Not me imagining Cam and MC win an important/famous photo contest with MC as a model (maybe some photos are suggestive only a "veil" from artistic nudity) and "love and betrayal" as a theme. How would The Cheater, The Sister, and the families react? What if after a while MC was asked to model for a famous modeling agency/ TV commercials/ clothing brand (Gucci, Saint Laurent etc)?

Cam is a good photographer and I mean damn good. It's the one thing that Cam knows without a doubt he is good at.

Also would like to point out, Cam is very likely to photograph themself with MC. Imagine MC wearing just a thin fabric and the photo is focused on their naked back with Cam's finger trailing down their spine. (below the cut~)

💩 Chris - They would be pissed, it's inappropriate. Regardless of the fact you two are broken up. Cam should not be seeing his sibling's ex-fiancé nude. Chris is heated, was this something they should have been noticing when they were together? Has there always been this kind of chemistry between MC and Cam. I think if MC went on to do more modeling, and became more popular Chris would feel so conflicted. Just because Chris and MC aren't together, doesn't mean Chris has stopped finding MC attractive. So Chris would be thinking about MC...a lot.

💀 Jade - Oh Jealousy~ Talk about absolutely shit-talking the entire idea, it's crass and inappropriate. Why does MC feel the need to be doing this, so openly with Cam no less!? MC becoming more popular is going to make Ms. Cool as a cucumber Jade openly mad, openly annoyed, and envious.

The Clarke's - Actually find it tastefully done (they hate to admit it, likely won't.) They are art connoisseurs. So. I mean if Cam's picture get's famous enough...yeah they will buy it. If Mc goes on to do more, they will brag about owning the painting that "started their career". Talk about trying to get on Cam's good side.

MC's family - MC should have let Jade know about this, it would have been such a good opportunity for her. Mc really should be more considerate of their sisters. (aren't they annoying). They won't believe Cam took the photo. It just looks so well done. If MC went on to do more, expect Mc's parents to act like the Clarke's yet still trying to get Jade in on it.

Dear anon, I am so glad you asked. Allow me to explain

J'onn - literally everyone is concerned. J'onn eats stuff that's not food just because he can. He will snack on drywall. He eats bugs off of leaves. The actual food he eats isn't much better - his diet consists almost entirely off of processed sugar. Obviously chocos/oreos, but also just the kind of things a seven year old would pack for lunch. Twinkies, sugary cereal, actual candy, donuts, popcorn, chips, etc. He tries, half-heartedly, to insist that Martians nutritional needs are different than humans, but there is literally no evidence to suggest that. Someone in the JL takes him out to eat/brings him food almost every day to make sure he doesn't die.

Wally - only marginally better than J'onn in that he won't eat chalk unprompted. We all know speedsters, they need a lot of food to keep up with their metabolism and energy, but Wally is especially ludicrous in the "will eat anything" category. He will put anything and everything in the fridge into a sandwich, which sounds like a fun thing to ask about, but eventually everyone realizes they just don't wanna know. Also a connoisseur of wild food combos ("icing in chili??" "Hey don't knock it til you try it")

Shayera - A little bit more normal but the bar is in hell so that doesn't mean much. She will try anything at least once, especially on a dare. She also just has an insane pallete for space food. Meals on thanagar were really just anything slightly edible thrown into a trough, so anything that's cooked is fine dining. Also sometimes things that aren't cooked. Raw chicken is one of her favorite snacks - She likes to chew on (and eventually eat) the bones

Bruce - now we're reaching slightly normal human foods, but that doesn't mean Bruce's diet is normal. Honestly, he's just autismcore with a splash of "do rich people really eat that?". His schedule is so fucked he rarely ever has time for an actual meal, so mostly he eats what he can when he can. I have fully adopted the fandom canon that he eats shredded cheese right out of the bag. When he does eat a real meal, it's part of a carefully crafted food schedule developed over decades. He essentially has 31 meals, one for every day - a good mix of recognizable foods and "some guy I traveled the Amazon with made this for me in 1986".

