A PSA for people in the UK before winter starts to hit - While you can't even buy the covid booster privately here and will only be offered it on the NHS if you're in a clinically vulnerable group, you can get the covid booster by going to your nearest walk in vaccination centre and saying you are a carer. Google your local authority and '2023 covid booster' and you'll find where those places are, or check with your local pharmacy. There's no official definition of what a carer is, if you ever have contact with someone immunocompromised or elderly and especially if you ever help them out in any way, you absolutely are a carer enough to get the vaccine.
Also, one of the clinically vulnerable groups is 'severe mental illness' - it is up to you whether you meet that definition or not, they should not cross reference it against your NHS record and you don't have to go into further detail if you give that as your eligibility criteria.
The people doing the vaccinations have more vaccines than they have takeup and they want to get them into peoples' arms. It will only keep people safer to have more of us up to date with our vaccinations, get the vaccine booster by whatever means necessary.

A study published in November in the BMJ found that a single COVID vaccine dose reduced the risk of long COVID by 21 percent, two doses reduced it by 59 percent and three or more doses reduced it by 73 percent. Vaccine effectiveness clearly climbed with each successive dose. “I was surprised that we saw such a clear dose response,” says Fredrik Nyberg, an epidemiologist at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden and one of the co-authors of the study. “The more doses you had in your body before your first infection, the better.”
That lines up with the findings of several new studies, which similarly show this ladderlike benefit. Marra’s October 2023 meta-analysis found that two doses reduced long COVID likelihood by 36.9 percent and three doses reduced it by 68.7 percent.

Seeking answers for unbiased opinions and experiences to a particular question related to COVID vaccination symptoms, as internet searches do not provide adequate information to these specifics.
After about two years of having received both doses of the Moderna COVID vaccination (no after boosters nor the recent RSV vaccination) I'm randomly experiencing stab like pains within my right lung, and pin & needle like simulations within my heart.
As well as random palpitations within my chest and irregular heartbeats. This has been an occurrence beforehand as I've experienced anxiety and panic attacks, though my current state of mental health dictates otherwise.
*Edited to add information not to confuse future commenters: These feelings of symptoms have persisted for a couple months now. I'm experiencing no COVID like symptoms at the current moment and am COVID free. These symptoms of what I'm experiencing are not correlated to COVID, per medical diagnosis and treatments. These symptoms are in relation to others after having received vaccinations per testimonials online.*
To add, what I'm aware of and have tested, I was never diagnosed with COVID while the outbreak persisted.
Curious if anyone, of any age, if you're comfortable to share this information online, has had similar symptoms after receiving the vaccine and if medical treatment has been sought out, what were the diagnosis?
If so, thank you for sharing and helping.
Blessed be.

Your irregular reminder that every single complaint about the Covid vaccine is also true for the smallpox vaccine, and yet we all really enjoy the eradication of smallpox.
Scary new technology? People practising variolation and vaccination didn't even know what a virus *was*. We still don't know what the virus in the smallpox vaccine is! It's definitely not cowpox. Probably horsepox. Between Jenner and now, something weird happened. We call it vaccinia, because it's the one in the vaccine.
Side effects? A possible side-effect of variolation was *getting fucking smallpox and dying*.
Need boosters to retain immunity? Every three years plus post-exposure prophylaxis.
Not 100%? Janet Parker, killed in the Birmingham lab fuckup, was vaccinated.
And yet, after at least 3,000 years and a 30% death rate, none of us have to worry about smallpox. If we had listened to those arguments, it'd still be killing millions of people.

Severe anemia.
I have severe anemia so even typing is more effort than I can handle.
Won’t be working on my fic any time soon.
Tumblr media
It’s blood-loss anemia from a very very VERY heavy period.  Many women like me who were in the midst of menopause had a weird reaction to the Covid-19 vaccination.  We suddenly had our periods return, and some of them are very heavy bleeding.  Even some women who were post-menopausal had their periods return.
At first government health agencies denied this, said it was purely “anecdotal.”  After so many women reported this happening they finally admitted it’s real.  They still say it’s “temporary.”  Well, it’s been almost a year from me.
This is why I’m not getting boosters.

Please God let this pan out positively. If this approach works and can prevent re-infection, it'll be just what the doctor ordered.

sidenote but you could still get it a while ago (idk if u still can) if you say there are at risk people you live with or something (i dont think they check and they were a bit rude to me but like. i did get a jab which was nice) check the website!!
I doubt we still can get vaccinated but oof that's so brave i have such trouble lying im always scared they'll ask questions. But it's so weird they don't allow it for everyone who wants to! bc what if i get it and unknowingly give it to my grandparents? it's unfair

Great news for uninsured adults in the USA who want a COVID-19 booster! It now appears that ALL CVS locations are now active participants in the Bridge Access Program. The Bridge Access Program gives out free Covid-19 vaccinations to 18+ adults who otherwise can't afford one, so if you have a CVS near you, please go get one! For others who don't have a CVS near them, please go to vaccines.gov, click on "Find Covid-19 vaccines", fill out which vaccines you prefer (you can mix different vaccines if you have to so i reccomend just marking all of them for the age groups you need), and when the next page loads mark the "Bridge Access Program Participant" option to see only locations that are Bridge Access Program participants. Hopefully, other places that aren't CVS will start participating soon, so just check back every so often to see if there are any updates. The CDC Bridge Access Program website also has more details on what locations will be participating, but only CVS is appearing as an active participant on the vaccines.gov location finder at the moment.

I gotta say the Orwell quotes are getting way less snappy these days.
"the pandemic is over but covid is a leading cause of death" isnt as good of a soundbite as "war is peace freedom is slavery ignorance is strength"
