had a nice long cry over the fact that the tour I've been waiting to go to with my best swiftie friend for four years is no longer selling any tickets. almost puked a few times in the process. now I'm gonna spend the money I would've spent on concert tickets ordering delivery for chicken tenders instead.

NAACP, state leaders call on feds to investigate MPD
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — State legislators joined the NAACP and other community leaders on Friday to call for a federal investigation into the conduct of the Memphis Police Department.
More than 20 community leaders have signed a letter requesting that the United States Department of Justice to investigate the conduct of the Memphis Police Department following the death of Tyre Nichols.
This effort is being led by State Representatives GA Hardaway and Joe Towns Junior.
In the letter, it says the brutal beating of Tyre Nichols is not an isolated event but instead shows a systemic culture that needs to be addressed.
They are asking for the DOJ to launch a pattern of practices investigation into MPD to review everything from policies and procedures to civil complaints and use of force.
“We got to get a grip on these exceptional officers who are doing this crime under the color of law,” State Rep. GA Hardaway said. “I can think of no greater betrayal than the person that you look to for help the person that you look to to save you in a time of crisis being that individual who victimizes you.”

Just a week ago, a judge ordered the release of the affidavit on which the FBI applied for a search warrant for Mar-a-Lago. That document revealed that Trump had taken highly classified documents from the government and held them in insecure locations. That document was horrifying, but it referred only to documents the government had already recovered, not the ones for which it would go on to search for on August 8.
Today the unsealing of a court filing revealed that the August 8 search turned up more than 11,000 documents or photographs that were not classified, 31 documents marked CONFIDENTIAL, 54 marked SECRET, and 18 marked TOP SECRET. In addition, agents found 48 empty folders marked CLASSIFIED, and 42 empty folders marked to be returned to a military aide. Those documents were not filed with the envelopes.
This story is unprecedented and explosive. As Sue Gordon, who was principal deputy director of national intelligence from 2017 to 2019, told MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace yesterday, in addition to the potential for exposing national secrets, the exposure of the networks and techniques that were in those documents could unravel intelligence networks that took decades to build.
The implications for the destruction of our national security at Trump’s hands are enormous.
And yet, after President Joe Biden’s speech last night saying that “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic,” Republicans have rushed to attack Biden as divisive, hateful, or disparaging of half the country, claiming far more support than they have. Biden offered them an off-ramp from this profound scandal, inviting them to stand on the side of defending democracy, and they refused it.
They have tied themselves to what looks like it is on the way to becoming the biggest attack on our national security in our history, but it is not clear to me that even remaining Republican voters will be okay with the compromise of our national security. National security used to be very important to Republicans.
Trump’s attorney general Bill Barr seemed today to be trying to get whatever is left of the Republican establishment to abandon the former president. He told two different Fox News Channel programs: “I…think for them to have taken things to the current point, they probably have pretty good evidence…. I think the driver on this from the beginning was…loads of classified information sitting in Mar-a-Lago. People say this was unprecedented, well it’s also unprecedented for a president to take all this classified information and put them in a country club.”
“I can’t think of a legitimate reason why they…could be taken…away from the government if they’re classified.” He added that he was “skeptical” that Trump had declassified the documents. “I think it’s highly improbable, [and]...if in fact he sort of stood over scores of boxes, not really knowing what was in them, and said ‘I hereby declassify everything in here,’ that would be such an abuse and…shows such recklessness it’s almost worse than taking the documents.”
Among all the Republican backlash over Biden’s speech, today, veteran CNN White House reporter John Harwood said:
“The core point he made in that political speech about a threat to democracy is true.
“Now, that’s something that’s not easy for us, as journalists, to say. We’re brought up to believe there’s two different political parties with different points of view and we don’t take sides in honest disagreements between them. But that’s not what we’re talking about. These are not honest disagreements. The Republican Party right now is led by a dishonest demagogue.
“Many, many Republicans are rallying behind his lies about the 2020 election and other things as well. And a significant portion—or a sufficient portion—of the constituency that they’re leading attacked the Capitol on January 6th. Violently.
“By offering pardons or suggesting pardons for those people who violently attacked the Capitol, which you’ve been pointing out numerous times this morning, Donald Trump made Joe Biden’s point for him.”
Shortly afterward, Harwood announced he was no longer with CNN.
A source told Dan Froomkin of Press Watch that Harwood had been told last month he was being let go, despite his long-term contract, and that he used his last broadcast to send a message.

Everyone is yelling indict him, but it is way to early. FBI, DOJ, NSA, CIA etc. are now correlating everything: fingerprints, folders, missing documents, access authorizations, in-and-out of storage room via video at Bada-Bing lounge...errr...I mean Mar-a-Lago, blown-dead agents, unusual events in clandestine world, financial transactions, intercepted communications by adversaries who might have an interest in the intelligence that was in those folders, etc. and THEN a more complete picture will emerge. Yes, at a minimum we have the Orange Clown guilty on crimes mentioned in Search Warrant but is that the worst of it and empty folders were props to impress losers at Bada-Bing, or can treason be found when ALL the pieces to the puzzle are put together? Garland will not do anything until he and all agencies have fully squeezed these lemons.

