Notes/Warnings: Veeeery fluffy and lovey dovey lmaoo. Alas, Daniel is but a simp for the person he loves! There is a use of the word "beautiful" bc I personally feel that it's a gender neutral term, so pls be warned if that makes u uncomfy! The jazz club also is described as smelling like smoke and whisky so pls don't read this if that makes u uncomfy too!! Also the general time period this takes place in is a little ambiguous yet again lmaoo (Daniel has a smartphone so *shrugs* idrk m8 lmao)

Daniel’s day starts off like monotonous clockwork; he gets up, gets ready for his day, has something quick to eat, then leaves his apartment and heads to Stargate Command for another long, onerous day. He starts off by studying the Goa’uld language a bit to warm up his brain, then gets to work on the translation he had stopped working on from the previous day because his need for sleep got the best of him. Frankly, he had only one thing consistently on his mind the day before as well as today, and that thought was you. It vexes him to no end every time he has to get up for work and leave your serene, sleeping form behind in the soft, cozy blankets warmed by your bodies overnight. Over time, he found that he had to give himself a couple extra minutes to get ready for his day just so he can watch you at your most peaceful state for a moment longer before parting with a feather-light kiss to your forehead and starting off his day. As he goes about his duties on the base, his mind seems to wander to you every other thought, which brings him comfort and motivates him to work harder just so he can see you even sooner.

During lunch in the mess hall, he sits and talks with Sam, who he missed earlier that day because she stayed on the base rather than going home and woke up early for her first meal of the day. On days when SG-1 are working on non-off world projects, Daniel tends to go home at night just so he can spend a sliver of his day with you. Sam naturally asks about you, as the two of you are close friends but rarely ever see each other because of your conflicting work schedules as you aren’t a part of Stargate Command. Daniel tells her all about how you’re moving up in your company and that he’s so proud of you, then he tells Sam about the plans the two of you have to go out for dinner later that evening after both of you clock out of work and head home. Sam smiles as he tells her this, her heart warmed by the obvious affection you both have for each other. Sam and Daniel continue talking until they're finished eating then head to their respective labs and continue working on their projects.

Daniel is nose deep in his notes as he works on his translation when he feels his cell phone vibrate in his blue BDU pocket. Not looking up from what he’s doing, he reaches into his pocket and brings his phone into his field of vision. His eyes meet the glowing screen and he sees your name on the screen overlaying the photo of you he set as his lockscreen. A smile immediately spreads across his face and he opens your text without a second thought. You had sent him a photo of a bundle of blue dahlias from outside of a flower shop with the words, “Saw this on my way back from lunch and it reminded me of you :)” written below, and he can’t help the grin bursting through his previously furrowed and focused visage. He types a quick response, indubitably concluding the text with the words “I love you” before locking his phone and sliding it back into his pocket. A new burst of energy runs through his veins as he gets more and more excited about seeing you again this evening, even if the two of you share an apartment and do see each other within that space. (It’s just not enough for him!) The rest of the day goes by in a blur and he all but runs out the door to go home and get ready for your dinner date before you get home from work.

Daniel has changed into a slightly dressy but comfortable outfit: a pale blue button up underneath a navy blue sweater, espresso brown slacks held up by a belt, and black shoes. He’s sitting on the arm of one of the chairs in the living room, reading one of the many books from the shelf to pass the time as he waits for you to get home. A couple of minutes pass before he hears the door open and his downward gaze immediately rises and finds you, closing the book and setting it on the coffee table. A small smile graces his face as you step into the apartment, your work bag in one hand and your keys in the other. You look a little bit tired but you smile when you see him, dropping your keys in the dish on the entryway console and closing the door as he stands up.

“Hi,” he says, his excitement and affection audible in his tone.

“Hi,” you say back, smiling as you step closer to him and wrap your arms around him. He immediately returns the gesture and lets out a sigh he didn’t know he was holding back, breathing in your familiar scent. The two of you stay in that position for a moment before you pull back.

“I just need a second to get changed, then we can go,” you smile softly, your arms still wrapped around him.

“Take your time,” he says with a nod, releasing you to let you go get changed out of your work clothes. Once you disappear behind the bedroom door, he sits back on the arm of the chair, feeling refreshed and warmed by your presence. After a few moments, you emerge from your shared bedroom wearing one of your favorite outfits, and he grins at the sight.

