hand in hers as she looked around.
“Someone who you’ll love. They’ll absolutely adore you, I promise.”
Clarke came to a stop when she saw Bellamy and Echo kissing, watching as the two of them parted, speaking low before they turned, Bellamy looking around before his shoulder’s fell, turning back towards Echo.
“Clarke?”
Clarke shook her head, looking down at Madi.
“Come on Madi. We need to go and find your ani.” (aunt)

Ch 7 - Survival is what's left
Tumblr media
Ch 8
Rory drops down from me carrying her on my back once I had her change clothes. My hair is barely pulled back like my mom use to do hers three months ago. Bellamy tugs on my jacket sleeve and when I look I see him holding my bracelet in his palm. Slowly I take it in my hands, tossing it around. I remember the day he gave this to me when dad had come and found me near the airlock, still on my knees bawling as I had seen someone get floated by his order - he locked me in our room for a whole week. I had managed to grab a radio from a guard- calling for Bell. He slide it under my door and we both sat with our backs to each side of the door talking for hours until my dad came home from work. Bellamy wraps it back around my right wrist, pulling my necklace off and putting it around Rory's neck. Her hair falls all over her now and she eyes everything with confusion and wonder at the same time- her eyes glazed over craving adventure.
Mom comes over with dad and she bolts to them. Jumping up into their arms, at first they're surprised but soon embraced her back tightly. Tears come down my face a little as Bellamy takes my hand, rubbing circles on my thumb with his own "she's so innocent- barely knows What's going on. How is she supposed to handle the end of the world?" He trails off in thought. Leaning my head on his shoulder I sigh "I have no idea - Allie just said she needed to be older to have a better chance at surviving....I feel like that's all we ever do" he kisses my forehead with a sigh before Clarke walks to us.
"No sign of Octavia, but she can take care of herself - how are you guys?" Crossing her arms over her chest as I notice her wounds from mom's torture. Standing up straight again I say "Tired - frustrated- scared for Rory....I'm done with surviving!" My sister nods her head in approval of my statement, voicing to us both in fear. "How do we tell these people that the world is ending after everything they've been through?"
My eyes watch rory messing with my dad's beard and mom removing the guard baton from her little belt. When I imagined her being born it wasn't surrounded by blood and the end of the world. It was us all living peacefully with the grounders in Arkadia - having her wear her own little guard jacket and playing with grandpa Kane and grandma Abby while Bellamy and I got some much needed rest or even just got to sit out under the stairs together all of us. Now I guess that dream is gone. Rory locks eyes with the three of us and she pulls her grandparents over with us. Hey innocent voice laughs "grandpa Kane said he'd get me a jacket like daddy's and grandma Abby says I can help her in medical with basic stuff." Bending down to her level I state "that's great sweetheart- but right now I need you to stay close to me or your dad alright." She nods her head before I carry her on my shoulder with my gun on the other and surprisingly she doesn't try and reach for it.
Our boots are shocked in blood of both grounders and Skaikru. Roan lays on the ground as we reach him. A sword nearly meets mom's neck as she explains "I can save him - but you have to let me."
Dad pulls her back a little as echo - a grounder I 100% don't trust draws her sword pulling Clarke close to her with it at her neck. Clarke looks at me when rory drops to her feet from my arms, racing to her aunt. Echo noticed and holds her hostage instead. Drawing my gun I aim directly at her face, rory's teary eyes meet mine.
"Mommy- daddy!" She cries out in fear.
Bellamy hollers out rushing to see our situation "let her go echo - let her go!" He demands while dad tries to stop him from advancing. He also steps near me, telling "lower the gun Kristin..."
"Dad she has Rory!" I cut him short and he explains the outcome.
"Well you shooting her won't fix anything. It'll only scar Rory more than this world already has - do you want her to see her own mother kill someone to save her life." I slowly lower the gun and she pushes rory forward. Bellamy and I clutch her in our arms. Echo ordered that if any Skycru leaves or tried they will be killed. Clarke looks down at me and bell still kneeling down to keep our daughter safe. She mouths a 'I'm sorry'.
We're hidden under the tower. Rory holds my hand as I stand next to mom. Bellamy is next to Clarke and O is hidden in the back. Dad steps up when mom talks about heading home to avoid a war "They know where we live. If we run, they'll follow."
Clarke explains the real big problem "the problem is, there's no time for a fight. "
Mom glances between her two daughters in question "wait a second. What don't we know?"
"The reason the city of light was created..." I trailed off, looking her directly in the eye. Dad steps taking my freedhand in his "why?"
Clarke continued "nuclear reactors inside power plants that survived the bombs are melting down. Radiation levels are already rising. If we can't figure out a way to fix it, all of us will be dead in 6 months. "
Night comes and mom helps Clarke save the king. Indra, dad and I stand in an ally with bell. Rory sits down by Murphy- which I don't like one bit. Facing indra she tells me and bell about echo - she will only talk to us "very dangerous- very loyal."
Dad takes my gun in his hand and puts a hand to my shoulder. Glancing over his shoulder at his niece before explaining "Bellamy - Kristin. Neither of you can lose control. You offer them technology, guns, whatever it takes to keep her talking."
"Mom, dad..you're coming back right?" Rory questions holding onto the necklace. Bell bends down, brushing hair from her face "you bet, can't leave our little princess Rory alone."
Dad holds her tiny hand as Bellamy and I walk out to see echo. He holds my hand in his gently squeezing it a few times for strength. Echo ordered "what are the terms of your surrender?"
Bell steps "we recognize ice nation rule, and you honor lexa's coalition, including the 13th clan."
I step closer to her voicing "echo we can have peace - that's all we want for our people and for - our daughter." Bellamy looks down at me for a split second before we focus on her.
Echo states harsh, ignoring my plea "no"
Bellamy resorts back "we'll give you guns and show you how to use them." My eyes glance down at my bracelet as I keep tugging on it from behind my back- as a signal to o telling them to hurry up.
Echo mentioned what pike and bell did and I see him struggling to hold in tears for taking lives. I don't fully trust grounders but I'm never up to fully killing off a whole army or more. Bellamy fires back "the alternative is war. Is that what you want?"
Echo mentioned "no one wants war. Lay down your guns, and we'll let your children live." My eyes shoot up to bell with fear. We can't let them hurt Rory.
Echo tried to leave but bell grabs her arm, forcing both grounders and Skaikru to stoop and nearly point weapons at each other. Lifting my shirt up I take hold of my pocket knife - wanting to draw it on her. Echo throws Bellamy to the floor and holds a knife to his throat. I pull mine out and hold the tip against her neck. Grounders draw weapons but all I can focus on is bell.
Dad steps forward a little gun raised when rory grips his leg. "Kristin release the knife!" He warns me. My eyes lock onto echo answering "you both are now." Felling a sword poking me in my back lightly making me freeze. Mom Clarke I swear to gosh you better save him already!
Echo demands to my dad "guns on the ground, or they both die!"
Dad picked up rory in his arms muttering and ordering to rory "grandma Abby will come through - do as she says!" Weapons drop as bell and I are drug upstairs, swords at our throats. Clarke and mom are thrown down to the ground as Roan looks at all of us, possibly planning to kill us all.
Now we sit in a cell, all cuffed. Rory lays in my lap as I sit in between my dad and Bellamy who stand. Octavia leans back on the wall with her arms crossed. Clarke and mom sit on the floor as she cries about the flame - I never understood what she saw in dating her, but I can't be one to judge.
Guards opened the doors ordering "Wanheda, Skygirl, on your feet." Clarke and I stand as Rory cries when her aunt c yells "where's the king - I need to see Roan!"
