Barney McKenna was the last surviving founding member of the Irish folk group the Dubliners. With Luke Kelly’s powerful voice and force of nature on stage, Ronnie Drew’s gravelly memorable vocal sound, it was McKenna’s playing of the tenor banjo, coupled with John Sheahan’s fiddle, that gave the Dubliners their original instrumental quality. Talk by chaplain to Ukrainian Community, 6th April, 7.30 pm
Fr Vasyl Kornitsky is chaplain to the Ukrainian community in Dublin. He is based in Donnycarney Parish. I spoke with him recently and asked him if he would give a talk in our parish on the needs of the Ukrainian community in Dublin. He was delighted to take up my offer. He mentioned to me that there were thousands of women and children in various forms of accommodation in the city. Recently, he arranged a very successful trip to the Zoo for children, although when a passenger plane flew overhead, some of them panicked. He will speak in our parish church on Wednesday, 6th April, at 7.30 pm. After the talk, there will be a collection towards his work with the Ukrainian community in Dublin. Fr Martin

Gravel Driveway in Donnycarney, Dublin
This gravel driveway has been recently completed by Select Paving in Donnycarney, Dublin.
First we dug out the original driveway while preserving the existing raised flower beds. Then we laid down fresh hardcore foundation on top of a heavy duty membrane.
We created some irregular, curved borders with Silver Granite Cobbles for an eye catching design. The rest of the driveway was filled with gravel chippings and raked down smooth.
We installed a new, large doorstep to mirror the design of the driveway.
