Back To Basics Lesson 26: The Keys To Hades
“Do you want to know why I don’t believe in God, Phillip? If God is so loving, then why would He torture and burn sinners in hell for all of eternity? That just doesn’t sit right with me.”
What happens when you die? Do righteous people immediately go to heaven and sinners immediately go to hell? What does the Bible really teach about the state of the dead? Let’s find out in today’s lesson.
Let’s read together Genesis 2:7; Psalm 104:29; Ecclesiastes 12:7; and James 2:6.
In the beginning, God formed man from dust and the breath of life. When a person dies, the body goes back to dust and the “spirit” goes back to God. Note the “spirit” that returns to God is the breath of life (or God’s power, if you prefer). According to these verses, a soul is a living being. If we were to put this concept into a mathematical equation:
Dust + breath of life = soul
Contrary to popular belief, we do not have souls. We are souls!
Let’s read together Ezekiel 18:4; Ezekiel 18:20; 1 Timothy 1:17; and 1 Timothy 6:15-16.
The Bible uses the word “soul” over three hundred times, but never once uses “immortal soul.” There is no reference to humans ever having immortal souls. According to the Bible, only God has immortality.
Let’s read together Job 17:13; Ecclesiastes 9:10; Psalm 146:3-4; John 5:28-29; and Acts 2:29, 34.
People do not immediately go to heaven or hell when they die. If there is anyone in the Bible who would be in heaven right now, it would be King David. However, the Bible affirms David is not in heaven. Rather, he is dead and buried.
What about spiritual mediums who claim to speak to the dead or all those stories of people communicating with dead relatives?
Let’s read together Job 14:12, 21; Psalm 115:17; Psalm 146:4; Ecclesiastes 9:5-6; and John 11:11-14.
The Bible emphatically states the dead cannot communicate with the living, nor are they aware of what the living are doing. In fact, Jesus compares death to an unconscious sleep.
Then how do we explain all those experiences people have with spiritual mediums or dead relatives?
Let’s read together 1 Timothy 4:1 and Revelation 16:14.
The experiences of those people may have been real, but they were deceived by demons masquerading as their dead loved ones.
Let’s read together Job 15:25-27; Isaiah 25:8; Daniel 12:2; 1 Corinthians 15:50-58; John 3:16; and Revelation 1:17-18.
There are nonreligious people who have no hope beyond the grave. They believe death is the end for them. On the other hand, there are Christians who are fearful of eternal torment in hellfire. Both these groups are wrong.
The Bible teaches the wages of sin is death, not eternal torment. We do have hope beyond the grave. We have a Redeemer who has already conquered the grave - Jesus Christ!
When Jesus comes again, He will grant eternal life to those who believe in Him wholeheartedly as their Lord and Savior. Friend, will you believe what the Bible says about death and resurrection?

Resolutions For the OTHER Kind of New Year's Fitness
Let’s face it. The last three years have been hard on everyone. 2021 and 2022 were a pandemic blur, and 2023 has been no picnic, either. Because of all of the stress and strain from the economy, wars, AI, or current events, you (like me) may have done a little comfort eating. I know that a whole bunch of people out there are going to make 2024 New Year’s resolutions to lose weight, get in better…

Mini PAC - Their Feelings For You (Romance)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a mini-reading I did for you guys! If you want to know more and are willing to pay, hit me up!
You can always tip me! - paypal.me/sadwidow
If you want to support me, please reblog!
10% OFF FOR ALL READINGS THAT ARE ABOVE 15 CARDS (15$) - till the end of November
GROUPS 1 - 2 -3 4 - 5 - 6 7 - 8 - 9
Instruction: Think about your person while choosing a group. Do not use more than 2 groups for one person. Remember, this is only for entertainment purposes.
GROUP 1
Cards: Release Your Ex Reversed (the time has come to clear your energy), Express Your Love Reversed (go ahead and make the romantic gesture), Keep An Open Mind (your soul mate may differ from your usual type and expectations), Love Reversed, Blank Card, Sweetheart Reversed, Wedding Rings (Union, Wedding, Married, Soul Connection, Eternal Love, Everlasting Promise), Butterfly Reversed (Relationship Evolving to the Next Phase, Healing The Inner Child, Growth), Chaser Reversed (Chaser in Co-Dependent Relationship, Fear of Abandonment Issue).