Cuffs are placed on me with bags over our heads. Bellamy, dad, rory and mom call out.
"Hey, hey!" Bell forcefully pulling on his cuffs.
Mom cried out "no!" As Rory sobs "mommy!"
Dad calls out "where are you taking them!" Bell screams as I struggle against echo's hold not wanting to die "Echo, listen to me. Echo! Uh! Echo!....Kristin!"
Roan made a speech and we were free to go home. Once on the ground rory bolts to me as I'm on knees and we both sob. "Oh my baby girl - it's okay, I'm okay." She varies her head in my neck as she keeps crying. My heart keeps breaking each time she does - a seven year old shouldn't have to see this or go through it. Bellamy comes back over with a piece of metal in his hand, with his other he helps us up. Wiping my tears away he said " time to go girls."
Dad hugs rory and hands her a tiny guard jacket from one of the ark kids whose wearing a different one now. Mom comes over and hugs me tightly whispering "Protect yourself and your family Kristin - I'll see you again and I love you." I nod my head "love ya too mom."
Rory goes to Clarke as I'm with my dad and bell. "We'll do our best to keep the king on his throne." I hug my dad and hugs me back tightly, Kissing my forehead softly "and I'll keep our family safe. I love you dad."
Bellamy takes my hand in his abd starts to leave yet dad grabs his forearm "you turn the page - you turn the page, and you don't look back." He stares intentionally into Bell's eyes as I give my dad a weak smile, he tells me our modo "you do better today than you did yesterday" before we head for the gate.
Clarke walks with Rory holding her hand with hers. Bellamy and I walk beside them, guns in hands. I whispered in his ear as we walk "Before you know it, you'll deserve to survive. You got it bell - for Rory." He replied "for Rory."
Focusing on Clarke he asks "ok, princess. What now?" Rory smiled up at us as Clarke answered "Now we survive..." I finish "and we do better than we did yesterday." Now we're off to save the human race.
Rory is basically always on her dad's hip and I've been helping raven with ordering people around. Bell sighs in frustration as we talk about rationing "well, if there's one thing our people understand, it's rationing." Rory twirls a piece of her hair before I hear bell tell raven "well I won't be starving because I won't be inside." My hands cover her ears quickly as tears form in her eyes. She run to Clarke who explained that he didn't mean it while I drag him forcefully by his forearm into the hallway. Bellamy glares at me before I curse. "Bellamy Blake what the hell!"
He sighs, running his hands down his face in frustration- taking my hands in his softly saying "Kristin - I didn't mean it like that. Clarke hasn't made the list yet, I couldn't even be on it."
I growl up at him. "I get that but - yes, you will....you're bethany's father. You're a great leader- they need you." He kisses my forehead pulling me into his chest, runing his fingers through my hair he breathes "I love you Kristin - you care about our people so much, your a badass with a gun and you're as fiery as your mother. You have your dad's leader skills. If anything I need you to keep us all alive....Rory needs her mom." I lean up Kissing his lips and he responds Kissing me back deeply before we head back to my sister and raven. Mom breaks through the crowd as grounders who are sick appear at our door. Bellamy tries to hold me back while holding rory. Clarke leans down next to mom as I step forward looking the sick over. Mom had been teaching me all she knew about being a doctor.
"Mom what is this?" Clarke asks.
Mom stated the symptoms "fever, lesions, vomiting." Her eyes go up to me as I gulp.
Clarke looks at me confused before mom finishes "- it's ARS."
"What's ARS?" Bell questions, tugging rory closer to him than before.
Steadying my breaths, I look to mom and then to bell. "Acute Radiation Sickness."
Once mom helps get them to medical. Bellamy leans down with Clarke over the dead body- while rory helps the sick inside. Sighing I lean down with them, brushing my hair out of my eyes I start breathing rapidly. Clarke states "it's already here."
Jaha came up with a crazy plan to find a bunker. Bellamy says fast "I'll drive." Clarke gets in the back with jaha, while I jump in the passage seat. Rory stands on the ground her arms crossed- wanting to come. Locking gazes with bell I give him puppy dog eyes to which he allows me to bring her along. She sits on my lap and giggles happily as we drive to the bunker. I tried to listen about the bunker yet Rory's happiness distracted me - I'd never thought I get to see her like that.
Nigh finally hits when we reach the bunker site. Bellamy, Clarke and Jaha get out first as I softly wake rory. "Hey princess - time to get up." She pushes herself our of the backseat of the rover. We quickly walk up to meet the others, rory holds my hand tightly as we step in the woods.
Clarke questioned as she stepped forward before the rest of us, flicking her flashlight around "So what exactly are we looking for?"
Bellamy loops an arm around my waist calling out to her "anything structural. Be careful." Rory tugs on my jacket sleeve, begging "mommy can we go find butterflies?"
Looking at bell he nods slowly. I pick rory up in my arms, slowly walking out in the woods. Butterflies come around us and rory claps her hands as they fly around us. One lands on her nose and she squeals. During her happiness I try to hear Bellamy's conversation with Jaha.
"She's lucky to have you. Leadership is a lonely pursuit, but you - you keep her centered.....Besides I don't know much about Kane's daughter but she's- like her mother and father in many ways, your daughter looks up to the both of you." He tells him.
Bell replied, glancing my way to make sure we're ok. "You got it backwards about me and Clarke - and Bethany's only 7. In all honesty Kristin and I have looked out for one another her whole life. Her dad doesn't let emotions control his actions on everything - yet y/n acts like him sometimes and she wants to protect people like her mom...she's the best parts of both of them." He finished watching Rory twirl around in circles by butterflies flying around her, giggling out in amazement. I throw my head back in laughter and dancing around her, glancing over at Bellamy every few seconds. He still has his guard up but I see a bright smile on my face - enjoying our family moment from a few feet away.
Clarke hollers out to us. I pick rory up quickly- running to the area "over here!"
Bellamy sighs, warning us as I'm directly behind his back "huh. Stay behind me." Rory reached up her hand and gets a spiderweb on her fingers, she smacks her hands around trying to get it off. Panting at the same pace as bell I state to the others "watch your heads."
We reach the door and bell states with a smile to rory. "Or from the outside by somebody with a rover - ah princess." The three of us get in the rover. Rory sits on Bellamy's lap as he's driving the rover. Jaha, Clarke and I watch them. Rory helps him turn the wheel while he slams on the gas, forcing the hook attached to the bunker door. The tires harshly force forward as rory shouts a little in frustration while Bellamy keeps slamming gas "come on daddy's rover!" I laugh a little at them just before something snaps.
Clarke steps near me "what happened?" Taking my hand in her freehand. Bellamy opened the door, Jumping out of the rover with Rory in his arms "let's go find out." Stepping in the door bell uses a flare and riley shrinks into Bell's jacket in honor. Dead bodies of skulls are the only thing inside and I slowly closed my eyes in fear, hearing bell explain "the radiation would have killed them in days. This won't save anyone."
Rory is asleep in my arms as I kick open the door to mine and Bell's room- laying her down on the bed and tucking her in. Boots hitting the ground makes me turn around to see mom walk in. She had to see a child die today. Facing Rory I watch her chest rise and fall - I don't know what I'd do if something happened to her. Mom sits down the on the bed next to me, resting a hand on my shoulder "I'll watch her - they need you in there." Leaning over I kiss rory's forehead before getting up saying in a whisper not to wake her "thanks, I'll be back in a little while." before walking to the chancellor's office.
Bellamy lays asleep on the couch as Clarke sits writing the list. I lean over the table reading the names seeing my name is number 98. 2 more spots left and I don't see her or Bell's name on it. Breaking the intense silence "why isn't your name on their sis?" Clarke looks up at me as my hair falls over my shoulders, tears run down her face as she sniffling "Kristin I- I can't."
