A crossover in an alternative Universe between Haikyuu!!, Kuroko no Basket and Free! could look like this:
A friendship sports tournament takes place in Tokyo
the teams are forced to play different disciplines from their own
Each team teaches the others their sport in a training camp before the tournament
Hinata befriends everyone
Kagami and Rin become friends
Nagisa and Hinata plan to get their friends together (SugaxDaichi, KagamixKuroko, RinxMakoto)
Makoto gets confronted with the fear of drowning again
Rin confesses his feelings for Makoto
Kagami is protective of Kuroko
Karasuno teaches the GoM the lesson of friendship with the help of Kuroko
Kagami and Hinata have a competition who can jump the highest -> Kageyama is jealous because usually it’s him and Hinata competing in everything
Sosuke and Haru are still rivals
Makoto and Sugawara friendship
Nishinoya and Tanaka and their shenanigans make everyone laugh

BLCD Review: Escape Journey 2
Tumblr media
Title: Escape Journey 2 (エスケープジャーニー 2)
Author/Artist: Ogeretsu Tanaka
Release Date: 2021/03/12
Cast:
Maeno Tomoaki x Nakazawa Masatomo
Furukawa Makoto
Yamashita Seiichirou
Hamano Daiki
Nobuyori Sagara
Synopsis: Escape Journey 2: I Did Not Deserve This Pain
Review Proper
Hello, I am back to reviewing BLCDs. I might be taking a little hiatus from scanning for a while ‘cause of the stress recent national elections events gave me, so might as well finish this log that’s gone on for too long lmao.
Anyway, onto the review.
You know, I knew what I signed up for. I was caught up with this when volume two was airing in the mag and stopped because it was too painful to continue. That was way back when I was a freshman in uni, I think, but I still haven’t finished volume two of the manga up until this day, so WHY DID I EVER THINK THAT LISTENING TO VOLUME TWO OF THE AUDIO ADAPTATION, KNOWING THAT IT WAS GONNA BE A CLIFFHANGER, WAS A GOOD IDEA?!
Tumblr media
I don’t really have much to say about the plot since this isn’t the last installment, so we’ll dive straight into the technicalities.
Casting was perfect ‘cause hello??? Maeno x Nakazawa Masatomo??? AND WHO THE FUCK CASTED MAKONYAN TO BE THE THIRD WHEEL??? IT’S SO PERFECT, BUT WHY DO THIS??? I actually high-key low-key wanted Naoto to end up Nishina ‘cause first of all he has a big fucking
Tumblr media
yea
and second of all, he’s not a rapist asshole with a rude ass family.
Tumblr media
Here I said I wasn’t gonna talk about the plot. Anyway, Makonyan definitely sounds like he owns a goddamn 500cc and has been wanting that Tomo ass since time immemorial, so it’s perfect. Also, can we talk about how Hamano Daiki and Tomo loves Ogeretsu enough to the point of being cast repeatedly in their works. Daiki has three, the fuck.
As for the accuracy to the manga, since I used the magazine releases for the read-along, I got lost so many times lmao. The organization of the scenes were so different in the BLCD! There is a chance that Ogeretsu changed the order in the tankos, but the differences are so huge that I don’t think that’s likely. There were also a lot of cuts and adlibs, so it’s definitely not beginner friendly. To those still wanting to brave it, I’d suggest reading the mag or tank (whichever you have) before listening to the BLCD then reading it with the BLCD later. But to be completely honest, I won’t recommend listening to this right now. Again, it ends up at a cliff-hanger, and if, god-forbid, the studios take another five years to produce the last installment, it would hang you dry for a long ass time. Man, I don’t even know if I’d still be alive in 2026.

Tanshin Hanabi Review
Initially it took me the first half of this series to get into but the last 3 or 4 episodes had me hooked. Getting to finally learn the full backstory for Hana and Katayama and see how it all played out. If you want a pretty short (Only 9 episodes) but thrilling romance drama to watch then I would highly recommend plus the song West did for this (Zettai Zetsumei) is an amazing song too!

