Do you think that Kokichi had any remorse for Gonta during trial 4 or did he actually not care? I've seen a lot of people saying different opinions from both sides of the argument. But I'm really confused because there was a moment where after Gonta was executed, correct me if I'm wrong but Shuichi asked Kokichi if he could reveal the secret of the outside world (?) But Kokichi replied with something like “I don't want to....” and seemed generally upset? But then a few moments later he snapped out if it and began acting like he had no sympathy whatsoever. I just really wanna know how Kokichi actually, truly felt about Gonta and if he regretted manipulating him. Sorry if you've already been asked this and have already given an answer, thank you!
Hi anon—I actually wrote a pretty big master-post on chapter 4 not too long ago which I think more or less sums up my thoughts on Ouma’s behavior in the post-trial! You can find it here if you want (it’s pretty long and I tried to answer a whole bunch of questions about Ouma in chapter 4 specifically, since it’s the chapter I get asked about the most).
More specifically though, I’m afraid that there is no easy, definitive answer to that question. I can only share my personal opinions about how I believe Ouma felt in that scene. And personally? I do think he was genuinely upset and distraught about Gonta’s death, that he even momentarily considered giving up all his plans and being executed alongside him, and that he cared about Gonta and deeply regretted using him as a sacrificial pawn in his plans.
I’ll discuss what I mean in more detail, but it’ll probably get pretty long, so I’ll put the rest of this post under a cut as always!
The thing is, though, I’ve shared my personal thoughts about the chapter 4 post trial many times, including my reasoning and all of the textual evidence that shows how much Ouma cared about the rest of his classmates. But ultimately, there will probably always be some people who disagree, because their reading of the text will always be a little bit different. Unless we ever have an interview from Kodaka in the future where he directly says, “this is what Ouma was thinking and feeling at this exact moment,” there really won’t ever be a way to know what was going through his head with 100% certainty (and I do feel like leaving it open-ended is something of Kodaka’s intention, anyway, especially since Ouma is supposed to be a very polarizing character).
That being said, I do think it’s worth analyzing the text and drawing your own conclusions, because ndrv3 is a game that changes a lot depending on how you interpret it, and Ouma’s character is included in that. It’s really easy on a first playthrough to get wrapped up in what Ouma says or does without really looking at why he says it, or at his underlying motivations. Going back through the game on a replay though, I do personally think it’s possible to guess at what he might have been feeling during those super conflicting scenes in chapter 4.
In my opinion, I think Ouma did truly care about Gonta as a friend, and that his guilt and remorse over what he did was genuine. Not only did Ouma and DICE have a very strict taboo against killing (mentioned directly in his motive video in Japanese, though the part about it being an actual rule was stripped from the localization), but we don’t see Ouma’s façade crack like this very often. Most of the time when he does his trademark “crocodile tears,” it’s with his very loud, exaggerated crying sprite, and he bounces right back to acting normally within a moment or two.
There are a few exceptions to this, of course—he uses the “crocodile tears” sprite to cry at Kaede, Amami, and Toujou’s deaths, but it’s still very likely he was shaken up by seeing them dead). Nonetheless, we don’t see his much more subdued crying sprites more than a handful of times, particularly in the chapter 4 post-trial just before Gonta’s execution, as well as in Momota’s flashback in chapter 5 when he talks about how Ouma actually hated the killing game the whole time.
I’m aware that some people simply brush these moments aside and assume that Ouma is lying though all of them, but I personally just can’t agree with that interpretation. Assuming that Ouma is lying whenever he shows remorse or guilt or hatred for the killing game means assuming that he’s telling the truth in pretty much every other scene—which doesn’t make much sense, given that his entire character is centered around the concept of lying, as well as moral ambiguity and subverting expectations. Assuming that Ouma actually means what he’s saying 100% of the time unless it just happens to involve showing any kind of guilt or remorse turns him into a very boring, predictable, uninspired character (none of which are words I would use to describe him personally).
Ignoring those moments where Ouma shows genuine attachment to his classmates and distaste for the killing game also means ignoring several key pieces of evidence and clues about him that we are directly provided in the game, including his motive video and Momota’s flashback in chapter 5. Personally, I don’t feel like there’s any reason to include these scenes at all unless it’s to help shed light on Ouma’s motivations and provide players with a clear reason to try and go back through the game again to look at Ouma’s actions through a new perspective.
I also feel that Ouma genuinely cared about Gonta because to put it simply, there was no incentive for him to lie in that scene. He got absolutely nothing out of it—and considering he turns around and starts playing the villain on purpose all of 5 minutes after Gonta’s death, he definitely wasn’t trying to earn sympathy points or trick the rest of his classmates into trusting him. In fact, he could’ve easily tried to make himself look more sympathetic by putting all of the blame on Miu for trying to kill him, or even on Gonta. But instead he fully admits to coming up with the plan to kill Miu and spends the entire post-trial trying to convince everyone not to hate or blame Gonta.
