Sam Heughan: Outlander star celebrates new gin partnership
Tumblr media
Sam Heughan has chosen an Edinburgh restaurant group to be the first in the UK to serve his new brand of Scottish gin.
The Scottish actor, best known for playing kilt-clad heartthrob Jamie Fraser in Outlander, has teamed up with chef Tom Kitchin, who has four venues in the city and East Lothian.
Customers can now enjoy The Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin in Michelin-starred The Kitchin, the Scran & Scallie gastropub, Bruntsfield restaurant KORA and in The Bonnie Badger inn in Gullane.
Heughan's gin release comes after the successful 2022 launch of his premium blended whisky The Sassenach, a name which is likely a nod to Claire Fraser's (Caitríona Balfe) nickname in Outlander.
The 43-year-old said: “The Sassenach Whisky has been a hard act to follow, but we are sure that diners and drinkers at Chef Tom Kitchin’s fantastic Scottish venues will appreciate our award-winning Wild Scottish Gin – especially when paired with the incredible Scottish seasonal dishes on offer. A true taste of the glorious Scottish landscape awaits.”
A London dry-style gin, The Sassenach Gin is distilled with foraged botanicals from the Dumfries and Galloway region of Scotland, where Heughan grew up. Scottish juniper is blended with rhubarb, heather, pine, bramble leaf, blaeberry, crab apple, and toasted oats to create a "well-balanced classic".   All four of Chef Tom Kitchin’s venues will be serving the new gin in a classic G&T, as well as in a selection of other cocktails including a Seasonal Gin Serve combining The Sassenach Gin, apple, elderflower, lemon, mint, cucumber, and tonic, which features on the menu at The Kitchin.
Heughan and Kitchin struck up a friendship after meeting while filming the award-winning series Men In Kilts with fellow Outlander actor Graham McTavish.
When Heughan launched his Sassenach Whisky in late 2022, Kitchin Group’s venues were the first to serve the spirit.
Tumblr media
Tom Kitchin said: “The Sassenach Whisky has proved to be incredibly popular with our diners across our venues – both as a dram and in a range of seasonal serves, popular with both local diners and guests from the US – they just can’t get enough!   “We’re really excited to be bringing The Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin to our guests.  The local foraged botanicals used to carefully craft the gin and bring to life the rugged Scottish landscape, marries well with our From Nature to Plate philosophy and the fresh produce we serve at our restaurants.
"We’re looking forward to sharing some wonderful seasonal cocktails with our guests just in time for Christmas.”
The Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin was released in the US in summer and received Gold at the 2023 New York World Wine & Spirits Competition, the Singapore World Spirits Competition, the Spirits Business Autumn Tasting, and the Beverage Testing Institute.
The new spirit launched in the UK with a limited release in late October, with 70cl bottles costing around £44.95.
Since rising to fame in time-travelling drama Outlander, Balmaclellan-born Heughan has starred in Love Again beside Priyanka Chopra Jones and Celine Dion, and Channel 4 series The Couple Next Door opposite Eleanor Tomlinson and Alfred Enoch.

5 forgotten songs from the 70s everyone should know about (in my humble opinion)
🎸 i'm a man (1973) - jobriath - now handled as the "first openly gay musician ever" he was supposed to become as big as ziggy stardust in the early 70s and "americas bowie" but was dropped by his label after minor success; the smiths' morrissey later found his music by chance and desperately looked for him in the early 90s because he wanted him to join his tour, only to find out he d*ed lonely by himself at the chelsea hotel in 1983 from aids-related complications.
🎸 chnam oun dop-pram muy (circa 1974) - ros serey sothea - cambodian singer who was heavily influenced by american and british rock of the 60s and early 70s and combined classical cambodian singing with heavy garage rock. when civil war broke out due to the khmer republic she became a paratrooper to fight for her country but was apparently k*lled in action and never found again.
🎸 bustin' out for rosey (1976) - tommy bolin - a promising young guitarist who was part of deep purple and james gang before going solo. he was on tour with jeff beck when he od'd in late 1976 at only 25.
🎸 theme from subway sue (1975) - pavlov's dog - this song and album and band in general might be somewhat known in the depths of the prog rock scene but imo doesn't get the recognition it deserves in the classic rock world. david surkamp's extremely distinguished voice is like nothing i ever heard before. also check out the song julia please. the band still exists with david on lead vocals and still plays shows sometimes.
