Chapter V, Chapter VI, Chapter VII, Chapter VIII, Next
“If I never see another airplane, I think it will still be too soon,” Lia was over being on an airplane, travel was fun but the fatigue that came with being on and off a plane every two or three days was ridiculous.
“I don’t know how the boys do this, I’m barely making it and all I do is translate the questions for their interviews,” Lyra was in the same boat as Lia, if she could just sleep for the next year and take that time to recharge her social battery it would be all good.
The boys were feeling it as well, but this was their life going from city to city, getting up at the crack of dawn for interviews, spending all day practicing or working on various things in progress, giving their all while performing for Atiny that night before hopping on a plane and doing it all again.
“My childhood dream of becoming a rockstar just got crushed because I hate this touring life, I’m not built for this.” Lia was right this lifestyle was very glamorous in theory but not in practice, They were generally homebodies, Lia being an INTP and Lyra an INFP.
After Madrid came to Paris, something the girls were especially looking forward to and getting to experience the city of love.
Okay, that’s total bullshit. The girls just really wanted to eat their way through the city and spend their time in a bread-induced food coma. Wooyoung was doing better, still taking it easy but better. Good enough to participate again in the concerts, but was still advised to take as much rest as he could. The end result? Wooyoung is endlessly being a brat, more than usual.
However, no one really minded as he was injured, and several of them liked taking care of him while he sure enjoyed being taken care of. One thing most of them had in common was some sort of need for attention, a couple of them were rather open when they wanted attention.
Wooyoung and Lia were probably the most vocal about wanting attention, both of them would find a way to get it and fate help you if the two of them decided to seek attention from the same person at the same time. That was the current situation of Lyra as she sat between Lia and Wooyoung who had both decided she was the emotional support soulmate of the hour.
She had brought one of them chocolate and the other one an iced americano, which obviously meant she was the woman of the hour. Lyra didn’t mind much as they were currently deciding who would sleep where while in ‘The City of Love.’
The boys had decided that they were going to play the ladder game in order to figure out who would sleep where, and most importantly who would be sleeping in the rooms with a single bed.
As always their room breakdown was a bit odd, the boys had booked these rooms months in advance then the girls came along and had to try to get something in the same place much later.
So they ended up separated into four rooms, the three original rooms the boys had booked - two with two queen-sized beds, and one with a single king-sized bed - and the one room the girls had booked with a single king-sized bed. The only person who had preferential treatment was Wooyoung, due to his injury they had all decided to let him have a bed to himself.
“Ah sh-” a swift hand came to pop San on the back of his neck as his sleeping place for the night was decided.
“What your mouth,” Seonghwa scolded him despite the fact that everyone cursed like a sailor.
“I wanted a bed to myself,” San was pouting at the fact that he and Yeosang were now going to share a bed for the next several nights.
“I don’t want to hear it, I’m sharing also and i’m not complaining so suck it up,” Mother was mothering again but he wouldn’t be one to complain as he was quite pleased with his sleeping arrangement thus far.
“Yah! YOU GET TO SHARE WITH LIA IN A KING-SIZED BED IN A ROOM WITH NO ONE ELSE THERE, OF COURSE, YOU WOULDN’T COMPLAIN,” San had been the one to hype the game and now obviously was regretting his life choices as he hadn’t gotten a bed to himself.
“Such a pouty baby,” It hadn’t taken Lia long to be on the San is a cat train and now she couldn’t unsee it, especially when he was pouting like this.
San looked like he was about to say something back in response when the game finished up and the rooms were all distributed for the next several days. Yunho and Jongho were all too proud to have beds to themselves in one of the rooms with two beds, Yeosang and San would share a bed in a room with Wooyoung who occupied the other bed.
San was starting to accept his shared room especially now that Yeosang had come over and started giving him some attention to lighten his grumpy mood. Beyond that everyone knew some variation of those three would have ended up in each other's beds regardless, they were like glue most days and tended to find each other.
They were all soulmates and had that special connection to each other, still, they formed other relationships within the group and had people they gravitated toward more often.  It actually happened the most naturally by age as the two oldest seemed to pair up, while if the ones born in ‘99 aren’t in one big group they’re in some variation of it, and as it had turned out the three born in 2000 had become a trio rather fast bonding through some shared humor and other traits.
Honestly, it came from them teasing everyone else that they were old, in some way it all worked out. None of them really felt awkward or left out at any point as they just felt comfortable with each other.
Hongjoong, Seonghwa, and Lia had all ended up in one of the rooms with a king-sized bed, which was a tight squeeze but none of them really minded. Then there was Mingi and Lyra in the other king-sized bed across the hall.
They had moved out to settle into their new sleeping arrangements before having the night to do what they pleased in Paris, with Hajoons warning to stay out of trouble and to not do anything that would get them hurt.
“Lyra,” Mingi grabbed her gently by the arm, stopping her as they made their way to their room
“Yeah? Whats up” Lyra had to tilt her head up at him to fully see his face and more importantly see his eyes. All of the boys had beautiful dark eyes, he was no exception. When the boys didn’t have any schedules, he would often wear glasses rather than his contacts and that was one of Lyra’s favorite things in the whole world.
“Since we have the night to ourselves would you like to go on a date with me?” Mingi had obviously rehearsed what he was going to say and even seemed nervous to ask.
“A date? You want to go on a date with … me?” She was more surprised than anything and this seemed to make Mingi even more nervous at her lack of an answer.
“Uhh… Yes. I want to go on a date with you tonight,”
“Okay, Bub. I will absolutely go on a date with you tonight,” the smile crept onto Lyra’s face before the two of them made their way to their room further down the hall.
Lia, Seonghwa, and Hongjoong were a few steps behind them making their way to their own room across from theirs. The three of them were slightly listening in and watching the interaction happening in front of them.
As they entered their room, Seonghwa set his and Lia’s bag down and turned to his two soulmates who were near the entrance of the room, “ In the spirit of the city, should we go on a date? The three of us?”
“Hmmmm, I wouldn’t mind going on a date as long as we avoid eating snails for dinner,” Lia answered Seonghwa making her way over to him before wrapping him in a hug from behind and resting her head between his shoulder blades.
“I think I would eat leafy greens before I eat snails, but I’d love to go on a date with the two of you. Go see the town, get a sense for true Paris fashion,” Hongjoong said in a joking manner as he came over to the duo and set his luggage next to theirs before also joining in the hug.
“Don’t like physical affection my ass,” Lia said toward Hongjoong before giving him a quick peck on the cheek and grabbing her carry-on from its spot on the floor.
“I like it when I start it,” the leader stuck his tongue out at her as he removed himself from Seonghwa and started on unpacking his things. Seonghwa only smiled at their antics before grabbing his bag and deciding to follow suit.
“I will leave the fine detail planning to you two cause i’m going to take a long hot shower. I feel gross from the plane and honestly, I haven’t washed my hair in like four days and that’s not hot date core,” LIa gathered a few of her things before heading toward the bathroom to shower.
Seonghwa, still in full unpacking mode, had made his way through everything in his carry-on that needed to be unpacked and decided that he would be sweet and help Lia unpack hers as well.
Her suitcase was extremely organized considering the amount of clothes she had in the bag. Everything was in neat little packing cubes and was separated by articles of clothing. Seonghwa found it very easy to take all her clean clothes out and put them into the proper place in the drawers provided in the hotel room.
As Seonghwa took the last packing cube out of her bag, he noticed her toiletry bag was still open from where Lia had taken out her things to shower. Now listen, Seonghwa knows and respects all his soulmates' boundaries but he is a curious creature. He picked the bag up and had full intentions of just zipping it up before placing it on the counter.
Then an orange medicine bottle fell out. At first, he wasn’t concerned with the bottle and neither was Hongjoong who just glanced over at the sound before returning to whatever he was working on at the small table in the corner of the room. He thought maybe it was her birth control or something like that.
Grabbing the bottle from the floor he opened the smaller bag to put the bottle back when he saw the label of the bottle. Seonghwa wasn’t awful at English by any standards, but he couldn’t fully understand the label. The one thing he did recognize, however, was the name of the medication inside the bottle.
It was medication to help stop the symptoms of soul sickness. Lia had been soul-sick in the few weeks they had been apart from the date on the bottle.
“Hongjoong-ah, will you come look at this?” Seonghwa called over in Korean, wanting a second pair of eyes on the medicine bottle. He half hoped Hongjoong would come over and laugh, tell him he was freaking out for nothing and that this wasn’t what he thought it was.
“What is it? Why are you glaring at a medicine bottle?” Hongjoong walked and turned his head to get a better look at the bottle in his hand. It took him a few seconds before taking the bottle from Seonghwa to inspect it and get a closer look, Hongjoong’s expression turning darker by the second.
“She’s soul sick? Why didn’t they tell us something was wrong, I don’t understand?” As Hongjoong voiced his concerns they heard the shower cut off and Lia started finishing up in the bathroom.
“I don’t know, really, I don’t know why Lia wouldn’t say anything about being sick. Especially sick enough to need medication like this,” Seonghwa had valid concerns, it was hard to get medication like this unless it was a serious case of soul sickness.
“Y’all the shower is insane, like I expected the water pressure to be awful. I was clearly wrong, I think my skin is going to be pink for the next hour at least,” Lia walked out of the bathroom, pink-faced, with wet hair, in a t-shirt and spandex. The hair dryer in her hand gave away that she was about to start getting ready for the small date they had planned.
“Uh? What’s with the meeting of the minds here?” Lia was a little taken aback by the serious expressions she was receiving from the two older men. She looked a little closer at them, noticing her med bag in one of Seonghwa’s hands and her soul-sickness meds in one of Hongjoong's hands.
“What is this?” Hongjoong tried to not be aggressive with his approach, but his clipped tone betrayed him.
“Excuse me?” Lia cocked her head at the two of them, “Are the two of you going through my things? I don’t know how big you think your balls are to snoop through my shit, but I promise mine are bigger.” Lia wasn’t one to back down in these types of situations, she really didn’t care if they went through her bags but they should have asked her first. She had had enough boyfriends who didn’t respect her privacy and she would be damned if her soulmates thought they could act the same.
“Yah!” Seonghwa raised his voice slightly at the acquisition, “I picked up the bag to put it on the counter and it fell out. Why do you have soul sickness medication?”
“How we found it is not important, are you sick? Why wouldn’t you tell us if you’re sick?” Hongjoong was just as aggravated at the situation. They weren’t mad, no they were scared. Scared that she was hurting and they didn’t know that she was in pain and they couldn’t do anything to fix it. But it all came out as anger and frustration.
“Why I have that medication is none of your business. That is a personal matter and I have handled it, thank you very much,” Lia was pissed as she snatched the bottle from Hongjoong’s palm, and turned her back to them as she went to find her phone.
“Not our business?” Seonghwa had enough at that moment and walked over to Lia to make sure he had her full attention.
“Everything about you is my business,” Seonghwa’s hands went to the wall beside Lia’s head, caging her in, she could look nowhere but at him.
“You’re my soulmate, just like Lyra, Hongjoong, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho are my soulmate. Everything you do and anything about you is my business, from the last time you sneezed to when you need a tire changed. My business just like everything about me is your business now. So pretty girl, you’re going to tell us why you needed these pills and if you’re okay. Right. Now.”