The Flower Prince: Hotel Stay
Prompt- At first, he felt prideful of the praise his teammate [Sakura] was getting from the Prince. But the moment he saw the blush on her face and the arm around her waist, pride was no longer what he was feeling.

“How many beds sir?” the receptionist asked a slight blush coming to her cheeks as she stared into Kakashi's only visible eye.
“Two, could we also get a futon or two?”
“Of course,” she answered almost too quickly. “Alright, your room will be 305. I’ll be up shortly with the futons.” Grabbing two keys from the hooks behind her, she handed them over to Kakashi. Naruto’s grin widened as he saw the receptionist's face at the slight contact of his sensei’s gloved hand.
“Thank you.” he gave a quick bow before walking off in the direction of the room.
“Ne, Kakashi?”
“Yes Naruto?”
“Don’t you think she was pretty, the receptionist?”
“She wasn’t ugly.” Kakashi shrugged. “Why?”
“She was totally into you!” Naruto exclaimed looking at his sensei.
“That’s what you call being nice-”
“Naruto’s right.” Sakura piped up. “Did you not see the way she blushed or the eyes she gave you when we walked in sensei?”
“You’re both reading into it too much.” Kakashi groaned.
“For someone who strictly reads romance novels, I’m surprised you’re so blind to obvious flirting.” the kunoichi spat back.
“Sakura.” Kakashi stopped in front of the door to room 305, “Naruto. She was just being nice, it’s her job.”
“Too nice,” Sasuke added.
Giving a stern glare to his genin, he opened the door to the room and walked in. “Kakashi-sir, for what it’s worth, I agree with your team. She was flirting with you.” Daiki teased as he entered the room behind the genin. Rubbing his temples, the jounin closed the door and sighed.
“I call dibs on the bed!” Naruto flung himself onto the bed closest to the wall away from the door. He sprawled out and rolled around in the bed before Sakura dragged him off.
“Naruto! Let Daiki-san choose first.”
“No Sakura-chan, that’s alright. I’ll sleep on the futon.” Daiki insisted but was instantly shut down by Sakura who insisted. “Ah- you’re all too kind I guess I’ll-” a knock came on the door.
“Um, here are your futons sir.” the receptionist from earlier bowed.
“Thank you.” he reached out to grab them but the woman took a step back.
“Allow me to set it up for you and the kids.” before he could respond, the woman gently pushed her way past him and entered the room. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Daiki sat on a bed as they watched the scene before them- a mischievous aura around them. Kakashi gave them a stern look warning them to behave. “They sure are cute, uh- Hatake, was it?”
“His name is Hatake Kakashi!” Naruto called. “And I’m Uz- Hatake Naruto! We’re his adopted kids.” the jinchuriki smiled brightly at the woman. She gave him a sweet smile in return.
“I’m glad to hear that! Kakashi sounds like quite a good man.” she then turned to face Kakashi. “My name is Tanaka Kiyomi, it’s a pleasure to meet you Kakashi-san.”
“Likewise,” Kakashi responded as he secretly cursed under his breath. “You can give me the futons, I can do it myself. No need to worry, Kiyomi.” Once again ignored, Kiyomi placed them on the floor and started to lay them out.
“Don't be rude, help Kiyomi-chan,” Sasuke said in a mocking tone, a smirk starting to form.
“Yeah, don’t let the pretty lady do it by herself!” Daiki added. All four pre-teens stared at him expectantly.
Mortified Kakashi made eye contact with Kiyomi and nodded, “They’re right. Let me help.” he crouched down next to the flustered woman. After laying out the two futons Kakashi sighed, his embarrassment would finally be over. Extending a hand to help her up, he opened the door for her to leave, trying his best to not seem rude. Though, before she stepped out she spoke softly.
“You know…” she looked up at Kakashi, “I find it sweet that you adopted those kids. If anything it only adds to your appeal. A family man...  I’d like to meet with you sometime. L-like as a date.” her face was no longer visible to him but he could only imagine she was blushing- if she hadn’t already done enough of that. For the first time, Kakashi didn’t know how to react, it wasn’t anything new for him to get hit on or asked out (come at me, I swear this is canon), but this had never happened in front of his team, let alone on a mission. “I understand that you’re a ninja and probably don’t have time to date, but I’d appreciate it.