If he was truly as sadistic and horrible as he pretended to be, I think he would’ve pulled a 180 and started throwing names and insults around while Gonta was still alive to hear it, not after he was already dead. If he didn’t care at all about Gonta’s feelings, he had no reason to try and take all the blame on himself while insisting that none of what happened was actually Gonta’s fault. If anything, revealing himself to be this horrible, evil villain who enjoys seeing other people suffer or die would’ve really been adding insult to injury, and probably would’ve crushed Gonta completely, even before his execution started.
But… Ouma doesn’t do any of this. Despite having every opportunity to either portray himself as more of a victim and fling all the blame on Miu and Gonta, or else to completely embrace being a villain who loved seeing people suffer, he doesn’t do either of these things. The way I personally see it, Ouma waits until Gonta is already dead, and when the rest of his classmates begin pushing him for answers about the outside world and demanding to know what Gonta saw, that’s when he finally snaps and resigns himself to acting like a villain in order to make everyone hated.
You could argue that trying to make everyone hate him had a twofold effect: it helped set the stage for him to pretend to be the ringleader in the next chapter, which he clearly wanted, but it also was a way of taking things out on himself and shows just a small glimpse of how much he hated having to dirty his hands in chapter 4. After all, Ouma even says it himself: that the “role of a villain is perfect for him,” because he’s already made everyone hate him. We see Ouma occasionally tease or antagonize the rest of his classmates plenty of times throughout the game, but it’s true that he doesn’t really step into that “villain” role until the end of chapter 4, once he’s crossed a line that he can never come back from by manipulating both Miu and Gonta to their deaths.
None of this is to say that what Ouma did to Gonta is okay, by any means. I think he definitely did care about Gonta and even thought of him as one of the few trustworthy people in the killing game, even someone close to a friend, but that doesn’t mean that manipulating him and using him like a chess piece was okay in the end. I just also think it’s important to realize that there were plenty of extenuating circumstances that led Ouma to act the way he did—including the fact tha he knew Miu was going to kill him, that he already suspected she had measures to prevent him from fighting back or killing her himself in the VR world, and the fact that he did not want to die or get everyone else killed in the trial.
It’s possible for people to care about others without necessarily treating them the best or doing the right thing. A huge part of Danganronpa, something that’s been evident from the very first game, is that sometimes characters can and do hurt each other, even when they care about each other or wouldn’t be a threat otherwise.
It’s the existence of the killing game itself that causes so many characters to go to extremes that they normally wouldn’t, whether it’s Maizono trying to frame Naegi in dr1 despite caring about him a lot, Kaede deciding to try and commit murder under everyone’s noses despite trying to unite the group and wanting everyone to trust her, or Ouma using Gonta as a pawn to kill Miu in his place because he didn’t want to die.
At the end of the day, people are still probably going to have very polarizing opinions about Ouma and the things he did in chapter 4, and that’s honestly okay. In my own opinion, Ouma definitely isn’t a completely flawless, innocent baby who “did nothing wrong”—he absolutely is manipulative, cold, and calculating when he wants to be, and it’s a fact that he got two people killed, even if he didn’t want things to reach that point. But I also personally don’t think it’s fair to write him off as the exact kind of “evil villain” he pretends to be; not only is it a shortsighted interpretation of his larger motivations, but it also completely ignores any replay value and completely shoots down the appeal of trying to interpret Ouma’s thoughts and actions because “he was lying about feeling bad anyway, what’s the point in analyzing him.”
Tl;dr: I do think Ouma cares about Gonta, that he probably even thought of him as the closest thing he had to a friend in the killing game, and that what he did to Gonta in the end wasn’t okay. I think he really did respect Gonta for being such a sweet and kind person, but that he also knew Gonta was extremely naïve and that he would be one of the easiest people in their group to manipulate, hence why he decided to rely on him instead of anyone else. Their friendship is an important part of both of their character arcs, but it’s definitely not what I would call “on equal footing.”
I understand why Ouma’s actions might make some people really resent him, but I also believe that kneejerk reaction of anger and dismissal is exactly the point: Ouma does feel terrible about the things he did, but he doesn’t want anyone’s sympathy or forgiveness, not even the player’s. This, in my opinion, is why he starts embracing the villain role so completely from this point on, and why he’s never quite able to make the same sort of cold, calculating sacrifices in chapter 5 that he did in chapter 4.
I hope this helps answer your question, anon, along with the other chapter 4 post I wrote! Thank you for all your support!

Asra
Having known Asra for three years now, she considers their relationship as teacher and student. At least it was until the incident at the palace fountain. Now Aurora acknowledges his love for her (It was easily obvious based on their past interactions), but it's difficult to love someone back when you barely even know them. She does care about Asra though. After all, he was the first person she met upon opening her eyes for the first time and was there to help her adjust to this new lifestyle. He’s also the only person who knows about her phoenix form and enable in hiding it from public view. Yet, she doesn't want to hurt his feelings and attempts to rekindle their bond. Even it's all pretend and memories of someone else...
Julian
The moment Julian first entered her shop and took off his mask, it was love at first sight. She couldn't help but feel captivated by the doctor from the tips of his curly auburn hair to his flair for the dramatics. It didn't help the fact when she discovered his “kinks”. Everything about him had given rise to a different side of her character: More confident, more vivacious, more...seductive. Despite her task by the Countess to report him to the guards if found, Aurora doesn't believe Julian to be the culprit behind the death of Count Lucio, either out of foolish love or lawful justice. Whatever the case may be, she knows it is unjust to take a man’s life without credible evidence.
