This is the first and last I will say of it. And no I will not discuss it.
Not to meme on a legal and medical tragedy but there really is no other way to say it.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Men everywhere, if you aren’t outraged, you should be. US folks with uteruses, please stay safe. Especially if you happen to, say, engage in any acts of civil disobedience. Delete your period tracker apps, turn off your phone if you go out of state, leave it at home if you go to a protest (or whatever).
There are still states where abortion is offered and protected. Last I looked, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington still protect abortion rights by state law.
Keep an eye on your birth control and condom supplies. No I’m not kidding. They’ll be coming for other forms of birth control next. If there’s a way, stocking up might not hurt.
I wish I could get people who really need the help out of the county. I wish I could do more. But I’m stuck watching this play out from Canada and I’m scared for you, my neighbours.
I’m scared for me, too, because there are forces threatening to do the same here, to push abortion rights down to the provincial level. And I’m scared it won’t stop there. I’m scared it will go lower, I’m scared it will go to the county, city, even personal level. And it won’t be my person, the one having the procedure, it will be the doctor, the person performing it. A stranger with no stake in my health or wellbeing beyond professional lip-service. A person, like the politicians that are trying to rob you of your freedoms and healthcare, who will be imposing their beliefs (none of them really believe this. It’s a matter of control, it always has been) on you and your body.
Be heard, and I beg you to stay safe while doing so. I know it’s so, so hard to stay outraged, there’s so much going on and it’s been going on for so long. And unfortunately that’s the point. Those in control want you too tired to protest, to disobey, to stay angry.
STAY. ANGRY. Even if it’s quietly angry. Even if it’s Weapons of the Weak angry. Staying angry can be dragging your feet at work, or hey, maybe not even going to work. Staying angry can be discussing it with your friends and peers. Staying angry can be driving your friend who doesn’t have a car out of state for a Camping Trip. And wouldn’t it be nice if you kept your phones off the whole time, really reconnected with nature?
Make it clear there are more of you than there are of them.
You can get the care you need, or they can get the guillotine.

Funeral Friday: President Lincoln’s funeral process
When the 16th President of the United States passed away on April 15, 1865 after an assassination the country went into mourning. His funeral, procession and burial was a three week long event, with his coffin being seen by millions of Americans.
Firstly, Lincoln was embalmed, which in doing so made him the first public figure to be embalmed as it was a newer concept mainly used on the soldiers during the civil war. After this, his casket was lying in state in D.C on April 18th and 19th, in the east room of the Whitehouse where hundreds flocked to say their goodbyes. His wife, First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln was too grief stricken to attend the services. Next, The casket was taken to the Capitol Rotunda on the 20th for a prayer service for his cabinet men.
After, on April 21 at seven in the morning, the casket would arrive at the train station for Lincoln’s “Funeral Train” from Washington to Illinois, passing through 7 states along the way, with its final stop at the cemetery where he would be laid to rest. This was the first funeral procession of its kind, with millions being able to pay respects and mourn as the casket passed. This was a multi car train that held multiple guests- friends, family and officials. The train ride took from April 21st to May 4th.
The first stop was in Baltimore, Maryland on April 21st at the Merchant’s Exchange Building- where 10,000 people showed to pay their respects. The viewing was from noon to 2pm, and all businesses would be closed for those two hours giving everyone an opportunity to say their goodbyes. The train would depart at 3pm and make way to the next city, arriving at 8:30pm
In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at the State Capitol there was actually two viewings, one on the 21st until midnight, the next day on the 22nd from 7am until 9am. Here a total of 40,000 people would bear the rain for a viewing.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was the next stop, arriving on the 22nd at 4:50pm. The viewing would be in Independence Hall, and inside the same room the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. 300,00 would show up for this, waiting several hours though some would not even make it inside the building to see the casket. And, for this part, there was also a private viewing on top of the public viewing. the private viewing took place at 10 pm on the 23rd til 1pm on the 24th, and then the public was at 6am on the 23rd until 1:17am on the 24th.
Onto New York City, where the train arrived on April 24th- then the casket made way to the City hall, with the viewing from 1pm on the 24th until 11:40am on the 25th. A total of 1,000,000 would attend this viewing- and a then 6 year old Theodore Roosevelt watched from the window of his grandfathers house as the procession passed by on its way to the hall.