“I have to get back to work now Kakashi-san, I’ll await your response.” she gave him a quick peck on the cheek and quickly ran off. As soon as the door shut behind her, laughter erupted from Naruto, Sakura, and Daiki. Even Sasuke allowed himself to smile.
“See, we told you she liked you!” Naruto stated as he rolled off the bed and pointed at Kakashi.
“Naruto, you’re sleeping on the futon,” Kakashi stated firmly.
“What- why?!” Naruto rose to his feet, “I already called dibs on this bed!” he whined as he pointed to the bed where he was previously seated.
“Sasuke, you will share a bed with me. Daiki, you get a bed to yourself, and Sakura, you're also sleeping on a futon.”
Sakura heaved a heavy sigh, “Yes sensei. But can I at least move my futon? It’s too close to Naruto’s and he moves around a lot. “ Kakashi gave her a nod before heading to the bathroom.
With the sleeping arrangements made, Team 7 and Daiki got ready for bed.
Once Kakashi came out of the bathroom Sakura immediately ran in to take a warm shower to get rid of the thin layer of sweat that had laced her skin- it was a hot day. Naruto groaned as he heard the water from the shower start, he knew his teammates well, and although he loved Sakura, he couldn’t deny her flaws. She took forever in the bathroom.
Anytime they would go on a mission and they stayed at a hotel or motel, she always headed for the bathroom first. For at least thirty minutes Sakura would stay in said bathroom. Once she would exit a weird smell of a weird berry and a flower mix could be left behind, it was something Naruto just couldn’t quite describe. The closest word he could use was ‘girly’. Although not horrible, he always hated it when he had to use the bathroom or was hungry as it made him feel nauseous. And today was one of those days.
He was steadily growing impatient.
Naruto’s night routine was quite simple really, he would go to the bathroom and relieve himself, eat some last-minute ramen, and then he would lie down and be out like a light just as quickly. This routine has stayed true his entire life, even on missions where they would sleep in the forest. Which was why he and Sakura butted heads at night. Today was no exception to that ‘rule’.  Every two minutes or so Naruto would bang on the bathroom door and ask if she was almost finished, of course only met by the girl's silence or exaggerated humming.
Sasuke and Kakashi are similar in that they didn’t have a night routine, they would simply just do what they needed or wanted to do before they got tired, and would then merely sleep.
“Nauto, stop banging on the door.” Sasuke ordered the blonde jinchuriki after Naruto had spent the last minute banging on the door non-stop asking ‘Are you done yet?’
“Shut up Sasuke-teme! I really have to go, dattebayo!!” Sasuke just rolled his eyes and averted his attention back to the kunai he was sharpening in his hands.
“There’s a bathroom on the main floor, Naruto-san we passed it on the way here. You could just go and use that one.” Daiki added, smiling at the boy.
“I don’t want to go down there!” Naruto’s eyes widened, “What if there’s some creepy man in the urinal next to me?!” he exasperated, flailing his arms. “I’m not going there alone, so one of you is coming with me.” He huffed with arms crossed over his chest.
“Is that so?” Daiki sweat dropped. Looking around the room he noticed that the two other ninjas had simply tuned out Naruto’s complaints. He heaved a heavy sigh as he realized he was the only one who was willing to go with him. “I’ll go with you Naruto-san. Just make it quick.” out of habit the prince bowed to Naruto and left the room with him. Wasn’t he supposed to be escorting me, Daiki thought as they made their way to the communal bathrooms.
After twenty minutes of being in the bathroom, Sakura walked out in her usual attire. “Sasuke-kun, you can use the bathroom now if you have to.” Sasuke nodded and placed his kunai on the nightstand before entering the bathroom which now smelled of Sakura’s many bath products, but he didn’t mind.

