Note
ooh may i ask about the naming of feanoriel istarniel?
Oh yes, absolutely! And I'm gonna subject you to my nonsense chapter notes for this as well (under the cut).
The long short of this is that Fëanor and Nerdanel, well into the future, have made up (after Fëanor's reembodiment) and they have another child - a daughter this time - and it's a fic that surrounds the House of Fëanor (and the rest of the House of Finwë) coming together to greet her properly.
It's the most concise fic I think I've ever planned and also features mentions of a lot of my ocs - it did start it's life as me attempting to write a fic where all my House of Finwë OCs appeared in some extent.
[Fic titles found here]
Ok so here are my chapter plan because I think they're hilarious in some places (although they are not that accurate to how the chapter actually ended up most of the time):
Chapter 1 – Maedhros
:Maedhros wakes up in Fingon’s room. They have a sweet moment reminiscing about pre-darkening Valinor and the Peace in Beleriand and comment on how everything is almost perfect now except that tensions are still high and Fingon comments on the lack of Míriel. They talk about Gil, Erien and Finbor. This is ended when they talk of Erien (Aistamíriel) and Finbor’s (Quarefinwë, Elbeon) naming and Maedhros remembers that they have Nínneth’s naming ceremony that day. Fingon reminds him that they live so close to Fornalondë (once Formenos) that it does not matter if they are a little late and tells him to come back to bed:
Chapter 2 – Maglor
:Maglor wakes alone in a forest glade, travelling to Fornalondë. He can hear talking and finds Daeron and Cantasië, Daeron sitting on a rock and Cantasië wading in the stream. They are talking about Maglor and their collective group of children (Elrond and Elros, Ivárë, Eärenissë). They stop when they spot Maglor and he sits on the river bank with his legs in the water, listening to them as Daeron begins to play his pipe. He takes a moment to introspect – is this how his Grandmother felt with two people who loved her so dearly (being Indis and Finwë)? He wonders why and how she could have possibly left them behind (and also her child):
Chapter 3 – Celegorm
:Celegorm is returning from a hunt with Aredhel, Edhellos and Huan (Huan!). Aredhel talks about how well Lómion has gotten on with Celebrimbor since rebirth and Edhellos talks about meeting Hallas and Inglor properly, and reuniting with Orodreth and Finduilas. They both talk about the guilt they have for abandoning their children in some form. They part ways, Edhellos and Aredhel planning on meeting their respective families before the ceremony. Celegorm tells Huan of talking to Rávassë – Quildatiris (now Calatír) and Vercafion (now Feredir) were elsewhere – and how she had blamed him for abandoning them after finding them and giving them a home – however, it should be noted that she is the only one who keeps the original name Celegorm gave her. Huan comforts him a little – but not too much, Huan knows he’s an idiot – and they come in view of Fornalondë:
Chapter 4 - Caranthir
:Caranthir is alone with his sister, asleep in a rocking basket weaved by Díriel. He is putting the finishing touches to Nínneth’s blanket for her naming ceremony. He thinks about his own daughter’s much smaller, naming ceremonies – Nibenaes’ by Lake Helevorn; and Niphredilien’s, just him – and how much they have all grown and changed. He puts the finishing touches to the blanket and folds it carefully onto the table. He ponders momentarily on how his sister will turn out. He is then disturbed by his daughters who have come to find him as they have arrived from wherever they have been:
Chapter 5 - Curufin
:Curufin is in the forge tidying because the preparations for Nínneth’s naming ceremony remind him of Celebrimbor’s which is making him sad because his baby is all grown up now :( and he is hiding from that. Celebrimbor is the one who finds him after returning from visiting his mother and stepmother in the mountains with Maeglin (who appreciated the mining operations). They talk about how Rinwendë is doing and talk also about Maeglin and Finrod and perhaps also touch on Sauron then make their ways upstairs to finish getting ready and help Fëanor and Nerdanel welcome guests:
Chapter 6 - Amrod