Reading: I see that your person is currently either in a committed relationship or is about to get into a relationship with another person (or even a marriage situation) and is very unlikely to leave their current connection with their partner. I don't see them being interested in you in a romantic way (I'm not even sure if they had ever thought about you in a romantic way). They are currently in love with their partner and that is not going to change for a long time. However, with the Blank Card and Keep An Open Mind Card there is potential for the two of you to be together but not right now. It's better if you move on and don't expect much here.
GROUP 2
Cards: Wedding (this situation involves marriage), Retreat (it's time to disconnect from the world), Let Go Of Control Issues (allow this situation to unfold naturally), Sunglasses Reversed (Watching, Looking, Stalking, Gaslighting, Perception, Focusing Out), Heart With A Key Reversed (Welcoming Love, Meeting The One, Open Your Heart, Getting Together), Hand Of Cards in Horizontal Position (Take a Chance, Risk, Being Strategic, Options, Not Showing Hand), Ecclesiastic Reversed, Widower Reversed, Message.
Reading: This person is interested in you, that's for sure. They want to spend time with you and you only, no other people around. They're pretty stressed out about this situation, it's like their Heart and Throat Chakras are blocked. For now, they decided not to make any hasty actions toward you. They're waiting for the right time and also they want to see how your connection will unfold without romance involved. They do want to message you or contact you in any way they could but once again, they're restraining themselves. Maybe they're still healing a little from their previous relationship/situationship. They don't check out your social media and they avoid talking about you with others - they don't want to get too excited and take a risk. Their heart is still closed off and they're learning how to move on from past traumas.
GROUP 3
Cards: Religious Factors Reversed (your love life is influenced by your religious upbringing and spiritual path), Heart-To-Heart Conversations Reversed (honestly discuss your feelings with each other), Make The Effort Reversed (great love is worth taking the steps you're guided to take), Soulmates (Soul Connection, Partnership, Agreement, Soul Contract), Self-Indulgence (Focus on Self, Self-Worth, Time to Heal, Shadow Work), Sunglasses Reversed (Stalking, Watching, Looking), Lover, Fortune, Fidelity Reversed.
Reading: This person is interested in you sexually. They are not someone who likes committed relationships or being exclusive with people. They like to have their needs fulfilled but there's nothing beyond that. You guys could be great Friends With Benefits but other than that, I don't see them changing their mind any time soon (or even at all). You guys do have a connection (Soulmate Card) but not in a romantic sense. If you want to, you can tell this person that you want to be more than friends but be prepared for disappointment. It's not worth it to give your time to this person if you expect a relationship out of it.
GROUP 4
Cards: Stay Optimistic About Your Love Life Reversed (positive thinking and faith will bring you romance), Express Your Love Reversed (go ahead and make the romantic gesture), Reconciliation (someone from your past is returning to your life), Death, Marriage Reversed, Jealousy Reversed, Love (Affection, Attraction, Unconditional Love), Coffin Reversed (Endings, Growth, New Beginnings, Change, Liberation), Butterfly Reversed (Relationship Evolving to the Next Phase, Healing The Inner Child, Growth).
Reading: If you are asking about your former lover/your ex/your past situationship/past friendship then yes, they are coming back into your life. If not, then this reading is still for you. Not everything has ended between you guys but the reason for coming back to you is not a romantic offer, but a closure. You might be having some fun in the beginning, going on dates, having sex and spending time together but this connection will end. I'm not even seeing anything about staying friends or staying in touch - this is the last time you can say whatever you want to say.
GROUP 5
Cards: Enemy, Love, Loss, Snake (Competition, Enemy, Look Over Your Shoulder, The Other Woman, Malicious), Photograph (Missing You, Nostalgia, Make New Memories), Separation Reversed (Missing You, Sadness, Unsure of Future), Passion hidden under Separation Card (Insane Chemistry, Having Fun, Like Each Other Equally), Let Go Of Control Issues Reversed (allow this situation to unfold naturally), Forgiving And Learning Reversed (as you release and heal the past, you experience more love in your present moments), This Could Be The One Reversed (you've already met the romantic partner you seek).