Placing a hand on her shoulder I order like my dad "yes you can - we need you - I need you." She picks up the pen, writing down bells name at 99. One spot left- she has to take it. Bellamy wakes up, walking over to us. We look each other in the eye and he sees tears welling up in mine, directing my gaze down to the list and Clarke.
He tells her in his lesser tone "if I'm on that list you're on that list." Clarke sighs, sniffing with a hand in her hair and tears running down her face "Bellamy I can't-"
He cuts her off, saying "write it down. Write it down or I will." He turns the paper towards him and writes her name down. I sigh heavily as he wrapped an arm around me before placing a hand on her shoulder.
Clarke choked "so what now?" I sigh in a reply "now we put it away and hope we never have to use it."
She asks in disbelief "you two still have hope?" Bell answers "we're still breathing." Clarke takes his hand in hers and puts her hand down on top of them. Closing my eyes I rest my head on Bellamy's shoulder. At some point we'll know more than just survival.
Morning comes and I roll over to watch Rory still asleep. Bellamy left a hour ago to go hunting and he insisted I stayed. Dad is in polis and mom is heading to make nightblood. Clarke slowly opened the door and rory steered I placed a hand on her shoulder and she stops "sorry I- I didn't mean to wake you both, but I need your help Roan is coming here with an army." Sitting up in the bed tossing the covers aside I lace my combat boots on. Trying to fix my hair the best I can before rory's voice comes "aunt c, mom - What's going on?" Clarke helps her out of bed and explains "I need your guys help..." she turns to me as I throw my gun over my shoulder I raise an eyebrow when she steps in a low whisper asking for permission.
"Can she carry a gun - shoot if possible?" I nearly passed out. Wanting to slap her in the face. My heart races as I struggle for words "no she's not - Bellamy and I haven't- ah I'd have to teach her. Why would she need one I thought we're trying to prevent war?"
Clarke sighs, pulling out a small handgun when Rory is with us. Bending down on one knee with it in my hand, I tell her
"Rory listen to me. This is a weapon ok - not a toy - it can kill somebody if used.  Only pull this trigger when someone is trying to hurt ok...don't shoot anyone wearing the Arkadia guard jacket okay!" Rory locks eyes with and stutters, once I place the gun in her belt. Zipping up her guard jacket she wears pushing her hair around to fix it. "Just like the baton - only self defense right." I nod my head, kissing her forehead before Clarke leads us to Roan.
Guns surrounded grounders as Clarke and I walk out to Roan. Rory is behind us holding her gun. I raise my gun up as Clarke shouts "we need to talk!" Roan ignores and reveals his archers. One shot fired on either side will start a war. Grounders bring forward two people under cloaks, once removed I hear Rory gasp. Seeing her dad and grandpa kane restrained in front of her, she lifts the gun up I snap back at her in a whisper "Bethany Blake no!" She listens turning back I lock gazes with bell and my dad, muttering under my breath "Bellamy- dad."
Roan snickered "you're move, Wanheda and Skygirls." I slowly lower my rifle, still holding my finger on the trigger. Looking over to Clarke for an order. She looks up to our guards in the rocks then to the grounder army in front of her, holding Bellamy and Kane hostage. Finally she calls out "ten minutes, that's all I ask." Rosn follows her as I raise my rifle back towards echo. Over the radio on my belt I gasp when Monty orders. 'Stop targeting. Over. Riley, respond!'
I swear if he messes this up I'm gonna shoot him. Riley voiced over the radio 'Negotiating with these people is a waste of time. We have the high ground. We have the guns. We should just take them out.'
Lowering my rifle and placing the radio up to my lips I cursed "dammit Riley, everyone's lives are at stake - we've already been in war once. I'm not gonna do that again. Stand down or I'll make you do it myself!" Rory runs to my side, watching the army in fear. Dad stammers when echo tells them if we fire one shot to kill us all "this us insane. They knew you were coming! We have thousands of rounds. You'll be the ones with no one left!"
Bellamy takes a big breath before a smile meets his face when I look over my scope I hear him say. "They thought they had the element of suprise, but we did. She's alive." A smile meets my face as he's referring to Octavia.
Riley somehow gets away and I growl out in anger. Monty comes down unarmed like an idoit. Rory watches him "one of our people has moved out of formation. I've reason to believe he's trying to kill your king. "
Bellamy fires back to echo as rory and I slowly stepped forward my rifle raised down. 'Why'd you he's telling you this. He's trying to stop a massacre!" Dad asks "who is it?
I answer harshly "Riley!" Echo stats to hunt for him but dad butts in "wait. If our snipers see archers on the move, they'll open fire- tell her!"  Stepping up rory shouts "those are our orders." Bell lowers his head down once he sees the gun in her hands as does dad whose eyes go big. Bellamy pleads "Kristin and I know riley. Let us come with you. "
Dad gets my radio and uses his chancellor voice "this is chancellor Kane. Listen to me. Bellamy and my daughter are working together with one of theirs to find riley. You let them through, understood."
Echo orders "take his chains off - put them on these two." Eyeing Monty and rory as they're thrown to the ground. Dad breaths heavy as we make eye contact not needing to say it outloud. I'll keep her safe - you both do the same.
Dad takes rory's shack hand in his and mutters "it's okay- I'm right here. You're parents will save us." She lays her head on his arm and I nearly cry.
Bellamy and I walk in front of her. My rifle still in hand. Bellamy threatened her death after she mentioned o. "If you had killed her, these chains would be around your neck." I let out a wicked snicker. When we reach riley I race forward aiming my rifle up at him, Bellamy hollers "riley, stop. Riley, you don't want to do this."
Riley snaps "get out of here, Bellamy - you too Kristin!" I step closer to him - ready to pull the trigger if need be. Echo draws her bow and bell stammers getting near riley. "Kristin echo - wait. If you fire so will he." My eyes lock with his for a split second before focusing back on Riley. Bellamy begs "Riley, riley, listen to me. Pulling that trigger won't end anything. Kane and Monty along with my own daughter will ne executed, and our side will open fire. It'll be a bloodbath."
Riley turned "you're a prisoner. You're just saying what they want you to say. I know all about that." I step even closer to him, demanding "Riley you idiot - put the gun down. If you don't my daughter Bethany will die.....I won't hesitate to shoot you here!" Tears come down my face in fear and frustration.
Echo draws further causing Bellamy to jump in front of my gun and her bow. Barking out in tears I question "Bellamy what the hell are you thinking!" He looks over his shoulder, begging to riley "riley, stand down, ok. I am begging you. I know how you feel about them, and I know what they did to man - but your life -- your life was saved. For a reason and this isn't it....please!"
He keeps going once he's next to riley letting tears fall "war made me a murderer. Don't let it happen to you." Riley drops the gun and cries causing Bellamy to confront him. Fully stepping up to them I snatch his gun from his reach, sighing in relief. "Dad was right back then - only members of the guard should get guns, trainees no." Bellamy looks up at me as I sling his over my shoulder, gripping mine in my hands again. Like I said I won't let my daughter die.
Getting down to the ground Clarke asks in concern "Bellamy, Kristin. Are you okay," he pulls me to his side, now holding rileys rifle "no one dies today." He answered. An explosion is heard and Clarke stated terrified "it came from Arkadia." We all race towards it to see the ship blowing up and burning.