Last week was utter hell, with a new class, a new schedule, and my sleep going out of whack. I'm still trying to readjust, and let me explain why I'm mentioning all of this. Almost nothing would have motivated me to get out of my zone and type this post except for Frieren. Frieren is one of my favorite manga series. If you've talked to me about anime/manga before, you would know this. So, ever since it was announced, it has been one of my most anticipated series. To add to that, Keiichirou Saitou was announced as the director. He's a great example of an upcoming new-gen director who has excelled in everything he's been a part of. From the beautiful and abstract EDs he created for The Executioner and Her Way of Life or Boogiepop, to the mesmerizing, dreamlike episodes he directed for Sonny Boy, and the expressive, now very popular Bocchi the Rock. He was a perfect choice as a director for a series like this, and let me tell you, he delivered fully.
Just from a quick glance, you can see how the show looks. Everything is eye-catching, making it almost hard to focus on one particular element because they all just look so good, and no, it's not just the chromatic aberration causing the lack of focus. The various departments responsible for compositing, the background, and the overall color design have done an outstanding job, creating a beautiful and cohesive piece of art. Seeing someone you might consider a less experienced director pulling off such a complete and harmonious experience is incredible. In terms of design, the whole show is aesthetically pleasing. It's not the experimental work you saw in Sonny Boy; it's going in a totally different direction, like a beautiful painting that should be framed on a wall.
It works very well when paired with, you know, how Frieren is as a story. The fantasy world they are in isn't an extremely unique one. You've seen it before; it's fairly typical in that sense. But that's not truly the point. The main focus is showing the day-to-day or year-to-year life of this immortal elf girl, Frieren, and how she views time, how she remembers her past. It's not an incredibly grand adventure, but with the small lens we have on these characters, it feels like a cherished moment, something that should be captured in a photo or painting. It's beautiful in a very simple way. It's not a series made for extremely large moments, I think Frieren has always been focused on a simpler view of life, much like a painting. The smaller details of such a straightforward approach are highlighted so well. The trees in the environment, the squirrels just moving around—there's so much life in each scene. It really all comes together for me like a piece of art.
The consistency lasts through all four episodes, and the staff distribution also seems fairly good, so I expect this to continue throughout the two cours. The pacing itself is perfect. I've really enjoyed how the story has been adapted to animation so far. I believe that nowadays, many anime series have fallen into the pitfalls of adapting things too quickly to capture the interest of newer viewers early on. However, the series composition for Frieren here is excellent.
This writeup might have been shorter than most people were expecting considering how amazing the anime adaptation is and how much I love the source material, but what can really be said about except just praising? I feel like even if you don't like the source material, the anime's execution is almost undeniably good. Additionally, as I said this past week has not been kind to me so my energy is a bit drained, at first I was planning to be more specific in my write up and make points more adhering to the specifics of each episode, but I didn't really have time for that. However, I will do my best to cover every Frieren episode weekly from now on. Make no mistake this is going to be my favorite series from this year.

warnings: angst, mentions of su!c!de, freak accidents, depression and moving on
a/n: um, anon, and all, i don't know if you can enjoy this but have fun reading! but don't let this piece confuse you, but it's okay to be confused, just ask me wink wink
listen to the song
Osamu remembered the frantic airport staffs, inaudible yellings, running around and incessant radio communication. He can just make up a little but got no clue what was happening.
Osamu remembered the cute giggles of the 5-yr-old twins, a reaction from a silly-faced Tetsurou that he wished he took a picture from to laugh at with the others later that evening.
And you. Osamu remembered your laughters, eliciting from the giggles of your twins, wrapping your arms around your 3-yr-old toddler dressed in Hawaiian shirt seated on your lap. He remembered that he grumbled at the thought that the six of you are seated on a bench just off the waiting area of the Okinawa airport and wearing the same Hawaiian outfits as a pun. He remembered he tried not to blame you for his outfit because you were very attractive in your sundress to blame at.
And thenー
And then, he achingly remembered you crying so hard, a face he and Tetsurou worked so hard to erase from you after being widowed exactly a year ago. You cried after hearing something so illogical for him to also process as he walked with the airport staff to wherever they are taking him.