Nadia
Aurora was quick to accept her unexpected visit to her shop. It would be rude to close up right then and there before a customer would arrive. It would only take a few minutes anyway. So you can imagine her surprise when the Countess unveiled her hood, revealing her true identity. Aurora felt a bit intimidated by her presence, bowing to her instinctively out of respect towards royalty. But after being showered with gifts and fine dining by Nadia and then being invited to her palace, her guard had diminished a bit. Although she is nervous about telling the Countess of her skepticisms around Julian and the Count’s death, she still appreciates the offerings yet wishes she could give back in return for her generous hospitality.
Portia
Instant BFFs!!! Both respect the countess and deeply care about their loved ones to the point of risking their lives for them, including against the courtiers. It's uncanny for both of them to get into mischief around Versuvia as well. And since Portia is Julian’s little sister, Aurora has another reason to further deny Nadia’s order and trusts her in reclaiming his innocence. She’s also the first to notice Aurora’s infatuation with her brother.
Muriel
It would be a lie to say that Aurora wasn’t spooked by Muriel’s sudden appearance at her shop. She was careful not to poke the bear with the stick though. After their second encounter at the marketplace, she finds herself walking on eggshells as she attempts to form a friendship with this stranger and his connections with Asra and the others.
Lucio
Although Aurora has never met the Count in person and only knows him via words from others, it suffices to say that she’s not the biggest fan of him. Looking at his portrait in the dining room, she could easily see the arrogance within him. Of course, you can’t judge a book by its cover. So after being pulled into his wing by his fellow canines and encountering his supposed ghost, curiosity pulls her to investigate further. If she dared to gain evidence from the victim behind the crime.
The Courtiers
Her outlook on them varies between each member.
Procurator Volta is the only one with whom Aurora seems to have a stable bond. Because of her small stature and naive, childlike mannerism, she didn't pose much of a threat, especially after Aurora discovered her weakness pretty quickly. Whatever info she wants from the courtiers, she’ll get it easily from Volta with a single plate of roasted pork. At first, Aurora was only using her as an easy outsource for evidence. But the more she shared food with Volta, the more closer Aurora got with the procurator. To the point where she often acts like a big sister for Volta anytime one of the courtiers or anyone else is giving her a bad time.
Praetor Vlastomil is a peculiar individual in her book. Aurora was a bit weirded out by his fascination with worms but not too disgusted. In her words, it's not the most unusual obsession she's seen before. Despite that, Aurora’s a bit salty towards Vlastomil instilling false accusations against Julian for the Count’s death.
Conversations with Pontifex Vulgora are never peaceful. Violent confrontations are common between them.
Aurora’s relationship with Consul Valerius is a mixed bag of civil chats and snarky insults. They aren’t on each other’s best terms with his snobbish sass and her unrelenting stubbornness.
Quaestor Valdemar is the only one that managed to send chills down Aurora’s spine. Something about their demeanor and tone as well as their obsession with science itself I settled her. She tries to keep her distance from Valdemar. But if they dare hurt one of her loved ones, she won’t hesitate to confront them.
Regardless of her grudges with each of the courtiers, she’ll instantly drop all of them once their lives are in peril.
Her Familiar
Lexi is the name of her Canadian Goose familiar. She was a gift given by Asra (And Muriel). Aurora loves her goose the day she hatched out from the egg. Raised as a free-range, Aurora will sometimes take her wherever she goes, either to the marketplace to buy her favorite bread from the baker or the docks/town square for a swim. She’ll have her waddling behind her. Other times, Lexi will be in her satchel, which she hates. But it's necessary in order to keep an eye on her from causing a fuss in town.

Backstory:
Aurora recalls no memory before waking in the shop with Asra hovering over her. Both were scared and confused upon first meeting. Asra baffled by his “apprentice” coming back to life as a bird rather than, what he expected, human, while Aurora was overwhelmed with who/what/where questions. It took him overnight to gather his bearings and settle her down before anything else could happen. The next few weeks were spent inside the shop, helping her regain basic skills such as cooking, teaching her magic, and explaining the new world she's in. Teaching her about Versuvia and its history and culture.
Once she was able to master cloaking a human form, she was allowed to explore the outside world with Asra, or rather as far as the city perimeter. Either way, she felt so free to finally see what lies beyond the walls of the magic shop. But then Aurora started noticing small details, specifically the strange looks from the people. As if she doesn't belong here despite Asra’s encouragement.
There were a few gaps in Asra’s retelling of her life, some that made no sense. Minus the occasional headaches and catatonics now and then, she's also experiencing unusual nightmares. Dreams of herself but... a different version of her, as if from the past. The details are a bit hazy but all that Aurora recalls are that she was in her phoenix form with someone and a different person back then.
She doesn't know where to look for clues yet knows that Asra may not have all the answers she wanted. Whatever the reason may be for her existence, she's determined to find the truth.