“You look beautiful,” he says as he stands, making you smile.

“So do you,” you say to him as you approach him. He leans in and gives you a quick peck on the cheek before the two of you head out of the apartment for your date.

The two of you are walking back from the restaurant you had your dinner at, laughing about something that happened to you at work that day when you pass a dark café lit up by blue neon lights, accompanied with a smoky, sultry scent.

“I’ve never noticed this place before,” you wonder out loud, slowing your pace as you take in the enchanting place before you. Daniel also slows his pace, coming to a stop as his eyes scan for signs indicating what the place is. You can hear jazz music coming from inside, a muffled cover of Ella Fitzgerald buzzing through the walls.

“Should we go in?” you say to Daniel, a slightly impish grin spreading across your lips. He looks at you for a moment and quickly finds himself grinning as well.

“Sure,” he says, unable to hold back his smile. He steps forward and holds the door open for you and you thank him as you enter the dimly lit club. The scent of the jazz club is even stronger from inside, smelling of smoke, whisky, and rose petals. There are a few groups or pairings of patrons sitting at the tables and a few couples dancing together in front of the small and slightly raised stage, the band now playing the song “It don’t mean a thing.” You look around in awe, amazed that you never noticed this place before. Daniel looks around as well, but he doesn’t miss the mischievous glint in your eyes when you turn to him and part your lips to speak.

“Dr. Jackson, may I have this dance?” you ask, holding your hand out to him with a mischievous grin on your face.

“Oh, I don’t know, I’m not really a dancer,” he says, partially honest and partially playing along with his tone of voice. You give him a teasing but encouraging look, and he sighs as he takes your hand and lets you lead him to the dance floor. The two of you find a spot between the two elderly couples dancing together and Daniel can’t help but laugh, covering his eyes as reality sets in for him. As if the Gods felt his embarrassment, the fast-paced Ella Fitzgerald song comes to a stop and a slower song begins. “Time After Time” slowly begins to fill the room as you and Daniel instinctively gravitate towards each other. Your hands find a home on each other’s bodies and before Daniel can remember his initial reservations, both of you are gently swaying to the music in each other’s arms.

In that moment, everything seems to fall away; all of the people in the jazz club seem to fall into the darkness as the metaphorical spotlight shines solely on you and Daniel. Your enamored feelings for each other are visible in every aspect of your physical selves; the way your bodies are close and warm, how your fingers so naturally intertwine as if your hands were made solely to mold into the palm and gaps of the other, the familiar feeling of warmth radiating from your chests despite the unfamiliar environment.

Daniel’s gaze is soft as he looks into your eyes, his eyes a color somewhere between azure and beryl blue, looking somewhat glassy with a reflection of the warm yellow light bulb from the metal lamp behind you. The blue neon sign lights up his features, highlighting the peaks and depths of his face with shadows and dark glows. His eyes scan your face as if he is taking in every detail of your features the same way you do to him, like he’s gently, meticulously carving your beauty into his brain to reference when he is without you. There are so many emotions visible on both of your faces; anyone could see how deep and intertwined your two souls have become.

Wordlessly, he brings his face closer to yours and you meet his lips without a second thought. His soft lips press a long, tender kiss to yours, his long eyelashes brushing against your cheekbone. You return the kiss with a soft warmth in your heart, the feeling so familiar and so natural yet one you never get bored of. Your lips stay pressed together for a moment longer before you simultaneously pull away, keeping your eyes closed as you press your forehead to his. His soft breath tickles your face as you slowly open your eyes, seeing his eyes bat open at the same time. Only when the song comes to an end do you realize a couple of minutes have passed, blinking as you come out of your daze.

Daniel looks around as he shakes himself back to reality, but it doesn’t take long for his eyes to land on you once more.

“Do you want to head home?” you ask him, your voice barely above a whisper. He looks at you for a moment, continuing to study your features, before replying.

“Sure.”

The two of you head out of the club, smiling at and saying goodbye to the people working on your way out. Daniel holds the door open for you once more and you thank him, setting your hand on his arm as he follows you out.

“Wow, look at the moon,” you gasp, looking up at the dark sky above you. Daniel immediately follows your gaze and he sees the moon is extremely bright despite the stars being practically invisible due to the light pollution nearby.

“She’s always watching, isn’t she?” he says with a small smile as he looks at you. His smile widens when you grin at him then take his hand in yours.

