Patrick pauses. “Call it a lucky guess,” he says diplomatically and moves back to let Jonny in, even though Jonny’s attempt to break his door down with his fists totally gave Patrick a headache. Well, those plus the tequila shots he took last night. Whatever. The point is, he’s an awesome friend.

He parks, kills the engine, makes his way up the floors. There’s this weird moment when he’s standing in front of his door where his heart kind of—sinks, or something. It passes quickly though, and he shakes it off before walking inside. “Home sweet home,” he announces grandly, holding his arms wide open. He expects to feel—he doesn’t know, a flicker of warmth, maybe. Some sort of pleasure or sense of belonging. But he doesn’t—he doesn’t feel anything, really. He closes his arms, feeling irrationally stupid.
Jonny must be on a mission to both charm and confuse Patrick to death, because he insists that they eat at Jonny’s never-used dining table instead of slumping on the couch like usual.
"What?" Patrick said blankly. "Are you serious? Wait, why? "
"Yeah," Jonny said. "It's not like I actually try to cook something real everyday. Plus," he added, going an interesting shade of pink. "I think it'll be really nice." And, well, there's nothing Patrick can really say to that, is there?
So Patrick sits back, letting Jonny hustle and bustle about, setting the table like Patrick’ some girl he’s trying to impress, jesus. At some point Patrick cracks a joke asking if Jonny’s trying to get him to put out, but Jonny just looks at him blankly, way too distracted by the honest-to-god silverware he’s laying out on the table to register anything Patrick’s saying. “Quebec is the best Canadian province,” Patrick tries, which only gets him a distracted “hmm?” And that’s when he knows it’s totally hopeless, so he gives up, watching Jonny put on his little house-wife act.
Patrick offers to help, of course, because his mom raised him right. But Jonny just waves him off, brow furrowed in concentration and tongue poking out as he carefully ladles out portions of chili into the fancy soup bowls Sharpy-but-probably-actually-Abby had bought him for a Secret Santa exchange but he'd never used—or never that Patrick has seen, anyway, which is pretty much the same thing.
Don’t get him wrong, it’s all very—endearing. A little too endearing, he thinks, trying to ignore the way his stomach squirms and his lips turn up into an automatic smile when Jonny beams at him from across the table, having finally sat his ass down. Still, there’s only so much polite, grown-up dinner table talk he can do before he has to come out and ask it.
“So,” Patrick says finally, laying his spoon down onto the linen napkin—linen napkin—that Jonny had set out for them. “What the fuck is going on with you?”
Jonny looks up at him in surprise, his own spoon freezing en-route to his mouth. “Huh?”
Patrick gestures at the table. “The chili, Jonny. And the fancy silverware. And the fucking linens, what the fuck?”

“Thanks man,” he says, clapping Sharpy on the shoulder when they finally reach his apartment. “You know how I can get,” he jokes, knowing he’s using that tone that says “I know I’m a fuckup, let’s laugh about it together.” It worked on most of the guys, got them to laugh at the way Patrick would stumble home instead of going tight with worry like Jonny.
Sharpy doesn’t laugh. He looks back at Patrick steadily, if a little sadly and says, “I’m coming inside.” Patrick’s heart sinks, even though he didn’t really expect it to work on Sharpy anyway.
He looks down at the floor for a second and lets his shoulders drop. “Okay,” he says quietly before letting Sharpy fit his spare key into the lock and open the door. He watches Patrick go through before following, like he needs to see Patrick walk inside with his own eyes. It reminds him, devastatingly, of Jonny, and Patrick has to grit his teeth against the misery that rises up in his throat.
Sharpy doesn’t say much for a while, just making sure Patrick gets changed out of his grimy clothes and drinks some water. Just when Patrick’s started to cautiously hope he might get out of this whole thing unscathed, Sharpy aims a hard look at him and tells him to sit down on the sofa. For a fleeting moment, Patrick considers making a mad dash towards his bedroom and locking himself inside until Sharpy’s forced to leave. But he’s about 95% positive any scenario that involves him moving his limbs at anything but achingly slow speeds right now would result in him tumbling face-first into the floor, so he stifles a sigh and takes a seat on the far end of the sectional.