:Amrod is helping Argon set up chairs. They chat about how it’s so weird that there is going to be a brand new Finwëan in this new peaceful age. They are clearly close after being the only reborn Finwëans for so long – perhaps mention the fact Amrod is a healer and Argon is a painter. They are distracted from their conversation by Maedhros appearing and asking if they had seen Nerdanel. When they say no, he leaves. Amrod mentions that this must be the first time the whole family has been in one place since the Darkening. Argon says that Míriel will not be there but that yes, even Indis will be coming. They continue laying out chairs and tables and putting out name labels, talking about different family members and who they’re excited to see. Then Curufin appears and says Nerdanel has gone missing. Cliff hanger! (but not really because this is fluffy):
Chapter 7 – Amras
:Amras talks to his sister after he was given her. Caranthir had tried to get her to stop crying but had been unsuccessful and passed her onto Amras. He complains saying that he had never been that good with babies, even Hethest’s had taken a while to warm up to him. He then talks a bit about Doron, Eirien, Tathar and Neldor, and Meril. Then he talks about Beleriand and missing his twin. He then apologises, a little roughly, for complaining but his sister has quieted and is looking up at him with bright eyes. He gets a bit sappy. Celegorm skids past the room, saying that their mother has been spotted leading a horse upon which sits a mysterious figure:
Chapter 8 – Nerdanel
:Nerdanel is talking to the mysterious figure about how her sons were when they were little. The figure is quiet but clearly attentive. She mentions how much she missed them when they were parted and the figure talks for the first time, agreeing that being apart from her son was painful for her and that she empathises. Fëanor comes out to meet her, worried, not even taking note of the woman on the horse. They banter until the woman slips from the saddle and stands next to Nerdanel. She takes down her hood to reveal – le gasp! – Míriel:
Chapter 9 – Fëanor
:Fëanor is a little bit in shock. Indis, Míriel and Finwë have a conversation within Fëanor’s study and Fëanor paces the corridor outside with Nerdanel in attendance (their kids had been banished) until they finally open the door. Finwë says something vague and comforting; Indis says nothing but gently pats his shoulder/cheek; and then Míriel comes out. Her lovers hover before deciding to give her space with her son. They talk and it ends with a bell ringing out for sundown and their walk down the place where the ceremony is taking place:
Chapter 10 – Vanimeldë
:Epilogue of sorts with a little Nínneth. Short and sweet where she talks about the names she was given and how big her family is and how loved she is – or something similarly sweet and sappy:
So yeah! Lots happening, mostly fluff and introspection but a bit of drama because what would the House of Finwë be without it?
(I also don't show the party but I imagine there are like three fights, someone cries, there's a lot of drunk arguing/making out - it's chaos, no-one can control anyone)
And here are a few snippets:
1.
“I’m sorry, I was just…thinking…”
“About?”
Maedhros shrugs as best he can. “Mostly us. I’m glad we have time now.”
“All the time in the world,” Fingon agrees. “Until we have to get to your sister’s Naming.”
“Shit!” Maedhros begins to push himself up. “That’s today, isn’t it?”
Fingon makes a sound of complaint as Maedhros swings himself out of bed, and makes a futile attempt to pull him back. “Come back to bed Russo, or I swear I will make you!”
“Not today Órenya, today we have things to do!”
“Ugh, you’re impossible!”
Maedhros can hear a disgruntled flump of pillows behind him as he searches his dresser for the outfit he thought he laid out the night before.
“Finno, did you see where I put my tunic?”
When there’s no answer, Maedhros turns around to see Fingon lying in the bed with his arms crossed and looking very pointedly out the window.
“Oh Finno,” Maedhros says, sitting on the edge of the bed. “Don’t be immature.”
“I’m not being ‘immature’,” Fingon mutters but he still doesn’t look over, “I just think that if you loved me, you wouldn’t leave so early.”
“Melanya, we have all of eternity to sleep in. Just not today.”
Silence.
“Look, Quarefinwë and Aistamíriel are coming this morning and we would have to get out of bed for them anyway.”
This also garners no response and so Maedhros uses the most powerful weapon in his arsenal. “If you help me, I’ll make you honey pancakes.”
It takes only a moment for the indecision to clear from Fingon’s eyes.
2.
“Anyway,” Cantasië is frowning, “it’s depressing to think about your grandmother on what is supposed to be a happy day.”
Maglor hums something and lies back to stare at the sky. There are a few clouds up there that look almost soft to the touch.
“That cloud looks a bit like a cat,” he says, gesturing vaguely upward.
