Thump. Thump. Vincent couldn't believe what he was hearing. He had a feeling there was something off about Isaac, with his constant questions about his personal life. If this was true, then all he intended was to get to know his brother better. He put a firm hand on his shoulder and looked at his face. Just like their Dad, they had similar facial features. Vincent wanted to clarify by asking him a question. The question was ridiculous, but it wasn't shared with the media during his disappearance. Only his family would know his habits, "What football club did he support?" Isaac turned the other way.

New worse theory just dropped into my head.
John Gaius knew all the ages and names and family details of all the house heirs before the lyctoral trials.
And John Gaius was the one who ordered Isaac infected with mumps so that he wouldn't be shipped out at thirteen.
If Issac got blown up then one of issac's even younger siblings would have had to go to cannan house and even John couldn't stomach the idea of a tween lyctor.

Something I've been thinking about is this: why was Steven fronting so much in the first episode? Especially when they were in the Alps? Usually when someone fronts there's either a trigger, or they need to step in because the alter currently fronting can't handle things anymore. So, since there's practically nothing about the Alps situation that would have triggered Steven to the front (except, *maybe* the scarab, since it's related to Egyptian mythology. That might be enough to trigger Steven. But I kinda doubt it), it's either simply because he's more aware that he's having blackouts and he doesn't want to be having them/wants to know what's going on... Or, maybe, assuming that it was Marc operating in the Alps and not Jake (which, this is tangential but: I think there's a strong argument to be made for Jake being the other alter fronting in the Alps, just because of how much blood there was. Jake has already demonstrated that he's pretty readily willing to kill willy-nilly, in ways that Marc is uncomfortable with, so I kinda doubt that it was Marc in the Alps... but I digress), maybe Marc is having a harder time keeping control of the body because he doesn't want to be himself anymore. In Ep. 5 they made it clear that the first time their lives starting bleeding into each others' was when Marc was in so much pain and grief and trauma that he desperately wanted an escape, and that's when Steven showed up. If Marc is so tired of working for Khonshu, and so tired of being himself, it makes a lot of sense that Steven would be fronting so much. He's doing what he's always done: giving Marc a break from his nightmare of a reality.

Summary: An accident at one of Alchemax’s labs has led to Miguel being briefly contaminated with cA1m - a prototype drug that is meant to calm animals. However it seems to have a very different effect in humans.

“It’s mainly preliminary.” You said with a smile. “You weren’t in the room, but the filtration system links four of the labs.” 
You check over Miguel’s notes, so far, he didn’t have any symptoms. 
There had been an ‘accident’ in Lab B2, an accident that was being rapidly looked into. Lab B1, and B4 had been empty, but Miguel had been in B3. 
Miguel was currently in a rapidly repurposed testing room, sitting on the bed with his shirt rolled up his forearms. His specific request for somewhere with reinforced walls, doors and windows had been… unusual. But he was a big guy, couldn’t hurt to be too careful. 
“How are the others doing?” He asked with a slightly raised eyebrow. 
“Okay,” you nodded. There had been eight people in Lab B2 when the container had broken. Two people, like Miguel, weren’t showing any symptoms. 
The chemical compound, nicknamed cA1m, while liquid in its storage unit, turned to a gas at above zero degrees. Luckily it also denatured quickly, and there was a good chance that those who still weren’t showing symptoms were unaffected. 
The chemical’s intention was for a more humane way to calm wild animals and livestock during veterinary checks. That way the animal in question didn’t need potentially dangerous anaesthetic for basic to mild level medical care. 
It also wore off in 24 hours. 
However, it still needed some work. And while early tests had gone well, apparently it did not have the desired effect in humans. 
Four of the six infected had gone feral, absolutely crazy with rage, trying to kill and destroy everything and everyone within their reach. 
Luckily no one had been severely injured before they had been tranquilised. 
The other two were different, they had… other urges. 
“Have you found any links as to why Doctor Guerrero and Doctor Vaughan didn’t react like the others?” Miguel asks. His voice was calm and controlled, like it always was. Politely interested, like he was listening to a presentation about your latest control data. 
“Well, I have an idea. Though I haven’t fully proven it yet.” 
He tilted his head to the side in a silent question. The action was endearing, it made your heart flutter and heat rise to your skin. And you hated it so, so much. 
You smiled quickly and looked down, trying to cover the fact you’d been staring at him for a second too long. 
“So,” you continued, drawing the word out a little to give you a pause of breathing room. “Both Guerrero and Vaughan are in relationships, both of them wanted to,” you pause for a moment, trying to find the most professional way to phrase it. “get to their partners. Unlike the others they also had a massively increased level of oxytocin.” 
“Your theory is that that cA1m causes a berserk level of rage unless the subject is in love?” There was the smallest smirk on his lips.
It sounded stupid when he put it like that. 
“Well… yes.” You fold your arms. “Look, Miguel,” he grinned when you said his name and you fought, and lost, the urge to smile back. “I’ve had fourteen hours and six people to base this off, plus three who are showing no symptoms. Give me a break, yeah?” 
He held up his hands playfully. “I didn’t say anything.”
“You gave me a look.”
“What look?” He teased. 
“I know you want to be trying to figure this out yourself, but you’re the one who insisted on not being allowed any breakable, or expensive, equipment while you’re in here.” 
He smiled. “It’s true.” His gaze was heavy, crushing almost. 
You shook your head and turned to the side table. “Anyway, are you gonna let me draw some blood or what?” 
He nodded and held his arm out to you. 
You know why you had been ‘nominated’ (begged) to be the one to see Miguel. He wasn’t the easiest CEO to work for in the sense that he was both physically and mentally intimidating, but what usually threw most people was that he was quiet, tended to watch and listen. 
And he had a bit of resting bitch face.  
But he was actually pretty pleasant to talk to when you got to know him. 
You brushed your arm against his as you moved to get your equipment. Miguel audibly gasped. 
A flash of worry pinched at your mind, you turned to look at him. “You okay?” 
Miguel nodded; he was staring straight ahead at the wall. Obviously in distress.
“Miguel?” This wasn’t the same as those who had suddenly developed into a full-blown rage, but still you couldn’t help the sense of apprehension that crawled along your skin. You glanced at the sedative on the side table and shook your head.
“Miguel?” You spoke again, a little softer and moved a step closer towards him. 
He shuddered at your voice, screwing his eyes up tightly. Sweat was beading on his forehead, heat rolling off him in waves.
“Miguel, I’m gonna-”
He moved faster than you could comprehend, one second he was sitting on the bed and the next he was looming over you, his hands clenched tightly around your biceps, and forcing you back.
You yelped as he pressed you into the wall, grabbing hold of his forearms. 
His eyes were dark and wild, brimming with a terrifying energy.
“Miguel, wh-”
He crashed his lips into yours, swallowing down your words and slipping his tongue into your mouth frantically. It took you a fragment of a second to react, surprise freezing your limbs solid. 
Miguel took your delay to his advantage, pushing his knee between your legs and pressing close. Not leaving a fraction of space between you as he devoured your mouth. Stealing your breath and igniting heat along your veins. 
“Miguel,” you managed to push him back, the heels of your hands in his chest. This was the cA1m affecting him, it was the only explanation. Maybe the filtration system had diluted the chemical and caused a delayed reaction. “You need to-”
He snarled, his eyes pinpoint focused on you as he leaned forward and kissed you, hard. All tongue and sharp teeth as he wrapped his fingers around the back of your neck and gripped your thigh bruisingly tight, hitching it high on his hip. 
You’d had dreams like this, fantasies, where he pinned you to the wall and kissed you until you couldn’t breathe. But you couldn’t do this, you couldn’t take advantage of him like this- 
There was a sharp pinch of pain as Miguel sank his teeth into your bottom lip. You let out a small squeak of surprise, pulling away from him. And raised your hand to your mouth, your fingers coming back red. 
Miguel, however, seemed unphased as he trailed kisses along your neck, smearing your blood along your skin. He ground his hips into yours, rocking back and forth and- oh god, he was big, just like the rest of him. 
“Miguel, you need to,” you swallowed down a whimper as he sucked at your pulse point, just managing to resist the urge to hold him closer, to run your hands through his hair. “It’s the cA1m, you’re not thinking straight.”
He murmured something into your neck, his mouth not leaving your skin far enough for the words to be intelligible. 
“Miguel-” You gasped as he nipped at your throat, not enough to break the skin this time. 
Heat was burning from his skin, scorching into your body like you were too close to a flame. 
You grabbed a fistful of his hair, yanking his head back a fraction too forcefully. You thought the brief pain might snap him out of it, give him a second of clarity. But as his chin tilted upwards, exposing his neck, he let out a long groan, his eyes squeezed shut. 
It went straight to your core, your thighs clenching at the sound. 
“Need you so bad, shit,” he rocked against you harder, pressing his length right up against your centre. “Always need you, you don’t understand,” he moaned and buried his head back into your neck, despite your grip on his hair, and sucked a love bite into your skin.
This time you couldn’t resist the urge. You sunk your fingers deeper, scratching your nails along his scalp and pulled him closer, pushing his face in your neck.