Or at least maybe he can get Sharpy lecturing instead. He can handle that.
Sharpy, though, for all his idiotic charm in the locker room, is smarter than people give him credit for—Patrick thinks they’re alike, in that way. Sharpy just stares at him silently, expectantly, the quiet between them dragging on so long it’s starting to make Patrick shift uncomfortably in his seat, a phantom itch starting across his skin. “What do you want me to say?” Patrick says finally. Mostly because it breaks the silence, which was starting to get unbearable. But Patrick realizes he genuinely wants to know the answer.
Sharpy’s still quiet, so Patrick hazards a glance at him out of the corner of his eye. He’s still staring, still waiting. Patrick sighs, head tipping forward. “Come on, Sharpy. You already know. Same old shit that I always do,” he says, not registering the surprising venom in his voice until he finds his mouth twisting around the words. The venom’s not directed at Sharpy, though. Patrick can tell that Sharpy knows from the frown that crosses his face, more rueful than angry. “I’m a fuck up,” Patrick says, voice clear and loud and a little bit victorious, because there’s a sick pleasure at being able to say it, something freeing about the immutable truth of it.
He looks back at Sharpy, expecting to see another sad expression on his face at Patrick’s bold acceptance of his utter failure to be a decent human being. Sharpy doesn’t look sad, though. A little mad, maybe, eyes going flinty and mouth pulling tight at the corners. Finally, he shakes his head. “Not good enough,” he says, voice hard.
Patrick doesn’t know exactly what to say at that, mouth opening and closing a few times before he pulls himself together. “That’s kind of the whole point,” he says, going for a joke that might’ve worked if he’d said it about four seconds earlier and with a smirk on his face rather than the weird grimace he’s pretty sure he has going on right now. God, he can’t even do the whole “devil-may-care-schtick” properly anymore—he’s even fucking up being a fuck up. That’s a new low.
“It would make it a lot easier if you actually were a fuck up,” Sharpy says, leading the conversation for the first time that night. Patrick lets out a snort that turns into a bitter, incredulous laugh the more he processes Sharpy’s ridiculous words.
“How can you say that, after the way I’ve acted over the years?” he asks, finally turning his whole body towards Sharpy. “After the way I acted tonight, even though Jonny—Fuck, how much more of a fuck up can someone be?” His voice is hoarse by the time he’s finished speaking, frustration making his throat tight. He’s leaning forward towards Sharpy, every line of his body asking for an answer that would make sense, even though one doesn’t exist. He’s sure of it, positive he’s stumped Sharpy. He waits to see him open his mouth to try to counter Patrick before having to close it because there’s nothing to say.
Instead, Sharpy responds fast, easily. “In order to be a fuck up, you’d have to stop caring,” he says. “Stop giving a single fuck about what you were doing and who it was hurting. And not caring has never been your problem, Peeks.” There’s not a single ounce of doubt in his voice. “Your problem has always been that you care too much,” he finishes.
It gets a little hard to breathe, after that. Patrick looks down at his hands, still dirty from groping at the pavement. It feels like it had been years ago that he’d been sitting on that curb instead of just a few hours. He clenches his hands into fists.
“I don’t know how to be what he needs,” he confesses quietly, unable to fully look at Sharpy when he says it. He settles for aiming the words somewhere near his right collarbone. “I can’t—I’m not what he needs,” he says, the words making something queasy coil in his stomach, nothing to do with the alcohol.
“Shut the fuck up.”
Patrick’s head shoots up, more surprised by the words than the tone—Sharpy’s not angry. Frustrated, yes. But also—fond, surprisingly. And a little sad. Patrick figures the question is written all over his face, because Sharpy lets out a suffering sigh before schooling his features into an exaggerated mask of patience. “Is your name Jonathan Toews?” he asks slowly, like he’s talking to Maddie or Sadie—though with not nearly the same degree of sweetness.
Patrick raises a brow. “No?” he responds, unsure where Sharpy is going with all of this. Sharpy nods like Patrick’s said something profound.
“So who the hell are you to say what Jonny needs, Mr. Not-Jonathan-Toews?” Sharpy says, raising a hand to silence Patrick before he can start to argue. “Only Jonny knows what he needs. And Jonny needs you. Always has, but now more than ever.”
He says it like it’s simple. And in an abstract way, Patrick supposes it is. But reality is a hell of a lot more complicated than that. Maybe Jonny does need him—the version of him that’s on top of his shit. But he’s not that guy. Sometimes he is, but not always. Not even often. The thought of telling Jonny he’s going to be there for him through this the way he needs and then failing to follow through makes him feel so sick he’s half-ready to throw up again. Sharpy can probably see the whole emotional clusterfuck play out on his face, but he’s still looking at Patrick like it’s simple.
“I can’t—how am I supposed to—it feels impossible, Sharpy,” Patrick says, trying to give words to the stifling feeling that rises in his chest when he thinks about promising Jonny he’s got him, no-holds-barred. “Literally not fucking possible, like against all the laws of nature and existence. Against the fucking universe.” Patrick’s not enough of a self-pitying douchebag to not claim responsibility for his actions—he knows it’s his fault, when he messes up. That he’s actively making bad choices and nothing—not even the depth of his misery he’s feeling, or whatever-excuses them. But there’s still a small part of him that thinks that maybe messing up is a part of who he is—an inextricable part.
Sharpy, maddeningly, remains completely unperturbed. “You’ll do it because it’s Jonny,” he says, “And what’s something as small as defying the universe when it comes to Jonny?” The ‘for you’ part goes unsaid, but Patrick feels the implication anyway, lets it settle deep into his heart and raise a slight blush to his cheeks.