Reading: Oh boy, this is a complicated one and I'd have to draw more cards to get a clearer picture but this is a mini-reading so I'll try to give you guys any information I could pick up from the cards I have currently. I feel like you've been friends with this person for a long time (or you just know each other for a long time) so it's fair to say you have some strong fundaments that you can build a relationship on. There is some strong chemistry there and they actually enjoy your company. Yes, they are interested in you but someone else appeared to be your competitor. I strongly sense feminine energy that is cunning, strong and manipulative. Your person can't decide which one of you will be a better option to date - they don't want to lose you so continuing your friendship is the safest bet. Your competitor also doesn't make things easier for you since they keep persuading and pressuring your person to choose them. This also could be their current lover/girlfriend in which your person isn't much interested.
GROUP 6
Cards: Ecclesiastic, Baby Reversed, Letter Reversed, The Swords And Rose (Clarity, Truth, Revelation, Solidarity, Honor, Protection), Healing Heart (Healing From Heartbreak, Freedom From Toxic Relationship/Addiction), Love Reversed (Unconditional Love, Self-Love, Attraction, Affection), Stay Optimistic About Your Love Life (positive thinking and faith will bring you romance), You Deserve Love (you are loveable), Religious Factors Reversed (your love life is influenced by your religious upbringing and spiritual path).
Reading: Very clear message: "You deserve love. It might not be me who will give you love but please don't think you are unloveable. Someone will love you but might not be me." They care about you deeply, just not in the way you want them to. They know you like (or love) them but they can't give you the same affection. You are dear to them and they care about your feelings, that's why they don't want to lead you on. They wish you found happiness and love you so clearly deserve; they will support you in any way they can. They will fight people who hurt you and they will always have your back. They want to stay in your life. You have to move on from them. Don't expect a sudden confession or a change in their feelings - it won't happen. You're not meant to be.
(Song for you: The Night We Met - Lord Huron and Last Chance (Alt Version) - CHPTRS)
GROUP 7
Cards: Journey, Money, Desire Reversed, The Swords And Rose (Clarity, Truth, Revelation, Solidarity, Honor, Protection), The Phoenix (New Phase, Rekindle, Growth, Changed Mind), Palm Tree (Stability, Security, Permanence, Endurance), Honeymoon (enjoy the bliss of holiday time together), Playfulness (to recapture romance, allow your inner youthful spirit of fun to shine), Reconciliation Reversed (someone from your past is returning to your life).
Reading: They feel safe with you, it's like you're home for them and their inner child can be at peace. Okay, I literally want to cry during this reading, my heart is so full of love and pain at the same time so I guess this is the same thing your person feels for you. I don't know what's going on but it's very loud so I'll say it: Enjoy the time with this person when you still can. Even if you're tired, go meet up. I feel like they will disappear from your life and they know it, that's why there's so much pain and I want to cry. I feel like they're going somewhere or maybe they're getting married? They are entering something or going somewhere that will make it impossible to be with you and they don't have any power over it. Maybe they have a kid on the way or there is an arranged marriage? I have no idea. Enjoy your time together while it lasts.
GROUP 8
Cards: Sweetheart, Hope Reversed, Malady Reversed, Paradise (Happiness, Expansion, Oneness, Enjoying Each Other), Date (Meeting Someone New, Set A Date, Dating), Photograph Reversed (Missing You, Nostalgia, Make New Memories), Romantic Feelings (your feelings are real and worth exploring), Give Your Relationship A Chance (work on your partnership), Religious Factors Reversed (your love life is influenced by your religious upbringing and spiritual path).
Reading: Are you already invested in each other? It seems like you either have a thing or are about to go on a date. Either way, they're quite happy with how things are turning out with you. They do have a romantic interest in you and they're willing to work on themselves if it means getting together with you. There's slight negativity here - as if they're expecting you to just dump them all of sudden or realize you don't like them anymore. Maybe they've been hurt before and they're ready for the worst possible scenario - please affirm that you like them because sometimes they doubt that you do.
(Song: Heather by Conan Gray)
GROUP 9
Cards: Money, Loss Reversed, Desire Reversed, Passion (allow your heart and soul to sing with joy), Past-Life Relationship Reversed (you have known each other before), True Love Reversed (this is the romance of a lifetime), Boat (Progressions, Receiving What You Need, Closure Issues), Cassette (Outdated Thinking, Over In Your Head, Replaying Events), Seduction Reversed (Attraction, Flirting, Temptation, Third-Party).
