Play wrestling with bff Steve and getting giggly when he just straight up manhandles you 😭😭😭
✶ ┄ SORE LOSER !
summary: steve harrington doesn't like to let you win until he realizes how good it feels to lose.
pairing: best friend!steve harrington / f!reader
word count: 1.6k
warnings: a lil bit suggestive towards the end, but nothing crazy
a/n: i got super carried away with this lol i kinda just took this request and ran with it and well... here we are :) enjoy!
Steve never lets you win.
He thinks it’s letting you off too easy.
The boy’s competitive to a fault. He can’t stomach a loss, even if it’s in something as meaningless as a carnival game you only wanted to play for the giant dinosaur plushie that’s half the size of you.
He always ends up giving it to you when he inevitably wins, wearing a big smug smile on his pretty, pink lips. You take it from him with a pout. The childlike scowl is quelled only by the funnel cake he buys you after.
It doesn’t matter what it is — a game of monopoly, trivia questions on the ends of popsicle sticks, taking in the groceries — Steve finds a way to make all of it competitive. He wants to have the most fake money and little fake properties, he wants to shout the answer before anyone else can, he wants to carry more heavy plastic bags than everyone else. Just to say that he did it.
If you put this much effort into school, you’d be in college right now, Harrington, you’d tease.
Not my fault you’re a sore loser, he’d retort. I’ll let you win the next one, sunshine. Promise.
He never does.
You and Steve play-wrestle like a couple of kids. It usually comes out of nowhere. You’ll make fun of him, he’ll shove at you, and you’ll shove back harder. Then it just turns into a game of who’s stronger than who — and it’s always him. Obviously.
You try your hardest to prove your strength, pushing at him with nimble fists and wriggling something fierce in his hold, but you come out red-faced with a participation ribbon laced within his taunts. And even though he’s got several inches on you and quite a bit more muscle, he never lets you win. Ever.
He manhandles you, perhaps a little too rough at times, but it wasn’t like he had to be kind to you. You weren’t dating or anything, you were best friends — this is what a couple of pals do, right?
They play fight on the carpet of the other’s movie room after being told their closest confidant would murder them in a game of fuck, marry, kill between Anthony Michael Hall and Robert Downey Jr. with zero hesitation.
Friends totally force the other onto the ground by grabbing at the bottoms of their thighs before kneeling over them, wrenching their wrists in their grip and pressing their hands to the ground on either their head.
It’s the definition of being best buds. Truly.
For the first time, you manage to get the better of him. You’re pressed beneath his weight, breathing heavy and rapidly tiring, and you wave the white flag of surrender.
Just when Steve's letting you up and swiping a hand through his mussed hair, you force him onto his back and straddle his waist — like he always did to you — and giggle with mirth at the idea of finally beating him.
He doesn’t find a similar enthusiasm in it, though. His tune changes almost immediately.
You beam down at him, the words of a taunt on the tip of your tongue, and you notice how his cheeks flare pink. His honey-colored eyes widen and his mouth falls softly agape. He glows red in embarrassment and you think he’s just upset that he lost, but he sounds like he’s panicking. The words rush out of his mouth — “Alright, shit, fine— you win, sunshine. Get off, alright? Off, off, off.”
His hand swats at the side of your knee to hurry you off him.
“Alright, jeez!” you concede with the roll of your eyes, halfway annoyed that he just can’t let you win anything. “You don’t have to be such a sore loser about it, Harrington—”
You understand his haste in that moment, when you feel him brush your inner thigh. Like, all of him — as in, the boner trapped in the sweatpants he’s wearing, all rock hard and raging in its cotton confines.
Suddenly, you’re just as bashful and panicked as he is.
Your eyes lock at the rock hard realization but neither of you can think of anything to say.
Do you apologize? Do you act like you didn’t feel anything? Do you trust your voice to make a stupid joke so you can move on and forget any of this ever happened? You’re not quite sure.