Diana - we have now reached the "can cook" section. One caveat for Diana though, she has no idea how kitchen appliances work. If the oven isn't made of stone she may set something on fire. She's used to the best Themyscira has to offer, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and elaborate feasts. She can't really manage a feast in her apartment, but she knows a good few meals, she eats well. However, she's often too busy to make her own food, so it's like 60% take out.

Clark - this boy eats three square meals a day no matter WHAT. If you sleepover with Clark there will be pancakes and eggs on the table by the time you wake up. He's just a big country boy, his ma taught him well and he uses it. He cooks for himself pretty much every day, the only exception being occasionally going out for lunch during work or picking up a hot dog from a cart (he loves them, no one can understand why).

John - John is your uncle that got really into meal prep. He is religious about his food intake, he only eats the best and has every meal scheduled like a month in advance. He picked up a few recipes from his mom, but he really just picked up a passion for cooking well at some point just to challenge himself. He also eats really healthy, he's known to occasionally go on some weird keto diet that everyone makes fun of him for. He's the kind of person who eats overnight oats. He lectures Wally about his eating habits daily.

So. That was a ridiculous amount thought and effort for a simple headcanon question. This is what they inside of my brain looks like 24/7 thanks got asking <3

as for my writing process... man. im one of those guys who can't write anything longish without outlining. like, A Lot. i also do all my outlines by hand in a physical notebook because that's just what scratches my brain itch nicely and makes the story marinate better in my head!

sotm started off as me going "NOBODY has written a proper long story about kon's knockout and tana trauma?!?!! NO ONE?!?!?" (well, there was one i saw, but it hadnt been updated in like. 5+ years and hadn't really gotten into the meat of it yet iirc.) it sort of manifested in my mind as two distinct images: 1) kon looking at the glint of light off the rim of a teacup while trying not to cry + asking dick grayson what to do, and 2) kon asking clark why he wasn't a child worth protecting.

my first step with a longfic is always to take those initial images, throw them onto a plot diagram, and then fill in the spaces in between. the og one for sotm looks like this!

after that i go flesh out each point further and develop scenes per chapter. like, here you can see each chapter's basic plot points, but then as i got to each chapter i'd further flesh it out a Lot in the notebook, with as much detail as i could think of. for example, ch5's outline and notes look like this:

when i outline, i tend to try to imagine both the general vibes for a scene and specific dialogue notes, because i like sorta having guidelines for how to steer the scene as i write it. otherwise i tend to get pretty indecisive as to where it's going, and then i stop writing to think (or overthink) about what should be happening.

so when i do get a new idea and deviate from the outline i actually go back and rework the entire thing dhfjkds!! this happened in sotm, when i decided i wanted to add an extra chapter and focus more also on kon's career crisis, especially as it relates to his realization that OH, he's traumatized by tana in more ways than he knew. so i went back and outlined and fiddled with the last leg of the plot further:

and ... yeah that's about it!! i work pretty much In Order on everything i do, so it's: outline, outline some more, write the chapter, outline the next chapter, etc.

...also i'm not gonna lie i did partly just use this question as an excuse to show off some of my pretty pens. i am so weak for pretty pens. connoisseur of gelly rolls in particular. <3

Since I got an ask or two about these cuties, here's a whole headcanon post for the trinity!! Bruce, Clark, and Diana are my absolute faves so I'm happy to write for them ❤️ 💛 💙 a little diana centric because I haven't put down HCs for her before - enjoy!!

First, the kiddie's ages! I think Diana acts the oldest, she's pretty firmly around 8 or 9. She got babied a lot being the only child on Themyscira, but she missed out on a lot of the fun rowdy parts of childhood! Clark comes next, same kindergarten age as usual, around 4 - 6. He can be pretty independent but looks up to Diana a lot! Bruce is the baby, he stays in baby ages or maaayyybee goes up to 2 if he's feeling real big.

Bruce and Clark think Di is the coolest person in the entire world, and love to follow her lead when playing! Which can lead to a bit of trouble because most of her playing involves jumping out of trees or seeing how fast they can fly in circles. She's extremely chaotic which makes the trio kind of a handful.