Bellamy says frantically "I have to find my sister!" Clarke and I are on his table searching before I hear my girls cry "mommy!" Rory's feet race towards me and she knocks me into the dirt, I grip onto her for fear life - letting myself cry that she's alright. Dad races up to us, panting "Kristin - rory. Here" he holds out a hand and he pulls us up. Bellamy finds o and Clarke helps the others. O coughs "it was Ilian. I tried to stop him." My eyes look to see him standing - just another person on my hate or kill list. Rory runs to her aunts and dad as another explosion goes off. Tears fall down my face and I nearly drop on the ground but dad wrapped his arms around me holding me up. "We're all gonna die - we're gonna- die. Dad I- I don't- want to - to die!" I sob into his chest as the ship keeps exploding and metal breaks. He runs a hand through my hair as tears fall down his face too. He mumbles into my hair "Kristin it's gonna be okay - I've got you - daddy's got you..." before raising a hand to block the heat from hitting us. Turning my head barely I see o clutching bell and rory clutching them both. Tears fall down her face when I see bell close his eyes for a moment pulling them closer to him, crying a little too. The noise of people shouting and the ship going down is all I hear over my cries and feeling my dad grip me harder in his arms then he's ever has. We're gonna die!
People are furious and running to kill the guy who destroyed the ship. Dad bolts to save and I race behind him, rifle in hand. Chaos is around us as they start beating him to death. Forcing ourselves through the ground dad orders "get off of him! Hey off of him ! Get off!" Dad forces people off of him while I kick them away with the butt of my gun, demanding in a leader tone "get out ! Get off! So help me !" A gunshot rings off in the room and the shouting stops. Facing my dad I see him holding his handgun out and demanding in his chancellor voice "I will shoot the next person who touches this man, so help me."
Everyone starts leaving and I slowly step towards my dad panting when he doesn't lower the gun, but eyes me sighing "good choice." Chaos just what we need with the end of the world right.
Bellamy asks hopeful with Rory at his hip arms crossed "Is there any good news?" Dad sighs, when I run a hand through my hair in frustration 'well, no one died. Kristin and I made sure of that." He takes my freehand in his, trying to get me to calm down my nerves and anger. Clarke talks about the trip planned, bell states in fear 'it isn't gonna be an easy ride."
Rory tugs on his jacket and he looks down at her shaking his head no. Directing my question to bell I ask "what don't I know?" Bell bends his head down not answering me. I'm guessing it was a private matter or it's so bad he doesn't want me to stress out more than I already am. Dad's voice breaks my thoughts as he squeezes my hand in frustration "after what happened with Ilian. I can't spare many of the guard to protect you. Bellamy leaves to find o as rory is no where to be found. Clarke and I are about to head out when dad calls "Clarke, Kristin, I'm going with you."
Facing dad I sigh, rubbing my hands down my jacket sleeves. Clarke explained the reason why he couldn't go. "You can't. "
Dad fights back, pulling his jacket on. Looking me and Clarke in the eyes "I'm the chancellor - and you're father." Clarke continued. "that's why you can't - and Kristin neither can you. After everything that happened this morning, our people need you both here, now more than ever."
"Clarke, Bellamy's going." I try but she stepped "I know and I'll look out for him. But you also need to protect my niece Bethany- what better place to do that then here." Running my hands over my face I sit down in front of the table, listening to them talk. "I know you're worried about our mother."
Dad stutters "she's going into space...in a 100 year - old rocket. Do you have any idea how many things could go wrong."
Clarke sighs looking my way as I lay my head down on the table. I knew why I needed to stay but - I wanted to help. It runs in our families blood. Always has - always will.
Clarke finishes "I'll send her your love."
Dad answers fast "yes. Please do that." Before the hug. Clarke and I hug before she goes.
Resting my chin on my hands I sigh, with rapid breathing. Dad rest a hand on my shoulder stating "I know that look Kristin" looking up at him, he says "that's you're I'm either gonna defy orders or kill someone look."
He gets down on one knee, putting a hand to my cheek he sees my tired eyes and wipes away tears with his thumb. "Dad I- he's doomed us all. If I follow bell I can at least be more helpful there. Here I'm no help - I'm not you."
He shakes his head no, stating "that's not true. You helped me this morning, you know medical skills and you lead with your heart. Kristin I need you by my side.....and I've never told you this but on the ark I never let you get too close to the outside to protect you from being caught but also because I was afraid you'd never want to lead - lead our people with me.....I need you queen blake." He had tears in his eyes as do I when I smirk as he used Bell's nickname.
He stands with me when I throw my arms around him - needing to just be in my dad's arms for a moment. He hugs me back tightly, Kissing my forehead and running his fingers calming through my free flowing hair. We have always been strong but there's only so much a person can take. Pulling apart I say in choked breathing "I'll stay for the both of us - what do ya say princess Rory want to help us?" I don't hear her voice and I bolt when I hear the rover start. Dad and I run through the ship calling out her name. Yet nothing when we reach the gate I see the rovers gone. Dad runs up to me, out of breath. "I'm having the guard check around.."
Running a hand through my hair I growl. "No need I know where she is." Dad raises an eyebrow at me, waiting for my answer. I groan out, shoving my hands in my jacket pockets in worry and horror of what could happen and that Bellamy has no clue she's there. "She's with her dad."
Bellamy's POV
Clarke sits in the passenger seat as I drive. I'm worried that things could go wrong. Clarke asks "is it Octavia?" I don't answer but hear rustling in the backseat. A head popped out and her sweet voice came out "daddy!"
Slamming on the breaks I spin around to see the other truck stop. Demanding an answer from my baby girl "Bethany Rory Blake - what the hell are you doing here!"
Clarke turned to her, asking "Does Kristin know you're here?"
Rory shakes her head no, tilting it down in fear. I sigh in frustration grabbing the radio I call "Arkadia come in, Kristin come in!"
Static at first before her voice came over the radio. 'Bellamy- Bethany's missing. She's with you."
I cut in "yeah I know. I'd bring her back but we're too far and we don't have time to waste....I'll keep her safe. I love you."
She says ' thank you, I understand. I love you both too - be safe."
I finished before hanging up. "We will - you too."
Why didn't I expect this from her. She takes after her mother - in more ways than one. Just like how she does with me.

heartbeat (1/1)
First off, apologies to @bellarkejanuaryjoy for the lateness. The past few days have been a little insane.
Season 7 AU-ish hurt/comfort, because you can’t tell me it didn’t traumatize Bellamy to watch Clarke die in front of him (again).
Weeks of Anomaly-jumping and struggling to outmaneuver the Disciples had taken its toll, leaving the survivors haggard, drained, and doubly paranoid as if Earth’s ghosts weren’t haunting enough. The day they all finally managed to reunite and touch down on an isolated planet a step ahead of Cadogan and his minions, it was decided to stop moving long enough to take a full night’s rest. Echo and Bellamy had been the only dissenting votes, but Echo’s relentless warrior drive aside, the most Bellamy needed was a proper look at the soul-deep exhaustion in Clarke’s eyes before hastily agreeing.
Weeks of ever-changing groupings (the Anomaly giveth, the Anomaly taketh away, spitting them out in a random pairings or groups for days at a time every time they were forced to jump) had managed to shift group dynamics enough that Clarke wasn’t treated like her very presence was venomous every second of every day, but she still erred on the side of caution when it came to the vulnerability of sleep.
Tonight, with Madi left on Sanctum in Gaia and Indra’s care, Clarke lay her aching, weary body down with Miller’s stalwart protection at her back and the strange trio of Diyoza, Octavia and a fully-grown Hope before her. Gabriel bedded down nearby and beyond him lay Bellamy, her last clinging piece to the family they once shared, whose remaining pieces rested in a loose circle on his other side.