“Really?” Cantasië wades through the water with a splash and drops down beside him. “Where?”
Maglor points a bit more definitely. “Just there.”
She cocks her head. “No, it’s more like a rabbit.”
“It’s a cloud,” Daeron says. “It doesn’t look like anything!”
Cantasië sits up sharply. “Oh that’s just too far!”
Maglor covers his mouth to hide a laugh as Cantasië swings herself back up to her feet and challenges Daeron to a duel.
3.
There’s only Crinthammos now who could tell him if what he remembers is the truth and she is with whatever is left of her people – across the sea, perhaps, or more likely faded from memory until the breaking of the world.
Caranthir sighs.
Niphredilien’s naming he can remember a lot clearer. It had just been him: he had spent three days making a blanket from what remained of the craft supplies in his bag, and when he’d stood in the water with her in his arms, she’d been wrapped in the same purples and silvers as his sister.
“Sweet heavens, look at me getting all sentimental,” Caranthir laughs, a little bitterly, to himself. “Don’t get like me, nettë.”
The baby sleeps on, uncaring as her brother ties off the end of a gold thread, cutting it down and tucking it away.

Ivárë Filegol
I felt that a bit of a longer post on Ivárë and the general chaos of her family was in order, so here we are! I bring you this!
Ivárë Filegol is born to Avari parents Ilonweg and Monais in the seventh age - which is around 1980 - in the south of England. She is named by them Melilot in their language. (This mean Flower of Love in Gnomish, which is the language I use for the Avari a lot of the time).
Her mother, Monais, is afflicted very unwillingly with sea-longing that has got worse and worse over the many years she has tried to fight it. She and her husband thought that maybe having a child - something they were putting off for they didn’t want to bring a child to the undying lands - would help quell the feelings but it in fact magnifies it tenfold due to the stress it has on her and her soul.
Despite her best attempts, Monais eventually caves to it when Melilot is two years old. Ilonweg then has to decide whether to stay in Middle Earth without his one constant companion through the last millennia to raise their daughter or to go with her and to bring their very young daughter.
They have both heard stories of the undying lands and what they did to the Ñoldor who went there and while they - very old Avari - are fairly sure they can fight whatever it is that changed the other elves, they do not know what it would do to their young daughter.
This decision is solved for them by the introduction of a third party.
This third party is Maglor and Daeron. They are, at this point, on fairly good terms due to the decision that it is too difficult to stay angry at each other and that they are each other’s only company from the old world. They have taken to travelling the world together, committing identity fraud and playing music.
When Monais and Ilonweg see them, they are having a rather unhappy beer before they board their boat for Valinor (with Melilot, although they are unhappy about this) in a pub in Wales and it just so happens that Daeron and Maglor are playing music at the same pub.
Now Daeron and Maglor are being very careful at keeping their elvishness secret to humans but to another elf, it is perfectly obvious.
This, Monais argues, is the perfect opportunity. If they leave Melilot in their close vicinity, they’ll find her and see she’s elvish and so won’t give her to the authorities and would raise her, far away from Valinor.
Ilonweg is a rather bit less happy with this plan but his wife is very persuasive when she gets an idea and soon he is agreeing to go along with it.
They take a sleeping Melilot and, when no-one is watching, lie her in Daeron’s guitar case. Monais leaves almost at once due to the guilt of abandoning her child but the absolute surety that this is the right thing for Melilot in the long run.
Ilonweg stays until the pair of them stop playing for a break and Daeron finds the child in the guitar case. They are naturally rather concerned at first but, true to Monais’ thoughts, they do see she is elvish and talks about taking her to the police stop at once.
They do search around the pub a bit but they do not see Ilonweg who, after hearing them decide to look after his daughter if their search proved fruitless, had followed his wife to the shore.
Ilonweg and Monais leave Middle Earth that night and do not see their daughter again for fifty years.
After a few weeks with no sign of her parents, Maglor and Daeron make the decision to be her official parents. For the modern world they live in, they forge some paperwork, making her Ivy Felicity Smith, daughter of Martin and David Smith.
For Maglor’s Ñoldorin tradition, they do the traditional Ñoldorin naming ceremony (the ceremony which announces a new child in the family, of blood or not) thing of giving her a name each and something they had each made.