And in the five-second silence, Steve just wants to die. Internally, he’s praying for a strike of lightning to take him out on the spot because he’s never been more embarrassed in his life.
He’s certain that he’s grossed you out, or worse, made you irreversibly uncomfortable.
In the mess of thoughts running through his head, he tries to rush out some apology that might soothe the awkward air. Your laughter does all the work for him before he can.
It bubbles like sunshine from your mouth, filling the silence and allowing Steve to breathe again. He finds himself chuckling under his breath with you, though he’s still red-faced about it.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Keep laughing, sunshine,” he chides with the roll of his eyes, though a smile hints at the edges of his mouth. He rises on his elbows to look at you. “What was I supposed to do? Your tits were in my face and your ass was on my dick— sorry for being human!”
“Sorry, alright? I’m sorry,” you manage through hearty giggles. You settle finally at his side and look over at him, still grinning. “Want me to leave so you can… take care of it or whatever?”
He knows you’re joking but he shakes his head anyway. “Nah, it’ll go away. Let’s just… finish this stupid movie.”
“Stupid movie? You picked it!”
“Yeah, so I could see Kelly Lebrock in a bikini!” he argues back, more thankful for the familiar bickering than he ever thought he’d be. “But you made me miss it!”
“It’s not my fault you can’t keep your hands to yourself.”
“Watch it, sunshine,” he grumbles, half-heatedly. “Don’t start something you can’t finish.”
“I think you’re the one who needs to worry about finishing, Harrington,” you joke and giggle when he shoves you.
You would’ve helped him, if he wanted you to. You know it’s uncomfortable and that it’s partially your fault. You also know that all of those are just excuses to cover up the fact that you’ve always wondered what his cock looks like.
He’d need only ask you, but you know that he won’t.
Even if he did like you in that way, it’d just make things all complicated. And that was totally the opposite of the effortless relationship you’ve developed with him. The kind of effortless where he can be rock hard next to you, and you’ve both decided to just move on from it.
Steve, meanwhile, spends the rest of the movie not watching a single damn minute of it. He’s too busy trying to calm himself down like a teenage boy and figuring out he can get you on top of him again without being too obvious about the whole thing.
He decides he might just start swallowing his pride and let you win sometimes.

'Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan revealed he cast his own daughter in a daring scene and watched her become gravely injured on screen during filming for the highly anticipated flick.
The famed filmmaker revealed that his movie exploring the life of atomic bomb creator J Robert Oppenheimer, featured a gruesome cameo by one of his nearest and dearest.
Explaining that his daughter Flora, 22, stepped up to take on the role of a girl whose face becomes damaged during an explosion that plays out in the main character’s mind, Christopher said the idea came to him while his wife and offspring were visiting him on set.
The creative’s wife and producer Emma Thomas and their daughter came to have a look around the production sets while the film was still being made.
Not the first time Flora has leant her dad a helping hand, the budding actresspreviously appeared as an extra in his 2014 film Interstellar.
She is currently a student at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and will graduate with the class of 2024.
Christopher told the Telegraph: ‘We needed someone to do that small part of a somewhat experimental and spontaneous sequence.
‘So it was wonderful to just have her sort of roll with it.’
Acknowledging it was a strange casting choice to have his own child play out such a grisly scene, the star admitted: ‘Truthfully, I try not to analyse my own intentions.
‘But the point is that if you create the ultimate destructive power it will also destroy those who are near and dear to you.
‘I suppose this was my way of expressing that in what, to me, were the strongest possible terms.’
The highly anticipated film stars Cillian Murphy in the titular role and includes appearances from Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr and Florence Pugh.
Christopher’s comments came after the stars of the flick staged a walk-out from the London premiere to ‘write their picket signs’ ahead of the Sag-Aftra strike announcement on Thursday evening.
The premiere of Christopher’s historical epic was brought forward by an hour ahead of a Sag-Aftra press conference in Los Angeles, which later declared the US union had agreed to strike.