Far too tired to risk catching Raven or Murphy’s gaze and finding no warmth, she let her eyes linger on Bellamy. It was a relief to finally see him resting, peaceful and still compared to the restless vigilance he’d been displaying for days. With his protective instincts kicked into high gear, Bellamy had taken to hovering, anxious and alert at her side, at Octavia’s, circling around Miller and Raven and Murphy with an ever-watchful eye. She found herself reminded of a predator on the prowl, his tension never dispersing even as days passed and he grew more exhausted by his constant hypervigilance.
Clarke had spent just as many days in worry, noting every tense and taut pull of his body, every clench of his jaw, every tightening of his fists. Following the frantic dance of dark, fervent eyes, restless and possessive as they dared any and all to encroach and threaten those he was looking after. So she let herself take him in, studying his face slack and relaxed in sleep, watching the flames from their campfire cast shadows over his handsome features and feeling the itch in her fingers for charcoal and paper.
Lulled into the teetering place between sleep and consciousness, she was jolted abruptly back to awareness by the second-most heart-wrenching sound she’d heard in her life (only exceeded by Madi’s terrified cry): Bellamy’s hoarse, guttural scream of her name.
Adrenaline pounding through her veins, Clarke rushed to her feet and Bellamy’s side. His wild, bloodshot eyes flew open and searched around frantically, widening and gaining some semblance of focus as they landed on her. When he reached out, there was no power in the universe that would have made her deny him.
He clutched at her with an almost bruising hold, her name a mantra he muttered again and again. His head cradled against her shoulder, Clarke stroked his curls, forcing herself not to react at the unconscious brush of his lips against her skin, shifting closer until he nuzzled against the side of her throat, seeking what Clarke knew from experience was the feel of her pulse.
When he first trembled, she thought him cold, but another shudder followed, one after another until he was silently sobbing. Forgetting everything and everyone that wasn’t the man in her arms, she pulled from every experience soothing Madi’s childhood nightmares, rocking them gently back and forth, stroking his back and whispering reassurances in his ear.
“I’m here, Bell. You saved me, remember? I’m right here with you.”
But even with her comfort, his exhausted, sleep-deprived body had little defense against his distress, and his sobs grew heavier. His body shook from the force of his sobs, violent shudders coursing through him as his breath came out in short, pained gasps. Clumsy hands patted blindly at her torso, first at her waist, then her side, and finally the buttons to her coat. Without hesitation, Clarke caught on quickly and aided in the task his trembling fingers couldn’t accomplish, pulling her coat open and off without preamble, going to work next on her top.
Despite the pair’s forgetting of their audience, they remained surrounded by their companions, incredulously captivated by what they were witnessing. Helpless to Bellamy’s breakdown and uncertain how to help, it didn’t take more than a second of Bellamy appearing to be undressing Clarke in front of them to elicit a reaction. Raven shifted uncomfortably, Murphy grumbling and only holding back sharp snark by Emori’s intervention, and Echo starting toward her ex and his partner with a mulish, outraged expression.
Octavia was only a step behind, hands clamping down like irons on Echo’s arms, stopping her in her tracks. “Stop,” she demanded in a low hiss.
“Octavia-” Echo bristled, only to be cut off by Octavia’s vehement insistence.
“No. It’s not like they’re about to get down in front of us. He needs this right now. Let them be!”
Meanwhile, Clarke had shrugged out of her jacket and pulled her henley over her head, leaving her exposed to the cool night air in a sleeveless undershirt. Bellamy gently tucked his blanket around her shoulders, tucking himself deeper into her embrace as they lay back together against his makeshift bed. Accommodating for his height, he curled himself around her, head resting between her breasts, ear pressed to her chest. He took in a shaky, shuddering breath, tension releasing out in a rush as his body relaxed against her, soft and pliable as he finally found his peace.
A soft gasp broke through the air, Raven’s hand clamping down on her mouth as her eyes widened with realization. Emori looked at her in concern, resting a hand against her shoulder as Murphy cocked an eyebrow. “What is it, Reyes? What about this could get any weirder?”
“It’s her heartbeat,” Raven concluded in a hesitant, pained whisper. “He was looking for her heartbeat.”
Her words caused Echo to freeze in trying to fight Octavia off without violence (ex or not, hitting his sister wouldn’t look very good to Bellamy), and Octavia shot Raven a baleful glare. “Well, yeah. Bell literally watched her flatline less than a month ago. Has no one noticed he’s barely been able to let her go to the bathroom by herself for weeks now?!”
An uncomfortable silence followed, heavy with realization and unspoken things. All things that could wait just one more night, as Clarke’s fingers tangled through disheveled curls and pressed a kiss to her partner’s brow, closing her eyes as her heart beat slow, strong, and steady, soothing both her and the man she trusted above all into a deep, dreamless sleep.

word count: 744 words
warnings: mentions of praimfaya, uhhhh canon divergence.  not much, but i don’t remember exactly what happens in the episode “pandora’s box” and the fact that we gonna say bell and echo aren’t together in this one-shot for the sake of everything.
author’s notes: i love bellamy i love bellamy i love bel—
Six years.
It had been six years since you last saw Bellamy.  Since you last heard from him.  You wanted to assume he was dead—that would have been the simplest thing to do.  But apart from your heart begging you to do so, you continued on believing that he was alive.
You had never been together, but you loved him.  You knew you loved him.  When Praimfaya hit, you knew that you loved him more than anything.  Being in the bunker for so long proved your love for him, as you had so much time to think about it.
The bunker was chaos.
You avoided everything at all costs, unless you were brought into something.  You stayed with your room buddies, and even then, you didn't talk to them much.  Bellamy was your life.  Earth was your life.  Not this bunker.  Not when you should have gotten out a year ago.
You had heard of Octavia sending Kane into the ring.  Out of everything she had done, this didn't surprise you.  And normally, you would avoid the ring.
"Come with me."
You peeled your eyes open to look at the ceiling, on top of your bunk.  A hand grabbed onto yours and you turned your head to see one of your only friends in the bunker.
"Come on.  It's Kane... and it's his second day.  If he dies..."
You sighed softly and gave a small nod.  You pulled yourself off from your bunk and grabbed your jacket, quickly pulling it on before you took their hand again.  They led you out to the ring, where you watched Marcus defying his orders to fight.  Octavia was clearly mad, but wasn't able to say much as the room around everyone began to shake violently.  You grabbed onto your friend, looking up towards the opening of the bunker.
Octavia slowly stood up, not really paying attention to some of the people who quickly left.
In only a matter of seconds, the door to the bunker was opened.
Octavia grabbed onto her weapon and moved towards the bottom of the ring, looking up.  She watched as a person began to come down.  The sun was bright, blocking her vision until the person was completely on the ground.
It was Bellamy.  Octavia didn't hesitate to hug him.
Clarke was the second person to come down.  When Octavia saw her, she let Bellamy go and went over to take her arm.
However, as soon as you saw Bellamy, you felt like you couldn't move.  You couldn't breathe.
Your friend gently shook your arm.  "Go to him..."
You looked at your friend and gave a small nod, hesitantly walking towards the bottom of the ring.  You came to the entrance and looked out at Bellamy, who was focused on Octavia.
"Bell?"
The tall, bearded man froze up.  He hesitantly looked over his shoulder, seeing you standing there.
"[Your name]?"
You couldn't help the tears that sprung to your eyes.  You took a small step towards him, but you were hardly able to do anything before he had walked over to you and enveloped you into a tight hug.  You hugged him back, burying your face in the crook of his neck.  Your hands gripped at the back of his jacket.  Many times, you had imagined this moment when you would see him again.  This was far better than your imagination.
Bellamy nearly lifted you off the ground as he hugged you.  He slightly pulled back to look down at you.  He began to smile.  "You look..."
"Sick?"