Whatever it takes.

Daenerys Targareyan: The Path Towards Madness.
Okay let's begin.
Intro: I read book 1. And then, I binge watched seasons 1-6 after season 6 finale. By that time, I knew all the major theories like L+R=J, dark!dany, targ!tyrion etc.
So, I was paying extra attention and these are some of the obvious moments where I felt they showed Dany's mad side show. Some points, you may find valid. Some points you may find silly and over-reaching. In any case, this is what *I* felt.
Feel free to have discussions. Appreciate positive critisism. However, just yelling/abusing will not be tolerated.
1. Lack of Empathy
Her obvious lack of empathy when her brother was killed.
I did not expect her to save him. I did not expect her to mourn him. I did not even expect her to cry for him. I did, however, expect a reaction, any sort of reaction, when someone close (despite him being an abusive asshole) dies that suddenly and that violently.
Tumblr media
2. Her facial expression during Drogo's speech.
"I will kill the men in iron suits and tear down their stone houses! I will rape their women, take their children as slaves and bring their broken gods back to Vaes Dothrak!"
Tumblr media
3. During her Breaker of Chains phase, she conviniently seemed to forget that she used to practice not only slavery, but also pillaging while she was with her khalesar.
Master Illeryoi owned slaves. Her brother owned slaves. She was gifted slaves to teach her how to please the Khal.
Her husband was a war-lord and her khalesar constantly raided and pillaged villages. They killed men. They raped women. Remaining alive women were taken as sex slaves and later sold. That was their way of life. She saved Mirri Maz Duur and several other women from the fate of gang rape and murder but they were still dragged along side the khalasar as slaves. In books, the reason MMD was not sold was so that she can assist Dany during childbirth.
4. The burning of Mirri Maz Duur (MMD)
This is going to make sense to a lot of people. But confuse the fuck out of many. But let's see.
In colonized countries, we have a term called "Savior's Complex". It is where a colonizer raids a country, steal its riches, impose extreme taxing, destory most of its heritage and then expect praise for bringing something (could be education, technology, architecture).
Dany takes the complex another step above. She not only expects gratitude from an enslaved MMD while dragging her along with her khalesar with sole purpose of assistance with childbirth, she also expects her to save the life of her husband. The war-lord whose khalesar raided her home, pillaged her village, killed her countrymen, raped/killed her countrywomen, dragged remaining alive women along with the khalesar to be sold later. Despite all this, Dany expects gratitude from MMD for her life. This flawed logic however is thrown back in her face.
"So, tell me again exactly what it was that you saved?"
"Your life."
"Why don't you take a look at your Khal? Then you will see exactly what life is worth, when all the rest has gone."
This is an old age tale of revenge. Khal raided her village. She took revenge on them for destroying her temple. Dany burned her for it.
What completely bamboozled me in this fandom was how much people hated MMD for what she did while completely making Dany the victim in this scenario while forgetting that MMD was the orginal victim who was not only an enslaved prisoner of war, but also gang-raped victim of her khalesar's doing.
5. Ser Barriston's words.
Ser Barriston in Mereen, tells her to treat injustice with mercy. She replies that she will treat injustice with justice.
Another quote by Ser Barriston: "He gave people the people the justice he thought they deserved."
Justice and what people in power percieve as justice is often very different.
6. Daenerys' justice for the crucified slave children
She did that by choosing 163 random Great Masters and crucifying them to avenge the 163 slave children. This seems like justice. But is it, really? They never recieved trial. They were never proven guilty. Like Hizdahr Loraq said, some of the masters were not in favor of crucifying children and tried very hard to stop it. Who knows how many other good masters she crucified?
This is a direct parallel to Ser Barriston's words about Mad King Aerys: "He gave people the people the justice he thought they deserved."
7. She stopped slavery only when it benefitted her.
Some of you, while reading point 6, may have thought, "They were SLAVERS! So what?!".
Well, while choosing 163 masters, Dany decided that all Masters are her enemies. She decided that all of them deserved punishment. She decided that they were guilty just for engaging in slavery while conviniently forgetting that if that were the case, she should be the one in the first cross.
8. She burnt Great Masters without even investigating who were behind the Sons of Harpy's attack.
After Ser Barriston's death, we again get to see more of her twisted sense of justice. By her own words, "Who is innocent? Maybe all of you are, maybe none of you are. Maybe, I should let the dragons decide."
It is not supposed to be called justice if you punish (and a cruel punishment, at that) without even caring whether they are innocent or not.
Tumblr media
9. "You are a conquerer. Not a ruler."
Time and time again Dany proves this to be true. She conquered Yunkai and left immeidetely. The slavers took back the city in no time. She closed off the fighting pits and refused to open them despite being told that participants will be free men who enter willingly. This is where ruling comes in. Any place she conquered and freed, she failed to put something else to keep up the economy. She collapsed the economy so bad that slaves were selling themselves again.
Tumblr media
10. Wrongful imprisonment.
Dany finds that Drogon has harmed children. The correct response is to either train or punish the dragons. She, however, imprisons the two dragons who werent at fault while Drogon ran free. Does that mean she is not responsible for whatever terror or death Drogon caused to wherever he flew off to? What exactly does imprisoning Rhaegar and Viseryion get her?