Miguel grabs hold of your shirt and pulls, ripping it open, buttons pinging off and going flying. Honestly, there’s less resistance from the material than you expected.

I was thinking.... Do you remember the scene from 3A where Stiles, Allison and Scott do the ritual of changing places with their parents?
I can't help but think, why was Stiles the recipient of the nogitsune?
I mean, why wasn't it Scott or Allison?
((Please correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a few months since I watched 3A/3B)) okay, I can't stop thinking about the nogitsune giving those riddles and messages to Stiles about;
"When a door is not a door? "When it's ajar".
I'm going to try to explain this, when Stiles/Allsn/scott did the ritual, they "opened doors" and made their hearts darken.... That's why throughout the beginning of 3B we see all those scenes of Allison, Scott and Stiles having nightmares, and strange visions. So far it's understandable, But if you notice, you will see that Stiles is the only one who establishes connections with the doors from the beginning.
But there are no such references with Scott or Allison. So, this is where my theory comes in and I'm going to start by saying that everything is related to the ritual they did.
Let's remember that the person who would bring back Stiles/Allison/Scott were people important to them and with whom they had a strong/solid connection.
Allison— Isaac
Scott—Deaton
Stiles—Lydia
(If you ask me they were basically trying to give a message about anchors there.)
We all know that Scott and Deaton are basically a father-son relationship, and it's very likely that the closeness Scott has with Deaton is more genuine and stronger than the one he has with Rafael. So that anchor is very good. Because the connection between them is *MUTUALLY* strong.
Allison and Isaac? I don't have to explain that the two of them like each other, like IN LOVE. The attraction between them is 100% genuine. And strong. There is no doubt about their connection.
But Stiles and Lydia? They're friends, and they're not even friends as in best friends yet. This is where I think something went wrong, because Lydia didn't even think about being Stiles' anchor, she was going straight to being Allison's anchor.
And we had the wonderful (sarcasm) intervention of Deaton, instructing Lydia to go help Stiles.
There was clearly no other option (I know) because it's not like Derek would have been there, which I have no doubt would have made a difference.
The issue here is that Lydia did indeed bring Stiles back, but I think of the three of them (stls/Allsn/sctt), the connection between them (Lydia & Stiles) was the weakest.Which caused the door that Stiles opened to not close properly. That left the door ajar.
You can take this however you want, but personally this shows me that the connection between Stiles and Lydia was simply never that strong whether one-sided or bilateral.
On the other hand, Stiles is LITERALLY Derek's anchor, and is 100% Derek's strongest connection. And whatever Stiles felt about Derek during 3A, I think it was something like friendship (And he has an obvious crush on Derek, he's a teenager, who wouldn't have a crush on Derek?) ( There is also that in fact Stiles does feel a connection with Derek, and the Hale pack for some strange reason knows it) and if Lydia could bring Stiles back, being that Stiles is NOT her anchor, I think Derek managed to get Stiles to come back without leaving the door ajar.
Whatever, I have no doubt that if Derek had been in that scene, the obvious choice to bring Stiles back would have been him.