He let out a soft laugh.  "I was going to say beautiful."
You began to blush.  Thoughts rushed through your mind.  Should you kiss him?  Was he with someone?  How did he survive outside?  What did he do to survive?  With all of your questions, you hardly noticed Bellamy cup your cheeks.  His lips were soon against yours, to calm your racing thoughts.  You placed your hands over the top of his, your cheeks a soft pink.  Both of your eyes fluttered shut as the two of you kissed—something you both knew should have taken place far before now.  You wrapped your arms slowly around Bellamy's neck and his arms went around your waist.  Bellamy smiled against your lips and he somewhat pulled back, resting his forehead on yours.
"It's so good to see you, [Your name]."
"You have no idea, Bell," you said, looking towards Octavia as you spoke.  "You have no idea."

Series Masterlist.
You woke up to the sound of footsteps echoing through the hallway. You sat up, seeing a few guards leading Sinclair into the cage, you frowned. You got up and stood beside Lincoln, watching as they pushed him forcefully into the cage, making him groan.
Lincoln walked over to him. “Locking their own up now.” He said quietly. “What’d you do to get in here?”
Sinclair’s eyes moved to yours before looking back at Lincoln. “Whatever it took.” He replied. You walked closer, a confused look on your face. “I have a massage for you form Kane. Get ready.” He paused, looking at you. “Tonight’s a go.”
You looked at Lincoln, a suspicious look on your face, but it was gone as soon as he nodded. “Guess you won’t have to keep your anger for too long.” He said before walking back to the bench, sitting down. You sat beside him. “Ai yu don a swis raun ai jacket. Taim anything dei de puts ai life o anyone bilaik sitting raun hir raun danger, ai na lan op em.” I have a knife in my jacket. If anything that puts my life or anyone that is sitting I heard in danger, I will use it.
“Good, ai laik counting ona dei de.” Good, I’m counting on that. He said, making you look at him with surprise. “Linkon allowing ai gon lan op ai swis? Nau, bilaik brana.” Lincoln allowing me to use my knife? Now, that’s a first. You joked, making him chuckle. “Shop of.” Shut up. He said and pushed your forehead back, making you laugh.
“Nat oso fali get au kom hir. Ai na nou hod op.” Tonight we’re finally getting out of here. I can’t wait. You sighed, pulling your knees to our chest.
“Jok sha.” Fuck, yeah. Lincoln said and leaned back against the wall.
When the time came, Sinclair approached one of the guards, telling him that he was ready to talk. You waited for a few minutes before you saw Bellamy walking up to the guard. “He says he’s ready to talk.” The guard informed him, making Bellamy look over at Sinclair, who was pacing around the room. You were sitting beside Denea, letting her lean on you for support. You told them about the plan, agreeing that Lincoln will help get them out while you fight your way with the guards, being the one with a knife.
“You have something to say?” Bellamy asked Sinclair from the other side of the bars. “What do you wanna know?”
“Everything.”
Lincoln stood up, stepping closer to them.
“I want immunity. I’m the Chief Engineer and this camp needs me.” Sinclair said.
“That’s up to Pike but it shouldn’t be a problem.” Bellamy replied. “What have you got?”
Lincoln turned to you and you nodded, knowing the next part of the plan. “So,” he started, walking closer to Sinclair, “the cowered make their deals to save their own skin.”
“Quiet.” Bellamy said, but he ignored him.
“Can’t defeat the army at the gate? So you turned on your own?” He asked, cocking his head to the side. “Makes you feel strong?”
“I said, be quiet.” Bellamy raised his voice.
“I’m not the one who needs to be silenced.” He said and came to stand beside Sinclair. “He’ll tell them nothing.” He said and with a swift moment, he pushed Sinclair to the ground and started punching him, looking up to you and you nodded, getting up.
“Lincoln! Cover me.” Bellamy yelled and entered the cage along with a few guards. You nodded at the rest of the people who were inside, signaling them to run. “Gyon au nau!” Go, now! You yelled before running forward, punching a guard up ahead of you. He went to throw his own punch but you quickly caught his fist, punching his in the side and shoving him down. You saw Lincoln push Bellamy to the ground and you resisted the edge to run to him and make sure he was okay. Instead, you ran forward and helped push the door forward. You were thrown forward as you succeeded, quickly regaining your footing and focusing on the guards in front of you. You pulled a guard away from the guy he was beating up, punching him and sending him to the ground. Another one ran to you but you used his momentum and crouched down, throwing him off your shoulder. In the corner of your eye, you saw a guard push a button on the wall, making the alarm go off. You groaned in anger before you grabbed him by his collar, slamming his face against the wall and knock him out. You saw five more guards running up to you. You ran forward, sending both you and the guard down to the floor. You punched him until he was unconscious, then getting up and turning to the others. You saw him pull out his baton, shaking your head, you kicked him in his chest, sending him down to the floor. You leaned over, taking the baton from his grasp. “I’ll take that.” After you figured how to use the thing you stepped forward and hit a guard with it, sending him to the floor. You dropped the baton when a guard pushed you to the wall, wrapping his hands around your throat. You didn’t waste time in pulling out your knife, not hesitating when you stabbed the man in the stomach, making him drop to his knees. You twisted your knife in you hand before moving on to the next one. He went to punch you but you dodged, cutting his thigh and shoving him down. You turned to see Lincoln, his arms held down as they hit him with the shock baton.
“No.” You said and hurried to him, shoving one guard to the ground before turning to the other one, but before you could do anything you were shoved down to the floor. You turned over in time to block his throw, using both of your hands. With his other hand he pulled out his baton. Your eyes widened before you lifted your knee and kicked him in the balls, shoving him off of you. You got up and turned to Lincoln, he was still on his knees, still being held by two guards as they hit him. You took your knife in your hand before running to them, stabbing one of them and knocking out the other.
“Lincoln.” You said and crouched down next to him. “Are you okay?”
“Watch out.” He said in a weak voice but it was too late, you were hit in the head with something hard, falling to the ground. You were turned over, receiving punches and kicks. The guard punched you in your stomach, making you cry out in pain. You reached for your knife but before you could grab it, the guard was pulled off of you. To your complete surprise, Bellamy was standing in front of you, his hand offered to you. You sat up, groaning in pain, and took his hand, allowing him to pull you up. “Are you okay?” He asked you as he looked over you, worry written on his face. How you missed that look. This time, instead of pushing him off of you and telling him to fuck off, you nodded. “I’m fine, thank you. You good?” You asked him and he nodded. You kept your eyes connected before his radio came to life.
“Bellamy! The riot’s a distraction.” You heard Monty’s voice. Bellamy looked up at you. “Kane’s going after Pike.”
Bellamy looked at you, a look you couldn’t quite read on his face, as if he was asking you if it was true or asking you why, but you didn’t know. You weren’t aware of your actions when he took off running, you didn’t stop him. You were angry at yourself, for letting your emotions getting in your way.
You were returned back to your cage, you sat down on the floor, knees to your chest as you ran your finger down your cheek, wincing. “We failed.” Sinclair said, leaning his allows on his knees, head down.
“We did, because of me.” You mumbled, only Lincoln that was sitting beside you heard. “It’s not your fault.” He said, but you shook your head.
“He was standing raun front kom ai, en ai let em gyon au.” He was standing in front of me, and I let him go. You said, jaw clenching with anger.
“Yu nou na moba gon bilaik feelings. Ai ge em, yu could nou bash op em .” You should never apologize for your feelings. I get it, you couldn’t hurt him. Lincoln said, bringing you a tiny bit of comfort. You put your hand on his thigh. “Ba ai laik fiya, fiya dei de oso could nou let these kru gyon au.” But I am sorry, sorry we couldn’t let these people go.