Maglor calls her Ivárifinwë (Finwë Who Protects in Quenya) which shortens to Ivárë (She Who Protects) and Daeron calls her Filegol (Small, Nimble Bird Running Free in Sindarin), which was a nickname he used to have for his sister. Maglor manages to wheedle his way into a forge to make her a thin chain to collect charms on when they travel and a silver charm of a tree and Daeron embroiders a head scarf in the traditional Doriathrin way.
For Daeron’s Sindarin tradition, they do the Sindarin thing of gifting something very dear of theirs that they would give up for her and creating her a braid for her hair that’s unique to her. Daeron gives her one of his flutes - the first flute he got from his mother when he told her he wanted to be a minstrel (this becomes one of her favourite instruments when she learns to play) and Maglor gives her a hairpiece that his father made him for his Naming Ceremony, which is a rather simple bird pin that sparkles when the light hits it just right and she wears it almost all the time despite Maglor being worried she’ll lose it.
When Ivárë is young, she grows up with Maglor and Daeron on a rather rundown farm in Wales, far enough away from people to avoid them noticing her strange growth patterns but close enough that should her birth parents reappear, they would be able to find her. There is a brief stint where they send her to school but she hates it so much, she gets herself expelled after a term by burning down a climbing frame.
When she is around 20 (about eight and a half in human years), Daeron and Maglor begin travelling again, this time with child in tow. She is subsequently well versed in many languages and writing systems and musical instruments and notations, among other things.
She is a naturally curious child who has a tendency to wander off after things that catch her eye, much to her fathers’ chagrin. She gets into trouble because of this a lot and is subsequently very good at getting out of trouble. And then getting back into trouble because she doesn’t stop.
She is around fifty when their life of flitting from place to place, getting money from busking and the occasional bit of fraud, gets turned upside down by the introduction of Cantasië Timpinen.
Cantasië is a Teleri woman, the daughter of a fisherman and one of Alqualondë’s greatest sailors due to the power of her voice, enough to tame the sea. She is also married to Maglor, their marriage bond having never broken down after Maglor’s departure due to lingering feelings. It is this and her skills at boating that mean that when the Valar want her husband to return to Valinor to join his recently reborn family, they choose her to go.
Cantasië, after the flight of the Ñoldor, had also adopted a young Vanya who’s parents seemed to have disappeared during the darkening. No-one will acknowledge them as theirs and so Elemmírë is adopted by Cantasië, who is the one who found them.
(It should be noted that this family does, in fact, have a monopoly on The Greatest Minstrels of the Quendi, and this is a running joke with everyone who knows them).
So Elemmírë and Elrond - who is also fairly determined to get his father back - join Cantasië on her journey, equipped with a fairly nondescript boat; absolutely no leads other than ‘he was singing on the coast, last I heard’; and a lot of misplaced faith in the fact they will find them.
There is absolutely no planning involved and it is complete chance that they meet each other in a port in Spain. It is night and Maglor plays his harp on the dock wall and Elrond hears and is reminded of dark nights when Maglor would comfort him and his brother with a soft lullaby and knows that it is him.
They appear at the same time as Daeron and Ivárë return from shopping and there is an argument as Cantasië is furious because Maglor got remarried without their bond breaking and without telling her; Daeron’s furious because Maglor hadn’t told him that he was already married; and Maglor is trying to explain that he actually thought the bond he has with Cantasië was broken because it was so dull and how he couldn’t imagine how she would still want him etc, etc.
Elrond, Elemmírë and Ivárë are standing on the side of this awkwardly because those are their parents and it’s always weird when your parents are arguing.
They sort of sidle away awkwardly when it’s been about ten minutes and it doesn’t look like it’s ending any time soon. Ivárë suggests that they go adventuring round the streets of the port town at night for sibling bonding reasons.
They have a remarkably chilled out first bonding experience despite Ivárë’s tendency to invoke the wrath of literally anyone she comes into contact with (probably Elrond’s influence) and they arrive back at the small house Ivárë, Daeron and Maglor are staying at exhausted but kind of happy to find their parents curled up on one of the beds, having apparently made up.
They stay in that place for another three months before Maglor finally agrees to go back so long as Daeron and Ivárë come too, which they do.