What kind of justice is it where the accused is free while the innocent get prisoned for association. Again, feeds into the twisted justice train.
11. Twisted Justice. Hipocrisy. Again.
While many men were fed to dragons, Hizdahr Loraq was imporisoned. He begged for mercy in terror. She also decides that she will show her respect for Meereen by marrying a member of one of its great families. For a woman who was forced into marriage and "sold like a broodmare", she sure didn't feel any moral dilemma in making a terrifed man betroth her. His death though, proved that he was not at all involved with Sons of Harpy and he was imprisoned for nothing.
12. Burning POW's
Burning Tarly's (father and son) was a direct paralell to her father burning Ned's father and brother alive. You cannot hide behind "It was a war. She gave them a choice." No matter what defenses one can attempt to give her, killing (forget burning) POW is a war crime. So is forcing prisoners against their own side of war.
Tumblr media
13. Defending cruelty in path of justice
She killed Tarly's and defended that decision, by saying that was necessary.
When Hizdahr asks her how many men will have died to achieve her goal, she says "They would have died for a greater cause." She is talking about destroying cities and sure, that must be for a greater purpose.
When Tyrion reminds her that about what her father planned to do when she said she wnated to burn Mereen to the ground.. her response was "This is different,". How, exactly?
"The easiest way to defend cruelty is to say that it is part of the destiny."
Tumblr media
14. The insinct to burn down cities.
By s8e01, she has wanted to burn down cities thrice. Meereen - once. King's Landing - twice. Both times, she had to be talked out of it by her advisors. The fact that her first instinct when her plans were failing was to burn down cities. Direct parallel to Aerys wanting to destroy king's landing because he thought there were traitors everywhere. The fact is that a person can surrond themselves with good counsel. But it is not necessary that the counsel is always heeded. Which is what happened to Aerys. He was going incresingly mad for months and his counsel members hid the fact from the outside world because they thought they could control the madness. We all know what happened in the end.
Since s7, Dany has been becoming increasingly paranoid about Tyrion's loyalty and increasingly more frustrated with every loss. How long before she decides not to listen to them anymore?
Tumblr media
15. The entire collonialist/white savior imagary presented in Essos.
It is amazing how most of the fandom either ignores it or is just unaware of it.
Though this point doesnt parallel anything to the show, i just found it extremely cringy. I am sure members of most colonized countries would. I cant even beging to describe how cringy that mysha scene was.
16. The typical white priviledge mentality.
She wants to inherit her ancestor's throne and power. But she doesnt want to repent for her ansestor's sins and betrayal.
17. Wrong sense of entitlement
She truly believes that she is entitled to the North's fealty. She asks Jon Snow not to judge her based on her ancestors and in the same breath asks him to hold up the vows of his ancestors.
But, whatever vow the Starks made to the Targareans was broken the moment Aerys decided to burn the Starks. The fealty was made on promise of protection. Technically, any member of the houses that Aerys burnt, is no longer accountable to the vow.
Still, she expects everyone to uphold their fealty but refusing to accpet that her father broke that fealty when he decided to burn the vassels (whom he promised to protect) alive.
18. Savior Complex
Some parts of Dany reminds me of how missionaries work.
"Will your God punish me for not praying to him if I did not know about him?"
"No."
"Then why did you tell me about him?"
I believe one thing about Daenerys Targareyan. That she truly wants to help people. That she truly wants to save people. But her problem is, she wants to be the one to save people. She doesnt seem to understand that some people dont require saving.
She talks about freeing the world of tyrants and in the same breath refuses to give North the independence that they demand in solidarity. How is that not the definition of tyranny?
This is Westeros. I am not expecting a democracy and free elections. If she wants to be a conquerer, then she can be one. If she wants to bring to bring together the 7k, she can. What she cannot do is talk about destiny, talk about a wheel, talk about breaking the wheel, and and then do the exact same thing her ansestors did years go by spinning the wheel so that she is on top.
19. She was smiling when she saw that her dragons terrified people of Winterfell.
20. "They eat whatever they want"
Is that really the correct way to respond to people are already scared/cowering over the arrival of dragons? To people who have never seen such beasts before? Did she forget that few seasons ago "whatever they want" that Drogon ate were children?
Tumblr media
21. Jaime's trial
She made Jaime stand trial and was heavily leaning towards punish him despite the fact that she knew what her father had planned and what Jaime Lannister had done. She openly spoke in favor of the Mad King in front of Northern Lords. When Tyrion intervened, she publically breated him and questioned his loyalty. Further adds to the Mad King's paranoia and unwillingness to listen to counsel.
22. Jaime Lannister
Not only has he tried to kill her, he has also questioned her intentions twice. The only living person who knows about Mad King more than anyone is perhaps Jaime Lannister. When he questions Tyrion, "Is she really different? Are you sure?" in a sceptical tone. If he doesnt trust her or thinks she had the Targ madness, then I am willing to bet that she probably does.