Part of Lia wanted to be pissed that he was talking to her this way, that he was being so possessive over her, over all of them really. The other larger part of Lia found his possessiveness so attractive. She craved having someone so invested in her that they would get so worked up over the small things like this, maybe that was the daddy issues rearing their ugly head again.
“I got sick while we were apart, I collapsed and had to go to the hospital. I started doing better after I started taking the medicine and I haven’t even had a headache since landing in Madrid. I made the choice that we shouldn’t tell you all because I didn’t want to worry all of you besides we were on two opposite sides of the world. I knew we would be back together soon, so I just waited.” Lia didn’t shy away from him, she kept eye contact as she explained her reasoning. Fully planning how she was going to bitch him out for this before sucking his dick for how hot this was.
“You should have told us the moment you started feeling sick at all. I don’t care if we were in Korea at the time, we would have dropped everything to make sure you were okay.” Hongjoong spoke as he came to stand right behind one of Seonghwa’s shoulders, obviously just as in control of the situation. That serious expression etched on his features still.
“That’s exactly why we couldn’t tell you. Yes, we are soulmates, all of us, but it would be irresponsible for us to put you all in a situation where you have to drop everything. We were able to handle it and manage until we were all together again. Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill, it’s not that important.” Lia was being blunt in her words now, trying to make clear the respect behind the choice. They hadn’t done it just for shits and giggles, they respected their lives and how hard the boys work.

“Did you just forget what I told you? Everything about you is our business, everything. I don’t care if you stub your toe and we are not there. Fucking call us and tell us or something.” Seonghwa’s facade was cracking a little as pure anxiety seeped from his body language. It clicked for Lia just how bad this had made them feel, to find out after the fact that someone so dear to you had been so sick they needed soul sickness medication.
“I’m not sorry. You mean the world to me and I know how much you all already have on your plate. I refuse to add onto that with something as dramatic as this, it was handled in less than a day.” Lia let them know as everyone could feel the tension still rising in the room.
“If something happened to you, to any of you, I don’t know what I would do. Do you understand?” Was Seonghwa’s statement a little unhinged and borderline toxic, yes. Did Lia love it, also yes.
“I understand, but you have to understand that I will put you all first as well. I’m an adult and I can call my own shots, got it?” She wasn’t angry anymore but needed to be sure they got the memo
“Got it,” Hongjoong said as he pulled Lia gently from the barriers that were Seonghwas’s forearms before pulling her into a heated kiss. His hand grabbed a fist full of her hair at the base of her head to help guide her.
She could feel Seonghwa turn and stand behind her, his hands going to her waist and his lips finding her exposed neck.
“I think we're going to have to show you just how much of our business you really are. So you have a few options, we call a soulgroup meeting and go public by the end of the night, making sure no one can question that we belong to each other or the three of us can forgo our little date scheduled for the night. Spend all evening here and leave our mark on any piece of exposed skin we can find.”
Hongjoong's words were laced with his desire and lust, but Lia knew he would keep to his word on whichever she said. She also knew that while they weren’t technically hiding anything, their entire lives would be in even more upheaval if they just came out with it. Everyone would be put in a bind and she didn’t want to be the reason why, plus she really really really wanted the two of them to dick her down like tomorrow wasn’t coming.
“You two better fuck me into this matress or I’ll be worse than Wooyoung has been since Midrid.”
The next thing Lia knew her back was against the mattress and Hongjoong was hovering above her, one hand holding himself up the other under her chin making her extend her neck. His mouth was attached to the base of her neck, she could feel him sucking and his teeth scraping against her skin.
This wasn’t sweet or gentle, no this was raw and was sending a message. She belonged to them and they belonged to her.
“Strip. I don’t want anything between us,” Hongjoong leaned up to remove his own clothing as he told Lia to do the same. She made quick work of her t-shirt but apparently wasn’t fast enough to get her shorts off as Hongjoong smacked her hands away and dragged the spandex off her legs himself.
Lia jumped slightly as she felt his finger graze her folds before finding her clit. She brought one hand to her mouth, trying to cover her moans as Hongjoong’s finger worked their magic and his mouth went to her pierced nipples.
“When are you girls going to learn,” Seonghwa said, now sitting at the table in the corner of the room, watching the interaction. The bulge in his pants was an obvious clue to just how much he was enjoying the show.  “We want to hear every sweet little sound you have to offer, so take your hand away from your mouth or I’ll find something to strap them down with, are we clear Pretty?”
Lia removed her hand and turned to look at Seonghwa before nodding to him. “Now you know that isn’t how you answer someone's question Pretty, what do you say?” Hongjoong said as he began to change their position, hiking one of her legs onto his hip, his face hovering over hers and his lips brushing against her ear.
“I’ll keep my hand out of my mouth, Sir,” Lia was still making eye contact with Seonghwa, and Hongjoong's new position didn’t allow her to turn her head in any other direction.
“Good girl,” the two men spoke in almost perfect unison. Hongjoong dipped his head down once more, this time biting harder into her neck than he had previously. Everyone would know just what had happened and the thought of that alone made Lia feel like she could cum.
Desperate for more stimulation than Hongjoong’s fingers on her clit, Lia began grinding her hips back and forth catching his hips due to their position. Both of his hands went to her hips, stopping her with his tight grasp.
“You want me to fuck you into this mattress, huh?” Hongjoong almost looked feral, his eyes blown with lust and his lips damn near bruised from his aggressive biting.
“Yes, please fuck me,” Lia cried out into the room
“Please fuck me who?” Hongjoong couldn’t help but tease his soulmate as she was so desperate under his, her whole body crying out for his touch. Unable to resist he bent his neck and pulled one of her nipples, piercing and all quickly through his teeth.
“Please fuck me Captain,” Lia let out her response, damn near screaming as she did so. Hongjoong gave no warning as he thrust into her wet pussy. He was pounding into her, fast and hard as if he could leave a lasting imprint of his cock in her cervix.
Lia couldn’t really think straight, her brain was overtaken by the rhythm that Hongjoong was pounding into her. She couldn’t stop the sounds that escaped her, the moans matching the thrusts of Hongjoong's hips.
In hindsight, she did feel bad for whoever their neighbors were in this hotel, but at that moment she was having the time of her life. Her hands had found her there way into Hongjoong's hair and she was sloppily thrusting up to meet his hips. She could feel an orgasm building as Hongjoongs cock hit her G-spot over and over. She nearly lost it all when his mouth went back down to restart their nipping and biting on her chest.
“Those nice little purple bars really do make your nipples sensitive huh, Pretty?” Seonghwa’s voice from the other side of the room, the teasing nature of his tone, and the sheer dominance coming from the two men sent her over the edge for her first orgasm of the night.
“Yes, sir! My piercings make everything so much more sensitive, oh god,” Lia did her best to answer Seonghwa as she let her orgasm wash over her. Seonghwa stood from his seat and paced toward the bed, he was like a predator stalking his prey.
He came to stand just behind Hongjoong, who was lost in the chase for his own pleasure. Lia could only hear little bits of what he was saying as he whispered into Hongjoong's ear.
“I bet she feels like heaven, hmmm?” Seonghwa whispered in Korean into Hongjoong’s ear “So wet and warm, tight,” His voice trailed off for a second as his hands made their way around Hongjoong's body, finding their way his his hardened nipples.
“Ah fuck,” Hongjoong let out his words like a prayer as his movements became more erratic as Seonghwa pinched and pulled at his chest. He was so close to cuming he could feel the precum leaking from his tip into Lia’s tight wet cunt.
“Ah ah ah,” Seonghwa grabbed onto Hongjoong's hips, making him go still. “We don’t want anything to happen too fast now do we?” It was like a game of cat and mouse where Hongjoong was the mouse and Seonghwa the cat.
Lia was watching the interaction from below Hongjoong, and she didn’t think it was possible for her to become even more turned on but there was something so erotic about seeing Seonghwa control the entire situation.
Slowly, she could see and feel Seonhwa guiding Hongjoong's hips. At an almost agonizingly slow pace, Seonghwa used his grip on the leader's waist to fuck him into Lia. Desperately Lia began thrusting a little harder to meet his cock. Hongjoong couldn’t help it any longer, his moans were desperate and needy as he came into Lia. He pulled his hip back just enough that his last bit of cum leaked out all over her pussy making a right mess of things.
“Now look what you’ve done to our Pretty, such a mess,” Seonghwa’s hand reached down and stroked Hongjoong’s cock a few times to make sure he was completely finished and to overstimulate the man just slightly.
“Ahh,” Hongjoong let out as Seonghwa’s fingers grazed his sensitive tip, “You’ll clean up behind me, Hwa. You always do.”
The two of them moved, Lia still lying on the bed, her eyes glazed over from the experience she had just had with Hongjoong. She turned her head just slightly to see the Matz locked in a heated kiss as Hongjoong helped Seonghwa strip out of his clothes.
She leaned her head back against her pillow for just a second, trying to get her bearings just a little when she felt strong hands grasp her waist. Before she could look up and see who was standing at the edge of the bed she was flipped, the hands at her waist bringing her into the classic face first into the pillows, ass up pose.
“See what a mess you made? All over our pussy? You know I can’t stand a mess,” Lia could feel Seonghwa’s warm breath against her folds as he spoke and she let out a squeal when his lips met her pussy.
This obviously wasn’t his first time doing this, Lia wasn’t complaining in the slightest. His tongue was long and lapped at her with long strokes. It took her a second to realize what he was doing, but the second his mouth came to suck the little bit of cum off of her inner thigh.
He had been true to his word and had cleaned up Hongjoong’s mess. In an instant, Seonghwa stood and gave a stinging smack to Lia’s now sensitive and swollen pussy. Then he grabbed Hongjoong's face in his hand, bringing the other man in once again for a heated kiss. It wouldn’t take a genius to realize that during that kiss Seonghwa had transferred the cum he had just sucked out of Lia into Hongjoongs ready and waiting mouth.
Lia was in bliss when Seonghwa once again came to stand behind her, this time pulling her up so that her back rested against his front. One of his hands went to her throat tilting her head up just enough for Hongjoong to step over to them and capture her lips in a kiss much like Seonghwa had done to him.
She could feel him passing what was left of his own cum into her mouth, still warm from both her body and his. It was bitter and salty as any cum would be, but to Lia, it was like ambrosia.
“Swallow it, Pretty,” Seonghwa spoke from behind her, his hard cock pressing into the small of her back.
With an audible gulp, she swallowed everything in her mouth and Seonghwa bent her forward once again before ramming into her swollen cunt.
Lia, still sensitive from Hongjoong and from Seonghwa’s mouth, felt her eye roll to the back of her head as an orgasm washed over her after only a few thrusts from Seonghwa. She rode out her high, but even then it felt as though she was having an out-of-body experience.
She felt like she was floating in pleasure, Seonghwa’s thrust sending her into a state of overstimulation. Her moans turned into cries as he thrust harder into her. Lia buried her face into the pillows in front of her and grabbed a fist full of the bed sheets as she thrust back against his hips.