🎸 love and a molotov cocktail (1978)- the flys - that song is just so quintessentially british punk that it's hard to believe it isn't up there with london calling and anarchy in the uk. they were handled as an insider's tip and believed to become hitmakers but broke up just three years after their formation after having a big fight during a rehearsal.

1990s Deep House Playlist
Nice little update here to this growing 90s deep house playlist of mine for you all. This week I bring you a few bangers that come from three of my favorite mixes of all time: Dimitri From Paris' Monsieur Dimitri's De-Luxe House of Funk from 1997, which features Second Crusade's "May the Funk Be With You" and Sir Raymond Mang's "Number One" on it; and then Harry the Bastard's Club "H" and Tom Middleton's A Jedi's Night Out, both of which are from 1999 and feature Global Communication's "Secret Ingredients" mix of "The Way" on them.
So let's start with "The Way," because it looks like it was actually recently added to Spotify within the last year, and really, I've been wanting that thing on this playlist for a lot longer than that. An extended, near-twelve-minute groove from the UK duo of Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton that just flows so hypnotically and manages to slowly and seamlessly transition into a completely different song in its second half. And as part of that Jedi's Night Out mix—which is actually a clever pun, because an alias that Global Communications used was Jedi Knights—it definitely has this classy, cosmo-planetary spaceship lounge vibe to it, and currently only has around 6,300 plays on Spotify. And that play count should go up as more and more people realize that this deep classic from the mid-90s is finally available on the service.
Next, "May the Funk Be With You," by Glasgow's Paul Hunter, operating under the moniker of Second Crusade. The great Dimitri From Paris really seems to be partial to dance tracks that implement a retro sound, from 60s cocktail lounge grooves, to 70s and early 80s disco, funk, and jazz fusion stuff. And this is a track that definitely has some of that in it, with its samplings of two different songs: 1976's "Intergalactic Love Song," by Charles Earland, which supplies the tune's delightfully whiny and full synth, and Denise LaSalle's own 1980 song, "May the Funk Be With You," which is responsible for its lovely vocals. So, older sounds blended with a modern house beat. Really excellent track that's currently sitting near 79,000 plays on Spotify 😌.
And lastly, "Number One," by London's Sir Raymond Mang. Very appropriately titled, this track appears to have been the first solo venture of Mang aka Laj's own career, and he seems to have aimed directly at the sun with it. A super chill and beachy vibe with a terrific lead synth that really doesn't come about until well halfway through the song, first evoking the same liberatory feeling of a keyboard solo from a classic 80s freestyle tune, and then following that up with some improvisational jazziness 🥰. All laid over a sweet lather of chill keys and a funky bass groove too. Nearing 129,000 Spotify plays.
Second Crusade - "May the Funk Be With You" Global Communication - "The Way (Secret Ingredients Mix)" Sir Raymond Mang - "Number One"
But folks, you know we're not nearly done with this post yet, because, as has become sort of my specialty here, I also added some bonus tracks to the YouTube version of this playlist too, which can't be found on Spotify 👀. A couple of these tunes are derived from that same Dimitri From Paris mix, and the other one comes from quite possibly the most eclectic, prolific, and underrated electronic musician of all time, Japan's Susumu Yokota.
Back in 1996, Yokota released a full-length LP called Cat, Mouse and Me on the legendary, Frankfurt-based-and-Sven-Väth-co-founded Harthouse label. And on that album is a track called "One Way" that also appeared on Harthouse's eclectic EP sampler, Taste It, Vol. 2, the following year as well. Somewhat simple in its construction, and with a bit of a vibe that feels more germane to early 90s techno, "One Way" gets satisfyingly cinched together when Yokota brings in a stabby flute melody to fill in all of its empty space. Currently sitting at over 10,900 YouTube plays.
Karma - "High Priestess" Yokota - "One Way" Dimitri From Paris - "Free Ton Style (Monsieur D's Classique Extension)"
And this playlist is also on YouTube Music.
So, here's where things currently stand with this playlist: on Spotify, we have 30 songs that clock in at 3 hours and 55 minutes, and over on YouTube and YouTube Music, we now wave 75 songs that clock in at 9 hours and 24 minutes. So if you want a full day or night of non-stop 90s deep house goodies, that YouTube one is definitely for you, as it has a slew of tracks from what was probably Chicago's greatest deep house label of the decade, Guidance, on it, and some great ones from a 12-inch compilation series called Bakchich that was released on Parisian label Basenotic as well, almost all of which aren't on Spotify either.