I need more time to put my thoughts in order about tonight's episode, but my initial reaction is that I'm surprised by others' disappointment? I mean, I'm actually not that surprised because coming out stories are intensely personal with viewers all looking for/needing vastly different things from their media, but it just feels like a lot of what (I thought) Ted Lasso was trying to do has gotten lost under specific expectations.
Ted goes off on a long, ridiculous, borderline disgusting story at the worst possible moment? Yes, that's the point. For all my fun TedTrent theories, Ted is (currently) serving the role of the well-meaning, but often ignorant straight man. His function is to both provide the insight and warmth that he's known for - "Actually it does matter to us" - while simultaneously showing how this intensely heteronormative culture would react to a player coming out. AKA messily. If we got a perfect scenario where everyone was accepting and said exactly the right thing, that would undermine the problems the show is trying to acknowledge in the first place. The focus on Isaac's complicated anger and Ted's foot-in-mouth syndrome is just as important to this whole scenario as the club's overall acceptance and the fact that Ted immediately realizes that he fucked up: "I regret that." Ted Lasso is a feel-good comedy, so it's all couched in over-the-top humor, but I thought that was an important acknowledgement: your allies - straight or not, out or not - are likely going to react in cringe-worthy, imperfect ways and the important takeaway there is not that they're irredeemable people who don't love you, but that they're trying and you should gently correct them (as Colin does) and allow them to grow (as Ted does). Despite being an absurd fiction, Ted Lasso is working to write about this in a semi-realistic sense. Instead of a Perfect Coming Out Moment that makes all the queer fans (myself included!) squeal at how ~wonderful~ our beloved cast is for being oh so perfect, we get that realistic awkwardness, misplaced anger, and regret.
We cut away from Colin coming out? Yes, because he's already come out to us. I understand why fans would be disappointed in that, but I don't think it's fair to characterize the show as not allowing Colin to come out at all. That was the entirety of "Sunflowers." Rather than trying to fit Colin's big moment into a locker room halftime, the writers crafted a whole episode where he could grapple with that fear of being outed, be reassured, have a heart-to-heart with Trent, sit together on the monument, go out later in celebration... Ted Lasso made space for all that and, understandably to my mind, didn't want to rehash many of those same beats three episodes later, especially not when we need time to work through the intersection of Colin's story with everyone else. (Because despite this being a queer story-line about a queer man, the show is about the team. Colin's conflict was always going to expand into the rest of the cast.) No, we don't get to see Colin come out specifically to the others, but we did see him come out - both narratively by kissing a man and to Trent - and we see the team's reaction immediately after the fact. Making space for Issac didn't feel like it was cheating Colin to me, or focusing too much on the straight characters, because Colin's story has been a season in the making (plus some details earlier on). To say nothing of the fact that his hesitance about coming out is specifically because he fears the team's reaction... so why wouldn't we grapple with Isaac's negative reaction? We already know Colin's worries, we know what he wants, we see him seeking advice from Trent, we see him reaching out to Issac, we see that failing, and after all that his queer story-line is functionally at a stand-still until something else gives. Issac's explosion is what finally tips the scales.
Idk I don't think I'm explaining this very well because it's late and I only just watched, but I'm of the opinion that Ted Lasso did a lot of work in previous episodes so that they'd have space in this episode to do different work, which is smart. From a narrative perspective, Ted doesn't need to be the perfect ally because Colin already has a supportive queer mentor. "La Locker Room Aux Folles" doesn't need to try to balance Colin's emotional coming out with Isaac's internalized homophobia because "Sunflowers" already gave the audience so, so much, allowing the writers to both keep things on screen for our benefit and then later cut away for the sake of time. As said, stories like these are always going to be a hit-or-miss depending on what each individual fan wants and needs, but I think it's worth keeping in mind that Colin's story is not this single episode; it's all of them combined. Has Ted Lasso really not treated his journey respectfully... or did it just not try to check every queer story-line box in a single episode?

Anyone else had new thoughts on who Crowley was before the ‘fall’ since Season 2 aired…
I know the Raphael theory is still knocking about (actually had a weird epiphany regarding this last night so more of that later) but I think Crowley was an entirely different angel.
From Season 2 we now know he was a very powerful angel indeed (dominion, throne or greater) thanks to his classified document clearance in heaven, but also because of the seriously powerful miracle he and Aziraphale cooked up with very minimal effort.
After an initial idea and since doing some research, I’m leaning towards him being Samael, Angel of Death.
Now I don’t mean Samael as in the one who becomes Lucifer - there are many texts that see these as two separate entities, with Lucifer falling thanks to his pride and Samael… well did he even fall at all?
Samael is one of the Angels of Creation alongside Orifiel, Anael, Zachariah, Raphael, Gabriel and Michael. In Season 2 in episode 1 we see Crowley as an Angel playing a pretty big part in the creation of the cosmos, in collaboration with others.
Samael is the ruler of the Fifth Heaven, which happens to be Earth.
Samael is known as the “Venom of God” and is executioner of death sentences as decreed by God. He is the accuser, seducer and destroyer. As a seducer, Samael tempts humans into committing evil deeds. Through Samael, God tests humanity and the Archangel draws out the sinful and unrepentant, then God judges then and Samael destroys them.
In seducing humanity into acts of evil, Samael is just doing his job. He is both good and evil and is highly loyal to God’s word, doing his bidding without question - he mostly destroys sinners.
Samael is also the one who planted the Tree of Knowledge in the garden of Eden to tempt Adam. God however forbade Adam to touch it and punished Samael by banishing him. In retaliation, Samael took the form of the serpent and tempted Eve to eat the fruit from the tree.
When Abraham’s faith was tested by God and commanded to sacrifice his son Isaac, it was Samael who whispered in his ear to disobey.
So where does Crowley fit into this then? Well Samael hasn’t exactly ‘fallen’ from heaven, his angelic role took him down to Earth, performing deeds considered demonic and evil and his refusal to bow down to God’s creation led to his banishment. You could say he ‘sauntered vaguely down’?
We know from Season 1 that Crowley was the serpent that tempted Eve so he fits into the Samael theory there.
In Season 2 we see that Crowley had a ‘permit’ from God to destroy Job’s children and possessions to test his faith in God.
In Season 1, Crowley talks to God and says “I know you’re testing them, you said you were going to be testing them. But you shouldn’t test them to destruction. Not to the end of the world.”
So whilst Samael is an Angel, he very much has the role and characteristics of a demon and can be described as a fugitive or wanderer.
Regarding Samael planting the Tree of Knowledge, who else do we know with a bit of a plant fetish?!

Some other fun facts: Samael has red hair, and is associated with the planet Mars. He is also associated with the left side, the North and Tuesday.
It’s also said that Samael’s name shouldn’t be spoken aloud so as not to draw his attention - is this why Crowley chose a different name and doesn’t introduce himself to Aziraphale at the Horsehead nebula?

So here’s the slightly scary part and if Crowley actually was/is Samael…
In the Second Coming (as was mentioned as Heavens next focus at the end of season 2) the messiah is supposed to deliver everyone from death and everyone will be resurrected. But he’ll do more than bring life, he’s supposed to bring an end to death itself, including the very concept of it. Without the finality of destruction, the Angel of Death (Samael) serves no purpose and is himself, annihilated. Thus, with death undone, Samael becomes the Anti-Christ.
Could season 3 see Aziraphale finally forced to make a choice between heaven and the one he loves?

