Hoarding Fall

His collection started in the zoo:

enrichment for his enclosure

which the dragon soon found he outgrew.

Even back then he protected his hoard from exposure:

never bit the many pumpkins, never blew the leaves around—

but he sorted them by colour and sewed them firmly to the dirt.

Those beautiful shades always kept him spellbound;

as he sat there and stared not a sound could be heard.

When he moved to his cave, he brought the whole hoard

and he added a rainbow of flowers on top.

But after long weeks perished gourd after gourd;

chrysanthemums withered and leaves became slop.

The cold of bitter winter settled into his own mood.

Why did each lovely pigment have to end up grey and faint?

The humans took care to avoid his neighbourhood,

but back in their own towns they hung baubles and splashed paint.

They dyed each little fence that lay within the dragon’s view

and gifted him a choker, set with quartz and rhodonite.

Now winter finds the dragon with his mind no longer blue:

he proudly sits amidst a hoard of brightly coloured light.

I still have no clue what I'm doing. Anywhere's, here's some character info.

Name: Bon Bon (Bonnie) Joy Churchill-Ralston Age: 15 (I'm using a character question sheet) 1) What would completely break Bon Bon? {-} Probably, being alone. Now, it's very basic but, she would hate being completely alone. She has always been by Copper's side since he found her when they were five. When she hasn't been by his side, she has been with somebody else. 2) What is the best thing in Bon Bon's life? {-} Copper. That's a no-brainer. Bon Bon would have never made it if it weren't for him, and she is extremely grateful to have him. 3) What is the worst thing in Bon Bon's life? {-} At age five, Bon Bon's dad and older brother were killed in a cave-in. She was left, stranded in a cave with no way out. That's when Copper found her, re-named her from Bonnie to Bon Bon, and she was absolutely attached. 4) What seemingly insignificant memory is stuck with Bon Bon? {-} Her first bonbon. Copper's favorite dessert to make. Bon Bon didn't have many sweets that she grew up eating. Her family lived in south-east Alaska. She rarely got to eat sweet things due to her family's low income and how remote her family was. Bon Bon falls in love with the confection in an instant. Copper was used to eating the treat, so he didn't think much of it. Bon Bon, on the other hand, would never forget it. 5) Does Bon Bon work to support her hobbies or use her hobbies as a way to fill up time that she isn't working? {-} Bon Bon is fifteen, so she hasn't worked yet. Bon Bon loves making bombs in her spare time. Iron, Copper's older brother, taught Bon Bon multiple things -which acted as her schooling. 6) What is Bon Bon reluctant to tell people? {-} With the Miners (A species of elves that aren't really elves anymore. They live in a cave system in Alaska), she doesn't like to tell them of her origin. With others, she doesn't tell them that she is genetically human. 7) How many friends does Bon Bon have? {-} Bon Bon is the type of person to call everyone her friend. Some of her bigger ones are: Sayma (A kitiry), Clementine (A Songbird and Mithling hybrid), Ryley, Reo, Daiza, Tallulah (All elves) Amalya (An Akaerion), Michi (96% Moreewn), Xel (98% Moreewn), Wystie (98% Moreewn), and more but whatever. 8) Who would Bon Bon like to be friends with? {-} Again, Bon Bon would consider herself friends with everyone... 9) What would Bon Bon make a scene about in public? {-} If someone dislikes bonbons. In one part of a roleplay?/part of an eventual book, Bon Bon throws a whole fit about Ryley not liking bonbons. It goes on for a while too. Bon Bon even ignores Ryley for the rest of the meal!