Seonghwa saw just how fucked out Lia was becoming and couldn’t help but chuckle. Both of his girls were so responsive to him – all of them really. Even as she still tried to muffle her cries, he could still hear her pleasure leaving her mouth. The only sound that was near as loud was the sound of skin smacking on the skin as he thrust into her, watching her plump ass jiggle with each movement. If he were a better man he would have resisted the urge to leave a large red handprint on her pretty ass, but he wasn’t. No, he was a sinner and wanted to see his mark on her skin as much as Hongjoong had.
The sting of his palm against her ass was all it took for Lia to spiral into another orgasm, she swore she had died and ended up in some sort of blissful afterlife. Her back arched and her walls clenched around Seonghwa hard, triggering his own orgasm.
She could feel his hot cum filling her, and one hand stroking her back while another was petting her hair. After a second she realized that someone was speaking to her, asking if she was alright.
“Pretty? Are you okay?” It was Hongjoong to the left of her, it was his hand in her hair while Seonghwa was stroking her back. “Lia, are you okay? Was this all too much?” He asked her again his face coming into view as he crochet down beside her.
“I’m perfect Hongjoongie, absolutely filled and I love it,” even Lia’s voice sounded raw and fucked out as she spoke. Her response and blissful expression caused the two men in the room to chuckle.
She felt cold as Seonghwa moved from his spot behind her and then she heard water running in the bathroom. Hongjoong helped her sit on the edge of the bed, using a damp washcloth to wipe the sweat from her face.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You’re so beautiful, like an angel sent to us from some other world,” Hongjoong said before planting a sweet kiss on her lips.
“No, I think it’s quite the opposite actually. All of you came into our lives, seeing us, and treating us with a kindness we have never known outside of each other. You find all of the weird little things cute and funny, you don’t hate us just because you can.” Lia stopped her sentence and placed a few small kisses on Hongjoong's still-naked shoulder before continuing, “I should have told you, but I know how thin you’re all already stretched. If it had been anything worse, I promise we would’ve let you know.”
Lia tucked her head into his shoulder relishing in his soothing touch as he rubbed her back, his hand stroking her spine.
“Come on you two, I think this big ass bathtub can hold the three of us,” Seonghwa said from the door of the bathroom, and with a little strategic maneuvering they indeed did all fit into the bathtub.
A few hours later they all lay cuddled together in bed watching videos on Lia’s phone, Honestly, Markiplier was a top-tier post-sex watch.
“Lia, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to yell or get upset with you.” Seonghwa started from his position on the left. “I don’t know what I would do if something happened to you, I want every piece of you to be safe and with me as much as you can be. ..” His words trailed off for a second and he took a deep breath looking at both of his soulmates, safe and sound in a bed with him. It was near perfect, the only change he would make was for all ten of them to be here and together. But there would never be a bed big enough for that.
“I love you, Lia.” His words hung in the air for a second. Lia was a bit stunned at his confession, she hadn’t expected him to feel this way just yet.
“I love you, too Lia.” Hongjoong said from the other side of her, his expression just as intense and it made sense for her in that moment. They weren’t perfect people, no they were far from it. They were awkward at times and came from a country that was very different than her own. Their culture and habits were nearly the opposite of one another.
None of that mattered, not when they were all together. When they could lean on one another for strength, learn from each other, and grow as people. To grow as soulmates, sure it may be a bit small-minded but they just needed each other to be happy. As long as she had all nine of her soulmates, that's what was important.
The world could burn, and everything could crumble under her fingertips. They could be stuck living in a dumpster with no lid for the rest of their lives, like the feral raccoons they were deep down and it would be alright. They could be feral raccoons together.
“I love you, both of you.” She smiled at the two beside her and gave both of them a kiss before bursting out laughing at the screams coming from her phone as Mark died while playing his game.
She couldn’t stop the warm and happy feeling from seeping deep into her heart as she was surrounded by ones who loved her. But she couldn’t let them have true peace, that was just not something she would allow.
“Now that I know you’re both in this shit for life, would you still love me if I were a raccoon and lived in a dumpster without a lid?” Lia asked nobody in particular
“Actually, would you choose to be raccoons with me in a dumpster with no lid?” They really would have no peace with Lia and that’s exactly how they liked it. Everything was a little chaotic and all over the place, but that was perfect.
A/N: Hi, its been like two/three weeks since I last updated. To make it up to you all here is some like absolute filth, hope you enjoyed. Also, lets be clear none of what happened in that fight was really healthy, but the point is to see the flaws in the realtionship and that they're working toward better. Plus its a fanfic so ya know the classic shitty behavior is there. As I am super curious, do you guys have a preference between Lia and Lyra? Do you want to see either of them do something specific (or someone ;))
INTERVIEW WITH BRIAN MAY - GOLD COMPACT DISC (VOL. 1 NO. 7) 1992
When Queen’s charismatic frontman Freddie Mercury died last year, it was the end of an era in rock music in general, as well as a personal tragedy for the three surviving members of a band that had become one of the most successful in the history of British rock. It also heralded the dawn of new solo careers for Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, who performed Queen with Mercury back in 1970.
Brian May has just released his first post-Queen solo album, Back to the Light, while the first single from it, Too Much Love Will Kill You, has already been a top 10 hit. Now May is adjusting to life outside the musical perimeters of one of the UK’s best-loved rock bands – “a challenge which is quite nerve-racking – I feel as though I’m starting out all over again.”
The amiable May is chatting in the comfortable Queen management offices, in London’s Notting Hill. A handful of ever-loyal Queen devotees are sitting patiently outside the unimposing front door, happy just to be in close proximity to one of their heroes. There are many reminders of Queen, and in particular Freddie, to be seen within the building: huge gig posters, from all over the world, plus photographs and awards. There is also a slight flamboyance about the place which brings back the memories of Freddie.
Brian May is reflecting on the death of his long-time musical colleague… the effects on the group, the recording legacy they’ve left behind, but most importantly of all, the positive aspect that came out of Freddie Mercury’s tragic demise – bringing home the message about the dangers of Aids, the killer disease that claimed his life.
“Aids is literally walking the streets, and yet there is this amazing public complacency about it. there are people writing opinion columns in national newspapers, saying ‘Don’t worry about it, it’s a gay disease’. As long as there are still people coming out with statements like that, we must continue to shout out about the dangers. I think that Freddie’s death has made a huge difference to people’s attitudes and conceptions about Aids, which can only be for the good.
“It’s amazing how many people felt so close to Freddie, even those who didn’t actually know him… all kinds of people, all ages, different cultures and sexual persuasions, everything… so many people have told me that when they heard he’d died, they cried, and yet they hadn’t realized until then just how much feeling they had for him. Freddie had this amazing ability to get his personality across to people, he was really quite unique.”
May continues, “I’m glad that we did the Concert for Aids Awareness in his memory, it was done on a big enough scale to give him the great send-off that Freddie deserved. A lot of people have suggested that we should do something like it again, but that would take away from the specialness of the occasion, and anyway, it was a massive strain on our (Queen’s) shoulders because we weren’t just performing, we were also organizing everybody else.
“It was difficult enough just choosing the acts who would appear, we argued a lot among ourselves about the bill, but the basic criteria for the acts finally selected was their relevance to Freddie – either they were artists that he had been enthusiastic about, or those who had been keen on Freddie and his music, and had something to say about him.”
The death of Freddie Mercury was a personal bereavement for May, and his two other Queen colleagues, John Deacon and Roger Taylor. “It was truly awful for us, just like losing a member of the family. I’d known Freddie for 25 years, we’d spent our adult life until now together. It has been hard accepting reddie’s death but perhaps the personal thing that has come out of it for Roger, John and myself, apart from the deep sense of loss, is that there is now no option but to move on with our individual careers.
“As a band, we had an incredibly lucky and successful span of 20 years, and being able to perform at that level of success was very rewarding. However, we fought to build up our own protective shell, and once that was there it was like a little egg that saved us from having to be individuals in the true sense, so it’s good for us to be put in a situation where we have to be individuals from now on. We have no option but to move on to the next phase… I know that I wouldn’t have attacked this solo album with the same passion, if it hadn’t been for the way things turned out with Freddie’s death.”
Back to the Light, Brian’s new album for Parlophone, is actually his second solo album offering. Back in 1983, he teamed up with several rock musician mates, including Eddie Van Halen, for a ‘jam session’ which resulted in a mini-album, Star Fleet Project. He also had a top 10 single last year with Driven by You, which featured in a television commercial campaign for Ford cars.
“I’m very excited about the new album, it’s like starting out again in a way. I want to know what people think about it, and I certainly wouldn’t have put the album out, if I didn’t think that it had something special. Back to the Light is a little different, and I hope that it gives people a jolt when they hear it.
“I don’t know what the reviews will be like, but if they’re not so good, well I’ll be philosophical about it – the things I’ve been most proud of, during my career, have usually been the one’s that got slated the most! But even if Back to the Light doesn’t sell masses of records, well I’ll just be happy if it gets to the right people, to whom it will mean something.
“The Starfleet album was just a quick one-off thing, it didn’t sell that well, but then it wasn’t commercially conceived. The great thing, however, is that all those people who did buy it seem to have treasured the album over the years. Aspiring musicians, in particular guitar players, have told me that it was quite influential to them, and that means much more than just appealing to the mass market. I’m not saying that I wouldn’t like a huge hit – that would bring a great feeling of reward – but if the album is appreciated by people who are into what I’m into, then that will be reward enough, and everything else will be a bonus.”
The rather modest May adds: “I have to make it clear though that I’m not setting myself up as a great vocalist… I know for a fact that I’m not, and that comes from having worked with Freddie. If you look at Bob Dylan or Eric Clapton, they’re proficient, but they’re not great singers… people have sung Dylan’s songs a lot better than he has, but if you listen to his interpretation of his own songs, there’s a massive amount of meaning and feeling that only he can put across. The point is, you can write a song, and someone else can record it, but even if that someone is the best singer in the world, something is usually lost in the translation. The things that you, as the writer, personally feel about the song don’t necessarily get into the final performance. With my new album, I wanted to say what I wanted to say in my own way, using the vocal and the guitar as two voices.”
He continues: “I’m not a songwriter as such, I can only function if a song means something to me regarding human relationships. I like to write about things that are personal, rather than about politics and other wider issues. Also a song should always be about the vocals, and it was certainly that way with Freddie. No matter how good the accompaniment is, and the production, if the vocal doesn’t work, then you haven’t got a song. Back to the Light isn’t a guitar virtuoso album, it is built around the voice, and it is an album of songs, some of which are designed to feature a lot of guitar. I worked on the vocals more than anything else on the album – I needed to, because I’m not that great at doing that kind of stuff!”
Despite his comments about other artists’ and musicians’ interpretations of songs they haven’t written themselves, May admits, “It’s great when other artists bring different approaches to Queen songs, I wish more people covered out stuff, they certainly shouldn’t be afraid to do so… I don’t care how they cover a song, to me it’s a great compliment that they want to do it in the first place. I’m not over-protective about our copyrights, it’s good if other artists and musicians want to bring their own selves into our songs. After all, music is a continuous process, you don’t create it in a vacuum, anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong. When we were starting out, we used to do other people’s songs, every group did in those days, and that’s how we learnt our trade, covering the Motown stuff, as well doing Hendrix and Cream songs.”