The anticipated announcement cast a shadow over the London film premiere at the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square, with the film’s major stars leaving before the screening of the film.
Speaking on the red carpet, Cillian told PA: ‘I stand by my colleagues, that’s all I can say to you.’'

Weekend of September 9th and 10th. Jeremy Renner. Robert Downey Jr, Susan Downey, Chris Hemsworth and Leonie Hemsworth (Chris's mom) in a Boston restaurant. They had been at Chris Evans wedding! Chris married girl friend Alba Bapistisa! I keep wondering how long these Avengers has seen each other. Have no idea if Mark Ruffalo and Scarlet Johanson were able to attend. I wonder if Leonie ever met Jeremy and RDJ before this and when was the last time she was in the states? Too bad Elsa couldn't join Chris for the Evans wedding but nice to see he had some quality time with mom and some of his Avenger buds!

I’ve bolded those names who are either current or former members of the BJU Board of Trustees. UPDATE: I eliminated this indication after receiving all the names who signed.
The men present who voted unanimously were either all of those or some of those. We don’t know. We can presume that the Officers were all likely present: Kevin Schaal, Gordan Dickson, Taigen Joos, Bud Steadman, and Michael Privett.
Who abstained? Bob III didn’t. Mike Harding as a present BJU Board member? Stephen Jones as a very absent member of the Royal family? Mark Minnick as a current employee?
The only name on there that I can guarantee did not abstain was Don Johnson, but he’s an old friend of mine. ;)
What do you think?
UPDATE, May 15, 2023:
The Positives have added an unredacted signatory list. WutBJU will mark all those signatories on the above list in bold italics.

When it comes to JAG and the forever-expanding NCIS Universe that it begat, “It’s all connected” (if we may borrow a phrase from Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb).
A spinoff of JAG, the NCIS mothership on March 28 will crossover with its own latest offshoot, NCIS: Hawai’i, in back-to-back episodes that send Special Agents Nick Torres and Jessica Knight to the Aloha State (with a couple other NCIS cast members appearing if not going along for the ride).
NCIS: Hawai’i had its first quasi-crossover of sorts when an early episode of the freshman CBS drama revealed the role that none other than Leroy Jethro Gibbs played in nudging alone Jane Tennant’s own career as an NCIS Special Agent. But the official two-part crossover event will solidify NCIS: Hawai’i‘s place in the Extended JAG/NCIS Universe (JNCISU?).
On this special occasion, TVLine revisits many of the ways that JAG and NCIS characters have visited other CBS series (including one instance you might have forgotten about!), either in one-off or recurring guest spots, or in one- or two-way crossover events.
Which of these crossed streams/character team-ups do you most fondly recall?
JAG
NCIS‘ backdoor spinoff pilot came in the form of a JAG Season 8 two-parter, in which Special Agent Gibbs’ team investigated the murder of a lieutenant — and Commander Harmon “Harm” rabb Jr.’s possible role in it. In addition to Mark Harmon, future NCIS cast members Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and David McCallum appeared in the planted pilot, as Tony, Abby and Ducky.
In the years since, JAG characters such as Harm, Lieutenant Colonel Sarah “Mac” MacKenzie, Lt. Bud Roberts and Rear Admiral A.J. Chegwidden have popped up on NCIS: Los Angeles and or NCIS.
Fun fact: NBC pretty famously bailed on JAG after one season, at which point CBS “saved” the military/legal drama and eventually spun it off into a 40-season (and counting?) NCIS franchise.
NCIS
In addition to the backdoor pilot episodes that eventually sired NCIS: Los Angeles (at the end of Season 6) and NCIS: New Orleans (near the end of Season 11), NCIS has received visits from JAG characters such as Lt. Bud Roberts (played by Patrick Labyorteaux, pictured), Rear Admiral A.J. Chegwidden (John M. Jackson) and Faith Coleman (Alicia Coppola).