“I love the moon, she’s so beautiful,” you say with a sigh, staring up at the bright celestial body. You get so caught up in the glow of the moon for a moment before you realize Daniel is staring at you with a mischievous grin on his face. You quickly realize what he is about to say and you try to prevent him from saying it.

“No, don’t you dare- Daniel, don’t-” you warn him, trying to push at him but he catches your hands every time.

“What? Can’t I just admire your beauty since you’re admiring the moon?” he teases you, not letting go of your hands. You let out a loud groan and he laughs, his body slowly gravitating towards yours.

“You’re such a dork,” you grumble, trying but failing to look annoyed.

“I’m your dork,” he teases you once more, wrapping his arms tightly around your resisting form. “Hey.” You roll your eyes until he squeezes you tighter and you protest even more. He holds you still until you finally look at him and without a shadow of a doubt in his voice, his eyes shining like you just plucked every star from the sky solely for him, he says, “I love you.” You playfully glare at him before you say it back.

“What was that? I didn’t hear you,” he says, turning his ear towards you slightly. You groan once more and he grins.

“I love you, too,” you concede, poking his arm with your index finger. A satisfied smile on his face, he releases you and you step away. He watches you for a moment and his heart skips a beat when you turn and look back at him.

“Lover boy,” you tease him, sticking your tongue out at him. His jaw drops and it’s not long before he’s chasing after you, your laughter echoing through the nighttime streets as the moon looks down at the two of you with an everlasting, ethereal beam.

Waking up to the sound of the rain hitting off your window you couldn’t help but groan into the pillow beneath your head, pulling your duvet over your head and burying your head into the warm, cosiness of your bed. You turned hoping that moving your head to not face the window. That’s when you realised that there was an empty space next to you, some cool space that disturbed your warm haven. You lay in the bed a little longer, waiting for the space to be refilled. After what felt like an hour you huffed lightly and left the warm refuge of the bed to find the previous occupier of the space next to you. You wandered into the kitchen initially to get a glass of water, then made your way towards the sitting room. This was where the abandoner had disappeared to. You smiled lightly and grabbed the blanket that lay on the edge of the couch and spread it over you both lightly before getting settled into the side of your partner.

He jumped slightly at the weight of the blanket, as if he had fallen asleep or been to absorbed in whatever he was thinking about to notice you entering the room and getting the blanket. He smiled at you as you began to cuddle into the side of him, he moved his arm to wrap around you and placed a soft kiss onto the side of your head while wishing you a good morning. You smiled back and buried yourself deeper into his side. You forgot how breath-taking his smile could be in the mornings. How adorable he looked when he was concentrating on translating something or looking up the history of an object or artifact, the way his brow would furrow, the determined look he would get in his eyes. And who could forget the wonderment and triumph on his features when he finally realised what he was reading or the significance of a find in from whichever civilisation or culture he was researching. Each look made you fall for him a little more each time it crossed his delicate features. You sighed contently as you nestled into him, looking over the book he had in his hand, you couldn’t read it, but you liked to pretend you could to yourself, make up stories or what you thought the book was about, tried to sound out the words which were using a variation of the Romanised alphabet or the symbols that looked vaguely familiar form high school and college history classes. He pulled you in closer, placing yet another kiss on your head, his eyes never leaving the page he was on.

You closed your eyes, content. You were still in shock that you had managed to meet someone like him, someone who was your soulmate. Especially in a place as heavily populated as America. The Egyptian hieroglyphic on your forearm had initially made you think that your soulmate was Egyptian, the fact that it would fade and embolden every few weeks made you wonder if your soulmate was constantly at death’s door with a chronic illness. He had an angels wing on the same place which would fade and embolden as he went through the stargate. The angels wing symbolising the fact that your parents had given you an angel’s name in the hopes it would be neutral enough that it wouldn’t matter what gender you would choose to be when you were older. Your parents were a bit absent as you grew up, both having jobs which meant they were constantly on the go they never really pushed gender norms on you. They basically let you be whatever was comfortable and enjoyed the utter confusion on strangers faces when they could see them trying to figure out if you were male or female.

You hadn’t realised you had fallen asleep until you shuffled and realised you were lying on the couch and you could hear Daniel shuffling about in the kitchen. You got off the couch and walked towards him, yawning and rubbing your eyes in the process. He smiled at you as you approached him, and you gave him a sleepy smile back, he poured you a glass of water and asked how your sleep had been, he seemed distracted as he asked the question, so you gave a minimal answer, trying to see what he was working on as you sipped your water.