Lincoln opened his mouth to answer but was cut off by the door opening. You all watched as Kane was shoved into the cell, a look of defeat on his face. You leaned your head against the wall, knowing that death was now coming, and you didn’t have a way of stopping it.
________
Lincoln crouched down next to the two girls. “Stay yuj.” Stay strong. He said and they nodded. He stood back up and walked over to where you and Kane were sitting.
“You inspire them.” Kane said to him. He just chuckled softly before sitting down next to him. “I’m not gonna let you give up either.” They both smiled, but that smile was soon gone from their faces when a voice yelled out. “Chancellor on deck!” You turned to see Pike walking over to you, guards at his side, Bellamy among them. You locked eyes, and judging by his face, you knew bad news were coming. You swallowed thickly before getting up, standing beside Sinclair and Lincoln.
“Each of you is guilty of the same crimes as Kane, and as such, you will suffer the same fate.” He said, looking between all of you. “Death.”
Your eyes moved to Bellamy, finding his own already on you.
“Chit ste he biyo?” What is he saying? A woman asked, getting up from her spot on the floor.
“Dula op nou get daun.” Don’t worry. Lincoln reassured her before walking closer to Pike. “My people are innocent. They know nothing. Don’t let them suffer for my crimes.”
“They aren’t your crimes only.” Pike said, his gaze falling on you. “Your friend here helped you.”
“I did.” You said, stepping forward. “But they didn’t. We gave them the opportunity, they just took it, like any person would.”
“Sir, they’re right.” Bellamy said, drawing your attention to him. “As she said, all they did was run through on opens door, as any person in that situation would.” He said then turned to you. You ignored the sadness that you knew only you could see and nodded, silently thanking him.
Pike looked around the room, eyes stopping on the Grounders, he looked at them for a second before nodding his head. “I believe that’s true.” He said and you felt relief wash over you, knowing that these people wouldn’t be killed over something they didn’t do. “Kane, Lincoln, Nokeryon,” he said your name with a hint of respect, making you frown your eyebrows,” Sinclair, as the leaders of this coup, you will pay for your crimes with your lives. Execution is set for dawn.”
You looked at Bellamy, allowing your fear to show, seeing the same fear in his eyes. You nodded, a small smile on your lips even though your time was counted. His face turned of refusal, shaking his head. You shrugged, trying to keep the tears inside. Pike turned to leave, breaking your moment, Bellamy following him, his eyes not leaving yours until he was out of sight. A hand was placed on your shoulder and you turned to look at Kane. His face was sad, same as yours.
After a few hours, guards came to take Kane, taking him to go see Abby. He came back with his head down, sitting down on one of the benches. You sighed heavily, leaning back against the wall. Lincoln reached out and took your hand in his. “Yu don kik raun hard en yuj, strik gona.” You lived hard and strong, little warrior. He said, the name bringing tears to your eyes. “Dula op nou fir in death, gon em ste jos a gouthru gon chilnes.” Do not fear death, for it is only a passage to peace. His words only brought more tears, you held in the sob that was threatening to break out. He pulled you to him, allowing you to cry on his shoulder. You heard him sniff as well, making you pull away. You looked at each other, knowing that in two hours you will no longer see each other.
Without noticing, you fell asleep, your head on Lincoln’s shoulder. You were exhausted from the last twenty fort eight hours and maybe even more, you lost count. You were awoken by Lincoln’s soft voice. “It could’ve worked.” You kept your eyes closed, not ready to fully go back to reality yet.
“Death could be an act of unity, too.” You heard Kane whisper. “You don’t break.” You opened your eyes, locking them with Kane’s. “We don’t show fear.” He looked back at the scar on his forearm. “The people will remember.”
You really hoped so, you hope you would be remembered. You grew up as no one, not belonging anywhere, knowing that if you would die someday, no one would remember you. But then Nyko came to your life, showing you what it was like to be loved. Then it was Lincoln, who stayed by your side, no matter what. And then there was Bellamy, who made you feel important, like you mattered. He made you want to fight for your life, to care about your life, only because he cared about it. You hoped he would remember you, and you hoped that he will find his way to peace, because he deserved it.
“Chancellor on deck.” Was heard from the hallway before you saw Pike walking towards you. “It’s time.”
You got up, eyes subconsciously looking for Bellamy, hoping to see his face one last time, but he wasn’t there. You figured he didn’t want to be there, and you didn’t blame him.
“Emo ste hir gon hon daun yumi away.” They are here to take us away. Lincoln said as they started to get up. “Yu souda nou kok au.” You must not resist.
“Ai na nou protect emo without yu.” I can’t protect them without you. The woman said, looking between you and Lincoln.
“Listen gon ai.” Listen to me. You said, stepping forward. “Yu laik gona. Stay yuj.” You are a warrior. Stay strong.
The door opened, Pike and his guards walking in. “Back up. Back up.” He said and walked to you. “Against the wall. Now. Come on, let’s go.” He said. The guards walked to each of you, handcuffing your hands. You were led outside of the cell and down the hallway. You saw a girl up ahead of you, the one you recognized as Harper.
“Make way.” Pikes called. She moved away. “Yes, sir, Mr. Chancellor.” She said.
You turned around the corner, Pike stopping when the voice of a woman came from his radio. “Sir, you were right. Octavia Blake is here and she’s not alone.”
Your heart raced, maybe Bellamy was with her. But you knew it was impossible. Pike turned around to face you. “On their knees.” He commanded and you were pushed down to your knees. He pulled out his radio and turned away from you. “Can you confirm a location?” He asked. You looked over to Kane, a questioning look on your face. He just nodded, letting you know that it was going to be okay.
“Negative, sir.” Came her response.
“Sir, we can assume her friends told her where we’re taking them.” One of the guards said, making Pike turn to him. “We shouldn’t go further till the route’s secure.”
Pike seemed to think about it for a second before his eyes fell on a door on his right. “Put them in there. Let’s go, move!” He ordered. You were pulled up to your feet before the guard dragged you inside the. “I want two men on the door.”
“Got it.”
“Good. Anyone comes out of there, shoot to kill. Anyone enters this corridor, one warning, then shoot to kill.” Was the last you heard from Pike as the door closed.
After a few second one brick in the floor moved, revealing Octavia. She climbed up from under the floor, immediately running to Lincoln, kissing him.
“No fucking way.” You said, a smile on your face. “Well done, Little Blake.”
She smiled at you before stepping back. “Come on, get in there, we don’t have a lot of time.”
You jumped in after Sinclair, crouching down in the small space. You heard footsteps form above you, then something being strongly kicked. “Fuck!” You heard Pike yell out. You smirked a little. “Drama queen.” You whispered, making Kane and Sinclair chuckle, them being the only ones who heard you.
“The guys are alive, sir.” A new voice came in. “They must have drugged them.”
“We did what they wanted us to do.” Pike said before they walked out. You waited a few second before Octavia pushed open the brick. “All clear.” She whispered before taking the gun out, climbing out. You followed her, struggling a little with your hands will handcuffed.
“It’s a little tight in there.” Kane said as she unhandcuffed him. “Try doing it for 16 years.” She said bitterly before moving to you and Lincoln, releasing you as well. “Here,” she said bad handed you a bag, “found them laying around near the supply room.” She explained. You looked in the bag and smiled as you saw all of your knives in it. You took each one of them out, placing them in their right holsters. “Thank you.” You said and she nodded. “We’ll come back for Denea and the others. I promise.” She said before taking care of Sinclair.
Abby walked into the room, walking straight to Kane. “I told you not to do this.” He said to her as she crouched down next to him. “Why would I start listening to you now?” She said, making him smile.