Arriving next in Albany, New York on the 25th at 10:55pm, the viewing was at the Old Capitol where a total of 60,000 viewed the casket from 1:15am to 2 pm. About 4,000 people would come every hour during the viewing.
Next was Buffalo, New York. Here the viewing was from 10:30 am to 8pm at St. James Hall. A grand total of 100,000 would attend. The train would then depart at 10pm to the next station and city.
Cleveland Ohio would be the next stop for the funeral train, arriving at Euclid Street train station on April 28th at around 7am. Then, the casket would be placed at Public Square in an outdoor pavilion for viewing from 10:30am to 10pm with an overall turnout of 150,000 coming to pay respects.
Moving onto Columbus, Ohio an April 29th- here a total of 100,00 would flock to the Statehouse for the viewing which took place from 9:30am to 6pm. Many would travel from the different countrysides around Ohio, as well as Kentucky.
The following day on April 30 in Indianapolis, Indiana- even rain couldn’t keep away the roughly 100,000 that would show up for the viewing at the state’s Capitol building. This was a bit sentimental for Lincoln history, as it’s where he spent a lot of his childhood.
Chicago, Illinois was the next stop, where 125,00 attendees viewed the remains at the Old Chicago Courthouse. This viewing began on May 1st at 5pm, and ended on may 2nd at 8pm. After the viewing, a procession by torchlight led Lincoln back to the train, where it went on to its final stop.
Arriving at 9am on May 3rd in Springfield, Illinois- here only 75,000 where there to view the former president at the Representative Hall at the states capitol. This was considered Lincoln’s hometown, so many mourners in attendance where former neighbors, colleagues and others that have knew him a bit more personally.
When it came time for burial, Lincoln was entombed in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois on May 4 1865. Over time, his remains would be moved 17 times between 1865-1901 and his coffin would be open 5 times. In 1876 there was even an attempted theft of the casket, though the plan was not fulfilled.

They also do stump grinding, which means they get rid of the stump left behind after the tree is removed. They are fully licensed and insured, so you can be sure that your property is in good hands. Spotted lanternfly is once again a pest experts say LCOs should keep an eye on. (Photo: arlutz73 / iStock / Getty Images Plus / Getty Images) Aaron Hathaway Aaron Hathaway Technical services manager in turf and ornamentals Nufarm The spotted lanternfly (SLF) is a fast-moving insect pest, but it fortunately isn’t as devastating to its hosts as some other pests like emerald ash borer. It was first found in the U.S. in 2014 in Berks County, Pa., and made its way to New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and seen in Michigan. SLF is more of a nuisance pest to trees but can devastate crops like hops, grapes, and others. It has many hosts on which they feed by piercing through plants and sucking the sugar-rich sap. They leave a wake of secreted honeydew, which attracts bees, wasps and other insects and promotes the growth of sooty mold, which can cover plants, patios, cars and anything else underneath heavily infested hosts. Matt Wilkinson Matt Wilkinson Proprietary products manager Albaugh Specialty Products Doveweed is a weed primarily found near the Florida coast but has been emerging further north and more inland. This annual is often mistaken for Virginia buttonweed and can be difficult to kill. Split applications in February or March and again in April or May can help alleviate the potential of preemergent misses. Atrazine, S-metolachlor, dimethenamid, and indaziflam provide the best activity for preemergent options. Early identification for postemergent applications is essential as young doveweed plants can be difficult to differentiate among desirable warm-season grasses. Young leaves are most susceptible to chemical controls and postemergent combinations, including 2,4-D, dicamba, MCPA, sulfentrazone and metsulfuron tend to work best. However, multiple applications may be necessary. Jared Hoyle Jared Hoyle, Ph.D. Turf and ornamental territory manager Corteva Agriscience One emerging pest that LCOs should know about in 2024 is Japanese stiltgrass. As a summer annual that comes back year after year, populations and the seed bank can increase year-to-year if not controlled. LCOs must apply preemergent herbicides before germination. If LCOs apply preemergent herbicides too late, they will have to move to a post-application product. Dithiopyr, commonly utilized in weed control programs, can control postemergently at early growth stages as well as preemergence control thereafter. Bobby Kerr, Ph.D. Bobby Kerr, Ph.D. Technical service manager Quali-Pro Bermudagrass mites (Eriophyes cynodoniensis) have become an increasing issue in the U.S. over the last several years. Mites are difficult to diagnose due to size (adults are 0.006 to 0.008 inches or 0.16 to 0.21 millimeters long). They are cigar or banana-shaped, translucent and have two legs. Development from egg to adult takes about two weeks and each female lays about 50 eggs. The combination of tiny size, quick life cycle and females producing a large number of eggs makes diagnosing and controlling bermudagrass mites challenging. A powerful storm in the eastern United States resulted in 2 deaths and 1.1 million people losing power.