23. Her decling human connections
the show seems adament in making her seem alone. Like a stranger in her own home land. In an episode full of emotional reconnections, tenderness, friendships and relationships, she is shown all alone. In later episodes, she is incresingly shown alientated: Theon coming to fight for the starks despite being her bannerman, death of the Jorah, Tyrion's withdrawal.
Tumblr media
24. jorah was her mercy.
She had shown jorah mercy despite his betrayal. She cared for him and most importantly, completely trusted and listened to him. When she felt no remorse about berating Tyrion and strongarming Sansa, jorah urges her to forgive tyrion and to try and make amends with LAdy of Winterfell. And, she listened to him. He is the only advisor she fully trusts and listens to without having to worry about wavering loyalties. And jorah's death is going to be the acorn in Ice Age that started the avalanche.

<<2 episodes left. will add more after next one airs.>>
This is not to say that she was an evil character. She was a good person with good intentions and bad execution with a twisted sense of justice and destiny. But, the journey to hell is paved with good intensions. Dany was a character who had the potential to be great. But she was always headed to doom. She is a good person whose downfall will be due to pride, ambition and obsession with destiny. She will chose her fate with a sound mind but a flawed personality. Her story will not be heroic, but tragic. Not because of what she was, but because of how she could have been.

Ahem- Coming from a hardcore fangirl (plus new follower UwU). Can I ask for a yandere (if you don't know it's bacicly love sick for a person they care about) Angie,Tojo,Maki,Amami, and Tenko reacting if the one they have strong feelings to is about to get executed? (it's okay if this ask is not worthy- but hey good luck-)
Hello there! And of course you can! I recently learned what a ‘yandere’ is, so I should be set. Thank you for your request and wishing me good luck! I’ll try my best! Though, I’m not sure what you mean by ‘not worthy’? There is no request that is not worthy! (My response to this request contains some sensitive material, so please be careful!)
Tumblr media
Angie Yonaga
- “Atua has declared that Angie is destined to be with you! It is forbidden to go against his word, so don’t run away! Nyahahaha!”
- For someone so blithe and jolly, it was rather uncanny how clingy and unpleasantly persistent Angie was. Perhaps that is why it’s so unsettling? Her grip on your arm was alarmingly firm when she wanted it to be, such as when she would remind you to maintain your innocence and purity so she can someday transcend with you.
- But it would seem that you will leave without her. You committed murder in hopes to escape her. You didn’t believe in her religion, in the presence of Atua … so, death would do you part, right?
- You stupefy your surrounding classmates as you reveal your reasonings for committing murder, and horrify them even further as you happily accept your fate. What an inconsiderate reason to murder. You could have just done away with yourself alone, but you chose not to. As you waited for Monokuma to drag you away, you hear your name being called by her voice.
- “You did this because Atua told you to. Angie knows, because he told Angie. It is because we were meant to be together, forever! So, Angie will see S/O soon!”
- Despair. Despair is the only thing you feel as you realize that there is even the slightest chance that you might see her again. And surely enough, following your execution, Angie was found dead in a sea of her own blood, surrounded by towering totems. You two will be together forever now! Atua said so! Nyahaha!
Kirumi Tojo
- You were her master, and as such, she was always by your side. Always. You have requested several times that she distance herself from you, but she insists that if she were to heed to your wishes, she would be unable to protect you. From what, you were unsure. But there was no changing her mind.
- But she was right. You harbored no malicious intentions at the time, and still don’t, but your actions were misunderstood, and one of your classmates antagonized you. They had set up an elaborate trap for you to trigger and fall prey to, resulting in yet another murder and your execution. Kirumi was right … and you regret ever having doubted her. She only wanted the best for you, and you doubted her.
- Before you could apologize, a shackle closed around your neck and you were snatched by Monokuma, pulled through numerous dark hallways and confined to a chair. You close your eyes, tears streaming down your face. You didn’t want to see what will become of you. You wait. And wait. But the double doors in front of you slam open, and Kirumi bolts to you. She dodges numerous trap doors, spikes, flames and swinging objects before finally picking up the chair you were strapped to.
- She dashes for the doors in a wild, unpredictable manner, throwing off Monokuma’s traps. Once outside the room and in a dimly lit hallway, Kirumi quickly releases you from your imprisonment. It seemed ominously easy. And Monokuma did nothing to stop her. She clutches your wrist and pulls you along, speeding as fast as she could for the next set of double doors. She could already see it. These hallways will never end, and it will be door after door after door …
- But she was wrong. Upon making it only slightly past the doors that were ahead, with you not too far behind, she felt it. And then she heard it. The slight movement of air generated by the closing of the doors. And then the booming sound of the doors coming together. It resonated and reverberated in the hallway, echoing off the walls. And just like that, she was left with only your severed arm.
- The classmate that set you up never breathed another breath again. And after their death, neither did Kirumi. It was the last task she will ever need to complete, so she no longer had any purpose.
Maki Harukawa
- Maki had always emitted a sinister tenor, but as the Ultimate Caregiver, it was difficult to believe. Children were fond of her for reasons unknown, but whatever their reasons were, they enjoyed her presence. And children wouldn’t favor anyone they deemed scary, would they? Perhaps it was because they were children and you were older, but Maki did not shy away from revealing her aggressive and malicious side to you.