Similarly, he has a philosophical view about the Queen back-catalogue. There’s not a great deal of unreleased material because we tended to use up everything as we went along, but there are a few tracks left over from the Innuendo sessions. We never thought we’d finish that album, Freddie had been told by his doctors that he probably wouldn’t get to finish it, but he was determined to get through. There are a few songs sitting there that need finishing, I’m not sure how many, but certainly not enough for an album. I guess there has been a certain amount of reluctance between Roger, John and myself to go back into the studios and finish them… we needed to get away from the recording studios for our own sanity’s sake, rather than locking ourselves in, with the last Queen tapes, and trying to finish them.”
May adds: “Queen as a band doesn’t exist anymore, it can’t without Freddie, but the amount of time we spend on Queen matters is still enormous… there’s the catalogue to consider, and the whole recycling process of it, then there is the Queen business side which has many offshoots. There’s also the material that we didn’t quite finish, which we’ll have to do something about at some stage – we’ve guarded the quality of our record release very carefully over the years, and we don’t want standards to start slipping now.”
Back to his own solo career: “Most of all, I would like to play live again… it’s six years ago since Queen were last out on the road, and you need to strike a balance. Live work gets the juices going, and certainly makes me creative, a lot of my better stuff has been conceived on the road. I was very nervous at the Freddie Wembley tribute though… I get like that if it’s an unfamiliar situation, and I was worried about forgetting to introduce people. When you’re on tour in a band situation, you know what you’re doing, you know your partners, you know that you basically have something to offer, and it’s just a question of playing some good notes.
“I’ve got both Cozy Powell and Neil Murray playing on the new album, and we’re talking about doing some live dates, maybe at the end of the year of early next. I’d like to start in some smaller venues, just to get the feel of performing live again, but preferably in Outer Mongolia where not too many people can see or hear us! However, I don’t want to go out on tour and pretend that I’ve got a show worked out, when it’s just experimentation, it wouldn’t be fair to either the audience or me.”
Would he perform any Queen songs? “I don’t feel shy about doing them, but I wouldn’t be comfortable performing something like We Are the Champions because that’s so personal to Freddie. Even for the Wembley tribute, we racked our brains about who should do the song… there was some talk of us performing it ourselves, which we could have attempted, but it wouldn’t have meant anything. I fought tooth and nail to get Liza (Minnelli) because I knew that she was the only person who could perform the song with the same kind of feeling that Freddie use to put into it.”
He reflects: “It would be a shame though if the Queen catalogue could no longer be performed, so we mustn’t be paranoid about any of us doing the songs live. When Paul McCartney started his solo career, he wouldn’t do any of The Beatles stuff at first, but he does now, which makes sense because people want to hear those songs. I guess though that there’s always a fear that people are going to say, ‘You’re living in the past’, so we’ve got to strike a balance.
“I hope my album will get me some new fans as well as being enjoyed by existing Queen fans. A lot of people did find Queen’s gloss rather off-putting and strangely, since Freddie died, many have been able to look at the band a lot more clearly. Some of those who couldn’t quite swallow Freddie, or the band itself, can now… they can see the reality of what Freddie was doing. With Queen there was a very high level of production, and this huge sieving process went on, so that every recording became very rounded, which I think on the whole is a good thing.
“But I think that my solo stuff is much more directly me because it hasn’t gone through that process. I’ve been very painstaking with the album, and I haven’t had people interfering. I’ve said exactly what I wanted to say. I guess if people hate the results, then I can only blame myself…”
May recorded most of his album in the studio he has at his home in the country. “I’ve always resisted the idea of having a studio there because I’ve always felt that you should be able to get away from your work… but it never worked out like that anyway. The reason I did my own album at home was because of the feeling of pressure that you can get working in one of the major recording studios.
“It’s often a case of, ‘Well here I am, standing in this studio, just playing about, and it’s costing more than £1,000 a day’. It just seems so wasteful, so I thought, ‘Well why not do the album at home?’ And anyway, I wanted to get back to basics. It meant that I could do things the way that I wanted to do them, and not the way the studio wanted it doing… even just little things like miking up the drums in a particular way. Unless you’re careful, it’s so easy to get locked into other people’s way of working. It worked so well that I’m now wedded to the idea of recording more at home.”
May actually started working on his solo album a long time ago. “Bits of it go back to ancient history, particularly the songs. I started the recording work about five years ago, but most of it was done in little blocks, because Queen were so busy. I had a rough idea of what the album was going to be like, round about that time, but I didn’t get down to the serious work until about a year ago, when Driven By You happened.”
He admits that he had previously been reluctant to become involved with writing music for commercials. “The advertising agency approached me, and asked if I’d ever done anything for that medium, and I said, ‘No – I’ve never wanted to’. I had this idea at the back of my mind that it was all a dirty word, pure commercialism… selling out, really. I was persuaded to give it a try though, and discovered that it was all really very much above board!
“I worked on the song and advert in parallel, and the interesting thing is that the song meant one thing to me, and another thing to the agency people. I was really stimulated by the way that advertising people work… I mean, theyre so quick. I delivered them a version of Driven by You, and it was on the television commercial the next day!”
May’s new album has been given a major boost by the success of the single, Too Much Love Will Kill You, and he’s been gearing himself up for the inevitable round of press and radio interviews. He says he shies away from personal publicity, but is happy to talk about music, although may himself has been the victim of unwanted attention from the tabloid press, primarily when it was revealed that he and former EastEnders actress Anita Dobson were going out together, at a time when he was married with a family.
“This personal publicity the tabloids give various people… at its best, it’s intolerable, I hate the way that journalists are allowed to do that, making somebody’s life a total misery. There’s no justification, for example, for the way the newspapers seem to have set out to destroy Michael Jackson, he’s a person who has given pleasure to millions of people, so why should certain people in newspapers destroy his image and credibility in the most vile way?
“Free speech has been wrongly interpreted to mean that newspapers can destroy anyone they like, and yet it’s so difficult for the victims to have any comeback. Michael Jackson is suing The Daily Mirror, but he’s still providing all the papers with a feast… they will sell more newspapers because of the fact that he’s suing. What most of us have to do is just to ignore what is being written, because if you deny the allegations you just provide them with more ammunition.”
‘Yours is green. It’s a pity they're the wrong shade.'
@haiseiscute333 @sunshines-child
Dark! Percy...?
He wants to kill.
He wants to rip a person apart.
He wants to destroy everything.
But, above all, he wants Nico di Angelo.
Cold, sea green eyes gazed at the saved image of Nico on his phone - that one image taken by the paparazzi of him at the concert in Melbourne, Australia, smiling warmly towards the camera, his cheeks flushed a rosy pink from the heat and his skin glistening with a sheen of sweat. He looked so soft, so sweet… like the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. And, oh, Percy had a ravenous appetite for him.
Seeing him tonight, bathing in his presence… his voice… his scent… his taste… Percy could feel his loins stirring from the memory.
The industry’s darling - his darling - had the face of an angel, but his body was the greatest sin incarnate. So soft and slender… Percy knew from memory that Nico’s thin and delicate waist can fit perfectly in his hands. His legs - gods those legs - which Percy had only seen in the magazines of his summer photoshoots. They were hairless and had the most perfect proportions. Percy was more than willing to worship them for hours. They would look glorious, littered with his marks… wrapped around his waist… or draped over his shoulders. It was possible, Percy was certain. Nico did tons of ridiculous poses, Percy was aware of how flexible his body was. Then there were his lips, those sweet bow-shaped lips. Percy had loved kissing them; they tasted absolutely divine.
But most importantly were those warm, brown eyes, more beautiful than any jewels in the world. So, so beautiful. So, so gorgeous. So, so… expressive.
Percy lifted one of his hands, the hands that touched Nico’s hips, and licked his palm. He moaned underneath his breath, the sound guttural, as the memory of his angel’s delicious groan surfaced to the front of his mind.
‘Percy.’ He stared at his image once more, engraving those mesmerizing eyes and that enchanting smile to his memory.
‘Percy.’ He licked his lips as he envisioned how debauched Nico would look like underneath him as he voraciously plunged into his depths. Gods, Nico shouting in euphoric rapture as Percy filled his tight body and claim him as his would be his greatest symphony.
‘P-Percy…!’ It mattered little to him that his brother got a taste of Nico first. As long as Percy was the last. He was confident that he could pleasure his angel a thousand times better than Aeon. And when he’s delirious with ecstasy, he would ingrain the truth into Nico’s senses.
Nico only needs him.
No one else.
Especially not Aeon.
“Percy… What are you doing out of bed…?” Percy turned around and stared at the pitiful yet voluptuous body on the queen-sized bed. She was a gem too. It’s a pity though that she was gray when he only wanted and needed brown.
Pressing his lips to the image of Nico, he locked his phone and placed it on the bedside table before he rejoined Annabeth on the bed. Staring at the image of his angel and thinking about him made him aroused to the point of needing to vent it out. The warm body could be used. Annabeth could be used.
“Hmm… Percy…”
“Don’t talk.” Percy only needed a warm body. Hearing her talk and seeing her visage was ruining his pleasure. Even her scent and her flavor ruined his fantasies. But they would have to do for now. Until he could have the actual person in his arms, her warm pliant body would just have to do.
“Pity…” Percy whispered into her ears as he slipped once more inside her depths and immediately started pounding into her core. Even in the haze of pleasure, Annabeth knew what he was thinking.
‘It’s a pity they’re gray. Would be nice if they were brown.’
She would let him have her one last time - as a parting gift - before she would break the terms of their agreement come morning. She was done playing his unwinnable game; she would rather some other poor unfortunate soul did before she completely lose herself.
An exhausted smile curled her lips as an amusing thought formulated in her head. Yes, perhaps it was a pity that her eyes weren’t those warm brown hues he had been yearning for. Still…
‘Yours is green. It’s a pity they're the wrong shade.'
Multiracial Companionship: To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar
Tumblr media
Saddled with potentially one of the most verbose and ridiculous titles in cinema history, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar is the campy romp of three New York City drag queens, played by Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze, and John Leguizamo who find themselves stranded in a midwestern town after their car breaks down on their way to Hollywood to compete in the Miss Drag Queen of America Pageant. The girls take the town by storm, form wholesome friendships with the classy ladies of Snydersville, Illinois (makeover alert!), navigate tensions with the town’s law enforcement, and chaos and glitz abound.
To Wong Foo represents an imagining of the multiracial buddy movie interested largely in the compartmentalization of identity categories with a concerted interest in gender and sexuality and a resistance to intersectional understandings of identity categories. The main characters being White, Black, and Latino is a fact the film acknowledges with the cinematic ideal of a post-racial U.S.--most importantly, To Wong Foo reminds us, the girls are drag queens, and their racial positionality comes second. The hierarchical ordering of their internal differential social orders that imbue their embodiment firstly with sexuality and gender rather than race comments on the film’s attempt to make a film by and for queer people in response to the growing conservative fear of a departure from traditional values and attempts to largely overwrite race.
youtube
My inspiration for the script came from watching the religious right videotape The Gay Agenda. There’s a scene where they show drag queens going through a town, and the narrator is warning viewers that these people will take over your town, and I thought, ‘Well, that would be fun.’