Diana and Clark squabble over who gets to hold Bruce. Usually Clark wins out because he's more responsible (no, Diana, you cannot fly with the baby)

Bruce and Clark always want to hold Di's hands whenever they go anywhere

Diana looooves having her hair braided and she let's the boys do it! Bruce loves it especially, he focuses VERY hard on making it look neat and nice

Even if shes a little rowdy, Diana definitely knows how to be a big sister when it comes down to it! If she's put in charge she does great at the role, she keeps all the kiddies together and under watch! She's also very good at patching booboos, and making kiddies smile when they're scared!

She's also really good at telling stories!! She knows a whole bunch of awesome mythical tales by heart, and she gets very into acting them out.

All of them love crafts, specifically friendship bracelets! They all have them, and they end up having to take them off when they're big again, but they always end up making new ones next time.

Clark calls Diana "Di" or "D-D", when Bruce feels like talking he calls her "princess" with the utmost respect (it sounds more like pimcess but he tries)

They all have those adult footie pajamas for their respective personas, courtesy of Diana who REFUSED to leave the Walmart without them

They all have a lot of hero toys! Both of each other and their Justice League friends :) they fight over who's the best/strongest/coolest JL member literally every time

They like to play outside! Mostly because Clark and Diana have so much energy to burn off and no house can properly contain super powered kiddos. Clark likes to play baseball, Diana likes to play tag, and Bruce just tries his best despite being 2

They nap in a pile always!!!! They either cuddle up on Bruce's massive king sized bed, a long couch, or the floor with an unruly amount of pillows and blankets piled around

In the same vein: pillow fort masters!!! They love having secret bases, whether that be a pillow fort, treehouse, under a bed, a room they've taken over, etc.

In true mouse-indulgent fashion, I always imagine Alfred looking after them. In my heart Alfred was the original "every kid in need of a parent within 50 miles is mine now" connoisseur, and homesick Clark and Diana are free real estate. Plus Wayne Manor has all the coolest stuff. But really anyone can take care of them if they're strong willed enough, or they can look after each other :]

I am jetlagged and don't have the time or the brain to write up anything beyond some bullet points, so here goes:

I spent almost as much time at Dial Arch as I did in the show. This is not a bad thing, especially when there are friendly British fans and friendly performers and crew about. Imperial pints, yay! UK spirits measures, boo.

The VIP was worth doing once. Subtle references to the Eleusinian Mysteries on the kykeon bottle, nice. I don't know what the spec is but basically it was a drink for people who don't like whisky--mostly pineapple and other fruit flavors, presumably with some Dewar's in there somewhere. The museum/hallway scenes with Yilin and Sam put some nice flourishes on the Persephone storyline.

The three high points of my shows were these: 1) a Full Persephone with Lily, managing both X:1s and the Elysium coda. 2) a new-to-me Hades 1:1 with Sam, which brought new meaning to the word "underworld." 3) Fania bouncing back and forth between queen of Troy and queen of Mycenae.

Other things I knew that I'd enjoy, and did: seeing Ingrid on as Cassandra and the Watchman. Spending a loop in Peep with Lily and Isaac (I still can't get that stack-of-drawings trick to work, though).

New discoveries for me this time included a bunch of scenes that I hadn't witnessed before, and performers I'd never followed before. Ally Clarke as Artemis, holy smokes, and as Luba. Brenda Lee Grech as Macaria, ditto. Omar Gordon as Luba and then Agamemnon (with Fania/Clytemnestra!).

Thanks to FOH for taking pity on five of us huddled under two tiny umbrellas during a sudden downpour, and letting us into the lobby early.

I think I'm a real connoisseur of the blinding / Troy finale now, although I can't quite articulate the difference between when it works for me and when it really REALLY works for me. It's almost always moving and in fact more of the scenes were moving to me this time--I think knowing the space and the rhythms better meant that I could just get swept up into the narrative more easily. So I was tearing up at scenes both familiar and not. The bit where the Watchman mournfully takes up Iphigenia's red cape and holds it up to a rope as if it were a sail--sob.