In Valinor, she lives at first with Daeron and Maglor and Cantasië in their house by the sea although she quite often goes off to stay with relatives who she loves to meet. It is actually when she goes hunting with her uncle Celegorm and aunt Aredhel that she meets her mother again, completely by accident.
She is hunting too and they end up sleeping near each other and talking about themselves and their lives and they both sort of put the pieces together.
Ivárë is not actually that angry (although she is a bit because she does have a few abandonment issues) because if she hadn’t been left, she wouldn’t have got her fathers or the family she has now. And she does understand where Monais is coming from.
It is with an open mind that she remeets her father and meets her younger brother and joins that side of her family too.
She also meets, in Tirion, a young elf by the name of Tecoluin who is a history nerd and hangs out with other young history nerds and they all collectively Do Not Trust the official sources like Pengolodh because they are constantly finding factual inaccuracies in them all the time but that’s something else entirely.
Ivárë and Tecoluin initially hang out because Tecoluin wants to ask questions about her family and Ivárë loves talking particularly about her family so it’s a win-win situation. Except after the first one or two meet-ups they have, they end up talking about things unrelated to Tecoluin’s work and are just hanging out.
Ivárë invites her to one of her concerts and then Tecoluin invites her to dinner and then they’re courting and then betrothed and then married in autumn.
It is like the wedding from Up where Carl’s family are few and politely clap and then Ellie’s family is just full on crazy except instead of Carl, it’s Tecoluin, and instead of Ellie, it’s Ivárë.
They get themselves a house in the country between Tirion and Alqualondë and they stay there, Ivárë quite happy in her composing and Tecoluin in her constant search for what actually happened (which is rather difficult when you are looking at the house of Finwë because all of them have wildly diverging tales that barely ever match up in any way).
A bit of a long post but I wanted to go a bit more into detail about Ivárë and her general chaos family and I love going off about my OCs.

Here is my entry for Day 2 of @tolkienocweek! Starring Maglor's wife Cantasië and her two younger sisters.
Love Letter
Dearest Makalaurë,
I hope you have been well since we parted. I arrived home in one piece and slightly earlier than expected, so there is no need to fret about me. I must say that while Tirion was beautiful and it was my dubious pleasure to meet more of your family (and I tease Hónya, your family is no more rambunctious than I am used to, I assure you) it is a relief to return to the familiar sounds and sights and smells of home.
Most certainly, I have already been doused in sea water thrice by various cousins and twice by my sister alone. I think she might have missed me, for I have only just managed to shake her off in order to write this letter.
I have had lots to do since my return, including giving my dear Súriellë a good once over, ready to sail when I get a moment to myself. Tomorrow I will be returning to the shop, for which I am certain Emil will be very grateful – I know she much prefers to be out on the water with Ambi than stuck inside.
We had a family dinner last night upon Emil’s insistence (she was just looking for an excuse to celebrate something and my return was reason enough). I may have slipped away from the general proceedings just after cake as I really wasn’t in the mood for my uncle Alassírë’s terrible jokes, only to be found moments later by my grandmother.
She seemed to be under the impression that I was moping – I was not, I should inform you: you are the one who mopes – and while many of her suggestions were for people who are moping (which I was not doing), one did stick out to me as recommendable for entirely separate reasons to the moping I was not doing.
Would you like to visit? It is only right, after all, since I spent so long in your home that you should get to do the same here. It would only be a month or two, I am under no misconceptions that you will be able to spare much more time at all, but it would be most pleasant to have you here.
I have asked both my mothers and they are more than happy to host you, so long as you pull your own weight (I did tell them that princes do not spend all their time at parties or suchlike and do have their own jobs but neither seemed to believe me), so if you can get away, I would welcome…
“Can you come and play with us?”
Cantasië looks up sharply, surprised at the sudden loud voice by her ear, and accidentally blots her pen nib against the paper. Both her younger sisters stand right next to her, having apparently snuck up while Cantasië was invested in her letter.
They both have intense pleading faces on.
“I’m writing.”
“Who to?” Solorávë asks, leaning forward and trying to read the page but Cantasië folds it over.
“That’s none of your business Rávë. Now buzz off and irritate someone else.” She waves dismissively and bends over the letter again.