One hundred days.
It's been 100 days since terrorists invaded my homeland, the Jewish people's only home, Israel.
It's been 100 days since hundreds of Israelis were taken hostage.
It's been 100 days of war and sorrow and uncertainty.
But after these 100 days, the one thing I am certain about—that I've always been certain about, and have seen more than ever in the days since Oct. 7—is that the Jewish state and the Jewish people have true friends in Christians around the world.
That's why it has been so unsettling to see anti-Semitism being spread in the name of Christianity—by those on the fringes, and those in mainstream media. But you know who has notbeen fooled by these lies?
Israel has more than 700 million Christian friends worldwide. As people who value human life—in this fight against those who don't hold life sacred, we all—Christians and Jews—must take a stand now, before it's too late. The time to stand for Israel and the Jewish people in now,as hateful and dangerous anti-Semitism has risen by nearly 400 percent in the 100 days since Hamas' attacks on the Jewish people.
During these 100 days of war, I've been shocked to see centuries-old blood libels revived, which have always been intended to divide the Christian and Jewish communities and make them see one another as enemies: "The Jews killed Jesus..." (...no, the Romans did).
Over these past 100 days, I've also seen new anti-Semitic theories spread like wildfire, all of them, too, based on historical inaccuracies—including Munther Isaac in the New York Times and Father Edward Beck on CNN both saying that if Jesus were born today, he'd be a Palestinian (...no, Jesus was a Jew, born in what the Bible calls the Land of Israel, more than 100 years before Judea was named Palestine by the Romans).
As I've heard these dangerous, harmful, evil anti-Semitic tropes spewed, it makes me wonder why Jesus' own people—the Jewish people—are being attacked in his name.
Because today, Jesus would be a Jewish citizen of the Jewish state—the only country in the Middle East where the Christian population is growing, up 1.3 percent from the year before, with 187,900 Christians living in freedom. More than 20 percent of Israel's population is not Jewish and enjoys full legal equality.
Jesus today, would be proud to be an Israeli.
Today, the Jewish Jesus certainly wouldn't live in or even be allowed to visit biblical places like Gaza or Jericho or Bethlehem—these are places in which no Israelis are able to enter.
And like Israelis of all faiths—Jewish, Christian, and Muslim—Jesus would be in the middle of this ongoing war, spending time in a bomb shelter as terrorist rockets have targeted nearly every city in the Holy Land, including Jesus' hometown of Nazareth, these past 100 days.
One reason I am shocked, terrified, and outraged that such antisemitism is spreading is because Jewish-Christian relations have come so far. Bridges built on faith and fellowship have ended what have been centuries of distrust and worse. For the first time in history, millions of Christians and Jews are standing shoulder-to-shoulder in shared Judeo-Christian values we hold sacred. I guess it makes sense that the terrorists and the forces of darkness are trying to destroy what we, as people of faith in a loving God who sanctifies life, have achieved.
But those evil forces will never win. Today more than ever, millions of Christian friends around the world do stand for Israel.
Millions of Christians have stood with Israel—with their prayers and their support—during this war. Instead of joining the trending calls for Israel's destruction, they're praying for our strength and our success in wiping out Hamas, the modern day Amalek.
Millions of Christian friends of the Jewish people act by boldly rejecting the anti-Semitic lies being spread and by speaking up and spreading the truth about Israel.
No longer will a huge portion of the Christian community be fooled by hatred and lies, nor will they be fooled into spreading them. Israel's Christian friends are too committed to spreading love and support for their Jewish brothers and sisters, as they fight for survival in the only Jewish homeland.
The rising anti-semitism across the globe, only serves as a stark reminder to us all, why the Jewish people need a safe haven.
In Israel, it has been a beacon of hope for all of us, to see how millions of Christians love, pray, and act for Israel during our fight for survival, as enemies on every side try to destroy the land of the Jewish people, the Promised Land of the Bible.
No longer will Christians and Jews be separated by lies and hatred. Today, we stand unified.
These past 100 days, as Israel's enemies have chanted, "from the river to the sea," Israel's millions of Christian friends continue the same chorus to which they've been committed for more than 75 years:
Never again.