-Douglas Carter Beane, Screenwriter, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar
In, “The Black Image in Protective Custody: Hollywood's Biracial Buddy Films of the Eighties,” Guerrero explains that black people “appear on the screen in the 1980s predominantly in the biracial ‘buddy formula,’ which reveals all the strategies by which the industry contains and controls the black filmic image and conforms it to white expectations.” Noxeema, the film’s main Black character played by Wesley Snipes quips about Blackness and her status in this small town is effectively placed in the protective custody of whiteness, severed from the Black community surrounded entirely by non-Black people and at an increased risk of violence in this small town. She at one point jokes that "the last Black person to stay [in this town] was Sam Cooke," a prolific Black soul artist who was famously murdered in a motel.
Tumblr media
The racial tensions in the movie are tonally consistent with the film's self-aware insistence on its own levity, poking fun at itself and acknowledging racial and gender regimes, but ultimately suggesting they can be overcome.
Noxeema: You and your causes! Look, that child is Latin. You don’t want to get mixed up in all that Latin mess. She might turn out to be a Sandinista or something.
Vida: Noxeema Jackson! I have to admit that I am shocked and just a little bit saddened by you. I mean you of all people. Hon, I remember the first time I laid eyes on a certain ebony enchantress in the rough, and how through styling and the occasional makeup tip I helped her look a little bit less like Moms Mabley. And who would think that ebony enchantress would one day share a title with moi.
In an atmosphere where whiteness is presented as the absolute authority, the exchange fails to fully present itself as an examination as racism among people of color and ultimately portrays Vida, who is white, as the gatekeeper of Noxeema's successful identity as a drag queen.
To Wong Foo, ultimately, is optimistic about the possibilities for a multiracial, post-gender regime world--it imagines a world where drag queens take over the town and racial tensions can be assuaged with the power of friendship. It mostly neutralizes race as a factor in the marginalization of the girls, and its depiction of state violence at the hands of an idiotic, bumbling sheriff who is scared of change holds a mirror to conservatism and distorts it like a fun house in return.
Questions:
How does the film's casting of three mainstream straight, male actors as drag queens contribute to the racial and gender politics of To Wong Foo?
What might the levity of the film regarding racial and gendered violence contribute to it?
How does drag as a performance art relate to racial embodiment in general? How might it play into the film specifically?
Ciao Italia: Live from Italy by Madonna 1988 Pop / Dance-Pop
Folks, I've got a full concert video for you all today, and it's one of the greatest performers in the history of popular music, the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna, rocking a pair of stages in front of absolutely massive crowds in the country of her lineage, Italy, while closing out the final leg of her revolutionary debut Who's That Girl world tour in 1987. Her sets would grow to become far more elaborate than this one, but what she was doing here, which she termed as "Broadway in a stadium," was something the likes of which no one had ever really seen before. Madonna's set had pageantry, choreography, multimedia, and so much coordination that really conceptually expanded on the ideas of what a concert could be, which was a lot more than just someone merely playing some of their songs for an audience. Ciao Italia is a full package; a carefully constructed and extensively planned 100-minute spectacle of what was unparalleled vivacity at that time.
Throughout this show, which appears to actually be a full set spliced together from two different concert dates, Madonna goes through a bunch of costume changes while re-creating some of the vibes from a bunch of her songs' own music videos. Notably, she doesn't actually take a single break in order to change into and out of any of those outfits, though, until she comes back to kick off her encore with "La Isla Bonita" in a red flamenco dress. Madonna may leave the stage for a quick second, or jump into a suddenly appearing phone booth, but for those few fleeting moments that she's not actually visible, the anticipation for her to return as a different character builds.
My only real gripe here is that, because the music is performed by a live band in an enormous stadium, the sound really isn't nearly as crisp or enjoyable as the original studio recordings themselves. But that's also probably to be expected with a show that was taped at a large outdoor venue over 35 years ago and was then pressed to VHS. However, with this sacrifice in overall sound quality also comes some excellent shots of the seemingly endless crowd too, who, against Pope John Paul II's own wishes—to whom Madonna dedicates "Papa Don't Preach"—adoringly came out to bear witness to her own brilliance as a tireless showwoman. And just like a Broadway show, there is way more to take in from this whole presentation than just the music anyway, which was an idea that Madonna really seemed to start to pioneer with this whole tour in the first place.
Now, by today's standards, a set like this from such an eminent superstar might seem a tad quaint, but understand two things here: Madonna's shows would go on to evolve greatly from this one, and most importantly, a lot of what you've seen on stage from a litany of pop princesses and divas that have sprung up since can be traced back to the innovative nature of this iconic tour itself. And this video is well worth a rainy day watch in order for us all to appreciate that fact 😊.
H.M. The Queen's speech at a concert in connection with The Queen's 80th birthday
Stockholm
Your Majesty, Your Royal Highnesses, Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear friends
For a long time I have had a dream to do something in connection to my birthday for all those who have been active on the boards of my six foundations:
World Childhood foundation,
Mentor Foundation,
Stiftelsen Silviahemmet,
Care about the Children,
Drottning Silvias stiftelse för forskning och utbildning,
Stiftelsen Drottning Silvias Jubileumsfond.
And now you are all gathered in this beautiful concert hall. I am so happy to see you here tonight!
Five of these foundations are working with making the world a better place for our children and young people – our future.
The foundation, Silviahemmet, is focused on dementia and Alzheimer, a subject that also is, as you all know, very close to my heart.
It is hard work to create, build and maintain a sustainable foundation. I know and I appreciate all the effort that you have put down all these years to make these organizations what they are today. I am so proud and thankful!
I could stand here all evening and talk about memories of our work together. About all the times it felt difficult and maybe even impossible, when it felt like we had a steep hill to climb. But I would also like to talk about, how we have given each other the strength to carry on - through the belief in the importance of continuing this meaningful work. And, most importantly, about the results we have achieved! That would take the whole evening!
Lastly, let me express my warmest thanks to Lilla Akademien, for enabling me to thank all of you through a beautiful concert.
After the concert HM the King and I are happy to invite you to a drink.
I am very much looking forward to this evening! Thank you!
bio;
Ever since he was born Crown Prince of Austria, Dominik knew who he was going to be.
He lived a sheltered life. During the cold Austrian winters, Dominik enjoyed the wonderful music his father had playing all over the palace.
It was his father’s enjoyment of live music that got Dominik interested in the art. Every chance he could, Dominik was dragging someone, being a guard or the rare occasion one of his parents to take him to the latest comper’s concerts
Once his siblings were born, Dominik was quick to take the role of big brother. First with the twins and most importantly the youngest Reich.
When King Leopold passed, Dominik took the crown at the age of nineteen. He took the role of king seriously. He was ready to take over the throne.
Dominik was a just and fair king. One that loved social gathering for his people. The people of Austria were an important thing for the young king.
On the throne, Dominik always supported the arts. Musicians, composers, artists were always welcome to the palace for a showcase. Even once a month, Dominik would host up and coming artist to play for him and his family
His favorite shows besides the music were the ballet dancers that accompanied the music.
Dominik fancied a couple of dancers during his youth.
His bachelor life didn’t last long as he was soon betrothed. It was quick after that he was married and had a queen at his side.
They were blessed with their first son, Felix.
Then the plague swept across his land. Dominik panicked. With his newborn son, he took all the precautions.
He locked up his family into the palace, separating them from the sickness outside. For five years, no music flowed out of the palace of Austria.
With each passing year, Dominik knew he was slowly breaking his family. Keeping them locked inside, but he justified it with their protection. After hearing of other royals not being spared from this plaque, he was not taking any chances.
After five long years, Dominik slowly opened back the doors to the palace. But not without restraints.
He even agreed for him and family to travel to Portugal. He was still very cautious being wary with everyone he met.
Connections:
Neighboring Kingdoms: Any country and borders Austria, Dom would have befriended them.
Any plots please.
Women who sparkle like Mercury
THE LADS may have been the stars of the show at the Freddie Mercury Wembley tribute. But it was the girls who glittered at the lavish party at Browns nightclub later. Flake advert girl Debbie Leng, long-standing girlfriend of Queen's Roger Taylor, topped the fashion stakes in clinging catsuit and elaborate necklace. And Paula Yates showed her husband Bob Geldof it's possible to be colourful without wearing the sofa covers. Model Stacy Smith, wife of Paul Young, was in sparkling form, and superstar Liza Minnelli found that Queen guitarist Brian May — accompanied by former EastEnders actress Anita Dobson — is one of her greatest fans.
[MRS LINDA JAMES A picture on Page 3 of yesterday's Daily Express was incorrectly captioned as Mary Austin. It was, in fact, of Mrs Linda James, who attended the Freddie Mercury tribute concert. We apologise for any embarrassment.]
First Lady of AIDS
Taylor takes on a new role
LIZ TAYLOR touched down at the airport looking slim and sensational at 60. The caption writers reached for the "age cannot wither her, nor custom stale her infinite variety” quote from her most famous role — Cleopatra.
What is it that's brought the smile back to the Queen of the Nile? Putting it straight: AIDS. Her flagging reputation has been given the kiss of life by the virus.
There she was on Monday night in front of an audience of 72,000 for the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium, giving the hammiest performance of a hammy career.
She all but went into a Bohemian Rhapsody about condoms and generally urged the youth of today to encase itself in rubber and not share needles.
"Protect yourselves," she pleaded with tremulous voice and quivering lip. "The world needs you to live.
Arguable, if the evidence of several hours of Def Leppard and all the other sound-alikes these 72,000 paid to hear were anything to go by.
“You are the best and brightest, the shining light that will illuminate a better world tomorrow…" Good grief, let's hope she didn't pay a scriptwriter for that.
Close at hand was Larry Fortensky, her seventh husband but her first from the construction industry, who now escorts her round the AIDS charity circuit on both sides of the Atlantic.
And what a party it has been for Liz ‘n’ Larry so far. Thank goodness she picked an exceptionally enlightened brickie, not one likely to share an anti-gay joke over the hod with his mates.
AIDS has given Liz a whole new starring role. After all, it has been a long time since Cleopatra.
Who said not long enough? Unlike the dewy eye, the parts dried up long ago.
Liz was forced to star in her own drama of drink, men and self-destruction. All very well, but costly in terms of drying-out fees.
And being pushed about various airports, bloated and wedged into a wheelchair, must have been losing its novelty as a photo-opportunity.
She had tried the last refuge of a Hollywood legend — bringing out your own scent and touting it round the promotional counters — when she was saved by the arrival of the incurable disease of the late 20th Century.
AND not just any old disease, but a high-profile one with a heavy presence on America's West Coast, handy for her Bel Air home. Thousands of victims in Africa but, more importantly from the PR point of view, a few glamorous names nearer to hand.
But in the case of Freddie Mercury, who died of AIDS last November, is glamour a big enough word? Should we be talking greatness here?
One of his few profundities not set to music was: "New York is Sin City. I just slut myself. My sex drive is enormous. I've got a big bed and it can sleep six."
Another shining light, eh?
