Snow chaos in Europe caused by melting sea-ice in the Arctic
Snow chaos in Europe caused by melting sea-ice in the Arctic
They are diligently stoking thousands of bonfires on the ground close to their crops, but the French winemakers are fighting a losing battle. An above-average warm spell at the end of March has been followed by days of extreme frost, destroying the vines with losses amounting to 90 percent above average. The image of the struggle may well be the most depressingly beautiful illustration of the…

Environmentalists say Bitcoin must do what Ethereum is doing to fix climate impact
Environmentalists say Bitcoin must do what Ethereum is doing to fix climate impact
The New York Times published an article featuring calls from experts saying Bitcoin will eventually need to follow what Ethereum is doing and change to a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. Bitcoin’s ravenous demand for electricity is an undisputed fact. But things get muddled when it comes to where that energy comes from, i.e., fossil fuels vs. renewable sources. As much as switching to a…

Climate Crisis: Then And Now
Climate Crisis: Then And Now
I recently watched the time lapse video that shows what earth looked like in the year 1984 all the way to 2021. It was so cool but it showed a lot of alarming things. From that video I saw that overtime the green lands have disappeared and have been replaced with many buildings. There isn’t anything wrong with that but it’s sad because we had much more beautiful land back then. We have more dirt…

Why Do People Think Climate Change Is Beautiful
Why Do People Think Climate Change Is Beautiful
Antarctica is a beautiful place and has been home to many animals that live in those temperatures. Not only home to animals but also home to the oldest icebergs in history. I’m talking about 3,000 years old, but there is a issue. Temperatures in the artic are dramatically getting warmer which is breaking apart the ice. It’s scary because Antarctica is place where you can tell how climate change…

sometimes i think about how weird society is, like the world is so beautifull and awesome and all we can think about is some made up system that fails constantly. first of all, why can’t we just ditch the system and make up something better, I mean, the economy and power and stuff, i think it’s all so irrelevant. You only live once and why waste it on stressing about unimportant shit? The only thing I actually get why people are stressed about is climate change and space. Those are things you should pay more attention to, just spread some love and learn about the universe. okay doctors would be handy too. but all the money and power and those kinds of things. I don’t get why you would waste your life with that bullshit when you can do other things that will likely bring you much more joy. and i’m not saying that i’m immune to this, i also want to go to university and have a good and stable job, but that’s mostly because this society makes it almost impossible to not do those kind of things. You would end up homeless or in debt or people will judge you, although you shouldn’t listen to those people, it still makes it harder.

To improve climate models, an international team led by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania, the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and the University of Glasgow turned to archaeological data. The resulting classification from the project, called LandCover6k, offers a tool the researchers hope might generate better predictions about the planet's future and fill in gaps about its past.

Danger Of Oil Drilling: A Big Issue That Needs To Be Fixed
Danger Of Oil Drilling: A Big Issue That Needs To Be Fixed
I recently watched the animated big foot movie on Netflix and it focused on oil drilling. They were trying to stop the people from drilling oil into the grounds of a major wild life area. How ironic this is just that. I have been researching about it and it’s scary. They drill in areas where wildlife is populated and then they ruin that area, so now those animals have to leave. For some reason, I…