Isaac was a man of logic and science. He never believed in destiny, but rather that you have to work hard to achieve what you want. He also never believed that there were creatures other than humans living among them, but here he was, in his second life: a newborn vampire who had crossed a magical door and now lived in a different country and century. Even after all this, he still had trouble believing in soulmates. Most of the stories had been lost to time, already considered fairy tales in his first life. Was he supposed to believe that there was someone out there made especially for him? A destined love, with its ups and downs like any other relationship, but with the assurance that you've made the right choice — if that can even be considered a choice, anyway.
When you first came through that door, a lot of strange things began to happen. He felt this strange grip on his heart, a longing he couldn’t understand, experienced panic attacks for a whole week without any apparent reason, not to mention the night he started crying out of nowhere. But it all stopped as abruptly as it began. He didn’t think much about any of it, thinking it was just exhaustion since he'd been having trouble sleeping for a few nights, not realizing yet that it all coincided with your arrival.
As the days passed by, Isaac saw the whole house change because of you. Yes, half of the residents tried to bite you in the first week (including himself), but you always found a way to dodge and everything ended just fine. They all started eating together more frequently, eager to see what you cooked with Sebastian — or just see you, as Arthur pointed out one evening. They’d talk more to each other, help more with chores, laugh more, and have more and more moments where it felt like one big family. He even saw Mozart smiling one evening and the musician didn’t even drink that day.
If he believed in fantasies and stuff, he’d say you were a witch that put them all under your spell. Everybody was kind of fighting for your attention, but he was a little awkward and people used to call him a contrarian, which weren’t exactly charming traits. It wasn’t on purpose though, sometimes he just didn’t want to cause trouble to others, he just wanted to stay in his room and study quietly. So he tried to avoid you.
Emphasis on tried.
If he was working in his room, you went there to bring him snacks. If he had to go downtown to buy something, you tagged along saying you’d buy supplies for dinner. If he went outside to stargaze, you did too, laying in the grass to listen to him talk about physics even though you didn’t like it — and he knew it because you confessed it one night he caught you yawning in the middle of his speech. It didn’t matter what he was doing, you were there. It was almost impossible to get rid of you! 
At least he felt better now than when you two first met. The grip on his heart and the panic attacks were gone, which only added to his theory that he was just working too much at the time. He was sleeping better now, so he was feeling better. See? Pure logic. His back aching, his elbow hurting like he bumped into something, his toe screaming in pain like he hit the corner of the bed… Sure, all had a logical explanation: he sat all day and then slept all night in a bad position. That was all.
When you decided to stay in the mansion, everybody was happy, including Isaac. He didn’t feel weird around you now that he was getting used to your presence, he even considered you a friend. Comte obviously went all out and threw a party, ordering a whole banquet from a fancy restaurant, as he said you couldn’t help Sebastian cook your own celebration. There was music, lots of good food and everyone had to dress up in their tuxedos. It was hellishly annoying for Isaac, but at least he got to see how beautiful you were in that new dress. 
“Hey, Isaac,” you called out to him, rushing from across the room to his side. “Why’re you alone here?”
“Avoiding people.”
“Oh, should I leave?”
“We both know you won’t even if I kick you out,” he laughed through his nose.
“You already know me so well,” you chuckled and sat beside him. “You look good tonight.”
“Ah, thank you,” he felt his cheeks warming, so he was sure you could see him blushing. “Y-you too.”
“Thank you!” You beamed at him. “You know, I’m really happy I decided to stay. I feel at home with you guys. And the royal treatment tonight is kinda nice, even though I don’t know if I deserve all this.” 
Isaac nodded, not sure if he should say something back or just listen. “You do… Everyone is happy, I guess.” He took a look around the room, noticing how all the residents were having a good time. They had been drowning you in compliments until just a minute ago when you finally had a moment alone since the party started and decided to go sit beside him.
“Mmm, everyone, you say,” your tone was playful. He glanced at you and you were grinning at him. He knew you were up to something, ready to tease him. You rivaled Arthur and Dazai sometimes. “Does that include you, Newt?”
“Please, don’t start,” he frowned.
“I’m sorry… Sir Isaac.” He rolled his eyes and you laughed. “Or do you prefer how Sebas addresses all of you, Master Isaac.”
“You’re the worst sometimes.”
“And you still like me,” you smiled. It was beautiful as ever, but something was off. Why didn’t it reach your eyes?
He felt his heart skip a beat, a warm feeling spreading all over his body. What was that? It was like he was being wrapped with a warm blanket, yet at the same time, he had a strong longing feeling and… sadness? He didn’t have a reason to be sad. He wasn’t even really mad at you, he knew you were just being as playful as always. It didn’t make sense, any of his last thoughts did, so he just shook his head to try to clear his head. His feelings had been all over the place these past few weeks.
“Hondje, come!” You two heard Theo calling. “Comte opened a fancy bottle of wine.”
“I’m going!” You got up and answered loudly so he could hear. “Will you come too, Isaac?”
“No, I don’t drink.”
“Really? Why not?” 
“It has the same effects as blood: zero tolerance, a hundred humiliations,” he huffed.
“Oh, we don’t want you losing control.” Dazai came out of nowhere, a glass in his hands. “Then would you like some juice instead?”
“Do I look that stupid?” He deadpanned. 
“It was worth the shot, Dazai,” you patted his shoulder and laughed. You threw one last smile in Isaac's direction and went to Theo, who was already holding a glass of wine for you. “I’m not a dog, you know!” You complained to the youngest brother.
“And you still came, like a good girl,” he petted your head and smiled. Isaac couldn’t help but think that it was weird seeing everybody interact with you, how they changed so much with your presence.
“Come on, dance with me!” Arthur took the glass of wine away from your hands. “Wolfie, play something nice!”
“Hey!” You tried to reach for it to get it back, but the writer was already pulling you by the waist.
Mozart frowned for a second and thought about complaining, but he didn’t mind acquiesce to Arthur’s wish when he saw you happily dancing.
“I still don’t know the dances from this century. I will step on your feet,” you laughed.
“That’s fine, luv. I’ll lead,” he smirked. 
You two began to dance around the room and it was like watching newlyweds waltzing. Arthur was so confident, holding you close by the waist, and you were comfortable around him, now that you knew how to deal with all his flirting. Isaac felt a grip on his heart again; what was wrong with him today? Before it was like a little squeeze, but now it felt like… shattering. He frowned, putting a hand on his chest, as if he could make sure his heart was still there and beating normally. Maybe he was just tired. It'd be better to return to his peaceful room.
You had always seen in movies how the lady would graciously spin during a dance, so you thought you could try it too. You did a few spins, laughing when Arthur pulled you by the hand, and you spun back into his arms. It really was fun! At least until you didn't notice Isaac passing behind you. Arthur tried to stop you, but you opened your arms wide and hit the physicist in the face.
"Gods…" Isaac put a hand on his face to try to alleviate the pain from the accidental slap.
“I’m sorry!” You brought a hand to your cheek, a pained expression on your face as well.
“Did I hit you back?” He noticed and reached to move a strand of hair away from your face to look at you better. “I'm sorry…”
“No, no, you didn't… At least I don't think you did…” You let your arms fall to your side and narrowed your eyebrows. Why was your cheek hurting? Did he hit you back, and you didn't notice because the alcohol had already affected you too much?
Arthur raised an eyebrow while analyzing you two. You were now apologizing to Mozart for interrupting his beautiful song, but your hand kept going to your cheek without you even noticing, and there was a discreet frown on your face. He was a mystery writer, so he was observant and smart enough to see there was something up.
“I guess you’ve had enough drinks for tonight.”
“Thanks, Theo, really nice observation,” you huffed. “I’m really sorry, Isaac. I didn’t see you.”
“Don’t worry, I’m fine,” he assured you. He was fine, but he’d be lying if he said it didn’t hurt. Damn, you had a strong slap, even though it was accidental. You stared at him for a few moments and it was like he lost track of space and time, lost in your eyes. You two felt butterflies in your stomach; however it was impossible to know if it was really coming from yourselves or if it was just that weird feeling again, like it came from outside your bodies.