Still, it has all been great PR for Liz, whose Tinseltown tiara was beginning to tarnish.
Now she's the First Lady of AIDS and she may soon be more famous for that than for getting married. And how well she looks on it.
Every cloud, as they say, has a silver lining for someone.
The Vtuber Community Greatly Suffers From The Worst Aspects Of Its Inspirations.
You may be going "Ahleeze- what do you mean by that? The Vtuber community markets itself as this amazing place where you can portray yourself as whoever and whatever you want!" Yeah- that's more or less a lie. It's an accepting community so long as you don't criticize it. And that's primarily because of the fact that the audience and culture that vtubers as a community have adopted are all the absolutely worst aspects of it. It's a weird amalgamation of anime, idol, gaming, and content creation culture, but all the worst aspects of it. I'll try and break it down as I go so it's a bit less of a scrambled post of thoughts.
Also, just a disclaimer, of course this doesn't apply to everyone, it's just some observations I've seen in my time as a vtuber and the issues that are prevalent in the community.
Anime Community - Obviously since most vtubers have an "anime" style to them, it was bound to attract people who were interested in anime. More importantly, people who now had "2d Waifus" they could actually interact with and give money. However, there's a reason why some people won't touch anime fandoms with a ten foot pole. There is a LOT of bigoted anime fans. Transphobic, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, you name it. All of them are especially prevelant in those communities. You can see it when people make black edits of characters. You can see it in One Piece and Guilty Gear discourse (you know the ones). You ESPECIALLY see it when a woman happens to know literally anything on a subject and corrects someone. A good example I've seen is the JJBA fandom shitting on Jolyne for shit literally every other Joestar has done. Like- they're quiet when everyone else did it, but Jolyne does it and now all of the sudden its a problem.
Same thing happens to Vtubers. If your model / you:
Doesn't pass the paper bag test
Isn't super thin
Don't have breast that breast breastily
Isn't a literal child in appearance
Don't have a deep enough or high enough voice
Doesn't match your voice
Openly LGBTQ+
Openly fight for the rights of marginalized and oppressed groups
Talk on literally any social issue
You're basically in for a world of annoyance and trolls almost 24/7. And that's from both Vtubers AND Vtuber fans. Look at literally any corporate Vtuber's fans when they get crticized for something. Watch how fast they are to attack LGBTQ+ people and POC over daring to think a negative thought about their 2D anime waifu. There are plenty of POC who are vtubers and get NOTHING but hate comments and deal with absolutely unfair treatment because of the anime fans that also happen to overlap in Vtuber communities.
Oh, and don't get me started on if a vtuber dare says "lolishos DNI". Because people will get in a fucking TIZZY over how their waifu is actually 90000 years old and its a-okay to like them! That's also just an unfortuntate byproduct of anime culture that seeped into Vtubing. Especially when there are vtubers who call themselves "lolis" and openly make lewd content.
There's also the weird pressure people feel to have Japanese names and that's sparked a lot of discourse in the community. Also that some people end up being offensive by using westernized depictions of Japanese culture to seem more "anime".
Idol Culture - A lot of the words Vtubers use ("oshi" for example), are taken from idol culture. However, it's been time to ditch the "idol culture" since the whole thing started. It's cool to want to be a vtuber who does stuff like sing, or do concerts, but so many have twisted it into this weird competitive space where parasocial relationships thrive. God forbid you set up a boundary, talk about a social issue, or post a selfie.
For those that down know, vtubing used to (and still kinda is to some people) about "immersion". They want to watch the dommy mommy demon queen be seductive and everything else on stream. Once you ruin that immersion, some people get annoyed, others get pissed. And for no reason other than it's breaking the "immersion" that so many vtubers use as a sort of marketing. It's a lot of online personas. And getting people to fall in love with those online personas. Some people feel pressured to "play nice" and allow people who make them uncomfortable in their communities because of the fact that if they say something about it, then they're "cutting off their community".
Then there's the absolute obsession with being entirely "unique". Look at how many orca-themed vtubers get called Shylily wannabes. To the point they've had to unfortunately ban the other streamer's name in their chat! Or dog boys that get called Shxtou wannabes. Hell, I've seen guys called wannabes for just having the same COLOR SCHEMES. And it doesn't help that other vtubers will start pointing fingers at each other. Whether it's for clout or because they geniuenly think their concept can be the only one in the space. I saw discourse over someone's friend deciding on the same NAME as them.
Content Creation Culture - This is more about the constant push that vtubers say you need to do in order to be succesful. Constantly saying you need to spread yourself thin across every platform that you possibly can. Upload content everywhere. Constantly make content even if you're tired. It's exhausting, and leaves disabled peopel out of the conversation most of the time. Even then- it still pushes non-disabled people into burnout.
On top of that, it promotes being mean to each other because people are rewarded for that in engagement. Creating drama allows people to get attention, and constantly promotes "any publicity is good publicity". On top of that, it constantly switches the roles of what's a serious issue and whats drama. Things like sexual assault and harassment is considered drama when it's called out, but when someone traces emotes it's the most serious issue in the world and needs to be talked about for the next month. The same drama and discourse is passed around every week like it's a new thing, meanwhile actual issues are pushed to the side. They also conveniently coincide with each other. Women talk about men abusing their power and status in content creation? Suddenly the new big talk is about how men are treated horribly and they need more love and support since they are the few against the many in vtubing. It's the same cycle over and over.
Someone posts a really shitty take, everyone responds. That person gets a shit ton of engagement. They get discovered from it. They find more shitty people to join their audience. It happens over and over again and people fall for it every time. People pit entire communities against each other because they know it will get traction. All the "vtuber news" channels you see are just reskinned drama channels that barely add any substance to what they're "reporting" on, but they build their entire fanbase upon it. They don't even have the decency to censor names and then shrug when people come to them saying they're being harassed. There's entire channels based on harassing others and vtubers and people see it as normal. But engagement and "exposure" is supposed to be a good thing.
It also pushes others to be nasty towards each other and fight each other for the spotlight. It just sucks and people constantly try and treat it like a good thing.
In conclusion, the vtubing space isn't all people market it to be, and they will hound you down if you criticize it because "that's what the space has always been". That or you're brushed down to wanting attention and it's just so annoying that people tend to ignore all this to "keep the peace". Women can't speak out or else we're called clout seekers. POC can't speak out or else they're called attention seekers and drama-causers. LGBTQ+ people can't speak out or else we're making everything about ourselves. And you certainly can't criticize the corporate Vtubers or else their entire fanbase will come and likely get your account suspended.
I spent six days in Berlin. Now I’m coming back. It’s a six-ish hour train ride from where I live in Poland. I got a tattoo from a Polish person living in Berlin. It’s a pearl on my ankle. I went to a rave. I accidentally went to a drag show in a small art gallery that belonged to the drag queen. I drank tequilla. I raced in shopping carts. I bought art prints. I partied till like 7 am and woke up at 10:30 am today. I went to a free concert in an art studio. I did a mean rich anime girl laugh all of the time. I sang Ethel Cain’s Crush almost everyday. Most importantly, I spent five days with almost all of my most beloved friends, except for one.
I have read Queen of the Damned. I really liked it, it was fun to see the different POV's but I kinda wish we had gotten to see Gabrielle's or Louis's I would have happily read an extra 50 or 100 pages if it meant seeing how they feel about the whole thing instead of just getting small glimpses of it through the other characters, or to have gotten their POV instead of the Baby Jenks chapter which to be sincere I did not care for, but anyways, I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of what the story of the twins was and the meaning of the dreams/visions, that was probably my favorite part. I know this gets messed with in later books in the series but for now, I get to enjoy learning the story of how vampires came to be in this world.
I feel so bad for Lestat, he got himself into one of those fuck you up for life toxic relationships and he already had issues this did not help him. So many times reading this I was like Lestat, baby, run don't walk, run. That being said I like Akasha as a villain, I can't help but feel a little sorry for her and I can understand why she reached the conclusion she did but I, myself, have questions regarding her plan, I can't forgive her messing with Lestat's mind the way she did, and most importantly I can never forgive her for what she did to Mekare, Maharet, and Khayman like she had points but how is she gonna judge anyone with the shit she pulled when she, herself, was a human. Also, I can't picture her with the alabaster skin so I'm choosing to ignore that.
As for the other characters/relationships.
Devil's Minion 💖💖💖 I love them. Highlight of this book, favorite chapter, new favorite romantic pairing after Louis and Lestat, they are so cute together; yeah there are some very messed up aspects to their relationship but they are also weirdly sweet, and there was domesticity and they built a life together! And Armand loves Daniel so much, and he wants to keep him safe, and Daniel loves Armand completely even the most fucked up parts of him- I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it, but I really do think this relationship was good for Armand, I feel like we see him grow. And, actually, this is the most I have enjoyed reading Armand so far, if you know me you know I'm actually not a big fan of this character but progress was made in a positive way in this book. I do know that sadly this relationship isn't something we see a lot of in the next books but at least I have their chapter to cling to and nobody can take them from me.
Speaking of favorite romantic pairings: Louis and Lestat, my OTP, my favorite vampires, my babies, the hold they have on me increases with every book. The fact that Louis is the first person Lestat showed his new powers too, I am screaming. Also Khayman saying that Louis was at Lestat's concert out of love and that "Louis would go where Lestat led him. Louis would perish if Lestat perished." Khayman is a Loustat shipper pass it on.
I really liked Khayman (not just because of that line!) he wants companionship so badly, someone please get him a friend. He's like a golden retriever, every fellow vampire he meets he wants to befriend.
I ended up liking Jesse a surprising amount, her chapter was one of my favorites and I really hope that when this gets adapted to the show we get that moment of her exploring Louis and Lestat's old apartment and encountering Claudia's ghost because it's one of my favorite scenes, it was so creepy.
I love Maharet, she has so been through so much but she is so resilient, and she never stopped looking out for her family and her daughter, and connection for her is so important.
I'm glad for Mekare that she got to defeat Akasha, it took thousands of years but she finally made her pay for what she did to her and her sister.
Gabrielle, not nearly enough of her, but I continue to love her.
Marius...I have complicated feelings about Marius. I like how he is with Lestat, I like their relationship and that he's sort of like a father figure to him. But at the same time, there's something that keeps me from fully liking him, and part of that might be his relationship with Armand cause I don't really like it.....
All that being said, I wish Rolin Jones the best of luck adapting this book when the time comes, I don't know how he and the rest of the writers are going to do it because it's a lot happening all at the same time but I very much look forward to seeing this be properly adapted.
And with this, I am officially done with the OG trilogy! Ranking-wise, for me, I would say it goes: TVL, IWTV, and then this one.
Now it is time for me to hop into the rollercoaster that is the rest of this series....
Then one night, while working late, she draws the Knight of Swords, a card of impulsive action. She takes it as clear evidence that the tarot cards do not work. She dismisses it and takes a memo up to the CEO's office, where her own knight of swords comes crashing into her life in an irreversible way.