Next up: NCIS Hawai’i Special Agent Jane Tennant (played by Vanessa Lachey) helps kick off NCIS‘ two-part crossover with its latest spinoff.
NCIS: LOS ANGELES
In addition to receiving early-on visits from NCIS‘ Abby, Tony (pictured) and Director Leon Vance, NCIS: LA in Season 3 had a two-way crossover with Hawaii Five-0‘s Danny Williams and Chin Ho Kelly (played by Scott Caan and Daniel Dae Kim), while Kensi went stag to Five-0 during its second season.
More recently, JAG leads David James Elliott and Catherine Bell reprised their roles as Harm and Mac for an arc at the end of LA’s 10th season, while John M. Jackson has thus far made a half dozen appearances as JAG‘s Chegwidden.
HAWAII FIVE-0
In addition to the aforementioned Season 2 visit from NCIS: LA‘s Kensi (who was enlisted by Joe White to review a video of John McGarrett with Governor Jameson and Wo Fat), Five-0 had a full-on two-way crossover with NCIS: Los Angeles the following season.
Five-0 also had a two-way crossover with Magnum P.I. (though neither Alex O’Loughlin nor Scott Caan were involved), and Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park and Taylor Wily once guest-starred on MacGyver as Chin Ho, Kono and Kamekona.
MACGYVER
The Season 1 episode “Flashlight” saw Mac & Co. get an assist from Hawaii Five-0‘s Chin Ho Kelly and Kono Kalakaua, with Kamekona also putting in an appearance.
Also, after Five-0 had signed off, Jorge Garcia popped by MacGyver as conspiracy theorist Jerry Ortega, reuniting the actor with fellow Lost alum Henry Ian Cusick.
NCIS: NEW ORLEANS
NCIS: New Orleans during its seven-season run enjoyed visits from NCIS characters such as Ducky, former FBI agent Tobias Fornell (played by Joe Spano), CGIS Special Agent Abigail Borin (Diane Neal, pictured) and SECNAV Sarah Porter (Leslie Hope).
SCORPION
Early into Scorpion‘s freshman run, NCIS: Los Angeles front woman Linda Hunt guest-starred as Hetty Lange, who was recruited to help Walter’s team look the part as they went undercover to protect a priceless art exhibit.
MAGNUM P.I.
In addition to its two-way crossover with fellow island drama Hawaii Five-0 — which involved Meaghan Rath, Katrina Law, and Beulah Koale as Tani Rey, Quinn Liu and Junior Reigns — Magnum is no stranger to guest appearances by the likes of Kimee Balmilero as Dr. Noelani Cunha, Dennis Chun as Sgt. Duke Lukela, Taylor Wily’s Kamekona and Shawn Mokuahi Garnett’s Flippa.
(As for the issue of the Magnum, P.I. TV show’s theme song having once been sung by Five-0 characters, that was “explained” here.)
NCIS: HAWAI'I
In Part 1 of the two-way crossover — airing Monday, March 28 at 9/8c and titled “Starting Over” – NCIS’ Special Agent Nick Torres (played by Wilmer Valderrama) gets invited by NCIS Special Agent Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) to come to Hawai’i, when she gets a lead on a witness from a case they worked on together.

Hello my loves! Make sure you read this before requesting plssss 💕
If my requests are open, it will say so in my bio. If they are closed, it will also say so! If my requests are closed, pls wait until they are open again to submit a request.
Please send requests through my ask box ONLY. This is the way for me to have an official record of them and they won’t get lost in my messages.
I write smut (I have smut queen in my bio for a reason lol). If I post something smut, you need to be 18+ to read it. I am not responsible for what you consume and will not be held liable.
If you are under 18, you are NOT allowed to request smut. If there is no age in your bio, then I am going to assume you are under 18 and will not write the request.
I have the right to not do any request that I receive. This hasn’t really happened before, but if I can’t get the writing flowing for the request then I will message you privately to see if there’s something we can work out instead.