- Suicide was not an option. She would not allow that. Becoming a victim was also impossible, as she has attacked anyone that was daring enough to approach you. So your only option was to murder, and, acting as if it was a favor, you did away with the classmate that wanted to live the least. Maki helped, believing that it was within her power to escape with you if you were successful, despite Monokuma’s rule. You knew better, however, and were found out easily. You put up little resistance, and were prepared to escape alone.
- She was wrathful. Screaming, she drew her knife to everyone’s necks, murdering the remaining students in cold blood and in rapid succession. They found you out, and ruined everything.
- Despite her deed, you were to be executed still, and she would be the only graduating student. It was then that she came to the calm realization that your death and your separation from her was inevitable. But she didn’t want to be alone. Maki approached you slowly before thrusting the knife through your heart. Your death was instantaneous. There was so much blood. But before she could end her own life, Monokuma did her the honor, as she deprived him of a fun execution.
Rantarou Amami
- Amami’s affections have become increasingly disturbing. It wasn’t uncommon for him to caress your arms and face suddenly, or to run his fingers through your hair uninvited. He would even go so far and to bury his face in your hair, inhaling and taking in your scent, which seemed to fuel his desires. It was when he tied you down to a chair to decorate your nails that you finally decided you could no longer bear the weight of his existence suffocating yours.
- You decided that you ought to kill him. Because of his obsessive nature, his cleverness has dissipated, and was easily convinced to lower his guard and become cornered. But once you raised your knife, you felt someone else’s presence behind you, and you swung instinctively. You drew blood, and there was a thud.
- Despite your advances, Amami still loved you, believing that you meant to kill him and be found out so you could be with him beyond this material life. You angrily tell him otherwise, but he laughs and brushes it off. It wasn’t surprising that you were found out rather easily. No one wanted to see you go. It was an accident, despite your initial intentions.
- You were dragged off to your execution just as quickly as your murdered your now fallen classmate. You were riding on a conveyer belt amongst scrap metal and car parts, and behind you was a rotating circular blade. You take deep breaths as you prepare yourself for your inevitable fate. You close your eyes. Inhale, exhale. Inhale, exhale. However, you hear someone call your name from above.
- It was Amami, and he leaps down to join you on the conveyer belt. He lifts up your hands and holds them in his, putting them to his lips and kissing them.
- “Looks like you were wrong to have believed me. In the end, I have always been quite the suspicious guy.”
Tenko Chabashira
- Tenko was quite fond of you, and would always be lingering around nearby or behind corners. She was absolutely smitten, but her excessive nervousness and efforts to try and please you became quite bothersome. She brought you gifts, massaged your feet, and fall into a daze at even the smallest compliment you gave her. To her, you were perfect, and incapable of being malevolent. Little did she realize that you were determined to escape the school and the killing game by participating yourself.
- You had cut someone up with no hesitation, and had devised a seemingly flawless plan, all the while putting forward a cheerful facade for Tenko. You anticipated, and were even excited, to witness the expression Tenko would display once you were successful in getting away with your deed. But you weren’t.
- At the very least, you were able to indulge in her despair. Before you were taken away, you falsely told Tenko how much you loved her, holding her close to you before resting your hands on her shoulders and looking her firmly in the eyes. You tell her that if she truly loved you, she would join you in the afterlife.
- Screams of protest filled the room. You were punched and kicked by some of your male classmates for being so twisted. But it was fine, because you knew she would do it. She would throw away everything blindly for you. And she did.

I don't "think" they see her as a Hitler-esque character. Those were their exact words. What show are you watching/books reading if you don't see how Dany's problematic? As far as Dany's governorship, this is a person who destabilized an entire region, caused the deaths of thousands and thousands of people and who, I'm pretty sure, hasn't actually learned how not to repeat her mistakes. She gets burned by Mirri, then turns around and confides in the Green Grace, another seemingly harmless
Okay let’s get this out of the way, do you actually want to discuss this or are you just itching for a fight? Because you’re basically screaming at me knowing full well how I feel and I’m really not in the mood to argue just to argue. If you want to discuss the story, that’s fine, but I don’t like someone provoking me just for the hell of it.
I know what they said, but that doesn’t mean they LITERALLY see her as the Hitler of Westeros. Is she charismatic and a little terrifying? Sure, and that might have brought about the tasteless but inaccurate comparison. But if you’re going to take their words at face value, you also have to assume that Hitler makes them feel...aroused? Which seems unlikely. Dany doesn’t promote a master race; in fact, even when she’s making mistakes, she’s still doing it to try to achieve some kind of social equality. She doesn’t kill indiscriminately, she doesn’t lose sight of the value of a human life. Even when she takes the masters’ children as prisoners, she’s fond of them and never wants to have to hurt them. If ANYONE in Westeros is a Hitler-esque character, it’s someone like Joffrey. You can’t seriously tell me you see genuine similarities between Joffrey and Dany. You’re criticizing her for helping/confiding in people who end up not being trustworthy like Mirri and the Green Grace, but at the end of the day her goals in that regard are pretty simple: she wants to help people like Mirri, and she seeks counsel from others and tries to come up with a compromise. Does that backfire? Yeah, of course, because this is Game of Thrones and having good intentions doesn’t automatically translate to good leadership. She had no training, she’s learning as she goes along, but she’s also surrounded by grown ass men (when she’s essentially a child) who can’t agree on the “right” way to handle things. If we’re talking about political acumen, there’s no doubt that the Dany who captures Astapor and the one who flies out of Meereen are different people. She knows she fucked up. She knows that her decisions have consequences. She realizes that she has to compromise and that there’s no way she can possibly fix everything for everyone. I assume you’ve read the books, so you’re read her inner thoughts, and you must see that?