“But the post goes tomorrow morning and you can’t think you are going to get to town in this weather!” Elenairë exclaims and, as if to punctuate this point, there is a giant fork of lightning that pulses through the sky followed almost at once by a roll of thunder. “You have an entire week to finish it so come and play with us.”
Cantasië rolls her eyes. “Maybe I am going to go through the storm.”
Elenairë’s face falls but Cantasië doesn’t have time to dwell on the matter before Solorávë is trying to read the letter over her shoulder and upside down.
Cantasië hurriedly turns the paper over. “Get out, you two,” she says, “I’ll play with you tomorrow.”
Solorávë falls back dramatically, one hand over her forehead, taking it all in good heart. “You wound me, nésanya! That you do not trust your own flesh and blood with the secrets of your admiration,” she says and has to dance out of the way of being almost hit with the heavy volume of ‘The Guide to Nautical Knots and Other Important Seafaring Skills’ that Cantasië was using to lean her writing on.
Solorávë’s expression falters slightly when her gaze lands on her other sister.
Elenairë stands in the corner, her arms crossed and with a dark scowl on her face. For a moment, it looks like she might say something scathing but then she just turns around and storms from the room.
“It’s only a game!” Solorávë calls after her, sounding thoroughly confused. “We can play something else, if you want!” She throws Cantasië an apologetic look before she gives chase. “I’m sure Emil…”
Her voice is drowned out by another roll of thunder.
Cantasië shakes her head, reorganising her things to continue with the letter and adjusting the blanket around her shoulders: it’s getting chillier in her window seat.
She does wonder at what has been upsetting their sister this past fortnight and sending her into such unpredictable moods but she is sure that it will come to light eventually.
There is no need to be too concerned about it.
…so if you can get away, I would welcome the company. And I would love for you to meet the rest of my family! They’re all rather eccentric but I am sure that that is right up your alley, considering your own relatives.
Plus, I need someone to accompany me on my new pipes – it is all well and good to give me such a lovely present and it is an utter joy to play but it would sound so much better with your violin joining in (I admit that I may have been getting just a tad spoiled with how much we played together).
I must sign this letter off early so that I have a fair chance of getting through the storm to the post office without getting blown off course. Please think about my offer.
I hope you stay well and that your brothers are not being too impossible in their teasing,
Your love, Cantasië
Cantasië signs the letter with a particularly generous swish of her pen and lets the paper dry as she packs away her writing kit – a present from Makalaurë’s father when she arrived in Tirion. It is a beautiful gift and she had felt rather embarrassed when she had only a simple mother-of-pearl dish to give.
Makalaurë had said that it was quite alright: his father had found the thing fascinating and that was enough for the present to be brilliant in his eyes. And that she had anything to give at all certainly contributed as Fëanáro had not been expecting such diligence on her part to keep up with Ñoldorin traditions.
She smiles slightly at the memory of how earnest Makalaurë had been, framed by the light of Laurelin and trying to very earnestly explain that it was really alright. It had been comforting to know that he had been clearly as nervous about the visit as she had been.
She tucks the sealed letter in her leather messenger bag and pulls on her oil coat and boots to brave the storm outside.
“I’m just off to town Emil, Ambi! I’ll be back in about half an hour!”
She doesn’t wait for an answer before she pulls the door open and braves the storm outside.

Um I would love to learn more about Ivare if you wanted to share!
I would love to!! (It got a bit long)
So, Ivárë came to be because I was clicking through links on Tolkien Gateway and she was described as one of the greatest elven minstrels. Now, she was said to be male but I felt that we had enough male minstrels and that we could do with a woman.
In my canon (she can change quite drastically in my AUs), she begins life as Melilot, the daughter of a Silvan couple who stayed in Middle Earth even as the elves departed but the mother got sea longing.
(Melilot is a type of yellow flower - in real life - often referred to as Sweet Clovers. Melilot translates quite literally to Yellow Flower in Sindarin)
The father didn’t want her to go alone but they also didn’t want to bring their daughter with them because of the fact no Silvan elf worth their stuff would trust Valinor.
They see Maglor and Daeron perform at a coffee shop somewhere and realise they are elves too. Ivárë is subsequently left in Daeron’s guitar case.
Daeron and Maglor - having pretty much got through their issues - work part time as travelling musicians and part time in whatever jobs they can get their hands on. Neither of them expect an actual child to just appear out of nowhere.