And if all of that just seems way too long for you, I'm breaking some of my 90s deep house down by year too, rather than just decade.
1996 Deep House: YouTube / YouTube Music 1997 Deep House: YouTube / YouTube Music 1998 Deep House: YouTube / YouTube Music
Enjoy!
More to come, eventually. Stay tuned!
Like what you hear? Follow me on Spotify and YouTube for more cool playlists and uploads!

🕺❄️ The most wonderful time of the year 🍾💃
It’s the end of the year, and the temptation to stay home under the blankets with a warm cuppa is ever so tempting.
Once again, our merchants and our elected officials have redoubled their efforts to cover the streets of London with enchantment and magic. Whatever district you are in, you will have the opportunity to stroll through our famous Christmas markets, or come across one of the many ice rinks installed by the city for the end of the year.
Now let's find the perfect way for you to leave 2022:
Tumblr media
Kicking off at 7pm on New Year's Eve, and running all the way until 2am, Somerset House has partnered with Moët & Chandon to ring in 2023 with a bang. There’ll be fireworks, music from Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK’s Jonbers Blonde and Soho Radio, food from Chalet Suisse, fizz aplenty and beautiful views. What more could you want from an evening ?
Tumblr media
If the buzz and agitation isn’t truly your thing or if you want a more classical approach to New Year’s Eve, come to the Opera House and enjoy Sir Peter Wright's sumptuous, classical version of 'The Nutcracker'. It's danced to Tchaikovsky's masterful score, and shines for its emphasis on the story's magic and for the beautiful, romantic backdrops that transport Clara to exotic lands.
Tumblr media
Or, if you’re looking for a high end dining experience and a front row seat for the fireworks show, enjoy your evening at The Savoy : New Year’s Eve at The Savoy is really something magical. The Savoy has formed a double-act with Champagne Laurent-Perrier to put on a show, with a festive activation entitled, ‘It’s Showtime’ that will give guests a truly memorable experience. From festive cocktails to extravagant parties or a delicious afternoon tea, enjoy a sense of Winter Wonderland magic.
OOC INFORMATION & IC DRAMA 😈😈😈 below cut
To allow characters from all social backgrounds to run into one another, we’ve chosen 3 locations that are all within half a mile of one another. They are all located in the “red viewing area” displayed on the map (Click here). Feel free to find all sorts of excuses to mingle with the wrong crowd as we bid 2022 our goodbyes.
The event will be running from today until January the 8th (we’ll make a poll about it when the time comes) and will end with a splash. As Big Ben counts down to ten, Londoners see their dirty laundry aired to the public through social media. Whether those are simple rumors, absolute lies or secrets you would have loved to keep a secret? That’s entirely up to YOU. - We’ll also ask you to decide on a date that seems most easy for the secrets to be dropped on social medias :)
As of now, you can send your characters’ secrets to the main through the ask box. If you have several characters with one main blog, make sure to precise with which character each secret goes. The secret may be a rumor, a secret, or complete slander (for more IC fun, try not to reveal the truth about your secrets in the OOC chats 😉)

Top 5 Alternative Nightclubs in the UK
Note: this is based entirely on my own experience and I have not been to every nightclub in the UK, alternative or otherwise.
5. The Cathouse - Glasgow
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With three different floors catering to three different alternative styles - some pop-punk, some metal, some guilty pleasures - Cathouse has something for everyone if you're into the alternative and absolutely plenty of space to rock out in. In fact when there's no band performing, the raised stage area in the middle floor just becomes another part of the dancefloor, if you really wanna elevate your experience (ba-dum-dum-tsh).
4. Spiders - Hull
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looking for a touch of the gothic or grungy? Look no further than Hull's premiere rock club, Spiders. Glow in the dark spiders painted on the walls? Check! Metal cages shaped like spider-webs? Check! Metal, hard rock, punk and pop-punk? Check on all counts! But perhaps the most unique and iconic thing Spiders has to offer is it's signature cocktail - the Sweet Death. Containing Vodka, Southern Comfort, Peach Schnapps and Midori, topped up with a lemon and lime mixer, this bright green sweet melon drink comes in a pint glass, and for those who enjoy a good alcoholic drink, it's a must have if you're visiting this club.