I’ve had chronic wrist problems for 8 years. I had surgery 7/6/2022 and it should be fixed now. However, with that being said my wrist still does hurt sometimes. Day 172: Tuesday June 21, 2022 - “Road to Cooperstown”
Cooperstown sits down a long curvy road, through rolling hills, alongside a finger shaped lake and we wound our way there today, and it feels like winding our way back into time, as you hear the story of the first baseball game being mythologized here. Whether Doubleday started the game here or not, hardly matters. Its the perfect place for the Hall of Fame. And after walking the streets and getting ice cream, and adoring the charm of the place, I think we all would agree.
We started our afternoon visit with the Hall of Famers, and browsing the bronze plaques. David Ortiz is going into the hall this year, and in prep for next month’s induction, the empty place holders had already been hung and were signed on the marble under which the plaques will hang. Wow! I thought that was really cool and wondered how far back that tradition goes and how many hall of famers signed the back of their plaque! Neat seeing this little easter egg. Last time I was here Ken Griffey Jr., one of my favorite players as a kid, went into the hall - no doubt he had signed his too!
In the Great Hall, William practiced his walking as he cruised around, curious about this special, unique room. Baseball sanctuary, I told him, as we showed him pictures of Alan Trammel, Hank Aaron, Kirby Puckett (Mom’s favorite non-3rd baseman), and Babe Ruth. In one of his newest tricks, he said in context, “Wow” - yea buddy, wow.
On to the exhibits we all quietly took our own routes, reading whatever was interesting or eye-catching. From the first exhibit with Honus Wagner’s Pirates Jersey to the last exhibit with all the World Series rings that we let William crawl on and get a closer look, the Hall is the keeper of the game, telling a story of how its evolved and changed. My favorite parts were the same as last time, the old lockers and game worn jerseys; we saw Hank Aaron’s whole uniform, Babe Ruth’s, Stan Musial’s, and Jackie Robinson’s. We saw a Mickey Mantle signed baseball and I told AC about how I wrote to him when I was in grade school and got a signature back in the mail and how because of that, for a long time I was a Mickey Mantle and Yankees fan... for a short while. We had heard that Miggy’s jersey from his 3,000th hit this Spring had been sent to the hall, but it wasn’t on display yet - instead his Triple Crown jersey was here. I told William about how someday soon, he’d have his bust in Cooperstown but that last night we saw him swing in Fenway. I enjoyed seeing Dave Robert’s shoes that he stole 2nd with with my Mom after having shown her the video of that moment in baseball history earlier in the truck on the way here - and there they were in the (leather) flesh. There were a few new things, or things I hadn’t noticed last time - like the display of Fantasy Baseball, David Freese’s 2011 WS Jersey, the section on the Negro Leagues, and even a whole room dedicated to Baseball Cards.
We visited the gift shop so that we could get a pin for Wm’s hat, and several packs of Cards to add to his budding collection. We then ventured out into town where I found a bat shop that does engraving and got a special bat to surprise everyone that commemorated William’s first game on a Louisville Slugger mini-bat. We also visited some card shops and got a Dylan Carlson rookie card to go with William’s signed shoe. But the big prize was a visit to a candy store for four double scoop waffle cones! Sorry buddy - maybe next time we’re here you can have one too. Maybe when that guy Miggy, is in the parade!
Song: Merle Haggard - Thats The Way Baseball Go
Quote: “Major League Baseball has done as much as any one thing in this country to keep up the spirit of the people.” President Franklin Roosevelt

Dumbo (1941) dir. Ben Sharpsteen, Wilfred Jackson, Norm Ferguson, Samuel Armstrong, Bill Roberts, Jack Kinney, John Elliotte
7.4/10
I would not recommend this movie to my friends.
I would not rewatch this movie.
Mrs. Jumbo is such a sweet-hearted mother.