Love Will Find You by TaraB1915 (Oliver/Felicity, 41/41, 2022-03-24) - Oliver Queen meets Felicity Smoak for the first time AFTER his release from Slabside. {How will that be} With no love in his life and no one to harness the last remnants of light inside of him, Oliver's killer instincts remain strong. Beneath the surface he is not coping with his PTSD, heightened by his time in Slabside. Events will force him to confront his mental health and the struggle with his Green Arrow identity. Felicity Smoak is the unapologetic trust fund babe, with a big heart hidden beneath it all. Their first meeting does not begin well but she is his salvation.
Safe Moments: Part Two by sec982 (Oliver/Felicity, 21/21, 2022-03-14) - After the trial of Dr. Natural and Roy's kidnapping and injection with Mirakuru, Oliver is on edge. Felicity is heavily pregnant, and the whole team is worried about whether or not Slade Wilson is really back. The recasting of moments from the second half of season two in the safe universe. You do need to read the rest of the series first, but it's worth it!
This Life to the Next by SmoakingGreenArrow, smoakqueenfam (Oliver/Felicity, 20/20, 2022-03-22) - Hiking deep in the Hindu Kush mountains with her fiance, Felicity Smoak stumbles upon a small village and a young woman, whose palm reading abilities throw her for a loop. Felicity doesn’t expect this woman’s words to have an everlasting effect on her. Later that evening, with a buzzing sound ringing in her ears, she follows a path to a waterfall that transports her life back 100 years to a man who throws her world completely off track. Surrounded by men in long black cloaks, and masks covering their faces, Felicity fights the overwhelming urge to run. Instead she is met with crystal clear blue eyes that ground her in a way she didn’t quite understand. An instant chemistry forms, along with an abundance of questions. Who is this man? Where is she? Why is she here? And most importantly, how will she make it back to Ray? Or more importantly, will she want to? An Olicity Outlander AU
I spent the weekend & past few days visiting friends in the Finger Lakes area, going to Niagara for the eclipse, and then ending in Corning for the glass museum and nearby Watkins Glen
Super fun overall but I noticed that there was a noticeable amount of retired people taking the same exact routes as me lmao
Do I have geriatric tastes? Were there just more of them because a lot of these events happened during the normal workday?? Most likely both
Moments I want to remember:
Watched a roller derby match in person, coolest and toughest gals around. Both teams and the fans went out for drinks after too and just all-around good vibes
Got the last seats at a fancy French restaurant for dinner - and the meal was on the company dime too hehe
Had a frangipane dessert for the first time and it had apricots and was amazing
Slept on a couch with a cat as my little spoon
My car may be slightly larger than my old one but the gas tank is NOT - do not wait until next rest stop bitch just go
Buffalo is actually a sizable city unlike the other upstate NY "cities"
Went to Buffalo's Dinosaur BBQ after they closed the Newark location which I miss. Ribs were so tender and tasty but overall the meal was miles short of the Texas barbeque I had last year
The NY part of Niagara Falls was far more enjoyable than the Canada side imo - it was a lot of walking paths and nature-focused attractions and the views were adjacent to the falls which I preferred. Canada side felt like an NJ boardwalk (derogatory) tourist trap and the falls views are across the river and farther away - more activities so good for families with kids or longer stays but less ideal for a 1-day visit like I did
Had my first Tim Hortons experience and it was like a cleaner Dunkin Donuts (DD my beloved I still love you more)
Went on one of the boats that goes straight into the area at the bottom of the Niagara waterfalls - a couple on board renewed their vows Jim & Pam style underneath the falls
Got DRENCHED on that boat ride, which I could have easily avoided but I was at the absolute tip of the bow, and it was cold and early April and a 30 min walk to my accommodation
Experienced ~eclipse totality~ for the first time! It was cloudy so no money-shot photo of the sun being overtaken, but got to experience the dark and the craziness with it. The birds all got confused, the streetlights all turned on, and it suddenly got so cold I could see my breath. Something about thousands of people gathered in one place and cheering and being giddy with joy together was so fun lol, felt like a concert or something but instead just staring at the sun
Stayed at the cutest accommodations, where it was a historical "castle" (mansion extended with additions to become an early doctors office and eventual B&B) and had the kindest host. The house was BEAUTIFUL and was filled with antiques and trinkets. The host was so passionate about the history of the building and making sure guests were comfy and knew about events going on nearby. She singly-handedly cooked a breakfast buffet daily and cut up a plate of fruit for each room AND cleaned all the rooms after check outs what a queen
Went to a local Niagara coffee shop that turned out to be a not-for-profit that provides a cool community space and meals for those who need it - most importantly got a delicious cappuccino
Visited the Corning Museum of Glass and easily could have spent twice as long there if it wasn't just a stop on my way home. They have an impressive collection and a bunch of live demonstrations, definitely worth a visit if you can
Looking back on my afternoon at Blenheim Palace, I realized I actually spent my time at a product of mixed use development. The 18th century castle was probably built for two main reasons: to house the Duke of Marlborough and his family (as well generations and generations of his family to come), as well as act as a symbol for British nobility. Funnily enough, we now enter it on a day where costumes from various Netflix series are found in its corridors and Lionel Richie is set to play a concert in the main court tonight. The estate just northwest of Central London doesn’t seem urban at first— the green land and various gardens stretch over 12,000 acres and the small neighborhood adjacent to the estate houses a small 3000 residents. However, when examining the current uses of the land, and more importantly, how it brings in profit, it is clear to me that the palace has become completely urbanized.
First, the most obvious effect of urbanization is the transition from this palace being a home to a tourist attraction and British history exhibit. Aside from being one of the beautiful estates that provides picture-perfect views, it also offers the history of iconic British monarchs and figures such as Queen Anne and Sir Winston Churchill. Furthermore, the palace has been used as filming spots for various films and TV shows, giving tourists the opportunity to dance in the same hall as their favorite Bridgerton characters or visit one of the forests of Harry Potter. With these aspects added to the palace (while the family still lives in a portion of it), tourists have more incentive to make the trip to pay for transportation, buy tickets, and spend the day (of walking, eating, and shopping) at the estate. Another impact of urbanization on the Palace is the decision to use it as a venue— the incorporation of modern day technology and necessity for labor, as well as booking huge names and food trucks to accommodate and entertain consumer, really changes the space.
March 24 2023, Friday - 9:48am
The goddess, the queen, the absolute living legend dropped a new album today. I stayed up all night to listen to the entire album at 12:00am. Honestly, I’m not too big of a fan of this album. It had it’s good songs tho, I enjoyed the first 3 she released as well as a couple from the album, but I’m a die hard Ultraviolence fan. I love the song Sad Girl and Shades of Cool and Pretty When You Cry and Ultraviolence and…the entire album pretty much. But I do love her unreleased songs, as much as she hates them being “unreleased”. Playing Dangerous and For K (part 2). I’m really hoping Lana does another tour because if I were to be blessed enough to attend one of her concerts, I’d come out of that venue a whole new person.
Also, I think I’m slowly becoming the worst version of myself. I normally don’t talk about this kind of stuff because I find it cringe but I lowkey think I’m turning into some kind of virgin whore. I’ve never done shit with a guy other than makeout with one while blackout drunk at a party, but I know that a lot of guys would love to be with me. Not trying to be cocky or anything, but even if I have self image issues, I can recognize that I can make myself conventionally attractive most of the time.
I’ve been doing a lot of research on this new genre of attitude becoming more and more common throughout social media called femcel or female rage. However, I find it extremely stupid as it’s not some kind of aesthetic or style but instead a mindset or female version of the male sigma. American Pyscho, Donnie Darko, Fight Club, all those kinds of movies would be considered ‘male sigma’, mentally ill men who have some kind of complex that make them feel also they aren’t real, or superior to others. For women, it’s Midsommer, Black Swan, Virgin Suicides, and most importantly, Pearl. Earlier I stated how I find myself to relate greatly to Pearl, but not in the sense that I find myself to be a femcel, whatever the hell that even is. These feelings that women on the internet are grouping into the feminine rage category are all such common feelings, something that comes along with being human. As these women grow older, or should I say teenage girls, they’ll look back at this phase they’ve created and realize that what they were feeling was not some unknown emotion that groups them into the superior race of sigma or mentally ill, but feelings that you come to aquire as you grow older than a child. However, I do find this new genre so interesting that if I ever write a book or direct a movie, I’ll be taking each of the characters related to this genre and creating one character.
On that topic, I’ve been creating a story in my head for a long time now. A very long time. So long that if it doesn’t become published or viewable for the public at some point in my life, I may or may not go mentally insane. Yet, I haven’t written any of it down. I don’t need to. I can picture it all so vividly, so absolutely perfect, that I don’t need to write it down because I can view exactly how I want it to go down in my head. I know each character, I know their appearance and personality, I know the entire soundtrack of what would take part in a movie series of this idea, I know the setting, the plot points, conflicts, everything. Although, it is inspired greatly by other things I’ve consumed from media. Not great enough for it to be a complete copy, but great enough that you could see the similarities if you know what media I’ve taken it from. The story would be a slasher, horror, psychological movie where the main character is the antagonist. The killer. A teenage girl who has this entire genre surrounding her life. She’s seen as fragile, innocent, beautiful, and delicate. This persona she puts on allows her to get away with the string of killings she’s commiting in her small town. Killings of students at the only highschool in town. The title of this is still unknown, but only because I need to great such an amazing, perfectly fitting title for this so it really is the perfect story. The girl is struggling with a bad homelife, living only with her drunken father who sees her for who she really is. She knows she’s not the perfect girl she shows her self as, but instead of doing anything about it to stop her, he punishes her on his own. He has for quite some time, which was one of the main reasons she began to kill. She’d kill anyone who did something wrong, not only to her, but to others in general. She’d kill people who recieved something they don’t deserve or people who brag on and on about something they shouldn’t have. Each time she would kill, her image would breakdown a little bit more. She was losing her sanity. Her fathers punishments would get worse with each kill, he knew it was her. Her only friend, Elijah, began to notice her downfall and began to question her with his girlfriend, Roxie. Halfway through the story, a copycat killer comes into the ring. Their motive to kill is different, they’re people who’ve wronged her directly, but it’s not her. She knows whoever this copycat is must be someone she knows, but whatever they’re doing is only bringing the cops right to her. She’s losing time, but she’s beginning to suspect her father to be the copycat killer, knowing he wouldn’t turn her in on his own, but he’d do what he could to lead her right to her prison cell. She wanted to kill him, but that too would send her straight into the hands of the judge. It took her sometime to develop a plan, but she knew her best option was to kill her father and flee the state, maybe even country, before it was too late. But just as she gathers the courage to finish the job herself, she goes to the living room to find her father already murdered by the one and only Roxie. Roxie admits that shes been obsessed with her since they met, regardless if she was dating Elijah or not, and knew no other way to become closer with her than to kill the people who treated her wrong. Roxie thought that maybe then she’d get her attention, and she couldn’t be more right. She agrees to bring Roxie with her to flee the town of hell and they run off together, that ending being the end of the first story.