Tumblr media
She...crucifies slave owners, iirc. And she pays for it down the road. But there are some acts which are indefensible and while being merciful might have been the SMARTER choice, she drew a hard line at owning other human beings and that’s not unreasonable given that she herself was owned by Drogo (and her brother too, if we’re being honest). Which brings me to another inconsistency: how can you say she LET Drogo do anything? She could exert VERY little influence over him at best. She certainly had no power to change his ways or the ways of the Dothraki in general. You can’t have it both time and say she disrupted an entire civilization, but then criticize her for not interfering in the ways of the Dothraki. She was appalled by it, but there was nothing she could do to stop it. When she DID have the power to save some women...one killed her husband and a her child. And yet she still thought that slaving and raping was wrong and that those crimes should be punished. She’s never wavered on that fact.
Tumblr media
Once again, this is hypocritical considering that you just criticized her for destabilizing Meereen, and when she does finally compromise when that’s what the people are begging her for (allowing them to sell themselves, or reopening the fighting pits despite hating every second of it), she’s criticized for that also. I also believe the Green Grace is the Harpy, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet and the idea that she should never trust anyone with anything or take anyone’s counsel because they might betray her is ridiculous.
And she IS the rightful heir of Westeros, at the moment anyway. I’m sure the show will somehow manage to make sure that Rhaegar and Lyanna’s marriage was legitimized, but that’s not necessarily how it’s going to go down in the books and right now, given what we know about her, Jon, and f!Aegon (bruh we all know he’s not actually her nephew come on now), she does have a legitimate claim to the throne. Jon has lived his life in a frozen wasteland but still might end up ruling the Seven Kingdoms, very few people actually understand the entirety of the realm the need to rule but that’s what you take counsel for. And Dany does do that. She’s open to learning. She has some very stubborn Targaryen traits, but she is clearly not like her father or brother and her having trouble coming to terms with the fact that her father was a crazy motherfucker isn’t really a legitimate basis for criticism. I can’t believe you’d even bring that up lol like, she’s a girl who was taught to idolize her father, you’re surprised it’s taking her awhile to come around to the fact that he was nothing like what she was told?
Tumblr media
People were already dying in those nations! Babies were being slaughtered! Yeah, she fucked up and she knows she fucked up but it’s not like she disrupted a paradise, someone needed to do something and she certainly didn’t do ENOUGH but one hell already existed before it was replaced by another hell. The brilliance of what GRRM did with Dany’s character is that she’s not a stock fantasy heroine, she makes mistakes and people pay for them! That is the case for every single other person in contention for the Iron Throne! Unfortunately, when leaders and politicians mess up, people die, that’s the burden of ruling and one she struggles with CONSTANTLY in her chapters.
Tumblr media
Yes, because the story isn’t over and she’s currently the best candidate for the job. Wtf? And you can’t blame Dany for her enemies seeking vengeance against her by killing innocents. She’s not destroying Meereen, other people are because she took power. Because they want to return to a society where they own other human beings and use, abuse, and murder them indiscriminately. People have died during her rise to power but she’s pretty much the only one who has had to shoulder that level of responsibility at this point in the story. When Robb Stark declared war on the Lannisters, thousands of people died, not just those who knowingly fought for him but innocents as well. It’s inevitable in a war, that doesn’t mean the pursuit of the cause is pointless.
Tumblr media
Sorry but this is just silly. Her ENTIRE interior life is her second-guessing herself and weighing her options and the consequences they bring. I don’t disagree that she’s going to go through a major change after being captured by the khalasar, and stop trying to save everyone she comes across. But it’s ridiculous to call her willfully ignorant and to assume that she’s going to become a mindless destroyer. She’s not bloodthirsty, she’s never exhibited those qualities. She’s LEARNED that she can’t fix everything and that she needs to move on and fulfill her destiny, and she’s clearly going to become a very important person in the fight against the White Walkers (and by this time, I think we all know she’s the younger and more beautiful queen destined to end Cersei’s reign).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We actually see her through Barristan Selmy’s POV, through Quentyn’s POV, and through Varys/Illyrio’s and Jorah’s POVs via their conversations with Tyrion. So that’s just not true. There’s a fuck ton that makes her sympathetic, not the least of which because she doesn’t see herself as the greatest ruler ever the way Cersei does. Entitled, perhaps, but constantly unsure of herself and worried for her people. Read any of her chapters and that’s pretty obvious.
I feel like we read a different book series. I mean, shit.