There were some other 1:1s and walkouts and such, which don't need enumerating. All of them gifts.

I finally found the Gallow Green postcard and the owl bedroom! The end.

1949 Bentley Mark VI Shooting Brake

From the 1920s onward, it was not uncommon to see Bentley cars commissioned for work on wealthy owner's estates, their rugged, reliable and yet sporting poise being perfect mounts for their owners and friends to be escorted to the farer realms of the land. Frequently vehicles were converted to this more commercial purpose in their later life, when, rather than parting with a trusted old car, the 'family friend' was shipped off to a coachbuilder for repurposing.

More unusual was for cars to be commissioned this way from new, and in this respect the Bentley we present here is something of some rarity. It was ordered by its first owner in the form that we still see it today. The coachbuilder was Rippon Brothers, a house that could chart its history back to the carriage building days of the late 1890s and then the incubation of the motorcar. Based in the North of England, and originating in Huddersfield, at its peak it could count showrooms in various locations including Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield and West Riding although after the war, they were predominantly concerned with selling cars rather than building them. In the wealthy textiles industry of Yorkshire and the Midlands, they found a burgeoning clientele and were well patronized by their local market.

The factory records on file confirm B91FU to have been built as a 'Shooting Brake' and the original owner of the Bentley fitted that mold perfectly. Colonel George Hammond Aykroyd was part of the family dynasty that ran the huge carpet business of T. F. Firth and Company in Bailiff Bridge in the West Yorkshire county of the United Kingdom, as they would have said 'a stone's throw' from Rippon. Most likely reflecting the extreme costs of such an exercise in the conservative postwar Britain, he was one of only two people to have one of these cars built, and curiously enough today both have found themselves to the USA.

As a Master of Foxhounds, Col. Aykroyd's Shooting Brake would have been most likely been used for the type of work its name suggests, hunting. Sensibly, the spare tire was moved to free up space in the rear of the car and placed on the front right fender, while its rear seat could be folded forward for further storage if necessary.

It is believed that the trusty 'Brake remained in the family for some years, no doubt having seen routine service at hunting parties on the Moors. In 1961 the Bentley moved south to the Bristol area and became the property of R. Acheson Crow. This is the last recorded British owner, before the car migrated to the US in 1980 and arrived in the distinctly different climate of California, with its next custodian Michael R. Clark, who maintained the car for nearly a decade. The next keeper was noted collector Warren French, in whose care the car was a frequent sight on Rolls-Royce Owners Club events. Records on file depict and note how appropriate the car looked at a Winery tour!

After some years of Mr. French's ownership the Shooting Brake began a new chapter of its life on the East Coast with the much respected collector Henry Petronis of Easton, Maryland. Mr. Petronis' status as a true connoisseur of the automobile was well founded for his garages at his Normandie home at one time housed such serious machinery as Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, multiple Bugattis and the famed Captain Hewitt 8 Liter Bentley.

The present custodian of this charming 'wagon' acquired the car publicly from noted collector Craig McCaw in 2016. On arrival it was sent to Automotive Restorations to work through the technical aspect and to put it into a more satisfactorily reliable condition. Since when it has been used periodically on trips to the golf club and other such excursions.

An exceptional rarity, the 'Brake' would make a refreshing alternative to your Wrangler or Hummer at any beach, or indeed race circuit paddock.

Facts:

Originally, Scout dreamed of designing spaceships… but sometimes dreams change. Regardless, Scout has been seriously learning, studying, and actively engineering since age eleven. While Scout has a bit of an ego as far as being a good engineer goes, it is relatively well-deserved.

Whenever the Prosperity visit’s Scout’s home planet, the engineer makes a point of avoiding leaving the ship. A few former friends there tend to bring out the worst in Scout, and the Far’Ly’Dae doesn’t want to be that person anymore.

Scout is Deaf, and can communicate in a variety of ways- particularly because of the Far’Ly’Dae’s skill in lip reading. This is considered by the ship’s captain to be an immense asset, and Scout has been pulled away from engineering tasks to review security footage or participate in missions. The Far’Ly’Dae language Eein is just one of several languages that Scout is fluent in.