On Monday, a severe storm swept across the eastern United States, including hail and lightning, resulting in at least two deaths, thousands of US flights being canceled or delayed, and over 1.1 million households and businesses losing power. A tornado warning was issued for the Washington D.C. area by the National Weather Service, with a special statement warning of the significant threat of destructive and localized damaging hurricanes, the possibility of large hail, tornadoes, and even strong tornadoes.
The storm had a widespread impact, with tornado watches and warnings issued across 10 states from Tennessee to New York. The National Weather Service reported that over 29.5 million people were under tornado watch on Monday afternoon.
According to the Anderson County Coroner's Office, a 15-year-old boy in South Carolina was tragically killed when a tree fell on him as he arrived at his grandparents' house during the storm. In Florence, Alabama, a 28-year-old man was fatally struck by lightning, as reported by WAAY-TV.
Based on data from flight tracking service FlightAware, as of Monday evening, over 2,600 flights had been canceled and nearly 7,900 flights were delayed in the US. Many of the cancellations were at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, which was recovering from disruptions caused by Sunday's storm.
The Federal Aviation Administration mentioned that flight routes were being adjusted to divert planes away from the storm over the East Coast.
Meteorologist Chris Strong from the National Weather Service described it as one of the most significant severe weather events to affect the central Atlantic in some time, in a Facebook live briefing.
The storm was expected to hit major population areas later in the afternoon and early evening, prompting federal workers to leave work early to avoid being stuck in their cars during high winds, hail, and tornadoes. Residents were strongly advised to seek shelter in sturdy buildings, either at home or at their workplaces.
The storm led to the postponement of a Major League Baseball game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Washington Nationals. In Maryland, the National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings for Tuesday after a rapid rainfall of 4 inches (10.2 cm).
According to outage data, by evening, over 1.1 million customers were without power in states along the storm's path, including Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia. The Knoxville Utilities Board tweeted that the damage to their Tennessee service area was extensive and widespread, potentially taking several days to restore.
News media reported that trees and power lines collapsed in several states, falling onto roads and some homes. In Westminster, Maryland, a row of utility poles fell, as reported by WJLA-TV. In Hockessin, Delaware, the roof of at least one residence was blown off, according to 6ABC-TV.
"We saw the clouds come in, and you could hear a rumbling in the distance," said Tom Tomovich, whose home was damaged. "We went into the house, and we're on the first floor, and before we could even blink, the wind was coming in the back of our house."

Low Car Insurance – Who Needs It?
Tumblr media
With insurance price rising this year, it’s become essential to find low car insurance packages. If you compare monthly premiums from different companies, you’ll notice significant differences. So, if you want to save some money on your insurance, it’s better to know which company offers the cheapest package for your vehicle.
In this guide, you’ll learn about affordable auto insurance, companies that offer this service, and if such a policy is suitable for you.
WHAT IS LOW COST INSURANCE FOR CARS?
Low cost insurance is good ol’ auto insurance that is more affordable compared to the traditional packages. It’s not a separate program that will help you save tons of money on insurance. Instead, it’s a cheap insurance policy that still includes full coverage.
The latter is particularly important for those who want to reduce their monthly payments. More often than not, companies advertise their insurance as “cheapest”, when in reality, they’re simply the coverage. It’s important to avoid falling for such tricks because such insurance might end up costing more.