He remembered bombarding the GC until someone anyone replies something, anything. Much to his dismay, the ones who replied are not with the others. He was shaking, kept guided by the staffs as they enter a frantic room. Some of them shot their eyes on Osamu and he remembered someone whimpered from the side but he didn't cared.
"Sir? Can you confirm things for us?" He remembered he heard a lady talking to him, asking. He nodded so absentmindedly as he stared at his phone, constantly dinging and ringing.
"The one flight you're waiting for is JP3749 from Tokyo to Okinawa flight time 8:45 - 10:30am, is that correct?" He nodded, eyes still in his phone. He remembered he didn't wanna look anyone in the eyes.
"It is a chartered commercial plane and you know everyone on board except for the crew, am I correct sir?"
He remembered shaking at the question. "Is my brother okay?" was the first question he administered to the staffs. It was hoarse, from pending tears and nervousness and anxiety dwelling from within.
"We have the list of the passengers listed from Haneda Airport. We need you to confirm it."
And a clump of paper was issued on his sight, across the table. He remembered he first recognized Yuu's name, followed by Koushi's and the list went on. His eyes scanned it fast.
Ushijima Wakatoshi
Hirugami Fukuro
Hoshiumi Korai
Kageyama Tobio
Meian Shugo
Kita Shinsuke
Hinata Shoyo
Suna Rintaro
Miya Atsumu
Heisuke Riseki
Akaashi Keiji
Sakusa Kiyoomi
Yamamoto Taketora
Kozume Kenma
Tsukishima Akiteru
Tsukishima Saeko
Tsukishima Daiki
Tanaka Ryuunosuke
Tanaka Kiyoko
The list was still long but his eyes were glued at his brother's name. He remembered blinking so hard, tapping so hard on the desk, shallow breaths, his shaking thighs and falling tears. He remembered wishing he was only dreaming.
"Rescue teams? Are the rescue teams going? Please take me. My brother's in there."
"The airline provided a rescue team, they're maybe en route the crash site, off the coast of Miyazaki."
He remembered asking for more rescue teams but they said they still have to assess the situation. What the fuck, he remembered cursing under his breaths, growling at them for more rescue teams. His friends, his brother needs every rescue personnel right at that moment. He remembered begging on his knees for help, on taking him there if it is what it takes, anything he can do to help save everyone, anyone, especially his brother.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He remembered convincing himself that they are well, and they had a good crash if ever any crash was good and they're just not answering their phones because it's in flight mode probably. But the anxiousness he's feeling was off the charts.
He remembered the stinging sun and the wild August waves of Miyazaki and how he wished he had a picture of you to calm him down while heading to the actual crash site in a speedboat. He left you with Tetsurou and the kids in Okinawa, to peel you away from the anxiousness as remotely as possible though he knows that won't help. He remembered and regretted, he should've stayed with you instead.
He remembered his mom waiting for him in the port area where the rescue teams are gathering and he ignored her, still can't find the right words to say, and maybe a big bit guilty for dodging something like this alone. He remembered he stared at her eyes, promising to take his brother home, to which he knew was impossible now, but he had to at least try. His brother was his everything, though sometimes they may bicker but he loved him more than anything.
Six weeks in and still got a quarter of the bodies to recover. He remembered that for every body he saw and recognized, he prayed his brother was just alive and off a beach somewhere, keeping his silly smile intact. Every body he sees and recognizes, he cries for forgiveness and wishes to the stars for anything to quell his unsurmountable despair.
Thenー
Then, he remembered seeing his shirt floating way off the crash site. He remembered jumping to the water, the yells of the rescuers far off behind him. He remembered grabbing it, paddling and crying, hugging it and whirling his head in search for the owner. He remembered diving, to which the rescuers forcefully grabbed him out of the water, scolding him but he didn't care. He was holding his brother's tattered shirt. He knew it's his, he has a matching dark one to which Atsumu gifted him three Christmas ago.
His world fell into pieces.
