In your opinion, what is the most heartbreaking parallel in the franchise?

This one. Because in the first one, she's reacting to Gothel's outburst. But in the second, she's reacting to Eugene's.
Even though he wasn't upset with her (heck, he wasn't upset at all), the boisterousness of his reaction made her pull away, gave her that same reaction she got when Gothel yelled at her. Rapunzel is traumatized.

Ted Lasso Callback Fail
Apparently, the horrible Roy, Jamie, Keeley scene in S3E12 was supposed to be a callback to the Roy, Keeley, Phoebe one in S3E1. While it's a visual callback, overall, this is a callback failure. There is a far better one but it would have showed how badly these characters were treated in this scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What would have been more appropriate is if Keeley had said, “Don’t use me as a prop in your little fights” - a callback to S1E4 (For the Children - after the gala) when Roy challenged Keeley on doing that very thing to him with Jamie. Then, Roy should’ve apologized (again, similar to Keeley's apology in that scene). Maybe Jamie could've then also showed shame in his behaviour because he would realize how he just walked back so much growth. It would also have shown Roy realizing he was a hypocrite, expecting better treatment in that S1 scene when he and Keeley were mere acquaintances than he was giving to Keeley in S3E12, the woman who he apparently loved.

That’s a proper callback, but it would've called attention to the fact that the show decided to short shrift Roy & Keeley as characters in S3. Not to mention this scene was so gross because Roy and Jamie had always respected Keeley's agency & even in S1 when they hated each other, they respected her wishes. Hey... another callback, when Roy didn't try to stop Jamie from coming into Keeley's house in S1, showing he may have hated Jamie but Keeley's friendship with Jamie was none of his business. And Jamie knew Keeley's love life was none of his. They both knew they had no right to make her choose how she lived her life.

Regression is one thing, but it means Ted’s influence & all their growth meant nothing.

The scene where Coulson explains to Skye where the GH23 comes from and he says
“Nothing fazes you, but this should faze you.”
Mirrored in Daisy when she’s talking to Sousa in the time loop
“Nothing seems to faze you.”
Our two unfazed babies.

They could have made the ily speech completely disconnected from any previous words from Mike. But instead they might sure that it perfectly paralleled his earlier words to the audience, in a situation where he was more likely to be being honest, that directly contradicted what he was saying in a season with the theme of lying in which Mike was the only one who hadn't lied yet. What the fuck.
"When I stumbled on her in the woods, she just needed someone. It wasn't fate. It wasn't destiny."
"I feel like my life started that day we found you in the woods. - And I knew in that moment that I loved you."
They had him recount meeting her BOTH. TIMES. He EASILY and honestly more genuinely to me could have taken any memory of their past YEAR AND HALF RELATIONSHIP that we've seen. How much he missed her and their reunion after he thought she was dead would have worked great. The first time he felt really understood by her when he told her about his bullies. He could have really brought up ANY memory that focuses on how she treats him or her characteristics as a person, but nope. Better use the one that is directly contradicted (AND we have past proof of him describing better - to Will).

It’s not about glory. It’s not about getting what you want. Blackbeard is himself again. I have… love for you / Oh, come on
It’s about belonging to something when the world has told you you’re nothing. Talk it through / As a crew? A safe space ship
It’s about finding the family to kill for when yours are long dead. You’re my only family / Ed, you’re surrounded by family
It’s about letting go of ego for something larger. The crew. Just be Ed

How I Think Vecna Will be Defeated
So I’ve been thinking a lot about how the final battle might play out in Season 5 and how Vecna will be defeated and here’s what I’ve come up with. I think Venca will be defeated in the final battle through a combination of things and that there will be at least one if not more smaller battles before we get to the big one. I think we’ll see all of the characters come together to figure out what Vecna’s motivations and plans are and I think the final battle will involve the characters going into the Upside Down one last time.
I think the final plan of attack will involve El or someone else distracting Vecna while the others get into place with weapons. Most importantly, I think that the connection that Venca and Will have is what’s tying him to life which is why Nancy, Steve, and Robin weren’t able to kill him at the end of Season 4 and why nothing the characters do is ever permanent. The danger always returns because it cannot be killed because Vecna’s survival is tied to his connection with Will.
I think it’s very telling that we see Billy and Vecna address El directly, but never Will. We know they have a connection and that Will can feel him when he’s in Hawkins, but we never see Vecna or his vessels address him directly. Which is odd considering they have a connection, the lab had a fake body ready to go, and we know that the connection remained even after Will’s exorcism and the Now Memories stopped.
I think in order to defeat him El or someone else will have to distract Vecna and then when everyone is in position El will have to stop Will’s heart long enough to use her powers to kill Vecna aided by everyone else who will be in position with weapons to use against Vecna and the monsters. I think Vecna will be defeated in the end, but that the effort of doing so will knock El out and that both her and Will will have to be resuscitated like they did with Will at the end of Season 1.
I think the final challenge will be resuscitating them and then getting everyone back to the Right Side Up before the Upside Down collapses in on itself due to the energy vacuum left behind by Vecna’s death and El using her powers to that degree. I think we’ll see a lot of callbacks to Season 1 when Joyce and Hopper found Will and resuscitated him and to Mike’s reactions when he thought that Will and El were gone.