Therefore, you should choose a company that has low cost auto insurance and offers full coverage. You should also read the terms carefully and figure out what exclusions apply. We all hate reading paperwork, but trust me, it’s worth it. Overwhelming clauses and terms usually hold important information for us. By being attentive from the very beginning, you can easily start cutting your insurance costs.
WHICH COMPANIES OFFER LOW COST AUTO INSURANCE?
Tumblr media
Several companies offer low cost car insurance, including Erie, State Farm, USAA, Metromile, Geico, and Progressive. Not all of them are made equal, however.
Erie
According to ValuePenguin, Erie offers the cheapest auto insurance. Their six-month rate is $195 on average, which is quite surprising considering the prices from other companies. Their monthly premium includes basic coverage. If you go for full coverage insurance, you’ll pay $806 in six months. However, their rates are still lower compared to other companies.
Unfortunately, Erie is only available in 12 states and D.C., including Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. If you live in one of these states, you can certainly enjoy their cheap car insurance.
State Farm
For a minimum coverage policy, State Farm will charge you approximately $309 in six months. If you choose the full coverage package, that number will increase to $812. They don’t offer the cheapest insurance, however, they have other advantages.
Namely, State Farm is the company where your premium won’t skyrocket after the accident. They’ll probably increase your premium by 24%, which is the cheapest increase you can get. In other companies, your premium will grow by at least 42%.
USAA
USAA offers the cheapest auto insurance, however, they only cater to the military, veterans, and their families. Their average rate for six months is $224. If they provided insurance for everyone, their affordability would be really hard to beat.
Metromile
Metromile is a great choice for those who don’t drive a lot. They have specific insurance policies for low-mileage drivers. Since they calculate monthly premiums depending on your mileage, their rates seem to be fairer.
Similar to Erie, this company isn’t available nationwide. You can only use their insurance if you live in Arizona, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or Washington.
Geico
If you have a poor credit score, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you should pay tremendous premiums. You can simply use auto insurance from Geico. As it turns out, this company has the cheapest insurance for people who’ve decreased their credit score substantially.
Progressive
According to NerdWallet, Progressive is also among the companies that offer cheap insurance packages. Even though their coverage and rates vary from one state to another, their prices still fall into the affordable category. Plus, Progressive has the cheapest rates after DUI (Driving Under Influence).
If you want to know what your premium will be, you can get low rate car insurance quotes. That way, you’ll get the chance to compare individual prices and be prepared when you visit the insurance company.
HOW DO COMPANIES CALCULATE INSURANCE PREMIUMS?
Insurance companies usually calculate premiums by assessing how much risk your driving contains. In other words, they figure out how likely you are to get into the accident and ask for a claim. By considering factors such as annual mileage, your age, credit score, your driving record, location, and the type of the car, they get the chance to evaluate the risks.
Annual mileage
Even though insurance companies don’t usually care about the overall mileage of your vehicle, they certainly want to know your annual mileage. The reason is simple – the more you drive, the higher the risk that you’ll end up in a car crash. Therefore, they usually ask you to evaluate your annual mileage when you’re filling for the insurance.
Naturally, some insurance companies check your mileage to verify the numbers you provided. But what happens if you exceed the annual mileage limit? Some companies might increase your premium, while others will leave everything the same. Either way, your annual mileage will play a role in calculating your monthly payments.
Age
Insurance companies also consider your age while counting your premium. Low cost insurance for young drivers is usually more expensive. Since inexperienced motorists are more likely to cause accidents, their premiums are usually significantly higher. Don’t worry – you’ll stop paying more once you’re older than 25.
Credit score
A poor credit score also affects your premium in a bad way. Your rates could increase up to 100% depending on the company.
Driving records
The history of accidents will also influence your insurance rates. If the company sees that you’ve been in car crashes before, they will assume that you’ll do the same thing in the future. Similarly, they’ll examine your claim history and charge you more if you filed claims frequently.
Location
If you live in a dangerous area or an expensive state, your insurance premium will be higher. In places where thefts and vandalism are common, the rates for car insurance are swollen.
The type of the car
Finally, the insurance companies will calculate your monthly payments depending on the model, make, and year of your vehicle. It goes without saying that the owners of luxury sports vehicles pay way more than those who drive affordable models.