Reading: You are a temptation to them - something that is forbidden, yet they crave it. It's an animalistic urge to have you all to themselves - they don't like the person they are around you. They're either in a relationship or after a breakup. You might have had sexual intercourse but unfortunately, sex is all that exists between you. I see the want to possess you (in every meaning of the word) and the feeling is ugly. They are aware of how selfish they are with you. You also might be seducing them on purpose and trying to show them you want to have a relationship with them but, again, they become toxic around you.

Embracing the Fruit of the Spirit:
Cultivating Christlike Character
Introduction: Embark on a transformative journey through the fruit of the Spirit as we explore the qualities that reflect the character of Christ. Join us on this enriching exploration of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, and discover how they can shape our lives and relationships.
Scripture Passage: Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV) Cross References: John 15:1-17, Colossians 3:12-17, 2 Peter 1:5-8
Commentary: In Galatians 5, Paul lists the fruit of the Spirit as evidence of a life surrendered to Christ. These qualities—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—flow from a heart transformed by the Holy Spirit and reflect the character of Christ Himself.
In John 15, Jesus uses the analogy of the vine and branches to illustrate the importance of abiding in Him to bear fruit. He emphasizes the intimate connection between abiding in His love and producing fruit that glorifies the Father.
Colossians 3 calls believers to clothe themselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving as the Lord has forgiven us. These virtues are essential for maintaining unity in the body of Christ.
In 2 Peter 1, believers are encouraged to make every effort to add to their faith goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, mutual affection, and love. These qualities ensure that we will be effective and productive in our knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Broader Context:
Love:
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 - The characteristics of love as described by Paul.
John 13:34-35 - Jesus commands his disciples to love one another as He has loved them.
1 John 4:7-12 - Believers are called to love one another because love comes from God.
Joy:
Psalm 16:11 - In God's presence is fullness of joy.
Nehemiah 8:10 - The joy of the Lord is our strength.
John 15:11 - Jesus desires His joy to be in us, and for our joy to be complete.
Peace:
Isaiah 26:3 - God promises perfect peace to those whose minds are steadfast.
Romans 5:1 - Through faith in Jesus, we have peace with God.
Philippians 4:6-7 - God's peace guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Patience:
Ecclesiastes 7:8 - Patience is better than pride.
Romans 12:12 - Believers are called to be patient in affliction.
James 5:7-8 - Be patient and stand firm, for the Lord's coming is near.
Kindness:
Ephesians 4:32 - Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other.
Proverbs 19:22 - What is desired in a man is kindness.
Colossians 3:12 - As God's chosen people, clothe yourselves with kindness.
Goodness:
Psalm 23:6 - Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.
Romans 12:21 - Overcome evil with good.
Titus 2:14 - Christ gave himself for us to redeem us and purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
Faithfulness:
1 Corinthians 4:2 - Faithfulness is required of stewards.
2 Timothy 2:13 - God remains faithful even when we are faithless.
Revelation 2:10 - Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor's crown.
Gentleness:
Proverbs 15:1 - A gentle answer turns away wrath.
Galatians 6:1 - Restore others gently when they are caught in sin.
1 Peter 3:15 - In your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.
Self-Control:
Proverbs 25:28 - A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.
1 Corinthians 9:25 - Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
Titus 2:11-12 - For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.
Questions:
Which fruit of the Spirit do you find most challenging to cultivate in your life, and why?
In what ways can you abide more deeply in Christ to bear fruit that reflects His character?
How do the fruit of the Spirit impact your relationships with God and others?
What practical steps can you take to nurture the fruit of the Spirit in your daily life?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit who produces fruit in our lives that reflects the character of Christ. Help us to cultivate these virtues daily, empowering us to love as you love, to bring joy wherever we go, and to walk in peace amidst life's storms. May our lives bear witness to your transformative power and bring glory to your name. Amen.