Jonny glances over at Patrick’s anthyrum with despair. “Un-fucking-belieavable,” he says shaking his head—because while Patrick is actually blessed by the God of Death, he’s pretty fucking good at getting plants to grow. Once again, the gods continue to make absolutely no sense.
“Cheer up, bud, at least you can uh, make it rain and shit,” Sharpy says. Jonny throws him a glare, but there’s no heat in it—they both know that’s not all Jonny can do.
“Shut the fuck up Sharp, or I’ll make it rain all over your precious hair,” Jonny says sweetly.
“As if you’d risk ‘disrespecting the gods’ by using your powers ‘so facetiously’,” Sharpy snorts, echoing direct words from stern speeches Jonny has given him and Patrick in the past for misusing their powers. He still edges away, though, Jonny notes with grim satisfaction.

It has also been a commercial success, having been downloaded over 100 million times on Android and iOS.
Gangstar Vegas is a third-person open-world action-adventure video game; the graphical perspective is capable of being panned. The game world may be traversed on foot or by vehicle. It is structured similarly to previous games in the series and by extension, to Grand Theft Auto and its numerous 'clones'. Pedestrians can be killed, primarily in order for the player to get collectibles, and vehicles can be destroyed. The overall game world is much larger, with Gameloft marketing it as 'Gangstar's largest open world'. In addition to the main story missions, players can freely roam and/or partake in several side-activities like gang wars, bank robberies, street racing and underground fighting tournaments. Property management is also present, allowing the player to gain income through businesses acquired during the course of the game. In keeping with the game's Las Vegas theme, casino minigames such as video poker, blackjack and slot machines were also introduced, along with several establishments such as a nightclub and convenience stores. There are over 80 missions consisting of action, shooting, racing, and thefts. The player can join 'parties' in the gang wars with flamethrowers, Molotov cocktails, grenade launchers, and many more lethal weapons.
A number of software updates were added to Gangstar Vegas after its initial release, among them a Saints Row-esque Gangstar vs. Aliens pack, and a Christmas-themed update adding new clothing and vehicles such as a rocket-powered sleigh. Also, the game has since been released as a free-to-play title, with bonus content available through microtransactions. Its frequent use of updating also received criticism from some fans and critics, who noted the lack of weapons, vehicles, and costumes, and the laggy graphics.
Professional MMA fighter Jason 'the Kid' Malone is bribed by the powerful Mafia boss Don Frank Veliano to take a dive in a match against Pietro Holston. Frank told Jason to fall in the fourth round but Pietro falls before Jason can take the dive. As a result, he is chased by Frank and his henchmen before Karen Olsen, the accountant and bodyguard of Vera 'Leatherface' Montello, arrives and helps him escape. Jason later works for the Montello queenpin, Karen and Eric (more commonly known as 'E-Man'), a pimp and drug maker-dealer, mostly in causing chaos against the Velianos.
Frank and his henchmen later storm Montello's celebration, capturing Jason and forcing him to work for the Velianos, including Benny, Frank's right-hand man, and mayoral candidate Rev. Winston 'Preacher' Goodman. Jason steals a boat, a seaplane and a helicopter for the Velianos, alongside fighting the Huevos, a Hispanic street gang. After crashing the Huevos' party, however, Jason finds out that the Velianos have kidnapped Karen and are forcing Vera to hand over her strip club, Fire and Vice, to Frank in exchange for Karen.
Jason helps the Montellos save Karen by stealing wire-tapping devices from a military base and planting it to pinpoint Frank and Karen's position. He later joins Eric and Vera to raid Frank's casino, where Karen is held. They then rescue her and escape Frank's soldiers, but at the cost of Vera sacrificing herself to stop reinforcements, out of remorse for having bribed Pietro to lose the MMA fight.
Enraged by Vera's loss, and the truth that Frank ordered her father's murder, Karen wants Jason out of the Mafia war. Jason saves her again from Veliano, convincing her to accept his help. Karen kisses Jason (it is also possible they make out in Jason's Whiptail, as the scene is faded out) before reclaiming Fire and Vice. Jason later sabotages Frank's villa, and uses the media (the only business in Vegas not controlled by Veliano) to mock the LVPD's incompetence (Frank has also bribed the police).
Finding that Benny has been arrested, Frank seeks to remove him from his system. Jason rescues Benny as Veliano's mob intercepts the police convoy. Benny has photos of Goodman's debauchery, who is then threatened by Jason in order to make the mayoral candidate turn against Frank, otherwise the photos are leaked. Cornered and betrayed, and with the FBI on his tail, Frank tries to flee Las Vegas with his money. Jason confronts him on the Wrecking Ball Hotel Casino Tower (a parody of Stratosphere Las Vegas) with a helicopter, only to have Frank shoot at him, leaking the helicopter's fuel tank in the process. Jason defeats Frank in a fistfight, but the latter pushes the trolley of money onto him, almost making him fall off the building. Jason lights up the petrol and throws it onto Frank, setting the fallen mafia boss on fire and falling to his death, and parachutes onto Karen's Störer (a parody of the Koenigsegg CCX).
The game received mixed reviews upon release, earning a score of 61 out of 100 at Metacritic.TouchArcade gave Gangstar Vegas four stars out of five in a review, called the game 'open-ended, violent, destruction-filled fun' and praised the game's graphics, but criticised the 'hit and miss' voice acting, controls and technical issues. A more critical review came from Pocket Gamer, who viewed the game as misogynistic and bemoaned its control scheme and lack of polish, stating 'where its inspirations - the likes of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - are filled with exciting set pieces, interesting characters, and fun gewgaws, Gangstar Vegas is a sloppy, empty experience full of hollow-eyed caricatures.'