3. Rise - Newcastle
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Have you ever wanted to go to rock club that's right next door to a strip club? Rise has got you covered. Similar to Cathouse, it has three main areas, the main dancefloor having well-known alternative anthems, some more metalcore and deep-cuts on the upper floor, and then there's the wonderful outdoor area; far more than a simple smoking zone, the Terrace has plenty of shelter for if it rains, plays many guilty pleasures and classic rock anthems. And another unique drink to offer, at Rise you can get yourself a Firebucket: a Fireball Whiskey based drink which, yes, comes in a literal bucket. This was a frequent haunt of mine during my uni days and I will always remember the euphoria of spending my 23rd birthday here and Bohemian Rhapsody coming on in the Terrace literally the moment I turned 23.
2. The Key Club - Leeds
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one's the closest to home for me, both metaphorically and literally. It's just, literally the closest to where I live. While I will say I've found Friday nights here to be quite hit-or-miss, I don't think I've ever had a bad Saturday night in this place. It's not the biggest venue, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in energy. Frequent occurrences include a spontaneous moshpit opening up beneath the DJ, the entire room bursting into song when Black Parade comes on, and certain people getting absolutely blasted and having an absolute blast (by "certain people" I may or may not mean me.) I'll admit it's not without it's flaws, but it's a place that feels like home to me. I've danced here, I've sung here, I've even bled here - and I'll happily do it all again. Plus, once you've finished screaming your lungs out, right across the road is not only a McDonalds, but also a Taco Bell - and as we all know, they never taste better than right after you've stumbled out of a club at 3am.
1. Satan’s Hollow - Manchester
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So if Key Club is near where I live, and Rise is where I frequented during uni, why does Satan's Hollow take the top spot? Well, simply put, I think it's objectively better. I mean, you want a club that commits to it's aesthetic? Get a load of that great big devil statue looming over the DJ! The main room has a cool raised dancefloor in the middle, playing your more well known alternative anthems, but stay here long enough and the second room will open up! Depending on what day you're going, this will either be the heavier stuff, more metal and metalcore classics, or some golden gems from the pop-punk scene. There's plenty of space inside, 2 bars to get drinks from, the opportunity to mosh in the second room and did I mention how bad-ass that great big devil statue is!? The atmosphere in Satan's is always infectious, and going here is always a treat whenever I'm over in Manchester, so it gets a big thumbs up from me.

sloot whats your fav type of alcohol to drink (if you do drink)
I developed a love for cider while in the UK (not the sugary bullshit that's a dime a dozen over here, like actual brewed and fermented cider with enough booze you can taste lol), and that's my go-to at home. Sometimes I'll do a fun lil fruity cocktail, or a homemade tequila or Gold Rush depending on my mood (gold rush = shot or two of whiskey, ice cubes, bit of lemon juice, and a drizzle of honey) but that's mainly for a "conversation drink" or something to go with my meal. And when it comes to beer, the darker the better!
As far as drinking to get drunk goes, I prefer either super dark beer or whiskey/bourbon. And when it comes to cocktails I prefer to make them myself so they aren't too sugary sweet. Always wanted to try a White Russian and some classic drinks though, like a martini

Gifts for Every Occasion
In a world of mass produced, uninspired gifting it's easy to fall back on some overdone classics but why not shop local and find a unique present that'll make your loved one feel seen?
If she's an LFC fan then a Liverpool FC beer mat or a cool aluminium water bottle from the team at Good Liverpool are the perfect gifts for her. Or how about a baking class with a local culinary hero?
Gift Vouchers
A Gifts for occasion Liverpool card is a prepaid voucher that allows the recipient to purchase goods or services. It can be purchased from a retailer, restaurant, or online platform and may have specific restrictions. In addition, some cards are redeemable anywhere that the brand is accepted (open-loop).
Whether you’re buying for friends and family or treating yourself, a gift card offers convenience and flexibility. They’re a great way to save time, avoid shopping stress, and find the perfect present for someone.
If a merchant goes out of business, you’re likely to lose the value of the gift card. In that case, you’ll need to submit a claim to the administrator or liquidator of the company. If you bought the voucher using a credit or debit card, your payment provider may have buyer protection schemes you can use to get your money back. You can also use the Small Claims Court if necessary. For more information, see the CCPC’s guide to claiming gift cards.
Experiences
Liverpool isn’t just about the big brands you’ll find on high streets across the UK – this city is brimming with independent shops and cafes. From quaint coffee spots like LEAF to unique gifting stores such as Transalpino and Smudge Boutique, there’s no shortage of one-of-a-kind retail experiences.
