So i had wisdom teeth surgery almost a month ago and since there were some complications i wasn't able to eat any solids for 14 days. right when it started to get better I got Corona. Basically what i'm saying is, i have not left the house in a month and today was the first day i looked kinda human again! First day in weeks i have enough energy to exist!

Health Department v.s. COVID-19: Acts Against the Virus

The coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) is arguably the biggest and most impactful health crisis the world has ever witnessed. From the closing of schools to the implementation of mask mandates and full-blown economic shutdown, COVID-19 changed how the world operated for the better part of a two-year duration, and even still, the effects of the national health emergency still linger. In light of the impact of the pandemic, the question of if the United States health departments did all that they could to cease the shock to the general public during the pandemic stands. Said health departments mainly include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the World Health Organization (WHO), as these departments had a major hand in the research and development of COVID-19 procedures and vaccinations. In strenuous times of uncertainty, The United States health departments worked endlessly to provide the public with new information and data about the virus and overall crisis whenever possible. It is because of these hard-working officials that the pandemic was handled as swiftly as possible and new developments were made so frequently.

According to the CDC Museum COVID-19 Timeline, on January 3rd, 2020, China first informed WHO about the identification of over 40 cases of an unidentified pneumonia-like disease that did not respond well to standard treatments. By January 5th, 2020, the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) had enacted a response team to investigate the virus. By January 10th, 2020, the WHO had announced the outbreak of the coronavirus in Wuhan, China, and the CDC had published information about the fast-spreading virus on its website. Once aware of the situation, the U.S. health departments wasted no time informing the public and looking into the severity of the situation. In one week, WHO and the CDC investigated the virus’s destructive potential and issued information to the public to warn them of the possibility of a threat. Responding in such a timely manner is key when dealing with a virus of COVID-type destructibility, and U.S. health departments did exactly this to inform U>S> citizens about the virus at once.

Once it was established that the COVID-19 virus would be wreaking havoc around the world for quite some time, it was clear that a kind of cure or vaccine would need to be developed sooner rather than later. With fatalities high and still so much that was unclear about the circumstances surrounding the virus, the public turned to the government for answers. In under a span of one year, by December 11th, 2020, the Pfizer vaccine was the first to be given emergency authorization by the FDA.

Creating a vaccine for such a widespread issue in under a year was, of course, not easy. However, given the pressure and conditions, the vaccine was created with endless work and collaboration. Even so, many of the public refused to receive the vaccine, unsure about the side effects of something that was developed so quickly. Medical News Today (MNT) states that “...making a vaccine can take up to 10–15 years. This is because of the complexity of vaccine development.” What many don’t realize is that researchers and developers working on the creation of COVID-19 vaccines did not start completely from scratch. SARS-CoV-2, the very element of COVID-19, belongs to a family of coronaviruses. On the contrary, coronaviruses are not as new as one may think, and according to Dr. Eric J. Yager, a professor at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences who responded in an interview with MNT, scientists have been researching coronaviruses for over five decades. Due to the data already existing on this kind of virus, the creation of the vaccine was able to move swiftly.

Some would argue that although the COVID-19 vaccines were developed and issued to the public, they are not foolproof. In an article titled “COVID-19 Vaccines are Effective” by the CDC, it is noted that some people who are vaccinated will indeed still get sick and/or have a breakthrough infection. This is not a knock on the vaccine’s overall effectiveness, however. It is simply a reality for all vaccines as none are 100% effective or capable of stopping the disease from penetrating a human’s immune system. While the public would like this to be possible, especially for a virus as severe as COVID-19, the reality is that it is not. However, the CDC and the FDA have worked endlessly to provide U.S. citizens with three options of vaccines that are all equipped to fight the effects of the coronavirus. For a fatal virus that has been a threat for almost three years, three options for vaccination is a very good development.

While the U.S. health departments have done endless work to combat the aggressive force of COVID-19 since its development, there are surely things that they could have done differently. However, this does not mean the progress they have made and the developments implemented are not impressive and ground breaking. U.S. citizens should be more than grateful to the workers within these departments that have made this progress possible. Without the work of the WHO, CDC, and FDA, the COVID-19 pandemic could have looked a lot different in a very negative way for the United States.

Noah war schon um sieben wach und präsentierte mir den zweiten negativen Test ganz stolz und immer wieder: wegen mir sind Tante Friedi und Elli positiv.

Noah: Mama, ich weiss dass du lügst.

Tu ich nicht, sie hatte doch im Treppenhaus immer Maske an und das schon eh sies wussten, also Friederike und Verena. Ich will einfach nicht dass Du Dir die Schuld gibst, für was, was die da oben verbocken. Trinkste Dein Ingwerkarottensaft jetzt hier oder auf Deinem Zimmer.

Noah: hier bei Dir,dass ich Dich wieder riechen kann.

Noah: ja, ist mir gerade aufgefallen als ichs sagte, dass das ja nicht der Fall war.