In 1963, Richard Beeching published a report called The Reshaping of British Railways. This has made many people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
10. everlasting ink - delphini riddle & ginny weasley
When she was sixteen, she nearly died.
well. it's clear we can learn that i'm not particularly fond of a long opening sentence - which is at odds with the fact that i use a lot of compound sentences elsewhere in all of these stories.
although sentence structure isn't - as i doubt it is for most people - the thing that readers particularly comment on... what gets brought up to me most frequently when people are kind enough to leave responses to my writing is the idea that each of my characters has a distinctive narrative voice, whether they're part of an ensemble piece [readers of one year in every ten have told me a lot that they particularly look forward to sections from ron's perspective as a emotionally mature respite from harry being reckless and tom being a dick] or the sole focus of the piece, and i think you can see that in these lines.
and - y'know - hopefully they're a good hook...
[i'll tag @ashesandhackles, @cealesti, @midnightstargazer, @celestemagnoliathewriter @incalculablepower and anyone else interested in playing.]

The Wise Woman
1 The wise woman builds her house, But the woman of folly tears it down with her own hands. 2 He who walks in his uprightness fears Yahweh, But he who is devious in his ways despises Him. 3 In the mouth of the ignorant fool is a rod of lofty pride, But the lips of the wise will keep them. 4 Where no oxen are, the manger is clean, But much revenue comes by the strength of the ox. 5 A faithful witness will not lie, But a false witness breathes out lies. 6 A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none, But knowledge is easy to one who has understanding. 7 Leave the presence of a fool, As you have not known lips of knowledge there. 8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, But the folly of fools is deceit. 9 Ignorant fools scoff at guilt, But among the upright there is favor. 10 The heart knows its own bitterness, And a stranger does not share its gladness.
11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed, But the tent of the upright will flourish. 12 There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. 13 Even in laughter the heart may be in pain, And the end of joy may be grief. 14 The one who turns back in his heart will be satisfied with his ways, But a good man will be satisfied with his. 15 The simple believes everything, But the prudent one discerns his steps.
16 A wise man fears and turns away from evil, But a fool gets angry and feels secure. 17 A quick-tempered man acts in folly, And a man of evil schemes is hated. 18 The simple inherit folly, But the prudent are crowned with knowledge. 19 The evil will bow down before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous. 20 The poor is hated even by his neighbor, But those who love the rich are many. 21 He who despises his neighbor sins, But how blessed is he who is gracious to the poor. 22 Will they not wander in error who devise evil? But lovingkindness and truth will be to those who devise good.
23 In all painful labor there is profit, But mere words from the lips lead only to want. 24 The crown of the wise is their riches, But the folly of fools is folly. 25 A truthful witness delivers souls, But he who breathes out lies is deceitful. 26 In the fear of Yahweh there is strong security, And his children will have refuge. 27 The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life, To turn aside from the snares of death. 28 In a multitude of people is a king’s splendor, But in the dearth of people is a prince’s ruin. 29 He who is slow to anger has great discernment, But he who is quick-tempered raises up folly. 30 A tranquil heart is life to the body, But jealousy is rottenness to the bones. 31 He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who is gracious to the needy honors Him. 32 The wicked is thrust down by his own evil, But the righteous takes refuge even in his death. 33 Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, But in the midst of fools it is merely made known. 34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people. 35 The king’s favor is toward a servant who acts insightfully, But his fury is toward him who acts shamefully. — Proverbs 14 | Legacy Standard Bible (LSB) Legacy Standard Bible Copyright ©2021 by The Lockman Foundation. Ps.90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Exciting, Provocative, New!
Something every new life experiences, and every new generation. They are the first to feel, the first to have sex, the first to experience injustice the first to feel special or depressed.
To them their is no commonality in the history of mankind it unreality if they don’t experience it; that old man old woman not human, let alone hundreds thousands of years ago; unreality make believe entertainment ; they’re the first to breath air, feel fear, have anger. 50 to 70 years from “new” reality of the human experience will smack new down into awful evil, self-centre unreality of all humans.
That is why the young don’t get law, they feel law, it doesn’t take a PHD to know evil exist in all of us throughout history, feeling and new doesn’t prevent evil it just promotes more of it. Sadly, the new won’t experience their own destructive fruitage until their old than they will have the wisdom understand it, but not prevent it!
Ecclesiastes 1:2 "Vanity of vanities," says the Preacher; "Vanity of vanities, all is vanity."