WHO CAN GET LOW COST CAR INSURANCE?
Tumblr media
Low cost auto insurance doesn’t have any specific criteria – anyone can get it if it’s available in their location. If you don’t use the vehicle frequently or you can’t afford to pay your current premium, you can always shop around and find ways to decrease monthly payments.
The only exception is the USAA as they provide services only for the military, veterans, and their family members. Other than that, you should be able to switch to more affordable insurance.
I understand that companies that offer the cheapest packages aren’t available everywhere. In that case, you can maintain a high credit score, drive safely, and avoid filing for a claim unnecessarily. That way, you’ll build trust and eventually diminish the costs of auto insurance.
CHEAPEST STATES FOR AUTO INSURANCE
According to the recent data, the cheapest states for auto insurance are Maine, New Hampshire, Ohio, Virginia, Wisconsin, Idaho, North Carolina, Vermont, Indiana, and Iowa. In these states, rates vary from $865 to $1,071 annually.
Individual premiums will still vary, however, you shouldn’t expect significant fluctuation if you’re an average driver.
No matter where you live, it’s always reasonable to compare prices before you choose the insurance company. Don’t forget to pay attention to the coverage, as it determines the cost of the premium.
DOES MILEAGE AFFECT INSURANCE RATES?
The overall mileage doesn’t affect insurance rates, however, the annual mileage does. Therefore, low cost car insurance price will also vary depending on how much you drive.
As I’ve mentioned above, insurance companies always ask you about your annual mileage. At the end of the year, some of them might even examine the miles you traveled. Trust me, insurance companies know how to check mileage in a car. They might inspect the vehicle with specific equipment or install some sort of telematics device. Either way, lying about mileage to reduce insurance costs isn’t the best decision.
HOW DO PEOPLE USE A MILEAGE BLOCKER TO GET LOW RATE CAR INSURANCE?
Instead of lying about the odometer reading, some people learn how to change mileage to get low rate car insurance. Specifically, they buy the mileage blocker and use it to pay less for auto insurance.
But how is that possible? – you see, the mileage stopper is a module that prevents your car from recording the distance. You can activate it in motion effortlessly. Even though it’s an ethical device that manufacturers created for testing purposes, people still found ways to use this tool unethically.
Mileage blocker offers untraceable performance as it affects all control units. It has countless useful features, which is why some drivers choose to utilize it on public roads. You can always activate this tool in a controlled environment, however, it’s better to avoid using it while driving. For further details visit our costumer center.
FINAL TAKEAWAY
Low car insurance is worth checking out if you want to decrease your insurance costs. You can find it in the majority of the biggest companies, however, not all of them are available nationwide. Luckily, some states are still cheaper in terms of car insurance regardless of the company. By comparing quotes, you’ll certainly be able to find a suitable option.

What is a Payday Loan?
A payday loan is a type of short-term loan that can be issued at a store or online. It's repaid in a single payment on the borrower's next payday, or after income from another source is received.
These loans are often marketed as a way to help people with financial emergencies between their paychecks. However, they can lead to a vicious cycle of debt for those who can't repay them on time.
Payday loans are a type of short-term loan
A payday loan is a short-term, small-sum loan that's intended to be repaid on your next paycheck. They're a popular option for people who don't have good credit, but they can be costly and cause serious financial problems.
These loans have high-interest rates and can create a cycle of debt that's hard to break. They are also dangerous for people who have a low income or no credit history.
Payday loans are often offered by check-cashing businesses or finance companies that offer a range of consumer financial services. These companies are regulated under the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Act of 2010.
In some states, payday loans are illegal. Sixteen states--Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Vermont--and the District of Columbia outlaw payday loans.
The main reason people get payday loans is to cover recurring costs. This includes student loan payments, everyday transportation costs, and other expenses that come up on a regular basis.
To repay a payday loan, you write a postdated check or authorize the lender to electronically debit your checking account. The money is due on your next payday, generally two to four weeks from the date the loan was made.