“Why don’t you drink some water, MC?” Sebastian interrupted, placing a tray on the table with various glasses already filled with drinks. “It’ll surely be good after all the dancing and spinning. Gentlemen, we also have blanc or rouge, juice and…”
Isaac picked a glass and gulped down in one motion, putting the glass back down at the table and taking a deep breath. It didn’t taste like rouge, so it was probably the juice. Then he felt a tingling down his throat and coughed.
“And wine for those who can hold their liquor,” Sebastian finished his sentence, staring at the physicist.
“Great,” Isaac mumbled when he realized what he had just drunk. “Really great.”
“Wanna sit down?” You asked worriedly. “Drink some water, it’ll help.”
“No need, thanks,” he said, closing his eyes to take a deep breath before reopening them. “I’ll just go back to my room. Goodnight.”
“Oh, okay… Goodnight. Call us if you need something.” You felt a bit sad he was leaving early but didn't want to force him to stay if he was uncomfortable. Isaac only nodded in response.
“So, luv,” Arthur called you in a flirtatious tone, placing his hand on your shoulder and hugging you from the side. “Will you give me another dance? This one doesn't count.”
Oh no. Isaac was already passing through the door, but he could hear it; he could almost see (and feel) the look Arthur was giving you. He had never really thought much of Arthur's playfulness, but for some reason, it bothered him now. It must be the wine talking. He blinked rapidly, trying to focus. He should go back to his room already, before he did or said something he'd regret later.
“Or, if you want, we can dance somewhere else.”
Oh no, no, no, no, no. For goodness' sake. He sighed loudly, cursing under his breath. His bedroom wasn't even that far away, and it would be a quick walk to get there if he ignored the wine's effects. But he knew it wouldn't calm his mind. He turned back around and didn't even need to get too close to where you were. He could reach you from there, and he did. Grabbing your hand, he pulled you away from Arthur to stand beside him, his hand in a tight grip around yours.
“I-Isaac?” 
Your voice brought him back from his thoughts. He was surprised to find himself glaring at Arthur. He felt his face soften when you called his name. The writer had such a smug smile on his face, which bothered him even more. "Yes?" He turned in the direction of your voice and was startled to see you standing close to his side. You were blushing and looking at him curiously. Isaac rubbed his hand over his face, trying to sober up a little and hide from your gaze at the same time.
“Come on, let’s go,” you laced your fingers with his. “I’ll get you some water and you’ll sleep to sober up.”
He wanted to say he didn’t want to, but your commanding tone didn’t leave any room for that. Instead, he just nodded and sighed, clearly bothered by his losing battle against alcohol. You squeezed his hand and went to the kitchen to fetch a jar of water, with him in tow. You bid everybody goodnight and thanked them for the lovely party before guiding him to his own room.
“I’m sorry,” he frowned when he finally sat on his bed.
“What for?” 
“Ruining your party. I should’ve paid more attention to what I was drinking.”
“You didn’t ruin anything, Isaac,” you said, placing the water on the coffee table to serve him some. “I had lots of fun and felt really special tonight, thanks to everyone.”
Everyone. He narrowed his eyes, bothered that you always tried to treat them equally. You stayed because you liked being with them, because they made you feel at home, they made you feel at ease, they were the family you never had, they loved you and you loved them. He didn’t want it. He didn’t like it at all. He wanted to complain, to make you see him and be his, to bite you… To bite you? Ok, he tried it when you arrived, but it was a different situation. He knew he couldn’t hold his alcohol, but it didn't seem that was the problem. He made sure to drink some rouge during the party, but your scent was so alluring. It was a different bloodlust… Like the one Comte told them about when they transformed, the one you feel when…
“Isaac?”
He blinked up and saw you standing in front of him, a cup of water in your hands. You were frowning and he could see the concern in your eyes. 
“Yes?”
“Are you ok? You’re pale. You should lie down,” you tried to place your hand on his shoulder to help him, but he panicked.
“No!” He said a little too loud and stood up, startling you. You took a step back and hit the back of your leg on the coffee table, losing your balance. You succeeded in not falling by waving your arms at Isaac, and he held your hand to help, but you dropped the glass. “Sorry,” he released you and crouched to pick up the broken pieces of glass.
“It’s fine, you just startled me. Let me help you.”
“No, I’ll do it. If you cut yourself…” he trailed off, but you understood him. He let out a worried huff, but you misunderstood it as annoyance.
“Okay, sorry,” you said quietly. Perhaps he didn’t want or need you taking care of him, he wanted to stay alone in the silence. Even though you never cared about it before, he seemed mad this time. You wanted to talk to him, try to understand what was happening, but you should just leave for now. “I-I… I think I’ll be going…”
Isaac noticed the sadness in your voice, he wasn’t dense. He got distracted for a second and cut his finger with one of the shards. He cursed under his breath and put his finger into his mouth to stop the bleeding. You yelped and he stood up in a second, grabbing your hands to examine.
“What? Did you hurt yourself?”
“No, I-I felt…” You were confused. You felt a cut on your finger, but there was nothing. You hadn't done anything, so it'd be weird if you were really hurt. You stared at his hands, holding yours so softly, and widened your eyes. There was barely any blood there anymore, but you could see a cut in his middle finger. The same finger you felt being hurt. And suddenly everything made sense. “You…”
“Me?” He looked into your eyes, confused. “What do you mean? Why are you crying?!” Isaac panicked and cradled your face, trying to look for signs that you were hurt and dry your tears.
“Do you... Do you know any stories about soulmates?” You forced your voice to remain steady.
“Yes, but I never believed,” he answered the weird question with a confused expression, and you nodded. 
“I've waited my whole life,” you confessed shyly, blinking the tears away. “The stories I heard said you’d feel something when you turn 18, or that you’d be born with some sort of sign. I didn’t get any, but I always tried to pay attention to anything different that happened to me, until I just gave up. Then I arrived at the mansion and strange things began to happen. Well, stranger than passing through a magic door and meeting vampires,” you laughed through your nose. “My throat felt so dry, it didn't matter how much water I drank; a pain in my leg even though I didn’t bump into anything; a desire to be alone in my room; a slap in my face earlier; my finger being cut now; and… the need to be where you were,” the last part was mumbled, but he heard. “Even though I thought you didn’t like me, sometimes.”
Isaac felt his body sober up all at once, his eyes wide while his hands were still holding your face, frozen on spot. He understood where this conversation was going but struggled to believe it. He had never believed in any of this. He wasn’t even at an age where this could manifest anymore. In fact, he was a lifetime too late for this sort of thing. However, it did provide a logical solution for everything that had been happening since he met you, even if it felt far from logical. 
He opened his mouth to say something, but what could he possibly say? He’d never been good at talking about his feelings. Feeling bolder now that he knew he wouldn't need to fight for your attention and face rejection, he decided that actions might speak louder than words. He slowly leaned closer, looking intently into your beautiful eyes and then glancing at your lips. You placed your hands on his shoulders, already feeling his breath gently brushing against your face.
“Can I…?” he murmured, not wanting to break the mood but also wanting to be a gentleman.
“Please, do,” you murmured back.
He closed the gap between you two, and only then did you realize you'd been holding your breath, relaxing in his arms. It was a chaste and short kiss, still testing the waters, but it felt so right. His bloodlust was ringing even louder in his ears, but he'd force it to be locked in a box of his mind for now.
“I like you. I really do,” he muttered, his lips still so close, brushing lightly against yours.
“Me too,” you answered with the brightest smile he’d ever seen. 
“Good.” Isaac smiled. You’d never seen him smile like this, you didn’t even know he could look even more handsome. He slid his thumb down your cheeks to your lips, caressing you softly and holding you by the chin. Not holding back this time, he placed his other hand on your nape and deepened the kiss when you gasped, gripping his shoulders tightly. Your tongues danced, feeling the wine you both drank earlier and sending goosebumps all over your bodies. 
You were finally with your other half — your soulmate — with hearts beating fast and loud, and your minds lost in the feeling of each other.