Ich heulte mal wieder ne Runde und Noah nahm mich von hinten in den Arm/Rücken: weine doch nicht. Benni hat bestimmt wieder mit Wasser gespart und jetzt muss ich das wieder riechen. Eir lachten: nein, ich hab aufgepasst dass er das vernünftig macht. Wir lachten: Wenn Du kurz auf Mats aufpasst und mich anrufst wenn er wach wird, hol ich uns was bei der JBäckerei.

Noah: Papa ist doch noch da und jetzt schon.

Ja, ich hab meine Tage und Hunger wie Sau.

Noah: ich will ein Muffin.

Ok, bis gleich.

Ich wollte ja nimmer soviel diese Bäckerei sponsern, aber die Brötchen dort sind so gut, Brot kauf ich immer beim Lidl. Da muss ich auch noch hin, wegen Möhren, der beste Vorrat hält bei einer 11köpfigen Familie auch schnell auf. Tanja ist zwar zu Carolina gezogen, Connor aber zu Markus, also Gleichzahl der Kinder und 👶mach ich auch immer Möhrensaft ohne Ingwer natürlich.

Als ich zurückkam, lag Noah bei Sven und Mats im Bett und umarmte mit seinem kleinem Arm, seinen Bruder bis zum Papa, der ihn auch umarmte, so süss. Ich machte Frühstück für Sven;☕, einen Test und Karotteningwersaft. Er stand zwar auf, die Jungs schliefen noch. Aus einem 2Meter Bett das überrall an der Wand fest ist, kann ja nicht soviel geschehn und vorne ist Gitter. Sven meinte er ginge einkaufen, ich müsse das nicht machen, er habe um 9 nen Termin vor Ort , er muss sich das anschaun. Ich lieb den Mann so sehr. Als Noah erwachte, postete er seinen negativen Test und Martha einen Positiven. Noah kam wieder heulend zu mir, während seinen Hustenpausen😜. Elli schrieb ihm in der Gruppe: mir gehts auch wieder gut, Pcrtest aber positiv. Och könnte jetzt heim fahren, da kann ich wenigstens am See spazieren gehn. Um diese Zeit ist es sehr ruhig dort, hier können wir ja aus Respekt nichts tun und Noah: doch am Abend wenns dunkel ist an den Strand und jeder machte Lachsmylies, sogar Fiona.

Kaffeekränzchen um 10 mit den Positiven, danach spazierten 12 nicht Positive zum Strand nach Ahlbeck, die meisten trugen auch ne Maske und Abstand.

Wieder zu Haus gings auf Reise für Andrea. Ennio hatte den T6 etwas umgebaut mit ausziehbarem Bett, Küche.

Als Mats schlief gingen Noah und ich auf den Hof, er rollte und schauckelte.

Es ist so traurig, eigentlich wollten wir zu Mama fahren, naja eher fliegen und nun ist sie hier. So war das nicht geplant.

In der Mittagspause fuhren wir in unser Abendteuer los. Enni baute meinen T6 um, das ist doof weil wir mit meinem immer die kleinen Kinder transportierten. Er baute die hintere Bank zu einem Hochbett um. Mats und Nils sollten oben schlafen und wir unten mit den zwei Kleineren, wo wir dann noch ausziehen konnten für die Fusslänge. Die erste Bank ist noch drin, fährt aber jetzt rückwärts, da fahren dann jetzt Mats, Nils und Konstantin, Lorenz auf dem einmal 9.Sitz. zwischen Bett und Bank ne kleine Küche ein Klo mitten im Raum und bei Dominik schaute er sich die Dusche in der Kiste mit Duschhang ab . Ich glaub mir wird das zu eng mit 4 Kindern. Unter dem Bett sind dann Wasserkanister und Vorräte in Kisten, Spiele, etwas Kleidung und noch mehr Kleidung auf der Dachbox auf dem Dach logischerweise. Wir fuhren zu Fiona nach Lyon, sie sollten dort warten. Erstmals Hannover zum Erlebnis-Zoo, wo sich sie Kids nach dem Mittagsschlaf austoben konnten.Altstadt und alles drum herum. Am Abend als die Kids schliefen machten wir abwechselnd Strecke.

Ich war so gerührt, mein Sveni drückte mich ganz fest.

Ich war zum Frühstück bei Ronja eingeladen, natürlich mit Mama um 12.

14:00, bei Celeste zu Kaffee

15:00, bei Pia zu Kaffee und Kuchen

16:00,bei Celine einfach zum quatschen und nem Saft

17:00, bei 👵👴 zum quatschen. Durst hatten wir keinen mehr

18:00 bei Rosalie zum Abendessen.

Das war ein wirklich schöner Geburtstag, zusammen zu sitzen, jede Menge Blumensträusse bekam ich, einiges an Schokolade, doch viel wichtiger war für mich, das zusammen sein. Schwubsi und KellyLynn hatten mir auch Blumensträusse zuschicken lassen. Und Andrea überreichte mir auch noch einen bevor sie fuhr.
