Yesterday I joined some of my colleagues from the New England Watercolor Society for one of their "Brushes With Nature" plein-air outings. We were on Boston's Charles River Esplanade, and I chose the Arthur Fiedler bust across the lagoon from the Hatch Shell.

I haven't done a lot of plein air the last few years -- the only painting I did last year was at Park Hill Orchard in Easthampton last September. So I'm rusty and kind of unhappy with this, especially the sky and the foliage. Also, I've discovered that the masking-fluid marker I used picks up any paint layers that had been previously laid down, so Dr. Fiedler has some white highlights where I didn't mean him to.

It was raining on and off so I decided to just go to the Museum of Science instead of all the way to the JFK Library. They played the Jurassic Park theme on Tesla coils! Then I headed down the river to break in the new bike on the Esplanade paths and detoured to the Christian Science Plaza to sit by the reflecting pool and read for a while. On the way back, I stopped near MIT to grab some groceries and watch the Charles River sailboats.

Exploring Boston on Two Wheels: My Cycling Experience with Breeze Rider EBike

Boston is a city filled with history, culture, and exciting sights to see. As a first-time visitor, I wanted to explore the city in a unique way and get some exercise in the process. So, I decided to buy an e-bike from Breeze Rider Ebike and take a cycling tour around Boston. In this post, I'll share some of the highlights of my trip and provide tips for anyone interested in exploring Boston on an e-bike. 

Preparing for the Trip:

Before my trip, I did some research on the best routes to take and the most popular sights to see in Boston. I found that the city has a lot to offer for cyclists, including bike-friendly paths and scenic routes. I decided to buy a fashionable fat tire e-bike from Breeze Rider Ebike because I heard great things about their bikes and wanted to have an enjoyable ride without getting too tired.

And it was a joy to ride through the streets and take in the sights.

I then made my way to the Boston Common, the oldest public park in the United States. This 50-acre park offers a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. And it was a pleasure to ride through the winding paths and tree-lined paths. From there, I continued on to the Back Bay neighborhood. It is known for its wide, tree-lined boulevards and Victorian brownstones.

Highlights of the Trip:

One of the most memorable moments from my cycling trip was the view from the top of the Bunker Hill Monument. This 221-foot-tall obelisk offers panoramic views of Boston and the surrounding area. Although it was a bit of a climb to get to the top, the view was well worth it.

Besides, it was also exciting to visit Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. I'm a huge baseball fan, so it was a treat to see the historic ballpark up close and take in the sights and sounds of the game.

Riding with Breeze Rider E-Bike:

The Breeze Rider Ebike made my trip a lot more enjoyable and allowed me to explore more of the city without getting too tired. The fashionable fat tire electric bike had a comfortable seat and handlebars, making for a smooth ride. The pedal-assist function was also a great help when tackling steep hills or navigating through traffic.