You turned to see Miller walking into the room. “Thank god, couldn’t take these two falling in love for one more second.” You said and threw him a gun, making him chuckle. “You’ll get used to this.” He said and caught the next gun you threw at him.
“S, come in.” A voice came from Octavia’s radio, making her freeze.
“What is it?” Kane asked. She shook her head and pulled out the radio. “This wasn’t the plan. We used their frequency so they could hear us.” She explained and pressed the button. “Go ahead.”
“Stay where you are. Repeat, stay where you are. The exit is not clear.” She said, making you all look at each other on confusion. “How many guards?” Octavia asked, fully aware to the fact that she had Lincoln, who was a trained warrior, you, who was an assassin and her, also a trained warrior.
“Too many. I said, stay put.” She responded, shutting down her idea.
“Calling all guards. The prisoners are headed for the main gate. The prisoners are headed to the man gate. Over.” You heard Monty’s panicked voice over the radio, making your eyebrows shoot up.
“That was Monty.” Octavia said.
“Guess he’s with us after all.” Miller said
“I will find out.” Kane suggested, but Abby shook her head. “We don’t know that. What we do know is that we have to move.”
You all walked out of the room, the exit now safe. You followed after them as you reached a small space behind a plastic curtain. You watch as Kane pulled a part of the wall to the side. “Now, that’s useful.” You said.
“Attention all citizens. Emergency lockdown is in effect.” Came from the speakers. “Return to your quarters immediately.”
“Come on, Abby, you’re next.” Kane said, turning to her, but she shook her head. “I’m not going. They need someone to show them the way out of the dark.” She explained to him. “Besides, I-“ he didn’t let her finish and leaned forward, kissing her.
“About fucking time.” You muttered, making Lincoln beside you nod and chuckle.
“May we meet again.” He said as they parted. “We will.” She said and walked away, Kane staring after her.
“Who knew you were a hopeless romantic?” You asked as soon as she was out of sight.
He turned to you, rolling his eyes. “Let’s go, we don’t have time.”
You moved to go in the small tunnel when Octavia walked over to you, her radio in her hands. “I have a massage for the traitors in this camp.” Came Pike’s voice, you rolled your eyes. “There will be an execution today. Either turn yourselves in, or the other Grounder prisoners will die in your place.”
You froze, knowing the choice before you. Octavia ignored the massage and pulled Lincoln forward. “Let’s go.”
He turned away to leave but she grabbed his arm. “No way.” She shook her head. “I can’t let them die because of me.” He said. “Lincoln, please, we’re almost out.” She begged him.
Your eyes were still on the radio that lay on the table, debate going like a storm in your head.
“I know how you feel, but they’re searching the station.” Kane said. “We need to go now.”
“You should.” Lincoln said, nodding.
“Fine.” Octavia said. “Then I’m going with you. Oso gon daun teina.” We fight together.
Lincoln put his hand on her cheek. “I love you.” He said before kissing her, but as they broke away, he sticked a needle in her neck, making her collapse in his arms.
“What are you doing?” Kane asked.
“Same thing you’d do for your people.” He answered him and turned to look at Octavia who was passed out in his arms. “Just get her out of here.”
He handed her to Kane, holding on to her hand before letting it drop. “Stay yuj.” Stay safe. He told him.
“You, too.”
As the scene occurred on front of you, your decision was clear to you. You never had a purpose, not until now. You lived for gold and money, not for anything else. There was a time when you lived for Bellamy, but now you knew that he would be fine without you, you were never a part of his life. You wanted to be like Lincoln, like Nyko, to live with a purpose that was worth dying for. And that was it.
“Let’s go, then.” You said, turning to look a Lincoln.
“No-“
“Oh, shut up. You’re allowed to sacrifice your life when the love of it is right in front of you and I’m not?” You cut him off.
“You’re not coming. I don’t allow you to throw your life away like that.” He said, stepping closer to you, but your mind was made up. “And I won’t allow you, but here we are. That’s why we’re gonna do this together.”
“Only one of us needs to die, and it has to be me.” He argued. You hesitated before saying, “they are my people too, and I won’t let them die just you won’t. It’s my choice and you need to understand that.”
He looked at you, torn. But he knew you were right. He nodded slightly. You turned to Kane. “Take care of Bellamy, show him the right way and tell him I’m sorry I couldn’t say goodbye.” You hesitated before adding, “tell him I care for him, so much.” You wanted to say you loved him, but something held you back. He nodded. “My name is Y/N. It was nice to meet you.”
“It was nice to meet you, too.” He replied with a small smile.
You turned to Lincoln. “Let’s go grab death in the balls, shall we?”
You walked out, your hands raised to the air as guards came from both directions. You saw Pike walking towards you, signaling the guards to stand down. “I’m sorry it had to some to this.” He said.
“Are you?” You scoffed.
“As much as it may surprise you, Nokeryon, I am. I don’t want to kill you, but you’ve left me no choice.”
You didn’t have the energy to fight him, so you just shut up. A guard came in front of you and cuffed you. They led you and Lincoln outside. You looked up and saw the sun just above the horizon, reminding you of so many memories, the latest being after Mount Weather, you and Bellamy walking out after a victory. You smiled at the thought of him, not letting it drop as you thought about all the things you didn’t get to do. You wanted to kiss him, to tell him you loved him, to hold him. But you couldn’t, and you never will.
You saw Pike nod before the guards behind Lincoln stepped aside, allowing him to step forward. You didn’t want to watch him die but you didn’t want him to bear same pain.
“I can’t free your people.” He said, turning to look at you. “But I can promise they will be care for.”
Lincoln nodded slightly, but you were frozen in your spot, eyes trained on him. Pike stepped back, Lincoln fell to his knees. He turned to look at you and nodded, you nodded back before feeling the first tears fall. “Lincoln of Trikru, you have been sentenced to death, in accordance with the Exodus Charter. Any last words?”
“Not for you.” He said and turned to look at the sky. Pike circled him and pulled his gun out of his holster, aiming it at him. “Mebi oso na hit choda op nodotaim.” May we meet again. He said before he pulled the trigger, Lincoln falling to the ground, dead. A sob broke through you but you caught yourself before you could break down, swallowing thickly before looking up at Pike. He nodded for the guards to pull you forward, you stood ahead of Lincoln, the shot still echoing through your head.
“Nokeryon-“
“No.” You cut him off. “Y/N. Y/N kom Trikru.”
You thought about Nyko, he was from Trikru and he was the one who you called father. Then Lincoln, who you called brother. You didn’t care if you didn’t bear the mark of the clan, you were going to die anyway so why did it matter?
“Y/N of Trikru, you are sentenced to death for treason. Any last words?” He repeated the same words he spoke to Lincoln. But you didn’t have your last words, you didn’t know what to you. You dropped to your knees, looking up and closing your eyes.
“Ai gonplei ste odon.” My fight is over. You whispered. You always loved the phrase, those four words representing what you believed in. Living was a fight, and you needed to fight in order to live, that’s what you’ve been doing our whole life; fighting. And once the time has come, every warrior knows when to stop fighting. It wasn’t giving up, it was excepting your fate and excepting your loss.
The shot was heard before you fell to the ground, just like Lincoln, but the pain in your shoulder was too strong for you to believe you were dead. An alarm was heard. You opened your eyes and saw guards running and ceased your opportunity and turned to get up, fighting against your restraints. Once you were up you took one look around then fled, thankful that they didn’t chain your legs as well. You didn’t have time to question what happened because your survival instinct was kicking in. You ran as fast as you could, ignoring your exhausted body. You ran past the trees, you ran free, chasing your life.