Jumbo Jr. taking a bath is so cute.
Dumbo's hat is cute.
Timothy is a great bud.
Mom doing the elephant swing is so cute and heart-warming.
i do like the birds.
All the animals (besides the gossiping elephants) are cute.
These songs aren't right. Didn't age well at all.
Sad to see Jumbo Jr. cry.
I can't believe the movie is named Dumbo when that's a name they're teasing him with.
We realy made the whole movie making this elephant cry only to have him be a lil happy by the last few minutes.

My Last Five Reads
While January held much time for reading, February isn't quite the same. Just more schoolwork to deal with. But there's still some time read!
When We Were Enemies by Emily Bleeker - This was my last book of January. And what a flop to end on. I hope this one was a free eBook because it was not good. Protagonist Elise is descended from a line of Hollywood actresses. She still works is in the biz, but she's not an actress. She is back in the small Indiana town where her grandmother grew up before she became a Hollywood star. She plans to get married there. We go back and forth between her grandmother's past and Elise's present. Neither storyline was my cup of tea. 2 stars.
The Village Healer's Book of Cures by Jennifer Sherman Roberts - If I had seen the cover of this one, I may not have read it. There's a crow on it. The crow is a character in the book. That is two books out of the last three that a bird is a character. *shudder* Yuck! I digress... Mary Fawcett lives in 17th century England raising her young brother after her parents die. She is the healer mentioned in the title working with recipes passed down for generations for many ailments. Enter a witch finder who believes Mary is a witch who either killed her patient's husband or forced the patient to do so. Strong beginning and ending. Some parts in the middle were a bit slow, but 4 stars overall for the plot being accompanied by solid writing.
Hurt Mountain by Angela Crook- This writing in this book was nothing special, but I really enjoyed the plot. The simplistic writing style made the plot move at a good clip. When the book opens, police officer Brandon comes upon a broken-down car on the Colorado highway. The girl in the driver's seat is covered in blood, and teenaged boy in the back is long dead with brutal injuries. Brandon rushes the girl, unable to speak, to the hospital where his ex-wife, Olivia, is the doctor on call. Their history as a couple emerges as we learn more about the girl aka Jane Doe. Again, the plot the makes up for the writing. Recommended if you're up for a good mystery/thriller as the plot really moves at the end. 4 stars.
Fortune by Ellen Won Steil - This one got mediocre reviews on Goodreads which made me a little hesitant, but I loved it! The first chapter opens with widow Edie opening a safe deposit box to be opened only upon her husband's death. From there, Edie holds a DNA lottery for her husband's fortune in their small Iowa town. Three high school friends, since estranged, find their way back to each other as there is more to the lottery than meets the eye. The reader follows Edie and these three women. The more I read, the more engaged I became and couldn't click through/flip those last pages quickly enough. Suspenseful in the very best way! Good character development which isn't always easy in a back-and-forth in time structure. 5 stars!
World Made of Glass by Ann Polonsky - I got this middle grade novel via recommendation and read it this afternoon on the way home from a long weekend at my parents'. Protagonist Iris lives in Manhattan in the mid-80s. When we meet Iris, we learn that her father is dying of AIDS. Iris lives in an apartment with her mother, but after her parents divorced, her father and his partner, JR, move an apartment the next floor up. Iris has some good friends at school despite her BFF moving to Philadelphia. She also has a budding relationship with a new student: Julian. Iris' life is not only difficult due to circumstances at home but because of how some students treat her at school when they discover her father is gay. I cried twice in this short read. The best part of this book is that Iris and her father write acrostic poems to each other. Not ridiculous acrostic poems with one word stupidly describing the word down the side but really poems with strong words and themes and images. Beautiful words. Heartfelt and meaningful. Beautiful read written by a middle school teacher. 4 stars. The author and editors of this book must not be sports fans, though, because in the mid-80s, the Colorado Rockies were yet to exist as an MLB team despite the dialog in the book.
