Dolcetto sighed, his fingers tapping against his phones touchscreen as he played a game on it. Something about collecting cats and taking photos of them? It was recommended to him by Greed, his manager (or boss, he guessed, considering how the actual owner of the convenience store he worked at never showed up and Greed seemed fine with being called the boss).

He glanced at the clock that hung above the door, internally sighing in relief. Twenty minutes left of his shift. Afterwards, he could go home, smoke, and spend time with his dogs. He just needed to survive twenty minutes and make sure Martel clocked in for once.

He glanced up, quickly surveying the isles. There weren't many people around considering the time, but a few stragglers were perusing the wares. Among them stood a kid, probably not older then twelve considering his height. Or lack of it. The kid turned quickly, marching over to the self check out lanes and yeesh! Dol had only caught a glimpse of his face, but those had to be some of the heaviest dark circles he'd ever seen.

He turned back to his phone. Whatever. Fifteen minutes to freedom.

Or apparently not, as the jarring overhead voice called out customer service needed in self check out!

Dol sighed, slipped his phone into his pocket and began to make his way over to the self check out.

"Y' gotta be fuckin' kiddin me..." He glanced over to who was at self check out and yup, same kid from before. He plastered on his best grin, hoping not to look manic.

"Hey uh, what do y'need help with?"

#talking to a friend who's written 20k of her own novel last night motivated me to be up before 10 to write before it gets too hot #bc i tried yesterday but nothing felt right and i was getting in my head about it all #now i have iced coffee #and will not be worrying that i somehow upset the people working there bc i had a mask on today and i didn't last week #when handing in my cv and that means i'm out and about with covid and therefore i've ruined my chances of getting a job #bc they might have just been having a bad morning and were still really nice and polite #so it's fine #like i said i'm not going to worry about it #just gonna write about sweet sweet rebellion instead #aaaaaaand exhale :)#wish me luck friends i'm giving myself the little treat of tumblr at 11 so i will accept - nay encourage - being yelled at if i'm on before #personal #lit talks

On the morning of July 26, USS HORNET (CVS-11) arrived at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Sailors brought Columbia onto the flight deck so the assembled crowd of about 2,500 well-wishers could see it as the ship docked.

"After the astronauts departed HORNET in Pearl Harbor, workers used a crane to lift Columbia from the carrier’s flight deck to the dock and towed it to an aircraft hangar on Ford Island, the remote location chosen because the spacecraft still contained some toxic propellants that workers drained to safe the vehicle. To preserve back-contamination protocols, Columbia’s hatch remained sealed since the flexible tunnel connecting it to the MQF was removed. On July 29, workers loaded Columbia and the backup MQF onto a C-133 Cargomaster aircraft at Hickam AFB. After a refueling stop on the West Coast, Columbia arrived at Ellington on July 31 and workers trucked it to the LRL, where it was towed inside the spacecraft room. The Apollo 11 astronauts retrieved personal items from the spacecraft and [NASA recovery engineer John K.] Hirasaki removed the spacesuits for postflight inspections.”