Second one would show Roxie as the main character and a bit of her backstory, still unknown, and how she ran off with the girl to continue on with their lives across the country. Roxie and the girl are polar differences, and Roxie finds herself blind to this. She thinks that her and the girl are meant to be, star crossed lovers, partners in crime. But little does she know that as the story goes on, the girl begins to despise Roxie. Roxie is relentless and careless, continuing on to murder people in their new area without even trying to be secretive or clean. The girl hates this, as she is the opposite of Roxie and always double or even triple checks that theres no way to trace her back to the crime. However, the girl keeps up her image that she’s obident to Roxie and tries not to show that she was planning to kill her. Then one night, they’re both sitting down at opposite ends of the table for a nice dinner that Roxie insisted they attend. Theres clearly built up tension between them, specificallyat the girls end, but Roxie is known to be a dunce and doesn’t realize how much the girl was holding back. Roxie rambles on and on during the dinner, overtaking the music the girl had put on in hopes to drown out both Roxie and her own thoughts, but that wasn’t working out. Finally, Roxie begins to explain her plan for her next killing, someone important to the community, and that strikes the girl very quickly. The girl questions her thought process on how she expects to get away with it, but Roxie tells her to relax and allow her to do what she needs to do. The girl smiles back, an unhinged look in her eye, before getting up to take a second in the kitchen to herself. She does everything she can to compose herself, but that breadknife on the counter is practically screaming to be used. She takes the knife and sneaks up on Roxie at the table, killing her right then and there, and allowing the story to be bought back to her perspective. She fines herself to finally be free, having a moment of breakthrough and dancing around in the pool of blood left by Roxie. And once again, she flees to another country and starts over. Story two over.
Edit from June 13th, 2023 - Tuesday: this story has been and continues to change every time I go to think about this so now that i’m rereading it, I’m laughing at how pathetic it was. But it’s growing into something beautiful, I swear.
Third story, starts off with a news report of Roxie and the entire story of what they called “the student slaughterer”. The girl was able to successfully frame Roxie for every killing commited in both communities they left in as well as faking her own death by leaving behind a few toes and teeth, compsoing some elaborate story of how Roxie was an obsessive stalker of her and eventually became overwhelmed with jealousy and killed her before killing herself. In the new place, the girl finds herself to be liked greatly by her peers now that she’s completely altered her identity. She’s making new friends, doing great in school, and best of all, not killing anyone. It doesn’t take long for a boy to begin to develop feelings for her and ask her out, to which she contains her normal outlook and accepts it. Only after did she find out that the boy is infatuated with crime and mystery, specifcally over the crimes that she had commited. He can somehow see right through the story she built up for Roxie and knew that the other girl involved, herself, had to be the mastermind behind it all. But, his stupidity restricts him from seeing right through the girl and doesn’t even notice the resemblance, only to find himself falling in love with the girl. They continue to date for the story and eventually, she agrees to help him with his home investigation to help him find the true murderer behind the many killings commited. Finally, they’ve found themselves sitting outside and going over the entire case before the girl points something out. She tells him he’s wrong about something, he asks how she knows, and with a fit of insanity, she admits to him that she’s the one who was behind it all. He, of course, is completely dumbfounded and betrayed as she explains every step she took throughout the entire case, rambling to him how clever she is that not even those who dedicate their whole lives to finding her can see that she’s right in front of him. She goes on to tell him she’s never loved him, but instead found it amusing to be there next to him while he pushed him down a path of completely wrong evidence of the case, throwing him right of her trail. Then, just as she was about to push him from the cliff, he turns around and pushed her instead, finally ending the series.
The thing about this series, though, is that it’s not meant to be scary or understandable or even unpredictable, it’s meant to be how easily the girl is able to find beauty in such terrible acts she commits. With almost every murder, she leaves their body in a way of what she considers art for the police to find them as, at some points even convering herself in their blood. She’s an artist.
God, I am so bored. I just got back from an hour and a half lunch break, smelling like fire after almost setting my house to flames toasting english muffins. Who knew putting frozen muffins in a toaster would start a fire?? Not me, jesus. I’m still trying to wrap my head around my earlier notes, continuing to research of course, and I found that the book My Year of Rest and Relaxation is a big part of that whole genre. I’m in the midst of reading it, but it simply doesn’t interest me. It’s boring and I don’t understand how her therapist can’t see through her act, constantly being prescribed with sleeping pills just so she can add an extra hour to her 17 hours of sleep. I mean, I also love to sleep, but 17 hours jesus christ. Get a lobotomy.
No fucking way. I’m trying so hard not to laugh in the office right now after hearing someone over the radio talking about the lawsuit against archive of our own. Thats fucking amazing. See, I’ve read fanfiction, obviously, but shutting down the webstie?? I do agree some people who linger on there seriously need to drink a glass of water while sitting outside to get some fresh air and a tan on their transparent skin, but come on, at least they’re reading. I’ve read fanfiction, but not constantly. I like to read ones that are basically just online books with names of characters I know. Half the time, these characters' personalities aren’t even accurate to their true persona, but the plots are just so damn interesting sometimes.
Heres something super random. I watch a lot of different shows just like how I listen to music. If it’s good, I’ll watch it, I dont care when it was made, who made it, the people in it, nothing. If it’s good, I’ll watch, I’ll listen. I watch anime, not a lot, but the interesting ones. And I think someone seriously needs to do a study on the fact that Attack On Titan is literally the Breaking Bad of anime. Nothing to do with the plot lines or characteristics of either shows, but the fanbase. If you’ve ever seen Family Guy, theres an episode (s11e9) where Peter watches Breaking Bad and all it is is someone repeating over and over again, “You’ll tell your friends to watch the show, the show is amazing, the show is the best show out there” etc, etc. I find that so funny because no matter how many times I attempt to watch Breaking Bad, I just can’t get into it no matter how many times I try. It’s just not important or interesting to me. Same with Attack On Titan, I made it to somewhere in season 3 before giving up and realizing the show just isn’t as good as what everyone says it is. But yet, both fanbases demand that these shows are masterpieces, awardwinners, the all time greatest shows anyone can ever see or make. In my opinion, Attack On Titan is nothing compared to Death Note, but I guess everyone has their own thoughts.
I also need someone to do a study on the amount of fucking fan service in most animes. Like oh my god. Some of them have such amazing plots, absolutely scrum dumpish plot points, but the you’ll be watching it peaceful and all the sudden 2 SIBLINGS are scary close or someone suddenly has no clothes on. Like what the fuck is that? How do people enjoy watching shit like that? It’s not interesting. As soon as I see anything like that, I immediately turn the show off, so how do they still have viewers? That’s the only reason I was actually able to put up with AOT for so long before stopping due to boredom, they had absolutely no fan service. Even the kids shows in anime are terrible for fan service like come on, this is really what you want your kids to see? But like I said, I watch more regular tv than I do anime and if I had to choose one or the other, definitely real shows.
I love Stranger Things, The Office, YOU, Family Guy, Black Mirror, and Midnight Gospel. Majority of the shows I choose either have the mystery/horror concept, or they’re just simple comedy shows. I don’t like romance much unless they extremely interesting and have more than just a relationship. I don’t like action movies unless it’s tragic or the actors are hot. Only action movie I’ve ever seen is Batman Begins, solely because my two favourite dilfs are the hero and the villain, what better combination than that? I know I said earlier I don’t watch things for those reasons, but I have my exceptions. I do, however, love Disney movies. The Lion King is one of my favourite movies of all time, soundtrack is amazing, plotline is amazing, characters are amazing, absolute 10/10 best Disney movie ever created, fight me if you disagree. Just kidding, don’t, my wrists are too weak for that shit. I don’t fight, I kill people by lowering their self esteem to nothing. I’m good with words, but not physical fighting.
I think someones all time favourite song really describes them as a person. And don’t even try saying “Oh, I love all songs! I couldn’t choose just one” bitch shut the fuck up we all have a favourite song stop trying to be different. My favourite song is probably one of the worst and most vile songs in all of history, A Little Piece of Heaven by Avenged Sevenfold. It’s an 8 minute long song all about a man who kill his wife after saying no to his proposal, fucked her dead body, and kept her body perserved so he could keep her forever, but she comes back alive to retake her body and kill him the same way he killed her. They find themselves in the afterlife, get married, and go on a killing spree to live happily ever after. Best fucking song ever. I don’t care if the lyrics are awful, the song is a god damn masterpiece and sounds as if it had been taken straight out of a demonic musical. Love it. Second favourite song? Liquid Smooth by Mitski. Two very different songs, I know, but two songs that I can easily create a story to go with in my head. Mitski, if you ever see this, please let me make a music video for Liquid Smooth, it would be so amazing and fit the song so god damn well, you’d love it. Third favourite song? I was all over her by salvia palth. That song has never failed making me cry.
Other than co-op, I’m part of a class called GENESIS where we learn all about biking, canoeing, hiking, and surviving in the wilderness. Not my thing at all but lowkey enjoying it. It takes up all 4 credits for the semester meaning I’m stuck with the same group of people the entire time. Theres 17 in total in my class, 9 girls and 8 boys, and we’re all extremely different. We have 5 exchange students in the class and they like to situate themselves with each other only, even if they’re not from the same countries. I have a feeling that they secretly think they’re above the rest of us simply because they’re from European countries, but oh well. It’s also very funny to see how different we all are from each other. All of us have much different personalities, sense of style, interests, and I can’t say a single one of us even look similar in the slightest. Obviously, these things are just what makes us human, but I still find it fascinating. We all went to completely different places for co-op, but they’re all fairly normal places. The second week of the class, we took a trip for 4 days to stay in the middle of the woods, learning the basics of the class while also learning more about each other since our teachers like to consider this class “one big family”... yeah no. See, I’ll put up with these people for now, but likely never again. No offense to any of them, they’re all great people, but after being around some people for this long, I’ll be more than happy to go our seperate ways. No hard feelings either, I put most people I meet into this category and like to keep my friend group relatively small. After the trip, I guess you could say we’re all acquaintances, maybe they consider it friendships but not me. It’s just that most of the kids in the class are extroverts who try to make me one too but if I don’t wanna talk, I don’t wanna talk. Either that, or they don’t talk at all. Theres literally no inbetween other than me. I’m also overall not a very friendly or approachable person so I don’t mind that they don’t always want to talk to me or I’m not really anyones first choice, I don’t have a first choice either so theres no problem there. Besides, the only people I’d attempt to befriend would be the exchange students since we all know the friendships with them would be temporary after they go back, but sometimes it’s hard to make conversation with them and I think one of the girls may be holding something against me, but I can’t tell. All I know is that she doesn’t necessarily like me and as their “groups leader”, they all kind of follow suit. It’s funny though because out of most people in the class, I’d say her and I would likely get along the best from the little amount of conversations we’ve had, but I could be wrong.
I just found a pimple in my eyebrow and it hurts really bad. Also, back to the topic of music, I fucking hate the music being created today. Especially what place on radio stations. Currently playing is ABCED fuck you, I can’t fathom enough how much that song makes me want to pour cement in my ears so I never have to hear anything like it again. Another one is Anti-hero by T Swift. I love her and her songs and yeah the new album is okay but I mean damn, after playing it 5 times in an hour it gets a little boring. All the music today is just trying way too hard to remake old songs or even sampling other songs. It’s just not good. In my opinion, the best era for music was the early 2000s going into the 2010s, EARLY 2010s. Every genre of music was absolutely thriving and so many great artists were becoming huge during this time, artists so great that they’re still extremely relevant today.