Since I am entirely too unwell about Ancient Magus Bride at all times of the day I have decided to break down the latest opening because I cannot do so for the friend I am watching season 2 with since she hasn't read the manga. Hands down this latest opening, Nemurasareta Lineage by Junna, is the best in the series to me. And I don't make that claim lightly, the first opening is iconic on so many levels from the visual to the lyrics, we ignore the 2nd opening bc it sucked (sorry to the fans out there I just do my best to pretend this one doesn't exist, no i have not moved on from my bitterness at its reused animation since 2016 next question), and season 2's first opening is also incredible.
However, what this latest opening brings to the table is some of the most spectacular visuals I've seen in a hot minute- and I don't mean from purely visual, I mean thematically, this opening is fucking spectacular. Every single moment has purpose and meaning behind it.
I will be putting the rest under a read more as to not clog anyone's dash bc this is gonna be l o n g
Starting off from the very first shot we already have so much thematic meaning crammed into this.

Firstly, the shot of Elias opening the book has many connotations, alluding to how he has read the Testament of Carnamagos while also alluding to the fact that him reading that book is ultimately what lead to this story happening at all. If Elias had never read it to try and transfer Chise's curse, Chise would not have done what she did and Elias wouldn't have learned how to let Chise be independent, and then Chise never would have gone to the college. In that respect it's a perfect opener for this "play," as it was the prelude to this act.
Then we have the next shot of Elias hanging like a puppet, showing us an empty vessel-like appearance before being pulled upwards. There are a lot of different ways to interpret this, personally it drew me back to how the Wil O' Wisp described a magus as "someone bound to their fate." Elias, a tried and true magus, is bound to his fate like a puppet on a string while Chise, someone who is not yet fully a magus is free to walk around the stage as herself. Elias' removal from the set, and subsequently the way he claps to bring forth the next "acts" in the show, I think speaks to the way he is largely removed from this arc. Of course he is there, watching over Chise and pushing her along as best he can, but he has very much taken more of a spectator role in this arc. He guides his pupil the best he can but lets her make her own choices.
Now, onto Chise's entrance.

With the college/the sorcerer's society as our stage, the protagonist enters. Chise walks in and looks around confused, just as she did when first entering the college and when she first learned of the dark politics lying underneath it. She is the only one not a part of the performance, the one factor that ultimately destroys the narrative the Sargent and the Rickenbacker families were trying to create.
At first, I thought these cardboard figures were a representation of the 7 powerful sorcerer families we are introduced to, but then I realized there were actually 8 figures so that theory is thrown out the window. This is something I'm not actually that confident in so if anyone else has interpretations I am so down to hear it. Obviously the woman in red holding the spider alludes to Lucy. The wolf next to her is most likely then the werewolf mother. The hooded man with the hammer I think can reasonably represent Isaac. While the knight beside him I honestly see as Rian (his sort of knight in shining armor attitude when it comes to Philomela, his very straight-laced straightforward view of things). The nun-like figure with the owl is mostly likely representing Philomela/Lizabeth Sargent. I can see the jester with the snake wrapped around him to be Zoey. For the last two figures though, I am absolutely stumped. The two women with the songbird remind me of Veronica, from the way she was raised up by her family to be a bird in a cage while simultaneously holding Philomela in an even smaller cage. For the family on the far right though I have absolutely nothing. However, I know there is some meaning behidn it, this opening is too packed with symbolism for it not to.
Speaking of symbolism, the sequence that follows is chalked full of it.

Elias ushers in the entrance of Philomela, trapped in her cage. The design of the cage and the flowers around it make it seem extravagant, exactly what Philomela's life might look like to someone not aware of what's really going on. But a cage is still a cage, and this one comes with a guardian owl, keeping watch over Philomela in place of actually showing Lizabeth. The toys lining the bottom are representative of one of the key moments that made Philomela realize just how tight the bars around her were- that she would never have her grandmother's love, no matter what she did.
Then we cut to moments of Philomela's childhood, again deceptively happy with what we know of Veronica and how she treated Philomela. The baby bird hatching from the egg, Philomela when she was still young and innocent and far too fragile. This association of the baby bird with Philomela also comes back later in a heartbreaking way so :')
Then Chise reaches out with the potpourri, and Philomela becomes alive. It's so fitting, in that Chise's kindness to Philomela, the understanding she has to exactly the pain Philomela is going through, is what touches Philomela so deeply, reminds her of the time where her life was not structured in this way. Chise gives her hope that it doesn't have to be, Chise pulls her out of it and gives her a perch to stand on, and it all began with one fateful meeting.
The shot we get of Chise smiling and swaying in the breeze is all too perfect, in showing that this desire for connection is mutual.
Fittingly, we then see Chise reach out to her friends one by one. Lucy and Zoe's each have a bit more meaning behind them, as we're still somewhat in the dark when it comes to Rian and Isaac's histories, but it still examplifies the ways in which Chise tries to help those around her as best she can. It also makes it abundantly clear why Philomela, and subsequently everyone else, are presented as children in this sequence: a direct reference to chapters 86-87 in which they all are mixed up due to Chise's influence and Chise goes around helping them regain themselves. It marks the turning point in which Philomela tries to take a stand against her grandmother and start believing in the people who have come to try and save her.
There is one gaping hole in this in that Zoey is in fact, not present at all in the whole mind melding thing, but I'm taking that as the animators/directors wanting to include him in this sequence as another main player. Plus the shot we get of him is very cheeking in showing a broken shell- in the way Chise figurative helped him break out of his shell and very literally revealed him to be a gorgon/human mix by accident.
In that interpretation it is also crucial to think about why Chise was kept as her teenage self and not also scaled down to baby form as in the original chapter. But overall keeping her as a teenager flows with the story of the opening itself better while still keeping those same allusions and thematics.
The next big shot to talk about is this one right here.