Proverbs 30:11 There is a generation that curses their father, and doesn't bless their mother.
Proverbs 30:12 There is a generation that is pure in their own eyes, yet are not washed from their filthiness.
Proverbs 30:13 There is a generation, oh how lofty are their eyes! Their eyelids are lifted up.
Proverbs 30:14 There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, and their jaws like knives, to devour the poor from the earth, and the needy from among men.
Ecclesiastes 1:4 One generation goes, and another generation comes; but the earth remains forever.
Ps.90:1 <<A Prayer by Moses, the man of God.>> Lord, you have been our dwelling place for all generations.
90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, before you had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
90:3 You turn man to destruction, saying, "Return, you children of men."
90:4 For a thousand years in your sight are just like yesterday when it is past, like a watch in the night.
90:5 You sweep them away as they sleep. In the morning they sprout like new grass.
90:6 In the morning it sprouts and springs up. By evening, it is withered and dry.
90:7 For we are consumed in your anger. We are troubled in your wrath.
90:8 You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.
90:9 For all our days have passed away in your wrath. We bring our years to an end as a sigh.
90:10 The days of our years are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty years; yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for it passes quickly, and we fly away.
90:11 Who knows the power of your anger, your wrath according to the fear that is due to you?
90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

In Christianity, an anchorite or anchoret (female: anchoress) is someone who, for religious reasons, withdraws from secular society to be able to lead an intensely prayer-orientated, ascetic, or Eucharist-focused life. While anchorites are frequently considered to be a type of hermit,[2] unlike hermits they were required to take a vow of stability of place, opting for permanent enclosure in cells often attached to churches. Also unlike hermits, anchorites were subject to a religious rite of consecration that closely resembled the funeral rite, following which they would be considered dead to the world and a type of living saint. Anchorites had a certain autonomy, as they did not answer to any ecclesiastical authority other than the bishop.[3]
From the 12th to the 16th centuries, female anchorites consistently outnumbered their male counterparts, sometimes by as many as four to one (in the 13th century) which eventually dropped to two to one (in the 15th century).[5] The sex of a high number of anchorites, however, is not recorded for these periods.[6]
The anchoritic life became widespread during the early and high Middle Ages.[8] Examples of the dwellings of anchorites and anchoresses survive, a large number of which are in England. They tended to be a simple cell (also called anchorhold) built against one of the walls of the local village church.[9] In Germanic-speaking areas, from at least the tenth century it was customary for the bishop to say the Office of the Dead as the anchorite entered their cell, to signify the anchorite's death to the world and rebirth to a spiritual life of solitary communion with God and the angels. Sometimes, if the anchorite was walled up inside the cell, the bishop would put his seal upon the wall to stamp it with his authority. Some anchorites, however, freely moved between their cells and the adjoining churches.[10]
Most anchoritic strongholds were small, perhaps at most 3.7 to 4.6 m (12 to 15 ft) square, with three windows. Viewing the altar, hearing Mass, and receiving the Eucharist were possible through one small, shuttered window in the common wall facing the sanctuary, called a "hagioscope" or "squint". Anchorites provided spiritual advice and counsel to visitors through these windows, gaining a reputation for wisdom.[11] Another small window allowed access to those who saw to the anchorite's physical needs. A third window, often facing the street but covered with translucent cloth, allowed light into the cell.[3]
Anchorites committed to a life of uncompromising enclosure. Those who considered leaving possibly believed their souls might be damned for spiritual dereliction.[12]: 93 [a] Some refused to leave their cells even when pirates or looters were pillaging their towns and consequently burned to death when the church was torched.[13] They ate frugal meals, spending their days both in contemplative prayer and interceding on behalf of others. Their body waste was managed using a chamber pot.[14]Some anchorholds had a few small rooms or attached gardens. Servants tended to the basic needs of anchorites, providing food and water and removing waste. Julian of Norwich, for example, is known to have had several maidservants, among them Sara and Alice. Aelred of Rievaulx wrote an anchorite rule book, c. 1161, for his recluse sister titled De Institutione Inclusarum;[15] in it, he suggested keeping no housemates other than an older woman, to act as companion and doorkeeper, and a young maid as domestic servant.[16]
honestly? with the garden, not that bad, for the time
there was one 1945-1990!