Having been a user of Reunion in the past (way back when it was available on PC), I can see why a number of people have changed to Mac simply to still be able to use Reunion. As always, the program has a very clean look and is easy to navigate.

Reunion is genealogy software made by Leister Productions, Inc., a privately held firm established by Frank Leister in 1984 located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The company operates as a genealogy (family tree) software developer exclusively for macOS and iOS. Reunion was initially a Macintosh application, programmed in Apple's HyperCard. Version 4 was available for Windows and Macintosh until the Windows version was sold to Sierra in 1997.
Reunion provides methods to create, manipulate and generate reports about a family history. It has the capability to produce charts depicting family relationships and the ability to produce Web pages for publishing a family history online. Reunion can also be used to gather family statistics. It allows integration of images and movies into Reunion family files.

Reunion 12 was updated in May 2018. New features include a new Duplicate Check, further improvements to syncing with Reunion’s mobile app 'ReunionTouch' for iOS, a new Citations List, improvements to Sorting, and a number of other upgrades.
Reunion 11 was announced in April 2015. New features include better syncing with Reunion’s mobile app, Book creator to automatically generate PDF books, improved editing, and 'on-the-fly' relationships identification.
Reunion 10 was announced in May 2012. New features include web searching, mapping of places, a tree view, a nav bar and a sidebar, image dragging from a web browser, side-by-side matching and merging people, and graphic relationship charts.
Reunion 9 was announced on March 2007. This version became a universal binary Cocoa-based application, which runs under OS X. New features include Unicode support and a less 'modal' design, allowing index and source windows to remain open for easier access.
Reunion 8 was announced on September 2002. This version became a Mac OS X native application, providing users of OS X and prior versions of the Macintosh operating system the ability to utilize the software. Charting was significantly enhanced with the move to Reunion 8.
Reunion 7 was announced in May 2000 and among the changes seen at this time was the integration of SuperChart into a single Reunion application and the ability to have multiple family files open at one time.
Reunion 6 was announced on November 1998 and saw the genealogy software change to include pictures into the family card view and introduced the Match & Merge tool that can be used to detect and remove duplicate records in the family file.
Reunion 5 was announced on September 1997 and saw the introduction of drag and drop capabilities when working with the family card. Editing also became easier with start of tabbed windows to allow for faster, more efficient data entry.
Reunion 4 was the last version available for Windows.
