CHORUS: Perception may shift, but meaning remains unchanged.  ROSE: That implies perception is not itself meaning.  CHORUS: So we exist in a world of illusions?  ROSE: Sure.

Are you a fan of my surrealist 3-act Jade play At Rise? Do you have no idea what I'm talking about but think it sounds interesting? Are you a fan of Rose Lalonde? Do you support lesbianism? If the answer to any of those questions was yes, you should check out my new play DRAMATIS PERSONAE, which is a 3-act surrealist play about Rose! Act 1 is currently out.

Dough'ndel (Beast of Nurgle)
Acquired from @hourgath-the-putrid, Dough'ndel is a Plaguedog of Nurgle given as a gift to Khazaan. He is larger than other beasts of his kind, standing over half the height of his new master and has enough mass to even knock the Bloodthirster over. Fortunately, the Beast is rather well behaved as far as Slime Hounds go. Even though Dough'ndel is perfectly capable of combat, Khazaan uses him more for emotional reasons than anything. Of course, he would never admit that.

this story does not have a villain but it does have The Main Asshole
Character: Alexander Yunt Professor of magic, well known for his works in spell interaction, fixation of magical flows, drift compensation and, bizzarely, bio-engineering. Very prolific in his younger years, has professed a goal of finding out the true nature of the noosphere (where magic comes from) and, with it, of the universe. Wants to bring humanity to pre-catastrophe scientific&technomagical levels and above. A. Yunt never married, but since a young age he had lived together with his co-author Martin Rodcree (also male, the nature of their relationship is widely (but quietly) speculated upon). He also fathered a frankly inordinate amount of children, all sons, all born within the same year for some reason. The mothers of his children are unknown.
An incident at his home (failed experiment? none of the Yunts agree to elaborate on it) has left him severely disabled and cost him his co-author (partner??) and several of his sons. Since then, Professor Yunt has been a lot less prolific with his research and almost never takes on doctorate students. actual juicy info under the cut
No one knows this (although some suspect), but Alexander improved upon himself immensely via magic, in ways that are frowned upon and/or downright illegal in the academic community. (Martin was similarly improved, but to a lesser degree.)
An incident in college, after which Alexander and Martin had to leave the city for a while, left Alexander with severe trust problems. He knows something that may change the scientific community's entire outlook on noosphere, and he doesn't tell it to anyone, because it's dangerous information that has gotten at least two people killed.
His actual goal is to figure out a way for humanity to leave the physical world and break out into the higher-order mathematical structure that the physical world and the noosphere are part of, which will, of course, survive the heat death of the universe and all that. The only one who knows this is Martin, who of course helps Alexander in all his endeavors.
At one point Alexander realized that the two-person team of him and Martin will take way too long to get to his goal. Since he can't trust any new people enough to bring them in on the goal, any outside help is just other professors randomly getting interested in what Alexander needs, and that's way too inefficient.
So he decided to create new people for his team. That's how the kids happened. Alexander deemed natural procreation too random for his standards (he was heavily magically enhanced by the time, so he had a point -- no one could've told what his natural offspring would look like), so he just made them (that's mostly where his bioengineering works come from). The kids were created as already improved humans; you could say they are more artifacts than children.
To cover up the boys' nature, he and Martin went on a long trip when the boys were almost done, and when the kids started "showing up" in several years, Martin would gossip with colleagues and hint that Alexander was extremely promiscuous during that trip (and that he had to personally talk Alexander into taking responsibility for his actions).
Currently (i.e., at the beginning of the story), Alexander lives at the Yunt family home (which he built together with Martin after they got rid of a contagious curse that the local nobles' kids caught while messing in the dark forest, which netted them a large sum of money), together with his post-grad apprentice, the first one in years. The apprentice also works as a live-in maid in exchange for having access to the Yunt family laboratories.