One of Scout’s personal hobbies is drawing nature. While the drawings aren’t particularly skillful, it’s more about doing something with one’s hands than trying to be the best. 

Scout is a connoisseur of Earth memes, and takes great pleasure in occasionally utilizing these in conversation.

Scout is the captain’s ideal candidate on paper for the position of Chief Engineer before Blue Streleku (whom has since departed the ship) and subsequently Skylar Clarke-Iz’an were placed in the Chief Engineer role. However, Scout is of the firm belief that leadership in engineering means not having much time to actually do engineering, and vehemently refused to be considered for the role. Scout thinks it’s great that someone else is willing to be the leader, and has been genuinely friendly and supportive to the person placed in this role.

Connections:

Ever Mysik: Ever and Scout have similar work ethics and approaches to their careers; both are qualified to have taken on a leadership role on their teams, but find the idea of being promoted unpleasant. They also have a joking pact that if neither of them finds a life partner in ten years, they’ll marry each other.

Vajean Otrinerr: These two have a ton of inside jokes that are incomprehensible to just about everyone else. They’re close friends and coworkers, and share secrets with each other. When Vajean was being considered for Chief Engineer, Scout insisted on remaining neutral in the recruitment process. 

HJ Violet: When HJ first joined the crew of Prosperity, Scout was apprehensive. An Earth mechanic with no experience on a spaceship whatsoever? That sounded a little worrying. Scout seized the opportunity to get the lowdown on HJ by showing her some small engineering projects to collaborate on. Honestly, HJ was a pretty good mechanic for being a space newbie, so Scout is on board with being HJ’s friend. Sometimes Scout takes advantage of HJ’s gullibility for the sake of a joke, but in the end, Scout likes having a cool new friend more than a simple prank victim.

Billy Joe Shaver had a reputation as your favourite songwriter’s favourite songwriter, but although he recorded over a more than 40-year span, his reputation largely rests on a small collection of songs he wrote in the early ‘70s. Waylon Jennings recorded nine of Shaver’s songs for 1973’s Honky Tonk Heroes, a collection that would energize Jennings’ career and make Shaver’s; that same year Billy Joe released his own renditions on his debut LP, Old Five and Dimers Like Me. Shaver recorded intermittently throughout the ‘70s and ‘80s, but largely subsisted on royalties from other artists covering those early songs. By 1982 I guess he’d figured it’d been a long enough time that he might as well take another shot at them himself. (“Where do you want it”, he may even have said.)

Probably record label pressure had something to do with it too. Billy Joe Shaver was Shaver’s second album for Columbia, and half the songs on it can also be found on Shaver’s first two LPs. Still, as I’ve underlined a few times already, those five songs are legitimate outlaw country classics, and the five new ones match them in quality, making this arguably the most satisfying record he ever cut. “Bottom Dollar,” a dialogue between a man and his last greenback, could be a standby for any good country singer from the 1940s to the 2040s; “I Been to Georgia on a Fast Train” remains a rollicking jam with an hysterical chorus (“Got a good Christian raisin' and an eighth-grade education / Ain't no need in y'all a’ treatin' me this way”); “Tell Me Virginia” is the most writerly slut-shaming in the country canon; “One Moving Part” nods to the Guy Clark motif of the workshop as a metaphor for the self: “See, I learnt real young down on the farm Simplicity don't need to be greased I got it all down to one moving part And that moving part is me.”

I could go on. The songs, both old and new, have that simplicity of craftsmanship that gets connoisseurs going (both Bob Dylan and Norm McDonald were big fans), and if your kink is stuff that works, Shaver’ll be one of your guys. Whether you prefer this one or Old Five and Dimers may come down to whether you like Dimers’ back porch vibe or the self-titled’s hellraising (and slightly polished) swagger, but if this ends up the only Billy Joe in your collection, it won’t disappoint.

(As an aside, Discogs is a very silly place. This record was only issued twice on physical media in a US and a Canadian pressing, both 1982. The albums are identical, but the US version is currently being listed at $75 USD and up, while the Canadian goes for about $15. Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.)