Treat the Liverpool FC fanatic in your life to a personalised bottle of White wine featuring their name and a special message designed with the team’s emblem! Alternatively, show your support for the club with a replica shirt or Liverpool-themed Monopoly board.
You can also show your love for the club with a Cheeky Butler in Liverpool, who will serve cocktails in a revealing apron during a girls’ night in! Or get active with a bouncy session of Bubble Mayhen in Liverpool where you’ll be encased in giant zorbs for a hilarious kickabout. This is the perfect activity for fans who are looking for a day out to remember.
Gift Cards
Gift Cards are the perfect present for someone you can't find a gift for, or for those who love to choose their own experience. Give them the opportunity to dine at a restaurant or shop at one of Liverpool's iconic landmarks with our selection of gift vouchers for Heid's of Liverpool, Sweet Treats Ice Cream Parlor and Miller & Carter Albert Dock.
Art and culture lovers will appreciate a gift card for National Museums Liverpool. Whether it's tickets to an exhibition or annual membership, this is the ideal gift for those who appreciate Liverpool's amazing culture.
For those who like to be flexible with their money, you can buy a GiftRocket gift up to $1,000 with the suggestion to spend it at Liverpool. They'll receive it by email or print it out and redeem it at the business they choose, in real time. See how it works here..
Gift Sets
Gift sets are a great Gifts for occasion idea for any occasion. They are ideal for birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries or any special occasion. They include a perfume, body lotion, shower gel and/or shaving balm. They also often include a fragrance tester. These testers have a much shorter life than a full bottle of perfume and so are often reduced in price as they near the end of their shelf-life.
This Liverpool Vodka gift set is a perfect present for any Liverpool fan. This smooth vodka is a great addition to Coke, lemonade or tonic. It can even be enjoyed straight from the freezer! The bottle can be personalised using our live label preview to create the perfect Liverpool gift.
Treat someone special to an LFC pamper gift set that includes a luxurious LFC Spice Wood Scented Candle and a Luxurious LFC Musk Scented Bubble Bath. The perfect gift to help them unwind after a long day at work or school.

Sam Heughan’s Sassenach Gin makes UK on-trade debut
11 DECEMBER 2023By Rupert Hohwieler
The Sassenach Gin, owned by actor Sam Heughan, has found a place on the menu at four of chef Tom Kitchin’s venues in Scotland.
Tumblr media
The gin is crafted with botanicals from Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland, where the actor grew up
The Outlander star and the acclaimed chef are close friends and met when filming the award-winning series Men in Kilts.
Heughan’s Wild Scottish Gin will feature at Kitchin’s venues The Kitchin, the Michelin-starred restaurant in Leith, Edinburgh; gastropub The Scran & Scallie; Kora by Tom Kitchin; and The Bonnie Badger in Gullane.
The gin will be used in a classic G&T, as well as signature cocktails such as the Seasonal Gin Serve – made with The Sassenach Gin, apple, elderflower, lemon, mint, cucumber and tonic water.
Heughan said: “The Sassenach Whisky has been a hard act to follow, but we are sure that diners and drinkers at Chef Tom Kitchin’s fantastic Scottish venues will appreciate our award-winning Wild Scottish Gin – especially when paired with the incredible Scottish seasonal dishes on offer. A true taste of the glorious Scottish landscape awaits.”
The gin is distilled with botanicals from Dumfries and Galloway – including rhubarb, heather, bramble leaf and crab apple – which is where Heughan grew up.
The Sassenach Gin joins The Sassenach Whisky in the Sassenach Spirits’ portfolio, a division of the Great Glen Company, which was co-founded by Heughan and American entrepreneur Alex Norouzi. Last year, the whisky was included in a compilation of 10 award-winning luxury spirits.
Kitchin said: “The Sassenach Whisky has proved to be incredibly popular with our diners across our venues – both as a dram and in a range of seasonal serves, popular with local diners and guests from the US – they just can’t get enough.
“We’re really excited to be bringing The Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin to our guests. The local foraged botanicals used to carefully craft the gin and bring to life the rugged Scottish landscape, marries well with our ‘from nature to plate’ philosophy and the fresh produce we serve at our restaurants.
“We’re looking forward to sharing some wonderful seasonal cocktails with our guests just in time for Christmas.”