“In August 2019, 18-year-old Kaysera Stops Pretty Places was murdered in Big Horn County, Montana. The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and the Montana Department of Justice refused to investigate, letting her murder go unpunished and preventing Kaysera and her family from getting the justice they deserve.
Kaysera Stops Pretty Places went missing on August 24, 2019 in a suburban neighborhood of Hardin, Montana, less than a half mile from Crow Reservation boundary. On August 29, her body was found in that same neighborhood. Law enforcement knew they had found Kaysera’s body, but did not tell the family that Kaysera’s body had been found until September 11—causing the family to hopelessly search for almost two weeks.
Days before Kaysera went missing, she filmed and posted to social media the beating of her 15-year-old brother by law enforcement at Crow Fair. The officers beating the minor in a wheelchair included Big Horn County deputies. There is reason to believe that one of the Big Horn County Sheriff’s deputies under investigation for the scene filmed by Kaysera was a responding officer when her body was discovered.
Next, the Big Horn County Coroner Terry Bullis took Kaysera’s remains to his personal funeral home before she was identified by the crime lab and coerced her family into cremating her remains, going against the family’s cultural beliefs and destroying any evidence.
Despite the suspicious circumstances surrounding Kaysera’s death, the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and the Montana Department of Justice have done absolutely nothing to investigate. Kaysera’s family has provided the authorities with tips and evidence to aid the investigation yet they continue to be ignored. These law enforcement agencies fail Kaysera and her family every day they are not looking for her killer. They must be held accountable. They must do their jobs and bring justice to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (“MMIW”) like Kaysera.
We demand the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office, specifically Sheriff Lawrence Big Hair, actually investigate Kaysera’s murder. Today, Big Horn County has one of the highest rates of MMIW in the entire United States. Their incompetence and complete disregard for the lives of their Native women and girls demonstrates why. We demand that County Attorney Jay Harris release information requested by the family who have not received a basic police report from the county. As Sheriff Big Hair is not investigating Kaysera’s murder, we demand he cooperate with and allow other entities such as the U.S. Department of Justice Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (“MMIP”) Task Force to review Kaysera’s case and adequately investigate her murder.
We demand the FBI fulfill its responsibility to Kaysera and other Native women and girls. When a tribal citizen living on a reservation goes missing and is murdered, the FBI has a trust duty and responsibility to investigate. The FBI stated it would not investigate because her body was found half a mile off the Crow Reservation border, claiming it had “no jurisdiction.” This is despite the fact that there is absolutely no evidence to prove Kaysera’s life had not been taken on the reservation—where the FBI would have undoubtedly had jurisdiction.
We demand the Montana Department of Justice investigate and prosecute the crimes committed against Kaysera. It is the duty of the Montana DOJ to ensure its citizens are safe and that crimes in Montana do not go unpunished.
We demand Governor Gianforte put an end to the rampant murder and corruption in his state and protect MMIW in the State of Montana.
Shame on law enforcement for forcing our families to investigate these horrendous crimes themselves. Shame on them for letting heinous murders of Indigenous women like Kaysera go unpunished. Shame on them for not valuing the lives of our Native women and girls.
Please sign and share this position as we fight for #JusticeForKaysera and all Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women who have been abandoned by the authorities sworn to protect them.”

Ex-CEO Parag Agrawal and Two Other Top Executives Sue Twitter to Reimburse Them $1 Million
Parag Agrawal, the former CEO of Twitter and the ex-financial officer, and the ex-chief legal officer claimed in a lawsuit against the company that Twitter owes them worth $1 million and that they need to be paid this amount as per an agreement. The reimbursement demand is also for the cost of investigations, litigation, and congressional inquiries about their jobs at the company. Twitter has responded with a poop emoji to an AFP request to provide a comment.
The filing at the court contained details of several expenses related to inquiries by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). However, this does not have the details about the investigation type and if the inquiry is still ongoing. Ned Segal, the then chief financial officer, and ex-CEO Agrawal testified last year to the SEC and have engaged with the federal authorities continually as per the court documents.
The SEC is conducting an investigation to find out if Musk adhered to the security rules at the time of amassing the company shares. In fact, Vijaya Gadde, the former Twitter chief legal officer was summoned to US congressional hearing. And the hearing was about Twitter and free speech after Elon released Twitter Files last year related to content moderation for the site.
In a lawsuit by a man, who was bullied as a white supremacist, claimed that Gadde was a defendant. Segal, Gadde, and Agrawal were terminated by Elon Musk from their positions in late October as he cracked the deal of acquiring Twitter for $44 billion. The three ex-employees of Twitter said that the company has to reimburse them as it is bound by agreements.
But until now they have just acknowledged the receipt of the invoices and nothing more. Elon Musk has been criticized already for the fact that after taking over Twitter, he has made broad cuts, layoffs, and even reduced the ranks of employees. and it has done that so often that Twitter’s ability to bathe abuse and misinformation, and its stability are now easily questioned by others.
There are complaints as well against the company for keeping the bills and rent due as Musk standing true to his promise of cutting costs like crazy. According to the market trackers, it has been deduced that the advertising revenue for Twitter has also taken a downturn because of concerns over hateful content and misinformation as Musk pursues moderation efforts.