Following a private audience with Venerable Pope Pius XII, Crotta was invited into the Camaldolese monastery in Rome on November 21, 1945 to live as a "recluse" or lay anchoress. She then took the name Maria-Nazarena of Jesus.[3]
Nazarena was to remain in a secluded cell in that monastery, leading a strict ascetic regime for the rest of her life, hearing Mass through a grille and receiving her food and messages from the Mother Superior and the other nuns through a slot in the door to her cell. She spoke to no one directly, except once a year, when she spoke to the priest who served as her spiritual director. Those meetings could last an entire day, during which she would talk for hours.
she was from connecticut!

Pope Francis said atheists are covered by the blood of Jesus without faith. Pope Francis said all religions lead to God and should be embraced. He said non-Christians are children of God. He said God made some people gay. Pope Francis said Jesus' life and the cross ended in failure. Pope Francis said Jesus is not a spirit, but a glorified man. Pope Francis said it's absurd to think that anyone can have a personal direct relationship with Jesus Christ. Pope Francis said that Mary is the road we must travel to reach God. These are all lies from Satan. Pope Francis is possibly the False Prophet from the book of Revelation. If so, he will usher in the Antichrist from Revelation 13. Nobody in the Bible prayed to Mary. Purgatory is unbiblical. Watch the video Pope Francis and His Lies: False Prophet exposed on YouTube. Also watch Are Catholics Saved on the Reformed Christian Teaching channel on YouTube. Watch the Messiah 2030 YouTube channel for proof that 53 Bible prophecies point to 2030, which is also the year of the Great Reset. Friends should draw you closer to holiness and Jesus Christ. If they pull you towards sin more than holiness then you should walk away. Obey Jesus Christ over everyone. Get the gotquestions app and a Bible app that reads to you like You Version. Put the New Testament on repeat. Get a study Bible. I used to go to Catholic Church until I studied the Bible. I found out that nobody prayed to Mary, she was a sinner, she wasn't called holy or the Queen of Heaven, she didn't die a virgin, purgatory & lent are unbiblical, Popes sin too, we can confess our sins directly to God, we should only call God in Heaven Father, Jesus built His church on what Peter said about Jesus and not on Peter, scripture says Jesus Christ is the Rock not Peter, all Christians are saints because of Jesus, angels aren't saints, we're only supposed to pray to God, not Mary, since she isn't a comediatrix, Jesus is the only mediator between God & men, Christians are the church. Ecclesiastes 9:5 says the dead know nothing, so Mary can't hear us. I realized that Martin Luther was correct for starting the Protestant reformation. Also, The movie Spotlight is based on a true story regarding the Catholic Church.
For more information go here: www.gotquestions.org/catholicism.html & See Pope Francis and His Lies: The False Prophet Exposed, on YouTube. Also, watch Are Catholics Saved on the Reformed Christian Teaching channel on YouTube. Messiah 2030, on YouTube shows how 53 Bible prophecies point to 2030. The Antichrist & rapture are close. According to the Holy Bible Christians are saints & the church. The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) made people believe lies like purgatory & Popes & Mary being sinless. Then Martin Luther who was a devout Catholic monk that translated the Bible saw 95 major lies from the Vatican like people paying the RCC to get into Heaven. He told everyone. People realized the truth & started translating the Bible into English for every person to read for themselves. The Popes had many murdered for translating the Bible. Thank God the Bible got translated into other languages. It allowed people around the world to leave the lies of the Roman Catholic Church & start the Protestant reformation. He exposed lies like the Pope speaks for Jesus & doesn't sin, & only Catholics go to Heaven. Popes caused the crusades even though Jesus said that the meek shall inherit the Earth not the violent or murderers. Nobody in the Bible said to pray to another Christian. The RCC did that. It's unbiblical & against the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Good morning children! Father Jim Defroque speaking. Todays topic: Greed.
Now, Green is one of the seven most deadly sins.
If you have greed, you most likely have the other six close behind.
But what IS greed? ruthless self–seeking and an arrogant assumption that others and things exist for one's own benefit.
Are there ways to avoid greed?
Yes. I recommend trying your hardest, remember.. god will forgive you no matter what!
