Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988)
Dir. Tony Randel
Confined to a mental hospital, young Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Laurence) insists her supposedly dead father is stuck in hell, controlled by sadomasochistic demons after being betrayed by his evil, occult-obsessed wife, Julia (Clare Higgins). Few believe Kirsty, except the thrill-seeking Dr. Channard (Kenneth Cranham), who is intrigued by S&M and the young woman's lurid stories. So when Kirsty and fellow patient Tiffany (Imogen Boorman) head to hell for a rescue, Channard and Julia are close behind.

A series of emails between the town board of New Cannock, Vermont & new resident Christopher Pitt
Town Board: Hello, and welcome to the historic community of New Cannock! We have good values, nice people, beautiful fall views, and this Sunday, we will gather together for THE CHOOSING. You're "invited" to THE CHOOSING, Mr. Pitt!
Christopher Pitt: I'm sorry, I'll be out of town this Sunday.
Town Board: It's October, and that means it's Halloween season. But it wasn't the first harvest festival in the old country. Our ancestors once observed Samhain, when the veil between life and death was weak and the hills ran red with the blood of human sacrifice. But don't worry about that, it's harvest time! The stalks in the field will be cut down and collected! And this Sunday, we'll all gather to honor our "bountiful harvest" at THE CHOOSING, in the town square.
Christopher Pitt: Ah, sorry, I have to work late over in North Burlington.
Town Board: November is a time of giving thanks. To who? God? The great United States? Our friends and family? We will "give our thanks" to that which lies below this Sunday at THE CHOOSING. All are encouraged to attend.
Christopher Pitt: Seeing family. On the West Coast. Sorry.
Town Board: Merry Christmas and happy Holidays! Why, isn't it better to "give" than receive? Find out this Sunday at THE CHOOSING, Mr. Pitt. All Choices will be made. The fire will be kindled. The goat's fate decided. Afterwards we'll have a screening of The Polar Express at the library.
Christopher Pitt: Seeing family again. Sorryyyyyyyy
Town Board: New Year, New You? New Cannock is not a place for new things, despite what some think. New Cannock was created as a place for tradition. For the old ways to prosper. If you wish to "partake" in them, you must attend THE CHOOSING, this Sunday.
Christopher Pitt: I have a lot of laundry to do. In New Hampshire
Town Board: This February, we honor all African-American New Cannockites who have "passed through" their Sunday THE CHOOSING. Bit suspicious you won't do the same, Mr. Pitt.
Christopher Pitt: IT'S VERMONT ALL OF YOU ARE WHITE. Geeze, I really thought you'd do a Valentine's one. You know what? I'll go. I'll go. You can do whatever The Lottery, Wicker Man shit you want to me. Just let the emails stop.
Town Board: Boy, is there egg on our face! First of all, apology for thinking "quotes" is the same as bold. Some weird impressions there. Also sorry about the dark message about Samhain, my son Cody has a special interest in Celtic History and I let him write it and didn't really check it? Also, turns out referring to our town graveyard as "that which lies below" is a bit off-putting to some people? And we could've been more clear on our yule goat, and uh...congratulations to Mr. Pitt for winning a flatscreen TV, several tins of Mrs. Figg's cookies, and a new snowblower, and we'll take your spirited rant about the importance of phrasing under consideration.

Hellraiser is a 1987 British supernatural horror film written and directed by Clive Barker, and produced by Christopher Figg, based on Barker's 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart. The film marked Barker's directorial debut. Its plot involves a mystical puzzle box which summons the Cenobites, a group of extra-dimensional, sadomasochistic beings who cannot differentiate between pain and pleasure. The leader of the Cenobites is portrayed by Doug Bradley, and identified in the sequels as "Pinhead".
Hellraiser is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by David Bruckner, with a screenplay by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, from a screen story they co-wrote with David S. Goyer. Intended to serve as a new adaptation of the 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker, which served as the basis for Barker's 1987 film Hellraiser, it is a reboot of the titular franchise and the eleventh installment overall. A co-production between Spyglass Media Group and Phantom Four Films, the film stars Odessa A'zion and Jamie Clayton as Riley and Pinhead, respectively. Brandon Flynn, Goran Višnjić, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds, Selina Lo and Hiam Abbass also star in supporting roles.
The Cenobites are fictional extra-dimensional, seemingly demonic beings who appear in the works of Clive Barker. Introduced in Barker's 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart, they also appear in its sequel novel The Scarlet Gospels, the Hellraiser films, and in Hellraiser comic books published (intermittently) between 1987 and 2017. In the novel Weaveworld, they are mentioned in passing as "The Surgeons". The Cenobites appear in prose stories authorized but not written by Clive Barker, such as the anthology Hellbound Hearts edited by Paul Kane and Marie O'Regan, the novella Hellraiser: The Toll (plotted by Barker and written by Mark Alan Miller), and the novel Sherlock Holmes and the Servants of Hell written by Paul Kane. Paradoxically, the definition of the word "cenobite" is a member of a religious group living together in a monastic community such as a nun or a monk.

During a routine training mission in the Scottish Highlands, a small squad of happy-go-lucky British soldiers, including Cooper (Kevin McKidd – Trainspotting), led by Sergeant Wells (Sean Pertwee – Event Horizon, Gotham), plan to join a Special Operations unit... but when they arrive all they find is bloody remains – and only one survivor, C.O. Ryan (Liam Cunningham – Hunger, Game of Thrones). When the vicious perpetrators return, the group find themselves in mortal danger, but a mysterious zoologist, (Emma Cleasby – Doomsday, Lewis) miraculously saves them. Taking shelter in an abandoned farmhouse, with no means of escape, it’s only a matter of time before the attackers return...
