FSF request of a Newblood rejecting Pureblood who previously bullied them because of their Muggleborn status. (Im sure a few Muggleborns don't finish the rights immediately because of love for their Muggle family, like younger siblings or ailing parents they may feel responsible for.)

I imagine it's very insulting to have someone treat you like dirt one day, and the next show you 'courtesy', for what is realistically no real outward change on your own part, but now makes you a viable spouse (more like bedmate/breeder- doubt anyone who treats someome poorly will ever see them as a whole person and not just what they can do with/to you).

(You did something similar with the Omega Lily fic where she rejected most Alphas for their past behavior).

Miss Marietta Edgecombe bats her eyelashes, twirls a lock of hair around her finger, and says, "I don't have plans yet for this Hogsmeade weekend if you'd like to escort me, Mister Creevey."

Colin pauses, stunned at her audacity, and then bites out, "I wouldn't escort you to Hogsmeade if you were the only single witch in the school, Miss Edgecombe."

She pales and gasps, "What?"

He rolls his eyes at her and snaps, "Did you seriously think I would forget overhearing you tell Miss Chang that I 'give a decent show of attempting to earn New Blood status' but am 'clearly faking' and 'still a filthy, little Mudblood' last year?"

Marietta stumbles backward two steps, the other students staring at her in disbelief, and then Colin continues on his way as if any response she might make is entirely unworthy of his attention.

His mother, Eleanor Finch Fletchley (nee Scott) worked as a secretary, but only part-time.

He has a younger brother, Timothy, and a younger sister, Belinda.

His family & he are Catholics.

He's a big fan of cricket and joined an Under 9s cricket club in Hurst before going to an Under 11s cricket club in Reading.

Although once he started attending Hogwarts, he wasn't able to play cricket, he still tried to practice during his time there and in the holidays.

Doesn't really understand soccer or football, or whatever you call it

Dean almost thumped him when he said this, Seamus had to hold him back.

Is always asking questions about his father's work and developed a love of having lively debates because of it.

Definitely was intrigued about the inner workings of the wizarding world and would constantly ask Susan questions about the Ministry of Magic and the Wizengamot when she said that her aunt worked there.

His wand is 11 3/4 inches long, made of Red Oak, with a dragon heartstring core.

His best subjects were Charms and DADA.

Became good friends with Colin Creevey after they were both petrified.

He taught Colin how to play cricket.

Could sometimes be a bit quick off the mark in judging people but is very loyal to his friends.

Good friends with Neville, amongst his other Hufflepuff friends, and always encouraged him to keep trying his best.

Augusta got in contact with his parents and offered them assistance in navigating the wizarding world.

You know what I really hate about the deaths in DH? I feel like they don’t make any sense, literarily. The characters were just killed for shock factor. We already got a sense that war brings death, that point had already been made. It also feels like it was lazy writing, “I don’t want to write these characters so they’re going to die” sort of thing. Because how much more impactful to Harry’s life would it have been for Remus to survive? For Harry to watch a man he admired and respected (supposedly because the writing on this is shit too) raise his son. He’d have had a positive father figure/mentor so that once he was having his own kids, he had someone who could go to for help and advice.

But it’s not just with the characters I love too. Colin Creevey’s death feels like just pulling a name from a hat. The impact to the reader should be: he came back, he was a gryffindor, he was brave and foolish. Then he dies and you’re like oh this is why kids shouldn’t do brave and foolish things. No! Let him take out a death eater or help someone. That’s a better story to say kids can have an impact on their world.

Thing that films unintentionally made more painful when reading Harry Potter books is Colin Creevey’s death.

Since Hugh Mitchell didn’t reprise his role in the later films and all we have as a visual reference is the 11 year old Colin it is how he is stuck in my memory. When I read about his death during the battle of Hogwarts it is that constantly smiling and always enthusiastic 11 year old boy that I see.