Many payday lenders charge fees of up to $30 for every $100 you borrow. These fees add up quickly, resulting in an average annual percentage rate of almost 400% for a two-week payday loan, according to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Another way to avoid payday loans is to build up an emergency fund. If you save even a few hundred dollars, you can cover unexpected expenses such as car repairs or medical bills.
You can also reach out to a local community organization for free funds or to an alternative lender that offers lower interest rates. NerdWallet's database of local alternatives to payday loans can help you find the right solution for your situation.
In addition, be sure to shop around for a low-interest rate when you do take out a payday loan. You can do this by comparing interest rates, fees, and other charges.
They are issued at a store or online
In a nutshell, a payday loan is the name of a smallish cash loan (usually less than $1500) that can be borrowed from most bank and credit union branches. They can be obtained by presenting a photo ID, proof of address, and employment details, and they usually carry an interest rate of about 50%. The loan is usually repaid in one lump sum on your next payday or, more likely, within two weeks. The best way to get the most bang for your buck is to take the time to research which lenders are available in your local area. A quick Google search or a trip to your local bank branch should give you a few good recommendations. Alternatively, you could opt to use a comparison website to find the top payday lenders. The site will also tell you which lenders are regulated and the best prices for your money. The most important thing to remember is that you need to be honest with yourself and your lender to avoid getting into debt. To that end, it’s time to get your budget in order before you even think about a payday loan.
They are repaid in a single payment
Typically, borrowers repay payday loans in a single payment on or around the borrower’s next payday. The lender will either ask you to write a post-dated check for the full loan amount plus fees or it can electronically withdraw funds from your bank account.
While a payday loan may seem like a fast solution to an emergency, it’s important to remember that the interest on these loans is often high. A better solution would be to set aside extra cash each month to cover your expenses until you have an emergency that requires a larger amount of money. This will allow you to avoid paying high-interest rates on a payday loan and keep your credit score healthy. There are other options that can offer you a similar speed of cash, such as credit cards and pawnshops. You might also want to consider a local community organization that offers free funds to help you meet your basic monthly expenses, such as rent or utilities.
They are a form of credit
A payday loan is a form of credit that is issued at a store or online and that requires your signature to run a check or authorize an electronic withdrawal from your bank account. They are typically issued for up to two weeks, although some lenders can extend the loan up to a month, depending on the lender’s policies. Usually, you repay the full amount plus interest on your next payday, which can be up to one month after you receive the loan.
While they may seem like a quick fix, payday loans can quickly turn into a cycle of debt that leaves you paying fees and accrued interest every time you borrow money. Instead of seeking a payday loan, consider a personal loan or working with your credit union to get an affordable small-dollar loan. You can also consider reducing your expenses by eliminating unnecessary or unneeded items from your budget. By doing so, you will free up funds for emergencies, which could make you less likely to turn to payday loans in the future.

Frigid monster storm across US claims at least 34 lives
Tumblr media
BUFFALO: Millions of people hunkered down against a deep freeze Sunday to ride out the winter storm that has killed at least 34 people across the United States and is expected to claim more lives after trapping some residents inside houses with heaping snow drifts and knocking out power to tens of thousands of homes and businesses. The scope of the storm has been nearly unprecedented, stretching from the Great Lakes near Canada to the Rio Grande along the border with Mexico. About 60 per cent of the US population faced some sort of winter weather advisory or warning, and temperatures plummeted drastically below normal from east of the Rocky Mountains to the Appalachians, the National Weather Service said. Travellers' weather woes are likely to continue, with hundreds of flight cancellations already and more expected after a bomb cyclone - when atmospheric pressure drops very quickly in a strong storm - developed near the Great Lakes, stirring up blizzard conditions, including heavy winds and snow. Some 1,707 domestic and international flights were cancelled on Sunday, according to the tracking site FlightAware. The storm unleashed its full fury on Buffalo, with hurricane-force winds and snow causing whiteout conditions, paralysing emergency response efforts. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said almost every fire truck in the city was stranded Saturday and implored people Sunday to respect an ongoing driving ban in the region. Officials said the airport would be shut through Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service said the snow total at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport stood at 109 centimetres Sunday. Daylight revealed cars nearly covered by 6-foot snowdrifts and thousands of houses, some adorned in unlit holiday displays, dark from a lack of power. With snow swirling down untouched and impassable streets, forecasters warned that an additional 1 to 2 feet of snow was possible in some areas through early Monday morning amid wind gusts of 40 mph. Police said Sunday evening that there were two "isolated" instances of looting during the storm. Two people died in their suburban Cheektowaga, New York, homes Friday when emergency crews could not reach them in time to treat their medical conditions. County Executive Mark Poloncarz 10 more people died in Erie County during the storm, including six in Buffalo, and warned there may be more dead. "Some were found in cars, some were found on the street in snowbanks," said Poloncarz. "We know there are people who have been stuck in cars for more than 2 days." Freezing conditions and day-old power outages had Buffalonians scrambling to get to anywhere that had heat amid what Hochul called the longest sustained blizzard conditions ever in the city. But with streets under a thick blanket of white, that wasn't an option for people like Jeremy Manahan, who charged his phone in his parked car after almost 29 hours without electricity. "There's one warming shelter, but that would be too far for me to get to. I can't drive, obviously, because I'm stuck," Manahan said. "And you can't be outside for more than 10 minutes without getting frostbit." Ditjak Ilunga of Gaithersburg, Maryland, was on his way to visit relatives in Hamilton, Ontario, for Christmas with his daughters Friday when their SUV was trapped in Buffalo. Unable to get help, they spent hours with the engine running, buffeted by wind and nearly buried in snow. By 4 am Saturday, their fuel nearly gone, Ilunga made a desperate choice to risk the howling storm to reach a nearby shelter. He carried 6-year-old Destiny on his back while 16-year-old Cindy clutched their Pomeranian puppy, following his footprints through drifts. "If I stay in this car I'm going to die here with my kids," Ilunga recalled thinking. He cried when the family walked through the shelter doors. "It's something I will never forget in my life." The storm knocked out power in communities from Maine to Seattle. But heat and lights were steadily being restored across the US According to poweroutage.us, less than 200,000 customers were without power Sunday down from a peak of 1.7 million. Concerns about rolling blackouts across eastern states subsided Sunday after PJM Interconnection said its utilities could meet the day's peak electricity demand. The mid-Atlantic grid operator had called for its 65 million consumers to conserve energy amid the freeze Saturday. In North Carolina, less than 6,500 customers had no power - down from a peak of 485,000. Across New England, power has been restored to tens of thousands with just under 83,000 people, mostly in Maine, still without it. In New York, about 34,000 households were still without power Sunday, including 26,000 in Erie County, where utility crews and hundreds of National Guard troops battled high winds and struggled with getting stuck in the snow. Storm-related deaths were reported in recent days all over the country: 12 in Erie County, New York, ranging in age from 26 to 93 years old, and another in Niagara County where a 27-year-old man was overcome by carbon monoxide after snow blocked his furnace; 10 in Ohio, including an electrocuted utility worker and those killed in multiple car crashes; six motorists killed in crashes in Missouri, Kansas and Kentucky; a Vermont woman struck by a falling branch; an apparently homeless man found amid Colorado's subzero temperatures; and a woman who fell through Wisconsin river ice. In Jackson, Mississippi, city officials on Christmas Day announced that residents must now boil their drinking water due to water lines bursting in the frigid temperatures In Buffalo, William Kless was up at 3 am Sunday. He called his three children at their mother's house to wish them Merry Christmas and then headed off on his snowmobile for a second day spent shuttling people from stuck cars and frigid homes to a church operating as a warming shelter. Through heavy, wind-driven snow, he brought about 15 people to the church in Buffalo on Saturday, he said, including a family of five transported one-by-one. He also got a man in need of dialysis, who had spent 17 hours stranded in his car, back home, where he could receive treatment. "I just felt like I had to," Kless said. #Frigid #monster #storm #claims #lives Read the full article

The drive will be debilitating and exorbitant in light of the fact that you should fuel the vehicle and book a lodging. Also the danger you will put on the new vehicle; it could get into a mishap coming back or stall because of the lengthy drive.
Notwithstanding, assuming you recruit an auto transport organization, they will get a sense of ownership with the delivery cycle. They will likewise guarantee your new vehicle has the highest level of wellbeing and convey it safe and sound.