Request Guidelines

I’ve had a lot of people messaging me asking what my guidelines are for requesting because the one I have up does not have enough information on it so I’ve updated my guidelines:

*When you request something, please Be Clear with what you want. I need more than steve rogers smut or fluff? This gives me nothing to write with.

*I reserve the right to reject a request. I try my hardest to write each request I receive but it does get the best of me and I never get around to do it. If you do send in a request and I do not either: 1) know who the person is 2) you hound me repeatedly for the story, on or off anon 3) I’m uncomfortable writing it, I have the right not to write it

*If you request anything NSFW, you MUST be older than 18. I can not stress how important this is.

*I will do oneshots, drabbles, imagines, mood boards, and a short series (if needed)

If you do not follow the guidelines, I WILL delete the request.

Do NOT hound me. I understand asking about, or seeing if I’ve gotten the request because of how stupid Dumblr is, but hounding me to write it and publish it is not going to make me write it any faster or post it and there is a chance that I’ll just delete the ask.

Frequently asked Questions: Do you write person of colors stories? I have never written for a person of color for the simple fact that I wouldn’t know how to write them. There’s differences between a white person and a person of color so I wouldn’t know how to portray them without offending anyone.

How do you feel writing for the LGBTQ community? I am comfortable writing for the LGBTQ community, I just tend not to unless someone requests me to. I do not want to offend anyone so most of my stories the reader is a girl, and a few stories I will do a gender neutral reader

Do you write male x male, female x female? I have written a girl x girl story where the requester asked for Supergirl to be switched as her male counterpart but I wrote it as a girl x girl story. I also have a Black Widow story that hints at a little something in the past which is a girl x girl. If someone requests a specific pairing like male x male or girl x girl, I would have no problem writing it.

How do you write Y/N? Y/N is generally based off of me. I try not to write any descriptive pieces about hair/face/body because not everyone has what I write Y/N to be. If I do describe the appearance it is most always based off of me.

How do you feel about people talking to you either on your post or through your messages/anon? I have no problem with you talking to me. You can talk to me through private messaging if you don’t want it to be public, or you can talk to me through asks. If you send in an anon, I only ask that you are nice and polite. I’ve had to cut off anon and delete a lot of messages I’ve received because of the little assholes who think they’re entitled to be a dick because I haven’t done something that they like.

How do you tag? On my side blog @capstags where my tagging system is, I have lists for each thing I write. Anything related to that topic, I tag you in it. I do ask that you reblog or comment to be tagged just because it shows that you are active

Will you put your beliefs/religion in a story you write? No. My religion and beliefs may not be the same as another persons and I do not want to offend anyone.

Do you have a permanent taglist? Originally, no. But recently I made a new taglist that is for permanent tags. That list, well post, is at @capstags and it should be the first post on there.

Will you write a story for an OC? If I have to. I tend to stay away from having to write OC’s just because of the variety of readers.

Do you write ships? No. I don’t have any interest in writing any type of ships. If I do write a story that involves a character x character story and it just so happens to a be ship, it’s coincidental. I don’t really write stories where the main pairing is a ship.

How long does it take you to upload another story chapter or a new story? I don’t actually have a time frame for when I post an update to a series or a new story. I usually will post a new story when I feel as though my followers feel as though I don’t write enough or posted enough, or when notes have gone down. For my series, it’s mainly whenever I have the next part written, or whenever I actually remember to post it.

You have a lot of discontinued stories on your master list, why? Well, for starters when I started those stories, I was really excited to share them. Then after I posted one or two parts to the story, the enthusiasm I had for it dwindled because of the response I got for it so I just stopped writing it. I have added more discontinued stories to my master list because I know for a fact that I won’t update them and it’s unfair to my readers/followers to have it open where it leaves it open for a possible update when I know I’m not going to.

Do you do challenges or anything along those lines? I have in the past done a challenge and I had only two people to actually participate. I do ships once in a blue moon but the last ships I did turned out to be a total disaster thanks to some very rude anons. I also participate in other peoples challenges. If it is a challenge that last a year or a few months (like my bingo cards) then I’ll open up a new tallest for that specific challenge, though sometimes I forget to tag that list in those challenges because I have a lot of tag lists.