JCR Holiday Recipe Exchange
Tumblr media
Sixteen years have passed since we published our very first JCR holiday cookie exchange. Now an annual tradition, we look forward — every year — to gathering, baking, taste-testing, and serving delectable holiday recipes from our hotels and chefs across the globe. This year’s cookie exchange brings traditional yummies (chocolate chip cookies and Scottish shortbread) together with new, can’t-wait-to-try delicacies like French Madeleines from Paris. The famed Cifelli coconut cream pie (Anthony’s fave) which I make twice a year, Christmas and his birthday, is also included.
So make space on those kitchen islands, gather your ingredients, measuring spoons, and most festive aprons. Happy baking and be sure to send us a photo of your creations.
Happy holiday season.
Truevail: Coconut Custard Pie Hands down, a favorite holiday (and birthday) recipe in the Cifelli house: Janine’s famous coconut custard pie. Ballyfin, Ireland: Festive Biscuits What is tea in Ireland without these festive holiday biscuits?  The Safari Collection, Kenya: Chocolate Chip Cookies Who doesn’t savor a melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip cookie, especially this classic recipe from Kenya.  The Aerial, BVI, British Virgin Islands: Raw Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Slice From the isle of wellness, try this amazing peanut butter cookie dough slice. A great source of plant-based protein, peanut butter is also known to help lower high cholesterol levels. Glenapp Castle, Scotland: Scottish Tablet Cherished for its rich, sweet flavor and crumbly texture, the Scottish Tablet is crafted with care in kitchens across Scotland, especially at Christmas time. HL Adventure, Iceland: Icelandic Gingerbread Festive to both the eye and palate, we love these homemade gingerbread cakes. Hotel Esprit Saint Germain, Paris: Madeleines with Christmas Spices Bring a taste of Paris to your holiday table with madeleines, typical French cup cakes, spiced with Christmas cheer.  La Nauve, Hôtel + Jardin, Cognac, France: Christmas Cookies These lovely cookies are the favorite of La Nauve’s pastry Chef Simon Souchaud. Soneva Jani, Maldives: Orange Blossom Snowflake Cookies Bite into Soneva Resorts’ orange blossom snowflake cookies and be instantly transported to the Maldives. Yum.  Kisawa Sanctuary, Mozambique: Baobab Chocolate Chip Cookie This decadent cookie may require a trip to an African specialty store (for Baobab) but the effort is worth it.  White Elephant, Nantucket: Spiced Molasses Brownies Nothing speaks (or smells) of the holiday season more than White Elephant’s spiced molasses brownies. So good.  SION: BEST Chocolate Chip Cookie Chocolate chip cookies are always a good idea, so we are excited to debut Sion’s version of the classic.  Grantley Hall, UK: Speculoos Fingers Cookies are not as much a holiday tradition in the UK as in the US, but Grantley Hall’s festive afternoon tea cakes are always a seasonal favorite. Katikies Resorts, Greece: Cinnamon Cookies We can smell these delectable cinnamon cookies all the way from Greece. If the holidays had a fragrance, this is it.  Hotel Le Toiny, St. Barth: Chocolate Chip Cookies From Hotel Le Toiny’s new chef comes this variation on the classic chocolate chip cookie, perfect for the holiday season.  The Greenwich Hotel, New York City: Pumpkin Whoopie Pies While these sumptuous pumpkin cakes first appear around Thanksgiving, they remain popular throughout the festive season.  Sheen Falls Lodge, Ireland: Mistletoe Mix Manhattan
From the Emerald Isle, a taste of Manhattan with Sheen Falls Lodge’s festive Mistletoe Mix Manhattan cocktail.  Family Twist, Europe: Chocolate Almond Twice-Baked Cookies from Provence This decadent croquants (chocolate almond twice-baked cookies) from Provence recipe comes from our European friends at Family Twist. Merci.  Hotel Chelsea, New York City: Best French Toast Inspired by Cafe Chelsea’s Pain Perdu, try this dreamy French toast, ideal for holiday brunch. Though in France, it is typically served as dessert. St. Barth Connection, St. Barth & Anguilla: Truffle Croque Monsieur Not a cookie or sweet, but a savory truffle croque monsieur apéritif, French style.  Castlemartyr, Ireland: Terre New Year’s Cocktail The perfect libation to ring in the New year, this festive cocktail is the creation of Filip, sommelier at Castlemartyr’s Michelin star restaurant, Terre.  Lodge Lorien, New Zealand: Divine White Chocolate Berry & Limoncello Tiramisu  Our newest client, Lodge Lorien, is sharing the holiday spirit with this festive (and divine) white chocolate, berry & limoncello tiramisu.
