-The workers at Big Mama’s Cirque du Nexus have more elaborate outfits than Draxum’s traditional carnival barkers. They are all tailored to fall under a vaguely jester motif with a winged insect-themed mask. This is thanks to the minor cloaking broaches they all wear, which can transform the outfits they need.

-Yes like a magical girl transformation. 

-Because this au is nothing if not incredibly extra.

Billy always hated getting new cellmates. He always had to make sure they knew he was in charge in there and he had certainly had been there the longest. He was resting on his bed, reading, or trying to since he was dyslexic and struggled, when the cell door opened and in came another man. "Loomis. This is your new cell mate." The guard said. "Be nice to the new guy." Billy sat up and gestured around him. "Welcome to paradise." He joked with a roll of his dark eyes before he took in the other male. He was certainly attractive and Billy was dying to know what he had done to wind up there. "Names Billy." He said once the door was shut behind Bo. "I was just about to make some ramen. You want some? I know all they offer when you get here is old bologna sandwiches and they suck." He could at the very least offer his new cell mate some food before throwing him to the wolves when breakfast rolled around in the morning.

as bo was ushered roughly into the cell, he turned and let them uncuff his hands, rubbing his wrists once they were free. his gaze turned from the guard to the man in the cell and he nodded lamely as he was welcomed to paradise. how he longed to be home; as shitty as it was, it was better than this.

“bo,” he replied, dropping his blanket and pillow onto the open bed and taking a seat. there wasn’t much else to do. he looked back at billy and nodded. “yeah, that’d be great,” he said with a smile. “the bologna sucked,” he agreed with a huff of a laugh. he had not idea how to behave in prison, hell, he barely had any idea how to behave in the real world. he was grateful this man was being nice. he’d heard horror stories about getting new cellmates and he was honestly quite nervous. “you been here long?” he asked, unsure of what to do or say.

I’m gonna talk about the Mud Dogs and their roles in the circus AU. I’ve spoken about them before but gave a half-baked concept because there were details I still hadn’t figured out (@thehandleisjammed ended up providing A+ input)

So the Mud Dogs! Danny, Mickey, and Leonard are jesters at Cirque du Nexus, often performing with Heinous Green, who had a strongman act of his own (sometimes, when he increases his size, he’ll even juggle Danny, Leonard, and Mickey).

But when the Mud Dogs aren’t shmoozin’ the circus, they’re out infiltrating Draxum’s circus — sabotaging things!

But in order to sneak in, the Mud Dogs must wear disguises:

Rifting off Leonard’s geta-sandals, Len poses as a stilts-walker. (Maybe he wears a Japanese ogre/tengu mask to further hide his face.)

On the occasions that Heinous Green tags along, he poses as a mime. And yes, he has the mustache. Nobody can tell the difference!

Danny poses as a carney-(rat)man— he’s very good at it too. He finds an empty game booth, he pretends to run it, etc. (“Step right up, c’mon tough guy! You look like a real sharpshooter!”)

Mickey can be found working the dunk-tank or showing off his mad hoops skills but for most of their missions, he sticks around either Danny or Leonard since he needs someone keeping an eye on him 👀 (he gets distracted easily).

You already know which legendary star I’m referring to! The stuntman to end all stunts! An unparalleled acrobat, a fantastic stage magician and oh so much more- he was the best in every preforming art!

But one day... he vanished. Was it the weight of his world-wide acclaimed fame that brought the star crashing down? Or perhaps something more sinister behind the curtains? We may never know. Still, though, you’ve got to admit it’s fitting; he came out of nowhere to dazzle audiences world wide and just as suddenly as he appeared *poof* gone.

But the world will never forget him.

-His star mask/visor was actually inspired by a character in this one TTRPG show about teenage superheroes doing their best in a modern world. Valor Academy is perfectly available to be watched whenever over at twitch.tv/SurpriseRoundRPG! In it Hoshiko aka Quinn Komaeda has a visor that looks like a star.

The artist who designed Quinn is @romaheroic, who is a huge inspiration for me as a responsible artist who stays hy(pe)drated!

Billy hadnt even noticed he was watching Bo but he definitely was. He had extended his stay in Ambrose after realizing he had much more in common with the Sinclair brothers than he thought and he was free to be himself here. His dark eyes darted away from Bo briefly as he dug out a cigarette from his jeans pocket. "You're just fucking hot." He said bluntly as he lit up and a smirk pulled on his bearded lips. "Too blunt?" He asked in a almost teasing tone.

the words took him aback and bo blinked, though a smile spread across his lips. he’d never had a situation quite like this one and he found heat rushing to his cheeks as he glanced down quickly. he looked back at billy and shook his head, pulling a face. “nah... always love someone who isn’t afraid to speak their mind...” he said. “you’re pretty fucking hot, too,” he added, eyeing billy up and down before returning his attention to fastening the bolt on the engine, still smiling from ear to ear.

BotBT Leo, wiping face free of pie residue: “Hey! I’m edgey! Have you SEEN how many swords I can juggle? They’ve got, like, a ton of edges, broham.”

- Flashback to BotBT Leo trying to juggle exactly one ton of swords, the operative word being ‘trying’. -

“HEY DAD! WATCH ME WATCH ME ARN’T I THE COOLEST?!”

BotBT Draxum, not paying attention: “That reminds me, I still have to talk to Rupert about his new knife throwing act.”

- Cut back to the present. -

BotBT Leo: “Haha, so many edges...”

Separated Leo: “Oh! I’d know that distant, longing-for-approval gaze anywhere! He’s one of us.”

Draxum’s Twin Leo: “Is he though?”

Leozula: “No one answered my question. Who is responsible? Who??”

Kronos: “Let’s look at his application form.” They rifle through a handful of papers.

Draxum’s Twin Leo: “Where did they get those?”

Green picks out a picture of Blind!Leo and ATLA Leo, comparing them to the turtle they’re appraising now. They all have identical naive smirks. All present share a knowing nod and Green slips BotBT Leo’s papers into the Must Protect Baby file, right next to his own.

BotBT Leo: “Speaking of jokes, who wants to hear my six-hour stand up comedy act? Hah! Trick question, you’re gonna hear it anyway. So, this guy walks into a bar and he sees a horse behind the counter-”

Unseen Narrator: And so it was that BotBT Leo was never seen again.

Everyone looks up in confusion, ala the muppets on The Muppets Show whenever they hear the Announcer.

BotBT Leo: “Wait, what?”

Freeze frame on him looking up with an out-of-focus Leozula closing in on him in a fiery comet.

*laugh-track plays*