He can't remember the trip back to Okinawa, but he remembered wishing he was dead like what the others assumed the other quarter still missing. He remembered them assuming they must've been blown up due to the explosion of the fuselage of the plane, he can't listen to them anymore.
He remembered you, crying infront of him, begging for some good news but Osamu just hanged his head low in tears to which you cried your heart out with the others he didn't remember. He remembered the news declaring there are no survivors and how the country grieved for the young lives taken, for the still budding small families of Tadashi, Akiteru, Keiji.. how the Japanese Volleyball Association grieved for all the volleyball players, the bests among the generation. The world grieved with them, but he didn't care much of their sympathy.
He remembered you sleeping in his arms after a long day of crying, him waking up to your sobs and he kisses your head so tenderly to somehow comfort you but he knew he can't ever take the pain away, as much as it can't do to his. He remembered hugging you tight and letting you cry until you both fell asleep.
Then.. he remembered waking up at 2am, without you in his arms. He remembered searching for you in the bed and on the floor, only to find a closed but lit bathroom. He remembered dozing again to sleep. He remembered letting Tetsurou punch his guts out and yelling after Osamu saw your figure sprawled on the cold floor of the bathroom, blood covered the floor, already dried from your wrists. He remembered kneeling and begging for you to wake up, and Kenjiro dragging him away from your body to check some life outta you.
He remembered Kenjiro crying, padding your cold wrist and temples for signs of pulse, and yelled for an ambulance.
He remembered your kids crying.
He remembered that the already shattered world he has just shattered a bit more, now to dust and got blown by the August dry winds.
He remembered praying hard to the stars for one more chance.
He remembered praying hard, asking for a replay so maybe he can change what'll happen.
He remembered praying, crying hard to the dawn skies.
His reminiscing was cutted off by a very familiar giggle and he can't help but smile.
"Chamuuuu~"
He turned his head to face your daughter, Hinata, running towards his sitting self on the beach, basking in the vanilla twilight. She was followed by a bullying Tetsurou and your sons, Takeshi and Mitsuki.
Hinata quickly sat on Osamu's lap and stared at his face, and immediately frowned, wiping dried tears off his cheeks. Osamu kissed her little hands and stared at your face in her face, a spitting image of her mother.
"Let's go. Doc Daisuke is already here to pick us up."
Osamu kissed Hinata's cheek to which she giggled again, her golden-hair blending to the pastel colors of the skies. He stood on his feet and picked her up, huffing as he took one last look of the shore you should've seen. He wishes you're here, wishes you're all here to witness this spectacle.
"I bet they're somehow glad we are still alive and kicking." Tetsurou mused as he too stared at the twilight, achingly slow on turning to a light blue hue.
You might've never known when you're still alive, that Osamu loves you, but he wonders that now you're in a much better place and looking after them, do you realize it? Of how he just wanted you to be happy even if it took a big toll on him? Of how your death, his last thread holding up his happiness, snapped in just one moment unannounced?
Maybe. And maybe he can move forward. It won't be the same anymore but as long as he don't forget his lost friends, his brother, you, it'll suffice, the memory will suffice. For as long as he thinks about you, he won't feel so alone. His vast feelings for the ones he has lost is as the ocean and it will keep him alive and moving.
He felt Hinata snuggle on the crook of his neck, and God he wished it was you. "Chamuu~ cold."
"Okay, let's go."
Maybe it's not so bad to stitch back his happiness, with the memories he won't dare forget, to the new ones he'll achieve soon, and to the new people he'll meet, and to the ones that remained, that you had left him.
"I'll reopen Onigiri Miya. What will you do, Tetsurou?"
"Open a volleyball clinic for the kids. Yuki will help after she retires from figure skating in two months, everyone left will help."
"I'm thinking of Fukurodani to be their school, can we finance it?"
"Doc Takashi and Doc Akaashi is going all out for the kids, don't worry."
And before Osamu knew it, they're heading back to mainland Japan after one and a half long year, Okinawa far behind, and plans for the future waiting for him to get signed.
Reblogs and interactions are appreciated. Theories will be entertained. Cassie 2023.