Will you ever update your old unfinished series? Honestly, probably not. I started those series because I wanted to write it and then after a while, notes started to go down and I lost motivation to actually continue to write it.

Things You Can Request For:

Imagines: Imagine a scenario with whatever character(s) and either yourself or just that(those) character(s). Gif with a small paragraph.

One-Shots: Writing about a relationship between characters, characters and yourself, etc.

Basically, give me as much information as possible.

Give a lot of information about yourself. Name and sexual orientation are optional. Really the only needed information is your personality, appearance, likes, dislikes, and gender if you’re comfortable.

Hold Me Tight

Pairing: Daniel Jackson x gn!Reader (Daniel keeps his longer hair because I said so lmfao. Also this is an established relationship if that wasn't obvious lool)

Word count: 811 (hello, angel number hehe)

Warnings: overworked Daniel and y/n, not much otherwise but please let me know if you feel there’s any other warnings I should add!

This week has become possibly one of the worst weeks you have ever experienced while working at the SGC. As a translator working on Daniel’s team by his side, you know he’s had just as awful of a week as you have, too. First, SG-1 came back from a mission completely exhausted but still being demanded to find a solution to the issue they found off-world, so it required that you and your team work non-stop for several days in a row up until this point. Then, one of the artifacts Daniel had brought back that was giving context to the translations the two of you were working on was accidentally knocked off of the table and shattered into millions of tiny shards and pieces. Then you found out that all of the work you had put into translating some of the text was moot because you had misunderstood an earlier part you had worked on so you had to scrap all of your progress and start over again. You have been working on the translations from square one for nearly 12 hours now and you felt like your brain was going to viciously drain out of your ears any second now.

Frustrated and exhausted, you convinced Daniel that you two should just go home, rest up, and try again tomorrow.

It’s been a couple of hours since you two got home and settled in, and you haven’t seen Daniel since the two of you were doing the dishes together after dinner.

Quickly realizing this, you look around from your spot on the couch where you had been zoned out for a decent amount of time and you begin to really feel just how much you could use a hug right about now. Your exhaustion and need for cuddles were catching up to you after this really awful week, so you get up and decide to go look for him in the one place you know you’ll find him: in his study.

Sure enough he’s there, sitting in his desk chair, hunched over spread out sheets of his translation work and a few open books on his desk. You suddenly feel a little ashamed that you want his attention when you know just how important this project is for the both of you, much less the SGC. You watch from the door frame as he fidgets with his pen in his hand, his head turning back and forth as he cross-references his notes.

He abruptly raises his arm up and he sneezes into his elbow, shaking his head slightly as if his skull had just been rattled. An amused grin spreads across your visibly fatigued face as you say “Bless you,” making him turn around to face you as he sniffles.

“I didn’t even know you were there,” he mumbles with a small smile, rubbing one of his eyes underneath his glasses. You smile as you approach him, setting your hand on his shoulder.

“How’s it going?” you ask, your fingertips curling over his shoulder.

“It’s, uh, it’s going,” he says with a nod, shoving his glasses above his brows and rubbing his eyes with both hands. You nod, and your face heats up when you remember why you approached him.

Trying to make your own needs less obvious, you quietly ask him, “Do you need a hug?” He breathes out a laugh and looks up at you with warm but tired eyes.

“How did you know?”

“Intuition,” you shrug with a smile. You step closer and hold your arms open for him. He wheels his chair a little closer and wraps his arms around your waist, sighing as he melts into your embrace. He leans his head on your stomach and closes his eyes, and you can practically feel his exhaustion from the past few days catching up to him the longer he holds you.

“Baby, I think it’s about time that we go to bed,” you say, your arms resting on his shoulders and your fingers interlaced with his soft hair. Scratching his scalp with your fingernails, he lets out a weary sigh as he nods. He holds you a bit more, your fingers combing through his long brown hair, before releasing you and standing up. He gives his desk a once over before reaching over the mess of papers on the surface and turning off the lamp. He turns back to you and takes your hand as you lead him to your bedroom.

After you two change and finish getting ready for bed, you both snuggle up under the covers, laying facing each other with his arm draped over your waist.

“Goodnight, love,” he whispers, gently kissing your forehead as an exhausted sigh escapes his lips.

“Goodnight,” you mumble with a tired smile unseen in the dark, snuggling your head closer to him as your heavy eyes droop shut.