They almost ask if it’s anyone’s but then Maglor sees her ears and they make the logical leap that this was on purpose.
With some forgery (of which, Maglor and Daeron have got very good over the years when they have to fake their deaths every now and again), they produce her as legally their child - Ivy Felicity Smith, daughter of Martin and David Smith.
At home, she is Ivárifinwë Filegol, Ivárë being the shortened version of Ivárifinwë.
Ivárë means, I think, She Who Protects making Ivárifinwë, Finwë Who Protects. This is, of course, the name Maglor gives her.
Filegol means Nimble Small Bird Running Free, I believe. This was Daeron’s nickname for his sister and he gives it to Ivárë because he’s feeling nostalgic.
They buy a farm which is a bit run down, with two horses, a cow, three sheep, a very angry goat who only seems to be un-angry around Ivárë and a hoard of chickens.
They homeschool her for most of her life, apart from one years when they enrol her in year two at the local primary school. She hates it, learns nothing and is bullied relentlessly, so they pull her out again.
When homeschooled, she is not without company. The New Forest, where the remains of the Greenwood now lie, has a few elves still living there, Thranduil keeping up his promise to protect the area until it is gone, and they travel there a fair bit.
She grows up to be a musician like her fathers, and her instrument of choice is the violin, although she does not explicitly play that.
They live a fairly happy life on their farm and Ivárë had just turned fifty when Maglor’s wife appears.
Cantasië has spent the last few ages hanging out in Valinor. She is a Teler and subsequently rather pissed off at her husband but as the ages passed, she found herself forgiving him - she definitely knows that he needs to show that he is sorry too and she won’t forgive him straight away, but she still loves him.
Of course, there is the issue of the whole new husband but after some talking, they agree to come back with her to Valinor and they eventually are all three married, officially again as Cantasië had broken off her marriage when Maglor left; and Maglor and Daeron hadn’t ever had an official wedding.
(At this point, most of Maglor’s family has been reborn apart from Fëanor)
Ivárë finds her birth parents - and she has like three more siblings now - and gets a connection to them as well as her fathers and they’re all happy.
Because it’s important, she calls Maglor Atto, Daeron Ada, Cantasië Emmë and her brith parents Ami and Adi.
Ivárë herself is rather outspoken because she never learned not to be. This was my attempt at drawing her in an AU she’s in, so she’s wearing more Ñoldor clothes:

So yeah, I hope you liked that!

Please, I need more Finrun content!!! I already adore him.
🦋 If your OC could change everything (or just something) about their life would they? What would they change? What do they think would happen if they did? What would their loved ones think?
I would be happy to give you more!

He would probably just bring his family back from the dead. At this point, I don’t think he’d actually care how much chaos they would create, so long as they were there and he had someone to have some company.
Now, you didn’t ask for it but, here he is:

(All this enthusiasm has given me ideas about him and Elwing and Eärendil and Maglor’s Wife Cantasië - please let me talk about them!)

Okay so, in the accidental adoption AU, does Mama Mairon eventually become Grandma Mairon to Tyelpë, Elrond and Elros? Or will the story be altered enough that none of them (or just Tyelpë) are born?
Oh yes, you are asking me questions about this!!
I have plans for Tyelpë and for Elrond and Elros and my other Fëanorian children actually.
Tyelpë will be born during the peace when Curufin’s quite young and then his wife/girlfriend will promptly die/leave him (it’s a plot point very in the future and I haven’t really planned that far). She won’t be in the picture basically and Mairon gets to be full on grandpa to him.
Elrond and Elros will likely be an accident of fate where they are parentless all of a sudden and Maglor and Maedhros happen to be in the area and can take them in.
For my OC children of the Fëanorians:
Ivárë, because this is an AU, will likely have her birth pushed backwards so that it’s around the second age, giving Maglor, Daeron and Cantasië (who goes by Timpinen here) the ability to find her (as neither are going to stay on the shores of Middle Earth for as long as they do in canon).
Nibenaes stays in the same canonical place of birth.
Amras’ children (who were all born comfortably before Bragollach and all - bar one - were fully grown by the battle) are probably going to be born later too with a possibility that some of them might be born at Anon Ereb.
Anyway, if you have any more questions, please send them in :)