Many have already pointed out how it is an homage to the classical painting "The School in Athens." Which is very fitting for the college setting of this arc. More so than the reference itself, the way in which the characters are placed is so meaningful.
We have Chise in the center of it all as the catalyst of course. But we once more get that repetition of Elias as a bystander, observing the situation while remaining more in the background when it comes to Chise. Parallel to him is Lizabeth, who is similarly an outsider but with none of Elias' good nature, she is an outsider in that she wants to watch this scene burn to the ground (and probably why the choice was to then introduce a werewolf who leaps forwards on the attack, still under Lizabeth's control.)
Ruth and Alcyone are also parallel to one another, highlighted in a shot mirroring the two of them. This is interesting in that Alcyone is far more often paired with Elias when being given a point of comparison. While she is quite literally an artificial familiar, her presence is what sparks the idea that Elias might be something similar to her, and yet here she is paired with Ruth. They do have their similarities in the way they would do anything for the person they live for. A thought that struck me was in this mirroring there is also a contrast, Ruth shares his life with Chise, if he dies she is to die as well. However Alcyone's death was meant to be a way for Philomela to live- it was crucial in ensuring Philomela's freedom from her grandmother.
Also notably, Veronica is given a long, lingering shot. As a child, she is far more innocent looking, but the shot stays just a moment too long, as if trying to confirm the suspicions surrounding her (which manga readers will know are true). We also have Jasmine and Violet prominently featured, a very interesting choice considering how little a role they play in this arc, but I feel that current suspicions about how they will have a large role in the upcoming arc might be supported by their presence here. There actually isn't much to say about the shots with the werewolf and our first glimpse of how the show portrays the Testament as it gains a physical form.

While gorgeous there's just not much to say about them from an analytical standpoint. Besides for the way in which everyone is turned back into their play forms upon being killed, as if that was their original fate before Chise's interference with the story.

We then see Chise look devastated, the carnage of her dead friends behind her on the stage. It truly captures just how terrified she is of losing people she cares for. But then she looks at the thorn rune- plot relevant in the way her rune charms protected her friends from being killed. But it's also Elias' symbol, and yet another reminder of how he is still watching over and protecting her throughout all of this. It's only after she activates the magic that she looks up, determined to carry on and change this fate.

The start of our final action sequence for this opening is a bang, giving us this chaotic shot.

We see both bits of the classical painting and of our original stage figures being tossed around in the background referencing how the Testament literally rips its way through both the college itself and the students/teachers there. It also, notably, is not contained within the story, instead existing on the same plane as Chise. It's a being far too powerful to be contained in such a way, so it makes perfect sense for it not to be confined to the theatrical setting of this opening.
The next flash of shots is perhaps one of the most hearbreaking ones in this entire opening. First we're shown Philomela and her grandmother, then we cut to this:

Y'all the layers to this, the l a y e r s. We've already seen this bird represent Philomela in the opening itself as a hatchling. However the adult form of this bird is exactly the same as what Alcyone's base is, it is the only thing remaining once Alcyone dies. However we see all 3 stages of life here, lying dead on the ground. The Sargent family is a family of abusive cycles. Lizabeth passes down her abuse to her son, having been doomed to this path from the moment she was born. It's Adam who tries to break the cycle but ultimately fails, choosing to end his own life rather than return. This dooms his baby daughter to the same fate, nearly killing her as well. It's Alcyone, the last remaining gift Philomela has from her father and the one way he thought of to keep her safe even if he was gone. It's both about the cycles and about how they are broken and how Philomela will never truly escape the violence of the family she was born into, even after her grandmother is gone. This is then followed by the 1 picture of her parents that Philomela tries so hard to remember but cannot. Anyways I am going to be physically ill, next.

While the last sequence is just a build up to the final fight (cool as fuck but again, not much to say analytically), I do want to point out that when the Testament pulls in all the surrounding settings, it pulls in both the theatrical characters and the actual representations of Chise's friends with them. Which is such a cool little detail my jaw in on the fucking floor.

And after a brilliantly animated scene of Chise running to try and save Philomela from the jaws of this monster, everything abruptly comes to a close. Leaving us unsure of whether or not Philomela was truly saved, as the last set piece to fall away is that gilded cage, the angle making it unclear if Philomela is still inside before our title card appears. The quiet, peaceful shot of the classroom the title lingers over in favor of the chilling set pieces of the opening before it is an excellent place to end, leaving that sense of urgency and notions of the sinister lying in wait at the college.
All of this, and I haven't even touched on the lyrics- which I won't do so here. I am not a qualified translator and frankly this post is long enough as it is. It isn't as if this opening needs anything else to explain how fucking fantastic it is- the visuals themselves are stunning on a level few openings are these days. Not only does it tie into already existing thematics of the show, not only does it go through plot points we have seen and those yet to come in unique and engaging ways, the opening *itself* brings forth its own thematic reading of the college arc and Chise's place in it while telling its own story of events. Truly a masterclass piece of animation all around.

if one wants to read most of the (primary-tertiary) team members + affiliates as queer/queer adjacent, which I do for the heck of it:
obviously colin and trent are gay. will's just had his first threesome. keeley's been openly bi for awhile
ted's figuring himself out later in life, after thinking he was straight for a long time and now firmly divorced. higgins surprises everyone by casually mentioning he had a thing with a guy way back before he got married and of course his wife knows. jamie's been feeling more confident as a bisexual man (did keeley know is the question) once his dad is out of the picture. roy's been pushing that shit down for years, because he's slightly older than the rest of the players and his time was way more mired in homophobia than even today
isaac's questioning some things, mainly if all this dating and sex is really as interesting as the football. bumbercatch is unclear, since he just goes on a rant about how current-day sexuality and gender are constructs that need to be torn down and rebuilt in order to fight capitalist colonialist fascism. zoreaux/van damme mostly agrees with bumbercatch and high-fives him. montlaur says that he doesn't discriminate, because sex is a beautiful thing with any model. dani rojas semi-misunderstands montlaur and agrees with a "love is love, no matter who it is with" and he definitely had an intense homoerotic friendship in mexico (he relates to almodóvar films)
the rest of the team for the most part are unclear, due to the fact that most of them decide to give their queer credentials at the exact same time in response to colin's coming out, but the cacophony is cheerful
which leaves beard, rebecca, nate, and sam. I kind of like the idea of beard being someone who's confidently straight, because he went out and gave sex with men a go. he's also got that cis+ thing going for him, in that once he learned about trans theory he read all the books and was like. "hmm" for a couple of days, before going "yeah, bein a dude is good for me." rebecca is mostly straight, but if the right girl came along (the right girl would be butch + in her 40s-60s, because really what she's into is competency and a certain kind of masculinity) + she and sassy used to casually make out sometimes. nate is a flipping mess in terms of self-awareness, he could go any way at this point in his life. has he stared at a footballer for longer than is considered "strictly chill"? maybe, but he'll never tell
sam is straight, but he's the one who gets everyone's shit together and organises the pride work they do, because he's also the guy who inspires the rest of the team to get fucking organised (next to jamie)
jan maas is also straight. maybe. who knows - the rest of the team think, considering what was experienced in amsterdam - if any dutch people are straight...
